Abstract
Background:Sarcopenia is the progressive and generalized loss of muscle mass, strength and function especially among elderly population. Inflammation may lead to sarcopenia regardless of age.Objectives:To evaluate the frequency of sarcopenia and related factors in patients with primary Sjogren’s syndrome (SS).Methods:A total of 44 female patients with SS and 44 age matched female healthy controls were included in this cross-sectional study. Sarcopenia was evaluated by hand grip test, skeletal muscle index (SMI) and 6 meters gait speed (GS) test. According to recommendations of European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People (EWGSOP2) 2018, sarcopenia is defined as decrease in results of both hand grip test and SMI, whereas, probable sarcopenia is defined as only decrease in results of hand grip test. Mini Nutritional Assessment Short Form (MNA-SF) was used for evaluating nutritional statement. EULAR SS patient reported index (ESSPRI) and EULAR SS disease activity index (ESSDAI) used for evaluating disease activity. Patient global assessment (PGA) was assessed with visual analogue scale (VAS 0-10 cm). Patients with arthritis in dominant hand and/or ankle joints were excluded from the study.Results:The mean age of participants was 55.3±10.4 years. Eleven patients (25.0%) had probable sarcopenia in SS group and 2 (4.5%) in control group (p=0.007). Compared with healthy controls, SS patients had lower results of hand grip and 6 meters GS tests (p=0.005 and p<0.001, respectively). According to Mini Nutritional Assessment Short Form (MNA-SF), patients with probable sarcopenia had higher risk for malnutrition compared with patients with no sarcopenia (p=0.043). Patients with probable sarcopenia had higher scores of ESSPRI pain domain and patient visual analogue scale for global disease activity compared with patients with no sarcopenia (p=0.044 and p=0.036, respectively) (Table 1). In the current study, it is shown that pain is related with sarcopenia. ESPPRI pain is a sign of continuing chronic inflammation in patients with SS. Malnutrition, which can indirectly related with SS, may also contribute to this process. Excessive pain may lead to decrease daily activities and nutritional status of patients with SS. Evaluating pain and patient’s global disease activity may help physicians to find out patients with increased risk for sarcopenia. Abstract
Background:Psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) are heterogenous diseases with various disease manifestations and phenotypes. Psoriasis has a bimodal age of onset being early (before the age of 40, type 1) and late. The impact of this classification on the PsA features is not well understood.Objectives:To compare the PsA characteristics of patients with early- and late-onset psoriasis in a large, multicenter databaseMethods:PSART-ID (Psoriatic Arthritis-International Database) is a prospective, multicenter web-based registry (www.trials-network.org) of patients with PsA. A detailed data collection was performed including demographics (sex, age, duration of education, smoking status, BMI), skin features (psoriasis onset date, type, initially involved site of skin, nail involvement (ever) and family history) and PsA characteristics (type of articular involvement and presence of axial, dactylitis (ever), enthesitis (ever), family history) and indices for disease activity and function (DAPSA, Leeds enthesitis index, BASDAI, BASFI, patient and physician global assessment, pain, HAQ-DI). We grouped according to the age at psoriasis onset (early onset, psoriasis before the age of 40 (EOPsO); late-onset, psoriasis after the age of 40 (LOPsO)), patient and disease characteristics of the groups were compared (1). Due to the differences among groups, following adjustments weer made: BMI for age, nail involvement for PsO disease duration, axial PsA for PsA disease duration.Results:A total of 1634 (62.8% females; EOPsO, 1108 (67.8%); LOPsO, 526 (32.2%)) patients with PsA was recruited. Rate of over-weight patients was higher in LOPsO group (66.8% vs. 86.8%, p<0.001; adjusted for age - aOR 1.55 (1.11-2.20; % 95 CI)). The EOPsO group had the scalp involvement as the initial site of skin disease more often than the LOPsO group (56.7% vs. 43.0%, p<0.001), whereas extremity involvement was more frequent as the initial finding in the LOPsO group (EOPsO vs. LOPsO 63.8% vs. 74.2%, p<0.001). Nail involvement (ever) was more prominent in EOPsO group, however, the significance was disappeared when adjusted for psoriasis