Abstract
Objective: To explore the prevalence and influencing factors of allergic conjunctivitis in Baotou area at different times. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in January 2021, 111 patients with allergic conjunctivitis who were admitted to the Department of Ophthalmology, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Baotou Medical College, Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology in 2020 were selected as the research subjects. The basic information, allergic conditions, living habits and other information of the patients were obtained by self-made questionnaire. The pollen concentration and allergy related indicators(allergic duration and frequency, eye itching score, eye burn score, eye foreign body sensation score, tears score and the total scores) of 2019 and 2020 were analyzed by paired sample t-test. The pollen concentration of 2019 and 2020 were analyzed by Wilcoxon signed rank test. The allergy related indicators of different genders were analyzed by independent sample t-test. The allergy related indicators of different ages were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance. The relationship between the length of wearing masks and the allergy related indicators were analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis. Results: Among the 111 patients with allergic conjunctivitis, 54 were males and 57 were females, ranging in age from 8 to 69 years old, with a median age of 35 years old and an average age of (36.77±13.18) years old. The average pollen concentration in Baotou in 2019 was (125.35±222.64) grains/1 000 square millimeter, and the average pollen concentration in Baotou in 2020 was (107.38±137.29) grains/1 000 square millimeter. There was no significant difference in pollen concentration between the two years(Z=-0.178, P=0.859). The severity of allergic indicators in all patients in 2020 is significantly lower than in 2019(t values were 4.701,3.587,2.582,3.661,4.444,2.784,2.555,3.886,respectively, with P<0.05). The severity of allergic indicators in male patients is lower than that of female patients (t values were -1.558, -1.257, -3.41, -3.085, -2.335, -2.897, -2.652, -4.124, respectively). The prevalence of allergic conjunctivitis dose not vary significant with age (P values were 0.504, 0.095, 0.499, 0.265, 0.284, 0.655, 0.421, 0.976, respectively). In 2020, the average time that patients wear masks is (6.55±3.28) h/d, and there is a correlation with the difference in allergy duration (r=0.191, P=0.045). Conclusion: The severity of allergic conjunctivitis in Baotou in 2020 was significantly improved compared with that in 2019, which may be related to masks wearing.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the biocompatibility of porcine omental derived extracellular matrix (ECM) hydrogel with human induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CMs) and the feasibility of ECM hydrogel as a delivery vector of cell transplantation. Methods: A series of chemical, physical and enzymatic methods were applied to acellularize the porcine omentum. Subsequently, the extracted ECM was prepared into thermosensitive hydrogel. The biochemical composition of the hydrogel was identified by histological staining. The microstructure was observed by scanning electron microscopy. The hydrogel was then injected into the myocardium of mice to observe its in situ gelation ability. Differentiation of human induced pluripotent stem cells into cardiomyocytes was achieved by small molecule induction, and then the obtained hiPSC-CMs were cultured. hiPSC-CMs cultured onto the prepared hydrogel were defined as the hydrogel group, while conventionally cultured hiPSC-CMs were defined as the control group. Cardiomyocyte viability and growth patterns were detected using live/dead staining, CCK-8 and phalloidin staining. Immunofluorescence staining and Western blot of cardiomyocytes were used to determine the survival and phenotypic maintenance markers of cardiomyocytes in materials. Results: The results of HE staining, oil red O staining and DAPI fluorescence staining showed that there was no significant cell debris, nucleus and lipid residue in the prepared ECM hydrogel. The Sirius red staining and Alcian blue staining showed that the hydrogel retained collagen and glycolaminoglycan, which were the main components of ECM. The prepared hydrogel behaves as a viscous liquid at 4 ℃ and as a gel state at 37 ℃. Scanning electron microscope results showed that the microstructure of the hydrogel was composed of irregular fibers and pores of different sizes. Under the guidance of ultrasound, the prepared ECM hydrogel could be successfully injected into the myocardium of mice. Immediately after the injection, the hyperechoic signal could be observed under ultrasound, suggesting that the hydrogel remained in the myocardium. HE staining of myocardial tissue evidenced that there was lump of gel in the injection area. The differentiated hiPSC-CMs were co-cultured with the prepared ECM hydrogel, and the results of live/dead staining showed that most of the hiPSC-CMs in the hydrogel group and the control group were alive, dead cells were scanty. The results of CCK-8 test showed that the absorbance values of the two groups were similar (P>0.05). The results of phalloidin staining showed that hiPSC-CMs could extend normally when co-cultured with ECM hydrogel. The cell morphology of the hydrogel group was similar with that of the control group, and there was no statistically significant difference in the F-actin coverage area per cell between the two groups (P>0.05). Immunofluorescence staining of cardiomyocyte markers showed that there was no significant difference in the coverage area of α-actinin and connexin-43 (Cx-43) per field between the hydrogel group and the control group (both P>0.05), the quantitative results of DAPI staining showed that there was no statistically significant difference in the number of cells between the two groups (P>0.05). Meanwhile, the results of Western blot showed that the expression levels of α-actinin and Cx-43 in cardiomyocytes in the hydrogel group were similar as those in the control group (both P>0.05). Conclusions: These results show that preparation of the ECM hydrogel from porcine omentum is successful. The hydrogel has good biocompatibility and no obvious cytotoxicity. Besides, the hydrogel can support the survival of hiPSC-CMs in vitro and maintain its phenotype. These properties make it a promising injectable cardiac tissue engineering material.

Abstract
Background: Precise targeting of brain functional networks is believed critical for treatment efficacy of rTMS (repetitive pulse transcranial magnetic stimulation) in treatment resistant major depression. Objective: To use imaging data from a “failed” clinical trial of rTMS in Veterans to test whether treatment response was associated with rTMS coil location in active but not sham stimulation, and compare fMRI functional connectivity between those stimulation locations. Methods: An imaging substudy of 49 Veterans (mean age, 56 years; range, 27e78 years; 39 male) from a randomized, sham-controlled, double-blinded clinical trial of rTMS treatment, grouping participants by clinical response, followed by group comparisons of treatment locations identified by individualized fiducial markers on structural MRI and resting state fMRI derived networks. Results: The average stimulation location for responders versus nonresponders differed in the active but not in the sham condition (P = .02). The average responder location derived from the active condition showed significant negative functional connectivity with the subgenual cingulate (P < .001) while the nonresponder location did not (P = .17), a finding replicated in independent cohorts of 84 depressed and 35 neurotypical participants. The responder and nonresponder stimulation locations evoked different seed based networks (FDR corrected clusters, all P < .03), revealing additional brain regions related to rTMS treatment outcome. Conclusion: These results provide evidence from a randomized controlled trial that clinical response to rTMS is related to accuracy in targeting the region within DLPFC that is negatively correlated with subgenual cingulate. These results support the validity of a neuro-functionally informed rTMS therapy target in Veterans.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore roles of CDGSH iron-sulfur domain-containing protein 2 (CISD2) in the progression of prostate cancer (PCa) cells, and relationships between CISD2 expression and the prognosis and clinical pathological parameters in PCa patients. PATIENTS AND METHODS Quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR) analysis and Western blot analysis were used to detect the CISD2 expression in PCa tissues and cells. CISD2 siRNA was used to inhibit the CISD2 expression. Kaplan-Meier method and Log rank analysis were performed to determine survival analysis while Chi-square test was performed to analyze the association between CISD2 and clinicopathological parameters of PCa patients. Transwell assay and wound healing assay was conducted to examine the invasion and migration ability of PCa cells, respectively. RESULTS CISD2 was up-regulated in PCa tissues and cells, and showed positive association with the poor prognosis, T stage, lymphatic invasion, prostate-specific antigen (PSA) level, and distant metastasis of PCa patients. Besides, we found that inhibition of CISD2 significantly impaired the migration and invasion ability of PCa cells. CONCLUSIONS The paper demonstrated that CISD2 could act as a new target for the diagnosis and treatment of PCa patients.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the key points of the pathological and differential diagnoses of extra-medullary masses of hematopoietic cell tumors of ambiguous lineage, and to discuss the possible solutions. Methods: Five hematopoietic cell tumors of ambiguous lineage cases were collected, including myeloid sarcoma, mixed phenotype acute leukemia, B/myeloid, T-lymphoblastic lymphoma combined with acute myeloid leukemia, acute undifferentiated leukemia with cutaneous MPDCP and early T-precursor cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The data including morphology, immunostaining, and flow cytometry analysis were collected, and we explored the problems and differential diagnosis in the diagnosis of hematopoietic cell tumors of ambiguous lineage. Results: The five cases showed that the accurate pathological diagnosis and classification of hematopoietic cell tumors of ambiguous lineage should be based on lineage-specific antigens. Moreover, tumor cells have the potential of multi-directional differentiation. In different sites or different periods, the differentiation of tumor cells may be different. Biopsy and detection of all related markers should be performed for the initial diagnosis, and the detection should be repeated when the condition of the patient changes. Combined application of multi-techniques, including morphology and flow cytometry analysis, is recommend for the diagnosis of hematopoietic cell tumors of ambiguous lineage, since the conventional morphology and immunophenotyping methods are limited. Conclusion: Hematopoietic cell tumors of ambiguous lineage are derived from hematopoietic stem cells with a potential of multi-differentiation. The differentiation of tumor cells is variable. We need to integrate cell morphology, flow cytometry, pathology, clinical data, and molecular genetics to make a comprehensive diagnosis.

