Abstract
The current grade classification system of gliomas is based on the histopathological features of these tumors and has great significance in defining groups of patients for clinical assessment. However, this classification system is also associated with a number of limitations, and as such, additional clinical assessment criteria are required. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a critical role in cellular functions and are currently regarded as potential biomarkers for glioma diagnosis and prognosis. Therefore, the molecular classification of glioma based on lncRNA expression may provide additional information to assist in the systematic identification of glioma. In the present paper, we review the emerging evidence indicating that specific lncRNAs may have the potential for use as key novel biomarkers and thus provide a powerful tool for the systematic diagnosis of glioma.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore whether ozonated oil recovery atopic dermatitis (AD) via immunoregulation. METHODS Mice were repeatedly challenged with the triplex allergens of staphylococcal enterotoxin B, ovalbumin and calcipotriol ointment on the back to develop AD lesions, and were treated with ozonated oil. The lesional skins were scanned by reflectance confocal microscopy to measure the thickness of epidermis. The skin tissues were stained. Th1-type and Th2-type cytokines in serum and in tissues were detected by ELISA and real-time PCR, respectively. RESULTS Ozonated oil significantly inhibited inflammation and healed the lesions in 7 d. Ozonated oil inhibited NGF expression as compared to the groups treated with vehicle or PBS (p < .01).The serum proteins and lesional transcripts of Th2 cytokines including IL-4 and IL-31 were lower in the ozonated oil treated group than the groups treated with vehicle or PBS (p < .05). The IL-10 level was increased with treatment of ozonated oil (p < .01). On the other hand, the expressions of Th1 cytokines including IL-2, TNF-α, and IFN-γ in the serum were not regulated by ozonated oil. CONCLUSIONS Our results showed that ozonated oil could suppress inflammation in an AD murine via decreasing Th2-dominant cytokines response and increasing IL-10 expression. These suggest that ozonated oil may be a potential remedy for AD.

Abstract
Sample desalting and concentration are crucial steps before matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) analysis. Current sample pretreatment approaches require tedious fabrication and operation procedures, which are unamenable to high-throughput analysis and also result in sample loss. Here, we report the development of a smart MALDI substrate for on-plate desalting, enrichment, and direct MS analysis of protein digests based on thermoresponsive, hydrophilic/hydrophobic transition of surface-grafted poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) microarrays. Superhydrophilic 1-thioglycerol microwells are first constructed on alkyne-silane-functionalized rough indium tin oxide substrates based on two sequential thiol-yne photoclick reactions, whereas the surrounding regions are modified with hydrophobic 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecanethiol. Surface-initiated atom-transfer radical polymerization is then triggered in microwells to form PNIPAM arrays, which facilitate sample loading and enrichment of protein digests by concentrating large-volume samples into small dots and achieving on-plate desalting through PNIPAM configuration change at elevated temperature. The smart MALDI plate shows high performance for mass spectrometric analysis of cytochrome c and neurotensin in the presence of 1 M urea and 100 mM NaHCO3, as well as improved detection sensitivity and high sequence coverage for α-casein and cytochrome c digests in femtomole range. The work presents a versatile sample pretreatment platform with great potential for proteomic research.

Abstract
Three-dimensional (3D) printing has undergone an exponential growth in popularity due to its revolutionary and near limitless manufacturing capabilities. Recent trends have seen this technology utilized across a variety of scientific disciplines, including the measurement sciences, but precise fabrication of optical components for high-performance biosensing has not yet been demonstrated. We report here 3D printing of high-quality, custom prisms by stereolithography that enable Kretschmann-configured plasmonic sensing of bacterial toxins. Simple benchtop polishing procedures render a smooth surface that supports propagation of surface plasmon polaritons with a deposited gold layer, which exhibit high bulk refractive index sensitivities and are capable of discriminating trace levels of cholera toxin on a supported lipid membrane interface. Further evidence of the flexibility of this manufacturing technique is demonstrated with printed prisms of varied geometries and in situ monitoring of nanoparticle growth by total internal reflection spectroscopy. This work represents the first example of 3D printed light-guiding sensing platforms and demonstrates the versatility and broad perspective of 3D printing in optical detection.

