Abstract
A study of resonant structures in B^{+}→D^{*+}D^{-}K^{+} and B^{+}→D^{*-}D^{+}K^{+} decays is performed, using proton-proton collision data at center-of-mass energies of sqrt[s]=7, 8, and 13 TeV recorded by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}. A simultaneous amplitude fit is performed to the two channels with contributions from resonances decaying to D^{*-}D^{+} and D^{*+}D^{-} states linked by C parity. This procedure allows the C parities of resonances in the D^{*±}D^{∓} mass spectra to be determined. Four charmonium or charmoniumlike states are observed decaying into D^{*±}D^{∓}: η_{c}(3945), h_{c}(4000), χ_{c1}(4010), and h_{c}(4300), with quantum numbers J^{PC} equal to 0^{-+}, 1^{+-}, 1^{++}, and 1^{+-}, respectively. At least three of these states have not been observed previously. In addition, the existence of the T_{c[over ¯]s[over ¯]0}^{*}(2870)^{0} and T_{c[over ¯]s[over ¯]1}^{*}(2900)^{0} resonances in the D^{-}K^{+} mass spectrum, already observed in the B^{+}→D^{+}D^{-}K^{+} decay, is confirmed in a different production channel.

Abstract
Influenza A virus (IAV) induces acute respiratory infections in birds and various mammals, including humans, and presents a significant global public health concern, with considerable economic consequences. Recently, researchers have shown keen interest in noncanonical small noncoding RNAs (sncRNAs) as carriers of epigenetic information, including tRNA-derived small RNAs (tsRNAs), rRNA-derived small RNA (rsRNAs), and Y RNA-derived small RNAs (ysRNAs). Particularly, tsRNAs and rsRNAs are detected in diverse species and demonstrate evolutionary conservation. We analyzed sncRNAs sequencing data in the pulmonary tissue of two genetically distinct mouse strains, C57BL/6J and DBA/2J, to explore strain-specific variations of sncRNAs in response to IAV infection. We systematically compiled information on noncanonical sncRNAs in these two strains and investigated the tsRNAs/rsRNAs/ysRNAs profiles influenced by IAV infection. Specifically, four noncanonical sncRNA families, including rsRNA-12S, GtsRNA-Arg-CCT, GtsRNA-Arg-TCT, and GtsRNA-Lys-TTT, exhibited upregulation upon IAV infection. Notably, DBA/2J mice showed earlier systemic differential expression of noncanonical sncRNAs after IAV infection compared to C57BL/6J mice. Additionally, our study revealed a strain-specific biogenesis of MtsRNAs in response to IAV infection. Also, distinct co-expression patterns of MtsRNAs were observed between C57BL/6J and DBA/2J mice, with DBA/2J mice showing broader positive co-expression of MtsRNAs with various sncRNA families compared to C57BL/6J mice. Our study provides a novel insight into noncanonical sncRNAs and their implications in IAV pathology and mouse strain specificity.