Abstract
Oral and maxillofacial space infections (OMSI) are common diseases of the facial region involving fascial spaces. Recently, OMSI shows trends of multi drug-resistance, severe symptoms, and increased mortality. OMSI treatment principles need to be updated to improve the cure rate. Based on the clinical experiences of Chinese experts and with the incorporation of international counterparts' expertise, the principles of preoperative checklist, interpretation of examination results, empirical medication principles, surgical treatment principles, postoperative drainage principles, prevention strategies of wisdom teeth pericoronitis-related OMSI, blood glucose management, physiotherapy principles, Ludwig's angina treatment and perioperative care were systematically summarized and an expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of OMSI was reached. The consensus aims to provide criteria for the diagnosis and treatment of OMSI in China so as to improve the level of OMSI treatment.

Abstract
Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) is a pathological process caused by an exaggerated donor lymphocyte response to host antigens after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT). Donor T cells undergo extensive clonal expansion and differentiation, which culminate in damage to recipient target organs. Damage to the gastrointestinal tract is a main contributor to morbidity and mortality. The loss of diversity among intestinal bacteria caused by pretransplant conditioning regimens leads to an outgrowth of opportunistic pathogens and exacerbated GVHD after allo-HCT. Using murine models of allo-HCT, we found that an increase of Bacteroides in the intestinal microbiota of the recipients was associated with reduced GVHD in mice given fecal microbial transplantation. Administration of Bacteroides fragilis through oral gavage increased gut microbiota diversity and beneficial commensal bacteria and significantly ameliorated acute and chronic GVHD development. Preservation of gut integrity following B. fragilis exposure was likely attributed to increased short chain fatty acids, IL-22, and regulatory T cells, which in turn improved gut tight junction integrity and reduced inflammatory cytokine production of pathogenic T cells. The current study provides a proof of concept that a single strain of commensal bacteria can be a safe and effective means to protect gut integrity and ameliorate GVHD after allo-HCT.

Abstract
AIM To construct and validate a radiomics-based machine-learning method for preoperative prediction of distant metastasis (DM) from soft-tissue sarcoma. MATERIALS AND METHODS Seventy-seven soft-tissue sarcomas were divided into a training set (n=54) and a validation set (n=23). The performance of three feature selection methods (ReliefF, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator [LASSO], and regularised discriminative feature selection for unsupervised learning [UDFS]) and four classifiers, random forest (RF), logistic regression (LOG), K nearest neighbour (KNN), and support vector machines (SVMs), were compared for predicting the likelihood of DM. To counter the imbalance in the frequencies of DM, each machine-learning method was trained first without subsampling, then with the synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE). The performance of the radiomics model was assessed using area under the receiver-operating characteristic curve (AUC) and accuracy (ACC) values. RESULTS The performance of the LASSO and SVM algorithm combination used with SMOTE was superior to that of the algorithm combination alone. The combination of SMOTE with feature screening by LASSO and SVM classifiers had an AUC of 0.9020 and ACC of 91.30% in the validation dataset. CONCLUSION A machine-learning model based on radiomics was favourable for predicting the likelihood of DM from soft-tissue sarcoma. This will help decide treatment strategies.

