Abstract
BACKGROUND Non-pharmacological interventions have the potential to enhance health-related quality of life (HRQoL) through symptom management. This systematic review aims to identify, collate, and assess randomized controlled trials investigating the effect of non-pharmacological interventions on symptoms and HRQoL within hematology. METHODS MEDLINE/PUBMED, EMBASE, CINAHL, PSYCINFO and COCHRANE were searched up to April 2021. Outcomes were changes in symptoms and HRQoL. RESULTS Sixty-five studies were categorized into five intervention types: Mind/body (n=9), Web-based (n=9), Music/art (n=6), Consultation-based (n=4), and Physical activity (n=37). We found significantly reduced fatigue (n=12 studies), anxiety (n=8) and depression (n=7), with 11 studies showing significant improvements in HRQoL. CONCLUSIONS The evidence for non-pharmacological interventions shows substantial variation in efficacy and methodological quality. While specific symptoms and HRQoL outcomes significantly favored the intervention, no particular intervention can be emphasized as more favorable, given the inability to conduct a meta-analysis.

Abstract
PURPOSE Physical activity can provide analgesic benefit but its effect on cancer-related pain is unclear. This review synthesised and appraised the evidence for the effect of physical activity on pain in people living with or beyond cancer. METHODS A systematic search of Ovid Medline and Embase was performed to identify randomised controlled trials (RCTs), randomised cross-over studies (RXTs), and prospective observational studies that examined physical activity and pain outcomes in adults living with or beyond cancer. Meta-analyses were performed to generate effect estimates. Risk of bias was assessed, and the GRADE system was used to assess evidence quality. RESULTS One hundred twenty-one studies (n = 13,806), including 102 RCTs, 6 RXTs, and 13 observational studies, met the criteria for inclusion. Meta-analyses of RCTs identified a decrease in pain intensity (n = 3734; standardised mean difference (SMD) - 0.30; 95% confidence interval (CI) - 0.45, - 0.15) and bodily pain (n = 1170; SMD 0.28; 95% CI 0.01, 0.56) but not pain interference (n = 207; SMD - 0.13, 95% CI - 0.42, 0.15) following physical activity interventions. Individual studies also identified a reduction in pain sensitivity but not analgesic use, although meta-analysis was not possible for these outcomes. High heterogeneity between studies, low certainty in some effect estimates, and possible publication bias meant that evidence quality was graded as very low to low. CONCLUSION Physical activity may decrease pain in people living with and beyond cancer; however, high heterogeneity limits the ability to generalise this finding to all people with cancer or to specific types of cancer-related pain.

Abstract
PURPOSE This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to identify whether E-health interventions effectively improve physical activity (PA) in cancer survivors. METHODS PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases were searched from inception to October 21, 2023. Randomized controlled trials reporting the effect of E-health interventions on PA among cancer survivors were included. Random-effect models were used to calculate standardized mean differences (SMD) and the 95% confidence interval (CI). RESULTS In total, 15 trials with 2,291 cancer survivors were included in this meta-analysis. The results showed that E-health interventions improved moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) among cancer survivors (SMD = 0.26, 95% CI 0.08, 0.43, N = 8, p < 0.001, I2 = 37%), as well as moderate physical activity (MPA) (SMD = 0.22, 95% CI 0.05, 0.38, N = 9, p < 0.001, I2 = 28%) and vigorous physical activity (VPA) (SMD = 0.34, 95% CI 0.15, 0.54, N = 6, p < 0.001, I2 = 11%). CONCLUSION E-health interventions are effective at promoting PA among cancer survivors. As current research primarily focuses on immediate post-intervention measurements with limited follow-up data, further investigation is required to explore the long-term effects of E-health interventions on PA.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study's primary aim was to investigate whether including a mental health component to healthy lifestyle interventions are associated with greater effects on quality of life (QoL) for post-treatment cancer survivors than addressing physical activity and/or nutrition alone. METHODS PsycINFO, Scopus, Medline, CINAHL, and Google Scholar were searched to identify randomised control trials of healthy lifestyle interventions for post-treatment cancer survivors, with a usual care or waitlist control, and measured QoL. Meta-analyses quantified the effects of interventions vs controls at post-treatment on total QoL, physical, emotional, and social well-being. Subgroup analyses compared interventions with vs without a mental health component, modes