Abstract
A hybrid material of gold nanodiscs on a calcinated titania nanofilm that allows for selective quantitative and qualitative characterization of surface-enriched phosphopeptides has been designed and reported. Fabrication was realized through a combination of layer-by-layer deposition and high temperature calcination for the titania, and hole-mask colloidal lithography for the plasmonic nanostructures. The morphology of the resulting titania material was rigorously characterized, exhibiting substantially decreased surface roughness, which allows for lithographic fabrication of plasmonic nanostructures. Moreover, high specificity in adsorption and enrichment of phosphopeptides was exhibited, which was verified by LSPR shifts and matching peaks under mass spectrometric analysis. The construction of these biochips should inform other combinatorial nanofabrication techniques, in addition to allowing future phosphoproteomic analyses to be performed in a time and resource-efficient manner.

Abstract
Dual-functional cupric oxide nanorods (CuONRs) as peroxidase mimics are proposed for the development of a flow-through, label-free chemiluminescent (CL) immunosensor. Forming the basis of this cost-efficient, label-free immunoassay, CuONRs, synthesized using a simple hydrothermal method, were deposited onto epoxy-activated standard glass slides, followed by immobilization of biotinylated capture antibodies through a streptavidin bridge. The CuONRs possess excellent catalytic activity, along with high stability as a solid support. Antigens could then be introduced to the sensing system, forming large immunocomplexes that prevent CL substrate access to the surface, thereby reducing the CL signal in a concentration dependent fashion. Using carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) as a model analyte, the proposed label-free immunosensor was able to rapidly determine CEA with a wide linear range of 0.1-60ngmL-1 and a low detection limit of 0.05ngmL-1. This nanozyme-based immunosensor is simple, sensitive, cost-efficient, and has the potential to be a very promising platform for fast and efficient biosensing applications.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the application of 3-dimensional computed tomography angiography (3D-CTA) for defining cavernous sinus aneurysms and intradural aneurysms involving the internal carotid artery around the anterior clinoid process. METHODS Results from 42 patients with an aneurysm of the internal carotid artery around the anterior clinoid process who underwent 3D-CTA were reviewed and compared with those of observed clinical operations. RESULTS Among the 42 patients, there was a total of 45 aneurysms of the internal carotid artery around the anterior clinoid process. After surgery, 33 of the 45 aneurysms were confirmed as intradural aneurysms, and the other 12 were confirmed as aneurysms in the cavernous sinus. 3D-CTA imaging of the medial sagittal plane showed that 31 out of 31 (100%) intradural aneurysms of the internal carotid artery were above the virtual line between the inferior border of the anterior clinoid process and the tuberculum sellae, and 12 out of 14 (86%) cavernous sinus aneurysms were below the virtual line (P < 0.0001). CONCLUSIONS The virtual line between the inferior border of the anterior clinoid process and the tuberculum sellae on 3D-CTA indicates the proximal dural ring of the internal carotid artery. This line helps differentiate cavernous sinus aneurysms from intradural aneurysms involving the internal carotid artery around the anterior clinoid process.

Abstract
Recent advances in graphene-based sensors have shown that heavily oxidized (GO) and reduced graphene oxide (rGO) are attractive materials for environmental sensing due to their unique chemical and physical properties. We describe here the fabrication of nanostructured GO assemblies with Ag nanoprisms for improved detection with surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS). Specifically, 100-μm-sized, periodic-nanoprism-array domains were fabricated on top of the GO layers by GO-assisted lithography (GOAL). The atomically thin GO underlayers are shown to attract cyclic aromatic molecules to the surface, likely via π-π stacking interactions. The close proximity of the analyte to GO and nanoprism (NP) tips effectively suppresses fluorescent background and affords a plausible tertiary enhancement of photon emissions via an electron charge transfer (CT) process. The adsorption of analyte to rGO-NP leads to the appearance and/or shift of several Raman bands, which provided a means to gain molecular insights into the graphene-enhanced scattering process. The analytical merits were characterized with model compound Rhodamine 6G, where the detection limit could reach subnanomolar concentrations. The nanoprism GO substrates also prove effective for SERS multiplex measurement of several legacy aromatic pollutants. Three tetrachlorobiphenyl isomers could be identified from a mixture using their autonomous nonoverlapping molecular fingerprints, and the substrate offers remarkable trace detection of 2,2',3,3'-tetrachlorobiphenyl (PCB-77).