Abstract
Small molecular RNAs, including microRNA (miRNA) and small interfering RNA (siRNA), participate in the regulation of gene expression. As powerful regulators, miRNAs, take part in posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression and play important roles in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Meanwhile, siRNA can induce sequence-specific gene silencing, thus being able to inhibit tumorigenesis by suppressing the expression of their targeted proto-oncogenes. Small RNAs (including naked miRNAs and siRNAs) are easily degraded by circulating RNAase, which can be retarded through the package of nanoparticles. Therefore, nanoparticles help tumor therapy by regulating targeted genes of small RNAs. Here, we reviewed the effects of small RNAs on gene expression; the advantages, disadvantages, and targeted modification of nanoparticles as carriers transporting small RNAs; and the application of nanocarriers delivering small RNA for cancer-targeted therapy.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Brain aging can promote neuronal damage, contributing to aging-related diseases like memory dysfunction. Buyang Huanwu Decoction (BYHWD), a traditional Chinese medicine formula known for tonifying qi and activating blood circulation, shows neuroprotective properties. Despite this, the specific mechanism by which BYHWD improves age-associated memory impairment (AAMI) has not been explored in existing literature. AIM OF THE STUDY This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of BYHWD in the improvement of AAMI based on the "co-occurrence network regulation of intestinal microecology-host metabolism-immune function". MATERIALS AND METHODS Firstly, D-galactose was performed to induce a rat model of AAMI. Learning and memory deficits was assessed by the Morris water maze test. H&E and Nissl staining were used to observe the pathological changes in neurons in the hippocampus of rats. Meanwhile, the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines and the activation of antioxidant enzymes in rat serum were measured using ELISA. Finally, an integrated pharmacological approach was applied to explore the potential mechanism of BYHWD in improving AAMI. RESULTS Our results indicated that BYHWD significantly mitigated the pathological structure of the hippocampus, reversed the levels of IL-6, TNF-α, GSH, and CAT in the serum, and improved learning and memory in aging rats. Transcriptomics combined with network pharmacology showed that energy metabolism and the inflammatory response were the key biological pathways for BYHWD to ameliorate AAMI. Integrative analysis of the microbiome and metabolomics revealed that BYHWD has the potential to restore the balance of abundance between probiotics and harmful bacteria, and ameliorate the reprogramming of energy metabolism caused by aging in the brain. The co-occurrence network analysis demonstrated that a strong correlation between the treatment of AAMI and the stability of intestinal microecology, host metabolism, and immune network. CONCLUSION The findings of this study collectively support the notion that BYHWD has a superior therapeutic effect in an AAMI rat model. The mechanism involves regulating the "intestinal microecology-metabolism-immune function co-occurrence network" system to restore the composition of gut microbiota and metabolites. This further improves the metabolic phenotype of brain tissue and maintains the homeostasis of central nervous system's immunity, leading to an improvement in AAMI. Consequently, this study offers a unique perspective on the prevention and treatment of AAMI. And, BYHWD is also considered to be a promising preclinical treatment for improving AAMI.

Abstract
The Mongolian sheep, emblematic of the Inner Mongolian grasslands, is renowned for its exceptional stress resistance and adaptability to harsh environments, drawing considerable attention. Recent research has unveiled the novel role of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in combating oxidative stress. This investigation examined how GABA impacts renal-cortex and medulla cells from Mongolian sheep exposed to high-glucose stress conditions, utilizing gene expression analysis and non-targeted metabolomics. Elevated glucose levels significantly reduced the viability of Mongolian sheep renal cells and increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels. Conversely, the introduction of GABA notably enhanced cell viability, reduced ROS production, and stimulated the expression of antioxidant genes (e.g., Gpx, SOD, CAT) in the renal cortex. In the renal medulla, CAT expression increased, while Gpx gene expression showed mixed responses. Metabolomics analysis indicated that high-glucose exposure altered various metabolites, whereas GABA alleviated the metabolic stress induced by high glucose through modulating glycolysis and the tricarboxylic acid cycle. In Mongolian sheep renal cells, GABA effectively mitigated oxidative damage triggered by high-glucose stress by upregulating antioxidant genes and regulating metabolic pathways, revealing insights into its potential mechanism for adapting to extreme environments. This finding offers a fresh perspective on understanding the stress resilience of Mongolian sheep and may provide valuable insights for research across diverse disciplines.

Abstract
The current existing classifiers for distinguishing malignant from benign pulmonary nodules is limited by effectiveness or clinical practicality. In our study, we aimed to develop and validate a gene classifier for lung cancer diagnosis. To identify the genes involved in this process, we used the weighted gene co-expression network analysis to analyze gene expression datasets from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). We identified the three most relevant modules associated with malignant nodules and performed functional enrichment analysis on them. The results indicated significant involvement in metabolic, immune-related, cell cycle, and viral-related processes. All three modules showed enrichment in metabolic reprogramming pathways. Based on these genes, we intersected genes from the three modules with metabolic reprogramming-related genes and further intersected with differentially expressed genes to get 78 genes. After machine learning algorithms and manual selection, we finally got a nine-gene classifier consisting of SEC24D, RPSA, PSME3, PSMD8, PSMB7, NCOA1, MED12, LPCAT1, and AKR1C3. Our developed and validated classifier-based model demonstrated good discrimination, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.763 in the development cohort, 0.744 in the internal validation cohort, and 0.718 in the external validation cohort, and outperformed previous clinical models. Moreover, the addition of nodule size improved the predictive capability of the classifier. We further verify the expression of the gene in the classifier using TCGA lung cancer samples and found eight of the genes showed significant differential expression in lung adenocarcinoma while all nine genes showed significant differential expression in lung squamous carcinoma. Our findings underscore the significance of metabolic reprogramming pathways in patients with malignant pulmonary nodules, and our gene classifier can assist clinicians in differentiating benign from malignant pulmonary nodules in clinical settings.

