Abstract
BACKGROUND It is generally beneficial and recommended that dichorionic triamniotic (DCTA) triplet pregnancies be reduced to monochorionic (MC) twin or singleton pregnancies after assisted reproductive technology (ART). However, some infertile couples still have a firm desire to retain twins. For this reason, the best foetal reduction strategies need to be available for infertile couples and clinicians. Given that data on the elective reduction of DCTA triplet pregnancies to twin pregnancies are scarce, we investigated the outcomes of elective reduction of DCTA triplet pregnancies through the retrospective analysis of previous data. METHOD Patients with DCTA triplet pregnancies who underwent elective foetal reduction between January 2012 and June 2020 were recruited. A total of 67 eligible patients with DCTA triplet pregnancies were divided into two groups: a DCTA-to-dichorionic diamniotic (DCDA) twin group (n = 38) and a DCTA-to-monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) twin group (n = 29); the basic clinical data of the two groups were collected for comparison. RESULTS Compared with the DCDA-to-MCDA twin group, the DCTA-to-DCDA twin group had lower rates of complete miscarriage (7.89% versus 31.03%, p = 0.014), early complete miscarriage (5.26% versus 24.14%, p = 0.034), late preterm birth (25.71% versus 65.00%, p = 0.009) and very low birth weight (0 versus 11.11%, p = 0.025). In addition, the DCTA-to-DCDA twin group had higher rates of full-term delivery (65.71% versus 25.00%, p = 0.005), survival (92.11% versus 68.97%, p = 0.023), and taking the babies home (92.11% versus 68.97%, p = 0.023) than did the DCTA-to-MCDA twin group. In terms of neonatal outcomes, a significantly greater gestational age (38.06 ± 2.39 versus 36.28 ± 2.30, p = 0.009), average birth weight (3020.77 ± 497.33 versus 2401.39 ± 570.48, p < 0.001), weight of twins (2746.47 ± 339.64 versus 2251.56 ± 391.26, p < 0.001), weight of the larger neonate (2832.94 ± 320.58 versus 2376.25 ± 349.95, p < 0.001) and weight of the smaller neonate (2660.00 ± 345.34 versus 2126.88 ± 400.93, p < 0.001) was observed in the DCTA-to-DCDA twin group compared to the DCTA-to-MCDA twin group. CONCLUSION The DCTA-to-DCDA twin group had better pregnancy and neonatal outcomes than the DCTA-to-MCDA twin group. This reduction approach may be beneficial for patients with dichorionic triamniotic triplet pregnancies who have a strong desire to have DCDA twins.

Abstract
Cervical and prostate cancer account for 7.1 and 7.3 deaths per 100,000 people globally in 2022. These rates increased significantly to 17.6 and 17.3 in Africa, respectively, making them the second and third leading cause of cancer deaths in Africa, only surpassed by breast cancer. The human papillomavirus is the prime risk factor for cervical cancer infection. On the other hand, prostate cancer risks include ageing, genetics, race, geography, and family history. However, these factors alone cannot account for the high mortality rate in Africa, which is more than twice the global mortality rate for the two cancers. We searched PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Web of Science to select relevant articles using keywords related to microorganisms involved in cervical and prostate cancer and the impact of poor healthcare systems on the mortality rates of these two cancers in Africa by carrying out a detailed synopsis of the studies on microbial agents involved and the contributory factors to the deteriorating healthcare system in Africa. It became apparent that the developed countries come first in terms of the prevalence of cervical and prostate cancer. However, more people per capita in Africa die from these cancers as compared to other continents. Also, microbial infections (bacterial or viral), especially sexually transmitted infections, cause inflammation, which triggers the pathogenesis and progression of these cancers among the African population; this has been linked to the region's deficient health infrastructure, making it difficult for people with microbial infections to access healthcare and hence making infection control and prevention challenging. Taken together, untreated microbial infections, primarily sexually transmitted infections due to the deficient healthcare systems in Africa, are responsible for the high mortality rate of cervical and prostate cancer.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Breast cancer has the highest incidence rate of cancer worldwide, and brain metastases (BrM) are among the most malignant cases. While some patients have benefited from immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), the complex anatomical structure of the brain and the heterogeneity of metastatic tumors have made it difficult to characterize the tumor immune microenvironment (TME) of metastatic tumors. METHODS To address this, we used single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to analyze immune cells in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of BrM patients with breast cancer, thereby providing a comprehensive view of the immune microenvironment landscape of BrM. RESULTS Based on canonical marker genes, we identified nine cell types, and further identified their subtypes through differential expression gene (DEG) analysis. We compared the changes in cells and functions in the immune microenvironment of patients with different prognoses. Our analysis revealed a series of genes that promote tumor immune function (CCR5, LYZ, IGKC, MS4A1, etc.) and inhibit tumor immune function (SCGB2A2, CD24, etc.). CONCLUSIONS The scRNA-seq in CSF provides a noninvasive method to describe the TME of breast cancer patients and guide immunotherapy.

Abstract
Interventional radiology shows promises in the field of women's health, particularly in pelvic interventions. This review article discusses the latest advancements in interventional radiology techniques for pelvic conditions affecting women including adenomyosis, abdominal wall endometriosis and uterine leiomyoma. Extraperitoneal endometriosis involving the abdominal wall may be treated by percutaneous thermal ablation, such as cryoablation, whereas uterine leiomyoma and adenomyosis can be managed either using percutaneous thermal ablation or using uterine artery embolization. Continued research and development in interventional radiology will further enhance the minimally-invasive interventions available for women's health, improving outcomes and quality of life for this large patient population of women.

Abstract
Ferroptosis, a defensive strategy commonly employed by the host cells to restrict pathogenic infections, has been implicated in the development and therapeutic responses of various types of cancer. However, the role of ferroptosis in oncogenic Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV)-induced cancers remains elusive. While a growing number of non-histone proteins have been identified as acetylation targets, the functions of these modifications have yet to be revealed. Here, we show KSHV reprogramming of host acetylation proteomics following cellular transformation of rat primary mesenchymal precursor. Among them, SERPINE1 mRNA binding protein 1 (SERBP1) deacetylation is increased and required for KSHV-induced cellular transformation. Mechanistically, KSHV-encoded viral interleukin-6 (vIL-6) promotes SIRT3 deacetylation of SERBP1, preventing its binding to and protection of lipoyltransferase 2 (Lipt2) mRNA from mRNA degradation resulting in ferroptosis. Consequently, a SIRT3-specific inhibitor, 3-TYP, suppresses KSHV-induced cellular transformation by inducing ferroptosis. Our findings unveil novel roles of vIL-6 and SERBP1 deacetylation in regulating ferroptosis and KSHV-induced cellular transformation, and establish the vIL-6-SIRT3-SERBP1-ferroptosis pathways as a potential new therapeutic target for KSHV-associated cancers.

Abstract
Introduction Breast cancer (BC) is one of the commonest cancers among women worldwide. Differences regarding tumor biology, presentation, genetics, and molecular subtypes may contribute to the relatively poorer prognosis among younger women. Limited information exists regarding pathologic characteristics and long-term outcomes among this group. Methods This retrospective cohort study included 695 BC patients diagnosed over a 10-year period and investigated the clinicopathological characteristics and long-term disease outcomes among patients diagnosed at age less than or equal to 40 years compared with older ones. Cox regression analysis was performed, and Kaplan-Meier curves were generated to assess overall survival (OS). Results Compared with the younger patients (⩽40 years) estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor (PR) expression was mainly positive in older patients (>40 years) (76.2% vs 61.3% and 64.2% vs 49.6%, respectively). The most common molecular subtype in both age groups was luminal B (44.1% in older and 40.3% in younger). A clinical complete remission after neoadjuvant therapy was observed more frequently in older patients (76.7%; N = 442) in comparison with the younger patients (66.4%; N = 79) (P = .018). Recurrence and disease progression were significantly more likely to occur among younger patients accounting for 12.6% and 29.4% of the cases, compared with 6.3% and 18.2% in older patients (P = .016 and P = .006, respectively). The overall mortality was 132 (19%) of 695, with 88% cancer-related deaths. Estrogen receptor and PR expression (P ⩽ .001 and P = .003, respectively), molecular subtype (P = .002), tumor grade (P = .002), and N stage (P = .038) were the variables that were found to be significantly influenced by age. The OS was not statistically different among 2 age groups, but younger patients with luminal A molecular subtype showed significantly poor outcome (P = .019). Conclusion Overall survival in women diagnosed with BC at age less than or equal to 40 years is not significantly worse than older patients. However, among patients with luminal A subtype, younger women had relatively poor survival. Further research is needed to understand this age-based disparity in outcomes.

