Abstract
With the accelerated pace of energy transition, competition in the lithium-ion battery (LIB) supply chain is intensifying across a wide scope of countries. In order to understand the potential risk derived from the competitors, this study quantifies the global competition intensities of 15 categories of LIB-related commodities, which has not been well characterized by previous criticality analysis studies. On the basis of the collected data and designed treatment techniques, the "competition index" is developed for this purpose. Here, we show that lithium hydroxides, LIBs, and lithium carbonates were the focal points of global competition in the LIB supply chain in 2019, and there will be more competition for lithium hydroxide in the future. The competition for commodities related to LIBs among Korea, Japan, and the USA are the most notable. Such insights into the global conflict potential of LIB-related commodities provide a reference for underlying competitors and corresponding transition strategies of regional industrial structures. The index developed by us complements the criticality analysis framework, which could be expanded to assess the criticality of materials relevant with other industries.

Abstract
The Intelligent and Connected Vehicle (ICV) is regarded as a high-tech solution to reducing road traffic crashes in many countries across the world. However, it is not clear how effective these technologies are in avoiding crashes. This study sets out to summarize the evidence for the crash avoidance effectiveness of technologies equipped on ICVs. In this study, three common methods for safety benefit evaluation were identified: Field operation test (FOT), safety impact methodology (SIM), and statistical analysis methodology (SAM). The advantages and disadvantages of the three methods are compared. In addition, evidence for the crash avoidance effectiveness of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle communication Systems (V2V) are presented in the paper. More specifically, target crash scenarios and the effectiveness of technologies including FCW/AEB, ACC, LDW/LDP, BSD, IMA, and LTA are different. Overall, based on evidence from the literature, technologies on ICVs could significantly reduce the number of crashes.

Abstract
Salt stress harms the growth and development of plants, and the degree of soil salinization in North China is becoming increasingly severe. Ectomycorrhiza (ECM) is a symbiotic system formed by fungi and plants that can improve the growth and salt tolerance of plants. No studies to date have examined the salt tolerance of Quercus mongolica, a typical ectomycorrhizal tree species of temperate forests in the northern hemisphere. Here, we inoculated Q. mongolica with two ectomycorrhizal fungi (Gomphidius viscidus; Suillus luteus) under NaCl stress to characterize the effects of ECM. The results showed that the symbiotic relationship of Q. mongolica with G. viscidus was more stable than that with S. luteus. The cross-sectional area of roots increased after inoculation with the two types of ectomycorrhizal fungi. Compared with the control group, plant height, soluble sugar content, and soluble protein content of leaves were 1.62, 2.41, and 2.04 times higher in the G. viscidus group, respectively. Chlorophyll (Chl) content, stomatal conductance (Gs), and intracellular CO2 concentration (Ci) were significantly higher in Q. mongolica inoculated with ectomycorrhizal fungi than in the control, but differences in the net photosynthetic rate (Pn), transpiration rate (Tr), and photosystem II maximum photochemical efficiency (Fv/Fm) were lower. The relative conductivity of Q. mongolica inoculated with the two ectomycorrhizal fungi was consistently lower than that of non-mycorrhizal seedlings, with the effect of G. viscidus more pronounced than that of S. luteus. The malondialdehyde (MDA) content showed a similar pattern. Peroxidase (POD) and catylase (CAT) levels in mycorrhizal seedlings were generally higher than those of non-mycorrhizal seedlings under normal conditions, and were significantly higher than those of non-mycorrhizal seedlings on the 36th and 48th day after salt treatment, respectively. Overall, the results indicated that the salt tolerance of Q. mongolica seedlings was improved by ectomycorrhizal inoculation.

Abstract
Background In recent years, the construction of orthotopic neobladder has become the focus of research. Our study is aim to illustrate and evaluate surgical techniques, oncologic and functional outcomes of two types of modified ileal orthotopic neobladders (IONB). Methods We retrospectively reviewed of 64 patients who underwent laparoscopic radical cystectomy (LRC) + Xing’s neobladder (n=41), Institute of Urology Peking University neobladder (IUPUB) (n=23) at two tertiary referral centers. Then demographic characteristics, operation outcomes were analyzed. In addition, postoperative complication rates, oncologic outcomes, continence, and neobladders’ function were further evaluated. Results All LRC + IONB were carried out in 64 patients successfully. Pathological results show that 63 were urothelial carcinoma and 1 was adenocarcinoma. Time to flatus was 3 [1–6] d in Xing’s neobladder group while 3 [2–5] d in IUPUB group (P=0.049). In terms of overall survival (OS), cancer specific survival (CSS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS), there is no statistical difference between the two groups. Overall, grade 1–2 complications were 36%, grade 3–4 complications were 1.6% on the 30th day, and 15.6%, 1.6% respectively on the 90th day. On the whole, daytime and night continence were 96.4%, 83.6% respectively one year after operation. Conclusions The two types of modified IONB are safe and feasible. The technical improvements significantly simplify the procedure and decrease the difficulty of the surgery, probably shorten the operative time and reduce blood loss. Furthermore, they take the advantage of less late complications and comparative good functional outcomes without affecting the prognosis of oncology. In addition, Xing’s neobladder is more beneficial to the recovery of postoperative gastrointestinal function.

Abstract
A novel mass spectrometric method for probing the flash chemistry of electrogenerated reactive intermediates was developed based on rapid collision mixing of electrosprayed microdroplets by using a theta-glass capillary. The two individual microchannels of the theta-glass capillary are asymmetrically or symmetrically fabricated with a carbon bipolar electrode to produce intermediates in situ. Microdroplets containing the newly formed intermediates collide with those of the invoked reactants at sub-10 microsecond level, making it a powerful tool for exploring their ultrafast initial transformations. As a proof-of-concept, we present the identification of the key radical cation intermediate in the oxidative dimerization of 8-methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline and also the first disclosure of previously hidden nitrenium ion involved reaction pathway in the C-H/N-H cross-coupling between N,N'-dimethylaniline and phenothiazine.

