Abstract
Bile acids (BAs) are synthesized in the liver via the oxidation of cholesterol and further metabolized by microbiota in the gut, where they simultaneously impact gut function. In the present study, 10 goats were randomly divided into 2 groups; 1 group was injected with dexamethasone (Dex; 0.2 mg/kg), and the other group was injected with saline as the control (Con) for 21 d. Expression levels of key genes and proteins in the liver and gut mucosa were analyzed and compared to investigate the impact of chronic stress on BA metabolism and related functions in ruminants. The results revealed that Dex decreased plasma total BAs (TBAs) concentration (P < 0.05) but increased TBA concentration in the cecal digesta (P < 0.05). Total cholesterol in the liver decreased moderately in response to Dex. The protein expression of cytochrome P450 family 7 subfamily A member 1 and cytochrome P450 family 27 subfamily A member 1, 2 enzymes that control BA synthesis in the liver, remained unchanged by Dex administration (P > 0.05). The expression of several genes in the cecal mucosa encoding epithelial tight junction proteins, including occludin (P < 0.05), tight junction protein 1 (P < 0.01), and claudin 1 (P < 0.05), increased significantly in response to Dex, and expression of defensin beta 1, which can strengthen the innate immune system, was also upregulated (P < 0.05). In addition, BAs increased the expression of the Solute Carrier family 9 member A 2 (P < 0.01) that encodes a sodium hydrogen exchanger. These results suggest that the Dex-induced disruption of BA homeostasis might be mediated through a liver-independent pathway in goats, and the Dex-induced accumulation of TBAs in the cecal digesta may improve volatile fatty acid transportation and mucosal defense.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analyze the conventional application of using comprehensive hemostatic methods during the perioperative period, and the effect of autologous blood transfusion (ABT) device compared with non-negative pressure drainage on preventing blood loss and allogenic blood transfusion after primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA). METHODS A total of 131 patients (131 knees) with severe knee osteoarthritis who underwent unilateral primary TKA by the same surgeon in Peking University Third Hospital from June 2014 to June 2015 were enrolled in this study. The patients were divided into ABT group (64 patients) and control group (67 patients). ABT devices were used for drainage and blood transfusion in the ABT group while the control group used the non-negative pressure drainage only. The results of the drainage fluid volume, the decrease of hemoglobin, the total blood loss, the hidden blood loss and blood transfusion after TKA were compared between the two groups. RESULTS The drainage fluid volume in ABT group was significantly higher than that in control group [515 mL (80-1 610 mL) vs. 260 mL (40-670 mL), P<0.001]. The autologous blood transfusion in ABT group was 245 mL (60-1 070 mL). There were no significant differences between the two groups in the value of hemoglobin decrease 1 day after surgery (P=0.340) and 3 days after surgery (P=0.524). There were no significant differences in the total blood loss (P=0.101) and the hidden blood loss (P=0.062) between the two groups either. There were 9 patients in the 131 patients who received allogeneic blood transfusion, of whom 5 in the ABT group (5/64, the blood transfusion rate was 7.8%) and 4 in the control group (4/67, the blood transfusion rate was 6.0%), and no significant differences in the blood transfusion rate between the two groups (P=0.943). CONCLUSION With the conventional application of using comprehensive hemostatic methods during perioperative period, the ABT device did not show the effective result of controlling postoperative blood loss and failed to reduce the rate of allogeneic blood transfusion in patients with unilateral primary TKA. However, the ABT device could increase the drainage fluid volume and improve the patient's hospitalization expenses. Therefore, there is no need for routine application of ABT device in unilateral primary TKA.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the expression profile of angiogenic factors associated with proliferative diabetic retinopathy (PDR). METHODS Undiluted vitreous humor samples were obtained from 10 diabetic patients with PDR (10 eyes) and 9 non-diabtic patients (9 eyes). The concentrations of 60 angiogenic factors in the vitreous humor samples were measured by RayBio Angiogenic Cytokine Antibody Array. Some differentially expressed factors were further confirmed in vitreous humor by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RESULTS Compared with the non-diabetic controls, 20 differentially expressed factors with more than 1.50 fold changes were detected in patients with PDR. The median concentration of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), interleukin 6 (IL-6), angiopoietin (ANG)-1, ANG-2, urokinase-type plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR), Follistatin and matrix metalloproteinases 9 (MMP-9) was significantly increased in vitreous samples from PDR compared to controls (P < 0.05). However, (MCP)-1, Angiogenin and Leptin was significantly lower in PDR eyes compared to controls (P < 0.05). In the verification assay using ELISA, ANG-1, ANG-2, IL-6, VEGF, MMP-9, hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) and placenta growth factor (PIGF) concentration were increased in patients with PDR compared to controls (all P-values < 0.05). CONCLUSION This is the first report of a comprehensive multiplex analysis to identify angiogenic factors associated with PDR. These angiogenic factors may contribute to the pathogenesis of PDR and may be targets for therapeutic strategies of PDR.

