Abstract
BACKGROUND Tomosynthesis-guided vacuum assisted breast biopsy (3D-VAB) has been used increasingly. The aim of our study is to compare the clinical effectiveness of 3D-VAB and stereotactic vacuum assisted biopsy (2D-VAB) on the number of tissue cores containing targeted calcifications and on the procedure time. METHODS Consecutive 87 women who underwent biopsy at our hospital from April 2020 to March 2022 for calcifications mammographically suspicious of malignancy were included in this study: 57 patients with 3D-VAB and 30 patients with 2D-VAB. RESULTS Grouped or clustered calcified lesions were found in 39 and 21 patients among the 3D-VAB group and the 2D-VAB group, respectively. The mean number of tissue cores per biopsy containing targeted calcifications from the grouped or clustered calcified lesions was 3 and 2.3 specimens for the 3D-VAB group and for the 2D-VAB group, respectively. The mean procedure time for grouped or clustered calcifications was significantly shorter in the 3D-VAB group than in the 2D-VAB group (16.5 min vs. 27.4 min, P < 0.01). Comparing the procedure time between 3D-VAB and 2D-VAB based on calcification category, 3D-VAB had significantly shorter procedure time than 2D-VAB for both category 3 and category 4 calcification. For all patients, the mean procedure time was 18.1 min for the 3D-VAB group and 27.7 min for the 2D-VAB, thus being significantly shorter with 3D-VAB than 2D-VAB (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION Our study demonstrated that the clinical effectiveness of 3D-VAB is superior to that of 2D-VAB and that the significant reduction in examination time with 3D-VAB is expected to benefit patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To compare the diagnostic performance of Lung-RADS (lung imaging-reporting and data system) 2022 and PNI-GARS (pulmonary node imaging-grading and reporting system). METHODS Pulmonary nodules (PNs) were selected at four centers, namely, CQ Center (January 1, 2018-December 31, 2021), HB Center (January 1, 2021-June 30, 2022), SC Center (September 1, 2021-December 31, 2021), and SX Center (January 1, 2021-December 31, 2021). PNs were divided into solid nodules (SNs), partial solid nodules (PSNs) and ground-glass nodules (GGNs), and they were then classified by the Lung-RADS and PNI-GARS. The sensitivity, specificity and agreement rate were compared between the two systems by the χ2 test. RESULTS For SN and PSN, the sensitivity of PNI-GARS and Lung-RADS was close (SN 99.8% vs. 99.4%, P < 0.001; PSN 99.9% vs. 98.4%, P = 0.015), but the specificity (SN 51.2% > 35.1%, PSN 13.3% > 5.7%, all P < 0.001) and agreement rate (SN 81.1% > 74.5%, P < 0.001, PSN 94.6% > 92.7%, all P < 0.05) of PNI-GARS were superior to those of Lung-RADS. For GGN, the sensitivity (96.5%) and agreement rate (88.6%) of PNI-GARS were better than those of Lung-RADS (0, 18.5%, P < 0.001). For the whole sample, the sensitivity (98.5%) and agreement rate (87.0%) of PNI-GARS were better than Lung-RADS (57.5%, 56.5%, all P < 0.001), whereas the specificity was slightly lower (49.8% < 53.4%, P = 0.003). CONCLUSION PNI-GARS was superior to Lung-RADS in diagnostic performance, especially for GGN.

