Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW This paper is an update of the publications on Transitional Pain Services and explores the viability of a dedicated transitional pain service for women. RECENT FINDINGS We address common pain pathologies establishing referral criteria, pathways, and effective strategies to decrease chronification of pain during pregnancy. SUMMARY This review highlights the importance establishing transitional pain service models at every institution and in particular in obstetric population as pain is normalized by Society during pregnancy.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to compare the sexual function of women with and without pregnancy-related PGP, and to investigate its relationship with physical activity (PA), kinesiophobia, and body image (BI). Demographic characteristics, sexual function (Pregnancy Sexual Response Inventory), PA (Pregnancy Physical Activity Questionnaire), kinesiophobia (Tampa Kinesiophobia Scale), and BI (Body Image in Pregnancy Scale) of 125 pregnant women were recorded. In the PGP group (n = 46), visual analogue scales were used to assess the pain intensity during resting and sexual activity, and Pelvic Girdle Questionnaire was used to evaluate the activity limitation. Although total sexual function and BI scores of the groups were similar (p > 0.05), dyspareunia during pregnancy and level of kinesiophobia were higher, and energy expenditure during moderate-intensity PA was lower in pregnant women with PGP (p < 0.05). The PGP group had moderate activity limitation and reported increased PGP intensity during sexual activities (p < 0.001). PA level was significantly correlated with sexual desire (r = 0.180), and overall sexual function was correlated with kinesiophobia (r = -0.344) and BI (r = -0.199) during pregnancy (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that pregnant women with PGP are more vulnerable to sexual dysfunctions, and there is a need to develop biopsychosocial framework-oriented management strategies which aim to improve PA level and to eliminate psychological factors such as kinesiophobia and negative BI.Clinical Trial Registration: NCT05990361.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pelvic pain worsened by orgasm is a poorly understood symptom in patients with endometriosis. AIM To assess the prevalence of pelvic pain worsened by orgasm in patients with endometriosis and explore its association with potential etiologic factors, including pelvic floor myalgia, uterine tenderness and adenomyosis, and central nervous system sensitization. METHODS An analysis was done of a prospective data registry based at a tertiary referral center for endometriosis. Eligible participants were patients aged 18 to 50 years who were referred between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2019, diagnosed with endometriosis, and subsequently underwent surgery at the center. Clinical features were compared between participants reporting worsening pelvic pain with orgasm and those without worsening pain with orgasm, including patient-reported variables, physical examination findings, and anatomic phenotyping at the time of surgery. Pelvic floor myalgia and uterine tenderness were assessed by palpation on pelvic examination, adenomyosis by ultrasound, and central nervous system sensitization via the Central Sensitization Inventory (range, 0-100). OUTCOMES Outcomes included pelvic or lower abdominal pain in the last 3 months that worsened with orgasm (yes/no). RESULTS Among 358 participants with endometriosis, 14% (49/358) reported pain worsened by orgasm while 86% (309/358) did not. Pain with orgasm was significantly associated with pelvic floor myalgia (55% [27/49] vs 35% [109/309]; Cohen's h = 0.40, P = .01) and higher scores on the Central Sensitization Inventory (mean ± SD, 53.3 ± 17.0 vs 42.7 ± 18.2; Cohen's d = 0.60, P < .001) but not with uterine tenderness or adenomyosis. Other clinical features associated with pain with orgasm were poorer sexual health (higher scores: deep dyspareunia, Cohen's h = 0.60; superficial dyspareunia, Cohen's h = 0.34; and Female Sexual Distress Scale-Revised, Cohen's d = 0.68; all P < .05) and poorer mental health (higher scores: Patient Health Questionnaire-9, 12.9 ± 6.7 vs 9.1 ± 6.3, Cohen's d = 0.59, P < .001; Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7, 9.4 ± 5.6 vs 6.8 ± 5.5, Cohen's d = 0.48, P = .002). Anatomic findings at the time of surgery did not significantly differ between the groups. CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS Interventions targeting pelvic floor myalgia and central nervous system sensitization may help alleviate pain worsened by orgasm in patients with endometriosis. STRENGTHS AND LIMITATIONS A strength is that pain worsened by orgasm was differentiated from dyspareunia. However, pain with orgasm was assessed by only a binary question (yes/no). Also, the study is limited to a single center, and there were limited data on sexual function. CONCLUSION Pelvic pain exacerbated by orgasm in people with endometriosis may be related to concurrent pelvic floor myalgia and central sensitization.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Investigate effects of integrated training for pelvic floor muscles (PFM) with and without transabdominal ultrasonography (TAUS) imaging-guided biofeedback in postpartum women with pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP). DESIGN Three-arm, single-blinded randomized controlled trial SETTING: University laboratory PARTICIPANTS: Fifty-three postpartum women with PPGP randomized into stabilization exercise with TAUS-guided biofeedback (BIO+EXE), exercise (EXE), and control (CON) groups. INTERVENTIONS The BIO+EXE and EXE groups underwent an 8-week exercise program, with the BIO+EXE group receiving additional TAUS-guided biofeedback for PFM training during the first 4 weeks. The CON group only received a pelvic educational session. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES Primary outcomes included self-reported pain (numeric rating scale) and disability (pelvic girdle questionnaire). Secondary outcomes included functional tests (active straight leg raising [ASLR] fatigue, timed up-and-go, and 6-meter walking tests) and muscle contractibility indicated by muscle thickness changes for abdominal muscles and bladder base displacement for PFM (ultrasonographic measures). RESULTS The BIO+EXE group had lower pain [1.8 (1.5) vs. 4.4 (1.5), mean difference -2.6, 95% confidence interval (CI) -3.9 to -1.2] and disability [14% (10) vs. 28% (21), mean difference -14, 95% CI -25 to -2] and faster walking speed [3.1 seconds (1) vs. 3.3 seconds (1), mean difference -0.2, 95% CI -1.0 to -0.2] than the CON group. The EXE group only had lower pain intensity compared to the CON group [2.7 (2.0) vs. 4.4 (1.5), mean difference -1.7, 95% CI -3.1 to -0.4]. No significant differences were observed among groups in timed up-and-go, ASLR fatigue, or muscle contractibility. CONCLUSIONS Integrated training for PFM and stabilization with TAUS-guided biofeedback seems to be beneficial for reducing pain and disability in postpartum women with PPGP. Abstract
OBJECTIVE In this study, we aimed to investigate whether multi-segment fusion or fusion-to-sacrum increases sacroiliac joint (SIJ) pathology compared with single-segment fusion or a non-fused sacrum. METHODS This study included 116 patients who underwent lumbar or lumbosacral fusion and were followed up for 2 years. The patients were classified into single-segment fusion (n = 46) and multi-segment fusion (more than two levels, n = 70) groups and then reclassified into the non-fused sacrum (n = 68) and fusion-to-sacrum groups (n = 48). Preoperative and postoperative radiographs were used to evaluate radiographic parameters, and computed tomography (CT) was used to evaluate SIJ degeneration. Low back pain (LBP) was assessed using a visual analog scale (VAS, 0-10). Baseline and postoperative values were compared using a paired sample t-test. RESULTS LBP VAS scores significantly differed at 6 months (single-segment fusion, 3.04±1.88; multi-segment fusion, 4.83±2.33; P < 0.001) and 2 years postoperatively (single-segment fusion, 3.3±2.2; multi-segment fusion, 4.78±2.59; P = 0.094). There was no significant difference in SIJ degeneration, as assessed by CT scan, between the 2 surgical groups: 14 (30%) and 19 (27%) patients in the single-segment and multi-segment (P = 0.701) fusion groups, respectively. The LBP VAS scale showed comparable differences at 1 (non-fused sacrum, 3±2.18; fusion-to-sacrum, 3.74±2.28; P = 0.090) and 2 years postoperatively (non-fused sacrum, 3.29±2.01; fusion-to-sacrum, 4.66±2.71; P = 0.095). CT scan revealed that 18 (26%) and 15 (31%) patients in the non-fused sacrum and fusion-to-sacrum groups, respectively, developed SIJ arthritis; however, there was no significant intergroup difference (P = 0.574). CONCLUSIONS SIJ degeneration occurs independent of the number of fused segments or sacrum involvement.