duration. Interaction between gender and both axial disease and psoriatic disease family history were found (axial disease in man; EOPsO vs LOPsO; 38.0% vs. 25.4%; p=0.005; adjusted for PsA duration - aOR 0.56 (0.38-0.84; %95 CI) // psoriatic disease family history in females; EOPsO vs LOPsO; 39.5% vs. 30.1%; p=0.003; OR 0.65 (0.50-0.86; %95 CI)). Duration between PsO and PsA was significantly longer in EOPsO group (148 vs. 24 months, p<0.001). In EOPsO group, more patients had PsO preceeding PsA than LOPsO group (81.8% vs. 60.6%, p<0.001), however, synchronous disease -defined as the diagnosis of PsO and PsA within the same year- was more common in LOPsO group (16.6% vs. 30.3%, p<0.001) (Table 1). As the genetic background is different in early and late-onset psoriasis, this may suggest a different pathogenetic mechanism based on the psoriasis phenotype, also affecting the PsA features. Abstract
Background:Although psoriatic arthritis (PsA) may be seen at any decades, juvenil onset PsA is relatively rare. Moreover, there were no more data about clinical features, treatments, and course in juvenile PsA when they reached to adult age.Objectives:The objective of this study was to assess and compare demographic and clinical features for juvenile onset PsA and adult onset PsA.Methods:PsART-ID is a multicenter, international database, investigating the disease characteristic in real life (1). Briefly, demographic data, PsA subtypes, uveitis, enthesitis, dactylitis, Co-morbidities, disease activity scores (TJC, SJC, VAS-pain, VAS patients and physician global assessments, VAS-fatigue, BASDAI), and functional status (HAQ-DI, BASFI) were recorded. Psoriasis and PsA starting age were noted, as well. Patients were classified as juvenile PsA or juvenile PsO (under 18 years old). Results were compared regarding to juvenile versus adult onset age.Results:Overall, 1644 PsA patients were included to study, 301/1644 (18.3%) patients had juvenile onset psoriasis. Of 39/1644 (2.4%) patients had juvenile onset PsA, as well. As expected, juvenile onset PsA patients were younger, however PsA disease duration were longer than adult onset PsA patients. There were no any difference between demographic and clinical data, except BMI and enthesitis were less frequently at the juvenile onset PsA groups. Abstract
Background:Methotrexate (MTX) is the most common first-line disease-modified anti-rheumatic drugs in psoriatic arthritis (PsA), despite the controversies.Objectives:In this study, we aimed to determine the rate of withdrawal rate of MTX in PsA and reasons for discontinuing.Objectives:In this study, we aimed to determine the rate of withdrawal rate of MTX in PsA and reasons for discontinuing.Methods:A large prospective international multicenter PsA registry was used for this study. Data were collected either at enrolment, based on history, or prospectively if there was a follow up. We analyzed the frequency of MTX usage, discontinuation and the reason for discontinuation. The time on MTX was compared according to the reason of discontinuation (inefficacy vs side effects) using Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analyses to identify risk factors for discontinuation.Results:At the time of analyses, 1670 patients had been recruited to the registry and 1359 PsA patients had used MTX during the course of the disease (81.3%). Within these, 942 (69.3%) were still on MTX at the time of analysis, and 417 (30.7%) patients have discontinued (Table). The most common reasons for withdrawal were side effects (219/417, 52.5%) and ineffectiveness (88/417, 21.1%). Other reasons included pregnancy, remission, self-decision (11.9% for all). For 60 patients (14.3%), the reason could not be identified. In patients who were still on MTX, the median duration of MTX therapy was 31 months (IQR=59) compared to 17 months (IQR=43) in the withdrawal group. The most common side effects were gastrointestinal symptoms (47%) and abnormal liver function tests (25%). There was a significant difference in survival plots (Log-rank p=0.026) with discontinuing due to side effects occurring earlier than inefficacy (Figure 1). In cox regression model, longer disease duration was found as an independent predictor of MTX discontinuation due to all reasons [Hazard Ratio (HR)=1.01, 95% Confidence interval (CI)=1.0-1.02; p=0.003].Conclusion:MTX is frequently used on PsA treatment, despite the controversies in the literature. One third of patients with PsA discontinue MTX, most commonly due to side effects or inefficacy. Patients discontinue MTX earlier in case of having side effects. Abstract