Abstract
TanSat is the 1st Chinese carbon dioxide (CO2) measurement satellite, launched in 2016. In this study, the University of Leicester Full Physics (UoL-FP) algorithm is implemented for TanSat nadir mode XCO2 retrievals. We develop a spectrum correction method to reduce the retrieval errors by the online fitting of an 8th order Fourier series. The spectrum-correction model and its a priori parameters are developed by analyzing the solar calibration measurement. This correction provides a significant improvement to the O2 A band retrieval. Accordingly, we extend the previous TanSat single CO2 weak band retrieval to a combined O2 A and CO2 weak band retrieval. A Genetic Algorithm (GA) has been applied to determine the threshold values of post-screening filters. In total, 18.3% of the retrieved data is identified as high quality compared to the original measurements. The same quality control parameters have been used in a footprint independent multiple linear regression bias correction due to the strong correlation with the XCO2 retrieval error. Twenty sites of the Total Column Carbon Observing Network (TCCON) have been selected to validate our new approach for the TanSat XCO2 retrieval. We show that our new approach produces a significant improvement on the XCO2 retrieval accuracy and precision when compared to TCCON with an average bias and RMSE of -0.08 ppm and 1.47 ppm, respectively. The methods used in this study can help to improve the XCO2 retrieval from TanSat and subsequently the Level-2 data production, and hence will be applied in the TanSat operational XCO2 processing.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to investigate long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) TP73-AS1 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues and cells, and to further investigate whether it can accelerate the progression of HCC by regulating microRNA-103. PATIENTS AND METHODS Quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR) was performed to examine TP73-AS1 expression in 60 pairs of HCC tissues and adjacent ones, and the association between lncRNATP73-AS1 level and clinical indicators of HCC as well as patients' prognosis was analyzed. Meanwhile, qRT-PCR was used to further verify TP73-AS1 expression in HCC cell lines. The lncRNA TP73-AS1 knockdown model was constructed using lentivirus in the HCC cell lines, including Bel-7402 and HepG2. Cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8), 5-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU), and flow cytometry assays were performed to figure out the influence of TP73-AS1 on the basic biological function of the HCC cells. Finally, the involved potential regulatory mechanism was explored using cell recovery experiments, and the relationship between TP73-AS1 and microRNA-103 was further studied. RESULTS QRT-PCR results indicated that TP73-AS1 expression in HCC samples was conspicuously enhanced compared with paracancerous tissues, and patients with a relatively high level of TP73-AS1 had a higher tumor stage and a lower overall survival rate. Meanwhile, the proliferation ability of cells in the sh-TP73-AS1 group was strikingly lower than that in the control group, while cell apoptosis showed the opposite trend. Besides, qRT-PCR results indicated a negative correlation between microRNA-103 and TP73-AS1 in HCC tissue specimens. The results of the luciferase reporting assay revealed that TP73-AS1 could be targeted by microRNA-103 through binding site. In addition, the cell recovery experiment demonstrated that TP73-AS1 and microRNA-103 might have a mutual regulation, and the two of which could together affect the malignant progression of HCC. CONCLUSIONS TP73-AS1 expression was conspicuously enhanced both in HCC tissues and cell lines, which were associated with advanced tumor stage and poor prognosis. In addition, TP73-AS1 could accelerate the proliferation of HCC cells by regulating microRNA-103.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluatethe clinical efficacy and complications of skin graft and flap plastic technique covered the defect in perineal Paget's disease postoperatively. Methods: The study comprised 6 patients diagnosed with perineal Paget's disease at Beijing Chao-Yang Hospital from June 2017 to July 2019, with all available clinical data reviewed. The defects after resection of lesions were reconstructed with skin graft, advancement skin flap during the operation, respectively. The operation time, the skin graft or flap survival situation, intraoperative and postoperative complications were recorded. Results: Of all 6 patients, Ray stage A1consisted of 1 case, A2 5 cases. The age was (68±9) years, the hospitalization time was (14.8±8.1) days, the BMI was (25.6±3.7) kg/m(2), the operation time was (132.0±80.7) min, and the average blood loss was (18.3±11.7) ml. Five cases was with Paget's disease, and 1 case with skin adenocarcinoma with Paget's disease were diagnosed by pathology. The defects of 4 cases and 2 cases after removal of the tumor were reconstructed with scrotal advancement skin flap and skin graft, respectively. The skin graft and flap survived well during afollow-up of (15.3±8.1) months.There has been no local recurrence. The foreskin edema and wound infection were noted in 4 cases and 1 case, respectively. There was no other related complications. Conclusion: Perineal Paget's disease can be managed by resection and immediate reconstruction with skin graft or flap according to the size and location of the defect, and the clinical efficacy is distinct.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the application of axillary reverse mapping (ARM) in breast cancer sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB), and to collect and record patient's data during operation. Through the specific experimental data, the anatomical location and morphology of the intercostal brachial nerve (ICBN) and the anatomic relationship of the axillary lymph nodes were analyzed to accurately locate the anatomical division of the axillary fossa of sentinel lymph node (SLN) and ARM lymph nodes. Methods: The technique of methylene blue staining for SLN combined with indocyanine green fluorescent staining for axillary reverse mapping was used to analyze the patients of Tianjin Central Hospital of Gynecology Obstetrics from June 2017 to June 2018. The clinical data of 35 patients with T1-2N0M0 breast cancer were analyzed. Results: Of the 35 patients, two cases were excluded from metastatic carcinoma of the SLN. Thirty-three cases were included in the data analysis. Three cases of ICBN were located 0-2.0 cm (9.09%) from the lower edge of the iliac vein, 27 cases were located at 2.0-4.0 cm (81.82%), and 3 cases of ICBN were located greater than 4.0 cm (9.09%). In the region of 0-2.0 cm from the lower edge of the iliac vein, 1-2 ARM lymph nodes were found in 5 cases; in the 2.0-4.0 cm area, SLN was found in 33 cases, 4 of which found 1 coincident lymph node; at>4.0 cm ARM lymph nodes and overlapping lymph nodes were not found in the cm region, and 1-2 SLNs were found in 3 cases. Conclusions: Individual ICBNs vary greatly, with different shapes and distances from the lower edge of the axillary vein. The axillary region below the iliac vein can be divided into three regions: ARM region (0-2.0 cm); SLN region (2.0-4.0 cm); and sentinel gate region (>4.0 cm). The position 2.0 cm from the lower edge of the iliac vein can be used as the boundary between the ARM lymph node and the SLN. 4. There is a certain proportion of coincidence rate between SLN and ARM lymph nodes.

Abstract
Objective: To identify the epidemic clones of MRSA isolates at a hospital in shanghai. Methods: A total of 72 MRSA isolates have been isolated from a second grade hospital between 2017 and 2018, including 32 CA-MRSA isolates, 13 HA-MRSA isolates and 26 MRSA isolates from environment. In this study, MLST and PFGE typing methods were used to analyze the molecular epidemiology of the MRSA isolates. Results: A total of 72 MRSA isolates have been obtained including 46 isolates from clinical specimens, 26 isolates from environments. The 46 MRSA isolates from clinical specimens consisted of 33 CA-MRSA (community-acquired MRSA) and 13 HA-MRSA (hospital-acquired MRSA). Furthermore, these patients infected with MRSA isolates were mostly distributed in the department of geriatrics (34.8%, 16/46), internal medicine (26.1%, 12/46) and surgery (26.1%, 12/46). MLST typing results showed that ST764 was predominant in isolates from both clinical specimens and hospital environments. Furthermore, PFGE typing results showed that most ST764 MRSA had high homolog (>90%). Conclusion: ST764 MRSA isolates might spread in community, hospital and environments. Therefore, continuous monitoring of MRSA and its variation may be useful in understanding the involvement of epidemic clone, and in searching new strategies to control MRSA infection.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics and therapeutic effect of neurotrophic keratitis (NK). Methods: A retrospective case series study. A total of 46 patients (48 eyes) with clinically diagnosed NK in Beijing Tongren Hospital from May 2013 to July 2016 were analyzed, including 26 males (26 eyes) and 20 females (22 eyes), aged (51±18) years. The general condition, etiology, clinical features, stage of disease and curative effect of NK patients were summarized. Corneal sensation was measured by Cochet-Bonnet corneal sensor for 25 patients (26 eyes), and the correlation between corneal sensation and clinical staging was analyzed. The χ(2) test was performed on the distribution characteristics of patients with different clinical stages of NK. Correlation analysis of corneal sensation and the disease stage was performed using Spearman correlation analysis. Results: Forty-four cases of monocular disease (96.65%) and 2 cases (4.35%) of bilateral disease were enrolled. Four eyes (8.33%) were from young patients (aged 18-29 years), 23 (47.92%) were from middle-aged patients (aged 30-59 years), and 21 (43.75%) were from elderly patients (aged ≥60 years). The disease was at stage Ⅰ in 8 eyes (16.67%), at stage Ⅱ in 21 eyes (43.75%), and stage Ⅲ in 19 eyes (39.58%). There was no significant difference in clinical staging between the three age groups (χ(2)=2.452, P=0.658). The most common cause of NK was virus infection (17 eyes,35.42%), followed by neurosurgical sequelae (11 eyes, 22.92%) and diabetes in 10 eyes(20.83%). Corneal sensation of 26 eyes ranged from 0-3 cm. There was no significant correlation between clinical stage and corneal sensation (r(2)=0.284, P=0.753). The patients were followed up for an average of 7 months. Thirty-four eyes (70.83%) received conservative treatment, and 8 eyes(16.67%) had surgery. Six patients (6 eyes) were lost for follow-up. Conclusions: NK can occur in all ages, mainly in the elderly. The clinical manifestations are diverse. If time delays in the diagnosis and treatment, it often causes corneal ulcers. There is no significant correlation between corneal sensation and clinical stage. Early diagnosis and targeted treatment are important for protecting patients' visual function.(Chin J Ophthalmol, 2020, 56:274-298).