Abstract
Background and Aims Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP) is estimated to affect between 20% and 70% of pregnant women with 10% experiencing it for more than 3 months postpartum. Women may also experience depression during this period. Understanding the prevalence of depression in women with PPGP is important to inform clinical management. This systematic review aimed to examine the prevalence of depression in women with PPGP in the antepartum and postpartum periods. Methods A systematic review and meta-analysis. Seven databases were searched from inception until May 24, 2023, combining keywords relating to pelvic girdle pain (PGP), depression, and pregnancy. Two investigators independently screened study titles and abstracts against the eligibility criteria, extracting data characteristics of all included studies. Included articles were assessed for risk of bias. Summary estimates of the prevalence of depression were calculated with a random effects meta-analysis (stratified by antepartum and postpartum periods). Results Eleven studies (3172 participants) were included with nine suitable for meta-analysis. The overall summary estimate of prevalence of depression among women with PPGP was 24% (95% confidence interval [CI] = 15%-37%), with significant heterogeneity between studies (I 2 = 97%, p < 0.01). Among individual studies, the estimates ranged from 18% to 48% in the antepartum PGP population and from 5% to 39% in the postpartum PGP population. The summary estimate in the antepartum group was 37% (95% CI = 19%-59%; prediction interval 8%-81%) and 15% (95% CI = 7%-30%; prediction interval 3%-56%) in the postpartum group, although time (antepartum vs. postpartum) did not have a statistically significant moderating effect (p = 0.06). Two thirds of the studies were undertaken with Scandinavian populations, limiting the generalizability of these findings. Conclusion Summary estimates for the prevalence of depression in women with PPGP are similar to previous studies investigating depression in the general peri-natal population.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The influence of pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP) on lumbopelvic muscles has not been comprehensively examined in postpartum individuals. Previous research also presented self-reported activity limitations without objective measures. METHODS Thirty postpartum individuals with PPGP (PPGP group) and 30 age-, parity-, and postpartum duration-matched asymptomatic individuals (healthy group) were recruited. Transabdominal ultrasonography was used to measure muscle thickness or activation changes of the external oblique (EO), internal oblique (IO), transverse abdominals, lumbar multifidus, and pelvic floor muscles (PFMs) during rest and while performing the active straight leg raise (ASLR). Muscle changes were compared separately in the painful and nonpainful sides between the PPGP and health control group. Physical function was assessed using the ASLR fatigue (ASLRF), timed up-and-go, and 6-m walking (6MW) tests. RESULTS The PPGP group had greater thickening changes in the bilateral IO during ASLR compared with the healthy group (nonpainful side, 16.34 vs 3.52 mm; P = .010; painful side, 18.83 vs 6.60 mm; P = .02) but became thinner in the EO (nonpainful side, -2.19 vs 19.97 mm; P < .001; painful side, -5.97 vs 21.43 mm; P < .001). Thicker IO and EO on the nonpainful side (IO, 6.60 vs 5.78 mm; P = .004; EO, 5.37 vs 4.54 mm; P = .011) and a lower bladder base (indication of PFMs) (91.87 vs 78.61 mm; P = .002) during rest were also observed in the PPGP group. Furthermore, the performance of the ASLRF and 6MW tests was poorer in the PPGP than in the healthy group (ASLRF nonpainful side, 82.36 vs 59.09 sec; P = .01; painful side, 75.73 vs 59.26 sec; P = .04; 6MW, 3.48 vs 3.17 sec; P = .02). DISCUSSION Postpartum individuals with PPGP demonstrated altered abdominal muscle recruitment strategies during loading tasks, with objectively impaired physical functions. These findings are critical for developing effective muscle training interventions for PPGP.

Abstract
During pregnancy, biomechanical changes are observed due to hormonal and physical modifications, which can lead to alterations in the curvature of the spine, balance, gait patterns, and functionality of the pelvic floor muscles. This study aimed to investigate the progressive impact of biomechanical changes that occur during gestational weeks on the myoelectric activity of the pelvic floor muscles, plantar contact area, and functional mobility of high-risk pregnant women. METHODS This was a cross-sectional observational study carried out from November 2022 to March 2023. A total of 62 pregnant women of different gestational ages with high-risk pregnancies were analyzed using surface electromyography to assess the functionality of the pelvic floor muscles, plantigraphy (Staheli index and plantar contact area), and an accelerometer and gyroscope using the timed up and go test via an inertial sensor on a smartphone. Descriptive statistics and multivariate linear regression analyses were carried out to test the predictive value of the signature. RESULTS Increasing weeks of gestation resulted in a decrease in the RMS value (β = -0.306; t = -2.284; p = 0.026) according to the surface electromyography analyses. However, there was no association with plantar contact (F (4.50) = 0.697; p = 0.598; R2 = 0.53). With regard to functional mobility, increasing weeks of gestation resulted in a decrease in time to standing (β = -0.613; t = -2.495; p = 0.016), time to go (β = -0.513; t = -2.264; p = 0.028), and first gyrus peak (β = -0.290; t = -2.168; p = 0.035). However, there was an increase in the time to come back (β = 0.453; t = 2.321; p = 0.025) as the number of gestational weeks increased. CONCLUSIONS Increased gestational age is associated with a reduction in pelvic floor myoelectric activity. The plantar contact area did not change over the weeks. Advancing gestation was accompanied by a decrease in time to standing, time to go, and first gyrus peak, as well as an increase in time to come back.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE A decline in musculoskeletal health during pregnancy is an underappreciated adverse outcome of pregnancy that can have immediate and long-term health consequences. High physical job demands are known risk factors for nontraumatic musculoskeletal disorders in the general working population. Evidence from meta-analyses suggest that occupational lifting and prolonged standing during pregnancy may increase risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes. This systematic review examined associations between occupational lifting or postural load in pregnancy and associated musculoskeletal disorders and related sequalae. DATA SOURCES Five electronic databases (Medline, Embase, CINAHL, NIOSHTIC-2, and Ergonomic Abstracts) were searched from 1990 to July 2022 for studies in any language. A Web of Science snowball search was performed in December 2022. Reference lists were manually reviewed. STUDY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Eligible studies reported associations between occupational lifting or postural load and musculoskeletal health or sequelae (eg, employment outcomes) among pregnant and postpartum workers. METHODS Data were extracted using a customized form to document study and sample characteristics; and details of exposures, outcomes, covariates, and analyses. Investigators independently assessed study quality for 7 risk-of-bias domains and overall utility, with discrepant ratings resolved through discussion. A narrative synthesis was conducted due to heterogeneity. RESULTS Sixteen studies (11 cohort studies, 2 nested case-control studies, and 3 cross-sectional studies) from 8 countries were included (N=142,320 pregnant and N=1744 postpartum workers). Limited but consistent evidence with variable quality ratings, ranging from critical concern to high, suggests that pregnant workers exposed to heavy lifting (usually defined as ≥22 lbs or ≥10 kg) may be at increased risk of functionally limiting pelvic girdle pain and antenatal leave. Moreover, reports of dose-response relationships suggest graded risk levels according to lifting frequency, ranging from 21% to 45% for pelvic girdle pain and 58% to 202% for antenatal leave. Limited but consistent evidence also suggests that postural load increases the risk of employment cessation. CONCLUSION Limited but consistent evidence suggests that pregnant workers exposed to heavy lifting and postural load are at increased risk of pelvic girdle pain and employment cessation. Job accommodations to reduce exposure levels may promote safe sustainable employment for pregnant workers.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To co-create expert guidelines for the management of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery in the context of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD). DESIGN Scoping Review and Expert Co-creation. SETTING United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, France, Sweden, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. SAMPLE Co-creators (n = 15) included expertise from patients and clinicians from the International Consortium on the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders, facilitated by the Ehlers-Danlos Society. METHODS A scoping review using Embase, Medline, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials and CINHAL was conducted from May 2022 to September 2023. Articles were included if they reported primary research findings in relation to childbearing with hEDS/HSD, including case reports. No language limitations were placed on our search, and our team had the ability to translate and screen articles retrieved in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, Danish, German, and Portuguese. The Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool was used to assess bias and quality appraise articles selected. The co-creation of guidelines was based on descriptive evidence synthesis along with practical and clinical experience supported by patient and public involvement activities. RESULTS Primary research studies (n = 14) and case studies (n = 21) including a total of 1,260,317 participants informed the co-creation of guidelines in four overarching categories: 1) Preconceptual: conception and screening, 2) Antenatal: risk assessment, management of miscarriage and termination of pregnancy, gastrointestinal issues and mobility, 3) Intrapartum: risk assessment, birth choices (mode of birth and intended place of birth), mobility in labor and anesthesia, and 4) Postpartum: wound healing, pelvic health, care of the newborn and infant feeding. Guidelines were also included in relation to pain management, mental health, nutrition and the common co-morbidities of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, other forms of dysautonomia, and mast cell diseases. CONCLUSIONS There is limited high quality evidence available. Individualized strategies are proposed for the management of childbearing people with hEDS/HSD throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. A multidisciplinary approach is advised to address frequently seen issues in this population such as tissue fragility, joint hypermobility, and pain, as well as common comorbidities, including dysautonomia and mast cell diseases.