The effect of Pilates exercise during pregnancy on delivery outcomes: a systematic review and meta-analysis. Women Health 2024; 64:131-141. Abstract
A systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted to investigate the effectiveness of the Pilates exercise program during pregnancy on different delivery outcomes. Various databases were searched from inception until November 2022. The included studies compared Pilates exercise to routine antenatal care in pregnant women. The primary outcomes assessed were vaginal and cesarean delivery rates, as well as labor duration. Secondary outcomes included episiotomy incidence, Apgar scores, and epidural analgesia. Seven studies met the inclusion criteria, involving a total of 1,003 patients. Results indicated a significant increase in the vaginal delivery rate among the Pilates exercise group compared to the control group (p < .001). Moreover, the Pilates exercise group exhibited significantly reduced rates of cesarean delivery and shorter labor duration. Pilates exercise was associated with a significant decline in the incidence of episiotomy and the number of women requiring epidural analgesia during delivery (p < .001 & p = .008). In addition, Apgar scores at one and five minutes were significantly higher in the Pilates exercise group compared to the control group (p < .001). In conclusion, Pilates exercise during pregnancy has a positive effect on maternal outcomes and Apgar scores. However, more trials are needed to confirm these findings.

Abstract
A multiparous woman in her 20s, presented to the clinic with bleeding from caesarean scar site. After clinical examination and radiological evaluation with ultrasound and MR fistulogram, the diagnosis was utero-cutaneous fistula. Complete resection of fistulous tract with uterine defect closure and supportive omental patch placement was done after an intraoperative demonstration of the utero-cutaneous fistula by injecting methylene blue dye. Utero-cutaneous fistula is a rare complication after caesarean section. Cyclical bleeding from an abnormal opening in previous caesarean scar site is the classical presentation of this condition.

Abstract
Preterm birth (PTB) is the primary cause of neonatal mortality and long-term disabilities. The unknown mechanism behind PTB makes diagnosis difficult, yet early detection is necessary for controlling and averting related consequences. The primary focus of this work is to provide an overview of the known risk factors associated with preterm labor and the conventional and advanced procedures for early detection of PTB, including multi-omics and artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML)- based approaches. It also discusses the principles of detecting various proteomic biomarkers based on lateral flow immunoassay and microfluidic chips, along with the commercially available point-of-care testing (POCT) devices and associated challenges. After briefing the therapeutic and preventive measures of PTB, this review summarizes with an outlook.

Abstract
PURPOSE To explore the role of the Enhancer of rudimentary homolog (ERH) gene on the proliferation and migration of ARPE-19 cells, and its mechanism. METHODS ARPE-19 cells were divided into ERH gene knockdown (ERH KD) and normal ERH gene (ERH NC) groups and infected with respected virus. Cell counting kit-8 assay, wound-healing assay, and flow cytometry were performed to evaluate the effects of the ERH gene on cell proliferation, migration, and cell cycle. A 4D label-free quantitative proteomic analysis was conducted to obtain the ERH gene knockdown-related differential proteins list (DPL). Gene Ontology (GO), Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG), protein domain analysis, subcellular localization analysis, and protein-protein interaction (PPI) analysis were performed to explore the main downstream functions of the ERH gene. Proteins related to DNA replication, cell cycle, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) were identified by Western blot test. RESULTS The ERH gene was successfully knocked down in ARPE-19 cells of the ERH KD group. The proliferation and migration of cells were reduced and the cell cycle was arrested at the S phase in the ERH KD group. A DPL of 47 upregulated and 108 downregulated proteins was obtained, and their functions were explored and found to be associated with the MCM complex, DNA replication, and cell cycle. Protein domain analysis, protein subcellular localization analysis, and PPI analysis showed that the MCM complex may play a key role in the proliferation of ARPE-19 cells affected by the ERH gene. DNA replication, cell cycle, and EMT-related proteins were affected when the ERH gene was knocked down. CONCLUSION Knockdown of ERH gene inhibits the proliferation and migration of ARPE-19 cells through the MCM complex and EMT process.

Abstract
The paper presents an LC-MS/MS-based approach to targeted screening of both polar and non-polar metabolites using a synthesized monolithic column which is a copolymer of styrene, divinylbenzene, and 1-vinyl-1,2,4-triazole. It was shown that this column in combination with eluents 20 mM (NH4)2CO3 + NH3 (pH = 9.8, eluent A) and ACN (eluent B) allows for separation of metabolites of different nature in two modes, HILIC and RP LC, and these methods are mutually complementary. A combination of analyses based on these two modes was proposed, allowing detection of about 400 metabolites in a total time of less than 30 min. Comparison of the developed method with those utilizing commercially available columns with sorbents of various types showed that it could provide a broader metabolite coverage. Using the developed approach, metabolomic screening of dried blood spots samples of mice exposed with X-ray was performed, and metabolites that could be considered as possible markers of irradiation exposure and organ tissue damage were detected. Analysis of marker metabolites revealed metabolic pathways that were altered by radiation exposure. Comparison of the results with literature data showed the effectiveness of the developed metabolomic screening approach.

Abstract
Ferroptosis has attracted significant attention as a new mechanism of cell death. Sorafenib (SRF) is widely considered a prototypical ferroptosis-inducing drug, particularly for liver cancer treatment. However, the low solubility and hydrophobic nature of SRF, along with the absence of synergistic therapeutic strategies, still limit its application in cancer treatment. Herein, we report a dual therapeutic method incorporating photothermal therapy and ferroptosis by using Fe-doped mesoporous polydopamine nanoparticles (Fe-mPDA@SRF-TPP) as a carrier for loading SRF and targeting triphenylphosphine (TPP). SRF molecules are efficiently encapsulated within the polydopamine nanospheres with a high loading ratio (80%) attributed to the porosity of Fe-mPDA, and the inherent biocompatibility and hydrophilicity of Fe-mPDA@SRF-TPP facilitate the transport of SRF to the target cancer cells. Under the external stimuli of acidic environment (pH 5.0), glutathione (GSH), and laser irradiation, Fe-mPDA@SRF-TPP shows sustained release of SRF and Fe ions with the ratio of 72 and 50% within 48 h. Fe-mPDA@SRF-TPP nanoparticles induce intracellular GSH depletion, inhibit glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) activity, and generate hydroxyl radicals, all of which are essential components of the therapeutic ferroptosis process for killing MDA-MB-231 cancer cells. Additionally, the excellent near-infrared (NIR) light absorption of Fe-mPDA@SRF-TPP nanoparticles demonstrates their capability for photothermal therapy and further enhances the therapeutic efficiency. Therefore, this nanosystem provides a multifunctional therapeutic platform that overcomes the therapeutic limitations associated with standalone ferroptosis and enhances the therapeutic efficacy of SRF for breast cancer.