of delivery, and duration. The quality of the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias 2. RESULTS Eighty-eight papers evaluating 110 interventions were included: 66 effect sizes were extracted for meta-analysis, and 22 papers were narratively synthesised. The pooled effect size demonstrated a small, significant effect of healthy lifestyle interventions in comparison to control for all QoL outcomes (total g = 0.32, p >.001; physical g = 0.19, p = 0.05; emotional g = 0.20, p >.001; social g = 0.18, p = 0.01). There was no significant difference between interventions with vs without a mental health component. Face-to-face delivered interventions were associated with greater total QoL and physical well-being compared to other modalities. Interventions delivered ≤12 weeks were associated with greater physical well-being than those delivered ≥13 weeks. Overall, studies had substantial levels of heterogeneity and 55.9% demonstrated high risk of bias. CONCLUSIONS Participating in a healthy lifestyle intervention following cancer treatment improves QoL. Few trials addressed mental health or evaluated online or telephone modalities; future research should develop and evaluate interventions that utilise these features. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS Brief healthy lifestyle interventions can be recommended for cancer survivors, particularly those interested in improving physical well-being.

Abstract
PURPOSE To characterize delivery features and explore effectiveness of telehealth-based cancer rehabilitation interventions that address disability in adult cancer survivors. METHODS A systematic review of electronic databases (CINAHL Plus, Cochrane Library: Database of Systematic Reviews, Embase, National Health Service's Health Technology Assessment, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science) was conducted in December 2019 and updated in April 2021. RESULTS Searches identified 3,499 unique studies. Sixty-eight studies met inclusion criteria. There were 81 unique interventions across included studies. Interventions were primarily delivered post-treatment and lasted an average of 16.5 weeks (SD = 13.1). They were most frequently delivered using telephone calls (59%), administered delivered by nursing professionals (35%), and delivered in a one-on-one format (88%). Risk of bias of included studies was primarily moderate to high. Included studies captured 55 measures of disability. Only 54% of reported outcomes had data that allowed calculation of effect sizes ranging -3.58 to 15.66. CONCLUSIONS The analyses suggest small effects of telehealth-based cancer interventions on disability, though the heterogeneity seen in the measurement of disability makes it hard to draw firm conclusions. Further research using more diverse samples, common measures of disability, and pragmatic study designs is needed to advance telehealth in cancer rehabilitation. IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS Telehealth-based cancer rehabilitation interventions have the potential to increase access to care designed to reduce disability across the cancer care continuum.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The purpose of this study was to test Multi-Process Action Control (M-PAC) processes as correlates of physical activity (PA) intention formation and translation (i.e., action control) in individuals diagnosed with cancer. METHODS This study was a cross-sectional survey, completed from July to November of 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. PA and M-PAC processes were self-reported using the Godin Leisure-Time Exercise Questionnaire and questionnaires for reflective (instrumental/affective attitudes, perceived opportunity/capability), regulatory (e.g., goal-setting, planning), and reflexive processes (habit, identity). Separate hierarchical multinomial logistic regression models determined correlates of intention formation and action control. RESULTS Participants (n = 347; Mage= 48.2 ± 15.6) were primarily diagnosed with breast cancer (27.4%) and at a localized stage (85.0%). Most participants intended to perform PA (70.9%), yet only 50.4% met guidelines. Affective judgements (p < 0.001) and perceived capability (p < 0.01) were significantly associated with intention formation. Preliminary models indicated employment, affective judgements, perceived capability, and self-regulation to be significant (ps < 0.05) correlates of action control, but in the final model, only surgical treatment (p = 0.02) and PA identity (p < 0.001) were significantly associated with action control. CONCLUSION Reflective processes were associated with PA intention formation, while reflexive processes were associated with PA action control. Behavior change efforts for individuals diagnosed with cancer should extend beyond social-cognitive approaches to include regulatory and reflexive processes of PA behavior (i.e., PA identity).

