Abstract
Conventional endoscopy is widely used in the diagnosis of early gastric cancers (EGCs), but the graphical features were loosely defined and dependent on endoscopists' experience. We aim to establish a more accurate predictive model for infiltration depth of early gastric cancer including a standardized colorimetric system, which demonstrates promising clinical implication. A retrospective study of 718 EGC cases was performed. Clinical and pathological characteristics were included, and Commission Internationale de l'Eclariage (CIE) standard colorimetric system was used to evaluate the chromaticity of lesions. The predicting models were established in the derivation set using multivariate backward stepwise logistic regression, decision tree model, and random forest model. Logistic regression shows location, macroscopic type, length, marked margin elevation, WLI color difference and histological type are factors significantly independently associated with infiltration depth. In the decision tree model, margin elevation, lesion located in the lower 1/3 part, WLI a*color value, b*color value, and abnormal thickness in enhanced CT were selected, which achieved an AUROC of 0.810. A random forest model was established presenting the importance of each feature with an accuracy of 0.80, and an AUROC of 0.844. Quantified color metrics can improve the diagnostic precision in the invasion depth of EGC. We have developed a nomogram model using logistic regression and machine learning algorithms were also explored, which turned out to be helpful in decision-making progress.

Abstract
The remarkable damage-tolerance of enamel has been attributed to its hierarchical microstructure and the organized bands of decussated rods. A thorough characterization of the microscale rod evolution within the enamel is needed to elucidate this complex structure. While prior efforts in this area have made use of single particle tracking to track a single rod evolution to various degrees of success, such a process can be both computationally and labor intensive, limited to the evolution path of a single rod, and is therefore prone to error from potentially tracking outliers. Particle image velocimetry (PIV) is a well-established algorithm to derive field information from image sequences for processes that are time-dependent, such as fluid flows and structural deformation. In this work, we demonstrate the use of PIV in extracting the full-field microstructural distribution of rods within the enamel. Enamel samples from a wild African lion were analyzed using high-energy synchrotron X-ray micro-tomography. Results from the PIV analysis provide sufficient full-field information to reconstruct the growth of individual rods that can potentially enable rapid analysis of complex microstructures from high resolution synchrotron datasets. Such information can serve as a template for designing damage-tolerant bioinspired structures for advanced manufacturing. STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE: Thorough characterization and analysis of biological microstructures (viz. dental enamel) allows us to understand the basis of their excellent mechanical properties. Prior efforts have successfully replicated these microstructures via single particle tracking, but the process is computationally and labor intensive. In this work, optical flow imaging algorithms were used to extract full-field microstructural distribution of enamel rods from synchrotron X-ray computed tomography datasets, and a field method was used to reconstruct the growth of individual rods. Such high throughput information allows for the rapid production/prototyping and advanced manufacturing of damage-tolerant bioinspired structures for specific engineering applications. Furthermore, the algorithms used herein are freely available and open source to broaden the availability of the proposed workflow to the general scientific community.

Abstract
The efficient development of selective materials for uranium recovery from wastewater and seawater is crucial for the utilization of uranium resources and environmental protection. The potential of graphene oxide (GO) as an effective adsorbent for the removal of environmental contaminants has been extensively investigated. Further modification of the functional groups on the basal surface of GO can significantly enhance its adsorption performance. In this study, a novel poly(amidoxime-hydroxamic acid) functionalized graphene oxide (pAHA-GO) was synthesized via free radical polymerization followed by an oximation reaction, aiming to enhance its adsorption efficiency for U(VI). A variety of characterization techniques, including SEM, Raman spectroscopy, FT-IR, and XPS, were employed to demonstrate the successful decoration of amidoxime and hydroxamic acid functional groups onto GO. Meanwhile, the adsorption of U(VI) on pAHA-GO was studied as a function of contact time, adsorbent dosage, pH, ionic strength, initial U(VI) concentration, and interfering ions by batch-type experiments. The results indicated that the pAHA-GO exhibited excellent reuse capability, high stability, and anti-interference ability. Specially, the U(VI) adsorption reactions were consistent with pseudo-second-order and Langmuir isothermal adsorption models. The maximum U(VI) adsorption capacity was evaluated to be 178.7 mg/g at pH 3.6, displaying a higher U(VI) removal efficiency compared with other GO-based adsorbents in similar conditions. Regeneration of pAHA-GO did not significantly influence the adsorption towards U(VI) for up to four sequential cycles. In addition, pAHA-GO demonstrated good adsorption capacity stability when it was immersed in HNO3 solution at different concentrations (0.1-1.0 mol/L) for 72 h. pAHA-GO was also found to have anti-interference ability for U(VI) adsorption in seawater with high salt content at near-neutral pH condition. In simulated seawater, the adsorption efficiency was above 94% for U(VI) across various initial concentrations. The comprehensive characterization results demonstrated the involvement of oxygen- and nitrogen-containing functional groups in pAHA-GO in the adsorption process of U(VI). Overall, these findings demonstrate the feasibility of the pAHA-GO composite used for the capture of U(VI) from aqueous solutions.

Abstract
Interleukin 12 (IL-12) is a potent immunostimulatory cytokine mainly produced by antigen-presenting cells (e.g., dendritic cells, macrophages) and plays an important role in innate and adaptive immunity against cancers. Therapies that can synergistically modulate innate immunity and stimulate adaptive anti-tumor responses are of great interest for cancer immunotherapy. Here we investigated the lipid nanoparticle-encapsulated self-replicating RNA (srRNA) encoding IL-12 (referred to as JCXH-211) for the treatment of cancers. Both local (intratumoral) and systemic (intravenous) administration of JCXH-211 in tumor-bearing mice induced a high-level expression of IL-12 in tumor tissues, leading to modulation of tumor microenvironment and systemic activation of antitumor immunity. Particularly, JCXH-211 can inhibit the tumor-infiltration of polymorphonuclear myeloid-derived suppressor cells (PMN-MDSCs). When combined with anti-PD1 antibody, it was able to enhance the recruitment of T cells and NK cells into tumors. In multiple mouse solid tumor models, intravenous injection of JCXH-211 not only eradicated large preestablished tumors, but also induced protective immune memory that prevented the growth of rechallenged tumors. Finally, intravenous injection of JCXH-211 did not cause noticeable systemic toxicity in tumor-bearing mice and non-human primates. Thus, our study demonstrated the feasibility of intravenous administration of JCXH-211 for the treatment of advanced cancers.

Abstract
1. Laying performance is an important economic trait in poultry. The blood is essential in transporting nutrients to the yolk and albumen and is necessary for egg formation.2. This study calculated the phenotypic relationships of duck egg quality, egg production efficiency and 22 serum parameters in the egg-laying stage. Using a variety of methodologies, a genome-wide association study (GWAS) was carried out to uncover the genetic foundations of the 22 serum biochemical markers of laying ducks.3. Spearman correlation coefficients between the egg production (226-329 per day) and the serum parameters were all weak, being less than 0.3. This analysis was done on 22 serum parameters, with total protein (TP), total triglycerides (TG), calcium (Ca) and phosphorous (P) having the highest correlation coefficients (r = 0.56-0.88). The coefficients for blood markers, such as total cholesterol (CHOL), total bilirubin (TBIL), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) varied from 0.70-0.94.4. Based on single-marker single-trait genome-wide analyses by a mixed linear model program of EMMAX, nine candidate genes were associated with enzyme traits (AST/ALT aspartate transaminase/glutamic-pyruvic transaminase, creatine kinase) and 19 candidate genes were associated with metabolism and protein-related serum parameters (glucose, total bile acid, uric acid (UA), albumin (ALB).5. The mvLMM (multivariate linear mixed model) of GEMMA software was used to carry out multiple trait integrated GWAS. Two candidate genes were found in the TP-TG-CA-P analysis and seven candidate genes in the CHOL_LDL-C_HDL-C_TBIL study. There was a high genetic correlation between the two groups.