Abstract
Coherence in the science and practice of mental health assessment depends upon a tight connection between psychopathology concepts that are used and the way those concepts are operationalized and defined. In contrast, the use of the same word to mean more than one thing contributes to incoherence, inefficiency, and confusion. In this paper, we review three possible meanings of the word "dimension" as it relates to the assessment of psychopathology and describe how the indiscriminate use of this word has caused confusion in the general context of the transition to a more evidence-based approach to mental health diagnosis. We attempt to disambiguate the term "dimension" by demarcating three concepts that can be distinguished based on different empirical standards: continuous variables, unidimensional dimensions, and distinct dimensions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Globally, there are more than 25 licensed antipsychotic medications. Antipsychotics are commonly described as either typical or atypical, but this dichotomous classification does not reflect the diversity of their pharmacological and clinical profiles. There is a need for a data-driven antipsychotic classification scheme suitable for clinicians and researchers that maps onto both pharmacological and clinical effects. Receptor affinity provides one starting point for such a scheme. METHODS We analyzed affinities of 27 antipsychotics for 42 receptors from 3325 in vitro receptor binding studies. We used a clustering algorithm to group antipsychotics based on receptor affinity. Using a machine learning model, we examined the ability of this grouping to predict antipsychotic-induced clinical effects quantified according to an umbrella review of clinical trial and treatment guideline data. RESULTS Clustering resulted in 4 groups of antipsychotics. The predominant receptor affinity and clinical effect "fingerprints" of these 4 groups were defined as follows: group 1, muscarinic (M2-M5) receptor antagonism (cholinergic and metabolic side effects); group 2, dopamine (D2) partial agonism and adrenergic antagonism (overall low side-effect burden); group 3, serotonergic and dopaminergic antagonism (overall moderate side-effect burden); and group 4, dopaminergic antagonism (extrapyramidal side effects and hyperprolactinemia). Groups 1 and 4 were more efficacious than groups 2 and 3. The classification was shown to predict out-of-sample clinical effects of individual drugs. CONCLUSIONS A receptor affinity-based grouping not only reflects compound pharmacology but also detects meaningful clinical differences. This approach has the potential to benefit both patients and researchers by guiding treatment and informing drug development.

Abstract
A commonplace sight is seeing other people walk. Our visual system specializes in processing such actions. Notably, we are not only quick to recognize actions, but also quick to judge how elegantly (or not) people walk. What movements appear appealing, and why do we have such aesthetic experiences? Do aesthetic preferences for body movements arise simply from perceiving others' positive emotions? To answer these questions, we showed observers different point-light walkers who expressed neutral, happy, angry, or sad emotions through their movements and measured the observers' impressions of aesthetic appeal, emotion positivity, and naturalness of these movements. Three experiments were conducted. People showed consensus in aesthetic impressions even after controlling for emotion positivity, finding prototypical walks more aesthetically pleasing than atypical walks. This aesthetic prototype effect could be accounted for by a computational model in which walking actions are treated as a single category (as opposed to multiple emotion categories). The aesthetic impressions were affected both directly by the objective prototypicality of the movements, and indirectly through the mediation of perceived naturalness. These findings extend the boundary of category learning, and hint at possible functions for action aesthetics.

Abstract
The seminal observations of Dr. George Papanicolaou have grown, through the untiring efforts of many authors, into a universally accepted format of cytology reporting. This has helped immensely to improve the understanding of pathogenesis of cervical cancer. The insights into the complexity of interaction of the etiological and the host factors have further helped in reframing of the reporting system. The Bethesda System (TBS) stands out as a model of standardized reporting in cervicovaginal cytology. Apart from its reproducibility, it reflects the most current understanding of cervical cancer. The most important feature is its clinical relevance. Each category of this classification has clear clinical implications, which are based on solid evidence and worldwide consensus. Moreover, the authors have tried to keep it updated through continuous revisions, incorporating the technological and scientific advances. The component of specimen adequacy reflects the importance it has given to the quality assurance of the laboratory preparation. The minimization of categories, simple terminology, and the supporting image atlas - both in the print form and the web-based form, have made TBS an exemplary teaching-learning resource. The wide accessibility of TBS has been the most important factor in being adopted by a majority of pathology community all over the world.