Abstract
GABA is a major inhibitory neurotransmitter in the mammalian central nervous system (CNS). Inhibitory GABAA channel circuits in the dorsal spinal cord are the gatekeepers of the nociceptive input from the periphery to the CNS. Weakening of these spinal inhibitory mechanisms is a hallmark of chronic pain. Yet, recent studies have suggested the existence of an earlier GABAergic “gate” within the peripheral sensory ganglia. In this study, we performed systematic investigation of plastic changes of the GABA-related proteins in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) in the process of neuropathic pain development. We found that chronic constriction injury (CCI) induced general downregulation of most GABAA channel subunits and the GABA-producing enzyme, glutamate decarboxylase, consistent with the weakening of the GABAergic inhibition at the periphery. Strikingly, the α5 GABAA subunit was consistently upregulated. Knock-down of the α5 subunit in vivo moderately alleviated neuropathic hyperalgesia. Our findings suggest that while the development of neuropathic pain is generally accompanied by weakening of the peripheral GABAergic system, the α5 GABAA subunit may have a unique pro-algesic role and, hence, might represent a new therapeutic target.

Abstract
Process overlap theory (POT) is a new theoretical framework designed to account for the general factor of intelligence (g). According to POT, g does not reflect a general cognitive ability. Instead, g is the result of multiple domain-general executive attention processes and multiple domain-specific processes that are sampled in an overlapping manner across a battery of intelligence tests. POT explains several benchmark findings on human intelligence. However, the precise nature of the executive attention processes underlying g remains unclear. In the current paper, we discuss challenges associated with building a theory of individual differences in attention and intelligence. We argue that the conflation of psychological theories and statistical models, as well as problematic inferences based on latent variables, impedes research progress and prevents theory building. Two studies designed to illustrate the unique features of POT relative to previous approaches are presented. In Study 1, a simulation is presented to illustrate precisely how POT accounts for the relationship between executive attention processes and g. In Study 2, three datasets from previous studies are reanalyzed (N = 243, N = 234, N = 945) and reveal a discrepancy between the POT simulated model and the unity/diversity model of executive function. We suggest that this discrepancy is largely due to methodological problems in previous studies but also reflects different goals of research on individual differences in attention. The unity/diversity model is designed to facilitate research on executive function and dysfunction associated with cognitive and neural development and disease. POT is uniquely suited to guide and facilitate research on individual differences in cognitive ability and the investigation of executive attention processes underlying g.

Abstract
Although inflammation is protective of the body, uncontrolled acute inflammatory reactions may inflict tissue damage and lead to chronic inflammation. There is a fast-growing research interest in mechanisms that mediate regression of inflammation and actions of anti-inflammatory factors. Studies of inflammatory and anti-inflammatory mechanisms have uncovered roles for new lipid mediators, including lipoxins, resolvins, protectins, and maresins, collectively referred to as specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPM). Maresins have recently been discovered and are biosynthesized from docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) by macrophages and display strong anti-inflammatory and pro-resolving activities. Here, we summarize the actions and mechanisms of maresins in different diseases and suggest possible therapeutic uses.

Abstract
Background The recent discovery of miRNAs and lncRNAs in urine exosomes has emerged as promising diagnostic biomarkers for bladder cancer (BCa). However, mRNAs as the direct products of transcription has not been well evaluated in exosomes as biomarkers for BCa diagnosis. The purpose of this study was to identify tumor progression-related mRNAs and lncRNAs in urine exosomes that could be used for detection of BCa. Methods RNA-sequencing was performed to identify tumor progression-related biomarkers in three matched superficial tumor and deep infiltrating tumor regions of muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) specimens, differently expressed mRNAs and lncRNAs were validated in TCGA dataset (n = 391) in the discovery stage. Then candidate RNAs were chosen for evaluation in urine exosomes of a training cohort (10 BCa and 10 healthy controls) and a validation cohort (80 BCa and 80 healthy controls) using RT-qPCR. The diagnostic potential of the candidates were evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves. Results RNA sequencing revealed 8 mRNAs and 32 lncRNAs that were significantly upregulated in deep infiltrating tumor region. After validation in TCGA database, 10 markedly dysregulated RNAs were selected for further investigation in urine exosomes, of which five (mRNAs: KLHDC7B, CASP14, and PRSS1; lncRNAs: MIR205HG and GAS5) were verified to be significantly dysregulated. The combination of the five RNAs had the highest AUC to disguising the BCa (0.924, 95% CI, 0.875–0.974) or early stage BCa patients (0.910, 95% CI, 0.850 to 0.971) from HCs. The expression levels of these five RNAs were correlated with tumor stage, grade, and hematuria degrees. Conclusions These findings highlight the potential of urine exosomal mRNAs and lncRNAs profiling in the early diagnosis and provide new insights into the molecular mechanisms involved in BCa.

Abstract
Implantable brain machine interfaces for treatment of neurological disorders require on-chip, real-time signal processing of action potentials (spikes). In this work, we present the first spike sorting SoC with integrated neural recording front-end and analog unsupervised classifier. The event-driven, low power spike sorter features a novel hardware-optimized, K-means based algorithm that effectively eliminates duplicate clusters and is implemented using a novel clockless and ADC-less analog architecture. The 1.4 mm2 chip is fabricated in a 180-nm CMOS SOI process. The analog front-end achieves a 3.3 μVrms noise floor over the spike bandwidth (400 - 5000 Hz) and consumes 6.42 μW from a 1.5 V supply. The analog spike sorter consumes 4.35 μW and achieves 93.2% classification accuracy on a widely used synthetic test dataset. In addition, higher than 93% agreement between the chip classification result and that of a standard spike sorting software is observed using pre-recorded real neural signals. Simulations of the implemented spike sorter show robust performance under process-voltage-temperature variations.