Abstract
Multinuclear U(VI) species may be dominant in aqueous solutions under environmental conditions, while the structures of the multinuclear U(VI) species on mineral surfaces remain unclear. This work reports the structural and bonding properties of the possible surface complexes of three aqueous multinuclear U(VI) species, i.e., (UO2)2(OH)3+, (UO2)2(OH)22+ and (UO2)3(O)(OH)3+, on the hydroxylated α-SiO2(001) surface based on density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The results show that (UO2)2(OH)22+ and (UO2)3(O)(OH)3+ tend to form end-on structures at SiO(H)SiO(H) sites, whereas (UO2)2(OH)3+ prefers a side-on structure at SiO(H)O(H)-SiO(H)O(H) sites. The main driving forces for the formation of the multinuclear U(VI) surface complexes are electrostatic interactions and partially covalent chemical bonds. The Os-2p orbital hybridizes strongly with U-5f and U-6d orbitals, with a decreasing binding strength in the sequence of (UO2)2(OH)3+ > (UO2)2(OH)22+ > (UO2)3(O)(OH)3+ for the adsorption at the same type of surface sites. For the adsorption of the same multinuclear U(VI) species, the binding energy increases with the deprotonation extent of the identical sites. In addition, hydrogen bonds between surface hydroxyls and coordination waters as well as the acyl oxygen of uranyl moieties contribute to the formation of the multinuclear U(VI) surface complexes. The U-5f electron delocalization of far-side U atoms in the end-on structures of (UO2)2(OH)22+ and (UO2)3(O)(OH)3+ surface complexes also contributes slightly to the overall binding energy. Overall, this study provides insights into the adsorption behavior of multinuclear U(VI) on silica.

Abstract
To tune the complexation and solvent extraction performance of the ligands with a 1,10-phenanthroline core for trivalent actinides (An3+) and lanthanides (Ln3+), we synthesized two new asymmetric tetradentate ligands with pyrazole and amide groups, i.e., L1 (N,N-diethyl-9-(5-ethyl-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)-1,10-phenanthroline-2-carboxamide) and its analogue L2 with longer alkyl chains (N,N-dihexyl). The complexation of the ligands with Ln3+ was confirmed by 1H NMR titration and X-ray crystallography, and stability constants were measured in methanol by spectrophotometric titration. The asymmetric ligands exhibited an improved performance in terms of selective solvent extraction of Am3+ over Eu3+ in strongly acidic solutions compared to their symmetric analogues. The improved selectivity of the asymmetric ligands was interpreted theoretically by density functional theory simulations. This study implies that combining different functional groups to construct asymmetric ligands may be an efficient way to tune ligand performance with regard to An3+ separation from Ln3+.

Abstract
Introduction Cadonilimab (AK104) is an innovative human programmed cell death-1 (PD-1)/cytotoxic T lymphocyte antigen-4 (CTLA-4) bispecific antibody. Compared with the combination therapy of PD-1 and CTLA-4 blockers, less cellular toxicity of cadonilimab was significantly manifested. As one of the characteristic adverse effects of cadonilimab, infusion-related reactions (IRRs) represent fever, chills, rash, decreased blood pressure, and other symptoms. Case Presentation Here, we documented seven cases of IRRs after the administration of cadonilimab. The symptoms of IRRs were relieved after the discontinuation of cadonilimab and the administration of diphenhydramine, dexamethasone, and cimetidine. Notably, 3 patients were able to tolerate the subsequent cadonilimab therapy under the pretreatment. Conclusion In this study, we discovered that cadonilimab-related IRRs might be lessened or prevented by administering medication and the proper pretreatment and lowering the infusion rate.

Prognostic and risk factor analysis of cancer patients after unplanned ICU admission: a real-world multicenter study. Sci Rep 2023; 13:22340. Abstract
To investigate the occurrence and 90-day mortality of cancer patients following unplanned admission to the intensive care unit (ICU), as well as to develop a risk prediction model for their 90-day prognosis. We prospectively analyzed data from cancer patients who were admitted to the ICU without prior planning within the past 7 days, specifically between May 12, 2021, and July 12, 2021. The patients were grouped based on their 90-day survival status, and the aim was to identify the risk factors influencing their survival status. A total of 1488 cases were included in the study, with an average age of 63.2 ± 12.4 years. The most common reason for ICU admission was sepsis (n = 940, 63.2%). During their ICU stay, 29.7% of patients required vasoactive drug support (n = 442), 39.8% needed invasive mechanical ventilation support (n = 592), and 82 patients (5.5%) received renal replacement therapy. We conducted a multivariate COX proportional hazards model analysis, which revealed that BMI and a history of hypertension were protective factors. On the other hand, antitumor treatment within the 3 months prior to admission, transfer from the emergency department, general ward, or external hospital, high APACHE score, diagnosis of shock and respiratory failure, receiving invasive ventilation, and experiencing acute kidney injury (AKI) were identified as risk factors for poor prognosis within 90 days after ICU admission. The average length of stay in the ICU was 4 days, while the hospital stay duration was 18 days. A total of 415 patients died within 90 days after ICU admission, resulting in a mortality rate of 27.9%. We selected 8 indicators to construct the predictive model, which demonstrated good discrimination and calibration. The prognosis of cancer patients who are unplanned transferred to the ICU is generally poor. Assessing the risk factors and developing a risk prediction model for these patients can play a significant role in evaluating their prognosis.

Abstract
The timely detection of diseases and the accurate identification of pathogens require the development of efficient and reliable diagnostic methods. In this study, we have developed a novel specific multivariate probe termed MRTFP (multivariate real-time fluorescent probe) by assembling strand exchange three-way-junction (3WJ) structures. The 3WJ structures were incorporated into a four-angle probe (FP) and a hexagonal probe (HP), to target the multivariate genes of Salmonella. The FP and HP enable single-step and multiplexed detection in RT-LAMP (real-time loop-mediated isothermal amplification) with exceptional sensitivity and specificity. Encouragingly, real food samples contaminated with Salmonella (Salmonella enteritidis and Salmonella typhimurium) can be readily identified and distinguished with a minimum detectable concentration (MDC) of 103 CFU/mL without the need for further culture. The introduction of MRTFP allows for simultaneous detection of dual or three targets in a single tube for LAMP, thereby improving detection efficiency. The MRTFP simplifies the design of robust multivariate probes, exhibits excellent stability, and avoids interference from multiple probe units, offering significant potential for the development of specific probes for efficient and accurate disease detection and pathogen identification.

