Abstract
A case of coexisting moyamoya disease and craniopharyngioma in an 8-year-old boy is reported. The patient had been suffering from recurrence of transient right hemiparesis with headache and vomiting during the three years before admission. After the diagnosis of both moyamoya disease and craniopharyngioma, evacuation of the cystic fluid of the craniopharyngioma, encephalomyosynangiosis , and internal irradiation through an Ommaya drainage system were carried out. The symptoms gradually improved after these procedures. The relation of moyamoya disease to craniopharyngioma is discussed. We consider that internal irradiation is one of the best means of treatment for a cystic craniopharyngioma associated with moyamoya disease.

Abstract
New carbapenem antibiotics named asparenomycins A, B and C were isolated from the fermentation broths of Streptomyces tokumonensis sp. nov. and of Streptomyces argenteolus. The fermentative production, isolation and physico-chemical properties of these antibiotics are described.

Abstract
A case of chondromyxoid fibroma of the frontal bone in a 15-year-old girl is presented. This is a benign tumor, but should be excised widely enough to include a rim of normal bone, otherwise it may recur or even undergo malignant transformation.

Abstract
A newly isolated bacterium which produces antibacterial substances as below was taxonomically characterized and identified with Corynebacterium equi. The major antibiotic produced was determined to be hygromycin by direct comparison. The minor component, newly named epihygromycin was proved to be an epimer of hygromycin by spectrosocopic evidences and by chemical conversions. The presence of epihygromycin in the metabolites of Streptomyces noboritoensis (reported to be a hygromycin producer) was also observed.

Abstract
In addition to trichostatins A and B, a new antifungal antibiotic, trichostatin C was isolated. The structure was shown to be a glucoside of trichostatin A by spectroscopic examinations and chemical degradations. Trichostatin C is presumably the first example of a glucopyranosyl hydroxamate from nature.

Abstract
New antibiotics, griseusins A and B were isolated from a strain of Streptomyces griseus. Both antibiotics have a 5-hydroxy-1, 4-naphthoquinone chromophore and their molecular formulae were determined to be C22H20O10 and C22H22O10, respectively. The griseusins are active against gram-positive bacteria.

Abstract
A new antibiotic, trichostatin, was isolated from the metabolites of strains of Streptomyces hygroscopicus. It is active against trichophytons and some fungi. The structure was determined to be a derivative of a primary hydroxamic acid by chemical and spectroscopic evidences.