Abstract
Our aim was to evaluate the accuracy of two midsagittal planes (MSP) to provide a better reference plane for studying the 3-dimensional structural symmetry in patients with skeletal mandibular deviation. Thirty adult patients with facial asymmetry were admitted to the Department of Orthodontics, Hospital of Stomatology, between January 2015 and 2017. The DICOM data were collected and reconstructed using ProPlan CMF® 2.0 (Materialise). Two sets of reference planes were set up. In the orbital margin plane group, the plane crossing the nasion (N) point and perpendicular to the frontozygomatic (FZ) suture line was used as the MSP. In the skull base plane group, the MSP was established using the sella turcica (S), N, and basion (Ba). The distances from the craniofacial skeletal and soft tissue midline landmarks to the two MSP were separately measured, and the significance of differences between measurements corresponding to two reference planes were assessed using the paired t test. Except for the posterior nasal spine (PNS)-MSP, the distances from other soft and hard tissue landmarks to the MSP in the orbital margin plane group were significantly shorter than those in the skull base plane group. In the 3-dimensional measurement analysis, the skeletal and soft tissue anatomical midline landmarks were closer to the MSP in the orbital margin plane group. The MSP crossing point N, perpendicular to the FZ suture line, was more accurate and suitable.

Abstract
The thymus of a myasthenia gravis (MG) patient is often accompanied by and effected with follicular hyperplasia. Inflammatory cytokines in thymus induce the formation of germinal centres (GC). MG thymic inflammatory cytokines are predominantly secreted by stromal cells. Our previous studies revealed that the expression level of the Fra1 protein, which is a Fos member of the activator protein 1 transcription factors (AP-1), was higher in the MG thymus compared with that of the normal thymus. Based on that, we demonstrated that Fra1 was mainly expressed in medulla thymic epithelial cells (mTECs) and that the rate of Fra1 positive mTECs in the MG thymus was higher than normal. In vitro, we found that the expression of CCL-5, CCL-19 and CCL-21 could be regulated by Fra1 in mTEC and that IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8 and ICAM1 were downregulated in the Fra1 overexpression group and upregulated in the Fra1 knock-down group. Meanwhile, we detected that the expression levels of suppressor of cytokine signalling 3 (SOCS3) were significantly upregulated along with the overexpression of Fra1. Hence, we considered that the overexpression of Fra1 disrupted inflammatory cytokine secretion by mTEC in the MG thymus and that STAT3 and SOCS3 were strongly involved in this process.

Experimental study on TGF-β1-mediated CD147 expression in oral submucous fibrosis. Oral Dis 2018; 24:993-1000. Abstract
OBJECTIVE Although previous evidence indicates that CD147 is closely involved in the progression of organ fibrosis and various signaling pathways have been proven to regulate its expression, the role of CD147 in oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) remains largely unknown. METHODS In this study, we investigated the expression of CD147 and transforming growth factor β1 (TGF-β1) in human samples of an OSF tissue array by immunohistopathology. Pearson's correlation analysis was conducted to explore the correlation between CD147 and TGF-β1. Immunofluorescence and Western blotting were used to investigate to levels of CD147 in Human Oral Keratinocytes (HOKs) followed by TGF-β1 or LY2157299, an inhibitor of TGF-β1 receptor and arecoline stimulation. RESULTS We found that CD147 was highly expressed in both HOKs and the fibrotic oral mucosa and that this expression was correlated with TGF-β1 expression. Additionally, CD147 levels were significantly associated with the fibrosis stage. The TGF-β1 signaling pathway was found to be mainly responsible for CD147 up-regulation after arecoline treatment whereas inhibition of TGF-β1 down-regulated CD147 expression. CONCLUSION Our findings suggest arecoline promotes CD147 expression via the TGF-β1 signaling pathway in HOKs, whereas overexpression of CD147 may promote OSF progression.