Abstract
Using a diamido-bis(amidate) titanium precatalyst, the hydroamination of alkynylphosphines afforded phosphinoenamine products. After reduction, 2-aminophosphines are prepared in excellent yield and on gram scale. A broad variety of alkynylphosphines and primary amines with different electronic and steric features are tolerated in this sequential transformation, enabling the rapid assembly of a collection of ligands. Additionally, intermediate phosphinoenamines can be used directly as proligands for coordination to transition metals using protonolysis or salt metathesis reactions. These transformations result in easy-to-use one pot protocols to prepare metal P,N-complexes for catalysis or small molecule activation.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the etiology, characteristics, and ureteral reconstruction strategies of iatrogenic ureteric injuries in a high-volume center. METHODS Between September 2010 and August 2019, we retrospectively collected patients who underwent ureteral reconstruction due to iatrogenic ureteric injuries. Patient profiles, laboratory data, imaging studies, perioperative data, and complications were recorded. RESULTS Sixty-eight patients were enrolled in this study. The upper, middle, and lower thirds of the ureter were affected in 30, 2, and 36 cases, respectively. Of the 68 ureteric injuries, 69.1% occurred during urological procedures, followed by gynecological procedures, general surgery, radiotherapy, and orthopedic surgery. The majority of urological injuries (41, 87.2%) occurred due to stone removal. There was a significant difference in the age, sex, and location of ureteric injuries between the urological and nonurological groups. The median follow-up time was 17.9 months. The overall symptom remission rate was 91.2% and ranged from 87.5 to 100% for different reconstructive surgeries. CONCLUSIONS Urological procedures were the most common cause of iatrogenic ureteric injury; thus, extra care should be taken. Timely detection and appropriate treatment of the ureteric injuries are necessary. Treatment strategies should be depended on the location and length of injury.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To compare perioperative and oncologic survival outcomes between laparoscopic radical cystectomy and open radical cystectomy. METHODS A total of 607 patients underwent open radical cystectomy (n = 412) or laparoscopic radical cystectomy (n = 195) at a single academic institution from January 2006 to April 2017. Their medical records were retrospectively analyzed. One-to-one propensity score matching was carried out to reduce selection bias. Estimated blood loss and complications were compared. Overall survival, cancer-specific survival and progression-free survival estimates for all patients and patients with locally advanced bladder cancer were analyzed using the Kaplan-Meier method. RESULTS Either before or after matching, the laparoscopic radical cystectomy group had less estimated blood loss (P < 0.001 and P < 0.001) and fewer complications (P < 0.001 and P = 0.008). There was no difference in the overall survival (P = 0.216 and P = 0.961) and progression-free survival (P = 0.826 and P = 0.462) for all the patients having either laparoscopic radical cystectomy or open radical cystectomy. However, the 5-year progression-free survival of open radical cystectomy was higher than that of laparoscopic radical cystectomy (P = 0.019 and P = 0.021) for patients with locally advanced bladder cancer. CONCLUSIONS Laparoscopic radical cystectomy is superior to open radical cystectomy in terms of perioperative outcomes, and similar to open radical cystectomy in terms of oncologic outcomes for patients with early stage bladder cancer. However, for patients with locally advanced bladder cancer, laparoscopic radical cystectomy seems to be associated with shorter progression-free survival than open radical cystectomy.

Abstract
KEY POINTS Rat somatosensory neurons express a junctional protein, junctophilin-4 (JPH4) JPH4 is necessary for the formation of store operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) complex at the junctions between plasma membrane and endoplasmic reticulum in these neurons. Knockdown of JPH4 impairs endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ store refill and junctional Ca2+ signalling in sensory neurons. In vivo knockdown of JPH4 in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) sensory neurons significantly attenuated experimentally induced inflammatory pain in rats. Junctional nanodomain Ca2+ signalling maintained by JPH4 is an important contributor to the inflammatory pain mechanisms. ABSTRACT Junctions of endoplasmic reticulum and plasma membrane (ER-PM junctions) form signalling nanodomains in eukaryotic cells. ER-PM junctions are present in peripheral sensory neurons and are important for the fidelity of G protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signalling. Yet little is known about the assembly, maintenance and physiological role of these junctions in somatosensory transduction. Using fluorescence imaging, proximity ligation, super-resolution microscopy, in vitro and in vivo gene knockdown we demonstrate that a member of the junctophilin protein family, junctophilin-4 (JPH4), is necessary for the formation of store operated Ca2+ entry (SOCE) complex at the ER-PM junctions in rat somatosensory neurons. Thus we show that JPH4 localises to the ER-PM junctional areas and co-clusters with SOCE proteins STIM1 and Orai1 upon ER Ca2+ store depletion. Knockdown of JPH4 impairs SOCE and ER Ca2+ store refill in sensory neurons. Furthermore, we demonstrate a key role of the JPH4 and junctional nanodomain Ca2+ signalling in the pain-like response induced by the inflammatory mediator bradykinin. Indeed, an in vivo knockdown of JPH4 in the dorsal root ganglion (DRG) sensory neurons significantly shortened the duration of nocifensive behaviour induced by hindpaw injection of bradykinin in rats. Since the ER supplies Ca2+ for the excitatory action of multiple inflammatory mediators, we suggest that junctional nanodomain Ca2+ signalling maintained by JPH4 is an important contributor to the inflammatory pain mechanisms.

Abstract
Background To describe our technique for using an intraureteral injection of indocyanine green (ICG) and visualization under near-infrared fluorescence (NIRF) to facilitate challenging upper urinary tract reconstructions (UUTRs) and to present the comparative outcomes. Methods We collected 36 patients who underwent laparoscopic UUTRs between April 2019 and March 2020, and we divided the patients into two groups based on the use of ICG (ICG group and non-ICG group). Demographic characteristics, perioperative outcomes, and functional outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results There were 18 cases in the ICG group and 18 cases in the non-ICG group, respectively. There were no differences in the baseline characteristics between the two groups. The intraoperative time to identification of the ureter (TIU; 20.9±11.7 vs. 30.0±14.6 min, P=0.03) and length of postoperative hospital stay (LPHS; 11.1±3.0 vs. 16.6±10.0 days, P=0.03) were significantly shorter in the ICG group. There was also a trend for lesser time for locating the stricture (43.0±27.9 vs. 55.4±18.6 min, P=0.14) and lower estimated blood loss (EBL) in the ICG group patients (88.3±75.4 vs. 91.7±46.2 mL, P=0.22). During the mean 3.8-month follow-up for the ICG group and the 6.2-month for the non-ICG group, there was a trend for more severe complications in the non-ICG group. Conclusions Visualizing intraureteral ICG under NIRF is useful in challenging UUTRs, allows for rapid ureteral identification and accurate real-time delineation of the ureteral stricture margins, and provides encouraging follow-up outcomes compared with those in the non-ICG group.

Abstract
BACKGROUND This study is an initial comparative analysis of perioperative and intermediate-term functional outcomes between patients who underwent robot-assisted laparoscopic (RALS) or conventional laparoscopic surgery (LS). MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 25 patients who underwent ileal ureter replacement (10 RALS and 15 LS) were followed by functional cine magnetic resonance urography (MRU) combined with a modified Whitaker test. Also, the characteristics, perioperative data and functional outcomes of the patients were compared. RESULTS The estimated blood loss, postoperative hospital stay and time to oral intake were significantly lower in the RALS group. At the median 14-month follow-up, all the patients showed improved renal function and were symptom-free, with no signs of leakage or stenosis observed by cine MRU combined with a modified Whitaker test. CONCLUSIONS RALS with an extracorporeal bowel resection is feasible and appears to be safe, with quick postoperative recovery and encouraging outcomes.