Background Amlodipine, calcium channel blocker (CCB), is used in the management of cardiovascular diseases which causes gingival overgrowth (GO). The growth factors may have a role in the pathogenesis of amlodipine-induced GO. Objectives This pilot study aimed to investigate the growth factors including transforming growth factor-b1 (TGF-b1), platelet-derived growth factor-BB (PDGF-BB), and basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of patients with amlodipine-induced GO and compare with of healthy subjects. Methods GCF samples were collected from 56 sites presenting GO (GO + group) and from 38 sites not presenting GO (GO- group) of 5 patients using amlodipine for more than one year, and from 45 sites (control group) of 5 healthy subjects. The levels of TGF-b1, PDGF-BB, and bFGF were determined by using ELISA kits. Results The mean concentration of TGF-b1 in GCF samples of GO + group (9.50 ± 7.30 ng/ml) was higher than both GO- group (2.07 ± 0.50 ng/ml) and control group (2.74 ± 1.01 ng/ml) (P = 0.014). No significant difference was found among the groups in the GCF levels of PDGF-BB (P = 0.767). bFGF was detected in only 33% of the sites from patients. Conclusion These preliminary results suggest that TGF-b1 may play a crucial role in the pathogenesis of amlodipine-induced GO.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ileus is common after colorectal surgery and is associated with an increased risk of postoperative complications. Identifying features of normal bowel recovery and the appropriateness for hospital discharge is challenging. This study explored the safety of hospital discharge before the return of bowel function. METHODS A prospective, multicentre cohort study was undertaken across an international collaborative network. Adult patients undergoing elective colorectal resection between January and April 2018 were included. The main outcome of interest was readmission to hospital within 30 days of surgery. The impact of discharge timing according to the return of bowel function was explored using multivariable regression analysis. Other outcomes were postoperative complications within 30 days of surgery, measured using the Clavien-Dindo classification system. RESULTS A total of 3288 patients were included in the analysis, of whom 301 (9·2 per cent) were discharged before the return of bowel function. The median duration of hospital stay for patients discharged before and after return of bowel function was 5 (i.q.r. 4-7) and 7 (6-8) days respectively (P < 0·001). There were no significant differences in rates of readmission between these groups (6·6 versus 8·0 per cent; P = 0·499), and this remained the case after multivariable adjustment for baseline differences (odds ratio 0·90, 95 per cent c.i. 0·55 to 1·46; P = 0·659). Rates of postoperative complications were also similar in those discharged before versus after return of bowel function (minor: 34·7 versus 39·5 per cent; major 3·3 versus 3·4 per cent; P = 0·110). CONCLUSION Discharge before return of bowel function after elective colorectal surgery appears to be safe in appropriately selected patients.

Abstract
AIM Cornus mas L is commonly used due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic and anti-oxidant properties. In the study, the effects of C. mas L extract on a solid tumor were examined in the Ehrlich solid tumor model developed in Balb/C type mice. METHODS Ehrlich acid tumor (EAT) cells (1x106 EAT cell) from the stock animal were injected subcutaneously (s.c.) through the nape of the mice. Treatment groups of solid tumor-induced animals received 100 mg/kg and 200 mg/kg of C. mas L extract intraperitoneally (i.p.) for 14 days. RESULTS Tumor volumes and animal weights were found to be statistically significant compared to the control group (p < 0.05). AgNOR staining was performed in tumor tissues. Statistically significant differences were observed between the groups in terms of TAA/NA ratio (p < 0.05). Immunohistochemical and biochemical parameters were also evaluated. An estimation of tumor proliferation of the lung, liver, brain, kidney, testis and tumor antioxidant parameters viz. lipid peroxidation, reduced glutathione (GSH), glutathione S-transferase (GST), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) was made. CONCLUSIONS Our study showed that the anti-tumor effect of C. mas L in assisted tumor development with EAT cells, was mediated by the enhancement of oxidative stress with multiple mechanisms (Tab. 6, Fig. 12, Ref. 38).