Abstract
Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) is a common problem during pregnancy and postpartum and negatively affects women's well-being. Yet it is not well known in China. This study assessed PGP's intensity, location, and quality and the status of daily activities on postpartum women with pain, and explored the relationship between pain and the prevalence of depressive symptoms. A cross-sectional study recruiting 1,038 eligible women at 6 weeks postpartum from the obstetric clinic of a hospital was conducted in Beijing, China. Data were collected using self-reported questionnaires, including Introductory information form, Body chart, Number Rating Scale, McGill Pain Questionnaire-2, Pelvic Girdle Questionnaire, and Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. In this study, 32.2 percent women experienced pain. The mean (SD) pain intensity score was 3.07 ± 1.60. About 50.6 percent women experienced sacroiliac joint pain, and 25.5 percent women experienced pain in a combination of locations. About 73.1 percent women experienced aching pain, and 57.5 percent experienced more than one kind of pain quality. The mean total score, which assesses activity and symptom limitations, was 21.93 ± 17.35 (percent), of which a normal sex life (1.29 ± 0.94) was made more challenging due to pain. In mental health, the prevalence of depressive symptoms coincided with the prevalence of pain (p = 0.008). Postpartum PGP still needs to be taken seriously, and women with pain require further support. The above knowledge offers information to manage pain, daily lives and depressive symptoms, contributes to think about strategies to better promote postpartum women physical and mental health in the future.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION During pregnancy, many changes in the musculoskeletal system and pregnancy-related disorders affect posture and postural stability. Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP) is a common disorder in pregnancy; the cause remains unknown. The purpose of the present study was to determine if PPGP affects static postural stability and its relation to the stage of pregnancy. METHODS Sixty-three pregnant women between the ages of 18 and 45 and between the 12th and 38th weeks of gestation were included in the study. They were divided into four groups according on the trimester and the presence of PPGP. Static balance was assessed using a force plate on firm and compliant surfaces with eyes open and closed. RESULTS Pregnant women with PPGP had significantly (p < 0.05) greater centre-of-pressure velocity and sway area compared to pregnant women without PPGP, especially in the third trimester of pregnancy. In the second trimester, only two significant differences in COP parameters were observed between pregnant women with and without PPGP. Pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy had significantly (p < 0.05) greater centre-of-pressure velocity and larger postural sway area compared to pregnant women in the second trimester of pregnancy, regardless of PPGP. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION Pregnant women with PPGP had poorer static stability when compared to pregnant women without pain, especially in the third trimester of pregnancy. The cause could be found in the poorer ability to stabilise the trunk and pelvis, poorer proprioception, and issues with automatic movement patterns.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Accurate identification of pain generators in the context of low back and spine-related pain is crucial for effective treatment. This review aims to evaluate the potential usefulness of single photon emission computed tomography with computed tomography (SPECT/CT) as an imaging modality in guiding clinical decision-making. METHODS A broad scoping literature review was conducted to identify relevant studies evaluating the use of SPECT/CT in patients with spine-related pain. Studies were reviewed for their methodology and results. RESULTS SPECT/CT appears to have advantages over traditional modalities, such as magnetic resonance imaging and CT, in certain clinical scenarios. It may offer additional information to clinicians and improve the specificity of diagnosis. However, further studies are needed to fully assess its diagnostic accuracy and clinical utility. CONCLUSIONS SPECT/CT is a promising imaging modality in the evaluation of low back pain, particularly in cases where magnetic resonance imaging and CT are inconclusive or equivocal. However, the current level of evidence is limited, and additional research is needed to determine its overall clinical relevance. CLINICAL RELEVANCE SPECT/CT may have a significant impact on clinical decision-making, particularly in cases in which traditional imaging modalities fail to provide a clear diagnosis. Its ability to improve specificity could lead to more targeted and effective treatment for patients with spinal pathology. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE: 4

Abstract
It seems puzzling why humans have evolved such a small and rigid birth canal that entails a relatively complex process of labor compared with the birth canal of our closest relatives, the great apes. This study reviewed insights into the evolution of the human birth canal from recent theoretical and empirical studies and discussed connections to obstetrics, gynecology, and orthopedics. Originating from the evolution of bipedality and the large human brain million years ago, the evolution of the human birth canal has been characterized by complex trade-off dynamics among multiple biological, environmental, and sociocultural factors. The long-held notion that a wider pelvis has not evolved because it would be disadvantageous for bipedal locomotion has not yet been empirically verified. However, recent clinical and biomechanical studies suggest that a larger birth canal would compromise pelvic floor stability and increase the risk of incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. Several mammals have neonates that are equally large or even larger than human neonates compared to the size of the maternal birth canal. In these species, the pubic symphysis opens widely to allow successful delivery. Biomechanical and developmental constraints imposed by bipedality have hindered this evolutionary solution in humans and led to the comparatively rigid pelvic girdle in pregnant women. Mathematical models have shown why the evolutionary compromise to these antagonistic selective factors inevitably involves a certain rate of fetopelvic disproportion. In addition, these models predict that cesarean deliveries have disrupted the evolutionary equilibrium and led to new and ongoing evolutionary changes. Different forms of assisted birth have existed since the stone age and have become an integral part of human reproduction. Paradoxically, by buffering selection, they may also have hindered the evolution of a larger birth canal. Many of the biological, environmental, and sociocultural factors that have influenced the evolution of the human birth canal vary globally and are subject to ongoing transitions. These differences may have contributed to the global variation in the form of the birth canal and the difficulty of labor, and they likely continue to change human reproductive anatomy.

Background Pregnancy-related Pelvic Girdle Pain (PPGP) is a prevalent condition characterized by various physiological and pathological processes in the female body. The objective of this study is to offer a comprehensive understanding of the current research landscape, key areas of interest, and potential future directions in the field of PPGP. Methods Using Web of Science, we explored PPGP literature from 2002 to 2022. VOSviewer and CiteSpace facilitated a quantitative analysis, revealing co-authorship patterns, co-occurring themes, citations, and co-citations. Results We identified, peaking at 99 publications in 2021. The United States led with 138 publications and the highest citation count (3160). The Karolinska Institute boasted the highest tally of publications (n = 21). Regarding the volume of publications, the esteemed journal of BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth attained the foremost position. Notably, Gutke, Annelie emerged as the most prolific and highly cited author. The analysis of keyword co-occurrence and co-citation clustering unveiled an intricate tapestry of PPGP studies, spanning various domains including risk factors, mechanistic intricacies, diagnostic benchmark, treatment modalities, and far-reaching ramifications on one's quality of life. Conclusion Research endeavors exploring PPGP have unveiled an enduring trajectory of growth in contemporary times. The existing body of research primarily focuses on delving into the intricate interplay of epidemiological factors and the profound implications of interventions encompassing physical therapy, exercise protocols, and diverse modes of pain management within the domain of PPGP. Multidisciplinary integration encapsulates a prevailing trajectory of progress within this domain, while the focal point of future inquiries into PPGP may revolve around subjects pertaining to standardized outcome reporting.

Abstract
Purpose To report the development of a new sacroiliac joint (SIJ) arthrodesis system that can be used for isolated fusion of the SIJ and, unlike known implant systems, in combination with lumbar instrumentation or as an alternative to existing sacropelvic fixation (SPF) methods, and the patient-reported outcomes in two cases. Materials and Methods After a comprehensive review of 207 pelvic computed tomography (CT) datasets, an implant body was designed. Its shape was modeled based on the SIJ recess. A screw anchored in the ilium secures the position of the implant and allows connection to lumbar instrumentation. Two patients with confirmed SIJ syndrome underwent surgery with the anatomically adapted implant. They were evaluated preoperatively, 6 months, and 12 months postoperatively. Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), Million Visual Analogue Scale (MVAS), Roland Morris Score (RMS), reduction of SIJ/leg pain, and work status were assessed. Bony fusion of the SIJ was evaluated by radiographs and CT 12 months after the procedure. Results Analysis of pelvic CT data revealed a wedge-shaped implant body in four different sizes. In the two patients, VAS decreased from 88 to 33 points, ODI improved from 67 to 35%, MVAS decreased from 80 to 36%, and RMS decreased from 18 to 9 points 12 months after surgery. SIJ pain reduction was 80% and 90%, respectively. Follow-up CT and radiographs showed solid bony integration. Conclusion The implant used takes into account the unique anatomy of the SIJ and also meets the requirements of a true arthrodesis. Initial results in two patients are promising. Biomechanical and clinical studies will have to show whether the considerable theoretical advantages of the new implant system over existing SIJ implants - in particular the possibility of connection to a lumbar stabilization system - and SPFs can be put into practice.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Lumbopelvic pain (LPP) is common in pregnant women and has a significant negative effect on physical and psychological health. In this study, for the first time, we conduct a meta-analysis to estimate the overall prevalence of LPP among pregnant women and clarify the reasons for the differences in the estimated results. MATERIAL AND METHODS A systematic search of four databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials) was conducted from inception until October 2022. Two reviewers conducted a methodological quality assessment. Random-effects model analysis was used to estimate the pooled prevalence and the 95% confidence interval. Chi-square tests and I2 -values were used to assess the heterogeneity. Subgroup analysis (according to the participants' continent, age, body mass index [BMI], gestational age and study risk of bias), sensitivity analysis and random-effects meta-regression were used to explore the the sources of heterogeneity. RESULTS Of the 1661 unique citations, 38 studies (21 533 pregnant participants) were included in this systematic review and meta-analysis. The overall pooled prevalence of LPP during pregnancy was 63% (95% CI: 0.57 to 0.69), with significant heterogeneity (I2 = 99.1%, P < 0.001). The prevalence differed by participants' continents, 71% (North America), 74% (South America), 63% (Asia), 64% (Europe), 59% (Africa) and 45% (Oceania). The prevalence differed by BMI, 64% (BMI <25), 64% (25 ≤ BMI ≤ 28), and 71% (BMI >28). The prevalence differed by age, 72% (age <25 years), 58% (25 ≤ age ≤ 30 years), and 69% (age >30 years). The prevalence were the same differed by study risk of bias, 63% (both low and moderate risk of bias studies). The prevalence were similar by gestational age, 62% (second trimester) and 63% (third trimester). CONCLUSIONS Lumbopelvic pain during pregnancy is common; about three-fifths of pregnant women experience LPP. More prevention and intervention research for lumbopelvic should be conducted in pregnant women with different clinical characteristics.