Abstract
Refractory acute T-lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), which is characterized by a low sensitivity to conventional induction therapy and poor prognosis, poses significant challenges during treatment. This study reported a case of refractory T-ALL patient with mutations in the JAK1, JAK3, and STAT5B genes from Nanjing University's Gulou Hospital. Following an unsuccessful course of standard VDLP regimen chemotherapy, the treatment was modified to include ruxolitinib in combination with venetoclax and azacitidine. Subsequent to this therapy, the patient achieved bone marrow minimal residual disease (MRD) negativity. Notably, pleural effusion and mediastinal mass significantly improved the post-chest cavity infusion of dexamethasone combined with etoposide at the same stage. The patient also underwent allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation upon achieving bone marrow remission and was followed up until January 2024. Ruxolitinib combined with venetoclax and azacytidine has shown promising efficacy and safety in treating refractory T-ALL harboring the JAK1, JAK3, and STAT5B mutations, providing a novel therapeutic approach for such patients.

Abstract
Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) is a common and highly fatal hyperinflammatory syndrome characterized by the aberrant activation of macrophages. To date, there is a lack of targeted therapies for HLH. It is validated that macrophages in HLH efficiently phagocytose anti-CD41-platelets (anti-CD41-PLTs) from immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) patients in previous research. Hence, the pathological mechanisms of ITP are mimicked and anti-CD41-PLTs are utilized to load the macrophage-toxic drug VP16 to construct macrophage-targetable engineered platelets anti-CD41-PLT-VP16, which is a novel targeted therapy against HLH. Both in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate that anti-CD41-PLT-VP16 has excellent targeting and pro-macrophage apoptotic effects. In HLH model mice, anti-CD41-PLT-VP16 prevents hemophagocytosis and inhibits the cytokine storm. Mechanistic studies reveal that anti-CD41-PLT-VP16 increases the cytotoxicity of VP16, facilitating precise intervention in macrophages. Furthermore, it operates as a strategic "besieger" in diminishing hyperinflammation syndrome, which can indirectly prevent the abnormal activation of T cells and NK cells and reduce the Ab-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity effect. The first platelet-based clinical trial is ongoing. The results show that after treatment with anti-CD41-PLT-VP16, HLH patients have a threefold increase in the overall response rate compared to patients receiving conventional chemotherapy. In conclusion, anti-CD41-PLT-VP16 provides a general insight into hyperinflammation syndrome and offers a novel clinical therapeutic strategy for HLH.

Abstract
Emerging studies suggest that various parental exposures affect offspring cardiovascular health, yet the specific mechanisms, particularly the influence of paternal cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors on offspring cardiovascular health, remain elusive. The present study explores how paternal hypercholesterolemia affects offspring atherosclerosis development using the LDL receptor-deficient (LDLR-/-) mouse model. We found that paternal high-cholesterol diet feeding led to significantly increased atherosclerosis in F1 female, but not male, LDLR-/- offspring. Transcriptomic analysis highlighted that paternal hypercholesterolemia stimulated proatherogenic genes, including Ccn1 and Ccn2, in the intima of female offspring. Sperm small noncoding RNAs (sncRNAs), particularly transfer RNA-derived (tRNA-derived) small RNAs (tsRNAs) and rRNA-derived small RNAs (rsRNAs), contribute to the intergenerational transmission of paternally acquired metabolic phenotypes. Using a newly developed PANDORA-Seq method, we identified that high-cholesterol feeding elicited changes in sperm tsRNA/rsRNA profiles that were undetectable by traditional RNA-Seq, and these altered sperm sncRNAs were potentially key factors mediating paternal hypercholesterolemia-elicited atherogenesis in offspring. Interestingly, high-cholesterol feeding altered sncRNA biogenesis-related gene expression in the epididymis but not testis of LDLR-/- sires; this may have led to the modified sperm sncRNA landscape. Our results underscore the sex-specific intergenerational effect of paternal hypercholesterolemia on offspring cardiovascular health and contribute to the understanding of chronic disease etiology originating from parental exposures.