Abstract
SHFM (Split Hand/Foot Malformation) is a heterogeneous group of disorders characterized by the presence of clefts in the hands and feet, along with syndactyly of the digits. In this article, we describe a family in which two members exhibit characteristic developmental abnormalities associated with SHFM, presenting with variable clinical features. Using whole-genome sequencing, we identified a microduplication of a chromosomal segment on locus 10q24.32, specifically spanning positions 102934495 to 103496555, encompassing genes BTRC, POLL, FBXW4 and LBX1 in the proband. Genomic duplications, including these genes, were previously described in patients diagnosed with the third type of SHFM. We validated the presence of this structural rearrangement in 7 family members, including the proband and the proband's father. Remarkably, further investigation demonstrated that the detected duplication exhibits a mosaic state in the phenotypically normal paternal grandmother of the proband, thereby providing a plausible explanation for the absence of a pathological phenotype in her.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Lung metastasis is a significant adverse predictor of prognosis in patients with breast cancer. Accurate estimation for the prognosis of patients with lung metastasis and population-based validation for the models are lacking. In the present study, we aimed to establish the nomogram to identify prognostic factors correlated with lung metastases and evaluate individualized survival in patients with lung metastasis based on SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results) database. METHODS We selected 1197 patients diagnosed with breast cancer with lung metastasis (BCLM) from the SEER database and randomly assigned them to the training group (n = 837) and the testing group (n = 360). Based on univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis, we evaluated the effects of multiple variables on survival in the training group and constructed a nomogram to predict the 1-, 2-, and 3-year survival probability of patients. The nomogram were verified internally and externally by Concordance index (C-index), Net Reclassification (NRI), Integrated Discrimination Improvement (IDI), Decision Curve Analysis (DCA), and calibration plots. RESULTS According to the results of multi-factor Cox regression analysis, age, histopathology, grade, marital status, bone metastasis, brain metastasis, liver metastasis, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), surgery, neoadjuvant therapy and chemotherapy were considered as independent prognostic factors for patients with BCLM. The C-index in the training group was 0.719 and the testing group was 0.695, respectively. The AUC values of the 1-, 2-, and 3-year prognostic nomogram in the training group were 0.798, 0.790 and 0.793, and the corresponding AUC values in the testing group were 0.765, 0.761 and 0.722. The calculation results of IDI and NRI were shown. The nomograms significantly improved the risk reclassification for 1-, 2-, and 3-year overall mortality prediction compared with the AJCC 7th staging system. According to the calibration plot, nomograms showed good consistency between predicted and actual overall survival (OS) values for the patients with BCLM. DCA showed that nomograms had better net benefits at different threshold probabilities at different time points compared with the AJCC 7th staging system. CONCLUSIONS Nomograms that predicted 1-, 2-, and 3-year OS for patients with BCLM were successfully constructed and validated to help physicians in evaluating the high risk of mortality in breast cancer patients.

BACKGROUND Prenatal exposure to intrauterine inflammation (IUI) is a crucial event in preterm birth (PTB) pathophysiology, increasing the incidence of neurodevelopmental disorders. METHOD AND RESULTS In this study, IUI-exposed PTB mouse model was established and verified by PTB rate and other perinatal adverse reactions; LPS-indued IUI significantly increased the rates of PTB, apoptosis and inflammation in placenta tissue samples. LPS-induced IUI caused no significant differences in species richness and evenness but significantly altered the species abundance distribution. Non-targeted metabolomics analysis indicated that the metabolite profile of the preterm mice was altered, and differential metabolites were associated with signaling pathways including pyruvate metabolism. Furthermore, a significant positive correlation between Parasutterella excrementihominis and S4572761 (Nb-p-coumaroyltryptamine) and Mreference-1264 (pyruvic acid), respectively, was observed. Lastly, pyruvic acid treatment partially improved LPS-induced IUI phenotypes and decreased PTB rates and decreased the apoptosis and inflammation in placenta tissue samples. CONCLUSION This study revealed an association among gut microbiota dysbiosis, metabolite profile alterations, and LPS-induced IUI and PTB in mice models. Our investigation revealed the possible involvement of gut microbiota in the pathophysiology of LPS-induced IUI and PTB, which might be mediated by metabolites such as pyruvic acid. Future studies should be conducted to verify the findings through larger sample-sized animal studies and clinical investigations.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Women with abnormal glucose tolerance during pregnancy are at risk for cardiovascular disease (CVD), with higher rates among Hispanics. However, studies on the impact of lifestyle interventions on postpartum CVD profiles are sparse. METHODS This is a secondary analysis of a controlled trial among a subsample of Hispanic women with abnormal glucose tolerance participating in Estudió PARTO (Project Aiming to Reduce Type twO diabetes; mean age = 28.2 y, SD: 5.8) who were randomized to a culturally modified Lifestyle intervention (n = 45) or a comparison Health and Wellness intervention (n = 55). Primary endpoints were biomarkers of cardiovascular risk (lipids, C-reactive protein, fetuin-A, and albumin-to-creatinine ratio) and insulin resistance (fasting insulin, glucose, HbA1c, homeostasis model assessment, leptin, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and adiponectin) measured at baseline (6-wk postpartum) and 6 and 12 months. RESULTS In intent-to-treat analyses, there were no significant differences in changes in biomarkers of CVD risk or insulin resistance over the postpartum year. In prespecified sensitivity analyses, women adherent with the Lifestyle Intervention had more favorable improvements in insulin (intervention effect = -4.87, SE: 1.93, P = .01) and HOMA-IR (intervention effect = -1.15, SE: 0.53, P = .03) compared with the Health and Wellness arm. In pooled analyses, regardless of intervention arm, women with higher postpartum sports/exercise had greater increase in HDL-cholesterol (intervention effect = 6.99, SE: 1.72, P = .0001). CONCLUSIONS In this randomized controlled trial among Hispanic women with abnormal glucose tolerance, we did not observe a significant effect on postpartum biomarkers of CVD risk or insulin resistance. Women adherent to the intervention had more favorable changes in insulin and HOMA-IR.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate perinatal effects of umbilical cord entanglement (UCE) of different body parts. METHODS The database of a tertiary medical center was retrospectively searched for women who gave birth to a liveborn singleton newborn in 2014-2018. Those diagnosed postpartum with UCE were matched 1:10 with women who were not and compared for adverse obstetric and neonatal outcomes, overall and by site of entanglement. RESULTS A total of 14 299 women were evaluated, of whom 1243 were diagnosed with UCE: 78.7% neck, 26% trunk, 6.7% limb. UCE was associated with lower birth weight percentile and higher rate of small for gestational age, but findings were significant only for neck and trunk UCE. On multivariate regression analysis adjusted for maternal age, parity, gestational age at birth, and history of cesarean delivery, UCE was an independent risk factor for nonreassuring fetal heart rate, labor induction, operative vaginal delivery, cesarean delivery, and meconium-stained amniotic fluid, but not for lower absolute birth weight/birth weight percentile, small for gestational age, low 1-min Apgar score, or neonatal asphyxia. CONCLUSION While fetuses with UCE might be more compromised during labor, they apparently recover shortly after birth. The impact on perinatal outcomes was similar for UCE of the neck and trunk and lower for UCE of the limb.

Abstract
Endometriosis is characterized by a condition where endometrial tissue grows outside the uterine cavity. The mechanisms of endometrium growth during endometriosis might be similar to the development of a tumor. The kisspeptin (KISS1) gene was initially discovered as a suppressor of metastasis. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their inhibitors are described as factors in the early stages of endometriosis and tumor growth progression. We applied the quantitative polymerase chain reaction and the immunofluorescence method to investigate KISS1, its receptor (KISS1R), MMP-2, and MMP-9 in the eutopic and ectopic endometrium in women with and without endometriosis. We presume that the dysregulation of KISS1 and MMPs might contribute to endometriosis pathogenesis. Samples for the immunofluorescence study were collected from patients with a confirmed diagnosis of endometriosis in stages I-IV, aged 23 to 38 years old (n = 40). The cell line was derived from the endometrium of patients with extragenital endometriosis (n = 7). KISS1 and KISS1R expression are present in the ectopic endometrium of patients with extragenital endometriosis, as opposed to the control group where these proteins were not expressed. There is a decrease in KISS1 and KISS1R values at all stages of endometriosis. MMP-2 and MMP-9 genes express statistically significant increases in stages II, III, and IV of extragenital endometriosis. MMP synthesis increased in the last stages of endometriosis. We suppose that the KISS1/KISS1R system can be used in the future as a suppressive complex to reduce MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression and prevent endometrial cells from invading.