Abstract
Introduction Verbal fluency is a cognitive function that can be easily assessed at the bedside and provide valuable data for clinical assessment of various cognitive functions. We decided to provide a standardized test to assess verbal fluency in the Persian language, including both phonemic and semantic fluency subtests. Methods First, three phonemes (/p/, /d/, and /ʃ/) and three categories (animals, fruits, and kitchen appliances) were selected based on a pilot study and a panel of specialists. Then, we selected 500 Persian-speaking participants (47.8% male) aged 18 to 65 years via a convenient sampling method from the general population. Participants were grouped according to age, gender, and education. They performed the verbal fluency test. Results The Mean±SD number of generated words in letter fluency and semantic fluency was 8.3±4.1 and 18.0±5.5, respectively. Age, educational level, and mother tongue were associated with letter fluency. Semantic fluency was associated with age, gender, education level, and mother tongue. Conclusion For a more reliable clinical assessment, we suggest using all three letters (phonemes) and three semantic categories for each subject, calculating the mean of the produced words, and comparing them with the suggested cut-off points provided for each subcategory. Age was negatively correlated with the number of generated words in letter fluency (r=-0.33; P<0.001) and semantic fluency tasks (r=-0.26; P<0.001). In the letter fluency task, there was no statistically significant difference between males and females according to the number of generated words (P=0.057). However, in semantic fluency, female participants generated more words (P=0.005). Mother tongue (Farsi) showed a significant effect both on letter fluency (t=5.55, P<0.001) and semantic fluency (t=9.41, P<0.001). Level of education had a significant association with both letter fluency (F=117.23, P<0.001) and semantic fluency (F=64.48, P<0.001). Highlights The study subjects generated 8.3±4.1 words in one minute in the letter fluency test.Letter fluency was associated with educational level and mother tongue.The Mean±SD number of generated words in semantic fluency (18±5.5) was higher than letter fluency.Semantic fluency was associated with age, gender, education level, and mother tongue. Plain Language Summary Practitioners use neuropsychological tests to diagnose mental problems. Verbal fluency is a test in which participants have to generate as many words as possible from a specified category in a given time. This category can be phonemic (letter), which means words beginning with a specified letter or semantic, including objects such as animals or fruits. The number of words produced by participants is essential, and if it is fewer than normal, it shows psychological or neurological conditions such as Alzheimer disease. The norms are variable in different languages, cultures, and educational levels. We found that the Mean±SD numbers of generated words in letter fluency and semantic fluency were 8.3±4.1 and 18.0±5.5, respectively. These values can be used for neuropsychological testing in the Iranian population.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A number of predictive models for aquatic toxicity are available, however, the accuracy and extent of easy to use of these in silico tools in risk assessment still need further studied. This study evaluated the performance of seven in silico tools to daphnia and fish: ECOSAR, T.E.S.T., Danish QSAR Database, VEGA, KATE, Read Across and Trent Analysis. 37 Priority Controlled Chemicals in China (PCCs) and 92 New Chemicals (NCs) were used as validation dataset. RESULTS In the quantitative evaluation to PCCs with the criteria of 10-fold difference between experimental value and estimated value, the accuracies of VEGA is the highest among all of the models, both in prediction of daphnia and fish acute toxicity, with accuracies of 100% and 90% after considering AD, respectively. The performance of KATE, ECOSAR and T.E.S.T. is similar, with accuracies are slightly lower than VEGA. The accuracy of Danish Q.D. is the lowest among the above tools with which QSAR is the main mechanism. The performance of Read Across and Trent Analysis is lowest among all of the tested in silico tools. The predictive ability of models to NCs was lower than that of PCCs possibly because never appeared in training set of the models, and ECOSAR perform best than other in silico tools. CONCLUSION QSAR based in silico tools had the greater prediction accuracy than category approach (Read Across and Trent Analysis) in predicting the acute toxicity of daphnia and fish. Category approach (Read Across and Trent Analysis) requires expert knowledge to be utilized effectively. ECOSAR performs well in both PCCs and NCs, and the application shoud be promoted in both risk assessment and priority activities. We suggest that distribution of multiple data and water solubility should be considered when developing in silico models. Both more intelligent in silico tools and testing are necessary to identify hazards of Chemicals.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To investigate the distribution of corneal astigmatism, aberration, and biometric parameters in Chinese congenital cataract (CC) /developmental cataract patients before cataract surgery. METHODS We evaluated eyes of CC /developmental cataract patients scheduled for cataract surgery from January 2016 to September 2019. Astigmatism, aberrations, and biometric parameters were measured with the Pentacam Scheimpflug imaging device (Pentacam HR, Oculus). Cataract was diagnosed and classified by slit-lamp examination after full mydriasis. RESULTS We evaluated 538 eyes in 356 patients. The mean values of anterior corneal astigmatism (ACA), posterior corneal astigmatism (PCA), and total corneal astigmatism (TCA) were determined as 1.98 ± 1.06 D (range 0.0‒4.8 D), 0.49 ± 0.26 D (range 0.0‒1.9 D), and 2.09 ± 1.19 D (range 0.2‒8.8 D), respectively. ACA and TCA ≥ 1.25 D was present in 379 eyes (70.3%) and 392 eyes (72.8%), respectively. PCA between 0.25 D and 0.75 D was found in 380 eyes (70.6%). There was a statistically significant positive linear correlation between lower-order aberrations root mean square values (LOA RMS) and corneal astigmatism (CA). Furthermore, in terms of distribution of central cornea thickness, anterior chamber depth, ACA, PCA, and TCA in different types of cataracts, ACA was highest in patients with zonular cataracts. Finally, we found anterior corneal measurements may overestimate WTR astigmatism, underestimate ATR astigmatism, and underestimate oblique astigmatism, respectively. CONCLUSIONS Most CC /developmental cataract patients had moderate to high astigmatism and ACA accounted for the largest proportion in the zonular group. This can provide a basis for planning of CC/developmental cataract surgery by ophthalmologists in clinical practice.