Abstract
The present study investigates the impact of germinated brown rice (GBR) on atherosclerosis and the underlying mechanism in low-density lipoprotein receptor-knockout (LDLr-KO) mice. The intensity of atherosclerosis in aortas of LDLr-KO mice receiving diet supplemented with 60% GBR (weight/weight) was significantly less than that in mice fed with 60% white rice (WR) or control diet ( p < 0.05); all diets contained 0.06% cholesterol. WR or GBR diet did not significantly alter plasma total or LDL-cholesterol, fecal sterols, or glucose, or the activities of antioxidant enzymes, compared to the control diet. The adhesion of monocytes to aortas from LDLr-KO mice fed with WR diet was significantly more than that from mice receiving the control diet ( p < 0.01). GBR diet decreased monocyte adhesion to aortas compared to WR diet ( p < 0.01). GBR diet also reduced the levels of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1), and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in plasma, and the abundances of MCP-1, PAI-1, TNF-α, intracellular cell adhesion molecule-1, toll-like receptor-4, PAI-1, LDLr-like protein, and urokinase plasminogen activator and its receptor in aortas or hearts from LDLr-KO mice in comparison to the WR diet ( p < 0.05, 0.01, respectively). The findings suggest that GBR administration attenuated atherosclerosis and vascular inflammation in LDLr-KO mice compared to WR. The anti-atherosclerotic effect of GBR in LDLr-KO mice at least in part results from its anti-inflammatory activity.

Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect of systemic and intratympanic dexamethasone combination therapy on sudden deafness.Method:A total of 98 patients randomly divided into three groups: an intravenous corticosteroid (systemic corticosteroid monotherapy group); an intratympanic corticosteroid (IT monotherapy group); and a combination therapy group (IT plus systemic combination group). All patients were treated additionally with ginkgo-damole and mecobalamine and proton pomp inhibitor. An audiometry was performed before and after the therapies in all patients. Result:Of the total of 98 patients, 39 were receiving systemic corticosteroids, 28 received intratympanic(IT) corticosteroids, and 31 were receiving a combination of the two. A total of 65 patients (66.3%) responded positively to corticosteroid therapy. No significant differences were observed between the three groups (systemic group, IT and combination therapy group) in their overall response to treatment (P=0.61). Patients who suffered from concomitant tinnitus and dizziness responded less positively to the treatment (P=0.00). Positive family history of SSNHL seems to be negative prognostic factors in the response to treatment (P=0.02).The response to treatment was not related to the initial severity of hearing loss (P=0.68) and pattern (P=0.28). Conclusion:This study did not find any difference in the rate of hearing improvement between systemic, intratympanic, and combined corticosteroid therapy for sudden hearing loss.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Although flow diverters have been reported with favorable clinical and angiographic outcomes in various literatures, randomized trials determining their true effectiveness and safety are still in lack. The Parent Artery Reconstruction for Large or Giant Cerebral Aneurysms Using the Tubridge Flow Diverter (PARAT) trial was designed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of the Tubridge flow diverter in the treatment of large or giant aneurysms in comparison with Enterprise stent-assisted coiling. MATERIALS AND METHODS This prospective, multicenter, randomized trial was conducted at 12 hospitals throughout China. Enrolled adults with unruptured large/giant intracranial aneurysms were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive either Enterprise stent-assisted coiling or Tubridge flow diverter implantation. The primary end point was complete occlusion at 6-month follow-up, while secondary end points included technical success, mortality, target vessel-related stroke, aneurysm bleeding, in-stent stenosis, parent artery occlusion, and the frequency of all adverse events. RESULTS Among 185 enrolled subjects, 41 withdrew before procedure initiation. Overall, 82 subjects underwent Tubridge implantation, and 62 subjects were primarily treated with stent-assisted coiling. The results of 6-month follow-up imaging included complete occlusion rates of 75.34% versus 24.53% for the Tubridge and stent-assisted coiling groups, respectively, with a calculated common odds ratio of 9.4 (95% confidence interval, 4.14-21.38; P < .001). There was a higher, nonsignificant frequency of complications for Tubridge subjects. Multivariate analysis showed a decreased stroke rate at the primary investigational site, with a marginal P value (P = .051). CONCLUSIONS This trial showed an obviously higher rate of large and giant aneurysm obliteration with the Tubridge FD over Enterprise stent-assisted coiling. However, this higher obliteration rate came at the cost of a nonsignificantly higher rate of complications. Investigational site comparisons suggested that a learning curve for flow-diverter implantation should be recognized and factored into trial designs.