Abstract
Mitochondrial function is critical for cell vitality in all eukaryotes including plants. Although plant mitochondria contain many proteins, few have been studied in the context of plant development and physiology. We used knock-down mutant RPS9M to study its important role in male gametogenesis and seed development in Arabidopsis thaliana. Knock-down of RPS9M in the rps9m-3 mutant led to abnormal pollen development and impaired pollen tube growth. In addition, both embryo and endosperm development were affected. Phenotype analysis revealed that the rps9m-3 mutant contained a lower amount of endosperm and nuclear proteins, and both embryo cell division and embryo pattern were affected, resulting in an abnormal and defective embryo. Lowering the level of RPS9M in rps9m-3 affects mitochondrial ribosome biogenesis, energy metabolism and production of ROS. Our data revealed that RPS9M plays important roles in normal gametophyte development and seed formation, possibly by sustaining mitochondrial function.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the protective effect of hydrogen in a rat model of osteoradionecrosis of the jaw (ORNJ). The rats and bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) were pre-treated with hydrogen before receiving irradiation (7Gy per fraction, five fractions in total once a day for rats, 4Gy for BMSCs). Reactive oxygen species (ROS) and cell differentiation were measured in the BMSCs. Also, the radioprotective effect of hydrogen for ORNJ in Sprague-Dawley rats was examined by gross clinical manifestations, micro-computed tomography, and histology. Hydrogen significantly reduced the production of ROS in BMSCs after irradiation. The cell viability was significantly decreased after irradiation (P= 0.001), but pre-treatment with hydrogen before irradiation increased the cell viability (P= 0.025). Hydrogen considerably increased the cellular differentiation potential of the irradiated cells. Comparing with the rats underwent irradiaton only, those rats treated by hydrogen-rich saline significantly appeared improved occlusion, salivation, alopecia, oral ulcer, and less bone necrosis. Myofibroblasts accumulated overwhelmingly in the fibrosis medulla and around the sequestrum after irradiation, and this was decreased in the group pre-treated with hydrogen. Hydrogen may represent a strategy for the prevention and treatment of ORNJ. Its high efficacy and low toxicity suggest possible therapeutic application.

Abstract
H3K9ac, an epigenetic marker, is widely distributed in plant genomes. H3K9ac enhances gene expression, which is highly conserved in eukaryotes. However, genome-wide studies of H3K9ac in monocot species are limited, and the changes in H3K9ac under drought stress for individual genes are still not clear. We analysed changes in the H3K9ac level of Brachypodium distachyon under 20% PEG-6000-simulated drought stress conditions. We also performed chromatin immunoprecipitation, followed by next generation sequencing (ChIP-seq) on H3K9ac to reveal changes in H3K9ac for individual genes at the genome-wide level. Our study showed that H3K9ac was mainly enriched in gene exon regions. Drought increased or decreased the H3K9ac level at specific genomic loci. We identified 40 genes associated with increased H3K9ac levels and 36 genes associated with decreased H3K9ac levels under drought stress. Further, RT-qPCR analyses showed that H3K9ac was positively associated with gene expression of those drought-responsive genes. We conclude that H3K9ac enhances the expression level of a large number of drought-responsive genes under drought stress in B. distachyon. The data presented here will help to reveal the correlation of some specific drought-responsive genes and their enriched H3K9ac levels in the model plant B. distachyon.

Abstract
Stimulator of interferon genes (STING) plays an important role in eliciting innate immune responses by sensing tumor and microbial DNA in anti-tumor and anti-infection responses, respectively. How the STING signal affects allogeneic response is not clear. To address this question, we utilized murine models of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HCT). By transferring donor bone marrow (BM) and T cells into allogeneic recipients, we found that significantly more severe graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) was induced in STING−/− recipients as compared to WT controls. By generating BM-chimeric mice in which STING was deficient in hematopoietic or non-hematopoietic antigen-presenting cells (APCs), we confirmed that STING on hematopoietic cells was primarily responsible for constraining host APC function. We further demonstrated that STING on host CD11c+ APCs played a predominant role in the regulation of allogenic T-cell responses. Mechanistically, we found that host CD11c+IAb+ cells deficient for STING could survive better and be activated more strongly after allo-HCT. As a consequence, STING-deficient APCs augmented donor T-cell expansion, chemokine receptor expression and migration into intestinal tissues, resulting accelerated/exacerbated GVHD after allo-HCT. Using pharmacologic approaches, we further demonstrated that systemic administration of STING agonist (c-diGMP) on recipient mice before irradiation significantly reduced GVHD mortality. In conclusion, we reveal a novel role of STING in APC activity that dictates T-cell allogenic responses, and validate STING as a potential therapeutic target for controlling GVHD after allo-HCT.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Cancer patients receiving chemotherapy are a high risk of VTE, yet the importance of thromboprophylaxis for cancer patients that are at high risk of developing VTE is still controversial. AIM To calculate the benefits and harms of thromboprophylaxis, compared to placebo, in ambulatory high-risk cancer patients that are receiving chemotherapy. METHODS We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, the Cochrane Library, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, WANFANG Data, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure and Chinese Scientific Journal Database for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) describing benefits and harms of thromboprophylaxis. Statistical analysis was performed using Stata software (version 15.1). RESULTS We included six studies, which contained a total of 3240 cancer patients with thromboprophylaxis and 2874 cancer patients without thromboprophylaxis. Thromboprophylaxis was effective in high-risk patients with two points or higher (RR 0.51, 95% CI 0.36-0.71, I2 = 0.0%, P = 0.526). It was associated with an increase in bleeding events (RR 1.65, 95% CI 1.14-2.40, I2 = 0.0%, P = 0.498) and was mainly efficient in reducing the risk of pulmonary embolism (RR 0.56, 95% CI 0.33-0.96, I2 = 0.0%, P = 0.263). The risk of major (RR 1.85, 95% CI 0.87-3.94, I2 = 0.0%, P = 0.888) and non-major (RR 1.59, 95% CI 0.96-2.62, I2 = 16.3%, P = 0.303) bleeding showed no significant difference with or without thromboprophylaxis. There was no reduction in all-cause mortality with thromboprophylaxis (RR 0.95, 95% CI 0.78-1.18, I2 = 22.0%, P = 0.277). CONCLUSION Thromoboprophylaxis is effective and safe in cancer patients that are at high risk for developing VTE with chemotherapy.

Abstract
Osteoradionecrosis of the mandible (MORN) is one of the most devastating complications caused by radiation therapy in the head and neck region. It is characterized by infection and chronic necrosis of the mandible as the main manifestation. Clinically, MORN-related symptoms include swelling, pain, dysphagia, trismus, masticatory or speech disorders, refractory orocutaneous fistula, bone exposure, and even pathological fracture. MORN has become a challenging clinical problem for oral and maxillofacial surgeons to deal with, but thus far, this problem has not been solved due to the lack of widely accepted treatment algorithms or guidelines. Because of the nonexistence of standardized treatment criteria, most clinical treatment against MORN nowadays is largely based on controversial empirical understandings, while recommendations on post-therapeutic evaluations are scarce. Therefore, to further unify and standardize the diagnosis and treatment of MORN, to decrease the huge waste of medical resources, and ultimately, to improve the wellbeing of the patients, the Chinese Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (CSOMS) convened an expert panel specialized in MORN from 16 domestic medical colleges and affiliated hospitals to discuss the spectrum of diagnosis and and formulate treatment. In addition, consensus recommendations were also revised with a comprehensive literature review of the previous treatment experiences and research pearls. This 'expert consensus statement on diagnosis and clinical management of MORN' is for clinical reference.