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected how many people engage in regular moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity (MVPA). The purpose of this study was to predict current and dynamic (across 2 years of the pandemic) intention and MVPA profiles using the multi-process action control (M-PAC) framework. A representative sample of 977 English-speaking Canadians (18 + years) completed measures of reflective (instrumental attitude, affective attitude, perceived capability, and opportunity), regulatory (planning and self-monitoring), and reflexive (habit and identity) processes, intention, and MVPA. These measures included current assessments and reflections prior to the COVID-19 restrictions. Three current intention-behavior profiles (nonintenders, unsuccessful intenders, and successful intenders) and five dynamic intention-MVPA by prepandemic MVPA profiles (consistent nonintenders, relapsed nonintenders, consistent unsuccessful intenders, relapsed unsuccessful intenders, and consistent successful intenders) emerged from these data, showing few increased MVPA across the pandemic. The current and dynamic profiles were subsequently predicted by changes in specific reflective, regulatory, and reflexive processes across the pandemic; however, only change in identity was the critical predictor of successful MVPA engagement in the dynamic 2-year MVPA profiles. Collectively, the findings support the joint promotion of reflective, regulatory, and reflexive processes in the choice of behavior change techniques to promote postpandemic MVPA intention and behavior.

Abstract
Purpose Impaired quality of life (QOL) including reduced physical fitness is a recognized late effect of hemopoietic cell transplantation (HCT). Guided exercise and mindfulness-based stress management (MBSM) programs have shown promise, mainly in the inpatient setting. We aimed to examine the feasibility of a virtual, home-based, combined exercise and MBSM program. Methods Patients attending post-HCT clinic were invited to participate in this single-arm pre-post study. Eligibility criteria included age 18–75 years, > 6 months post allogeneic HCT. Consented participants attended an in-person session, followed by weekly exercise and MBSM training for 6 weeks via videoconferencing. Assessments were performed pre-training, and at 3-, 6- and 12-months and compared using a linear mixed effects model. Results 21 of 24 patients consenting to the study completed the program (median age 56 years [IQR 46–62], median time post-HCT 37 months [IQR 26–46]). Six-minute walk test scores were significantly higher at 3 (mean difference 79.6, 95%CI 28–131, ES 0.55) and 12 months (mean difference 48.4, 95%CI 13–84, ES 0.33) compared to baseline. Sit-to-stand test was significantly higher at 3 (mean difference 4.4, 95%CI 1.4–7.4, ES 0.68) and 12 months (mean difference 3.9, 95%CI 0.24–7.6, ES 0.61). Dominant hand grip was significantly stronger at 3 (mean difference 0.16, 95%CI 0.04–0.28, ES 0.45), and 12 months (mean difference 0.21, 95%CI 0.08–0.24, ES 0.62). Significantly higher FACT-BMT total (mean difference 6.9, 95%CI 1.5–12.4, ES 0.49) and FACT-G scores (mean difference 5.2, 95%CI 1.4–9.1, ES 0.48) were found at 3 months. Over 80% of participants rated the virtual combined modal program highly and no adverse events were reported. Conclusion A 6-week virtual, home-based exercise and MBSM program was an acceptable, and potentially effective intervention for sustained improvement of some physical capacity and QOL outcomes in HCT survivors. Virtual-based healthcare service is highly relevant particularly during pandemics. To our knowledge, this study has the longest follow-up observation period for Internet based combined modality training program reported to date and warrants additional investigation. Trial Registration Research protocol approved by St Vincent’s Hospital Ethics Committee (HREC 12/SVH/175), approved 27/09/2012, trial commenced 24/05/13 and the first participant 07/06/13. Abstract