Abstract
BACKGROUND & AIMS Amniotic fluid (AF) is the primary intrauterine environment for fetal growth throughout gestation. Selective fetal growth restriction (sFGR) is an adverse complication characterized by unequal growth in twins with nearly identical genetic makeup. However, the influence of AF-mediated intrauterine environment on the development and progression of sFGR remains unexplored. METHODS High-throughput targeted metabolomics analysis (G350) was performed on AF samples collected from sFGR (n = 18) and MCDA twins with birth weight concordance (MCDA-C, n = 20) cases. Weighted correlation network analysis (WGCNA) was used to identify clinical features that may influence the metabolite composition in AF. Subsequently, partial least-squares discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analyses were performed to compare the different types of sFGR and MCDA-C twins. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) and multivariate ROC curves were utilized to explore potential AF markers in twins with sFGR. RESULTS In our study, 182 metabolites were quantified in 76 AF samples. WGCNA indicated that the metabolite composition in late AF may not be influenced by gestational age. PLSDA demonstrated distinct variations between the metabolite profiles of AF in the sFGR and MCDA-C twins, with a significant emphasis on amino acids as the primary differential metabolite. The dissimilarities observed in sFGR twins were predominantly attributed to lipid metabolism-related metabolites. In particular, the KEGG enrichment metabolic pathway analysis revealed significant associations of both types of sFGR twins with central carbon metabolism in cancer. The multivariate ROC curves indicated that the combination of carnosine, sarcosine, l-alanine, beta-alanine, and alpha-n-phenylacetylglutamine significantly improved the AUC to 0.928. Notably, the ROC curves highlighted creatine (AUC:0.934) may be a potential biomarker for severe sFGR. CONCLUSION The data presented in this study offer a comprehensive metabolic map of the AF in cases of sFGR, shedding light on potential biomarkers associated with fetal growth and development in MCDA twins.

Abstract
Background Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the minimum amount of energy needed by the body to carry out essential physiological functions. The goal of this study was to evaluate whether BMR causally influences venous thromboembolism (VTE) and its subtypes in European individuals. Methods A two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) was performed. Within a genome-wide association study (GWAS) involving 454,874 people, genetic variants were chosen as instrumental variables based on their significant associations (p < 5 × 10-8) with BMR and their limited linkage disequilibrium (r2 < 0.001). The FinnGen project served as sources for summary statistics of VTE, encompassing different subtypes. Results Using the multiplicative random-effect inverse variance weighted method, our investigation revealed that one standard deviation higher BMR was associated with VTE (odds ratio [OR] = 1.684, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.465-1.936, p = 2.339 × 10-13), PE (OR = 1.824, 95% CI: 1.512-2.200, p = 3.399 × 10-10), and DVT of lower extremities (OR = 1.887, 95% CI: 1.562-2.280, p = 4.778 × 10-11). The consistency of these associations was observed in sensitivity analyses using various MR techniques like Mendelian randomization pleiotropy residual sum and outlier, MR-Egger, weighted median, and contamination mixture method. In addition, multivariable MR revealed direct effects of BMR on VTE and its subtypes when taking body mass index and current tobacco smoking into account. Conclusion Higher BMR may increase the risk of VTE and its subtypes including PE and DVT of lower extremities.

Abstract
Hydatid cyst is a parasitic infestation caused by Echinococcus larvae. Hydatid cyst of the ovary is a highly unusual presentation. Herein, we present a case of a young woman who complained of episodic lower abdominal pain. Ultrasound of the abdomen revealed a multi-cystic left adnexal mass measuring 86 mm x 67 mm. A possibility of ovarian cystic neoplasm was suggested. Unilateral salpingo-oophorectomy was performed. On histopathological examination, a cyst measuring 8.0 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm was found, replacing the entire ovary. The cyst cavity was filled with serous fluid and multiple pearly white membranous structures, giving a multiloculated appearance. Microscopic examination showed a cyst lined by a lamellar membrane containing protoscolices and hooklets. Hydatid disease is a zoonotic ailment caused by tapeworms (Echinococcus granulosus or, less commonly, Echinococcus multilocularis). The definitive hosts are carnivores. Humans are the accidental intermediate hosts. The hydatid cyst commonly affects the liver and the lungs. The primary hydatid cyst of the ovary is quite rare, with few case reports in the literature. In most cases, symptoms are vague, and the lesion is misdiagnosed as benign or malignant ovarian cystic neoplasm on clinical and radiological examination. Ovarian hydatid cyst is treated by surgery with ovarian cystectomy as the gold standard. The possibility of a hydatid cyst should be kept under differential diagnoses while evaluating the cystic diseases of the ovary.

Abstract
Physical activity (PA) maintains weight and reduces postnatal weight retention (PWR), thereby lowering obesity-related comorbidities. There is only limited evidence on the most effective postnatal PA for Malaysian women. This review identified evidence-based literature on the effectiveness of PA interventions in managing weight in postnatal women and the preferred type of intervention for them. A systematic literature search was conducted following the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses guidelines. Randomised controlled trials and quasi-experimental research related to PA interventions for women during the postnatal period (18 months after delivery) published in English from 2011 to 2021 were searched in ProQuest, Scopus, Springer Link and PubMed using the following keywords: 'physical activity', 'weight management' and 'postnatal women'. Intervention groups with weight and body mass index measured after any supervised PA guidance/counselling with a minimum follow-up of 10 weeks were included in the analysis. Those with pharmacological management and a comparator control group were excluded. A total of six articles met the inclusion criteria. Using the revised Cochrane risk of bias tool for randomised trials, one of these articles was classified as low-risk, two as having some concerns and three as having a high risk of bias. Walking, yoga and Pilates were found to be the most appropriate and preferred types of physical activity, despite having a small but significant impact on postnatal women's weight management. Healthcare professionals should adopt programmes that explicitly target these PA interventions to manage PWR.

Abstract
The endometrium is a unique human tissue with an extraordinary ability to undergo a hormone-regulated cycle encompassing shedding, bleeding, scarless repair, and regeneration throughout the female reproductive cycle. The cyclical repair and regeneration of the endometrium manifest as changes in endometrial epithelialization, glandular regeneration, and vascularization. The mechanisms encompass inflammation, coagulation, and fibrinolytic system balance. However, specific conditions such as endometriosis or TCRA treatment can disrupt the process of cyclical endometrial repair and regeneration. There is uncertainty about traditional clinical treatments' efficacy and side effects, and finding new therapeutic interventions is essential. Researchers have made substantial progress in the perspective of regenerative medicine toward maintaining cyclical endometrial repair and regeneration in recent years. Such progress encompasses the integration of biomaterials, tissue-engineered scaffolds, stem cell therapies, and 3D printing. This review analyzes the mechanisms, diseases, and interventions associated with cyclical endometrial repair and regeneration. The review discusses the advantages and disadvantages of the regenerative interventions currently employed in clinical practice. Additionally, it highlights the significant advantages of regenerative medicine in this domain. Finally, we review stem cells and biologics among the available interventions in regenerative medicine, providing insights into future therapeutic strategies.