Abstract
During evolution, living systems, actively interacting with their environment, developed the ability, through sensorimotor contingencies, to construct functional spaces shaping their perception and their movements. These geometries were modularly embedded in specific functional neuro-architectures. In particular, human movements were shown to obey several empirical laws, such as the 2/3 power law, isochrony, or jerk minimization principles, which constrain and adapt motor planning and execution. Outstandingly, such laws can be deduced from a combination of Euclidean, affine, and equi-affine geometries, whose neural correlates have been partly detected in several brain areas including the cerebellum and the basal ganglia. Reviving Pellionisz and Llinas general hypothesis regarding the cerebrum and the cerebellum as geometric machines, we speculate that the cerebellum should be involved in implementing and/or selecting task-specific geometries for motor and cognitive skills. More precisely, the cerebellum is assumed to compute forward internal models to help specific cortical and subcortical regions to select appropriate geometries among, at least, Euclidean and affine geometries. We emphasize that the geometrical role of the cerebellum deserves a renewal of interest, which may provide a better understanding of its specific contributions to motor and associative (cognitive) functions.

Abstract
The fate of “clade,” both as concept and word, is reconstructed here beginning with its first appearance in 1866 as “Cladus,” in Haeckel’s Generelle Morphologie, continuing up to the present. Although central to phylogenetics, the concept of clade is paradoxical since it has been ambiguously understood or even misunderstood by its own promoters. Writings by Ernst Haeckel, Lucien Cuénot, and Julian Huxley, the three authors who discussed the notion of clade at length, are analyzed here in detail as a means of exploring this paradox. First conceived as a rank for a higher-level category, and later as a taxon, the clade is understood today in connection with Hennig’s definition of a monophyletic group rather than through Huxley’s successful but somehow ambiguous formalization. The inability of these authors to formulate a clear-cut exposition of the concept is considered here within three contexts: firstly, the burden of pre-Darwinian classifications based on similarity; secondly, the underestimation of Darwin’s description of a genealogical group; and thirdly, the predominance of thinking in process (vs thinking in pattern), which was the basis of evolutionary systematics in the mid-twentieth century.

Abstract
People with primary progressive aphasia (PPA) present language difficulties that require lengthy assessments and follow-ups. Despite individual differences, people with PPA are often classified into three variants that present some distinctive language difficulties. We analyzed the data of 6 fluency tasks (i.e., "F", "A", "S", "Fruits", "Animals", "Vegetables"). We used random forests to pinpoint relevant word properties and error types in the classification of the three PPA variants, conditional inference trees to indicate how relevant variables may interact with one another and ANOVAs to cross-validate the results. Results indicate that total word count helps distinguish healthy individuals (N = 10) from people with PPA (N = 29). Furthermore, mean familiarity differentiates people with svPPA (N = 8) from people with lvPPA (N = 10) and nfvPPA (N = 11). No other word property or error type was relevant in the classification. These results relate to previous literature, as familiarity effects have been reported in people with svPPA in naming and spontaneous speech. Also, they strengthen the relevance of using familiarity to identify a specific group of people with PPA. This paper enhances our understanding of what determines word retrieval in people with PPA, complementing and extending data from naming studies.