Abstract
The process of burn wounds healing includes the removal of necrotic tissue, the hyperplasia of granulation tissue and epithelialization. The removal of necrotic tissue is the first step in dealing with burn wounds. Although there are a variety of adjuvant drugs for removing necrotic tissue, surgical debridement is still the main way of debridement of burn wounds. Surgical debridement of burn wounds includes escharectomy, tangential excision and dermabrasion. Escharectomy and tangential excision have been widely used in clinical practice, while dermabrasion has not been known to the majority of burns colleagues. This article summarizes the clinical application and progress of dermabrasion in burn wounds.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the role of Sirius combined topography and tomography system in screening for suspect keratoconus among the corneal refractive surgery candidates. Methods: Retrospective case series study. Eight hundred and sixteen consecutive ametropic patients (1 632 eyes) who underwent routine examinations before corneal refractive surgery at Peking University Third Hospital from January 2016 to September 2016 were reviewed. All the cases were analyzed with Sirius combined topography and tomography system. Fifty-nine eyes of 37 patients, aged (28.9±7.4) years, classified as suspect keratoconus by the system were enrolled in the suspect group, including 25 females (40 eyes) and 12 males (19 eyes). A random eye of the first 59 patients, aged (27.1±6.4)years, whose both eyes were classified as normal by Sirius system were enrolled in the control group, including 38 females and 21 males. The corneal anterior surface, posterior surface and minimum thickness data of the suspect group were analyzed and then compared with the control group. The classified results were further verified by Pentacam system. Independent-samples t test and Mann-Whitney U test were applied to analyze the normal distribution and non-normal distribution data respectively. Results: The medians of anterior surface and posterior surface symmetry index and Baiocchi Calossi Versaci index of anterior surface and posterior surface of the suspect group were 0.84, 0.22, 0.58 and 0.51 D, and that of the control group were 0.05, 0.04, 0.09 and 0.06 D, and the differences were of statistical significance (Z=-18.764, -8.351, -12.248, -10.709, P<0.01). Mean corneal minimum thickness data of the suspect group were (504.4±30.0)μm, and that of the control group were (541.2±32.1)μm, the differences were of statistical significance (t=-6.408, P<0.01). In the suspect group, the eyes related with suspect or abnormal corneal anterior indices accounted for 47.5% (28/59), the eyes related with suspect or abnormal corneal posterior indices accounted for 55.9% (33/59), and the eyes related with suspect or abnormal corneal minimum thickness accounted for 40.7% (24/59). In the suspect group, 45 eyes (76.3%) were classified as suspect or abnormal according to the overall variance index "D" by Belin-Ambrósio Display (BAD) of the Pentacam system, and the other 14 eyes exhibited at least one abnormal index related with keratoconus. Conclusions: Sirius 3D combined topography and tomography and its integral automatic classification system is capable to screen out the suspect keratoconus simply and effectively. These indices maybe arranged in descending order in terms of the sensitivity as corneal posterior surface, followed by corneal anterior surface and then corneal thinnest point thickness. Abstract
Sesame (Sesamum indicum L.; Pedaliaceae) is a commercially valuable oilseed crop with high oil content. Its small genome size favours the genomic analysis of key biological processes, such as oil synthesis and metabolism. However, the 13 chromosome pairs of sesame have not been characterised because of technological limitations and their small size. We constructed a BAC library comprising 57,600 BAC clones for sesame. The estimated genome coverage of the sesame BAC library was 13.8×. The successive double colour fluorescence in situ hybridisation (FISH) with bacterial artificial chromosomes (BACs) for sesame was established in this study. Subsequently, the 13 sesame chromosome pairs were individually differentiated using 17 specific BACs for the first time. The schematic of the sesame chromosome set was drawn according to the chromosome relative length and relative position of the BAC signal. The cytogenetic characteristics of sesame chromosomes were also explored. The results provide the technical background required for further cytogenetic map construction, genome assembly and localisation of the DNA sequence in sesame.