Abstract
This review presents an overview of one of the effective strategies for improving the anticancer impact of many drugs including sorafenib using a drug delivery system by employing nanoparticles that is produced through a biological system. The biological process has a lot of benefits, including being inexpensive and safe for the environment. Sorafenib is one of a multi-kinase inhibitor that inhibits molecularly targeted kinases. Because of its poor pharmacokinetic characteristics, such as fast elimination and limited water solubility, the bioavailability of Sorafenib is extremely low. More intelligent nano formulations of sorafenib have been developed to boost both the drug's target ability and bioavailability. Researchers in a wide variety of sectors, including nanomedicine, have recently been interested in the topic of nanotechnology. It is possible for the body to develop resistance to widely used drugs available for treatment of liver cancer, including sorafenib. As a result, our goal of this research is to highlight the efficacy of nanomedicine-based drug delivery system to enhance drug's cancer-fighting properties. Because of their magnetic properties, certain nanoparticle materials can be employed as a carrier for the medicine to the exact place where the cancer is located. This can lower the amount of the drug that is administered with no impact on the normal cells.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Selective fetal growth restriction (sFGR) is an extreme complication that significantly increases the risk of perinatal mortality and long-term adverse neurological outcomes in offspring, affecting approximately 15% of monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) twin pregnancies. The lack of longitudinal cohort studies hinders the early prediction and intervention of sFGR. METHODS We constructed a prospective longitudinal cohort study of sFGR, and quantified 25 key metabolites in 337 samples from maternal plasma in the first, second, and third trimester and from cord plasma. In particular, our study examined fetal growth and brain injury data from ultrasonography and used the Ages and Stages Questionnaire-third edition subscale (ASQ-3) to evaluate the long-term neurocognitive behavioral development of infants aged 2-3 years. Furthermore, we correlated metabolite levels with ultrasound data, including physical development and brain injury indicators, and ASQ-3 data using Spearman's-based correlation tests. In addition, special combinations of differential metabolites were used to construct predictive models for the occurrence of sFGR and fetal brain injury. RESULTS Our findings revealed various dynamic patterns for these metabolites during pregnancy and a maximum of differential metabolites between sFGR and MCDA in the second trimester (n = 8). The combination of L-phenylalanine, L-leucine, and L-isoleucine in the second trimester, which were closely related to fetal growth indicators, was highly predictive of sFGR occurrence (area under the curve [AUC]: 0.878). The combination of L-serine, L-histidine, and L-arginine in the first trimester and creatinine in the second trimester was correlated with long-term neurocognitive behavioral development and showed the capacity to identify fetal brain injury with high accuracy (AUC: 0.94). CONCLUSIONS The performance of maternal plasma metabolites from the first and second trimester is superior to those from the third trimester and cord plasma in discerning sFGR and fetal brain injury. These metabolites may serve as useful biomarkers for early prediction and promising targets for early intervention in clinical settings.

Abstract
Preterm delivery (PTD) is a notable pregnancy complication, affecting one out of every ten births. This study set out to investigate whether analyzing the metabolic composition of amniotic fluid (AF) collected from pregnant women during the second trimester of pregnancy could offer valuable insights into prematurity. The research employed 1H-NMR metabolomics to examine AF samples obtained from 17 women who gave birth prematurely (between 29+0 and 36+5 weeks of gestation) and 43 women who delivered at full term. The application of multivariate analysis revealed metabolites (dimethylglycine, glucose, myo-inositol, and succinate) that can serve as possible biomarkers for the prognosis and early diagnosis of preterm delivery. Additionally, pathway analysis unveiled the most critical metabolic pathways relevant to our research hypothesis. In summary, these findings suggest that the metabolic composition of AF in the second trimester can be a potential indicator for identifying biomarkers associated with the risk of PTD.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Ovarian endometrioid carcinoma (OEC) is the second most commonly occurring ovarian epithelial malignancy, but the associated prognostic factors remain obscure. This study aimed to analyze independent prognostic factors for patients with OEC and to develop and validate a nomogram to predict the overall survival (OS) of these patients. METHODS Clinical information of patients with OEC (2000-2019) was obtained from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. Univariate and multivariate Cox analyses were used to identify independent prognostic factors, and nomogram models were constructed using independent prognostic factors. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, calibration plots, and decision curve analysis (DCA) were used to verify the accuracy and validity of the nomogram. Kaplan-Meier curves were used to compare the differences in OS and cancer-specific survival (CSS) among subgroups. RESULTS A total of 4628 patients with OEC were included, being divided into training (n = 3238) and validation (n = 1390) sets (7:3 ratio). On multivariate Cox analysis, AJCC stage, age, tumor size, differentiation, chemotherapy, and lymph node resection were significant predictors of survival outcomes (P < 0.05). Resection of 1-3 lymph nodes in early-stage OEC patients did not significantly prolong OS (P > 0.05), but resection of ≥ 4 lymph nodes in early-stage improved OS and CSS (P < 0.05). The OS of early-stage patients was not related to whether or not they received chemotherapy (P > 0.05). Lymph node resection and chemotherapy significantly improved the prognosis of patients with advanced OEC (P < 0.05). The c-index of nomogram prediction model was 0.782. ROC with good discrimination, calibration plots with high consistency, and DCA with large net benefit rate result in large clinical value. CONCLUSION AJCC stage, differentiation, tumor size, age, chemotherapy, and lymph node dissection were prognostic factors of OEC. The constructed nomogram prediction model can effectively predict the prognosis of OEC patients and improve the accuracy of clinical decision-making.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Due to the high prevalence of breast and gynecological cancers among women, it is crucial to identify the risk factors of these cancers. Thus, the present study aimed to evaluate the relationship between breast and gynecological cancers and infertility and its treatments in women suffering from these cancers. METHODS This case-control study was conducted with the participation of 400 people (200 women with breast and gynecological cancers and 200 healthy women without a history of cancer) in hospitals and health centers in Tabriz, Iran, in 2022. Data were collected using a four-part researcher-made questionnaire including sociodemographic characteristics, obstetric characteristics, information related to cancer, and information related to infertility and its treatments. RESULT s Based on the multivariable logistic regression model and by controlling sociodemographic and obstetric characteristics as possible confounding variables, women with cancer had an infertility history almost four times more than women who did not have a history of cancer (OR = 3.56; 95% CI: 1.36-9.33; P = 0.010). Women with breast cancer had an infertility history five times more than women without a history of breast cancer (OR = 5.11; 95% CI: 1.68-15.50; P = 0.004). The infertility history of women with gynecological cancer was more than three times that of the control group. However, there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups (OR = 3.36; 95% CI: 0.99-11.47; P = 0.053). CONCLUSION Infertility and its treatments may be involved in increasing the risk of breast and gynecological cancers.

Abstract
This article reviewed the identification of breast cancer in the distant metastatic setting through traditional immunohistochemical markers, such as mammaglobin and GATA3, compared with the novel immunohistochemical stain, Trichorhinophalangeal syndrome-1 (TRPS1). We review previous studies evaluating TRPS1 staining, which were conducted using cytology specimens, as well as our recently conducted study evaluating this stain using surgical tissue samples, both from primary and distant metastatic invasive breast carcinoma. In summary, although no immunohistochemical stain is 100% specific or sensitive, in the metastatic setting where tissue available for ancillary studies is limited, TRPS1 was a reliable and even a standalone marker for breast origin, particularly in cases of triple-negative breast cancer.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Apert, Crouzon, and Pfeiffer syndromes are common genetic syndromes related to syndromic craniosynostosis (SC), whereby it is a congenital defect that occurs when the cranial growth is distorted. Identifying cranial angles associated with these 3 syndromes may assist the surgical team to focus on a specific cranial part during the intervention planning, thus optimizing surgical outcomes and reducing potential morbidity. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to identify the cranial angles, which are associated with Apert, Crouzon, and Pfeiffer syndromes. METHODS The cranial computed tomography scan images of 17 patients with SC and 22 control groups aged 0 to 12 years who were treated in the University Malaya Medical Centre were obtained, while 12 angular measurements were attained using the Mimics software. The angular data were then divided into 2 groups (patients aged 0 to 24 months and >24 months). This work proposes a 95% confidence interval (CI) for angular mean to detect the abnormality in patient's cranial growth for the SC syndromes. RESULTS The 95% CI of angular mean for the control group was calculated and used as an indicator to confirm the abnormality in patient's cranial growth that is associated with the 3 syndromes. The results showed that there are different cranial angles associated with these 3 syndromes. CONCLUSIONS All cranial angles of the patients with these syndromes lie outside the 95% CI of angular mean of control group, indicating the reliability of the proposed CI in the identification of abnormality in the patient's cranial growth.