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ileus is common after elective colorectal surgery, and is associated with increased adverse events and prolonged hospital stay. The aim was to assess the role of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for reducing ileus after surgery. METHODS A prospective multicentre cohort study was delivered by an international, student- and trainee-led collaborative group. Adult patients undergoing elective colorectal resection between January and April 2018 were included. The primary outcome was time to gastrointestinal recovery, measured using a composite measure of bowel function and tolerance to oral intake. The impact of NSAIDs was explored using Cox regression analyses, including the results of a centre-specific survey of compliance to enhanced recovery principles. Secondary safety outcomes included anastomotic leak rate and acute kidney injury. RESULTS A total of 4164 patients were included, with a median age of 68 (i.q.r. 57-75) years (54·9 per cent men). Some 1153 (27·7 per cent) received NSAIDs on postoperative days 1-3, of whom 1061 (92·0 per cent) received non-selective cyclo-oxygenase inhibitors. After adjustment for baseline differences, the mean time to gastrointestinal recovery did not differ significantly between patients who received NSAIDs and those who did not (4·6 versus 4·8 days; hazard ratio 1·04, 95 per cent c.i. 0·96 to 1·12; P = 0·360). There were no significant differences in anastomotic leak rate (5·4 versus 4·6 per cent; P = 0·349) or acute kidney injury (14·3 versus 13·8 per cent; P = 0·666) between the groups. Significantly fewer patients receiving NSAIDs required strong opioid analgesia (35·3 versus 56·7 per cent; P < 0·001). CONCLUSION NSAIDs did not reduce the time for gastrointestinal recovery after colorectal surgery, but they were safe and associated with reduced postoperative opioid requirement.

Abstract
Synthetic vascular grafts are commonly used in liver transplantation. Thrombosis is a possible complication of using expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (e-PTFE) grafts. Herein, we report on 3 cases of liver recipients who died of intermittent sepsis episodes emerged concurrently with the thrombosis in synthetic vascular grafts and inferior vena cava (IVC) vein. Right lobe liver transplantation from living donors was performed for 3 patients by using e-PTFE grafts between the liver and IVC. Although heparin had been administered, thrombosis was developed in vascular graft and IVC extending to the right atrium; it was developed within 1-4 months of transplantations. All 3 patients suffered from recurrent sepsis episodes (4, 5, and 6 attacks for each patient) by different multidrug-resistant bacterial species. Treatment attempts including thrombolytic and antimicrobial drugs made, and surgical, endoscopic and radiological interventions could not resolve the clinical situation. The patients died of septic complications. We concluded that severe recurrent sepsis attacks may develop in liver transplant recipients when IVC and synthetic vascular graft were thrombosed. Removing the e-PTFE graft may be benefit for the treatment.