Background Prostate cancer survivors (PCS) experience long-term side effects beyond treatment such as fatigue, depression and anxiety. Quality and engaging supportive care programs are needed to reduce these chronic and debilitating effects. Independent of physical activity (PA), high volumes of sedentary behavior (SB) are associated with chronic disease-related risk factors and poorer cancer-specific quality of life (QoL). Simultaneously increasing PA and decreasing SB may be an effective health promotion strategy. Given that PCS may face several barriers to engaging in supervised programs, there is a need to develop and assess the efficacy of interventions that employ distance-based approaches for behavior change. The primary aim of this study is to determine the effects of a 12-week intervention (Fitbit + behavioral counselling) vs. Fitbit-only control group in reducing SB among PCS. Secondary outcomes include light-intensity PA, QoL, motivational outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Methods This two-armed, randomized controlled trial will recruit inactive PCS (stage I-IV) across Canada who self-report engaging in >8 hours/day of SB. Participants will be randomized to the intervention (n=60; Fitbit and behavioral support) or active control group (n=60; Fitbit-only). The intervention consists of the use of a Fitbit and a series of six behavioral support sessions (two group, four individual) to aid PCS in gradually replacing SB with light-intensity PA by increasing their daily step counts to 3,000 steps above their baseline values. The Fitbit-only control condition will receive a Fitbit and public health PA resources. The primary outcome is change in SB measured objectively using activPAL inclinometers. All secondary outcomes will be measured via self-report, except for PA which will be measuring using Fitbits. Data will be collected at baseline, post-intervention, and at 6-month post-intervention. Discussion Reducing SB and increasing light-intensity PA plays an important, yet often undervalued role in the health and well-being of PCS. This study will create a unique distance-based platform that can be used by clinical and community-based organizations as a low-cost, supportive care tool to improve health outcomes for PCS. Abstract
PURPOSE To investigate the effects of exercise interventions on the physical fitness, fatigue, and quality of life (QOL) in adults with hematological malignancy (HM) who did not receive hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). METHODS We performed a systematic review with meta-analysis and qualitative evidence synthesis. We systematically searched 10 electronic databases including Medline, Allied and Complementary Medicine Database, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Embase, CINAHL complete, SPORTDiscus, Web of Science, China Wan Fang Database, China National Knowledge Internet, and China Science and Technology Journal Database from their inception up to March 2021. The Cochrane guideline was followed, and a PRISMA checklist for reporting systematic reviews was completed. RESULTS Fifteen studies were included in this systematic review, of which 11 were included in the meta-analysis. There was a significant increase in the physical fitness between the exercise group and the control group, in terms of the 6-min walk test and peak oxygen consumption. There was a significant change in the peak oxygen consumption from the baseline to the endpoint in the exercise group. In the between-group analyses, there were no significant differences in the effect of exercise on the grip strength, fatigue, and QOL; however, in the within-group analysis, QOL was significantly increased in the combination exercise group. CONCLUSION Both aerobic exercise and combination exercise appear safe and feasible and can improve physical fitness in adult patients with HM who have not received HSCT. The combination exercise may have potential benefits for their QOL.