Abstract
p53-like bladder cancer (BLCA) is a bladder cancer subtype that is resistant to cisplatin-based chemotherapy. The ideal treatment modality for such tumors remains poorly defined, and immunotherapy seems to be a potential approach. Therefore, it is significant to understand the risk stratification of p53-like BLCA and identify novel therapeutic targets. ITIH5 is a member of the inter-α-trypsin inhibitory (ITI) gene family, and the effect of ITIH5 on p53-like BLCA remains elusive. In this study, TCGA data and in vitro experiments were used to explore the prognostic value of ITIH5 for p53-like BLCA and its effect on tumor cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. The impact of ITIH5 on the level of immune cell infiltration was explored using seven different algorithms, and the predictive value of ITIH5 on the efficacy of immunotherapy for p53-like BLCA was explored in combination with an independent immunotherapy cohort. The results showed that patients with high ITIH5 expression had a better prognosis, and overexpression of ITIH5 could inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion of tumor cells. Two or more algorithms consistently showed that ITIH5 promoted the infiltration of antitumor immune cells, such as B cells, CD4+ T cells, and CD8+ T cells. In addition, ITIH5 expression was positively correlated with the expression levels of many immune checkpoints, and the high ITIH5 expression group showed better response rates to PD-L1 and CTLA-4 therapies. In short, ITIH5 is a predictor of prognosis and the immunotherapy response for p53-like BLCA and is correlated with tumor immunity.

Abstract
ERH is a 100 to about 110 aa nuclear protein with unique primary and three-dimensional structures that are very conserved from simple eukaryotes to humans, albeit some species have lost its gene, with most higher fungi being a noteworthy example. Initially, studies on Drosophila melanogaster implied its function in pyrimidine metabolism. Subsequently, research on Xenopus laevis suggested that it acts as a transcriptional repressor. Finally, studies in humans pointed to a role in pre-mRNA splicing and in mitosis but further research, also in Caenorhabditis elegans and Schizosaccharomyces pombe, demonstrated its much broader activity, namely involvement in the biogenesis of mRNA, and miRNA, piRNA and some other ncRNAs, and in repressive heterochromatin formation. ERH interacts with numerous, mostly taxon-specific proteins, like Mmi1 and Mei2 in S. pombe, PID-3/PICS-1, TOST-1 and PID-1 in C. elegans, and DGCR8, CIZ1, PDIP46/SKAR and SAFB1/2 in humans. There are, however, some common themes in this wide range of processes and partners, such as: (a) ERH homodimerizes to form a scaffold for several complexes involved in the metabolism of nucleic acids, (b) all these RNAs are RNA polymerase II transcripts, (c) pre-mRNAs, whose splicing depends on ERH, are enriched in transcripts of DNA damage response and DNA metabolism genes, and (d) heterochromatin is formed to silence unwanted transcription, e.g., from repetitive elements. Thus, it seems that ERH has been adopted for various pathways that serve to maintain genome integrity.

Abstract
BACKGROUND One of the mechanisms of ovarian tumorigenesis is through inflammation. Kidney dysfunction is associated with increased inflammation; thus, we assessed its relationship with ovarian cancer risk. METHODS In prospectively collected samples, we evaluated the association of kidney function markers and C-reactive protein (CRP) with ovarian cancer risk in the UK Biobank. We used multivariable-adjusted Cox proportional hazards models to evaluate quartiles of serum and urine markers with ovarian cancer risk overall and by histology. We assessed effect modification by CRP (≤3.0, >3.0 mg/L). RESULTS Among 232,908 women (1,110 ovarian cancer cases diagnosed from 2006-2020), we observed no association between estimated glomerular filtration rate and ovarian cancer risk (Q4 vs. Q1: HR, 1.00; 95% confidence intervals, 0.83-1.22). Potassium was associated with endometrioid (Q4 vs. Q1: 0.33, 0.11-0.98) and clear cell (4.74, 1.39-16.16) tumors. Poor kidney function was associated with a nonsignificant increase in ovarian cancer risk among women with CRP>3.0 mg/L (e.g., uric acid Q4 vs. Q1; 1.23, 0.81-1.86), but not CRP≤3.0 mg/L (0.83, 0.66-1.05). Other associations did not vary across CRP categories. CONCLUSIONS Kidney function was not clearly associated with ovarian cancer risk. Larger studies are needed to evaluate possible histology specific associations. Given the suggestive trend for increased ovarian cancer risk in women with poor kidney function and high CRP, future work is needed, particularly in populations with a high prevalence of inflammatory conditions. IMPACT This study provided the first evaluation of markers of kidney function in relation to ovarian cancer risk.

Abstract
Apert syndrome (AS), also known as type I acrocephalosyndactyly, is a rare congenital condition characterized by craniosynostosis resulting from missense mutations in the fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2) gene. This comprehensive review delves into AS, covering its clinical manifestations, genetics, diagnosis, medical management, psychosocial considerations, and future research directions. AS presents with distinct features, including a brachycephalic skull, midface hypoplasia, and limb anomalies such as syndactyly. It follows an autosomal dominant inheritance pattern with mutations in the FGFR2 gene. Prenatal diagnosis is possible through advanced imaging techniques and molecular testing. The multidisciplinary approach to AS management involves surgical interventions, orthodontics, and psychological support. Although no curative treatment exists, early interventions can significantly improve function and aesthetics. The quality of life for AS patients is influenced by psychosocial factors, necessitating comprehensive support for both patients and their families. Future research directions include gene therapy, understanding cellular responses to FGFR2 mutations, and addressing genetic heterogeneity. Collaborative efforts are vital to advancing knowledge about AS and its genetic underpinnings. Overall, this review serves as a valuable resource for healthcare professionals, educators, and researchers, contributing to a deeper understanding of AS and facilitating advancements in diagnosis and treatment.

Abstract
Primary osteosarcoma of the uterus (uOS) is rare, and its standard treatment has not yet been established. Herein, we present the case of a 50-year-old woman with uOS who demonstrated an improved prognosis after multiple surgeries to the metastatic sites. After the initial diagnosis of uOS, the patient showed recurrence and distant metastasis and hence expected to exhibit a poor prognosis. The patient underwent multiple surgical resections of the metastatic as well as primary tumors, which enabled the patient to survive for 24 months after the initial surgery. Considering that the median survival time of patients with uOS is approximately 6 months, the survival rate of our patient is noteworthy. Based on our observations, it is suggested that the resection of the primary and metastatic tumors might contribute to the extension of the survival period of the patient with chemo-resistant uOS.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the value of fetal nasal bone hypoplasia and other prenatal risk factors in predicting chromosomal abnormalities. METHODS In this retrospective cohort study, we collected data on singleton pregnancies diagnosed with fetal nasal bone hypoplasia during second-trimester ultrasound. Fetal karyotyping and chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA) were performed, and pregnancy outcomes were assessed. The association between fetal nasal bone hypoplasia and chromosomal abnormalities was evaluated according to whether other prenatal risk factors were observed. RESULTS Our final analysis included 351 pregnancies, of which 62 (17.7%) fetuses had chromosomal abnormalities, including 36 cases of trisomy-21, six cases of trisomy-18, one case each of trisomy-13, and 47, XYY syndrome, and 18 cases of copy number variations (CNVs). Among the 243 cases of isolated nasal bone hypoplasia, 28 (11.5%) cases of chromosomal aberrations were identified. The incidence was significantly higher if other soft markers or structural abnormalities were simultaneously detected. Pregnancy was terminated in 43 aneuploid fetuses and nine fetuses detected with CNVs. The parents of the fetuses diagnosed with 47, XYY syndrome and the other nine CNVs chose to continue the pregnancy, and no abnormalities were detected in the newborns. Furthermore, we found that other prenatal risk factors should be considered in evaluating the likelihood of chromosomal abnormalities in fetuses with nasal bone hypoplasia. CONCLUSIONS Nasal bone hypoplasia is a highly specific soft marker that is associated with multiple chromosomal abnormalities. The risk of chromosomal abnormalities increases when combined with structural abnormalities or increased nuchal translucency (NT). Chromosomal microarray analysis is a powerful prenatal test for chromosomal abnormalities, which may be warranted in fetuses with nasal bone hypoplasia.