Abstract
Stratification strategies for chemotherapy plus PD-1 inhibitors in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are critically demanded. We performed high-throughput panel-based deep next-generation sequencing and low-pass whole genome sequencing on prospectively collected circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) specimens from 460 patients in the phase 3 CHOICE-01 study at different time points. We identified predictive markers for chemotherapy plus PD-1 inhibitor, including ctDNA status and genomic features such as blood-based tumor mutational burden, intratumor heterogeneity, and chromosomal instability. Furthermore, we established an integrated ctDNA-based stratification strategy, blood-based genomic immune subtypes (bGIS) scheme, to distinguish patients who benefit from the addition of PD-1 inhibitor to first-line chemotherapy. Moreover, we demonstrated potential applications for the dynamic monitoring of ctDNA. Overall, we proposed a potential therapeutic algorithm based on the ctDNA-based stratification strategy, shedding light on the individualized management of immune-chemotherapies for patients with advanced NSCLC.

Abstract
A measurement of time-dependent CP violation in D^{0}→π^{+}π^{-}π^{0} decays using a pp collision data sample collected by the LHCb experiment in 2012 and from 2015 to 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 7.7 fb^{-1}, is presented. The initial flavor of each D^{0} candidate is determined from the charge of the pion produced in the D^{*}(2010)^{+}→D^{0}π^{+} decay. The decay D^{0}→K^{-}π^{+}π^{0} is used as a control channel to validate the measurement procedure. The gradient of the time-dependent CP asymmetry ΔY in D^{0}→π^{+}π^{-}π^{0} decays is measured to be ΔY=(-1.3±6.3±2.4)×10^{-4}, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic, which is compatible with CP conservation.

Abstract
To study the clinical correlation between fasting plasma glucose, lipid metabolism, prostate-specific antigen and prostate volume in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia, and to explore the combined effect as diagnostic indicators. A total of 108 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia treated in Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Third Affiliated Hospital from June 2021 to March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed as the hyperplasia group, and 98 healthy physical examination personnel were selected as the control group during the same period. Compare the differences in levels of fasting plasma glucose (FPG), total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), small and dense low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (sdLDL-C), homocysteine, lipoprotein a (LPa), prostate specific antigen (PSA), and free prostate specific antigen (fPSA) between two groups of patients. Using Pearson analysis method to analyze the correlation between the above indicators and the size of prostate volume in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia; using multiple linear regression to analyze the influencing factors of prostate volume enlargement; draw receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves and analyze the application value of individual and combined detection of HDL, FPG, PSA, and fPSA. The results showed that there were significant differences in HDL, FPG, PSA, and fPSA levels between the control group and the proliferative group(P<0.05). The size of prostate volume is negatively correlated with HDL(r=-0.183, P<0.05) and positively correlated with FPG (r=0.202, P<0.05), PSA(r=0.412, P<0.05), and fPSA(r=0.425, P<0.05). The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that HDL(P=0.000), FPG(P=0.048), PSA(P=0.044), and fPSA (P=0.012) were risk factors for increased volume of benign prostatic hyperplasia; ROC curve analysis shows that the AUC of HDL, FPG, PSA, and fPSA combined detection is 0.823, which is better than individual detection. In conclusion,HDL, FPG, PSA, fPSA has close correlation with hyperplasia of prostate, the joint detection may has better prediction for benign prostatic hyperplasia.