Abstract
Background Minimally invasive fusion of the sacroiliac joint as treatment for low back pain may reduce pain and improve function compared to non-operative treatment, although clear evidence is lacking. The aim of this trial was to evaluate the effect of minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion compared to sham surgery on sacroiliac joint pain reduction. Methods In this double-blind randomized sham surgery-controlled trial patients with clinical diagnosis of sacroiliac joint pain confirmed with sacroiliac joint injection were included at two university hospitals in Sweden and Norway. Patients were randomized by the operating surgeon at each site to minimally invasive sacroiliac joint fusion or sham surgery. The primary endpoint was group difference in sacroiliac joint pain on the operated side at six months postoperatively, measured by the Numeric Rating Scale (0-10). Un-blinding and primary analysis were performed when all patients had completed six months follow-up. The trial is closed for new participants and was registered at clinicaltrials.gov: NCT03507049. Findings Between September 1st, 2018 and October 22nd, 2021, 63 patients were randomized, 32 to the surgical group, 31 to the sham group. Mean age was 45 years (range 26-63) and 59 of 63 (94%) patients were female. The mean reduction in the operated sacroiliac joint from baseline to six months postoperative was 2.6 Numeric Rating Scale points in the surgical group and 1.7 points in the sham group (mean between groups difference -1.0 points; 95% CI, -2.2 to 0.3; p = 0.13). Interpretation This double-blind randomized controlled trial could not prove that minimally invasive fusion of the sacroiliac joint was superior to sham surgery at six months postoperative. Abstract
BACKGROUND Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP) is common and considered a multifactorial condition with biomechanical and psychosocial contributions. The patient's perceived cause is an important aspect of illness perceptions, and a strong predictor of self-management and healthcare utilization. It is unknown what causal beliefs primiparae hold regarding PPGP. OBJECTIVE To explore and describe health and illness perceptions among primiparae towards PPGP and its cause. DESIGN Exploratory, convergent parallel mixed-methods. SETTING At the participants' homes. PARTICIPANTS Sixteen primiparae with and without PPGP. FINDINGS Primiparae with and without PPGP held comparable causal beliefs about PPGP. PPGP was described as the result of hormonal softening and loosening of the pelvis, and failure of the muscular system to compensate for that. Women who experienced similar physical symptoms attributed them differently, leading to different coping strategies. Interestingly, maternal healthcare providers reinforced the unidimensional- and predominantly biomechanical view when women sought healthcare. CONCLUSION The causal mechanism of PPGP held by the women was not determined by their lived experience. It was primarily based on the concept of inevitable hormonal softening of the pelvis. This biomechanical belief is based on theories that are not in line with current knowledge of PPGP and contemporary pain science, yet they were reinforced by maternity healthcare providers. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE Healthcare seeking behavior is influenced by illness beliefs. Maternity healthcare providers may play a key role in providing reassurance and addressing the multifactorial nature of PPGP when providing care and support to pregnant women.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Pain in the sacroiliac joint may be caused by abnormal joint motion. Diagnosis is mainly based on clinical tests. The aims of this study were to examine whether low-dose computed tomography with provocation of the hip could detect sacroiliac joint motion, and to study whether provocation of the hip results in greater sacroiliac joint motion in the ipsilateral than in the contralateral sacroiliac joint. PATIENTS AND METHODS 12 patients with sacroiliac joint pain were examined with low-dose computed tomography scans of the sacroiliac joint, one with the hips in the neutral position, and one each in provocation with the left or the right hip in a figure-of-4 position. Accuracy was tested by comparing internal rotation of the sacrum with internal rotation in the sacroiliac joint. Motion in the sacroiliac joint was assessed by comparing the position of each of the ilia with the reference, the sacrum. Data is shown as mean with 95% confidence interval (CI). RESULTS We observed greater motion in the sacroiliac joint than internally in the sacrum, i.e., 0.57° (CI 0.43-0.71) vs. 0.20° (CI 0.11-0.28). The motion of the geometric center of the moving object for the sacroiliac joint was larger on the provoked side; mean difference 0.17 mm (CI 0.01-0.33), P = 0.04. Corresponding figures for rotation were mean difference 0.19° (CI 0.10-0.28), P < 0.001. Compared with the sacrum, the largest motion was seen at the anterior superior iliac spine; mean difference 0.38 mm (CI 0.10-0.66), P = 0.001. CONCLUSION Provocation in the figure-of-4 position of the hip results in sacroiliac joint motion measurable with computed tomography motion analysis. Provocation of the hip induces larger motion on the ipsilateral than on the contralateral sacroiliac joint.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A physically active lifestyle is beneficial during pregnancy. However, little is known about physical activity (PA) behaviour and psychosocial factors in women during and after pregnancy. This study examined exercise behavioural regulation, exercise self-efficacy, health-related quality of life, sickness absence and musculoskeletal pain in pregnant women offered either structured supervised exercise training, motivational counselling on PA, or standard prenatal care in the FitMum randomised controlled trial. METHODS Two hundred and eighteen healthy inactive pregnant women were randomised to structured supervised exercise training (n = 87), motivational counselling on PA (n = 86) or standard prenatal care (n = 45). The women answered the Behavioural Regulation in Exercise Questionnaire-2 (BREQ-2), the Pregnancy Exercise Self-Efficacy Scale (P-ESES-DK) and the Short Form 36 Health Survey Questionnaire (SF-36) at baseline (gestational age (GA) of max 15 weeks), GA 28 and 34 weeks, and one year after delivery. Sickness absence and low back and/or pelvic girdle pain were likewise reported in questionnaires at baseline and GA 28 weeks. RESULTS Participants offered structured supervised exercise training or motivational counselling on PA had higher autonomous motivation for exercise during pregnancy compared with participants receiving standard prenatal care (e.g., difference in intrinsic regulation at GA 28 weeks, structured supervised exercise training vs. standard prenatal care: mean difference in score 0.39 [0.16; 0.64], p < 0.001). Participants offered structured supervised exercise training also had higher exercise self-efficacy during pregnancy (e.g., GA 28 weeks, structured supervised exercise training vs. standard prenatal care: mean difference in score 6.97 [2.05; 12.02], p = 0.005). All participants reported high exercise self-efficacy at baseline and medium exercise self-efficacy during pregnancy and one year after delivery. No differences were found between groups in health-related quality of life, sickness absence or low back and/or pelvic girdle pain during pregnancy. No group differences were found one year after delivery. CONCLUSION Structured supervised exercise training and motivational counselling on PA had important effects on autonomous exercise motivation during pregnancy. Exercise self-efficacy was also increased with structured supervised exercise training compared to standard prenatal care. No group differences in health-related quality of life, sickness absence, or pain were found during and after pregnancy. No effects were found one year post-delivery after intervention cessation. TRIAL REGISTRATION The study was approved by the Danish National Committee on Health Research Ethics (#H-18011067) and the Danish Data Protection Agency (#P-2019-512). The study adheres to the principles of the Helsinki declaration. Written informed consent was obtained at inclusion.

Abstract
Background and Objectives: To identify the most frequently reported predictive factors for the persistency of pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PPGP) at 3-6 months after childbirth in women with PPGP alone or PPGP in association with pregnancy-related lower back pain (PLBP). Methods: Eligibility criteria: Two authors independently selected studies excluding PPGP determined by a specific, traumatic, gynecological/urological cause or isolated PLBP and studies that did not include the presence/absence of PPGP as the the primary outcome. We, instead, included studies with an initial assessment in pregnancy (within 1 month of delivery) and with a follow-up of at least 3 months after delivery. Data sources: The research was performed using the databases of Medline, Cochrane, Pedro, Scopus, Web of Science and Cinahl from December 2018 to January 2022, following the indications of the PRISMA statement 2021 and the MOOSE checklist. It includes observational cohort studies in which data were often collected through prospective questionnaires (all in English). Study appraisal and risk of bias: Two independent authors performed evaluations of the risk of bias (ROB) using the quality in prognostic studies (QUIPS) tool. Synthesis of results: An in-depth qualitative analysis was conducted because, due to a high degree of heterogeneity in the data collection of the included studies and a lack of raw data suitable for quantitative analysis, it was not possible to carry out the originally planned meta-analyses for the subgroups. Results: The research process led to the inclusion of 10 articles which were evaluated using the QUIPS tool: 5 studies were evaluated as low ROB and 5 were evaluated as moderate ROB. High levels of pain in pregnancy, a large number of positive provocation tests, a history of lower back pain and lumbo-pelvic pain, high levels of disability in pregnancy, neurotic behavior and high levels of fear-avoidance belief were identified as strong predictors of long-term PPGP, while there was weak or contradictory evidence regarding predictions of emotional distress, catastrophizing and sleep disturbances. Discussion: The impossibility of carrying out the meta-analysis by subgroups suggests the need for further research with greater methodological rigor in the acquisition of measures based on an already existing PPGP core predictors/outcome sets.

Abstract
Tactile acuity is typically measured by a two-point discrimination test (TPD) and a two-point estimation task (TPE). In the back area, they are only conducted in the lumbar and cervical regions of the spine. Considering that such measurements have not been conducted in the sacral regions, the purpose of this study was to assess the inter- and intra-examiner reliability of the TPD and TPE at the level of the S3 segment. The study included 30 pain-free subjects aged 20-30 years. Tests were performed with a pair of stainless hardened digital calipers. The TPD was measured in two locations: 5 and 15 cm from the midline; for TPE both, points were located inside the measured area. Session 1 involved assessments by two examiners in 10-min intervals. Session 2 was measured by one examiner, at analogous intervals between tests. The TPD inter-rater reliability was excellent for mean measurements (ICC3.2: 0.76-0.8; ICC3.3: 0.8-0.92); the intra-rater reliability was excellent for mean measurements (ICC2.2: 0.79-0.85; ICC2.3: 0.82-0.86). The TPE inter-rater reliability was good to excellent for mean measurements (ICC3.2: 0.65-0.92; ICC3.3: 0.73-0.94); the intra-rater reliability for all studies (ICC2.1, ICC2.2, ICC2.3) was excellent (0.85-0.89). Two measurements are sufficient to achieve good reliability (ICC ≥ 0.75), regardless of the assessed body side.