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To analyse the cases of sudden death due to hyperthyroid heart disease, and explore the general information of deaths and the forensic pathological characteristics to provide reference evidence for forensic identification of such cases. METHODS Six cases of sudden death due to hyperthyroid heart disease between 2001 and 2016 were selected from School of Forensic Medicine, China Medical University. The general information (gender and age), clinical manifestations, medical history, anatomical and histopathological findings, biochemical parameters and cause of death were analysed retrospectively. RESULTS Most of the 6 patients had definite history of hyperthyroidism, and they all showed certain degrees of symptoms of cardiovascular disease; had obvious incentive factors of death; histopathological examination of thyroid conformed to the performances of diffuse toxic goiter; with increase of cardiac weight, dilatation of cardiac chambers, myocardial hypertrophy and focal necrosis; postmortem biochemical analyses of pericardial fluid could be used as an additional method for diagnostic of sudden death due to hyperthyroid heart disease. CONCLUSIONS The identification of death due to hyperthyroid heart disease should be based on the clinical history and the results of autopsy, histopathological examination, postmortem toxicology tests. The postmortem biochemical detection of thyroid and cardiac function should be performed if necessary.

Abstract
Ambient levels of chlorinated gases and aerosol components were measured by online chemical ionization and aerosol mass spectrometers after an indoor floor were repeatedly washed with a commercial bleach solution. Gaseous chlorine (Cl2 , 10's of ppbv) and hypochlorous acid (HOCl, 100's of ppbv) arise after floor washing, along with nitryl chloride (ClNO2 ), dichlorine monoxide (Cl2 O), and chloramines (NHCl2 , NCl3 ). Much higher mixing ratios would prevail in a room with lower and more commonly encountered air exchange rates than that observed in the study (12.7 h-1 ). Coincident with the formation of gas-phase species, particulate chlorine levels also rise. Cl2 , ClNO2 , NHCl2 , and NCl3 exist in the headspace of the bleach solution, whereas HOCl was only observed after floor washing. HOCl decays away 1.4 times faster than the air exchange rate, indicative of uptake onto room surfaces, and consistent with the well-known chlorinating ability of HOCl. Photochemical box modeling captures the temporal profiles of Cl2 and HOCl very well and indicates that the OH, Cl, and ClO gas-phase radical concentrations in the indoor environment could be greatly enhanced (>106 and 105 cm-3 for OH and Cl, respectively) in such washing conditions, dependent on the amount of indoor illumination.

Inhibitory Effects of North American Wild Rice on Monocyte Adhesion and Inflammatory Modulators in Low-Density Lipoprotein Receptor-Knockout Mice. JOURNAL OF AGRICULTURAL AND FOOD CHEMISTRY 2017; 65:9054-9060. Abstract
The present study examined the effects of wild rice on monocyte adhesion, inflammatory and fibrinolytic mediators in low-density lipoprotein receptor-knockout (LDLr-KO) mice. Male LDLr-KO mice received a cholesterol (0.06%, w/w)-supplemented diet with or without white or wild rice (60%, w/w) for 20 weeks. White rice significantly increased monocyte adhesion and abundances of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, tissue necrosis factor-α, intracellular cell adhesion molecule-1, plasminogen activator inhibitor-1, urokinase plasminogen activator (uPA), and uPA receptor in aortae and hearts of LDLr-KO mice compared to the control diet. Wild rice inhibited monocyte adhesion to the aorta, atherosclerosis, and abundances of the inflammatory and fibrinolytic regulators in the cardiovascular tissue of LDLr-KO mice compared to white rice. White or wild rice did not significantly alter the levels of cholesterol, triglycerides, or antioxidant enzymes in plasma. The anti-atherosclerotic effect of wild rice may result from its inhibition on monocyte adhesion and inflammatory modulators in LDLr-KO mice.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the determinants affecting the heart rate deceleration capacity (DC) in patients with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM). Methods: One hundred patients with DCM (DCM group) and 202 healthy subjects (control group) were respectively enrolled. Echocardiography and 24 hours electrocardiogram were performed in all subjects. DC value was compared between the two groups. Multiple regression analysis was made to evaluate the related determinants of DC ((age, sex, echocardiographic parameters including the left atrial diameter (LAD) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF)). Results: (1) DC value was significantly lower in DCM group than in control group( (4.40±2.03) ms vs. (7.30±1.81) ms, P<0.01), prevalence of DC value≤4.5 ms was significantly higher in DCM group than in control group (62% vs. 6%, P<0.01). (2) DC value in the DCM group decreased in proportion to increasing LAD dimension, DC value was (5.60±2.04) ms, (4.50±2.07) ms and (3.60±1.62) ms (P<0.05) in DCM patients with LAD≤40 mm, 40 mm<LAD≤50 mm and LAD>50 mm, respectively. (3) DC value in the DCM group was negatively related to the LAD (r=-0.366, P<0.01), positively related to the LVEF (r= 0.241, P<0.01), but not related with age and sex. Multiple factors regression analysis showed that increased LAD was related to the reduced DC values independtly. Conclusion: DC value of the patients in the DCM group is decreased, which indicate the decrease of the vagus nerve tension, and increased LAD is related to the reduced DC value independtly in DCM patients.