Abstract
RATIONALE Double primary lung cancer (DPLC) is a relatively rare type of lung cancers. According to whether the diagnosis interval between lesions is more than 6 months, it can be divided into synchronous DPLC (sDPLC) and metachronous DPLC (mDPLC). Here, we describe a case of sDPLC in which one of the components is a rare colloid adenocarcinoma (CA). PATIENT CONCERNS A 69-year-old male was admitted to the hospital due to chest distress and shortness of breath for 1 year, getting worse in the last 15 days. DIAGNOSIS Both HE staining and IHC supported the diagnosis of CA in the right lower lobe and moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma in the right upper lobe. INTERVENTIONS The patient was treated with 3 cycles of adjuvant chemotherapy with pemetrexed and lobaplatin after the right upper lobectomy, wedge resection of the right lower lobe and lymph node dissection under video-assisted thoracoscope. OUTCOMES Our plan was to follow him up with general physical examination, chest-abdomen CT and serum tumor markers every 6 months for 2 years. The patient was still alive until the last follow-up in November 2020. LESSONS CA of the lung is a rare primary lung adenocarcinoma. The diagnosis should be based on the patient's clinical characteristics, imaging examination and pathological characteristics, and also need to be differentiated from other mucinous adenocarcinomas. Interestingly, our patient developed not only a CA in the right lower lobe, but also a moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma in the right upper lobe.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The aim of the study was to present our modified flap pyeloplasty techniques for recurrent ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO) with a long proximal ureteral stricture and compare outcomes of laparoscopic and robotic procedures. MATERIALS AND METHODS Between March 2018 and January 2020, 21 patients underwent modified laparoscopic or robotic flap pyeloplasty for recurrent UPJO with a long proximal ureteral stricture. Our surgical modifications included the "wishbone" anastomosis and "ureteral plate" technique. Demographic, perioperative, and follow-up data were recorded and compared retrospectively between the groups. Success was defined as subjective pain alleviation and hydronephrosis improvement. RESULTS Thirteen modified laparoscopic flap pyeloplasty (mLFP) and 8 modified robotic flap pyeloplasty (mRFP) were performed successfully without conversion. mRFP tended to have shorter overall operative time (142.4 vs. 179.1 min, p = 0.122) and anastomosis time (43.1 vs. 61.0 min, p = 0.093) than mLFP. No difference was found in estimated blood loss (p = 0.723) and pararenal draining time (p = 0.175) between the groups. The mean postoperative hospital stay of mRFP was significantly shorter than that of mLFP (5.0 vs. 8.2 days, p = 0.015). No major complications occurred. During the mean follow-up of 17.9 months, the overall success rate was 90.5%, and there was no significant difference between 2 groups. CONCLUSIONS The modified flap pyeloplasty could be considered a practical and effective treatment option with a high success rate for recurrent UPJO with a long proximal ureteral stricture, and the robotic procedures showed advantages of higher efficiency and faster recovery.

Abstract
Background To summarize our experience with the Boari flap-psoas hitch and compare the indications, perioperative data and outcomes between open and laparoscopic procedures. Methods This study retrospectively reviewed 35 patients with complex distal ureteral stricture between January 2015 and April 2019. All patients were treated with Boari flap-psoas hitch by either an open or a laparoscopic procedure. Selection criteria were based on the etiology, comorbidities, medical history, and patient preference. Results All surgeries were performed successfully. The median operation time was 201 min (range, 120 to 300 min), and the median estimated blood loss was 50 mL (range, 20 to 400 mL). The median postoperative hospitalization was 9 days (range, 3 to 46 days). Nineteen patients were treated by the open procedure, and 16 were treated by the transperitoneal laparoscopic procedure. The surgical indication of open surgery was broader than that for laparoscopic surgery. For patients experiencing iatrogenic injury and ureterovesical reimplantation failure, no significant differences in sex, laterality, operative time, ASA score or postoperative hospitalization stay were observed between the two groups. The median estimated blood loss was lower in the laparoscopic group than in the open group (P=0.047). Patients in the open group had more surgical complications than patients in the laparoscopic group (P=0.049). The postoperative follow-up showed the radiological resolution of hydronephrosis in 33 patients. Conclusions With the appropriate surgical considerations, Boari flap-psoas hitch is a valid method to bridge distal ureteral defects. For select patients, laparoscopic surgery had advantages being a minimal invasive surgery with less estimated blood loss and fewer surgical complications.