Abstract
BACKGROUND We aimed to assess the prevalence of lumbopelvic pain (LPP), including low back pain (LBP) and/or pelvic girdle pain (PGP), consultation rate, and desire for treatment of postnatal Japanese women. METHODS We performed a cross-sectional study of 98 postnatal Japanese women within 1 year of childbirth. We retrospectively evaluated the prevalence of LBP before and during pregnancy and the prevalence of LPP after childbirth using a self-administered questionnaire. We used the distribution of pain to differentiate LBP and/or PGP after childbirth and its intensity was assessed using a visual analogue scale. The effects of LPP on daily life were assessed using the Oswestry disability index (ODI). In addition, we assessed the consultation rate for LPP and the desire to consult a healthcare professional, using self-administered questionnaires. RESULTS The prevalence of LPP after childbirth was 66%. Women with a history of LBP before and during pregnancy were more likely to have LPP following childbirth (both P < 0.001). The consultation rate among the postnatal women with LPP was 9%, but 56% of the women wished to consult a healthcare professional. The ODI score was significantly higher in postnatal women who wanted to consult a healthcare professional than in those who did not (P < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS Two thirds of the postnatal Japanese women who participated in this study had LPP, but the consultation rate was low. However, more than half of these women had the desire to consult a healthcare professional.

Abstract
Background: Pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain (PLPP) is a common ailment during pregnancy with physical, psychosocial, and economic consequences. Despite being common, prior literature has found that this symptom is widely underreported and therefore undertreated, especially in the United States. The objectives of this study were to determine the proportion of pregnant women who report PLPP during pregnancy to their health care providers (HCPs) and to determine what contributing factors for reporting exist. Materials and Methods: This is a cross-sectional survey design and was conducted at an academic medical center. All pregnant women attending a prenatal visit in obstetrical offices from July 2018 through March 2020 were asked to complete a questionnaire compiling demographic and socioeconomic information, answer validated survey instruments measuring physical and urinary function, and describe any pain, including intensity, frequency, and whether they told their HCPs about these symptoms and received any treatments. Results: Of the 538 respondents who had PLPP, only 43% (n = 233) reported PLPP to their provider. Of those who reported PLPP, 22% (n = 51) received treatment, of which 80% (n = 41) noted that treatment was effective. Factors that increased the likelihood of informing HCPs about PLPP were difficulty with daily mobility and a greater week of gestation. Conclusions: HCPs should inquire about PLPP throughout pregnancy. Any level of PLPP should be reported and monitored by a patient's HCP, and if it is interfering with activities of daily living, sleeping, or quality of life, it should be treated.

Abstract
Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) during pregnancy is a major source of stress for mothers. This review summarizes studies on the effectiveness of functional stability exercises (FSEs) in preventing PGP during pregnancy. FSE is a rising area of study in maternal health, focusing on core muscle groups and addressing the biomechanical changes during pregnancy. Although data shows that FSE may relieve PGP and improve the quality of life in pregnant women, the research landscape is defined by limitations and differences in intervention parameters among studies, resulting in contradictory conclusions. As a result, the efficacy of FSE in pregnant women with PGP remains inconclusive. This review can help comprise the existing research on FSE alleviating PGP in pregnancy to provide full knowledge on the topic, analyze long-term effects, and develop practice guidelines. While FSE shows promise, treating the multidimensional nature of PGP in pregnancy requires a comprehensive approach to therapy that incorporates several therapeutic modalities.

Abstract
During pregnancy, almost all women experience pregnancy-related symptoms. The relationship between symptoms and their association with pregnancy outcomes is not well understood. Many pregnancy apps allow pregnant women to track their symptoms. To date, the resulting data are primarily used from a commercial rather than a scientific perspective. In this work, we aim to examine symptom occurrence, course, and their correlation throughout pregnancy. Self-reported app data of a pregnancy symptom tracker is used. In this context, we present methods to handle noisy real-world app data from commercial applications to understand the trajectory of user and patient-reported data. We report real-world evidence from patient-reported outcomes that exceeds previous works: 1,549,186 tracked symptoms from 183,732 users of a smartphone pregnancy app symptom tracker are analyzed. The majority of users track symptoms on a single day. These data are generalizable to those users who use the tracker for at least 5 months. Week-by-week symptom report data are presented for each symptom. There are few or conflicting reports in the literature on the course of diarrhea, fatigue, headache, heartburn, and sleep problems. A peak in fatigue in the first trimester, a peak in headache reports around gestation week 15, and a steady increase in the reports of sleeping difficulty throughout pregnancy are found. Our work highlights the potential of secondary use of industry data. It reveals and clarifies several previously unknown or disputed symptom trajectories and relationships. Collaboration between academia and industry can help generate new scientific knowledge.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Persistent pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain (PGP) and the resulting consequences may considerably influence a woman's quality of life. The complexity of this condition requires a whole-person centered approach. In response to COVID-19 outbreak, telerehabilitation has emerged as a promising alternative to traditional in-person visits. PURPOSE The aim of this report was to present the potential of telerehabilitation for persistent postpartum PGP within the biopsychosocial framework. CASE DESCRIPTION A 26-year-old female presented with persistent pregnancy-related PGP of 8 months duration after her first vaginal delivery. The video-consults were performed using telerehabilitation platform. The patient received six telerehabilitation consults of 45 min duration over five weeks. Assessment of physical and psychosocial factors, cognitively focused strategies including pain neurophysiology education, sensory-motor remapping exercises, and graded increase of activity were administered. Rehabilitation was divided into the following phases: assessment, desensitization, graded exposure, and supported independence. OUTCOMES The Pelvic Girdle Questionnaire (PGQ) score was significantly reduced from 72.2 during the assessment to 15.3 at discharge. This change was significantly more substantial than the minimal clinically important change estimated for the PGQ. CONCLUSION Physiotherapists can utilize telerehabilitation to assist them with enacting appropriate care measures for persistent PGP within a biopsychosocial framework.

BACKGROUND Pregnancy-related low back and/or pelvic girdle pain is common, with a prevalence rate of up to 86% in pregnant women. Although 19.5% of Australian pregnant women visit a chiropractor for pelvic girdle pain, little is known about the experience of pregnant women who seek this care. The aim of this study was to describe and explore the experiences of Australian pregnant women who seek chiropractic care for their current pregnancy-related low back and/or pelvic girdle pain. METHODS A qualitative case study approach with purposive sampling from 27 chiropractic practices was used. A grounded theory approach was informed by a constructivist and interpretivist stance, which provided understanding and meaning to the pregnant women's experiences. Online unstructured interviews were recorded, transcribed, and anonymised. A thematic analysis was subsequently conducted on the primary data. Codes and major themes were developed with the use of critical self- reflection (memos), survey finding triangulation and respondent validation. RESULTS Sixteen potential respondents expressed interest in participating. After eligibility screening and data saturation, nine interviews were undertaken. Four key themes were identified: "Care drivers: what drives care seeking?", "Care barriers: what barriers are encountered?", "Chiropractic treatment: what does treatment consist of?" and "Response to care: what response was there to care?". CONCLUSION Four key themes: care drivers, care barriers, chiropractic treatment, and response to care support an emergent substantive-level theory in women's care seeking experiences for pregnancy-related back pain and chiropractic care. This theory is that chiropractic care for pregnant women experiencing low back pain and pelvic girdle pain may improve pain and function, while reducing pregnancy-related biopsychosocial concerns. The findings may inform antenatal health providers and the chiropractic profession about pregnant women's experience seeking chiropractic care as well as directing future research.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Two-thirds of pregnant women suffer from low-back pain during pregnancy, which leads to negative effects on quality of everyday life. According to the literature, an 8- to 12-week program of adapted physical activity during pregnancy has proven its efficacy in treatment of low-back pain and functional disability. Stretching Postural is a nondynamic technique using muscular contractions and stretches that act mainly on the back and that can be practiced alone. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to assess the effect of an 8-week program of standardized Stretching Postural postures in low-risk pregnant women suffering from low-back pain. STUDY DESIGN This was an open-label, randomized, controlled trial in 1 French university hospital. Women with a singleton low-risk pregnancy between 15 and 32 weeks of gestation and with back, lumbar, or sacroiliac pain were randomly assigned (1:1) to either undergo an 8-week program of standardized Stretching Postural with basic advice (intervention group) or to receive basic advice only (control group). Both groups received ergonomic advice and encouragement to practice physical activity. The primary endpoint was the pain assessment at 8 weeks (defined by the mean pain level estimated by women in the previous week, scored on a numeric scale from 0 to 10). Secondary endpoints were pain after 4 weeks of follow-up, quality of life (12-item Short Form Survey), satisfaction (Patient Global Impression of Change), and delivery outcomes. The main analysis was intention-to-treat. RESULTS From January 2019 to August 2020, 60 women were randomized: 30 were assigned to the intervention group and 30 to the control group. The mean level of pain at 8 weeks was significantly lower in the intervention group than in the control group (1.6±1.4 vs 4.1±2.2; P<.01). The mean 12-item Short Form Survey scores were significantly higher in the posture group than in the control group (Physical Component Score, 45.7±7.8 vs 37.4±8.5; P<.01; Mental Component Score, 54.3±5.8 vs 50.4±7.1; P=.04), and the Patient Global Impression of Change score was also significantly higher (6.1±1.5 vs 3.9±2.3; P<.01). No adverse effects were found. CONCLUSION Stretching Postural appears to be a safe and efficient nondrug therapy to treat low-back pain during low-risk pregnancy.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) affects approximately 50% of pregnant women. The mechanisms are multifactorial but not fully understood. Women with generalized joint hypermobility (GJH) may be vulnerable to load in the pelvic joints during pregnancy. Our aim was to investigate if women with GJH had an increased risk of PGP and higher pain intensity during and after pregnancy, compared with women with normal joint mobility. We also studied if body mass index (BMI) in early pregnancy influenced that risk. MATERIAL AND METHODS A prospective cohort study of 356 women, whose data were collected by self-reports and clinical examinations in early and in late pregnancy and 9 months after childbirth. GJH was present with ≥5/9 points on the Beighton score. PGP was defined by a pain drawing and ≥1 positive test. Pain intensity was measured with a visual analogue scale (0-100 mm). We adjusted for age and origin in logistic regression and ordinal logistic regression analysis. RESULTS In early pregnancy, 47.1% of the women with GJH had PGP vs 32.6% of women with normal joint mobility (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 1.76; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.86-3.62) and had higher odds of reporting higher pain intensity (aOR 2.04; 95% CI 1.02-4.07). The odds of PGP were highest for women with GJH and BMI ≥25 kg/m2 (aOR 6.88; 95% CI 1.34-35.27) compared with women with normal joint mobility and BMI <25 kg/m2 . The estimated associations were weaker and not statistically significant in late pregnancy or after childbirth. CONCLUSIONS Women with GJH did not have an increased risk of PGP during or after pregnancy but reported higher pain intensity in early pregnancy compared with women with normal joint mobility. Since women with combined GJH and BMI ≥25 kg/m2 had the highest odds of PGP in early pregnancy, our results may suggest that health care needs to pay attention to and develop methods to reduce the risk of PGP and delay the onset of pain during pregnancy in women with this combination.