Abstract
Background The World Health Organization defines obesity as an abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that can damage health. Aims This study aims to evaluate the prevalence of obesity and risk factors in high school students in Erzurum City Center. Study Design and Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted. The number of students participating in the study was 845, including 47.6% females and 52.4% males. Data collection was done by surveys filled in under supervision. Anthropometric measurements were performed by the researchers. Predictions of the Extended International Obesity Task Force were used for body mass index. Parents' body mass indexes were calculated by self-report and classified according to cut-off points for adults in the world health community. A systematic review of the local literature published between 2004 and 2013 was drafted. Results In girls and boys, the frequency of overweight was 26.9% and 25.7%, respectively, while the frequency of obesity was 12.4% and 9.5%. A logistic regression analysis was performed to reveal significant risk factors for overweight/obesity. Weekly exercise status [odds ratio = 3.0, 95% confidence interval CI (1.2-7.8)] and school transfer % CI = (1.1-7.2) were important independent risk factors for obesity. The local literature showed a 4.3-fold increase in the prevalence of obesity within 10 years. Conclusion The prevalence of obesity and overweight in adolescents requires the implementation of effective programs to fight this epidemic. Health education targeting peers and their parents, peer education, screening of risk groups, and controlling the sale of unhealthy foods can be some interventions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate whether there is any relationship between the clinical parameters and the histopathological features of the gallbladder (GB) specimens obtained from living liver donors (LLDs). METHODS The demographic (age, sex, height, weight, and BMI), clinical (liver graft type, liver graft weight, and GB volume), microbiological (bile culture), and histopathological (width, length, wall thickness, and microscopic properties of the GB specimen) data of 169 LLDs, who underwent living donor hepatectomy between October 2015 and October 2017, were prospectively recorded and retrospectively analyzed. The LLDs were compared with respect to sex (male vs. female) and the histopathological features of the GB (normal structure vs. chronic cholecystitis vs. cholesterolosis/polyps/cholelithiasis). RESULTS There were no significant differences between both sexes with respect to age, graft type, and some features of GB (volume, wall thickness, width, length, and bile culture). On one hand, there were significant differences between both sexes with regard to height (P < 0.001), weight (P < 0.001), BMI (P < 0.001), histopathological findings (P = 0.003), and graft size (P = 0.003). Comparison with regard to GB's histopathological features revealed no significant differences between the three groups with respect to age, weight, and some features of GB (volume, length, width, and bile culture). On the other hand, the three groups were significantly different in terms of sex (P = 0.003), height (P = 0.008), BMI (P = 0.002), and wall thickness (P = 0.044). Bile culture proliferation occurred in none of the patients except for one patient. CONCLUSION This study is the first to assess GB's volume, dimensions, and bile culture in healthy individuals such as LLDs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIMS The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality of various filling techniques in distal canals of mandibular molars instrumented with different single-file nickel-titanium (NiTi) systems. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 150 distal roots of mandibular molar teeth were randomly assigned into three main groups and instrumented by using Reciproc (VDW, Munich, Germany), WaveOne (Dentsply Tulsa, Tulsa, OK, USA), or One Shape (MicroMega, Besancon, France) NiTi file systems. The roots were then treated using one of five filling techniques: (1) Matched-single-cone, (2) cold lateral compaction with matched gutta-percha (GP) cone, (3) Thermafil filling, (4) System B/Obtura II, and (5) lateral compaction with standardized GP cones. The roots were then sectioned at three levels (coronal, middle, and apical). Photographs were acquired under a stereomicroscope, and the percentage of GP-filled areas (PGFAs), percentage of sealer-filled areas (PSFAs), and voids were measured using the ImageJ software. Comparisons between groups were applied using Student's t-test or one-way ANOVA for normally distributed data. The Mann-Whitney U-test or Kruskal-Wallis test was used when variables were not normally distributed. RESULTS Canals filled with the System B/Obtura showed the highest PGFA and lowest PSFA, whereas those filled with matched-single-cone showed the highest PSFA and lowest PGFA (P < 0.05). The cold lateral compaction with matched GP cone group, lateral compaction group, and Thermafil filling group showed no statistically significant differences in PSFA and PGFA (P > 0.05). CONCLUSIONS System B/Obtura technique appears to be the best technique to properly fill root canals, whereas the matched-single-cone technique in oval-shaped distal canals of mandibular molars was inadequate.