Abstract
Background To investigate the common etiologies, characteristics, and management of ureteric injury. Methods A nationwide study was performed in 38 medical centers from Mar 2017 to Mar 2019. The data of patients with ureteric injury were retrospectively collected. Results Overall, 294 patients were included in this study. Ten cases (3.4%) were due to abdominal injuries, and 284 cases (96.6%) were due to iatrogenic injuries, including 48.6% from urological procedures, 41.9% from gynecological procedures, 6.3% from general surgery, and 3.2% from other treatments. Most urological injuries (79.7%) were caused by endourological procedures. Injury occurred in the distal ureter in 178 cases (60.5%), the mid-ureter in 31 cases (10.5%), and the proximal ureter in 85 cases (28.9%). Only 51 patients (17.3%) were diagnosed immediately during primary surgery. Immediate ureter reconstruction was performed in 30 patients (58.8%), while delayed urinary diversion was performed in 148 patients (60.9%) in the delayed diagnosis group. The side and the location of the injury were different between the urological and nonurological injury groups (P<0.001). Ureteric injuries were diagnosed timelier in the urological group than in the nonurological group (P=0.037). Conclusions Iatrogenic injury was the most common cause of ureteric injury. The majority of iatrogenic injuries were caused by urological procedures and were primarily due to aggressive endourological techniques. Depending on the condition of the patient, the time of diagnosis, and the location and length of the ureteric injury, different management strategies should be applied.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of conditions including obesity, insulin resistance, hypertension, and abnormal cholesterol, which increases the cardiovascular risk. Metabolic syndrome or obesity has been reported to provide systemic inflammation and oxidative stress. Increased epicardial fat volume is a manifestation of obesity or metabolic syndrome. Those systemic and local conditions related to obesity or metabolic syndrome have been linking to the risk of atrial fibrillation (AF). The underlying mechanisms of obesity linking epicardial fat to AF progression have not been fully examined.
Purpose
To investigate the impact of obesity linked to epicardial fat on electrophysiologic and anatomical AF substrates.
Methods
Twenty dogs aged 3 years were divided into four groups (n=5 per each): normal diet for over 20 weeks (control group [median body weight: 12.0 kg]), rapid atrial pacing (RAP) for last 4–15 (median 8) weeks during a normal diet for the same period (RAP group [10.5 kg]), high-fat diet (HFD) maintained for over 20 weeks without RAP (MetS group [16.0 kg]), and RAP for last 4–12 (median 6) weeks during HFD maintained for 24 weeks (MetS-RAP group [17.0 kg]), respectively. Activation/voltage maps of the atria during sinus rhythm were created with Ensite NavX mapping system. The effective refractory period (ERP) at 5 left atrial (LA) and pulmonary vein (PV) sites (LA appendage [LAA], LA body, right and left superior PVs, and inferior PV), and AF inducibility by burst LAA pacing were determined. At study completion, hearts were excised for histopathological and gene expression analyses.
Results
The LA pressure was more significantly increased in MetS than the MetS-RAP, RAP, and control groups (22.5 [17–28.8] mmHg vs. 14.0 [10.5–16.3] mmHg, 10.5 [7.4–17.2] mmHg and 10.7 [9.6–13.5] mmHg, respectively, P<0.05). The LA/PV ERP at a basic cycle length of 400 ms was shorter in the MetS-RAP and RAP than MetS and control groups (118±39 ms and 122±44 ms vs. 136±18 ms and 155±39 ms, respectively, P<0.05). Short duration AF was more induced in the MetS and MetS-RAP than RAP and control groups (3 [0–5.5] sec and 2 [0.5–3.5] sec vs. 0 [0–4.5] sec and 0 [0–0] sec, P<0.05). Histological examinations showed the fatty infiltration extending from epicardial fat increased more in the Mets and Mets-RAP than RAP and control groups (Figure). The Fibronectin 1 and collagen I/III mRNA levels increased more in the MetS-RAP and AF than MetS and control groups.
Conclusions
AF vulnerability was associated with increased LA pressures and fibrofatty infiltration from epicardial fat in the MetS group, and with fibrofatty infiltration from epicardial fat with subtle fibrosis in the MetS-RAP group. This suggested that fibrofatty infiltration and epicardial fat plays an important role in AF pathogenesis in obese patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The prognostic values of the AJCC staging system for gastric cancer (GC-AJCC), the AJCC staging system for gastric neuroendocrine tumours (NET-AJCC) and the European Neuroendocrine Tumor Society (ENETS) system for gastric neuroendocrine carcinoma and mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma (MA)NEC remain controversial. METHODS Data on patients with (MA)NEC from 21 centres in China were analysed. Different staging systems were evaluated by performing Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and calculating the concordance index (C-index) and Akaike information criterion (AIC). Based on three existing systems, a modified staging system (mTNM) was developed. RESULTS A total of 871 patients were included. In the GC-AJCC system, an overlap was noticed for pT2 and pT3 categories. Patients with stage IIIC disease had a similar prognosis to those with stage IV disease. The pT categories of the NET-AJCC system had a lower C-index and higher AIC than those of the other systems. In the ENETS system, there was a low proportion (0·2 per cent) of patients with stage IIIA and a high proportion (67·6 per cent) of stage IIIB disease. The mTNM system adopted the NET-AJCC pT and GC-AJCC pN and pM definitions, and was developed based on the ENETS stage definitions. The proportion of patients in each stage was better distributed and the mTNM system showed improved prognostic performance in predicting overall and disease-free survival. CONCLUSION The mTNM system offers more accurate prognostic value for gastric (MA)NEC than the AJCC or ENETS staging systems.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To investigate the feasibility, validity and security of a new robot platform called KD-SR-01 and compare relative merits of KD-SR-01 robotic partial nephrectomy (KD-RPN) and 3D-Laparoscopic Partial Nephrectomy (3D-LPN). METHODS Twelve porcine models were randomly and equally divided for KD-RPN and 3D-LPN. The perioperative outcomes, physical and mental workload of the surgeon were compared. Physical workload was evaluated with surface electromyography. Mental workload was evaluated with National Aeronautics and Space Administration Task Load Index (NASA-TLX). RESULTS All surgeries were performed successfully. The average docking time of KD-RPN was 6 min. The estimated blood loss was lower in KD-RPN (p < 0.05). There were no differences in all the other operative variables (p > 0.05). KD-RPN showed advantages in physical workload and was significantly superior in mental workload (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS KD-RPN is technically feasible, valid and safe in porcine models. It's comparable from operative perspective while KD-RPN had advantages over 3D-LPN from ergonomic perspective.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE MicroRNAs are a group of gene expression regulators and some of which have been confirmed to be associated with acute viral myocarditis (VM). This study aims to find new biomarkers for VM diagnosis and explore the roles of miRNAs during the pathogenesis of VM. PATIENTS AND METHODS 23 patients with acute myocarditis and 12 controls were included in this research. The expression of 10 candidate miRNAs in the serum exosome was examined by qRT-PCR. The direct targets were predicted using bioinformatics tools and then confirmed by dual luciferase assay and immunoblotting. Levels IL-6 of cell culture supernatants were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Six weeks old male mice were injected intraperitoneally with Coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3) and then treated by miRNA inhibitors through tail vein injection. RESULTS Five miRNAs were found to have disturbed expression in the exosome and may have the potential to be used as biomarker for VM diagnosis. Meanwhile, the expression of miR-30a and -181d was also altered in the cells after CVB3 infection. We identified SOCS3 as a direct target of miR-30a and -181d. Furthermore, during CVB3 infection, up-regulated miR-30a and -181d are related to enhanced IL-6 level via modulating SOCS3 expression. miRNA inhibitors injection increased mice survival rate after CVB3 infection. CONCLUSIONS miR-30a and -181d contribute to the over-activated inflammatory response to viral infection of the heart during coxsackievirus infection.