Abstract
Taxometric procedures have been used extensively to investigate whether individual differences in personality and psychopathology are latently dimensional or categorical ('taxonic'). We report the first meta-analysis of taxometric research, examining 317 findings drawn from 183 articles that employed an index of the comparative fit of observed data to dimensional and taxonic data simulations. Findings supporting dimensional models outnumbered those supporting taxonic models five to one. There were systematic differences among 17 construct domains in support for the two models, but psychopathology was no more likely to generate taxonic findings than normal variation (i.e. individual differences in personality, response styles, gender, and sexuality). No content domain showed aggregate support for the taxonic model. Six variables - alcohol use disorder, intermittent explosive disorder, problem gambling, autism, suicide risk, and pedophilia - emerged as the most plausible taxon candidates based on a preponderance of independently replicated findings. We also compared the 317 meta-analyzed findings to 185 additional taxometric findings from 96 articles that did not employ the comparative fit index. Studies that used the index were 4.88 times more likely to generate dimensional findings than those that did not after controlling for construct domain, implying that many taxonic findings obtained before the popularization of simulation-based techniques are spurious. The meta-analytic findings support the conclusion that the great majority of psychological differences between people are latently continuous, and that psychopathology is no exception.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The nomenclature of both intralobar pulmonary sequestration (ILS) and aortic origin of a pulmonary artery (AOPA) remains controversial. According to this review, both ILS and AOPA have an anomalous systemic arterial supply to all or part of the lung with venous drainage into the pulmonary veins, which leads to pulmonary hypertension, congestive heart failure, and fatal pulmonary haemorrhage. The purpose of this review was to consider whether these two rare congenital anomalies have similar anatomical, clinical and pathological characteristics. METHODS This review was conducted by researching relevant literature using PubMed and MEDLINE databases to January 2019. All researched literature was related to the anatomical, associated anomalies, pathophysiology and clinical features of the extralobar pulmonary sequestration (ELS), ILS, and AOPA, and the therapeutic method for ILS and AOPA. RESULTS Through research literature, it was found that ILS and AOPA may differ in terms of embryonic origin, but some of the anatomical, histopathological, physiological and clinical features of these two congenital malformations are similar. However, ELS and ILS have significant differences in their anatomical, histopathological, physiological, and clinical features. CONCLUSIONS This study proposes that ILS and AOPA could be classified as one single condition - systemic arterialisation of the lung - and further divided into three subtypes, namely: types I, II and III. This new classification nomenclature permits the appropriate change of novel surgical techniques, which obviate the need for lobectomy or segmentectomy in specific cases, thereby minimising fatal postoperative complications.

Abstract
The Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) paradigm was launched 10 years ago as a superior approach for investigation of mental illness. RDoC conceptualizes normal human behavior, emotion, and cognition as dimensional, with mental illnesses as dimensional extremes. We suggest that RDoC may have value for understanding normal human psychology and some conditions plausibly construed as extremes of normal variation. By contrast, for the most serious of mental illnesses, including dementia, autism, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, we argue that RDoC is conceptually flawed. RDoC conflates variation along dimensional axes of normal function with quantitative measurements of disease phenotypes and with the occurrence of diseases in overlapping clusters or spectra. This moves away from the disease model of major mental illness. Further, RDoC imposes a top-down approach to research. We argue that progress in major mental illness research will be more rapid with a bottom-up approach, starting with the discovery of etiological factors, proceeding to investigation of pathogenic pathways, including use of cell and animal models, and leading to a refined nosology and novel, targeted treatments.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the diagnostic performance of Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) v2017 major features, the impact of ancillary features, and categories on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CECT) for the diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). MATERIALS AND METHODS This retrospective study included 59 patients (104 observations including 72 HCCs) with clinical suspicion of HCC undergoing CECT between 2013 and 2016. Two radiologists independently assessed major and ancillary imaging features for each liver observation and assigned a LI-RADS category based on major features only and in combination with ancillary features. The composite reference standard included pathology or imaging. Per-lesion estimates of diagnostic performance of major features, ancillary features, and LI-RADS categories were assessed by generalized estimating equation models. RESULTS Major features (arterial phase hyperenhancement, washout, capsule, and threshold growth) respectively had a sensitivity of 86.1%, 81.6%, 20.7%, and 26.1% and specificity of 39.3%, 67.9%, 89.9%, and 85.0% for HCC. Ancillary features (ultrasound visibility as discrete nodule, subthreshold growth, and fat in mass more than adjacent liver) respectively had a sensitivity of 42.6%, 50.8%, and 15.1% and a specificity of 79.2%, 66.9%, and 96.4% for HCC. Ancillary features modified the final category in 4 of 104 observations. For HCC diagnosis, categories LR-3, LR-4, LR-5, and LR-TIV (tumor in vein) had a sensitivity of 5.3%, 29.0%, 53.7%, and 10.7%; and a specificity of 49.1%, 84.4%, 97.3%, and 96.4%, respectively. CONCLUSION On CT, LR-5 category has near-perfect specificity for the diagnosis of HCC and ancillary features modifies the final category in few observations.