Abstract
High-precision radiometric calibration (RC) coefficients are required to retrieve reliable water quality parameter products in turbid inland/coastal waters. However, unreliable RC coefficients when satellite sensors lack accurate and in-time RC may lead to pronounced uncertainties in the products through error propagation. To address this issue, a novel approach for estimating water quality parameters, taking suspended particulate matter (SPM) as a case, was proposed by coupling the procedures of RC and SPM model development. The coupled models were established using digital numbers (DNs) from target sensors and "in-situ" SPM measurements from concurrent well-calibrated reference sensors, with the RC coefficients introduced as unknown model parameters. The approach was tested and validated in varied Chinese inland/coastal regions, including the Hongze lake (HL), Taihu lake (TL), and Hangzhou bay (HB). The results show: (1) the DN-based SPM models can achieve a degree of accuracy comparable to reflectance-based SPM models with determination coefficients (R2) of 0.94, 0.92, and 0.72, and root-mean-square errors (RMSE) of 7.02 mg/L, 15.73 mg/L, and 619.2 mg/L for the HL, TL, and HB, respectively, and the biases less than 3% between the derived and official gain RC coefficients; (2) the uncertainty of SPM products increases exponentially as the RC uncertainty increases for exponential reflectance-based SPM models; (3) the DN-based SPM models are less sensitive to the uncertainties of atmospheric correction and RC coefficients, while the reflectance-based models suffer deeply. This study provides encouraging results to the improvement of SPM retrieval using the DN-based models by coupling RC and SPM retrieving processes, especially for sensors without precise RC coefficients.

Abstract
Objective: To research the auditory nerve transduction effects under multi-wavelength pulsed laser stimulations within a safe and acceptable signal range. Methods: The real-time detection of intracellular calcium concentration was adopted by specific fluorescent indicator staining based on calcium imager. The spiral ganglion cells of mice were cultured in vitro. After fluorescent indicating, morphologic observation under optical microscope, Fura-2 calcium ion fluorescence excitation, intact morphology cells selection, fixing the optical fiber, the spiral ganglion cells were irradiated by different wavelength laser, including visible light (450 nm) and near infrared light (808 nm,1 065 nm). The intracellular calcium concentration was monitored by calcium ion imaging. Results: When 450 nm laser stimulated spiral ganglion cells, the intracellular calcium concentration was strongly increased, however, for other wavelength laser stimulation, there was no obvious relative response. And the sensitivity expression of the nerve cells under laser was related with the location of laser fiber. Cells closer to the fiber produced more obvious changes in calcium ion concentration, while for cells farther away from the fiber, the change amplitudes were weaker although the number of changes in calcium ion concentration was consistent. Conclusion: The spiral ganglion cells of mice can induce a signal transduction response under the action of laser, and the response has laser wavelength selectivity.

Adoptive transfer of induced regulatory T cells (iTregs) can ameliorate graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (allo-HCT). CD4+ iTregs can effectively prevent GVHD but impair the graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) effect, whereas CD8+ iTregs preserve the GVL effect but have limited efficacy in GVHD control because of their instability under inflammatory conditions. Thus, we aimed to stabilize CD8+ iTregs via treatment with vitamin C (Vit C) to improve their efficacy in controlling GVHD. We found that addition of Vit C significantly improved the stability of forkhead box P3 (Foxp3) expression in CD8+ iTregs. Moreover, Vit C-treated CD8+ iTregs exhibited high efficacy in attenuating acute and chronic GVHD. The mechanistic study revealed that addition of Vit C to CD8+ iTreg culture markedly increased DNA demethylation in the conserved noncoding sequence 2 region and, hence, maintained higher Foxp3 expression levels compared with untreated controls. In acute GVHD, Vit C-treated CD8+ iTregs were able to inhibit pathogenic T-cell expansion and differentiation while reducing thymus damage and B-cell activation in cGVHD. Importantly, in contrast to CD4+ iTregs, Vit C-treated CD8+ iTregs retained the ability to control tumor relapse. These results provide a strong rationale to use Vit C in the clinic to stabilize CD8+ iTregs for the control of GVHD and preservation of GVL after allo-HCT.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore whether bone marrow stem cells (MSCs)-derived exosomes extracted from osteoporosis patients could inhibit osteogenesis via microRNA-21/SMAD7. PATIENTS AND METHODS MSCs from osteoporosis patients were isolated and cultured. MSCs morphology was observed, and the specific surface antigens were identified by flow cytometry. The osteogenic ability of MSCs was detected by alizarin red staining and oil red staining. Exosomes were collected from MSCs suspension by ultracentrifugation, and microRNA-21 expression in MSCs derived-exosomes was detected. Moreover, protein and mRNA levels of ALP, Bglap, and Runx2 in MSCs treated with different sources of MSCs-derived exosomes were detected by qRT-PCR (quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction) and Western blot, respectively. ALP activity in MSCs was accessed by a relative commercial kit. Furthermore, binding sites of microRNA-21 and SMAD7 were predicted by Targetscan, miRWalk, and miRDB, and were further verified by luciferase reporter gene assay. SMAD7 expression in MSCs derived-exosomes was also detected. RESULTS MSCs extracted from healthy adults, and osteoporosis patients were in adherent growth and exhibited elongated morphology, which could differentiate into osteoblasts and lipoblasts after different inductions. MicroRNA-21 expression in MSCs-derived exosomes extracted from osteoporosis patients was remarkably higher than those extracted from healthy adults. Decreased Runx2 expression and ALP activity were found after treatment of MSCs-derived exosomes extracted from osteoporosis patients. SMAD7 was confirmed to bind to microRNA-21 and was downregulated in osteoporosis patients in comparison with healthy adults. Overexpression of SMAD7 resulted in downregulated ALP, Bglap, and Runx2. CONCLUSIONS MicroRNA-21 inhibits osteogenesis through regulating MSCs-derived exosomes extracted from osteoporosis patients via targeting SMAD7.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Intraspinal paragonimiasis is a rare entity for which imaging findings have seldom been described. The present study investigated the MR imaging features of spinal paragonimiasis, thus providing diagnostic imaging evidence and exploring the possible pathogenesis of intraspinal paragonimiasis. MATERIALS AND METHODS The clinical and imaging findings of spinal paragonimiasis in 6 children were analyzed retrospectively. Spinal MR imaging was performed in all patients, 5 of whom also underwent enhanced MR imaging. The diagnosis was confirmed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in all cases and postoperative pathology in 4 cases. RESULTS All cases manifested as fusiform-shaped or beanlike masses in the extradural space in the thoracic spine. The extradural masses were connected with pleural lesions through the intervertebral foramen. The plain MR imaging scan showed mixed signals with predominant isointensity on T1WI and hyperintensity on T2WI, among which 5 (5/6) masses presented as patchy hemorrhage with hyperintensity on T1WI. On enhanced scans, all masses (5/5) showed heterogeneous marked enhancement, with thickening and enhancement in the adjacent spinal meninges (5/5). Various degrees of spinal cord compression and edema were found in 5 cases (5/6). CONCLUSIONS MR imaging is sensitive for detecting and characterizing spinal paragonimiasis. The MR imaging features of intraspinal granulomas included localization to the extradural space and thoracic segment, connections between intraspinal lesions and pleural lesions through the intervertebral foramen, and hemorrhagic foci within the mass. These findings support an intraspinal mode of paragonimiasis pathogenesis: The Paragonimus larvae migrate from the chest into the extradural space through the intervertebral foramen.