Prediction of fecal nitrogen and phosphorus excretion for Chinese Holstein lactating dairy cows. J Anim Sci 2017; 95:3487-3496. Abstract
Mathematical models for predicting nitrogen and phosphorus excretion play a key role in manure application and environment monitoring. An analysis for prediction of fecal nitrogen (FN, g/d) and fecal phosphorus (FP, g/d) excretion for Chinese Holstein lactating dairy cows was conducted using a data set from 15 dairy farms in northern China. The whole independent-variable data set, obtained with questionnaires, consisted of 110 sets of average diet nutrient compositions, including DMI (kg/d), CP content (% DM), OM intake (OMI, kg/d), nitrogen intake (NI, g/d), and phosphorus intake (PI, g/d), and animal characteristics, including average days in milk (DIM, d), average milk yield (MY, kg/d), and average BW (kg). In addition, 110 fecal samples in total were collected to analyze FN and FP excretions, which were considered dependent variables of prediction equations. Correlations between diet and animal variables were examined, and several variable subpools were derived that were used to develop equations to predict FN and FP excretions by stepwise regression analysis. The results showed that among all variables, OMI was the best predictor for FN excretion (root-mean-square prediction error [RMSPE] = 9.58%, = 0.70), followed by NI (RMSPE = 10.19%, = 0.67). However, when both DMI and CP were used as independent variables, the equation showed more accurate prediction for FN excretion (RMSPE = 8.55%, = 0.77) in comparison with univariate prediction equations. Simultaneously, PI was the best predictor of FP excretion (RMSPE = 10.28%, = 0.67). Evaluation results using 3-fold cross validation and comparison with extant equations indicated that the proposed equations were accurate with low prediction errors, which could be recommended for use to estimate FN and FP excretions from Chinese Holstein lactating dairy cows.

Abstract
Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell immunotherapies have shown unprecedented success in treating leukemia but limited clinical efficacy in solid tumors. Here, we generated 1928zT2 and m28zT2, targeting CD19 and mesothelin, respectively, by introducing the Toll/interleukin-1 receptor domain of Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2) to 1928z and m28z. T cells expressing 1928zT2 or m28zT2 showed improved expansion, persistency and effector function against CD19+ leukemia or mesothelin+ solid tumors respectively in vitro and in vivo. In a patient with relapsed B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a single dose of 5 × 104/kg 1928zT2 T cells resulted in robust expansion and leukemia eradication and led to complete remission. Hence, our results demonstrate that TLR2 signaling can contribute to the efficacy of CAR T cells. Further clinical trials are warranted to establish the safety and efficacy of this approach.