Abstract
The determination of the aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) content has received widespread attention in the context of food safety, which is a global public health issue. Accordingly, a label-free and turn-on fluorescent AFB1 determination method is developed herein with an ss-DNA aptamer as the recognition element, 4, 4-(1E,1E)-2, 2-(anthracene-9, 10-diyl) bis(ethene-2, 1-diyl) bis(N, N, N-trimethylbenzenaminium iodide) (DSAI) as the aggregation-induced emission (AIE) fluorescent probe, and single-walled carbon nanohorns (SWCNHs) as the selective part with a fluorescence quenching effect. In the presence of AFB1, the AFB1-specific aptamer undergoes a structural transformation and switches from being a random helix to a folded structure. DSAI's fluorescence is protected as a result of the resistance of the transformed aptamer adsorbed on the SWCNHs' surface. Because DSAI's fluorescence is not quenchable, the fluorescence intensity is calculated as a function of the AFB1 concentration. By simply mixing DSAI, aptamer, AFB1 samples, and SWCNHs, the method can be carried out in 2 h, with a limit of detection (LOD) of 1.83 ng/mL. It has a high selectivity in the presence of other mycotoxins, and its performance is confirmed in soybean sauce with a known concentration of AFB1. The LOD was 1.92 ng/mL in the soy sauce samples and the recovery ranged from 95 to 106%, implying that the presented aptasensor has great potential for food analysis.

Abstract
Background Imbalances in bile acid (BA) synthesis and metabolism are involved in the onset of diabetes and depression in humans and rodents. However, the role of BAs and the farnesoid X receptor (FXR)/fibroblast growth factor (FGF) 15 signaling pathway in the development of diabetes and depression is still largely unknown. Therefore, we investigated the potential molecular mechanisms of BAs that may be associated with glucolipid metabolism disorders in diabetic mice subjected to chronic stress. Methods The type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) mouse model was induced by feeding mice a high-fat diet and administering an intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (STZ). The chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) procedure was performed by introducing a series of mild stressors. Forty mice were randomly divided into the regular chow feeding group and the high-fat diet feeding group. After two weeks of feeding, the mice were randomly divided into four groups: the Control group, CUMS group, T2DM group, and T2DM+CUMS group. The T2DM group and T2DM+CUMS group received an intraperitoneal injection of STZ to induce the T2DM model. The CUMS and T2DM+CUMS groups were exposed to CUMS to induce depressive-like phenotypes. Blood and tissue samples were obtained for pertinent analysis and detection. Results Compared with the T2DM mice, T2DM+CUMS mice had higher blood glucose and lipid levels, insulin resistance, inflammation of the liver and pancreas, impaired liver function, and increased total bile acids. These changes were accompanied by attenuated FXR signaling. Chronic stress was found to attenuate FXR expression and its downstream target, FGF15, in the ileum when compared with the T2DM group. Conclusion FXR may play a role in the diabetic disorder of glucolipid metabolism when aggravated by chronic stress. FXR and its downstream target, FGF15, may be therapeutic targets for treating comorbid T2DM and depression.

Abstract
Mycotoxin contamination in food products can easily cause serious health hazards and economic losses to human beings. How to accurately detect and effectively control mycotoxin contamination has become a global concern. Mycotoxins conventional detection techniques e.g; ELISA, HPLC, have limitations like, low sensitivity, high cost and time-consuming. Aptamer-based biosensing technology has the advantages of high sensitivity, high specificity, wide linear range, high feasibility, and non-destructiveness, which overcomes the shortcomings of conventional analysis techniques. This review summarizes the sequences of mycotoxin aptamers that have been reported so far. Based on the application of four classic POST-SELEX strategies, it also discusses the bioinformatics-assisted POST-SELEX technology in obtaining optimal aptamers. Furthermore, trends in the study of aptamer sequences and their binding mechanisms to targets is also discussed. The latest examples of aptasensor detection of mycotoxins are classified and summarized in detail. Newly developed dual-signal detection, dual-channel detection, multi-target detection and some types of single-signal detection combined with unique strategies or novel materials in recent years are focused. Finally, the challenges and prospects of aptamer sensors in the detection of mycotoxins are discussed. The development of aptamer biosensing technology provides a new approach with multiple advantages for on-site detection of mycotoxins. Although aptamer biosensing shows great development potential, still some challenges and difficulties are there in practical applications. Future research need high focus on the practical applications of aptasensors and the development of convenient and highly automated aptamers. This may lead to the transition of aptamer biosensing technology from laboratory to commercialization.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Despite the prolonged median disease-free survival (DFS) by adjuvant targeted therapy in non-small-cell lung cancer patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations, the relationship between the treatment duration and the survival benefits in patients remains unknown. PATIENTS AND METHODS In this multicenter, randomized, open-label, phase II trial, eligible patients aged 18-75 years with EGFR-mutant, stage II-IIIA lung adenocarcinoma and who had not received adjuvant chemotherapy after complete tumor resection were enrolled from eight centers in China. Patients were randomly assigned (1 : 1) to receive either 1-year or 2-year icotinib (125 mg thrice daily). The primary endpoint was DFS assessed by investigator. The secondary endpoints were overall survival (OS) and safety. This study was registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT01929200). RESULTS Between September 2013 and October 2018, 109 patients were enrolled (1-year group, n = 55; 2-year group, n = 54). Median DFS was 48.9 months [95% confidence interval (CI) 33.1-70.1 months] in the 2-year group and 32.9 months (95% CI 26.6-44.8 months) in the 1-year group [hazard ratio (HR) 0.51; 95% CI 0.28-0.94; P = 0.0290]. Median OS for patients was 75.8 months [95% CI 64.4 months-not evaluable (NE)] in the 2-year group and NE (95% CI 66.3 months-NE) in the 1-year group (HR 0.34; 95% CI 0.13-0.95; P = 0.0317). Treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs) were observed in 41 of 55 (75%) patients in the 1-year group and in 36 of 54 (67%) patients in the 2-year group. Grade 3-4 TRAEs occurred in 4 of 55 (7%) patients in the 1-year group and in 3 of 54 (6%) patients in the 2-year group. No treatment-related deaths or interstitial lung disease was reported. CONCLUSIONS Two-year adjuvant icotinib was shown to significantly improve DFS and provide an OS benefit in EGFR-mutant, stage II-IIIA lung adenocarcinoma patients compared with 1-year treatment in this exploratory phase II study.

Abstract
Interdependent networks are susceptible to catastrophic consequences due to the interdependence between the interacting subnetworks, making an effective recovery measure particularly crucial. Empirical evidence indicates that repairing the failed network component requires resources typically supplied by all subnetworks, which imposes the multivariate dependence on the recovery measures. In this paper, we develop a multivariate recovery coupling model for interdependent networks based on percolation theory. Considering the coupling structure and the failure-recovery relationship, we propose three recovery strategies for different scenarios based on the local stability of nodes. We find that the supporting network plays a more important role in improving network resilience than the network where the repaired component is located. This is because the recovery strategy based on the local stability of the supporting nodes is more likely to obtain direct benefits. In addition, the results show that the average degree and the degree exponent of the networks have little effect on the superior performance of the proposed recovery strategies. We also find a percolation phase transition from first to second order, which is strongly related to the dependence coefficient. This indicates that the more the recovery capacity of a system depends on the system itself, the more likely it is to undergo an abrupt transition under the multivariate recovery coupling. This paper provides a general theoretical frame to address the multivariate recovery coupling, which will enable us to design more resilient networks against cascading failures.

Abstract
Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is one of the most contaminated fungal toxins worldwide and is prone to cause serious economic losses, food insecurity, and health hazards to humans. The rapid, on-site, and economical method for AFB1 detection is need of the day. In this study, an AFB1 aptamer (AFB1-Apt) sensing platform was established for the detection of AFB1. Fluorescent moiety (FAM)-modified aptamers were used for fluorescence response and quenching, based on the adsorption quenching function of single-walled carbon nanohorns (SWCNHs). Basically, in our constructed sensing platform, the AFB1 specifically binds to AFB1-Apt, making a stable complex. This complex with fluorophore resists to be adsorbed by SWCNHs, thus prevent SWCNHs from quenching of fluorscence, resulting in a fluorescence response. This designed sensing strategy was highly selective with a good linear response in the range of 10-100 ng/mL and a low detection limit of 4.1 ng/mL. The practicality of this sensing strategy was verified by using successful spiking experiments on real samples of soybean oil and comparison with the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) method.