Abstract
Background:Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a complex polygenic autoimmune disease characterized by immune-system aberrations. Among several types of immune cells, T follicular helper (Tfh) cells promote autoantibody production, whereas T follicular regulatory (Tfr) cells suppress Tfh-mediated antibody responses.(1)Objectives:To identify the characteristics of Tfr cells and to elucidate the mechanisms of conversion of Tfh cells to Tfr cells, we probed the phenotype of T helper cells in patients with SLE and underlying epigenetic modifications by cytokine-induced signal transducer and activators of transcription (STAT) family factors. Methods:Peripheral blood mononuclear cells from SLE patients (n=44) and healthy donors (HD; n=26) were analyzed by flow cytometry. Memory Tfh cells were sorted and cultured under stimulation with T cell receptor and various cytokines. Expression of characteristic markers and phosphorylation of STATs (p-STATs) were analyzed by flow cytometry and quantitation PCR. Histone modifications were evaluated by chromatin immunoprecipitation. Results:The proportion of CXCR5+FoxP3+Tfr cells in CD4+T cells tended to increase (2.1% vs 1.7%, p=0.17); however, that of CD4+CD45RA-FoxP3hiactivated Tfr cells in Tfr cells was decreased (4.8% vs 7.1%, p<0.05), while CD4+CD45RA-FoxP3lownon-suppressive Tfr cells was increased (50.1% vs 38.2%, p<0.01) in SLE compared to HD. The percentage of PD-1hiactivated Tfh cells was significantly higher in SLE compared to HD (15.7% vs 5.9%, p<0.01). Furthermore, active patients had a higher ratio of activated Tfh/Tfr cells compared to inactive patients. In vitro study showed that IL-2, but not other cytokines such as TGF-β1, IL-12, IL-27, and IL-35, induced the conversion of memory Tfh cells to functional Tfr cells characterized by CXCR5+Bcl6+Foxp3hipSTAT3+pSTAT5+cells. The loci ofFOXP3at STAT binding sites were marked by bivalent histone modifications. After IL-2 stimulation, STAT5 directly bound on FOXP3 gene loci accompanied by suppressing H3K27me3. Finally, we found that serum level of IL-2 was decreased in SLE and that stimulation with IL-2 suppressed the generation of CD38+CD27+B cells by ex vivo coculture assay using Tfh cells and B cells isolated from human blood. Conclusion:Our findings indicated that the regulatory function of Tfr cells is impaired due to the low ability of IL-2 production and that IL-2 restores the function of Tfr cells through conversion of Tfh cells to Tfr cells in SLE. Thus, the reinstatement of the balance between Tfh and Tfr cells will provide important therapeutic approaches for SLE.References:[1]Deng J, Wei Y, Fonseca VR, et al. Abstract
MOTIVATION The risk of many complex diseases is determined by an interplay of genetic and environmental factors. The examination of gene-environment interactions (G×Es) for multiple traits can yield valuable insights about the etiology of the disease and increase power in detecting disease-associated genes. However, the methods for testing G×Es for multiple traits are very limited. METHOD We developed novel approaches to test G×Es for multiple traits in sequencing association studies. We first perform a transformation of multiple traits by using either principal component analysis or standardization analysis. Then, we detect the effects of G×Es using novel proposed tests: testing the effect of an optimally weighted combination of G×Es (TOW-GE) and/or variable weight TOW-GE (VW-TOW-GE). Finally, we employ Fisher's combination test to combine the p values. RESULTS Extensive simulation studies show that the type I error rates of the proposed methods are well controlled. Compared to the interaction sequence kernel association test (ISKAT), TOW-GE is more powerful when there are only rare risk and protective variants; VW-TOW-GE is more powerful when there are both rare and common variants. Both TOW-GE and VW-TOW-GE are robust to directions of effects of causal G×Es. Application to the COPDGene Study demonstrates that our proposed methods are very effective. CONCLUSIONS Our proposed methods are useful tools in the identification of G×Es for multiple traits. The proposed methods can be used not only to identify G×Es for common variants, but also for rare variants. Therefore, they can be employed in identifying G×Es in both genome-wide association studies and next-generation sequencing data analyses.

Abstract
The application of high-voltage electrostatic field (HVEF) is a novel method of thawing. To determine if HVEF thawing could lead to sarcoplasmic proteins denaturation, and to provide a theoretical estimation of the structure of the sarcoplasmic proteins, pork tenderloin was thawed by traditional and HVEF methods. The results from protein solubility analysis, sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and differential scanning calorimeter showed that HVEF thawing did not result in more protein denaturation than those thawed under air or running water. From the principal component analysis of FTIR raw spectra (1700-1600 cm-1, Amide I region), we observed some separations of samples with different thawing treatments. It was found that the proportions of α-helix (1650-1640 cm-1 spectral bands in the original data) could lead to the differences on the PC2 axis of score plots.

Abstract
Progressive supranuclear palsy - Richardson syndrome (PSP-RS) was first described in 1964 by Steele et al. Tau pathology has not been reported in the hypoglossal nuclei of PSP-RS patients, whereas Steele et al. described gliosis with no remarkable neuronal losses in the hypoglossal nucleus. This study aimed to investigate the distribution and degree of tau pathology-associated neurodegeneration, with an emphasis on the hypoglossal nucleus, in patients with PSP-RS. Six clinicopathologically proven PSP-RS cases were included in this study. All patients were clinicopathologically and immunohistochemically re-evaluated. This study confirmed the following neuropathological characteristics of PSP-RS: (1) neurodegeneration usually affects the striatonigral system and cerebellar dentate nucleus; (2) the cerebellar afferent system in PSP-RS is affected by absent-to-mild neurodegeneration; and (3) the extent of tau distribution throughout the central nervous system is greater than the extent of neurodegeneration. Furthermore, we found that subthalamic neurodegeneration was more prominent in the ventromedial region than in the dorsolateral region. Nevertheless, the tau pathology showed no remarkable differences between these two sites. Interestingly, the tau pathology was frequently observed in the hypoglossal nuclei of PSP-RS patients. Gradient neurodegeneration of the subthalamus and tau pathology in the hypoglossal nucleus could be regarded as essential pathological features of PSP-RS.

Abstract
The risk of many complex diseases is determined by a complex interplay of genetic and environmental factors. Advanced next generation sequencing technology makes identification of gene-environment (GE) interactions for both common and rare variants possible. However, most existing methods focus on testing the main effects of common and/or rare genetic variants. There are limited methods developed to test the effects of GE interactions for rare variants only or rare and common variants simultaneously. In this study, we develop novel approaches to test the effects of GE interactions of rare and/or common risk, and/or protective variants in sequencing association studies. We propose two approaches: 1) testing the effects of an optimally weighted combination of GE interactions for rare variants (TOW-GE); 2) testing the effects of a weighted combination of GE interactions for both rare and common variants (variable weight TOW-GE, VW-TOW-GE). Extensive simulation studies based on the Genetic Analysis Workshop 17 data show that the type I error rates of the proposed methods are well controlled. Compared to the existing interaction sequence kernel association test (ISKAT), TOW-GE is more powerful when there are GE interactions' effects for rare risk and/or protective variants; VW-TOW-GE is more powerful when there are GE interactions' effects for both rare and common risk and protective variants. Both TOW-GE and VW-TOW-GE are robust to the directions of effects of causal GE interactions. We demonstrate the applications of TOW-GE and VW-TOW-GE using an imputed data from the COPDGene Study.