Abstract
AIM Hepatic artery thrombosis is one of the major complications affecting patient and graft survival after liver transplantation. In this study, we analyzed the factors affecting the development of early hepatic artery thrombosis (eHAT) and its outcomes in pediatric liver transplantation. METHODS A total of 175 pediatric patients underwent living donor liver transplantation between January 2013 and November 2018. Factors affecting eHAT and its outcomes were examined. RESULTS Nine patients (5.1%) developed eHAT. In multivariate analysis, intraoperative hepatic artery revision and Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy biliary reconstruction type were statistically significant (all, P < .05). Thrombectomy and reanastomosis was performed in 5 patients. Two of them were successful. In total, 3 retransplantations were performed and all of those patients are still alive. CONCLUSION The factors affecting eHAT are still a matter of debate. Intraoperative hepatic artery anastomosis revision and Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy reconstruction were independent risk factors for development of eHAT. In the present study, the confidence interval of the variables is high, therefore exact determination of the risk factors may not be possible. Early detection and thrombectomy and reanastomosis may be the first treatment of choice to rescue the patient and graft. When it fails, retransplantation must be an alternative. The results of the present study state that at least once a day the vascular anastomosis must be examined by Doppler ultrasonography in the post-transplant first week. It must be repeated when liver enzymes increase. The patients under high risk for eHAT may be followed up closer.

Abstract
AIM The aim of this study was to compare the antimicrobial efficacy of calcium hypochlorite (Ca(OCl)2) and sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) associated with or without erbium, chromium: yttrium, scandium, gallium, garnet (Er,Cr: YSGG) laser irradiation in root canals experimentally infected with Enterococcus faecalis. MATERIALS AND METHODS The root canals of 105 single-rooted premolars were enlarged up to file 40, autoclaved, inoculated with E. faecalis, and incubated for 21 days. The teeth were randomly divided into seven experimental (n = 15) groups according to the protocol for decontamination: syringe irrigation (SI) with distilled water (DW), SI with 2.5% NaOCl, SI with 2.5% Ca (OCl)2, laser-activated irrigation (LAI) with DW, LAI with 2.5% NaOCl and LAI with 2.5% Ca (OCl)2 and LAI with no solution. Microbiological samples were collected and the colony-forming units were counted before and after irrigation procedures and the percentages of reduction were calculated. RESULTS Mean numbers of recovered bacteria in the SI with DW group were significantly higher than those in the other experimental groups (P < 0.05). The high bactericidal reduction was observed in any of the other treatment groups: SI using NaOCl or Ca (OCl)2 and LAI with DW, NaOCl, Ca (OCl)2 or no solution, with no statistically significant difference. CONCLUSION Er,Cr: YSGG laser with or without an irrirgation solution has antimicrobial effects on dentinal tubules infected with E. faecalis. The antimicrobial property of 2.5% Ca (OCl)2 was effective as 2.5% NaOCl on E. faecalis with conventional or laser activated irrigation in root canals.

Abstract
AIMS Antibiotics and several other chemicals have been used to prevent fish diseases. However, this situation results in economic loss for the companies in the aquaculture industry and most importantly it pollutes the environment. Cinnamic acid is a naturally occurring aromatic acid and is considered to be safe for human consumption. Therefore, in this study, the antibacterial activity of trans-cinnamic acid and commonly used antibiotics, namely chloramphenicol, vancomycin, streptomycin and erythromycin, were tested against 32 bacteria, including fish pathogens, nonpathogenic isolates and collection strains. METHODS AND RESULTS Trans-cinnamic acid was applied against the bacteria using the disc diffusion and microdilution method under in vitro conditions. Antibiotics were also tested under similar conditions against all tested bacteria using the disc diffusion method. The results show that among 32 bacterial strains trans-cinnamic acid exhibited potent inhibitory effect on the Gram-negative fish pathogen Aeromonas sobria. In addition, a moderate inhibition of trans-cinnamic acid of fish pathogens Aeromonas salmonicida, Vibrio (Listonella) anguillarum, Vibrio crassostreae and Yersinia ruckeri was also observed for trans-cinnamic acid in our study. On the contrary, the majority of nonpathogenic intestinal isolates were resistant to trans-cinnamic acid. CONCLUSIONS To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report on the antimicrobial activity of trans-cinnamic acid on 24 of the studied bacteria isolated from fish. In conclusion, trans-cinnamic acid can be used as an environmentally friendly alternative additive to prevent and control primarily A. sobria, as well as other pathogenic bacteria such as A. salmonicida, V. anguillarum, V. crassostreae and Y. ruckeri. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY This study indicated that trans-cinnamic acid may present an environmentally friendly alternative therapeutic agent against A. sobria infections in the aquaculture industry.