Abstract
AIM The present study aimed to examine the effect of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) inhibition on bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in neurological function recovery after spinal cord injury (SCI) via the Wnt signaling pathway in a rat model. METHODS The rat model of SCI was established using Allen's method. Seventy-two adult male Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were randomly assigned into 4 groups (18 rats in each group): the sham control group, saline control group, BMSCs group (injection with BMSCs at the injured site) and BMSCs + TNF-α group (injection with BMSCs under TNF-α treatment at the injured site). Immunochemistry was performed to characterize the culture media after TNF-α-induced differentiation. qRT-PCR and Western blotting analyses were performed to detect the mRNA and protein expression of β-catenin, Wnt3a, GSK-3β and Axin. The Basso Beattie Bresnahan (BBB) locomotor score, neurological deficit score (NDS), and balance beam test (BBT) score were used to assess neurological functional recovery of SCI rats. RESULTS In the BMSC group, numerous spherical cell clusters grew in suspension, and the cells were nestin-, NF200- and GFAP-positive. Compared with the sham control and BMSC groups, the β-catenin and Wnt3a mRNA and protein expression was increased, but the GSK-3β and Axin mRNA and protein expression was decreased in the BMSCs + TNF-α group. The SCI rats in the BMSCs + TNF-α group exhibited lower BBB scores, and higher NDSs and BBT scores compared to the BMSCs group. CONCLUSION Our study provides evidence that TNF-α inhibition may weaken the ability of BMSCs in neurological functional recovery after SCI by activating the Wnt signaling pathway.

Abstract
Self-folding deep cavitands with variably functionalized upper rims are able to selectively immobilize proteins at a biomimetic supported lipid bilayer surface. The immobilization process takes advantage of the dual-mode binding capabilities of the hosts, combining a defined binding pocket with upper rim charged/H-bonding groups. A variety of proteins can be selectively immobilized at the bilayer interface, either via complementary charge/H-bonding interactions, cavity-based molecular recognition, or a combination of both. The immobilization process can be used to bind unmodified native proteins, epitopes for bioadhesion, or proteins covalently modified with suitable RNMe3+ binding "handles" and charged groups that can either match or mismatch with the cavitand rim. The immobilization process can be monitored in real time using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) spectroscopy, and applied to the construction of cavitand:lipid arrays using the hosts and trehalose vitrified phospholipid vesicles. The selective, dual-mode protein recognition is maintained in the arrays, and can be visualized using SPR imaging.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE We analyzed the influence of PM2.5 and house dust mite antigen Der p1 on the treatment of child asthma attack. PATIENTS AND METHODS A total of 96 children with asthma attack were included into the study. The patients were randomly divided into the PM2.5 group, the house dust mite antigen group, the synergistic group and the control group (n= 24 in each group). RESULTS The PM2.5 concentration in the PM2.5 group was twice higher than standard level (≤ the average value of PM2.5 in local air). All cases were given with same treatment, and the treatment effects were compared and analyzed. It was found that the asthma control rate in the control group was significantly higher than that in the PM2.5 group and the house dust mite antigen group, and the synergistic group was the lowest. The control time in the synergistic group was significantly longest, followed by the PM2.5 group and the house dust mite antigen group, and the control group was significantly short (p<0.05). After the intervention, the FVC, FEV1, and PEF levels were all increased. Those in control group were significantly higher than those of PM2.5 group and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus group. Indicators in the collaborative group were the lowest. Differences were statistically significant (p<0.05). The differences in the PM2.5 group and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus group were not statistically significant. The contents of serum IL-25, TSLP, and malondialdehyde after treatment of the control group significantly lowered while the other three groups showed a significant higher (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS The PM2.5 and house dust mite antigen Der p1 can influence the treating effects of child asthma attack by an inflammatory reaction and oxidative stress.