Abstract
The Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) scheme has guided the research agenda of the National Institute of Mental Health for the past decade. The essence of RDoC is its dimensional conception of mental illness, with the assumption that psychopathology is a manifestation of extremes along axes of neuropsychological variation. Research, it follows, should emphasize normal neuropsychological function and its associated neurocircuitry. We argue that RDoC, dressed in terms of modern neurobiology, is in fact a return to the humoral theory of Galen, a dimensional approach in which physical and mental health requires a balance of the four basic bodily humors (blood, black bile, yellow bile, and phlegm). The RDoC/Galenic approach may be useful in understanding those conditions best understood as extremes along a continuum, such as personality disorders. However, we contend that for the most severe psychiatric disorders - categorically defined diseases such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and autism - RDoC's Galenic dimensionalism is a retreat from the biomedical approach that seeks to find rational therapeutic targets by identifying etiologic factors and pathogenic pathways. Abandoning this medical model now, in the context of remarkable advances in genetics, neuroimaging, and neuroscience, is a major setback for the advancement of scientific psychiatry.

Abstract
PURPOSE To analyze the association of breast non-mass enhancement descriptors in the BI-RADS 5th edition with malignancy, and to establish a grading system and categorization of descriptors. MATERIALS AND METHODS This study was approved by our institutional review board. A total of 213 patients were enrolled. Breast MRI was performed with a 1.5-T MRI scanner using a 16-channel breast radiofrequency coil. Two radiologists determined internal enhancement and distribution of non-mass enhancement by consensus. Corresponding pathologic diagnoses were obtained by either biopsy or surgery. The probability of malignancy by descriptor was analyzed using Fisher's exact test and multivariate logistic regression analysis. The probability of malignancy by category was analyzed using Fisher's exact and multi-group comparison tests. RESULTS One hundred seventy-eight lesions were malignant. Multivariate model analysis showed that internal enhancement (homogeneous vs others, p < 0.001, heterogeneous and clumped vs clustered ring, p = 0.003) and distribution (focal and linear vs segmental, p < 0.001) were the significant explanatory variables. The descriptors were classified into three grades of suspicion, and the categorization (3, 4A, 4B, 4C, and 5) by sum-up grades showed an incremental increase in the probability of malignancy (p < 0.0001). CONCLUSION The three-grade criteria and categorization by sum-up grades of descriptors appear valid for non-mass enhancement.

Abstract
Contingent attentional capture suggests that top-down attentional control settings (ACS) can enhance attentional processing of task-relevant properties and inhibit attentional processing of task-irrelevant properties. However, it remains unclear how ACS operates when a distractor has both task-relevant and task-irrelevant characteristics. In the present study, two lateralized ERP components, N2pc and distractor positivity (Pd), were employed as markers of attentional enhancement and inhibition, respectively. The degree of matching between a distractor and a conjunctively defined target was manipulated to illustrate attentional guidance by category-specific ACS (cACS) and feature-specific ACS (fACS), and the relative position between the distractor and the target was manipulated to isolate the processing of the distractor and the target. Experiment 1 showed that, with a long display duration for searching, a reliable N2pc component was elicited by a distractor that was feature-matched but category-mismatched (C-F+) relative to the target-defined properties, suggesting an enhancing effect of fACS. In contrast, Experiment 2 demonstrated that, with a short display duration, a Pd component was elicited by a distractor that was feature-mismatched but category-matched (C+F-) relative to the target-defined properties, suggesting an inhibitory effect of fACS. Moreover, both attentional enhancement and inhibition were only triggered by fACS but not by cACS. In summary, ACS can enhance target-relevant properties or inhibit target-irrelevant properties in response to the display duration, and fACS affects both enhancement and inhibition more than cACS.