Abstract
Objectives To report a case of prenatal diagnosis of ectopic intrathoracic kidney with diaphragmatic hernia managed surgically after birth, and to conduct a review of the literature on prenatal diagnosis of ectopic intrathoracic kidney and perinatal prognosis. Material and methods We report the case of a 28-week fetus in which, on ultrasound imaging, a mass was observed displacing the heart and lung in the right hemithorax, which was was confirmed by magnetic resonance (MR) to be an ectopic intrathoracic kidney (ITEK). After birth, the neonate was approached by laparoscopy to place a mesh in continuity with the diaphragm, leaving the kidney in the abdomen, with good evolution. A search was conducted in the PubMed, Embase and Cochrane databases for cohorts, case reports and case series of prenatal diagnosis of intrathoracic kidney in the fetus. Information was retrieved regarding design, population, imaging diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. Results The search identified 8 studies that met the inclusion criteria, reporting a total of 8 cases. Ultrasound diagnosis showed ectopic intrathoracic kidney associated with diaphragmatic hernia in all the subjects. Fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was also used in 5 cases. Conclusions Ectopic intrathoracic kidney is a congenital abnormality amenable to prenatal diagnosis. Survival after corrective surgery performed in the neonatal period is common. There is a paucity of publications, limited to case reports, regarding the prenatal diagnosis of this condition.

Abstract
Caesarean-section scar endometriosis (CSSE) is a form of extra-pelvic endometriosis developing through endometrial cell implantation anywhere along the route of a previous caesarean section (CS) surgery, including the skin, subcutaneous tissue, abdominal wall muscles, intraperitoneally, and the uterine scar itself. Synchronous intra-abdominal endometriosis is not a prerequisite. Given the rising prevalence of CS, CSSE may be underrepresented in the literature and occur more frequently than previously thought. Locating a painful soft-tissue mass-like lesion along the path of a previous CS scar is the most indicative sign that should initially alarm physicians towards suggesting CSSE, especially if symptoms are typical (cyclically reoccurring with menstruation). The detection of hyperintense (haemorrhagic) foci on T1 fat-saturated sequences will strongly support the diagnosis on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the most sensitive imaging method for CSSE assessment. A non-specific, contrast-enhancing, hypodense nodule with spiculate edges may be suggestive if the lesion was originally detected on computed tomography (CT). Although ultrasound is frequently the first imaging method used, the findings are non-specific; therefore, making it more useful for ruling out other differentials and for image-guided biopsy. In any case, histopathology provides the definitive diagnosis. Surgical excision is the mainstay of treatment; however, minimally invasive, percutaneous techniques have also been implemented successfully.

Abstract
The continuous evolution of cancer biology has led to the discovery of mammaglobin, a potential novel biomarker for breast carcinoma. This review aims to unravel the enigmatic aspects of mammaglobin and elucidate its potential role in redefining the paradigm of breast carcinoma biomarkers. We will thoroughly examine its expression in tumoral and peritumoral tissues and its circulating levels in the blood, thereby providing insights into its possible function in cancer progression and metastasis. Furthermore, the potential application of mammaglobin as a non-invasive diagnostic tool and a target for personalized treatment strategies will be discussed. Given the increasing incidence of breast carcinoma worldwide, the exploration of novel biomarkers such as mammaglobin is crucial in advancing our diagnostic capabilities and treatment modalities, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes.

Abstract
Object: To investigate the chromosome abnormalities associated with absent or hypoplastic fetal nasal bone. Methods: Patients with fetal nasal bone anomalies (NBA) referred to our center for prenatal diagnosis between 2017 and 2021 were retrospectively evaluated. All these patients underwent chromosomal microarray and/or karyotyping and received genetic counseling before and after testing. Results: Among 320 fetuses with NBA, chromosomal abnormalities were diagnosed in 89 (27.8%) cases, including 53 cases of trisomy 21, which was the most common type of chromosomal aneuploidy, accounting for 59.6% of all detected abnormalities. In addition to aneuploidies, 29 cases of copy number variants (CNVs) were detected. In cases of isolated NBA with low-risk screening results and without other risk factors, the incidence of fetal chromosomal aneuploidies and pathogenic CNVs is 5.3% (7 in 132 cases). Conclusion: This study suggests that parents of fetuses should be informed about the possibility of fetal aneuploidy and pathogenic CNVs and that discussion with the parents is also recommended, providing data support and reference for clinical counseling.

Abstract
Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Among other cancers, breast cancer has been found to produce maximum number of cases in 2020. Different factors including geographical, genetic, hormonal, oral contraceptives and modern lifestyle could be responsible for the development of breast cancer and different pathways can be targeted for breast cancer treatment. The various conventional approaches used for the treatment of breast cancer including radiotherapy, chemotherapy, hormone and immunotherapy. But due to the side effects associated with these conventional treatments such as non-selectivity, multidrug resistance and bioavailability, there is a need for the development of better therapeutic agents for breast cancer treatment. Several natural products have been explored for breast cancer treatment. However, many of these natural products suffered from the limitations of poor water solubility and possess toxic side effects. To overcome these limitations, several structural analogs of natural products have been synthesized and possess potent anti-breast cancer effects with less side effects over their precursor molecules. In the present manuscript, we describe the pathogenesis of breast cancer, some potent natural products used in the treatment of breast cancer and their selected structural analogs possessing potent anti-breast cancer effects. Database such as Science direct, Pubmed and Google scholar were searched using keywords 'risk factors', 'screening methods','receptors', and 'natural products and derivatives', Registered clinical trials on selected natural products were also analyzed. Present study concludes that eight selected natural products and their derivatives possess wide potential to exhibit anti-breast cancer effects and could be explored further to develop better chemotherapeutic agents against breast cancer.

Abstract
Preterm birth (PTB) is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality in young children. Infection is a major cause of this adverse outcome, particularly in PTBs characterised by spontaneous rupture of membranes, referred to as spontaneous (s)PTB. However, the aetiology of sPTB is not well defined and specific bacteria associated with sPTB differ between studies and at the individual level. This may be due to many factors including a lack of understanding of strain-level differences in bacteria that influence how they function and interact with each other and the host. Metaproteomics and metabolomics are mass spectrometry-based methods that enable the collection of detailed microbial and host functional information. Technological advances in this field have dramatically increased the resolution of these approaches, enabling the simultaneous detection of thousands of proteins or metabolites. These data can be used for taxonomic analysis of vaginal bacteria and other microbes, to understand microbiome-host interactions, and identify diagnostic biomarkers or therapeutic targets. Although these methods have been used to assess host proteins and metabolites, few have characterized the microbial compartment in the context of pregnancy. The utilisation of metaproteomic and metabolomic-based approaches has the potential to vastly improve our understanding of the mechanisms leading to sPTB.

Abstract
Primary osteosarcoma of the uterus is an extremely rare pure heterologous sarcoma of the uterus. The relevant available information is limited to case reports. To date, only 31 cases of this type of cancer have been reported. Here, we report the first clinical experience with the administration of an immunotherapy-based combination regimen for multiple metastatic primary osteosarcomas of the uterus. The patient had undergone multiple treatments prior to this regimen, but her condition continued to progress. However, after 3 cycles of immunotherapy combined with targeted therapy and chemotherapy, a review showed that the disease was stable and even in partial remission. The patient has a good quality of life, and long-term survival is expected.