Abstract
Women usually conceptualize pregnancy as a normal physiological state. In contrast, formal maternity care provision tends to be focused on pathology and risk. The authors aim to explore the extent to which childbearing women apply a sickness lens to pregnancy. We have therefore examined antenatal problems spontaneously reported by 4,000 UK and Norwegian women who responded to the international social media-based Babies Born Better survey. We coded and classified the free-text comments of the respondents as either complaint or disease. We found striking differences in the rates and types of problems reported by the women. We discuss our findings by applying different perspectives of medicalization and of lay and biomedical knowledge.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Pain during pregnancy affects women's well-being, causes worry and is a risk factor for the child and the mother during labor. The aim was to investigate the relative importance of an extensive set of pregnancy-related physiological symptoms and psychosocial factors assessed in the first trimester compared with the occurrence of pregnancy-related pain symptoms later in the pregnancy. MATERIAL AND METHODS Included were all women who booked an appointment for a first prenatal visit in one of 125 randomly selected general practitioner practices in Eastern Denmark from April 2015 to August 2016. These women answered an electronic questionnaire containing questions on the occurrence of five pregnancy-related pain symptoms: back pain, leg cramps, pelvic cavity pain, pelvic girdle pain and uterine contractions. The questionnaire also included sociodemographic questions and questions on chronic diseases, physical symptoms, mental health symptoms, lifestyle and reproductive background. The questionnaire was repeated in each trimester. The relative importance of this set of factors from the first trimester on the five pregnancy-related pain symptoms compared with the second and third trimesters was assessed in a dominance analysis. RESULTS A total of 1491 women were included. The most important factor for pregnancy-related pain in the second trimester and third trimester is the presence of the corresponding pain in the first trimester. Parity was associated with pelvic cavity pain and uterine contractions in the following pregnancies. For back pain and pelvic cavity pain, the odds increased as the women's estimated low self-assessed fitness decreased and had low WHO-5 wellbeing scores. CONCLUSIONS When including physical risk factors, sociodemographic factors, psychological factors and clinical risk factors, women's experiences of pregnancy-related pain in the first trimester are the most important predictors for pain later in pregnancy. Beyond the expected positive effects of pregnancy-related pain, notably self-assessed fitness, age and parity were predictive for pain later in pregnancy.

➤ Young women who are 15 to 45 years of age and undergo total hip replacements are at increased risk for revision compared with women >75 years of age.➤ Among women of childbearing age with a total hip replacement, 12% to 17% will later have at least 1 pregnancy.➤ Young women who undergo total hip replacement do not have an increased risk of pregnancy complications.➤ Of the 60% of women who experienced pain with a total hip replacement during pregnancy, 21% had persisting pain, and 4% reported the pain as severe.➤ Women who have a total hip replacement and later experience pregnancy and childbirth have no increased risk of pregnancy complications or increased revision rates; there was no effect of the mode of delivery on revision rates or complications including fracture, dislocation, or loosening, according to the limited studies available.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND HYPOTHESIS The Pelvic Girdle Questionnaire (PGQ) is designed to determine pain and limited activities in pregnant and postpartum women with pelvic girdle pain (PGP). The purpose of this study was to translate the PGQ into the Urdu language and find out the cross-cultural validity and reliability of the Urdu PGQ among pregnant and postpartum women. METHODS A translation and cultural adaptation study was performed following international guidelines. The PGQ (the Urdu version) was drafted and a pilot study was conducted on 16 pregnant and postpartum women. A total of 125 pregnant and postpartum females participated in this study for validity and test-retest reliability. SPSS 25 was used for data analysis. RESULTS Content validity was analyzed by the content validity index ranging from (0.92 to 1). Convergent validity was determined by correlating the Urdu version of the PGQ with the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI). Pearson rank correlation coefficient between the PGQ and the ODI (p=0.84) showed convergent validity. Internal consistency and test-retest reliability of the Urdu version of the PGQ were calculated by Cronbach's alpha (α=0.98), and intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC=0.98) respectively. CONCLUSION The Urdu version of the PGQ showed good content and convergent validity as well as high internal consistency and test-retest reliability.

Abstract
Background Pregnancy-related low back pain (PLBP) is a common musculoskeletal disorder, affecting people's physical and psychological health. Acupuncture is widely used in clinical practice as a treatment for PLBP. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture or acupuncture combined with other treatments for PLBP patients. Methods The Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, the Chinese Biological Medicine Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, WanFang Database, and VIP information database were searched from inception to January 31, 2022. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were eligible, without blinding and language restriction. Cochrane's risk of bias tool was used to assess the methodological quality. Meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.3. Results Twelve randomized controlled trials involving 1302 patients were included. The results showed that compared to the control group, the VAS score was significantly decreased after acupuncture treatment. In addition, no significant difference was found in the preterm delivery rate (RR = 0.38, 95%CI: 0.24 to 0.61, P = 0.97) after acupuncture treatment. Compared with other therapies, acupuncture or acupuncture plus other therapies revealed a significant increase in the effective rate (OR: 6.92, 95%CI: 2.44 to 19.67, I2 = 0%). No serious adverse events owing to acupuncture were reported. Conclusion Acupuncture or acupuncture combined with other interventions was a safe and effective therapy for treating PLBP. However, the methodological quality of the RCTs was low. More rigorous and well-designed trials should be conducted.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of adding core stability to usual care for pregnant women with lumbar and pelvic girdle (LPG) pain. METHODS This was a repeated-measures design randomized controlled trial with blinded outcome assessors. Thirty-five pregnant women with LPG pain were recruited from prenatal health care providers. They were allocated to 2 study groups to receive either usual prenatal care (control group, n = 17) or usual care with core stability exercises focusing on the pelvic floor muscles and deep abdominal muscles (exercise group, n = 18) for 10 weeks. The visual analog scale, score on the Oswestry Disability Index, and the World Health Organization's Quality of Life Brief Version (WHOQOL-BREF) were evaluated with analysis of variance at pre-intervention, post-intervention, at the end of pregnancy, and 6 weeks after childbirth. RESULTS There was a statistically significant interaction of group and time for all outcome measures except for the Social category (P = .18) in the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. The analysis of the group within time showed that mean scores in the exercise group were substantially improved at the post-intervention, end of pregnancy, and 6-week follow-up evaluation, except in the Environment category (end of pregnancy: P = .36; 6-week follow-up: P = .75) in the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. CONCLUSION The results of this study indicate that the addition of core stability exercises was more effective than the usual care alone in pain relief, improving disability, and quality of life of pregnant women with LPG pain.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION AND HYPOTHESIS The relationship between external lumbar, hip, and/or pelvic girdle pain and internal vaginal pelvic floor myofascial pain is not well described. We assessed this relationship in a cohort of adult women. METHODS The cohort included women ≥ 18 years old who received care for external lumbar, hip, and/or pelvic girdle pain (reported or elicited on physical examination) who then underwent internal vaginal myofascial levator ani pain assessments, in a tertiary care Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery pelvic pain clinic over a 2-year period (2013 and 2014). RESULTS The cohort of 177 women had an average age of 44.9±16.0 years, an average body mass index of 27.2±7.0 kg/m2, and the majority (79.2%) were white. Most patients presented with a chief complaint of pelvic (51.4%), vulvovaginal (18.6%), and/or lumbar (15.3%) pain. Women who reported symptoms of lumbar, hip, or pelvic girdle pain were more likely to have pain on vaginal pelvic floor muscle examination than women without this history (OR, 7.24; 95% CI, 1.95-26.93, p=0.003). The majority (85.9%) of women had bilateral internal vaginal pelvic floor myofascial pain on examination. CONCLUSIONS Although participants did not describe "vaginal pelvic floor myofascial pain," the high detection rate for internal vaginal pelvic floor myofascial pain on clinical examination highlights an opportunity to improve treatment planning. These findings suggest that the vaginal pelvic floor muscle examination should be part of the assessment of all women with lumbar, hip, and/or pelvic girdle pain. The relationship between this finding and clinical outcomes following directed treatment warrants additional study.