Abstract
Neuroimaging studies have found distinct patterns of neural response to different categories of scene in scene-selective regions of the human brain. However, it is not clear how information about scene category is represented in these regions. Images from different categories vary systematically in their visual properties as well as their semantic category. So, it is possible that patterns of neural response could reflect variation in visual properties. To address this question, we used fMRI to measure patterns of neural response to intact and scrambled scene categories. Although scrambling preserved many of their visual characteristics, perception of scene categories was severely impaired. Nevertheless, we found distinct patterns of response to different scene categories in the parahippocampal place area (PPA) and the occipital place area (OPA) for both intact and scrambled scenes. Moreover, intact and scrambled scenes produced highly similar patterns of response. Our finding that reliable and distinct patterns of response in scene-selective regions are still evident when categorical perception is impaired suggests that visual properties play an important role in the topographic organization of these regions.

Abstract
Previous studies have shown that the amygdala is more involved in processing animate categories, such as humans and animals, than inanimate objects, but little is known regarding whether this animate advantage applies to auditory stimuli. To address this issue, we performed a functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) study with emotion and category as factors, in which subjects heard sounds from different categories (i.e., humans, animals, and objects) in negative and neutral dimensions. Emotional levels and semantic familiarity were matched across categories. The results showed that the amygdala responded more to human vocalization than to animal vocalization and sounds of inanimate objects in both negative and neutral valences, and more to animal sounds than to objects in neural condition. In addition, the amygdala, together with the insula and the right superior temporal sulcus, further distinguished human voices from animal sounds. These data indicated that the amygdala is prepared to respond to animate sources, especially human vocalizations in auditory modality.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The categories of functional psychoses build on views of influential professionals. There have long been four main categories - affective, schizophrenic, schizoaffective/cycloid/reactive/polymorphic, and delusional/paranoid psychoses. The last three are included in "psychotic disorders". However, this dichotomy and the distinctions between categories may have been over-estimated and contributed to lack of progress. TEN TOPICS RELEVANT FOR THE DIAGNOSIS OF FUNCTIONAL PSYCHOSES 1. The categories of functional psychoses have varied with time, place and professionals' views, with moving boundaries, especially between schizophrenia and affective psychoses. 2. Catatonia is most often related to affective and organic psychoses, and paranoia is related to grandiosity and guilt, calling in question catatonic and paranoid schizophrenia. Arguments exist for schizophrenia being a "misdiagnosis". 3. In some countries schizophrenia has been renamed, with positive consequences. 4. The doctrine of "unitary psychosis", which included abnormal affect, was left in the second half of the 1800s. 5. This was followed by a dichotomy between schizophrenia and affective psychoses and broadening of the schizophrenia concept, whereas affective symptoms were strongly downgraded. 6. Many homogeneous psychoses with mixtures of schizophrenic and affective symptoms were described and related to "psychotic disorders", although they might as well be affective disorders. 7. Critique of the extensive schizophrenia concept led to, in DSM-III and ICD-10, affective symptoms being exclusion criteria for schizophrenia and acceptance of mood-incongruent psychotic symptoms in affective psychoses. 8. However, affective symptoms are often difficult to acknowledge, diagnosis is often done on the basis of tradition and previous education, and patients' affect characterized accordingly. 9. DSM-5 is up-dated with separate chapters for catatonia and psychotic symptoms, and removal of the subtypes of schizophrenia. However, time may be running out for categorical psychosis diagnoses, which may be replaced by continuum, spectrum, dimensional and research domain criteria, in line with new biological data 10. This is supported by treatment responses across categories. CONCLUSION The time-consuming works on diagnosis of psychoses may have hampered progress. Chronic mood disorders may appear as schizophrenic or paranoid psychosis, end-stages like heart failure in heart diseases. This underscores the importance of early and optimal treatment of mood disorders.