Abstract
The European sweet cherry Prunus avium (L.), a member of the Rosaceae family, is one of the most popular and economically valuable fruits. However, the rapid spread of gummosis and poor management practices have become the major obstacles to their production. To identify pathogenic microorganisms responsible for gummosis disease, we conducted observations comparing the garden of Bailuyuan, which heavily suffered from gummosis disease and horn beetle damage, with the orchard of Mayuhe, which only suffered from gummosis disease, both from Xi'an, Shaanxi, China. Samples were obtained from the healthy tissues and gummosis disease tissues that used the Illumina sequence of 16S rRNA and the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS) to identify bacterial and fungal communities in these samples. An alpha diversity analysis revealed a significantly higher fungal diversity of disease than in healthy tissue in the gummosis period. The results suggested that an imbalance in the fungal genera may be associated with gummosis disease. Species relative analyses showed some bacterial genera (Pelagibacterium, Halomonas, Azospirillum, Aquabacterium and Alistipes) and fungal genera (Penicillium, Alternaria and Rhodotorula) in the diseased tissues of gummosis. Among these, the increased relative abundance of the bacteria genes Halomonas, Pelagibacterium, Chelativorans, Pantoea, Aquabacterium, Alternaria and fungi genes Penicillium, Cystobasidium, Rhodotorula may be associated with gummosis of P. avium. The bacterial genera Methylobacterium, Psychroglaciecola, Aeromonas, Conexibacter and fungal genera Didymella, Aureobasidium, Mycosphaerella, Meyerozyma are probably antagonists of the pathogen of gummosis. These findings are an initial step in the identification of potential candidates for the biological control of the disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Shugan Lidan Xiaoshi Granules (SLXG) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation frequently employed to prevent and treat cholesterol gallstones. SLXG is formulated based on the Chaihu Shugan Formula found in an ancient Chinese medical book, a traditional remedy in China for centuries, and has demonstrated successful treatment of numerous patients with gallbladder stones. PURPOSE This research sought to clarify the therapeutic impact and molecular mechanisms of SLXG and its active components in the treatment of cholesterol gallbladder stones. METHODS The study employed network pharmacology, UPLC-HRMS transcriptome sequencing, animal model experiments, molecular docking, and Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) to explore the molecular mechanisms of SLXG and its relationship with Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCMs) and potential targets. Furthermore, PPI network analysis, along with GO and KEGG enrichment analyses, were performed to explore the potential mechanisms through which SLXG and its active ingredient, naringenin, prevent and treat cholesterol gallstones. The mechanism of action was further elucidated using an animal model for gallbladder stone formation. RESULTS The study employed a network pharmacology and UPLC-HRMS to investigate the active compounds of SLXG for the treatment of cholesterol gallbladder stones, and subsequently constructed a network of therapeutic targets of SLXG. The results from gene enrichment analyses indicated that SLXG targets the metabolic pathway of bile secretion and the cholesterol metabolism pathway in addressing cholesterol gallbladder stones. The molecular docking results confirmed the interaction between the genes enriched in the pathways and the active ingredients in SLXG. Transcriptome sequencing results demonstrated that SLXG exerts its therapeutic effect on gallstones by regulating cholesterol and bile acid synthesis and metabolism. Furthermore, animal model experiments and SPR provided evidence that SLXG and its active ingredient, naringenin, exert therapeutic effects on cholesterol gallbladder stones by targeting the genes HMGCR, SOAT2, and UGT1A1, and influencing substances associated with cholesterol synthesis and metabolism. CONCLUSIONS Using systematic network pharmacology methods combined with in vivo validation experiments, we uncovered the fundamental pharmacological effects and potential mechanisms of SLXG and its active ingredient, naringenin, in the treatment of cholesterol gallstones. This research underscores the valuable role that traditional remedies can play in addressing medical challenges and suggests a promising direction for further exploration of natural treatments for the disease.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The widespread use of agricultural machinery in China has increased the incidence of agricultural machinery-related injuries, posing challenges to on-site medical rescue. This study explores resuscitative endovascular balloon occlusion of the aorta (REBOA) as a life-saving intervention for a patient with severe trauma from agricultural machinery. CASEPRESENTATION This study reviews the emergency medical response for a 70-year-old male who suffered machinery entanglement injuries in an agricultural field in western China. The intervention involved a tiered multidisciplinary medical response, including the implementation of REBOA. CONCLUSION This case demonstrates the successful use of REBOA in the prehospital setting in China. While prehospital REBOA use is rare, it is increasingly reported in both military and civilian contexts in austere environments in different countries. Further research is required to validate the feasibility and efficacy of REBOA as a prehospital resuscitation strategy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The study aimed to explore the internal pathway of the association between activities of daily living and subjective well-being among Chinese older adults using a large and representative sample. BACKGROUND There is still a lack of systematic investigation into the association between activities of daily living and subjective well-being among Chinese older adults. MATERIALS AND METHODS The study included 10 578 participants from the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey. We applied multiple linear regression analysis and Spearman correlation analysis to examine the association between activities of daily living and subjective well-being and PROCESS macro to determine the mediating effect of leisure activities on the relationship between them. RESULTS The mean total score of subjective well-being was 30.5 ± 4.4. The prevalence of basic activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living limitations was 18.0% and 60.8%, respectively. Correlation analysis showed that activities of daily living score were negatively correlated with subjective well-being. Leisure activities were positively correlated with subjective well-being. The effect of instrumental activities of daily living on subjective well-being was partially mediated by leisure activities and leisure activities completely mediated the association between basic activities of daily living and subjective well-being. CONCLUSIONS The effect of instrumental activities of daily living on subjective well-being was partially mediated by leisure activities and leisure activities completely mediated the association between basic activities of daily living and subjective well-being.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The limited understanding of the molecular mechanism for oral submucosal fibrosis (OSF) poses challenges to the development of effective prevention and treatment strategies. The lack of suitable animal models is a major hindrance. Therefore, this study aimed to address this issue by comparing commonly used arecoline-induced water drinking and injection mouse models. MATERIALS AND METHODS The mice were subjected to two protocols: receiving 2 mg/mL arecoline in drinking water and 4 mg/mL arecoline saline solution injections every other day. Tissues were collected at regular 4-week intervals, with a final time point of 20 weeks. Stereo microscopy and histomorphological analysis were performed on live and harvested tissues, respectively. RESULTS During arecoline treatment, collagen deposition and myofibroblast proliferation progressively increased in both models. Changes in the collagen I/III ratio indicated that both models exhibited characteristics of the early and intermediate stages of OSF after 20 weeks of arecoline induction. The water-drinking model also demonstrated multi-organ fibrosis involving the tongue, lungs, and small intestine. CONCLUSION Both the water drinking and injection mouse models effectively induced OSF, but the water-drinking model better mirrored the observed pathogenesis in patients with OSF. These models provide valuable tools for investigating the mechanisms underlying OSF.