Abstract
AIM To report the initial experiences with functional cine magnetic resonance urography (cine MRU) and assess its usefulness as a novel postoperative evaluation method of ileal ureter substitution. MATERIALS AND METHODS The medical records of 17 patients from who underwent cine MRU during June 2010 to December 2019 during their follow-up after ileal ureter substitution were collected. The cine MRU videos of reconstructive urinary tract were observed, and the luminal diameter, contraction ratio, peristaltic waves, and ureteral jets were measured. RESULTS Seventeen patients underwent cine MRU after ileal ureter substitution during their follow-up. Based on their cine MRU videos assessing the morphology and the peristaltic motility of the reconstructive urinary tract, there was resolution of preoperative hydronephrosis, which matched their ameliorative renal function. Clearly, peristaltic motility of the ileal graft was observed in 14 patients with obvious peristaltic waves and ureteral jets. CONCLUSION This study is the first to assess the clinical utility of functional cine MRU during the patient follow-up after ileal ureter substitution. Cine MRU is a radiation-free, non-invasive imaging method that can clearly show the morphology and the peristaltic motility of the ileal graft. Therefore, cine MRU, as a novel technique, will be extremely useful in the postoperative evaluation of patients after ileal ureter substitution.

Abstract
In this study, Marinobacter sp. N4 isolated from the halophilic consortium CY-1 was found to degrade phenanthrene as a sole carbon source with the accumulation of 1-Hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid (1H2N). With the assistance of Halomonas sp. G29, phenanthrene could be completely mineralized. The hpah1 and hpah2 gene cluster was amplified from the genome of strain N4, that were responsible for upstream and downstream of PAH degradation. Strain N4 was predicted for the transformation from phenanthrene to 1H2N, and strain G29 could transform the produced 1H2N into 1,2-dihydroxynaphthalene (1,2-DHN). The produced 1,2-DHN could be further transformed into salicylic acid (SALA) by strain N4. SALA could be catalyzed into catechol by strain G29 and further utilized by strains N4 and G29 via the catechol 2,3-dioxygenase pathway and catechol 1,2-dioxygenase pathway, respectively. NahG, encoding salicylate hydroxylase, was absent from the hpah2 gene cluster and predicted to be the reason for 1H2N accumulation in the PAH-degrading process by pure culture of strain N4. The syntrophic interaction mode among Marinobacter and other microbes was also predicted. According to our knowledge, this is the first report of the PAH-degrading gene cluster in Marinobacter and the syntrophic interaction between Marinobacter and other microbes in the PAH-degrading process.

Abstract
Objective: The objective of this research is to assess the number of casualties in China's road traffic accidents that can be reduced by lane keeping assistant (LKA) through 2030, based on the historical data on the number of fatalities and injuries in China and the proportion of LKA planed in China policy. Methods: The analysis was divided into 4 main parts: (1) Predict injuries and fatalities caused by traffic accident in China without LKA through 2030; (2) Apply the methodology to estimate the percentage reduction in injuries and fatalities assuming 100% penetration rate of LKA; (3) Predict the penetration rate of intelligent vehicles with LKA system through 2030 under Chinese government policy planning; (4) Calculate the specific number for the reduction in injuries and fatalities with LKA through 2030.Results: According to the historical accident data, the fatalities caused by traffic accidents without LKA are predicted to be 55,686 in 2020, 51,420 in 2025, and 47,484 in 2030, while the injuries are 188,285, 164,135, and 143,163. The percentage reduction with 100% penetration rate was calculated to be 14.8% for fatalities and 10.1% for injuries. Based on the China policy, the market penetration rate of intelligent vehicle with LKA was predicted to be 44.2% in 2025 and 77.7% in 2030. With the great increase of market penetration rate, the maximum reduction in injuries and fatalities from 2018 to 2030 was calculated. Compared to the previsions without LKA, 3370 fatalities and 7359 injuries will be reduced in 2025, while the specific number is 5465 fatalities and 11,270 injuries in 2030. Considering the three main limitations of LKA, the adjusted result would become approximately 1/9 of the original ideal result to be 375 fatalities and 818 injuries in 2025, while the specific number is 608 fatalities and 1253 injuries in 2030.Conclusions: The safety impact of LKA system on traffic crash fatalities and injuries reduction in China has been estimated. The results indicate that LKA system has considerable potential benefit in China. Interaction design with the driver, setting of the minimum travel speed and adaptability of the harsh conditions of the camera are the breakthrough points for maximizing safety benefits. The safety system of the intelligent vehicle has different benefits in different countries.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Among nanomaterials, Ti and ZnO nanoparticles are often chosen as preservation materials because of their antibacterial properties. Chitosan, as a natural biopolymer, has potential because of its abundance, compatibility and antibacterial properties. To improve the physicochemical and preservation properties of in situ SiOx chitosan (CS) composite coating, Ti/ZnO/SiOx CS composite coatings were prepared with Ti-doped ZnO (Ti/ZnO) nanorods and nanoballs. The composite coating structures were characterized by Fourier transform infrared, X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy, and their physicochemical and preservation properties were determined simultaneously. RESULTS The results show that the Ti/ZnO nanoparticles are beneficial to homogeneous dispersion of in situ synthesized nano SiOx in the CS coating, and that Ti/ZnO nanoballs have better dispersion than Ti/ZnO nanorods. Moreover, strong hydrogen bonds are formed among Ti/ZnO nanoparticles and in situ synthesized nano SiOx and CS molecules, and the primary structure of CS is disorganized. Thereby, the gas permeabilities and mechanical properties of the CS coatings are improved due to modification of Ti/ZnO nanoparticles, and the Ti/ZnO nanoballs/SiOx CS composite coating is optimal. The preservation properties of the CS coatings on Sciaenops ocellatus are significantly improved, and those of Ti/ZnO/in situ SiOx CS composite coatings are superior. CONCLUSION The preservation properties of the CS composite coatings on S. ocellatus are significant, and the Ti/ZnO nanoballs/SiOx CS composite coating is even better. Therefore, the co-modification method of in situ nanoparticles and antibacterial nanoparticles may be a promising method to improve the preservation properties of CS coatings. © 2019 Society of Chemical Industry.