Abstract
Pregnant women frequently complain of low back discomfort associated with their pregnancies. On their quality of life, it could have a detrimental effect. Pregnancy-related low back pain (LBP) and pelvic girdle pain (PGP) are associated with substantial direct and indirect expenditures. Evidence addressing strategies to treat and prevent these illnesses needs to be clarified. This review aimed to examine the connection between exercise, LBP, and PGP. To find relevant studies (in the English language) that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a systematic search of peer-reviewed literature was carried out using the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Scopus, the Web of Science, Pub Med, and ClinicalTrials.Gov. The publishing window was limited to the previous 10 years (2012-2022). Utilizing Review Manager version 5.4 (The Nordic Cochrane Centre, The Cochrane Collaboration, Copenhagen), the results were examined. JADAD ratings were used to evaluate the quality of the included studies. To analyze the endpoints, the mean, standard mean difference (SMD), and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were determined. We chose 16 randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that included 1885 pregnant individuals with pelvic girdle and/or lower back discomfort. The combined data showed that the exercise group had lower VAS scores than the control group. The final result, however, did not significantly differ. Most of the studies had high JADAD scores, ranging from 3 to 5 points. Lower back pain and/or pelvic girdle discomfort during pregnancy are not influenced by exercise; however, women who are provided with a regular exercise program appear to manage the condition effectively with improved functional status.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To describe the methods for the in-person musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment of the RISE FOR HEALTH (RISE) study, a population-based multicenter prospective cohort study designed to identify factors associated with bladder health (BH) conducted by the Prevention of Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms Research Consortium (PLUS). METHODS A subset of RISE participants who express interest in the in-person assessment are screened to ensure eligibility (planned n = 525). Eligible consenting participants are asked to complete a standardized MSK assessment to evaluate core stability (four component core stability test, lumbar spine pain (seated slump test), pelvic girdle pain, (sacroiliac joint, anterior superior iliac spine, pubic symphysis tenderness, and pelvic girdle pain provocation test), hip pain (flexion, abduction, internal rotation and flexion, adduction and external rotation) and pelvic girdle function (active straight leg raise). Participants are also asked to complete the Short Physical Performance Battery to measure balance, gait speed, lower extremity strength, and functional capacity. RESULTS Detailed online and in-person MSK training sessions led by physical therapy were used to certify research staff at each clinical center before the start of RISE in-person assessments. All evaluators exceeded the pre-specified pass rates. CONCLUSIONS The RISE in-person MSK assessment will provide further insight into the role of general body MSK health and dysfunction and the spectrum of BH.

Abstract
Objectives In this study, we aimed to clarify the impact of a Pilates-based therapeutic exercise on disability, pain, mood, and sleep quality in patients with pregnancy-related lumbopelvic pain (LPP). Patients and methods In the single-blinded randomized controlled study conducted between January 2018 and June 2018, 34 pregnant women (mean age: 29.7±6.2 years; range, 18 to 40 years) in the second trimester (week 14-24) with LPP were randomly assigned to a control group and a Pilates group. All patients underwent usual prenatal care. In addition, the selected Pilates exercise was carried out twice a week for 60-min per session for 12 weeks in the Pilates group. The control group was not prescribed an exercise regimen; however, they were not discouraged from exercising. The primary outcome was disability; secondary outcomes were LPP, mood, and sleep quality. Disability [Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ)], LPP [Visual Analog Scale (VAS)], mood [Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, Anxiety (HADS-A) and Depression (HADS-D) subscales], and sleep quality [Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI)] were measured before and after 12 weeks. Adverse effects and adherence were recorded to determine exercise safety and compliance. The intention-to-treat analysis was applied. Results The between-group effect sizes were moderate for the RMDQ and VAS scales (d=0.4 and d=0.7, respectively) and small for the HADS-A and HADS-D scales (both d=0.2). The intention-to-treat analysis demonstrated that there was a statistically significant difference in disability, pain, and mood in favor of the Pilates group (p0.05). Conclusion Adding Pilates to usual prenatal care should be considered a promising treatment option for pregnancy-related LPP.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Little is known of the associations between physical health issues and mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and comorbid anxiety and depression (CAD) occurring in the perinatal period. METHODS A longitudinal cohort study with 3009 first-time mothers giving birth in Ireland collected physical and mental health data in pregnancy and at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months postpartum. Mental health was measured using the depression and anxiety subscales of the Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale. Experience of eight common physical health issues (e.g. severe headaches/migraines, back pain) were assessed in pregnancy, with an additional six assessed at each postpartum data collection point. RESULTS 2.4 % of women reported depression alone in pregnancy and 4 % reported depression across the first postpartum year. Anxiety alone was reported by 3.0 % of women in pregnancy, and 2 % in the first year postpartum. Prevalence of comorbid anxiety/depression (CAD) was 1.5 % in pregnancy and almost 2 % postpartum. A higher proportion of women reporting, compared to women not reporting, postpartum CAD were younger, not partnered, not in paid employment in pregnancy, have fewer years of education, and had a caesarean birth. Extreme tiredness/exhaustion and back pain were the most common physical health issues in pregnancy and postpartum. Constipation, haemorrhoids, bowel issues, breast issues, infection and pain in the perineum or caesarean wound, pelvic pain and urinary tract infections were highest at three months postpartum and gradually decreased thereafter. Women reporting depression alone or anxiety alone were equivalent in terms of physical health issues. However, women without mental health symptoms reported significantly fewer physical health issues than women reporting depressive or anxiety symptoms alone or CAD at every time point. Women with CAD reported a significantly higher number of health issues than women reporting depression alone or anxiety alone at 9 and 12 months postpartum. CONCLUSION Reports of mental health symptoms are associated with higher physical health burden demonstrating a need for integrated approaches in mental and physical health care pathways in perinatal services.