Abstract
As one of the common complications of radiotherapy, radiation pneumonia (RP) limits the prognosis of patients. Therefore, better identifying the high-risk factors that lead to RP is essential to effectively prevent its occurrence. However, as lung cancer treatment modalities are being replaced and the era of immunotherapy has arrived, literature that reviews the parameters and mode of radiotherapy, chemotherapy drugs, targeted drugs and current hot immune checkpoint inhibitors related to RP is lacking. This paper summarizes the risk factors for radiation pneumonia by retrieving and analysing previously published literature and the results of large clinical trials. The literature primarily included retrospective analyses, including clinical trials in different periods and a part of the literature review. A systematic literature search of Embase, PubMed, Web of Science, and Clinicaltrials.gov was performed for relevant publications up to 6 Dec. 2022. Search keywords include, but are not limited to, "radiation pneumonia", "pneumonia", "risk factors", "immunotherapy", etc. The factors related to RP in this paper include physical parameters of radiotherapy, including V5, V20, and MLD; chemoradiotherapy mode and chemotherapy drugs, including paclitaxel and gemcitabine; EGFR-TKI; ALK inhibitors; antiangiogenic drugs; immune drugs and the underlying disease of the patient. We also introduce the possible mechanism of RP. In the future, we hope that this article not only sounds the alarm for clinicians but also helps to identify a method that can effectively intervene and reduce the occurrence of RP, significantly improve the quality of life and prognosis of patients, and more effectively improve the therapeutic effect of radiation therapy.

Abstract
Efficient detection of pathogenic bacteria is paramount for ensuring food safety and safeguarding public health. Herein, we developed a label-free and signal-on dual-target recognition electrochemical DNA sensing platform based on the conformational formation of split G-quadruplex. This platform focused on achieving sensitive and low-cost detection of Salmonella and its most human-infecting S. typhimurium serotype. In simple terms, the dual-target recognition probe (DTR-6P) was ingeniously designed for the loop sequence on the loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) amplicons. It could recognize two different genes and release their corresponding G-rich sequences. The exfoliated G-rich sequences could be captured by the capture probes on the electrode, and then the bimolecular G-quadruplex or the tetramolecular G-quadruplex would be formed to capture hemin, thereby enabling dual-signal reporting. The minimum detection amount of target genes can be as low as 2 copies/μL. Encouragingly, the real food samples contaminated by Salmonella and the S. typhimurium serotype can be readily identified. The sensing platform with ingenious design paves a new way for label-free, multi-target simultaneous detection, whose advantage of rapidity, sensitivity, cost-effectiveness, and specificity also lay a solid foundation for practical applications.

Abstract
Reactor neutrino experiments play a crucial role in advancing our knowledge of neutrinos. In this Letter, the evolution of the flux and spectrum as a function of the reactor isotopic content is reported in terms of the inverse-beta-decay yield at Daya Bay with 1958 days of data and improved systematic uncertainties. These measurements are compared with two signature model predictions: the Huber-Mueller model based on the conversion method and the SM2018 model based on the summation method. The measured average flux and spectrum, as well as the flux evolution with the ^{239}Pu isotopic fraction, are inconsistent with the predictions of the Huber-Mueller model. In contrast, the SM2018 model is shown to agree with the average flux and its evolution but fails to describe the energy spectrum. Altering the predicted inverse-beta-decay spectrum from ^{239}Pu fission does not improve the agreement with the measurement for either model. The models can be brought into better agreement with the measurements if either the predicted spectrum due to ^{235}U fission is changed or the predicted ^{235}U, ^{238}U, ^{239}Pu, and ^{241}Pu spectra are changed in equal measure.

Abstract
We present a new determination of the smallest neutrino mixing angle θ_{13} and the mass-squared difference Δm_{32}^{2} using a final sample of 5.55×10^{6} inverse beta-decay (IBD) candidates with the final-state neutron captured on gadolinium. This sample is selected from the complete dataset obtained by the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment in 3158 days of operation. Compared to the previous Daya Bay results, selection of IBD candidates has been optimized, energy calibration refined, and treatment of backgrounds further improved. The resulting oscillation parameters are sin^{2}2θ_{13}=0.0851±0.0024, Δm_{32}^{2}=(2.466±0.060)×10^{-3} eV^{2} for the normal mass ordering or Δm_{32}^{2}=-(2.571±0.060)×10^{-3} eV^{2} for the inverted mass ordering.

Abstract
In recent years, the incidence of renal cancer has been increasing continuously. Surgical resection is the "gold standard" for the treatment of small renal cancer. However, local ablation therapy of renal cancer is undoubtedly the best choice for patients with short life expectancy, other complications, and impaired renal function who are not suitable for surgery. In recent years, with the development of ablation techniques and long-term follow-up, local ablation has shown good therapeutic effects. As many domestic hospitals are performing or planning to perform renal tumor cryoablation to improve the clinical cure rate and surgical safety of renal tumor cryoablation, it is necessary to standardize the surgical indications, contraindications, perioperative management, efficacy evaluation, and other common problems. Currently, there is no expert consensus regarding perioperative renal tumor cryoablation in China. To standardize the perioperative management of renal tumor cryoablation and related technical operations in clinical practice, and improve the effectiveness and safety of cryoablation, the expert committee of Tumor Interventional and Minimally Invasive Diagnosis and Treatment Continuing Education Base of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association convened experts in related fields to discuss and formulate this consensus, which is hereby published, for clinical reference and application.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The incidence of infections among cancer patients is as high as 23.2-33.2% in China. However, the lack of information and data on the number of antibiotics used by cancer patients is an obstacle to implementing antibiotic management plans. AIM This study aimed to investigate bacterial infections and antibiotic resistance in Chinese cancer patients to provide a reference for the rational use of antibiotics. DESIGN This was a 5-year retrospective study on the antibiotic resistance of cancer patients. METHODS In this 5-year surveillance study, we collected bacterial and antibiotic resistance data from 20 provincial cancer diagnosis and treatment centers and three specialized cancer hospitals in China. We analyzed the resistance of common bacteria to antibiotics, compared to common clinical drug-resistant bacteria, evaluated the evolution of critical drug-resistant bacteria and conducted data analysis. FINDINGS Between 2016 and 2020, 216 219 bacterial strains were clinically isolated. The resistance trend of Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae to amikacin, ciprofloxacin, cefotaxime, piperacillin/tazobactam and imipenem was relatively stable and did not significantly increase over time. The resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains to all antibiotics tested, including imipenem and meropenem, decreased over time. In contrast, the resistance of Acinetobacter baumannii strains to carbapenems increased from 4.7% to 14.7%. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) significantly decreased from 65.2% in 2016 to 48.9% in 2020. CONCLUSIONS The bacterial prevalence and antibiotic resistance rates of E. coli, K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa, A. baumannii, S. aureus and MRSA were significantly lower than the national average.