Abstract
Wearing lead X-ray-protective aprons is a routine in nuclear medicine department in parts of China. However, the staff are often perplexed by questions such as if it is imperative to wear aprons when injecting radioactive drugs, how much radiation dosage can be shielded and if the apron will produce secondary radiation instead? To answer these questions, a semiconductor detector was employed to record different gamma and X-ray spectra with and without the lead apron or lead sheet. Then, we could estimate the signal shielding ratio to different photons for the lead apron and compare with the hospitals measured data. In general, the two results coincided well. The spectral results showed that the detrimental secondary X-rays irradiation rises when the energy of gamma rays exceeds the K absorption edge of lead (88 keV). Moreover, the aprons are not so effective for gamma rays of 364 keV emitted from 131I and 511 keV emitted from the positron radioactive nuclides. This work is purely a physical measurement in the laboratory. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first quantitative study on the level of gamma rays protection offered by the medical lead aprons and the importance of the spectroscopic measurements is discussed in this paper.

Abstract
UNLABELLED This meta-analysis synthesized current evidence from 10 trials to evaluate the association between steroid therapy and osteonecrosis incidence in patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). Our results suggest that higher cumulative doses and longer treatment durations of steroids are more likely to lead to the development of osteonecrosis in SARS patients. INTRODUCTION The link between steroid treatment and the risk of osteonecrosis in SARS patients remains unknown. The present meta-analysis aimed to examine the dose-response association between steroid therapy and osteonecrosis incidence in SARS patients. The sex differences in the development of steroid-induced osteonecrosis were also examined. METHODS We searched PubMed, Web of Science, CNKI, and WANFANG for studies that involved steroid therapy and reported osteonecrosis data in SARS patients. Two authors independently extracted the data from the individual studies, and the rate ratio (RR) of osteonecrosis was calculated using random-effect models. RESULTS Ten studies with 1137 recovered SARS patients met the inclusion criteria. Close relationships between osteonecrosis incidence and both the cumulative dose and treatment duration of steroids were observed. The summary RR of osteonecrosis was 1.57 (95% confidence interval (CI) 1.30-1.89, p < 0.001) per 5.0 g increase in the cumulative dose of steroids and was 1.29 (95% CI 1.09-1.53, p = 0.003) for each 10-day increment of increase in treatment duration. The relationship was non-linear (p non-linear < 0.001 and p non-linear = 0.022). There were no significant differences in the risk of developing osteonecrosis between the male and female patients (RR 0.01, 95% CI -0.03 to 0.06, p = 0.582). CONCLUSIONS SARS patients who received higher cumulative doses and longer treatment durations of steroids were more likely to develop osteonecrosis, and there were no sex differences in this dose-dependent side effect. Our findings suggest that it is important to reduce osteonecrosis risk by modifying the cumulative dose and the treatment duration of steroids in SARS patients.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the application of high-frequency ultrasound in dermabrasion of patients with deep partial-thickness burns. Methods: Twenty-six patients with deep partial-thickness burns conforming to the study criteria were hospitalized in our unit from March 2015 to March 2016. Patients were all performed with dermabrasion. The structure of skin tissue and blood flow signals of uninjured side and wounds before dermabrasion, and those of wounds immediately post dermabrasion and on post dermabrasion day (PDD) 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, and 21 were detected with high-frequency ultrasound, and the percentage of blood flow signals was calculated. According to the results of comparison between percentage of blood flow signals of wounds and that of normal skin before dermabrasion, patients were divided into no significant decrease group (NSD, n=19) and significant decrease group (SD, n=7). Wound healing time of patients in two groups was recorded. Data were processed with analysis of variance of repeated measurement, LSD test, t test and Chi-square test. The correlation between the percentage of blood flow signals of wounds before dermabrasion and wound healing time of 26 patients were analyzed by Spearman correlation analysis. Results: (1) Epidermis of normal skin of patients in two groups before dermabrasion showed continuous smooth linear hyperecho, which was stronger than that of dermis, and boundary of dermis and subcutaneous tissue showed stronger discontinuous linear echo than that of dermis, which gradually transited to subcutaneous tissue. In group NSD, epidermis of wound of patients before dermabrasion showed intermittent rough linear echo, which was weaker than that of normal skin epidermis, and there was no obvious abnormity of boundary between dermis and subcutaneous tissue. Immediately post