Abstract
Introduction Mushroom intoxication (MT) can lead to acute liver injury which may result in Mushroom intoxication-related liver failure (M-ALF) requiring liver transplantation (LT). In the present study, we want to share the experience of our institute regarding living-donor LT (LDLT) due to mushroom poisoning. Aim The aim of this study is to identify the predictors of poor prognosis in patients with ALF secondary to mushroom intoxication requiring LDLT. Materials and Methods All patients with MT between 2008 and 2016 were evaluated. Demographics, symptoms, interval between symptoms and admission to our institute, laboratory data, model for end-stage liver disease (MELD)/pediatric end-stage liver disease (PELD) scores, clinical course, and outcomes of supportive therapy and LT were evaluated. There were two groups in the study: Group A = responsive to supportive therapy (n = 9) versus Group B = unresponsive to supportive therapy (n = 9). Results During the study, a total of 18 patients were admitted with M-ALF. Twelve (66.7%) of them were female, and the mean age was 39.9 ± 18.2 years. All of the nine patients in Group A fully recovered with supportive therapy. In Group B, one patient died during waiting period for LT and 8 patients received LDLT LDLT. Three of the eight patients who were transplanted died in the postoperative early period within postoperative 5 days. The patients in Group B had significantly higher MELD/PELD scores and encephalopathy rate than in Group A (P < 0.05). International normalized ratio (INR), bilirubin, ammonium levels, and platelet count were significantly different between groups (P < 0.05). The patients in Group B had significantly longer interval before admission to our institute (P < 0.05). Conclusion The presence of encephalopathy, higher MELD/PELD, INR, bilirubin, ammonium levels, and lower platelet count was related to poor prognosis in MT. LDLT provides a good therapeutic option in patients with M-ALF. The time is a crucial factor in successful treatment of MT. Early admission to a tertiary referral center with expertise in LT results in a better prognosis and increased survival following M-ALF.

Abstract
AIMS Conservative treatment of jaw cysts establishes low surgical complication risk and protects vital anatomical structures such as inferior alveolar nerve, maxillary sinus and permanent tooth germs. Marsupialization and decompression have been widely used in children. The aim of this study was to evaluate the results of the conservative treatment of jaw cysts in five children. MATERIALS AND METHODS This article presents case series of marsupialization in jaw cysts associated with impacted teeth in five children. A total of nine impacted teeth within the cystic lesions were observed. RESULTS Complete resolution of all cystic lesions and simultaneous eruption of six impacted teeth within the cyst were managed. The other two teeth were erupted orthodontically and one had to be extracted. CONCLUSIONS Marsupialization is effective for the treatment of cystic lesions in growing patients as it preserves vital anatomical structures and enables eruption of the impacted teeth within the cyst.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND AIM Biliary complications are an important cause of mortality and morbidity after living donor liver transplantation (LDLT). We present our endoscopic treatment results after LDLT as a single center with high volume. METHODS Patients who underwent endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) after LDLT between 2005 and 2015 were included. Clinical data included patient demographics, ERCP indications (stricture or leak), and treatment outcomes, including need for percutaneous and surgical interventions. RESULTS ERCP was performed in 446 (39.2%) patients with duct-to-duct anastomosis of 1136 LDLT patients. The most common biliary complication was stricture ± stone (70.6%, 315/446). Stricture and leak occurred in 60 (13.4%) patients. Only biliary leak was found in 40 (8.9%) patients. Our endoscopic treatment success rate in patients with biliary stricture after LDLT was 65.1%. Overall endoscopic success rates in our patients were 55.0% in patients with both leak and stricture, and only leak. In all, our percutaneous transhepatic biliary interventions (PTBI) and ERCP success rate was 90.6% in patients with biliary complications after LDLT. CONCLUSIONS Endoscopic treatments are highly effective for biliary complications after LDLT. Effective use of percutaneous interventions in collaboration with endoscopic treatments significantly reduces the need for surgical treatment.