Abstract
The Venus flytrap sea anemone Actinoscyphia liui inhabits the nutrient-limited deep ocean in the tropical western Pacific. Compared with most other sea anemones, it has undergone a distinct modification of body shape similar to that of the botanic flytrap. However, the molecular mechanism by which such a peculiar sea anemone adapts to a deep-sea oligotrophic environment is unknown. Here, we report the chromosomal-level genome of A. liui constructed from PacBio and Hi-C data. The assembled genome is 522 Mb in size and exhibits a continuous scaffold N50 of 58.4 Mb. Different from most other sea anemones, which typically possess 14-18 chromosomes per haplotype, A. liui has only 11. The reduced number of chromosomes is associated with chromosome fusion, which likely represents an adaptive strategy to economize energy in oligotrophic deep-sea environments. Comparative analysis with other deep-sea sea anemones revealed adaptive evolution in genes related to cellular autophagy (TMBIM6, SESN1, SCOCB and RPTOR) and mitochondrial energy metabolism (MDH1B and KAD2), which may aid in A. liui coping with severe food scarcity. Meanwhile, the genome has undergone at least two rounds of expansion in gene families associated with fast synaptic transmission, facilitating rapid responses to water currents and prey. Positive selection was detected on putative phosphorylation sites of muscle contraction-related proteins, possibly further improving feeding efficiency. Overall, the present study provides insights into the molecular adaptation to deep-sea oligotrophic environments and sheds light upon potential effects of a novel morphology on the evolution of Cnidaria.

