Abstract
Acute myocardial infarction occurred in a 26-year-old woman with normal coronary arteriogram and primary thrombocythemia (500,000 approximately 1,500,000/mm3). Hyperaggregability of platelets was also demonstrated by stimulation with adenosine diphosphate, collagen, and epinephrine administration. A stillbirth at the 8th month of gestation in her past history was referred to the complication of primary thrombocythemia, too. Since discharge, the patient has been on 750 mg of aspirin and then free of any thromboembolic symptoms and signs, even during pregnancy and labour.

Abstract
We have studied the chromosomal sensitivity to N-methyl-N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine (MNNG) of human diploid skin fibroblasts derived from individuals with adenomatosis coli (AC), which is a dominantly inherited disorder associated with multiple adenomas of the colon and rectum. Spontaneous frequencies of chromosome aberrations in the cell strains from the AC patients were similar to those in the control cells from normal individuals. However, the AC cells exhibited elevated chromosome instabilities when cells were expected to MNNG, with aberration frequencies approximately twice as high as in similarly treated control cells. The present results, together with findings by others, suggest that the AC cells are defective in a function which regulates cellular condition and are in a state more susceptible to the action of agents that react with chromosomal DNA. These findings also raise the possibility of developing a diagnostic procedure for early detection of abnormal gene carriers of AC.

Abstract
Vascular casts were made by injection of low-viscosity plastic in eight Wistar-Kyoto rats, and the posterior half of the ocular wall was observed using the semiultrathin section method. Veins which connect with the capillaries of the posterior choroid include a venous system independent of the cortex vein and running parallel to the long and short posterior ciliary arteries. The veins flow into a venous ring which is located in the region at which the arterial circle of Zinn is said to be. There was no structure in this region which could be described as an arterial circle. From the above findings, it is concluded that these venous systems are part of the posterior ciliary vein and that they play an important role as a pathway for irrigation of blood from the posterior choroid.

Abstract
Labeled antibodies with different F/P molar ratios of FITC to protein (F/P molar ratio) were used for the detection of surface immunoglobulin (S-Ig) of human and mouse lymphocytes by membrane immunofluorescence, and the following results were obtained. 1. The percentage of S-Ig bearing cells increased markedly when labeled anti-human H- or L-chains antibodies were used with higher F/P molar ratios. The investigation of frozen kidney sections of mice injected with human immunoglobulin revealed that such an increase of the positive ratio in S-Ig was caused by increased non-specific adsorption of the fraction of labeled antibody with a high F/P molar ratio. 2. This non-specific adsorption phenomenon was observed at various intensities in materials from different species; materials from mcie showed less non-specific adsorption than those from humans. 3. It was possible to exclude reactivity with an Fc receptor using the top one third of the supernatant of labeled antibody centrifuged at 150,000 for 30 min.

Abstract
For the purpose of elucidating the genetic and environmental interaction in human carcinogenesis, the age distribution of colon cancer in adenomatosis coli (AC) patients in Japan and England were investigated and compated. According to the multiple mutation theory of carcinogenesis, the rate of tumor production is presented by a natural logarithm of the reciprocal of the survival fraction (the proportion on diagnosed colon cancer by age t either among AC patients or total colon cancer cases), and thus is given by a power function of t. The number of hits necessary for colon cancer development in AC patients was estimated to be 4.2 or 4.4 for males and 3.4 or 3.3 for females in Japanese cases, whereas it was 4.7 or 3.9 and 3.6 or 3.2, respectively, in English cases. The estimates are compatible between countries. On the other hand, from the age specific prevalence curve, number of hits in general population was estimated to be 5.0 for both sexes in Japan, which is approximately one hit less than the values for English general population, at least in males. The present results, when taking into account the geographic and/or chronologic variations in colon cancer frequency, suggest that the etiology of colon cancer in younger patients is primarily determined by a genetic predisposition whilst environmental factors are much more influential for the development of colon cancer in older patients.

Abstract
Abnormal ECG changes were found in some patients who were treated glucocorticoid during long term. In experimental animals, chronic administration of glucocorticoid resulted abnormal ST and T changes of ECG, increased duration of action potential and induced electron microscopical changes of mitochondria. No significant changes were found in serum and myocardial potassium content.