Abstract
Owing to the unique geometric structure of dendritic amphiphiles with voluminous dendrons, their micelles can harbor a large void space, which provides a new research focus and approach for micellar functionalization. In this work, we used the void space to construct a UV responsive micelle system of the mixed dendritic amphiphile (C12-(G3)2) and cationic azobenzene surfactant (C4AzoTAB). The synthesized C12-(G3)2 that possesses double third generation polyglycerol (PG) dendrons and a single alkyl chain is expected to highlight the large void space within the inside of the micelles. Thus, the aims of this work are to achieve the isomerization of C4AzoTAB in situ and to deeply understand the intermolecular interaction in the mixed micelles. The effect of the large void room with a wall decorated with the ether oxygen atoms on the isomerization of C4AzoTAB was studied by isomerization kinetics, conductivity measurements, isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), and 1H NMR and 2D NOESY spectroscopies. The isomerization behavior of C4AzoTAB in C12-(G3)2 micelles was presented in terms of its kinetic constant, counterionic association, interaction enthalpy, and position and orientation of C4AzoTAB. The results of NMR and conductivity show that the quaternary ammonium group of C4AzoTAB situates on the surface of the mixed micelles with C12-(G3)2 both before and after UV-irradiation, while the position of azobenzene group in C12-(G3)2 micelles depends on its conformation. The C12-(G3)2 micelles can inhibit the UV response of the trans-isomer and activate the thermal relaxation of the cis-isomer, which has a potential application in the field of light-controlled smart nanocarriers.

[Selection of classic laryngeal mask airway size based on ideal body mass in patients with low body mass index: a randomized trial]. Abstract
OBJECTIVE To compare the effect of laryngeal mask airway (LMA) size selection based on ideal and actual body mass on the success rate of first insertion in patients with low body mass index (BMI). METHODS This study was performed in 137 patients aged 18-60 years with BMI below 18.5 kg/m2, in whom discrepancies occurred in the selection of LMA size based on their actual body mass and the ideal body mass. The patients were randomized divided into ideal body mass group and actual body mass group, in which the size of LMA was selected based on the ideal body mass and their actual body mass, respectively. The success rate of first LMA insertion, overall success rate, fiberoptic visual field grade, leakage pressure, and LMA-related complications of the patients were recorded during the maintenance and recovery of anesthesia. RESULTS The success rate of first LMA insertion was significantly higher in ideal body mass group than in the actual body mass group (86.8% vs 68.1%, P=0.016). Compared with those in the actual body mass group, the patients in the ideal body mass group used larger LMA (P < 0.005) and had better fiberoptic field scores (P=0.001) and higher airway seal pressure (P < 0.005). The peak inspiratory pressure (P=0.154) or the incidence of LMA-related complications during anesthesia maintenance and recovery did not differ significantly between the two groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION The size selection of LMA based on the ideal body mass of the patients, determined according to their height and sex, can significantly improve the success rate of first LMA insertion in patients with low BMI.

Abstract
Background The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic is ravaging the world. Many therapies have been explored to treat COVID-19. This report aimed to assess the global research trends for the development of COVID-19 therapies. Methods We searched the relevant articles on COVID-19 therapies published from January 1, 2020, to May 25, 2022, in the Web of Science Core Collection Database (WOSCC). VOSviewer 1.6.18 software was used to assess data on the countries, institutions, authors, collaborations, keywords, and journals that were most implicated in COVID-19 pharmacological research. The latest research and changing trends in COVID-19-relevant pharmacological research were analyzed. Results After manually eliminating articles that do not meet the requirements, a total of 5,289 studies authored by 32,932 researchers were eventually included in the analyses, which comprised 95 randomized controlled trials. 3,044 (57.6%) studies were published in 2021. The USA conducted the greatest number of studies, followed by China and India. The primary USA collaborators were China and England. The topics covered in the publications included: the general characteristics, the impact on pharmacists' work, the pharmacological research, broad-spectrum antiviral drug therapy and research, and promising targets or preventive measures, such as vaccine. The temporal diagram revealed that the current research hotspots focused on the vaccine, molecular docking, Mpro, and drug delivery keywords. Conclusion Comprehensive bibliometric analysis could aid the rapid identification of the principal research topics, potential collaborators, and the direction of future research. Pharmacological research is critical for the development of therapeutic and preventive COVID-19-associated measures. This study may therefore provide valuable information for eradicating COVID-19.

Abstract
Montmorillonite layer edge surfaces have pH-dependent properties, which arises from the acid-base reactivity of their surface functional groups. Edge surface acidity (with intrinsic reaction equilibrium constant, pKa) is a chemical property that is affected by crystal structure. While a cis-vacant structure predominates in natural montmorillonites, prior molecular-level studies assume a centrosymmetric trans-vacant configuration, which potentially leads to an incorrect prediction of montmorillonite acid-base surface properties. We computed intrinsic acidity constants of the surface sites of a montmorillonite layer with a cis-vacant structure using the first-principles molecular dynamics-based vertical energy gap method. We evaluated pKa values for both non-substituted and Mg-substituted layers on common edge surfaces (i.e., surfaces perpendicular to [010], [01̅0], [110], and [1̅1̅0] crystallographic directions). The functional groups ≡Si(OH), ≡Al(OH2)2/≡Al(OH)(OH2), and ≡SiO(OH)Al sites on surfaces perpendicular to [010] and [01̅0] and ≡Si(OH)U, ≡Si(OH)L, ≡Al(OH2), and ≡Al(OH2)2 on surfaces perpendicular to [110] and [1̅1̅0] determine the proton reactivity of non-substituted cis-vacant edge surfaces. Moreover, the structural OH sites on edge surfaces had extremely high pKa values, which do not show reactivity at a common pH. Meanwhile, Mg2+ substitution results in an increase in pKa values at local or adjacent sites, in which the effect is limited by the distance between the sites. A surface complexation model was built with predicted pKa values, which enabled us to predict surface properties as a function of pH and ionic strength. Edge surface charge of both trans- and cis-vacant models has little dependence on Mg2+ substitutions, but the dependence on the crystal plane orientation is strong. In particular, at pH below 7, edge surfaces are positively or negatively charged depending on their orientation. Implications of these findings on contaminant adsorption by smectites are discussed.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Regular functional exercise can help recover the functions of upper limb for patients with breast cancer. By finding the influencing factors of functional exercise compliance and constructing a predictive model, patients with a poor functional exercise compliance can be better identified. This study aims to find out the factors influencing the functional exercise compliance of patients with breast cancer and build a predictive model based on decision tree. METHODS Convenience sampling was used at two tertiary hospitals in Shantou from August 2020 to March 2021. Data of patients with breast cancer patient was obtained from questionnaires and based on demographics, Constant-Murley Score, Functional Exercise Compliance Scale for Postoperative Breast Cancer Patients, Champion Health Belief Model Scale, Social Support Rating Scale, Disease Perception Questionnaire and Family Care Index Questionnaire. Possible influencing factors of functional exercise compliance were analyzed using correlation analysis as well as univariate and binary logistic regression analysis through SPSS v25, and a CHAID decision tree was used to construct a predictive model on training, validation and test sets via SPSS Modeler v18 at a ratio of 6:2:2. Prediction accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and AUC were used to analyze the efficacy of the predictive model. RESULTS A total of 227 valid samples were collected, of which 145 were assessed with a poor compliance (63.9%). According to a logistic regression analysis, perceived benefits, time after surgery and self-efficacy were influencing factors. The prediction accuracy, sensitivity, specificity and AUC of the predictive model, based on a CHAID decision tree analysis, were 70.73%, 57.1%, 77.8% and 0.81 respectively. CONCLUSION The predictive model, based on a CHAID decision tree analysis, had a moderate predictive efficacy, which could be used as a clinical auxiliary tool for clinical nurses to predict patients' functional exercise compliance.