Abstract
Janus structure plays a crucial role in achieving chemically driven nanomotors with exceptional motion performance. However, Janus-structured chemically driven nanomotors with magnetic responsiveness are commonly fabricated by sputtering metal films. In the study, a self-assembly technique is employed to asymmetrically modify the surfaces of magnetic silica (SiO2@Fe3O4) nanoparticles with platinum nanoparticles, resulting in the formation of this kind nanomotors. Compared to platinum film, platinum nanoparticles exhibit a larger surface area and a higher catalytic activity. Hence, the nanomotors demonstrate improved diffusion capabilities at a significantly lower concentration (0.05%) of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Meanwhile, exosomes have gained attention as a potential tool for the efficient delivery of biological therapeutic drugs due to their biocompatibility. However, the clinical applications of exosomes are limited by their restricted tropism. The previously obtained nanomotors are utilized to deliver exosomes, greatly enhancing its targetability. The drug doxorubicin (DOX) is subsequently encapsulated within exosomes, acting as a representative drug model. Under the conditions of H2O2 concentration at the tumor site, the exosomes exhibited a significantly enhanced rate of entry into the breast cancer cells. The utilization of the nanomotors for exosomes presents a novel approach in the development of hybrid chemically and magnetically responsive nanomotors.

Abstract
Variation of dissolved organic matters (DOM) in mainstream anammox process has received limited attention. This study systematically characterized DOM and dissolved organic nitrogen (DON) in a full-scale mainstream anammox wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) using spectroscopy and Fourier transform-ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry. Roles of bacterial community structures related with temperatures on DOM and DON transformations were analyzed. Results indicated that the WWTP removed highly bioavailable, S-containing DOM while producing more unsaturated, aromatic, and N-containing DOM. Higher relative abundances of Proteobacteria and Chloroflexi at low temperature resulted in greater removal rates of proteins, SMP-like and humic acid-like substances. At high temperature, higher relative abundance of Actinobacteriota increased lignin production. Principal component analysis revealed that temperature significantly impacted DOM characteristics compared to DON. These findings are crucial for understanding DOM and DON transformation during mainstream anammox WWTP.

Abstract
Constituents of cigarette smoke are known to be carcinogens. Additionally, there is mounting evidence that the liver is an organ susceptible to tobacco carcinogenicity. Nicotine, the primary constituent of tobacco, plays a role in cancer progression. In our previous study, it was found that nicotine enhances the proliferation of a human normal fetal hepatic (WRL68) cell due to the activation of p53 mutation at Ser249 (p53-RS)/STAT1/CCND1 signaling pathway. Here, we further elucidated the mechanism of regulating this pathway. Firstly, dose-dependent increase of SETDB1 protein level in WRL68 cells upon exposure to nicotine (1.25, 2.5, and 5 μM), significantly enhanced cellular proliferation. In addition, the upregulation of SETDB1 protein was necessary for the nuclear translocation of p53-RS to establish a ternary complex with STAT1 and SETDB1, which facilitated p53-RS di-methylation at K370 (p53-RS/K370me2). After that, the activation of CCND1/PI3K/AKT pathway was initiated when STAT1 stability was enhanced by p53-RS/K370me2, ultimately resulting in cell proliferation. Altogether, the study revealed that the increase in SETDB1 expression could potentially have a significant impact on the activation of CCND1/PI3K/AKT pathway through p53-RS/K370me2, leading to the proliferation of WRL68 cells induced by nicotine, which could contribute to hepatocellular carcinoma for smokers. Besides, the results of this study provided a foundation for the development of anticancer therapies for cancers associated with tobacco use.

Abstract
The formation pathway and mechanism of various pyrazines were investigated during the thermal treatment of the alanine-xylose Amadori compound (Ala-ARP) and exogenous alanine (Ala). 15N-labeled Ala was used to coheated with Ala-ARP to clarify the nitrogen sources and the respective contributions of exogenous Ala and the regenerated Ala released from Ala-ARP to different pyrazine formation. It was found that exogenous Ala exhibited a priority in capturing glyoxal (GO) to form pyrazine during the thermal degradation of ARP. Compared to the Ala-methylglyoxal (MGO) model, a lower activation energy was required for the Ala-GO reaction, where the reaction dynamics of Ala-GO followed a zero-order model. In addition to forming pyrazine, the interaction between existing exogenous Ala and GO would accelerate the thermal degradation of Ala-ARP and retro-aldolization reaction of deoxyxylosones (DXs) to α-dicarbonyls. During this process, the release of regenerated Ala and MGO was promoted. Accordingly, as GO was expended by exogenous Ala during the initial stage of ARP-Ala degradation, the condensation between regenerated Ala and MGO became intensified, leading to the generation of methylpyrazine and 2,5-dimethylpyrazine. As a result, in the thermally treated mixture of Ala-ARP and exogenous Ala, 55% of the formed pyrazine originated from exogenous Ala, while 63% of the formed methylpyrazine and 57% of the formed 2,5-dimethylpyrazine were derived from regenerated Ala (120 °C, 30 min).