Abstract
The majority of transport electrification studies, examining the demand and sustainability of critical metals, have focused on light-duty vehicles. Heavy-duty vehicles have often been excluded from the research scope due to their smaller vehicle stock and slower pace of electrification. This study fills this research gap by evaluating the lithium resource impacts from electrification of the heavy-duty segment at the global level. Our results show that a mass electrification of the heavy-duty segment on top of the light-duty segment would substantially increase the lithium demand and impose further strain on the global lithium supply. The significant impact is attributed to the large single-vehicle battery capacity required by heavy-duty vehicles and the expected battery replacement needed within the lifetime of heavy-duty vehicles. We suggest that the ambition of mass electrification in the heavy-duty segment should be treated with cautions for both policy makers and entrepreneurs. Resource impacts from the electrification of transport sector in terms of heavy-duty vehicles are understudied. Here the authors find that a mass deployment of plug-in electric vehicles in the heavy-duty segment at the global level can substantially increase the lithium demand.

Abstract
Chronic pain is an unmet clinical problem with vast individual, societal, and economic impact. Pathologic activity of the peripheral somatosensory afferents is one of the major drivers of chronic pain. This overexcitable state of somatosensory neurons is, in part, produced by the dysregulation of genes controlling neuronal excitability. Despite intense research, a unifying theory behind neuropathic remodelling is lacking. Here, we show that transcriptional suppressor, repressor element 1-silencing transcription factor (REST; neuron-restrictive silencing factor, NRSF), is necessary and sufficient for the development of hyperalgesic state after chronic nerve injury or inflammation. Viral overexpression of REST in mouse dorsal root ganglion (DRG) induced prominent mechanical and thermal hyperalgesia in vivo. Sensory neuron-specific, inducible Rest knockout prevented the development of such hyperalgesic state in 3 different chronic pain models. Genetic deletion of Rest reverted injury-induced hyperalgesia. Moreover, viral overexpression of REST in the same neurons in which its gene has been genetically deleted restored neuropathic hyperalgesia. Finally, sensory neuron specific Rest knockout prevented injury-induced downregulation of REST target genes in DRG neurons. This work identified REST as a major regulator of peripheral somatosensory neuron remodelling leading to chronic pain. The findings might help to develop a novel therapeutic approache to combat chronic pain.

Abstract
Abstract
Background
Third-generation drug-eluting stent (3rd DES) is commonly used now in percutaneous coronary intervention, and it has not only thinner struts, easier delivery than second-generation drug-eluting stent (2nd DES), but also abluminal biodegradable polymer. Clinical superiority of 3rd DES has been demonstrated compared to 1st and 2nd DESs. However, pathological response after 3rd DES implantation remains unclear.
Purpose
Pathological study of coronary artery after 3rd DES implantation have not been reported as far as we have referred to the previous studies. This study aimed to examine the initial tissue response after 3rd DES and 2nd DES implantation within one year.
Methods
Using specimens obtained by autopsy, we compared the histology between 3rd DES (n=3, 8 histological sections) and 2nd DES (n=6, 41 histological sections) lesions within 1 year after stent implantation to evaluate early tissue reaction. Stent segments were fixed with 10% buffered formalin and embedded in plastic, followed by hematoxylin–eosin, Masson's trichrome and elastica van Gieson. Ratio of covered stent struts by neointima was calculated. The thickness of neointima and the area of fibrin deposition were morphometrically evaluated. The degree of inflammation around struts was examined semi-quantitatively (score 0–3).
Results
The ratio of covered struts and thickness of neointima of 3rd DES were 0.84±0.04 and 68.2±10.3μm, while those of 2nd DES were 0.69±0.05 and 30.4±4.8μm respectively. The inflammation score was similar between two groups (1.00±0.14 vs. 1.02±0.16). The area of fibrin deposition around the struts was larger in 3rd DES compared with 2nd DES (1276.6±490.3μm2 vs. 658.0±173.4μm2). These results suggest that the 3rd DES may obtain prompt as well as rich covering of struts in the initial term after DES implantation. Although the biological feature of the polymers in 3rd and 2nd DESs is different, the inflammatory responses after both 3rd and 2nd DESs implantation were similar, at least within one year after deployment. The degree of inflammation was mild, less than approximately 50 inflammatory cells (score 1) around the struts.
Conclusions
Our pathological analysis showed advanced healing process in 3rd DES compared with 2nd DES lesions in the viewpoint of strut coverage by neointima. Observation of long-term pathological response may be required to evaluate the superiority of bioabsorbable polymer in 3rd DES.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the feasibility and effectiveness of the totally extraperitoneal renal autotransplantation with boari flap-pelvis anastomosis in the treatment of upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC), and to review the experience of renal autotransplantation for UTUC treatment. METHODS One case of applying the totally extraperitoneal renal autotransplantation with boari flap-pelvis anastomosis to the UTUC treatment was reported, and related literature was reviewed. The patient was a sixty-four-year old man who received right radical nephroureterectomy for right ureteral carcinoma 1 year before and diagnosed as left ureteral carcinoma(G2, high grade) this time. In order to preserve his renal function and avoid the shortness of common kidney-sparing surgery, a totally extraperitoneal procedure, including retroperitoneoscopic nephrectomy, ureterectomy, renal autotransplantation and Boari flap-pelvis anastomosis, was performed to the patient. RESULTS The operation was completed successfully without perioperative complications. The renal function recovered to preoperative level within 1 week. No deterioration of renal function during the follow-up and no tumor recurrence was observed under cystoscopy at the 3-month postoperative consult. CONCLUSION The totally extraperitoneal renal autotransplantation with Boari flap-pelvis anastomosis is a feasible and effective treatment for UTUC. The innovative procedure has several advantages compared to the former ones. The extraperitoneal procedure results in significantly less pain, shorter hospital stay, decreased overall time to recovery and lower bowel complications risk without warm ischemia time extension. Meanwhile, the Boari flap-pelvis anastomosis simplifies the follow -up protocols and creates an easy route for cystoscopy and topical therapy. From the systematic clinical analysis, as well as the related literature review, it's been concluded that the renal autotransplantation can be a reasonable option for the patients who have UTUC in solitary kidney or have bilateral UTUC. This type of treatment possesses advantages of preservation of renal function and total resection of malignant lesions. But long-term data and large cohort study on renal function or tumor recurrence are still absent which will be necessary to confirm the advantages of this approach.