Abstract
First of all, the explosion-welding method was adopted to prepare steel fiber-reinforced steel-aluminum composite plates. Secondly, the smooth particle hydrodynamic (SPH) method was used to investigate the effect of introducing steel fibers to a vortex region created at the bonding interface of the steel-aluminum composite plate. Thirdly, the following conclusions were drawn through an analysis of the vortex region with the assistance of scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. A brittle intermetallic compound FeAl was produced in the vortex region in an environment characterized by high temperature, high pressure, and high strain rate, resulting in cracks, holes and pores. In addition, the hardness of the vortex area was less than the estimated value, which is mainly because the main element in the vortex area was 2A12 aluminum with low hardness, and there were cracks, holes, pores and other defects that caused hardness reduction. Although the addition of steel fibers caused defects at the bond interface, the addition of steel fibers was effective in improving the tensile resistance performance of steel-aluminum composite panels to a certain extent. In addition, the larger the fiber diameter, the more significant the increase in tensile resistance.

Abstract
To solve the technical problem that wheeled vehicles are prone to skidding on complex ground, due to poor adhesion performance, a tire-tread-structure design method based on the bionic principle is proposed in this paper. The 3D model of a goat's foot was obtained using reverse engineering technology, and the curve equation was fitted by extracting the contour data of its outer-hoof flap edge, which was applied to the tire-tread-structure design. The bionic and herringbone-pattern rubber samples were manufactured, and a soil-tank test was carried out using an electronic universal tensile-testing machine, in order to verify the simulation results. The results showed that the overall adhesion of the bionic tread-pattern was greater than that of the normal tread-pattern with the same load applied and the same height and angle of the tread-pattern structure, and the maximum adhesion was increased by 14.23%. This research will provide a reference for optimizing the pattern structure and thus improving the passing performance of wheeled vehicles.

Abstract
RATIONALE The therapeutic value of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in a variety of tumors has been found and recognized, and although ICIs have improved the prognosis of many patients with advanced tumors, these drugs sometimes cause immune-related adverse events (irAEs). PATIENT CONCERNS We report a 67-year-old woman with advanced rectal endocrine tumor. DIAGNOSIS AND INTERVENTIONS The patient was diagnosed as immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced myocarditis with myasthenia gravis overlap syndrome. The patient was transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) in time and given oxygen inhalation, glucocorticoids, immunoglobulin and anticholinesterase drugs, and other related treatments. OUTCOMES After 2 weeks, the symptoms of myasthenia gravis (MG) were relieved, and the level of myocardial injury markers decreased significantly, but it was still at a high level. The patient's family refused further treatment, and the patient died soon after. LESSONS In this paper, Through the report and follow-up analysis of this case, this paper recognizes that the early correct understanding and evaluation of this fulminant and fatal irAEs and the reasonable treatment of patients are very important for the prognosis of patients.

Abstract
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in urine are valuable biomarkers for noninvasive disease diagnosis. Herein, a facile coordination-driven modular assembly strategy is used for developing a library of gas-sensing materials based on porous MXene frameworks (MFs). Taking advantage of modules with diverse composition and tunable structure, our MFs-based library can provide more choices to satisfy gas-sensing demands. Meanwhile, the laser-induced graphene interdigital electrodes array and microchamber are laser-engraved for the assembly of a microchamber-hosted MF (MHMF) e-nose. Our MHMF e-nose possesses high-discriminative pattern recognition for simultaneous sensing and distinguishing of complex VOCs. Furthermore, with the MHMF e-nose being a plug-and-play module, a point-of-care testing (POCT) platform is modularly assembled for wireless and real-time monitoring of urinary volatiles from clinical samples. By virtue of machine learning, our POCT platform achieves noninvasive diagnosis of multiple diseases with a high accuracy of 91.7%, providing a favorable opportunity for early disease diagnosis, disease course monitoring, and relevant research.

Abstract
The evolution of ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenases (Rubiscos) that discriminate strongly between their substrate carbon dioxide and the undesired side substrate dioxygen was an important event for photosynthetic organisms adapting to an oxygenated environment. We use ancestral sequence reconstruction to recapitulate this event. We show that Rubisco increased its specificity and carboxylation efficiency through the gain of an accessory subunit before atmospheric oxygen was present. Using structural and biochemical approaches, we retrace how this subunit was gained and became essential. Our work illuminates the emergence of an adaptation to rising ambient oxygen levels, provides a template for investigating the function of interactions that have remained elusive because of their essentiality, and sheds light on the determinants of specificity in Rubisco.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Immunotherapy, especially immune checkpoint inhibitors, has been widely used in tumor therapy and have shown ideal clinical efficacy. However, some cancers still do not respond to PD-1/PD-L1 blockade therapy effectively. Helicobacter pylori infection might affect the curative effect of immunotherapy while it is rarely reported. We aimed to visualize the research hotspots and trends of H. pylori and immunotherapy using a bibliometric analysis to help understand the future development of basic and clinical research. METHODS The relevant publications on H. pylori and immunotherapy were searched on April 20, 2022, in the Web of Science Core Collection Database (WOSCC). The document types were limited to articles and reviews. The VOSviewer 1.6.16 software was used to assess the co-authorship, co-occurrence, citation of countries, institutions, authors, journals, and hotspot keywords. The research status and trend change of H. pylori and immunotherapy were analyzed by bibliometric analysis. RESULTS A total of 95 studies authored by 561 researchers were eventually included in this study. The majority of the retrieved studies were 55 (58%) original research articles. China conducted the greatest number of studies, followed by USA and Italy. The related topics included the following three aspects: the relationship between microorganisms and cancer, the relationship between gastric cancer and immunity, and the relationship between H. pylori and immunotherapy, including purified/cloned components of H. pylori acting as efficient adjuvant to boost tumor responses and H. pylori infection which modulate host immune responses and impact on the efficacy of antitumor immunity initiated by immune checkpoint inhibitors. The timing diagram revealed that the current research hotspots focused on effects of microorganisms on immunotherapy. CONCLUSION The effect of H. pylori on cancer immunotherapy is getting more and more attention in these years. It still remains uncertain, and more studies are needed in the future.

Abstract
The distributed optimal position control problem, which aims to cooperatively drive the networked uncertain nonlinear Euler-Lagrange (EL) systems to an optimal position that minimizes a global cost function, is investigated in this article. In the case without constraints for the positions, a fully distributed optimal position control protocol is first presented by applying adaptive parameter estimation and gain tuning techniques. As the environmental constraints for the positions are considered, we further provide an enhanced optimal control scheme by applying the ϵ -exact penalty function method. Different from the existing optimal control schemes of networked EL systems, the proposed adaptive control schemes have two merits. First, they are fully distributed in the sense without requiring any global information. Second, the control schemes are designed under the general unbalanced directed communication graphs. The simulations are performed to verify the obtained results.