Abstract
An ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) was developed for the simultaneous quantitation of doxorubicin (DOX) and sorafenib (SOR) in rat plasma. Chromatographic separation was performed using a reversed-phase column C18 (1.7 μm, 1.0 × 100 mm Acquity UPLC BEH™). The gradient mobile phase system consisted of water containing 0.1% acetic acid (mobile phase A) and methanol (mobile phase B) with a flow rate of 0.40 mL/min over 8 min. Erlotinib (ERL) was used as an internal standard (IS). The quantitation of conversion of [M + H]+, which was the protonated precursor ion, to the corresponding product ions was performed using multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) with a mass-to-charge ratio (m/z) of 544 > 397.005 for DOX, 465.05 > 252.03 for SOR, and 394 > 278 for the IS. Different parameters were used to validate the method including accuracy, precision, linearity, and stability. The developed UPLC-MS/MS method was linear over the concentration ranges of 9-2000 ng/mL and 7-2000 ng/mL with LLOQ of 9 and 7 ng/mL for DOX and SOR, respectively. The intra-day and inter-day accuracy, expressed as % relative standard deviation (RSD%), was below 10% for both DOX and SOR in all QC samples that have drug concentrations above the LLOQ. The intra-day and inter-day precision, expressed as percent relative error (Er %), was within the limit of 15.0% for all concentrations above LLOQ. Four groups of Wistar rats (250-280 g) were used to conduct the pharmacokinetic study. Group I received a single intraperitoneal (IP) injection of DOX (5 mg/kg); Group II received a single oral dose of SOR (40 mg/kg), Group III received a combination of both drugs; and Group IV received sterile water for injection IP and 0.9% w/v sodium chloride solution orally to serve as a control. Non-compartmental analysis was used to calculate the different pharmacokinetic parameters. Data revealed that coadministration of DOX and SOR altered some of the pharmacokinetic parameters of both agents and resulted in an increase in the Cmax and AUC and reduction in the apparent clearance (CL/F). In conclusion, our newly developed method is sensitive, specific, and can reliably be used to simultaneously determine DOX and SOR concentrations in rat plasma. Moreover, the results of the pharmacokinetic study suggest that coadministration of DOX and SOR might cause an increase in exposure of both drugs.

Abstract
Melanoma is an aggressive skin cancer. Increasing evidence has shown the role of β-adrenergic receptors in the pathogenesis of melanoma. Carvedilol is a widely used non-selective β-AR antagonist with potential anticancer activity. The purpose of the study was to estimate the influence of carvedilol and sorafenib alone and in combination on the growth and inflammatory response of C32 and A2058 melanoma cells. Furthermore, this study also aimed to predict the probable interaction of carvedilol and sorafenib when administered together. Predictive study of the interaction of carvedilol and sorafenib was performed using the ChemDIS-Mixture system. Carvedilol and sorafenib alone and in combination showed a growth inhibitory effect on cells. The greatest synergistic antiproliferative effect on both cell lines was observed at Car 5 μM combined with Sor 5 μM. Analysis in silico identified diseases, proteins, and metabolic pathways that can be affected by the interaction of carvedilol and sorafenib. The results obtained demonstrated that carvedilol and sorafenib modulated the secretion of IL-8 by IL-1β-stimulated by melanoma cell lines but the use of a combination of both drugs did not intensify the effect. In summary, the results presented indicate that the combination of carvedilol and sorafenib may have a promising anticancer effect on melanoma cells.

Abstract
Immuno-oncology has revolutionized cancer treatment and has opened up new opportunities for developing vaccination methods. DNA-based cancer vaccines have emerged as a promising approach to activating the bodily immune system against cancer. Plasmid DNA immunizations have shown a favorable safety profile and there occurs induction of generalized as well as tailored immune responses in preclinical and early-phase clinical experiments. However, these vaccines have notable limitations in immunogenicity and heterogeneity and these require refinements. DNA vaccine technology has been focusing on improving vaccine efficacy and delivery, with parallel developments in nanoparticle-based delivery systems and gene-editing technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9. This approach has showcased great promise in enhancing and tailoring the immune response to vaccination. Strategies to enhance the efficacy of DNA vaccines include the selection of appropriate antigens, optimizing insertion in a plasmid, and studying combinations of vaccines with conventional strategies and targeted therapies. Combination therapies have attenuated immunosuppressive activities in the tumor microenvironment and enhanced the capability of immune cells. This review provides an overview of the current framework of DNA vaccines in oncology and focuses on novel strategies, including established combination therapies and those still under development.The challenges that oncologists, scientists, and researchers need to overcome to establish DNA vaccines as an avant-garde approach to defeating cancer, are also emphasized. The clinical implications of the immunotherapeutic approaches and the need for predictive biomarkers have also been reviewed upon. We have also tried to extend the role of Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) to the DNA vaccines. The clinical implications of the immunotherapeutic approaches have also been reviewed upon. Ultimately, refining and optimizing DNA vaccines will enable harnessing the immune system's natural ability to recognize and eliminate cancer cells, leading the world towards a revolution in cancer cure.

Abstract
Assisted reproductive technology is a crucial factor that increases the incidence of monozygotic twinning in humans. This article discusses the impact of various indicators in assisted reproductive technology studies on pregnancy outcomes, especially studies with a large number of clinical cases. Furthermore, three rare cases in multiples pregnancy are discussed: fetus papyraceous of a pair of male monozygotic twins in a set of triplets, two pairs of sesquizygotic twins with sex-discordance, and rare conjoined triplets.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION A congenital intrathoracic kidney (ITK) is a rare anomaly that is recognized to have four causes: renal ectopia with an intact diaphragm, diaphragmatic eventration, diaphragmatic hernia, and traumatic diaphragmatic rupture. We report a case of a prenatal-diagnosed ITK related to a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH) and conducted a systematic review of all cases of the prenatal diagnosis of this association. CASE PRESENTATION A fetal ultrasound scan at 22 gestational weeks showed left CDH and ITK, hyperechoic left lung parenchyma, and mediastinal shift. The fetal echocardiography and karyotype were normal. Magnetic resonance imaging at 30 gestational weeks confirmed the ultrasound suspicion of left CDH in association with bowel and left kidney herniation. The fetal growth, amniotic fluid, and Doppler indices remained within the normal range over time. The woman delivered the newborn via an at-term spontaneous vaginal delivery. The newborn was stabilized and underwent non-urgent surgical correction; the postoperative course was uneventful. CONCLUSIONS CDH is the rarest cause of ITK; we found only eleven cases describing this association. The mean gestational age at diagnosis was 29 ± 4 weeks and 4 days. There were seven cases of right and four cases of left CDH. There were associated anomalies in only three fetuses. All women delivered live babies, the herniated kidneys showed no functional damage after their surgical correction, and the prognosis was favorable after surgical repair. The prenatal diagnosis and counseling of this condition are important in planning adequate prenatal and postnatal management in order to improve neonatal outcomes.

Abstract
Breast tumors are highly vascularized and dependent on angiogenesis for growth, progression and metastasis. Like other solid tumors, vasculature in breast tumors also display leaky and tortuous phenotype and hence inhibit immune cell infiltration, show reduced efficacy to anticancer drugs and radiotherapy. Epigenetic reprogramming including significant alterations in DNA methylation in tumor and stromal cells generate an imbalance in expression of pro- and anti-angiogenic factors and subsequently lead to disordered angiogenesis. Hence, understanding DNA methylation-based regulation of angiogenesis in breast tumors may open new avenues for designing therapeutic targets. Our present review manuscript summarized contemporary knowledge of influence of DNA methylation in regulating angiogenesis. Further, we identified novel set of pro-angiogenic genes enriched in endothelial cells which are coregulated with DNMT isoforms in breast tumors and harboring CpG islands. Our analysis revealed promoters of pro-angiogenic genes were hypomethylated and anti-angiogenic genes were hypermethylated in tumors and further reflected on their expression patterns. Interestingly, promoter DNA methylation intensities of novel set of pro-angiogenic genes significantly correlated to patient survival outcome.