[Risk factor analysis of perioperative complications in patients with radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer]. Abstract
Objective: To identify the risk factors of perioperative complications after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer. Methods: A retrospective case-control study was performed. Case inclusion criteria: (1) patients undergoing radical gastrectomy (D2); (2) primary gastric cancer without distant organ metastasis confirmed by postoperative pathology; (3) no neoadjuvant chemotherapy before surgery. Patients with peritoneal tumor dissemination found during operation, undergoing palliative operation due to distant metastasis, and undergoing combined organ resection and those without complete clinicopathological data were excluded. According to the above criteria, 426 patients with gastric cancer at our department from January 2015 to June 2017 were included in this study. Of 426 patients, 285 were male and 141 were female with a mean age of (55.4±9.7) years. According to the "Japan Clinical Cancer Research Group (JCOG) classification criteria for postoperative complications of gastric cancer", patients with grade II and higher complications were classified as complication group, and patients with no complication or grade I complication were classified as non-complication group. Baseline data were compared between two groups. Associations of perioperative complication with gender, age, body mass index, preoperative routine laboratory test, American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) classification, activities of daily living (ADL) assessment, past medical history as well as preoperative conditions (hypertension and/or diabetes), surgical resection procedure, incision type, operation time, intraoperative blood loss/body mass ratio were examined. Univariate analysis was performed using χ(2) test and the Wilcoxon rank sum test to screen the statistically significant variables associated with perioperative complications. The significant variables were included in multivariate logistic regression analysis to identify risk factors of perioperative complication. Results: Grade II or higher complications after surgery were developed in 97 patients (22.8%), which included anastomotic leakage in 18 cases (4.2%), postoperative bleeding in 9 cases (2.1%), abdominal abscess in 5 cases (1.2%), intestinal obstruction in 5 cases (1.2%), pancreatic leakage in 1 case (0.2%), and other adverse events in 59 cases (13.8%). Univariate analysis suggested that the gender, age, ADL, incision type, intraoperative blood loss/body mass ratio, and operation time were associated with perioperative complication (all P<0.05). Multivariate analysis revealed that elder age (OR=1.033, 95% CI:1.013-1.053, P=0.013), incision type of laparotomy (OR=2.091, 95% CI:1.247-3.508, P=0.004), longer operation time (OR=1.004, 95% CI:1.001-1.007, P=0.001) and higher ratio of intraoperative blood loss/body mass (OR=1.100, 95% CI: 1.039-1.163, P=0.031) were risk factors for postoperative complications. Conclusion: Attention should be paid to those cases with elder age, laparotomy incision, longer operation time and higher ratio of intraoperative blood loss/body mass, and perioperative management after gastrectomy should be improved.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the risk factors of coloanal anastomotic stricture after laparoscopic intersphincteric resection (Lap-ISR) for patients with low rectal cancer. Methods: A retrospective case-control study was performed to collect clinicopathological data from a prospective database (registration number: ChiCTR-ONC-15007506) at the Department of Colorectal Surgery, the Characteristic Medical center of PLA Rocket Force. From June 2011 to August 2018, a total of 144 consecutive patients with low rectal cancer who underwent Lap-ISR were enrolled in the study. Inclusion criteria: (1) reconstruction of digestive tract by end-to-end hand-made coloanal anastomosis (HCAA); (2) distance from lower tumor margin to anorected sphincter ring < 1 cm and distance from lower tumor margin to intersphincteric groove ≥ 1 cm; (3) T1-3 stage tumor with expected negative circumferential resection margin evaluated by preoperative MRI or 3D endoanal ultrasound; (4) rectal cancer confirmed as well- or moderately-differentiated adenocarcinoma; (5) preoperative Wexner incontinence score >10 points. Exclusion criteria: (1) follow-up period less than 3 months; (2) multiple primary cancers; (3) undergoing colonic J-pouch, coloplasty or reconstruction of end-to-side coloanal anastomosis; (4) death within perioperative period (within 3 months after surgery). Coloanal anastomotic stricture was diagnosed if the index finger or 12 mm electronic colonoscope had obvious resistance through the anastomosis or new rectum, or could not pass, accompanied by clinical symptoms such as difficult defecation and anal incontinence. Degree of anastomotic stricture was divided into 3 grades: grade A required anal enlargement, laxative or enema to assist defecation without active surgical treatment; grade B required surgery or endoscopic intervention; grade C required definitive ostomy, including unreducible preventive ileostomy or permanent colostomy. Univariate and multivariate analysis were used to evaluate the effects of 28 variables, including baseline data (age, gender, body mass index, neoadjuvant therapy, etc.), tumor-related factors (distance between tumor low margin and anal edge, maximum diameter of tumor, TNM staging, etc.), surgery-related factors (operation time, intraoperative blood loss, ISR procedure, anastomotic height, etc.) and anastomotic leakage, on the postoperative coloanal anastomotic stricture. Univariate analysis used χ(2) test or Fisher's exact test, then factors with P<0.05 were further included in multivariate analysis using logistic regression. Results: A total of 144 patients were enrolled in the study, including 90 males and 54 females with a median age of 59 years and median BMI of 24.88 kg/m(2). R0 resection rate was 96.5% (139/144). Median tumor distal resection margin was 1.5 (0.5 to 3.0) cm. Median follow-up was 31.5 (4 to 86) months. Coloanal anastomotic stricture was observed in 19 patients (13.2%), including 3 cases (2.1%) of grade A, 9 cases (6.2%) of grade B, and 7 cases (4.9%) of grade C. The median interval from the initial surgery to diagnosis of anastomotic stricture was 7 (1 to 31) months. Univariate analysis showed that male (χ(2)=6.795, P=0.009), radiotherapy (χ(2)=13.330, P=0.001), operation type of ISR (χ(2)=7.996, P=0.013), and anastomotic leakage (χ(2)=10.198, P=0.004) were associated with the postoperative coloanal anastomotic stricture. Multivariate analysis further indicated that male (OR=5.975, 95% CI: 1.209-29.534, P=0.028), postoperative radiotherapy (OR=8.748, 95% CI: 2.397-31.929, P=0.001), and anastomotic leakage (OR=6.313, 95% CI: 1.834-21.734, P=0.003) were independent risk factor of postoperative coloanal anastomotic stricture. Conclusion: For male patients, or patients with postoperative radiotherapy or anastomotic leakage, close follow-up should be carried out to prevent postoperative coloanal anastomotic stricture following Lap-ISR.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the sensitivity and specificity of fungal fluorescent staining in the diagnosis of fungal keratitis, and to compare it with conventional fungal culture, in vivo confocal microscopy (IVCM) and Giemsa staining. To explore its value of clinical application. Methods: Prospective case-control study. A total of 105 consecutive patients (105 eyes) diagnosed with infectious keratitis at Beijing Tongren Hospital from August 2017 to April 2018 were included. Patients with infectious keratitis were divided into fungal keratitis (FK) group and non-fungal keratitis (NFK) group by slit lamp microscopy, corneal in vivo confocal microscopy (IVCM) examination, and the results of Giemsa staining, fluorescent staining and pathogenic culture of corneal scraping from ulcer. The sensitivity and specificity of the above-mentioned examination methods for the diagnosis of fungal keratitis were analyzed. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC curve) and Area Under Curve (AUC) values were calculated to determine the diagnostic value of fungal fluorescent staining for fungal keratitis. Results: Among the 105 patients with infectious keratitis, 66 were fungal keratitis, 39 were non-fungal keratitis (29 cases of bacterial keratitis and 10 cases of acanthamoeba keratitis). Isolation from fungal keratitis were mainly Fusarium spp. (43.5%), followed by Alternaria spp. (21.7%) and Aspergillus spp. (19.6%). After fluorescent staining of the ulcer smear, the background of tissue demonstrated homogeneous black or weak blue fluorescence. The cell wall of fungi showed bright blue-violet to blue fluorescence, and the morphology, structure and hyphal density were easily recognized. The sensitivity of different methods for the diagnosis of corneal fungal infection were smear fluorescence staining (97.0%), IVCM (87.9%) , Giemsa staining (86.7%), and fungal culture (69.7%); the specificity of fungal culture was the highest (100%), followed by IVCM and Giemsa staining (94.9%), and fluorescent staining (87.2%). The ascending order of AUC values was: fungal culture (0.848) <Giemsa staining (0.906) <IVCM (0.914) <fluorescence staining (0.921). Conclusion: Fungal fluorescent staining is a rapid and sensitive screening method under microscope with high sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of fungal keratitis. It is especially suitable for the diagnosis of patients with low load of hypha or after antifungal therapy. (Chin J Ophthalmol, 2019, 55:601-608).