dermabrasion and on PDD 1, no linear hyperecho of epidermis was observed, showing complete attrition of epidermis, and the echo of dermis and subcutaneous tissue had no obvious change as compared with that before dermabrasion, with flat surface of dermis and partly abraded superficial-dermis but relatively well preserved dermal tissue in whole. The epidermis showed discontinuous linear hyperecho, and epidermis was discontinuously regenerated on PDD 3 and 5. Partial continuous linear hyperecho was detected in the epidermis, showing partial continuous regeneration of epidermis on PDD 7 and 10. The regenerated epidermis was thicker than normal skin epidermis and showed rough linear hyperecho with non-uniform thickness on PDD 14. The regenerated epidermis was thicker than normal skin epidermis and showed rather smooth linear hyperecho with uniform thickness on PDD 21. In group SD, the structure of epidermis and dermis of wound of patients before dermabrasion, immediately post dermabrasion, and on PDD 1 was similar to that in group NSD, but the echo of boundary of dermis and subcutaneous tissue was weakened in different degrees. There was no linear hyperecho of epidermis, showing no epidermis was regenerated on PDD 3 and 5. Intermittent regeneration of epidermis appeared on PDD 7 and 10 with intermittent linear hyperecho. Partial continuous linear hyperecho was detected in the epidermis, showing partial continuous regeneration of epidermis on PDD 14 and 21. (2) The percentages of blood flow signals of wounds of patients in group NSD before dermabrasion, immediately post dermabrasion, and on PDD 1 were (3.1±1.3)%, (6.5±2.0)%, and (5.3±1.9)% respectively, higher than those in group SD [(0.9±1.1)%, (3.5±1.3)%, and (3.6±0.9)% respectively, P<0.05 or P<0.01]. The percentages of blood flow signals of wounds of patients in two groups were similar at the other time points (with P values above 0.05). Compared with the percentage of normal skin in the same group [(3.2±0.7)%], the percentages of blood flow signals of wounds of patients in group NSD were significantly increased immediately post dermabrasion and on PDD 1 (with P values below 0.01) but had no significant change at the other time points (with P values above 0.05). The percentage of blood flow signals of wounds of patients before dermabrasion in group SD was significantly lower than that of normal skin in the same group [(2.8±0.6)%, P<0.01]. The percentage of blood flow signals of wounds of patients in group SD was close to that of normal skin in the same group at each time point post dermabrasion (with P values above 0.05). (3) The wound healing time of patients in group NSD was (16.2±2.5) d, lower than that in group SD [(30.9±2.9) d, t=12.67, P<0.01]. There was obvious negative correlation between the percentage of blood flow signals of wounds before dermabrasion and wound healing time of 26 patients (r=-0.77, P<0.01). Conclusions: High-frequency ultrasound is a good way to observe the imaging features of wounds in patients with deep partial-thickness burns before and after dermabrasion, and it can provide objective imaging evidence for the performance of dermabrasion in patients with deep partial-thickness burns.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the changes in protein expression in patients with 1-bromopropane (1-BP) poisoning using high-throughput proteomic technique and to screen out protein markers. Methods: Serum samples were collected from 3 patients with 1-BP poisoning and 15 controls. The label-free proteomic tech-nique was used for the quantitation and identification of proteins expressed in these samples, and the results were compared between the patients with 1-BP poisoning and the control population. The bioinformatics tools were used to analyze the function of differentially expressed proteins. Results: Compared with the control popula-tion, the patients with 1-BP poisoning had >2-fold upregulation of 38 proteins and >2-fold downregulation of 68 proteins. The differentially expressed proteins were mainly involved in immune response, signal transduction, and stress response. Conclusion: The proteins screened out may be potential protein markers for 1-BP poison-ing, which provides reliable and precise methods and thoughts for the diagnosis of 1-BP poisoning.

Abstract
Objective: This study was mainly focused on styudy on he proteome profile change between exposure to 1-Bromopropane (1-BP) and 1-BP poisoning. Methods: The samples of serums from exposure to 1-BP and 1-BP poisoning were collected and analyzed through Label free proteome technology platform. The differently expressed proteins between the two groups were quantified and identified, followed by function analysis by bioinformatics. Results: 127 proteins over 2 fold-change were selected, in which 39 proteins were up-regulated and 88 proteins were down-regulated. These different-ly expressed proteins were mainly involved in the process of enzyme active regulation, inflammatory reaction, protein modification, stress response, coagulation, transport. Conclusion: The differently expressed proteins provided the potential protein biomarkers for the early diagnosis of 1-BP poisoning and was beneficial for clinical diagnosis of 1-BP and understanding of the mechanism of 1-BP poisoning.