Abstract
The development of high-activity photocatalysts is crucial for the current large-scale development of photocatalytic hydrogen applications. Herein, we have developed a strategy to significantly enhance the hydrogen photocatalytic activity of Cu/Pr di-atom co-modified TiO2 architectures by selectively anchoring Cu single atoms on the oxygen vacancies of the TiO2 surface and replacing a trace of Ti atoms in the bulk with rare earth Pr atoms. Calculation results demonstrated that the synergistic effect between Cu single atoms and Pr atoms regulates the electronic structure of Cu/Pr-TiO2, thus promoting the separation of photogenerated carriers and their directional migration to Cu single atoms for the photocatalytic reaction. Furthermore, the d-band center of Cu/Pr-TiO2, which is located at -4.70 eV, optimizes the adsorption and desorption behavior of H*. Compared to TiO2, Pr-TiO2, and Cu/TiO2, Cu/Pr-TiO2 displays the best H* adsorption Gibbs free energy (-0.047 eV). Furthermore, experimental results confirmed that the photogenerated carrier lifetime of Cu/Pr-TiO2 is not only the longest (2.45 ns), but its hydrogen production rate (34.90 mmol g-1 h-1) also significantly surpasses those of Cu/TiO2 (13.39 mmol g-1 h-1) and Pr-TiO2 (0.89 mmol g-1 h-1). These findings open up a novel atomic perspective for the development of optimal hydrogen activity in dual-atom-modified TiO2 photocatalysts.

Abstract
Flexible optoelectronics have fully demonstrated their transformative roles in various fields, but their fabrication and application have been limited by complex processes. Liquid metals (LMs) are promising to be ideal raw materials for making flexible optoelectronics due to their extraordinary fluidity and printability. Herein, we propose a painting-modifying strategy based on solution processability for directly printing out fluorescent flexible optoelectronics from LMs via surface modification. The LMs of eGaIn, which were obtained by the mixing of gallium with indium metal spheres, were used as ink to paint high-finesse patterns on flexible substrates. Through introducing surface modification of LMs, the gallium atom on the surface of the LMs was directly transformed into the composite fluorescent functional layers of GaO(OH) and GaN after being modified with an ammonia aqueous solution. Owing to painting, this strategy is not limited by any curved surfaces, shapes, or facilities and has excellent adaptability. Particularly, the fluorescent layers were obtained through a spontaneous, instantaneous, and solution-processable process that is environmentally friendly, easy to administrate, recyclable, and adjustable. The present finding breaks through the limitations of LMs in making flexible optoelectronics and provides strategies for addressing severe challenges facing existing materials and flexible optoelectronics. This method is expected to be very useful for fabricating flexible lights, transformable displays, intelligent anticounterfeiting devices, skin-inspired optoelectronics, and chameleon-biomimetic soft robots in the coming time.

Abstract
To achieve food security in a contaminated agricultural land, the remediation areas usually need more samples to obtain accurate contamination information and implement appropriate measures. In this study, we propose an optimal encryption sampling design to instead of the detailed survey, which is determined by the variation of heavy metals and the technology capability of remediation, to guide soil sampling for accurately remediation in the potential remediation-effective areas (PRA). The coefficient of screening variation threshold (CSVT), considering spatial variation, technology capacity and acceptable error of sampling, together with the spatial cyclic statistics method of neighbourhood analysis, is introduced to identify and delineate the PRA. Both of the hypothetical analysis and application case studies are conducted to illustrate the advantages and disadvantages of the optimization. The results show that, compared with the detailed survey, the optimal design shows a lower overall accuracy due to its sparsely sampling at the clean area, but it exhibits a similar effect of accurately prediction in boundary delineation and further classification in the PRA in both simulation and application studies. This work provides an effective method for subsequent accurate remediation at the investigation stage and valuable insights into application combination of technology capacity and contaminated agricultural land investigation.