Abstract
Backgrounds Chronic stress could induce depression-like phenotype in animal models. Previous data showed that sex differences exist after chronic stress model establishment, however, the detailed information about the difference of blood biochemical indexes is not clear. In this study, we aim to supply comparison of monoamine transmitters and related hormone markers in serum between male and female depressed mice, and in order to better understand the sex difference in transmitters and hormone levels in depression occurrence and development. Methods Sixty C57BL/6 mice (both male and female) were divided into two groups by gender. Same gender mice were then divided randomly into the non-treated control group and chronic stress group which was exposed to 8 weeks of chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS). Depression-like behavior was assessed with open-field test and sucrose preference test. Blood sample was collected and monoamine transmitter and related hormone in serum were measured by ELISA. Results The depression-like phenotype mice model was established successfully after 8 weeks of chronic stress. The locomotion activity scores in male stressed mice declined more than that in female stressed mice, while the exploratory behavior scores in female stressed mice declined more than that in male stressed mice. Compared to non-treated control group mice, mice in the chronic stress group in response to stress showed greater declines in monoamine transmitters (5-HT, dopamine, norepinephrine) and sex hormones (androgen, estrogen, oxytocin and prolactin), while stress hormones (adrenaline, corticosterone and ACTH) were significantly increased. The decrease of norepinephrine, androgen and estrogen in female stressed mice was greater than in male stressed mice, whereas the 5-HT and oxytocin in male stressed mice decreased more than in female stressed mice, and the corticosterone in male stressed mice increased more than in female stressed mice. Conclusion Sex differences of monoamine transmitter and related hormone levels in serum occurred in chronic stress induced depression-like phenotype mice model. It may provide a useful reference to guide precise antidepressant treatment in different gender population in clinical care.

Abstract
Dissolved silicic acid in the environment has strong affinity for actinides (An), but An(III)-silicate colloids have been scarcely investigated. In this study, Eu(III)-silicate colloids, an analogue to An(III)-silicate, were prepared and the aggregation kinetics of the colloids was investigated as a function of Eu content (Si/Eu molar ratio), pH, background electrolyte (NaCl, NaNO3, NaClO4, KCl and CsCl) and fulvic acid (FA). Results indicated that the colloids with higher Si/Eu molar ratio exhibited higher stability under the same conditions. The stability of the colloids increased with increasing aqueous pH (7.1-9.4) and decreasing ionic strength, and the inhibition effect of monovalent electrolytes on the colloid stability followed the order of Na+ < K+ < Cs+ and Cl- < NO3- < ClO4-. In addition, the presence of FA significantly increased the stability of the colloids. The dependence of the stability on the chemical conditions in all cases could be illustrated by DLVO theory. Disaggregation kinetics showed that the aggregation process of the colloids was not fully reversible, because a time-dependent size memory effect led to a bigger mean size of disaggregated colloids as compared to the initial ones. The present work provides detailed insight in the formation and stability of An(III)-silicate colloids under the alkaline conditions relevant to geological disposal of radioactive waste, which is critical for understanding the behavior of this type of colloids in the environment.

Abstract
Background Impaired semen quality and reproductive hormone levels were observed in patients during and after recovery from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which raised concerns about negative effects on male fertility. Therefore, this study systematically reviews available data on semen parameters and sex hormones in patients with COVID-19. Methods Systematic search was performed on PubMed and Google Scholar until July 18th, 2022. We identified relevant articles that discussed the effects of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) on male fertility. Results A total number of 1,684 articles were identified by using a suitable keyword search strategy. After screening, 26 articles were considered eligible for inclusion in this study. These articles included a total of 1,960 controls and 2,106 patients. When all studies were considered, the results showed that the semen parameters and sex hormone levels of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 exhibited some significant differences compared with controls. Fortunately, these differences gradually disappear as patients recover from COVID-19. Conclusion While present data show the negative effects of SARS-CoV-2 infection on male fertility, this does not appear to be long-term. Semen quality and hormone levels will gradually increase to normal as patients recover.

Abstract
Dependence can highly increase the vulnerability of interdependent networks under cascading failure. Recent studies have shown that a constant density of reinforced nodes can prevent catastrophic network collapses. However, the effect of reinforcing dependency links in interdependent networks has rarely been addressed. Here, we develop a percolation model for studying interdependent networks by introducing a fraction of reinforced dependency links. We find that there is a minimum fraction of dependency links that need to be reinforced to prevent the network from abrupt transition, and it can serve as the boundary value to distinguish between the first- and second-order phase transitions of the network. We give both analytical and numerical solutions to the minimum fraction of reinforced dependency links for random and scale-free networks. Interestingly, it is found that the upper bound of this fraction is a constant 0.088 01 for two interdependent random networks regardless of the average degree. In particular, we find that the proposed method has higher reinforcement efficiency compared to the node-reinforced method, and its superiority in scale-free networks becomes more obvious as the coupling strength increases. Moreover, the heterogeneity of the network structure profoundly affects the reinforcement efficiency. These findings may provide several useful suggestions for designing more resilient interdependent networks.

Abstract
This Letter reports the first measurement of high-energy reactor antineutrinos at Daya Bay, with nearly 9000 inverse beta decay candidates in the prompt energy region of 8-12 MeV observed over 1958 days of data collection. A multivariate analysis is used to separate 2500 signal events from background statistically. The hypothesis of no reactor antineutrinos with neutrino energy above 10 MeV is rejected with a significance of 6.2 standard deviations. A 29% antineutrino flux deficit in the prompt energy region of 8-11 MeV is observed compared to a recent model prediction. We provide the unfolded antineutrino spectrum above 7 MeV as a data-based reference for other experiments. This result provides the first direct observation of the production of antineutrinos from several high-Q_{β} isotopes in commercial reactors.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the transcriptional regulation mechanism and biological function of low expression of vasoactive intestinal peptide receptor 1 (VIPR1) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS We constructed plasmids carrying wild-type VIPR1 promoter or two mutant VIPR1 promoter sequences for transfection of the HCC cell lines Hep3B and Huh7, and examined the effect of AP-2α expression on VIPR1 promoter activity using dual-luciferase reporter assay. Pyrosequencing was performed to detect the changes in VIPR1 promoter methylation level in HCC cells treated with a DNA methyltransferase inhibitor (DAC). Chromatin immunoprecipitation was used to evaluate the binding ability of AP-2α to VIPR1 promoter. Western blotting was used to assess the effect of AP-2α knockdown on VIPR1 expression and examine the differential expression of VIPR1 in the two cell lines. The effects of VIPR1 overexpression and knockdown on the proliferation, cell cycle and apoptosis of HCC cells were analyzed using CCK8 assay and flow cytometry. We also observed the growth of HCC xenograft with lentivirus-mediated over-expression of VIPR1 in nude mice. RESULTS Compared with the wild-type VIPR1 promoter group, co-transfection with the vector carrying two promoter mutations and the AP-2α-over-expressing plasmid obviously restored the luciferase activity in HCC cells (P < 0.05). DAC treatment of the cells significantly decreased the methylation level of VIPR1 promoter and inhibited the binding of AP-2α to VIPR1 promoter (P < 0.01). The HCC cells with AP-2α knockdown showed increased VIPR1 expression, which was lower in Huh7 cells than in Hep3B cells. VIPR1 overexpression in HCC cells caused significant cell cycle arrest in G2/M phase (P < 0.01), promoted cell apoptosis (P < 0.001), and inhibited cell proliferation (P < 0.001), while VIPR1 knockdown produced the opposite effects. In the tumor-bearing nude mice, VIPR1 overexpression in the HCC cells significantly suppressed the increase of tumor volume (P < 0.001) and weight (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION VIPR1 promoter methylation in HCC promotes the binding of AP-2α and inhibits VIPR1 expression, while VIPR1 overexpression causes cell cycle arrest, promotes cell apoptosis, and inhibits cell proliferation and tumor growth.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of body mass index (BMI) on the recurrence risk of breast cancer. STUDY DESIGN Dose-response meta-analysis. METHODS Cohort studies that included BMI and the recurrence of breast cancer were selected through various databases including PubMed, Web of Science, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Scientific Journals (VIP), and Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform (WanFang) until November 30, 2021. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS) was used to evaluate the quality of literature. A two-stage random-effects meta-analysis was performed to assess the dose-response relationship between BMI and breast cancer recurrence risk. Heterogeneity between studies is assessed using I2. RESULTS The relative risk (RR) of BMI <25 kg/m2 vs BMI ≥25 kg/m2, BMI <30 kg/m2 vs BMI ≥30 kg/m2 were 1.09 (95% CI: 1.00-1.19) and 1.15 (95% CI: 1.04-1.27), suggesting that BMI had a significant effect on the recurrence risk of breast cancer, and there might be a dose-response relationship between them. A total of 21 studies were included in dose-response meta-analysis, which showed that there was a positive linear correlation between BMI and the risk of recurrence (RR = 1.02, 95% CI: 1.01-1.03). For every 1 kg/m2 increment of BMI, the risk of recurrence increased by approximately 2%. In subgroup analyses, positive linear dose-response relationships between BMI and recurrence risk were observed among Asian and study period >10 years groups. For every 1 kg/m2 increment of BMI, the risk of recurrence increased by 3.41% and 1.87%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS The recurrence risk of breast cancer increases with BMI, which is most obvious among Asian women.