Abstract
A novel bioconjugation strategy leading to ultrastable gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), utilizing DNA linkers and diluents in place of traditional self-assembled monolayers, is reported. The protective capacity of DNA confers straightforward biomolecular attachment and multistep derivatization capabilities to these nanoparticles and, more significantly, substantially enhances their stability in demanding and complex sensing environments. The DNA/AuNPs were assembled through pH-assisted thiol-gold bonding of single stranded DNA and salt aging, with preconjugated biotin moieties facing outward from the gold surface. These nanoparticles remain a stable colloidal suspension under a wide range of buffers and ionic strengths and can endure multiple rounds of lyophilization while retaining high biological activity. Furthermore, the high stability of the DNA/AuNPs allows for multiple reactions and conjugations to be performed within the colloidal suspensions (i.e., Protein A and antibody binding) for tailored and specific recognition to take place. We have demonstrated the applications of the DNA/AuNPs for colorimetric assays and ELISA feasibility; additionally, SPR imaging analysis of a supported membrane microarray shows excellent results with DNA/AuNPs as the enhancing agent. Together, the properties imparted by this interface render the material suitable for clinical and point-of-care applications where stability, throughput, and extended shelf lives are needed.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE 5-Aminolevulinic acid photodynamic therapy (5-ALA-PDT) for condylomata acuminate (CA) is effective and safe, but how this treatment affects immune reaction is poorly understood. We aimed to explore the effects of PDT on local immunity in CA. PATIENTS AND METHODS Immunohistochemical analysis before and after PDT was performed to analyze local changes in the distribution of T lymphocytes, CD123+ plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) and CD1a+ myeloid DCs. Quantitative Real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) was used to detect changes in mRNA levels of interferon (IFN), ISG-15, Mx-2, TLR9, and IRF7. RESULTS Compared to the healthy foreskin, tissue from patient showed increased CD3+ and CD8+ cells but no significant changes in CD4+ cells or CD123+ pDCs, and a significantly decreased CD1a+ Langerhans cells (LCs). Twenty-four hours after a PDT session, local CD3+, CD4+, and CD123+ pDCs in lesions significantly increased and migrated to the superficial dermis. CD1a+ LCs in the epidermis gradually decreased, while DCs gradually increased. The number, distribution, and morphology of CD8+ cells did not change after a PDT session. The mRNA expressions of IFN-γ, IFN-α, IFN-β, ISG-15, Mx-2, TLR9, and IRF7 were all elevated. As compared to the patients without significantly increased IFN-a and IFN-b after a PDT session, patients with significant increases needed fewer sessions of PDT for a cure. CONCLUSIONS These results suggest that PDT for CA can activate T-lymphocyte-meditated immunity, and pDC-related immunity is also activated. The clinical efficacy of 5-ALA-PDT against CA may be related to the increased IFN-α and IFN-β after treatment.

Abstract
Self-assembly of supramolecular structures has become an attractive means to create new biologically inspired materials and interfaces. We report the first robust hybrid bilayer systems readily coassembled from amphiphilic dendrimers and a naturally occurring phospholipid. Both concentration and generation of the dendrimers have direct impacts on the biophysical properties of the coassemblies. Raising the dendrimer concentration increases the hybrid bilayer stability, while changes in the generation and the concentration of the embedded dendrimers impact the fluidity of the coassembled systems. Multivalent dendrimer amine terminals allow for nondestructive in situ derivatization, providing a convenient approach to decorate and modulate the local environment of the hybrid bilayer. The coassembly of lipid/dendrimer interfaces offers a unique platform for the creation of hybrid systems with modular and precisely controllable behavior for further applications in sensing and drug delivery.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the computed tomography(CT) features of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor(IMT) in different pathological types, and improve the diagnostic level of this disease. Methods: The CT features of 29 cases pathologically confirmed IMTs were retrospectively reviewed along with a literature review to analyze the CT features and pathological correlations, and three kinds of pathological classification of IMT in patients with gender , shape, boundary and location were respectively analyzed by Chi-Square test. Results: The age ranges from 2 to 78 years.There were 7 cases of mucinous blood vessel type and 13 cases of spindle cell type and 9 cases of fiber type.Immunohistochemically, Vimentin (22/29) and SMA (28/29) were positive in all the cases, ALK (4/29) and CD-67(6/29) were partly positive expression, other markers such as S-100 were negative expression.The Chi-Square test showed that there were statistically differences in the gender of the patients. Conclusion: The CT and clinical features differ according to pathological types of IMT. Its final diagnosis still needs to be combined with pathology and immunohistochemistry result. In all, CT has a role in assessing the extension of IMT and especially about the relationship with adjacent organs which can effectively direct the establishment of clinical treating scheme.