Abstract
The subchondral lamella of the sacroiliac auricular surface is morphologically inconsistent. Its morpho-mechanical relationship with dysfunction (SIJD) remains unstudied. Here, the iliac and sacral subchondral bone mineralization is compared between morphological subtypes and in large and small surfaces, in SIJD joints and controls. CT datasets from 29 patients with bilateral or unilateral SIJD were subjected to CT-osteoabsorptiometry. Surface areas and posterior angles were calculated and surfaces were classified by size: small (<15 cm3 ) and large (≥15 cm3 ), and morphological types: 1 (>160°), 2 (130°-160°), and 3 (<130°). Mineralization patterns were identified: two marginal (M1 and M2) and two non-marginal (N1 and N2). Each sacral and iliac surface was subsequently classified. Dysfunctional cohort area averaged 15.0 ± 2.4 cm2 (males 16.2 ± 2.5 cm2 , females 13.7 ± 1.6 cm2 ). No age correlations with surface area were found nor mean Hounsfield Unit differences when comparing sizes, sexes or morphology-type. Controls and dysfunctional cohort comparison revealed differences in female sacra (p = 0.02) and small sacra (p = 0.03). There was low-conformity in marginal and non-marginal patterns, 26% for contralateral non-dysfunctional joints, and 46% for dysfunctional joints. The majority of painful joints was of type 2 morphology (59%), equally distributed between small (49%) and large joints (51%). Larger joints had the highest frequency of dysfunctional joints (72%). Auricular surface morphology seems to have little impact on pain-related subchondral lamella adaptation in SIJD. Larger joints may be predisposed to the onset of pain due to the weakening of the extracapsular structures. Dysfunctional joints reflect common conformity patterns of sacral-apex mineralization with corresponding superior corner iliac mineralization.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to examine the association of sacroiliac joint (SIJ) dysfunction and pain with overuse and acute lower limb and pelvic girdle injuries of Iranian basketball players. METHODS In this cross-sectional study, basketball-related injury data were collected during 2019-2020 from 204 basketball players of the Iranian league using the online Information Retrospective Injury Questionnaire. A researcher then performed ten clinical tests to assess SIJ dysfunction and pain (five tests for dysfunction and five tests for pain). Data analysis was performed by logistic regression at the confidence interval of 95%. RESULTS Within our sample (n = 204), injury rates were calculated across sub-groups of athletes that had only SIJ pain (n = 19), only SIJ dysfunction (n = 67), both SIJ pain and dysfunction (n = 15) or no SIJ complaints (n = 103). Across these groups, a total of 464 injuries were reported. SIJ pain group reported 80 injuries (17.2%), SIJ dysfunction group reported 210 injuries (45.2%), both SIJ pain and dysfunction group reported 58 injuries (12.5%, and the no SIJ pain or SIJ dysfunction group reported 116 injuries (25.0%). Participants with SIJ pain were more likely to report previous pelvic girdle injuries (overuse: odds ratio (OR): 0.017; 95% CI: 0.005-0.56; p < 0.001 and acute: OR: 0.197; 95%CI: 0.101-0.384; p < 0.001) and also lower limb injuries (overuse: OR: 0.179, 95%CI: 0.082-0.392, p < 0.001). Participants with SIJ dysfunction only were likely to report acute pelvic girdle injuries (OR: 0.165; 95%CI: 0.070-0.387; p < 0.001) and acute lower limb injuries (OR: 0.165; 95%CI: 0.030-0.184; p < 0.001). CONCLUSION The presence of SIJ dysfunction and pain is associated with a history of acute and overuse injuries in the pelvic girdle and lower limb. Thus, SIJ dysfunction and pain should be specifically evaluated and addressed when designing rehabilitation programs for sports-related injuries.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Pelvic girdle pain (PGP) in pregnancy may result in activity limitations and thus a negative impact on the individual woman's everyday life. Women's expectations when they seek physical therapy because of PGP are not yet known. OBJECTIVE To explore pregnant women's lived experience of PGP and what needs and expectations they express prior to a physical therapy consultation. METHODS A qualitative study using a descriptive phenomenological method. Interviews conducted with 15 pregnant women seeking physical therapy because of PGP, recruited through purposive sampling at one primary care rehabilitation clinic. RESULTS PGP was described by four themes; An experience with larger impact on life than expected, A time for adjustments and acceptance, A feeling of insecurity and concern, A desire to move forward. PGP had a large impact on the pregnant women´s life. Thoughts of PGP as something to be endured was expressed, the women therefore accepted the situation. Finding strategies to manage everyday life was hard and when it failed, the women described despair and a need for help. They expected the physical therapist to be an expert who would see them as individuals and provide advice that could make their everyday life easier. CONCLUSION Our results reveal that pregnant women with PGP delay seeking physical therapy until their situation becomes unmanageable and they run out of strategies for self-care. The women express, in light of their individual experiences, needs and expectations for professional management and advice tailored to their individually unique situation.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Low back (LBP) and pelvic girdle pain (PGP) during pregnancy are related to high direct and indirect costs. It is important to clarify evidence regarding interventions to manage and prevent these conditions. OBJECTIVE Investigate the efficacy and acceptability of the interventions to prevent LBP and PGP during pregnancy. DATA SOURCES Searches were conducted up to January 6th, 2021 in the MEDLINE, PEDro, Cochrane Library, SPORTDiscus, CINAHL, AMED, Embase and PsycInfo databases STUDY ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: (1) Pregnant women without LBP and/or PGP; (2) any prevention strategy on incidence of LBP and PGP and sick leave; (3) comparison to control; (4) quasi and randomised controlled trial. STUDY APPRAISAL AND SYNTHESIS METHODS Two reviewers performed screening, data extraction and methodological quality assessments. Meta-analysis was performed and Relative Risks (RRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were reported. RESULTS Six randomised controlled trials involving 2231 participants were included in the review. Evidence of moderate quality was found that "stand-alone" exercise is acceptable to pregnant women with lumbopelvic pain (LBPP) (RR 0.60 [95%CI 0.42-0.84]) and prevents episodes of LBP (RR 0.92 [95%CI 0.85-0.99]) in the long-term. Moderate to very-low quality evidence was found detailing the lack of efficacy of other interventions in the prevention of these problems in the short and long-term. LIMITATIONS Small number of trials included. CONCLUSIONS Efficacy of prevention strategies for episodes of LBPP and the use of sick leave during pregnancy is not supported by evidence of high quality. Current evidence suggests that exercise is acceptable and promising for the prevention of LBP in the long-term. However, further high-quality trials with larger samples are needed. Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study was performed to evaluate the degree of radiological sacroiliac joint (SIJ) degeneration in patients with degenerative lumbar spondylolisthesis (DLS). The related risk factors for SIJ degeneration were also investigated. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed the lumbar and pelvic computed tomography (CT) scans of 303 patients with DLS admitted from January 2018 to December 2021. One hundred and fifty-six age-, gender-, and body mass index-matched patients without lumbar anomality who underwent lower abdominal or pelvic computed tomography scans were included in the control group. Sagittal parameters were measured on full-length lateral radiographs. Two protocols (Backlund's grade and Eno's classification) were used to assess SIJ degeneration. Univariate analysis and bivariate and multivariate regression analysis were performed to identify the factors affecting SIJ degeneration in patients with DLS. RESULTS According to Backlund's grade and Eno's classification, SIJ degeneration was more severe in the DLS group than in the control group (P < 0.001). Multi-segment degenerative changes (P = 0.032), two-level DLS (P = 0.033), a history of hysterectomy (P < 0.001), lower extremity pain (P = 0.016), and pelvic pain (P = 0.013) were associated with more significant SIJ degeneration as assessed by Backlund's grade. The results of Pearson's correlation analysis showed positive correlation between the sagittal vertical axis and SIJ degeneration (r = 0.232, P = 0.009). The multivariate linear regression analysis showed that a history of hysterectomy was significantly correlated with SIJ degeneration in patients with DLS (r = 1.951, P = 0.008). CONCLUSIONS SIJ degeneration was more severe in patients with than without DLS. We should take SIJ degeneration into consideration when diagnosing and treating DLS especially those who had undergone previous hysterectomy or showed sagittal malalignment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Self-efficacy, one's ability to deal with pain, disability, and other symptoms through self-management techniques, positively affect the quality of life in patients with chronic diseases. Pregnancy-related back pain is a common musculoskeletal disorder pre- and postnatally. Hence, the study aimed to determine whether self-efficacy is associated with the development of back pain during pregnancy. METHODS Between February 2020 and February 2021, a prospective case-control study was performed. Women with back pain were included. The self efficacy was assessed by the Chinese version of the General Self-efficacy Scale (GSES). Pregnancy-related back pain was measured using a self-reported scale. No regression from pregnancy-related back pain is defined as a recurrent or persistent pain score ≥ 3 over a week around 6 months postpartum. Women experiencing back pain during pregnancy are classified according to whether having a regression. This problem can be divided into pregnancy-related low back pain (LBP) and posterior girdle pain (PGP). The differences in variables were compared between groups. RESULTS A total of 112 subjects have completed the study finally. These patients were followed up with an average of 7.2 months after childbirth ranging from six to 8 months. 31 subjects (27.7%) of the included women did not report regression 6 months postpartum. The mean self efficacy was 25.2 (SD:10.6). Patients with no regression tended to be older (LBP:25.9 ± 7.2 vs.31.8 ± 7.9, P = 0.023; PGP: 27.2 ± 7.9 vs. 35.9 ± 11.6, P < 0.001*), have a lower self efficacy (LBP:24.2 ± 6.6 vs.17.7 ± 7.1, P = 0.007; PGP: 27.6 ± 6.8 vs. 22.5 ± 7.0, P = 0.010), and need high daily physical demand in their vocations (LBP:17.4% vs. 60.0%, P = 0.019; PGP: 10.3% vs. 43.8%, P = 0.006) when compared to those with regression. Multivariate logistic analysis shows that risk factors for no regression from pregnancy-related back pain included LBP (OR = 2.36, 95%CI = 1.67-5.52, P < 0.001), pain ratings of the onset of back pain during pregnancy≥3(OR = 2.23, 95%CI = 1.56-6.24, P = 0.004), low self efficacy (OR = 2.19, 95%CI = 1.47-6.01, P < 0.001), and high daily physical demand in their vocations (OR = 2.01, 95%CI = 1.25-6.87, P = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS Low self efficacy makes the women experience about two-fold risk to experience no regression from pregnancy-related back pain. Evaluation for self efficacy is simple enough to be used to improve perinatal health.

Abstract
Abstract
Purpose The goal of this study is to see if there's a predictive
relationship between diastasis rectus abdominis and pelvic floor dysfunction,
sacroiliac joint dysfunction, and postpartum women's health-related
quality of life.
Method This cross-sectional, correlative study focused on 32 postpartum
mothers aged 18 to 45 years old. Real Ultrasound Sonographic Imaging (RUSI) was
used to determine DRA. The Pelvic Floor Disability Index was used to assess
pelvic floor dysfunction (PFDI). The Active Straight Leg Raise Test (ASLR), the
Long Dorsal Sacral Ligament Test (LDL), and the Posterior Pelvic Provocation
Test (P4) were also investigated. The Short Form-12 (SF-12) Survey was used to
assess health-related quality of life (HRQoL).
Results A negative correlation between DRA and postpartum period was
recorded (ρ=0.0001). The following categories showed a
significant positive correlation between DRA and Pelvic floor dysfunction:
Pelvic Organ Prolapse Distress Inventory-6 (POPDI-6) corelated positively with
DRA (ρ =0.01); Colorectal-Anal Distress Inventory-8 (CRAD-8)
(ρ =0.02); Urinary Distress Inventory-6 (UDI-6) (ρ
=0.00). There was no correlation between DRA and sacroiliac joint
dysfunction (ρ =0.8).
Conclusion DRA was discovered to be a strong predictor of pelvic floor
dysfunction, such as prolapse, colorectal-anal dysfunction, and urine distress.
There was no evidence of a link between DRA and sacroiliac joint dysfunction or
HRQoL.