Abstract
Background: Chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting severely impairs the treatment and prognosis of cancer patients. Depressive mood disorder might aggravate nausea and vomiting in cancer patients; however, the role of neurotransmitters and receptors involved in the mediation of emesis and nausea is still not well elaborated. Methods: The study was carried out based on the chronic unpredictable mild stress–induced depression-like phenotype rat model and cisplatin-induced pica rat model establishment. Forty male Sprague–Dawley rats were randomized into the non-treated control group and the chronic stress group, which were exposed to 8 weeks of stress. Each group was then sub-divided into vehicle subgroups (n = 10) and cisplatin subgroups (n = 10) which were given cisplatin to induce pica behavior. Kaolin and food intake were recorded after administration. The medulla oblongata and ileum tissues were obtained. Neurotransmitters involved in the mediation of emesis and nausea (5-HT, DA, SP, and AEA) were detected using an ELISA kit. Vomit-related receptors (5-HT3R, DA2R, NK1R, and CB1R) in tissues were assayed for mRNA and protein expression by RT-qPCR and Western blotting. Results: Behavioral test and sucrose preference validated that depression-like phenotype rat models were established successfully. The kaolin consumption test confirmed that chronic stress pretreatment aggravated anorexia and pica behavior. Vomiting-related molecules’ data showed that chronic stress exposure increased 5-HT and SP levels in the medulla oblongata. Vomiting-related receptor expression data showed that chronic stress pretreatment upregulated 5-HT3R, DA2R, and NK1R expressions and downregulated the CB1R expression in the medulla oblongata. However, chronic stress pretreatment downregulated 5-HT3R, DA2R, and NK1R expressions and upregulated the CB1R expression in the ileum. Conclusion: Chronic stress pretreatment aggravates anorexia and vomiting progress, which might be via altering neurotransmitters and receptors involved in the mediation of emesis and the nausea level and expression in the central nervous system.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Abscopal effect of radiotherapy refers to a clinical phenomenon that is characterized by the eradication of distant metastatic tumors following localized irradiation. Reports on the abscopal effect following pure radiotherapy have been relatively rare. CASE REPORT Herein, we reported a 70-year-old male patient, who has been subjected to swelling and pain in the left neck. Computed tomography examination presented a metastatic lymph node of the left cervical and an intra-abdominal mass which was located in hepatogastric space, upward of the pancreatic head. Histopathology of the left cervical lymph node further ensured a poorly-moderately differentiated form of squamous cell carcinoma. But the primary origin was not defined. This patient received radiotherapy on the metastatic lymph nodes of the left cervical (dose: 60 Gray in 30 fractions) only. After treatment, the pain in the left neck dramatically improved and the swelling of the radiation exposure site diminished gradually. Computed tomography examination also confirmed that the abdominal mass was significantly reduced. CONCLUSIONS The abscopal effect, in this case, may help us to get a better understanding of the impact of radiotherapy.

While epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) have been implicated in breast cancer growth and progression, less is known about their effects on oncogene transcription. We have previously found that the oncogenic regioisomer (±)14,15-EET drives mitochondrial respiration, ATP synthesis, and proliferation of ER+/HER2- breast cancer cells [Cell Chem Biol. 2017 Oct 19;24(10):1259-1275]. RNAseq analysis was performed (5 replicates per condition) on serum starved (16 hours) MCF-7 cells which were then treated with (±)14,15-EET or vehicle (2 hours; serum and phenol red free medium without estradiol). Using gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA), we found that (±)14,15-EET activated an estrogen receptor alpha (ER) hallmark early response gene set and synchronously activated a MYC hallmark gene set. With activation of the MYC hallmark gene set, c-Myc gene expression was also induced at 2 hours (3.99-fold; P=2.3 x 10-17; FDR=2.8 x 10-14). These data suggest an alternative pathway for activation of estrogen and MYC regulated genes in the absence of estradiol. The 15 genes most transcriptionally activated by (±)14,15-EET at 2 hours were: VMP1, ZFP36, JUNB, FOS, IER3, EGR1, IER5L, ELF3, JUN, NR4A1, HES1, DUSP1, MYC, TOB1, and CITED2 [fold change range: 3.25 (CITED2) to 90.5 (FOS); all P< 2.86 x 10-17; all FDR < 3.03 x 10-14]. The ER regulated genes most transcriptionally activated (>1.5 fold) were: IER3, TOB1, AREG, CISH, KCNMB3, and PDK4 (fold change range: 1.77 to 4.35; P= 1.74 x 10-18 to 1.35 x 10-5; FDR=5.54 x 10-15 to 6.4 x 10-4). The MYC regulated genes most transcriptionally activated (> 1.5-fold change) were EIF4A1 (fold change= 2.37; P=1.0 x 10-7; FDR=1.33 x 10-5), IRF9 (fold change=1.58; P=0.0044; FDR= 0.026), and FOSL1 (fold change=1.51; P=0.008; FDR=0.04). Supporting the hypothesis of (±)14,15-EET activation of ER-regulated transcription, (±)14,15-EET promoted nuclear translocation of ER at 1 hour measured by DAPI normalized immunofluorescence [MCF-7 nuclear ER increase of 1.66-fold (P=0.031); ZR75-1 nuclear ER increase of 1.77-fold (P=0.015)]. Supporting the hypothesis of (±)14,15-EET activation of MYC-regulated transcription, (±)14,15-EET treatment promoted nuclear translocation of c-Myc with MCF-7 cells exhibiting a 1.22-fold increase at 2 hours (P=0.002). (±)14,15-EET also promoted nuclear translocation of FITC-70 kDa dextran with MCF-7 cells exhibiting an increase of 1.35-fold at 1 hour (P=0.029). These data suggest that (±)14,15-EET can induce an estradiol-like immediate early gene response in ER+/HER2- breast cancer cells correlating with c-Myc activation. In summary, while the effect of (±)14,15-EET on nuclear translocation may be partially cargo agnostic, (±)14,15-EET promotes ER and c-Myc nuclear translocation and associated transcription, mimicking a tandem hormonal and growth factor response.