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the severity of median nerve damage in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) , and to analyze its relationship with body mass index (BMI) and wrist joint index. Methods: From May 2016 to January 2017, 23 patients with mild CTS (mild group) and 35 patients with moderate to severe CTS (moderate to severe group) were enrolled in this study. And 22 healthy volunteers matched for sex and age were selected as control group. The neuroelectrophysiological monitor was used to measure the median nerve movement and sensory nerve conduction in the subjects. The BMI and wrist joint index were calculated. The relationship of neuroelectrophysiological parameters with BMI and wrist joint index was analyzed in the CTS patients. Results: Compared with the control group, the mild group and the moderate to severe group had significantly higher wrist joint index, significantly longer distal motor latency (DML) of the median nerve, and significantly lower sensory nerve conduction velocity (SNCV) and sensory nerve action potential (SNAP) amplitude of the finger 1-wrist and finger 3-wrist (P<0.01) ; the moderate to severe group had significantly higher BMI and significantly lower composite muscle action potential (CMAP) amplitude (P<0.01) . The wrist joint index and BMI were positively correlated with DML of the median nerve and negatively correlated with SCV and SNAP amplitude of the finger 1-wrist and finger 3-wrist (all P<0.05) . The patients with a wrist joint index of >0.73 had a significantly higher risk of CTS than those with a wrist joint index of <0.73 (odd ratio=30.67, 95% confidence interval: 3.79-248.36) . Conclusion: A wrist joint index of >0.73 is an independent risk factor for CTS in manual laborers. CTS should be prevented in the manual laborers with high wrist joint index and BMI.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the role of integrin αv in Angiotensin II (Ang II)-induced exocytosis and endocytosis of galectin-3 (gal-3) in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). MATERIALS AND METHODS A primary culture of mouse VSMCs was established by the enzymatic digestion of aorta. Adeno-Cre was used to specifically knockdown integrin αv. VSMCs were treated with Ang II, LY294002 (inhibitor of AKT signaling pathway), and Bay11-7082 (inhibitor of nuclear factor-kappa B, NF-κB), respectively. Endocytosis of His-tagged gal-3 was analyzed by immunofluorescence. The Western blot was performed to detect the protein level in cell supernatant and lysate. RESULTS Ang II increased the exocytosis of gal-3 and activated AKT and NF-κB signaling pathways. The knockdown integrin αv effectively decreased the activation of AKT and NF-κB signals and the exocytosis of gal-3 induced by Ang II, but it had a little effect on the endocytosis of gal-3. Ang II increased the phosphorylation of AKT and NF-κB through integrin αv. AKT is the upstream signal of the NF-κB signaling pathway. LY294002 or Bay11-7082 could decrease Ang II-induced exocytosis of gal-3 in VSMCs. CONCLUSIONS Ang II, depending on integrin αv/AKT/NF-κB signaling pathway, induced the exocytosis of gal-3.

Abstract
Background Isoflurane preconditioning (IPC) induces cerebral ischaemic tolerance, but the mechanism remains poorly understood. The aim of this study was to determine changes in mitochondrial function in the brain after IPC, and whether the cannabinoid receptor 1 (CB1R) could be involved in the mechanism of mitochondrial protection mediated by IPC. Methods Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were pretreated with isoflurane 2% for 1 h day -1 , for 5 days consecutively, and then subjected to 120 min right middle cerebral artery occlusion. Cannabinoid receptor 1 expression in the cellular and mitochondrial membrane was measured. The CB1R agonist HU-210 was administered alone, or the antagonists AM251 and SR141716A were given to the animals before each preconditioning. Neurological scores, infarct volume, apoptosis, and mitochondrial function were examined after middle cerebral artery occlusion. Results Expression of CB1R on cellular and mitochondrial membranes was increased 6 h after preconditioning. Both IPC and HU-210 administration before middle cerebral artery occlusion improved neurological outcomes and reduced infarct volume. Isoflurane preconditioning increased the expression of the anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-2 and Bcl-X L and reduced apoptosis in neurones. Isoflurane preconditioning and HU-210 also markedly preserved the activity of respiratory chain complexes, reduced mitochondrial radical generation, preserved mitochondrial membrane potential, and inhibited mitochondrial permeability transition pore opening. Cannabinoid receptor 1 antagonists abolished the improvement in mitochondrial function and the neuroprotective effects induced by IPC. Conclusions Our results indicate that IPC elicits brain ischaemic tolerance and mitochondrial protection by activating the CB1R, which provides a new mechanism for IPC-induced neuroprotection against cerebral ischaemia.

Abstract
目的 探讨抗CD19 CAR-T细胞治疗难治复发B细胞肿瘤的疗效和不良反应。 方法 2015年12月至2017年7月北京大学第三医院血液科收治的10例患者,包括难治复发的急性B淋巴细胞白血病(B-ALL)6例,难治复发的B细胞非霍奇金淋巴瘤(NHL)4例,采用抗CD19 CAR-T细胞治疗后观察治疗效果及不良反应。 结果 输注后第28天进行近期疗效评估,其中6例ALL患者4例(66.7%)完全缓解(CR),1例(16.7%)部分缓解(PR);总反应率(ORR)为83.3%。3例弥漫大B细胞淋巴瘤(DLBCL)患者1例达CR。1例套细胞淋巴瘤(MCL)患者大部分病灶消失,亦有顽固病灶呈进展状态。10例患者均发生细胞因子释放综合征(CRS),主要表现为发热;其中1例患者出现中枢神经系统症状,1例患者出现多脏器功能衰竭,经治疗不良反应均治愈。 结论 抗CD19 CAR-T细胞治疗难治复发B细胞血液系统肿瘤有效,不良反应可控。