Abstract
Previous research indicates that dissociable neural subsystems underlie abstract-category (AC) recognition and priming of objects (e.g., cat, piano) and specific-exemplar (SE) recognition and priming of objects (e.g., a calico cat, a different calico cat, a grand piano, etc.). However, the degree of separability between these subsystems is not known, despite the importance of this issue for assessing relevant theories. Visual object representations are widely distributed in visual cortex, thus a multivariate pattern analysis (MVPA) approach to analyzing functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data may be critical for assessing the separability of different kinds of visual object processing. Here we examined the neural representations of visual object categories and visual object exemplars using multi-voxel pattern analyses of brain activity elicited in visual object processing areas during a repetition-priming task. In the encoding phase, participants viewed visual objects and the printed names of other objects. In the subsequent test phase, participants identified objects that were either same-exemplar primed, different-exemplar primed, word-primed, or unprimed. In visual object processing areas, classifiers were trained to distinguish same-exemplar primed objects from word-primed objects. Then, the abilities of these classifiers to discriminate different-exemplar primed objects and word-primed objects (reflecting AC priming) and to discriminate same-exemplar primed objects and different-exemplar primed objects (reflecting SE priming) was assessed. Results indicated that (a) repetition priming in occipital-temporal regions is organized asymmetrically, such that AC priming is more prevalent in the left hemisphere and SE priming is more prevalent in the right hemisphere, and (b) AC and SE subsystems are weakly modular, not strongly modular or unified.

Abstract
Gene set analysis (GSA) incorporates biological information into statistical knowledge to identify gene sets differently expressed between two or more phenotypes. It allows us to gain an insight into the functional working mechanism of cells beyond the detection of differently expressed gene sets. In order to evaluate the competence of GSA approaches, three self-contained GSA approaches with different statistical methods were chosen; Category, Globaltest and Hotelling's T(2) together with their assayed power to identify the differences expressed via simulation and real microarray data. The Category does not take care of the correlation structure, while the other two deal with correlations. In order to perform these methods, R and Bioconductor were used. Furthermore, venous thromboembolism and acute lymphoblastic leukemia microarray data were applied. The results of three GSAs showed that the competence of these methods depends on the distribution of gene expression in a dataset. It is very important to assay the distribution of gene expression data before choosing the GSA method to identify gene sets differently expressed between phenotypes. On the other hand, assessment of common genes among significant gene sets indicated that there was a significant agreement between the result of GSA and the findings of biologists.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of different periods of ovary preservation at 25-30 °C for 5, 6, 7, 9, 12 and 24 h on recovery rate and oocyte categories of dromedary camel oocytes. Camel ovaries were collected from El-Bassatein slaughterhouse, Cairo. The collected ovaries were placed immediately after slaughtering into thermos in saline solution (0.9% NaCl) supplemented with antibiotics (100 IU penicillin and 100 μg streptomycin/ml) at 25-30 °C and transported to the laboratory within 4-5 h. Ovaries were washed three times with warmed (30 °C) phosphate buffer solution (PBS) and one time with ethanol (70%). All visible follicles on the ovarian surface (2-8 mm in diameter) were counted. Oocytes were aspirated using a 20-gauge hypodermic needle. Oocyte yield was recorded and the number of oocytes/ovary was calculated. Oocytes were classified into five categories (compact, partial denuded, denuded, shrunken and cleaved oocytes). Results show that average number of follicles on each ovary was not significantly affected by preservation period, although tended to reduce only after 5 h of ovary preservation. However, this number was insignificantly reduced by increasing period of ovary preservation more than 5 up to 24 h. Average number of oocytes on each ovary was significantly (P < 0.05) reduced only between 5 and 6 h of ovary preservation. Average number of oocytes showed higher reduction rate between 5 and 6 h from 12.4 to 9.3/ovary as well as between 9 and 12 h. Oocyte recovery rate showed insignificant decrease from 88.1% at 5 h to 78.6% at 9 h of preservation. However, it showed significant (P < 0.05) reduction to 62.0% between 9 and 12 h, then insignificantly decreased to 58.6 at 24 h of preservation of the ovaries. Frequency distribution and recovery rate of each category was the highest for compact oocytes and the lowest for cleaved oocytes at all periods of preservation. Increasing preservation period significantly (P < 0.05) decreased frequency distribution of compact and cleaved oocytes, while increased frequency distribution of partial denuded, denude and shrunken oocytes. It might be concluded from the present results that the preservation of dromedary camel ovaries at 25-30 °C for 5-6 h was effective for maintaining the oocytes quality and recovery rate compared with the other preservation periods.