Abstract
目的 探讨miR-223在套细胞淋巴瘤(MCL)患者中的表达及预后意义,并探讨可能的作用机制。 方法 以21例骨髓受累初治MCL患者为研究对象,以20例健康正常供者为正常对照,采用RQ-PCR法检测miR-223、SOX11 mRNA表达水平。构建过表达miR-223的MCL细胞系Granta519细胞,采用CCK8法和流式细胞术检测其增殖、周期和凋亡水平,采用Western blot法检测其SOX11蛋白表达水平,并利用双荧光素酶报告基因实验验证miR-223的靶基因。 结果 ①21例MCL患者中,男15例,女6例,中位年龄58(37~72)岁,其中17例为中高危组。与正常对照组比较,MCL组患者miR-223表达水平显著下调(1 244.1±1 935.2对14.7±10.5,P<0.001),且其低表达与MCL的IPI评分高危组(P=0.001)、LDH升高(P=0.001)、ECOG评分≥2分(P=0.035)等高危临床特征相关。②以患者组miR-223中位表达水平为阈值,将患者分为高表达组(10例)和低表达组(11例),生存分析结果显示前者的总生存时间较后者延长(36个月对12个月,P=0.021)。③体外实验结果显示,与对照组比较,过表达miR-223的Granta519细胞增殖受抑(96 h时最明显,P<0.001)、处于G2/M期的细胞明显减少(P<0.001)、细胞凋亡比例增加(P<0.001);Granta519细胞的SOX11蛋白表达水平较对照组明显降低。④miR-223可抑制SOX11的3′非翻译区;MCL患者的miR-223与SOX11 mRNA表达水平呈明显负相关(r=−0.81,P<0.001)。 结论 miR-223在MCL患者中低表达,且与不良预后相关,机制上可能通过靶向SOX11而发挥作用。

Abstract
Background Infantile nystagmus (IN) is an oculomotor disorder that is characterized by conjugate involuntary, rapid and repetitive movement of the eyes. To date, the pathogenesis of IN remains unclear. Many patients show an X-linked inheritance pattern. In this study, we explored the mutation in the FERM domain-containing 7 (FRMD7) gene in a Chinese family with X-linked infantile nystagmus. Methods We conducted comprehensive ocular examinations and collected 5 ml of blood samples from members of a family with X-linked IN and 100 normal controls. Mutations in FRMD7 were identified by sequencing PCR products. Results We found a 7-bp deletion(c.823-829delACCCTAC) in the 9th exon of FRMD7 in a Chinese family with IN, which predicted a truncation of the protein. Conclusions This study reported a novel mutation of the FRMD7 gene occurred in a Chinese family with IN, thus expanding the spectrum of FRMD7 mutations causing IN, and further confirming that the mutations of FRMD7 are the underlying molecular cause of IN.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the risk factors of secondary post-tonsillectomy hemorrhage (PTH) in children, and to provide a theoretical basis for reducing complications after tonsillectomy. Method: A retrospective analysis of 354 children underwent tonsillectomy was performed, among which 42 secondary hemorrhage cases were divided into bleeding group, and other 312 cases were divided into non-bleeding group. To analyze the risk factors of secondary PTH and to discusses the pathogenesis of the hemorrhage, statistical analysis was conducted among eight clinical data including gender, age, reason of surgery, degree of tonsil embedding, surgery approach, surgeon' s skill level, intra-operative hemorrhagic volume, and postoperative absence of upper respiratory tract infection. Result: Univariant analysis showed that there was no statistical difference of gender, reason for operation, surgeon' s skill level, intra-operative hemorrhagic volume and postoperative upper respiratory tract infection different between bleeding group and non-bleeding group, while there was significant statistical difference of age, degree of tonsillar embedding, and surgery approach. Further multivariate logistic regression analysis of the three relevant factors showed that there was a significant correlation between the degree of tonsillar embedding and the surgery approach and the hemorrhage. Conclusion: Hemorrhage after tonsillectomy is a common and potentially fatal complication, with risk factors of the degree of tonsillar embedding, and the surgery approach. .

Abstract
During insect larval-pupal metamorphosis, the obsolete larval organs and tissues undergo histolysis and programmed cell death to recycle cellular materials. It has been demonstrated that some cathepsins are essential for histolysis in larval tissues, but the process of tissue destruction is not well documented. Fat body, the homologous organ to mammalian liver and adipose tissue, goes through a distinct destruction process during larval-pupal transition. Herein, we found that most of the Bombyx proteases - including Bombyx cathepsin B (BmCatB) (BmCatLL-2), Bombyx cathepsin D (BmCatD), Bombyx cathepsin L like-1 (BmCatLL-1) and -2(BmCatLL-2), Bombyx fibroinase (BmBcp), Bombyx matrix metalloprotease (BmMmp), Bombyx A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs 1 (BmAdamTS-1), Bombyx A disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs like (BmAdamTS L) and Bombyx cysteine protease inhibitor (Bmbcpi)- were expressed highly in fat body during feeding and metamorphosis, with a peak occurring during the nonfeeding moulting or prepupal stage, as well as being responsive to 20-hydroxyecdysone (20E). The aforementioned protease genes expression was upregulated by injection of 20E into the feeding larvae, while blocking 20E signalling transduction led to downregulation. Western blotting and immunofluorescent staining of BmCatB and BmBcp confirmed the coincident variation of their messenger RNA (mRNA) and protein level during the development and after the treatments. Moreover, BmCatB, BmBcp, BmMmp and BmAdamTS-1 RNA interference all led to blockage of larval fat body destruction. Taken together, we conclude that 20E regulates larval fat body destruction by upregulating related protease gene expression and protein levels during larval-pupal transition.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the relationship between endometrial thickness and clinical pregnancy outcomes in frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles. Methods: A prospective study was performed for 1 475 frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles at Peking University People's Hospital from January 2014 to December 2015. The patients were divided into different groups according to endometrial thickness of ovulation day in natural menstrual cycles or endometrial transformation day in hormone replacement cycles;patients with thin endometrium were enndometrial thickness ≤6 mm. Then the clinical pregnancy outcomes including clinical pregnancy rate, embryo implantation rate, abortion rate, multiple birth rate and live birth rate were analyzed. Results: In all, 1 475 frozen-thawed embryo transfer cycles were analyzed. The mean age of patients was (32.5±3.9) years old and mean endometrial thickness was (9.2±1.9) mm, and mean number of embryos was 2.03±0.37. The study included 518 (35.1%) natural menstrual cycles and 957 (64.9%) hormone replacement cycles. The number of embryo-transfer cycles and blastocyst-transfer cycles were respectively 700 (47.5%) and 775 (52.5%) . The overall clinical pregnancy rate, embryo implantation rate, abortion rate, multiple birth rate and live birth rate were 54.4%, 35.7%, 23.3%, 24.1%, 43.9%, respectively. The ectopic pregnancy rate in the study was 0.6%. In patients with thin endometrium,there were significant differences in 2 pronucleus count (P=0.016) and available embryo count (P=0.024) between cycles that resulted in pregnancy and those that did not;besides, the use of sildenafil and growth hormone did not improve pregnancy outcomes in patients with thin endometrium (P=0.183, P=0.400) . The clinical pregnancy rate, embryo implantation rate and live birth rate of embryo-transfer and blastocyst-transfer were similar in patients with thin endometrium (all P>0.05) . Conclusions: Patients with thin endometrium have poor pregnancy outcomes. The clinical pregnancy rate, embryo implantation rate and live birth rate of embryo-transfer and blastocyst-transfer are similar in patients with thin endometrium. Compared thin endometrium and non-thin endometrium patients, the clinical pregnancy rate and live birth rate of blastocysts have more substantial decline than those of embryos. Improving the quality of embryo could improve the pregnancy outcome of patients with thin endometrium. Sildenafil and growth hormone could not improve pregnancy outcome in patients with thin endometrium.