Abstract
Purpose The purposes of this literature review were to (1) establish the utility of supportive telehealth interventions focusing on early identification of treatment-related symptoms in adult patients with hematologic malignancies, with a secondary aim to (2) evaluate acceptability and feasibility. Methods A literature review was conducted using PubMed, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, CINAHL, Scopus, and Embase. Dates searched were from January 2007 through December 2019. Inclusion criteria included a diagnosis of hematologic malignancy, incorporation of telehealth interventions, effects on physiological outcomes, and participants ages 18 or older. Articles were excluded if they were a duplicate, had an irrelevant title, or were an incomplete study. Results Results indicated overall utility, acceptability, and feasibility of the interventions, including improved awareness of late and long-term therapy-related sequelae in survivorship, an overall decline in the number of chemotherapy delays with decreased rates in dose reductions, a means to further manage exercise remotely, and finally, improved communication between provider and patient with real-time management of acute and chronic treatment-related side effects using supportive telemetric interventions. Conclusion Overall, the use of telehealth interventions in adult patients with hematologic malignancies positively impacts patient health, and telehealth interventions were found to be both accepted and feasible. Future studies should be directed at the role and involvement of the advanced practitioner, and current literature calls for well-planned studies as methodologic limitations remain in the evidence.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Over the past five decades, the diagnosis and management of children with various malignancies have improved tremendously. As a result, an increasing number of children are long-term cancer survivors. With improved survival, however, has come an increased risk of treatment-related cardiovascular complications that can appear decades later. AREAS COVERED This review discusses the pathophysiology, epidemiology and effects of treatment-related cardiovascular complications from anthracyclines and radiotherapy in pediatric lymphoma survivors. There is a paucity of evidence-based recommendations for screening for and treatment of cancer therapy-induced cardiovascular complications. We discuss current preventive measures and strategies for their treatment. EXPERT OPINION Significant cardiac adverse effects occur due to radiation and chemotherapy received by patients treated for lymphoma. Higher lifetime cumulative doses, female sex, longer follow-up, younger age, and preexisting cardiovascular disease are associated with a higher incidence of cardiotoxicity. With deeper understanding of the mechanisms of these adverse cardiac effects and identification of driver mutations causing these effects, personalized cancer therapy to limit cardiotoxic effects while ensuring an adequate anti-neoplastic effect would be ideal. In the meantime, expanding the use of cardioprotective agents with the best evidence such as dexrazoxane should be encouraged and further studied.

Abstract
PURPOSE To systematically evaluate the effects of Electronic health (eHealth) interventions on fatigue, pain, and sleep disorders in cancer survivors. DESIGN A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted. METHODS Relevant studies were searched from five databases (MEDLINE, Embase, the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled trials, CINAHL, and PsycINFO). The comprehensive literature search was done in December 2020. Only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that examined the effects of eHealth interventions among cancer survivors were included. FINDINGS Twenty-five RCTs were included. The meta-analysis showed that eHealth interventions had a positive impact on pain interference (SMD = -0.37, 95% CI: -0.54 to -0.20, p = 0.0001) and sleep disorders (SMD = -0.43, 95% CI: -0.77 to -0.08, p = 0.02) but not on pain severity or fatigue in cancer survivors. The sensitivity and subgroup analyses indicated that the pooled results were robust and reliable. CONCLUSION eHealth interventions are effective in improving pain interference and sleep disorders in cancer survivors. Additional high-quality RCTs are needed to test the effectiveness of eHealth interventions on fatigue, pain, and sleep disorders in cancer survivors. CLINICAL RELEVANCE This systematic review and meta-analysis provides evidence to offer effective and sustainable eHealth care for symptom management among cancer survivors.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Some psychological interventions have been developed to improve cancer patients' and survivors' quality of life, well-being, and health engagement. However, studies are usually focused on effectiveness and less on factors influencing survivors' decision to participate, both subjective (e.g., needs) and contingent (e.g., factors related to participation/non participation). This scoping review identifies factors influencing participation, decline to participate, attrition and adherence in psychological interventions. METHODS 3 electronic databases were searched for published studies on psychological interventions. Retrieved publications were scanned by authors against inclusion criteria and forty-two articles were selected. Relevant information were summarized narratively. RESULTS More information is available on attrition and factors related to participation/non participation, so that future psychological interventions may employ ad-hoc tools to take into consideration patients' reasons to adhere to psychological interventions. Secondarily, non-participation/dropout is often linked to factors related to intervention' commitment and its interference with daily life. On the contrary, patients' reasons to participate often identify with the value they find in the intervention according to their personal needs and experience of illness. CONCLUSION We suggest that future research should analyze patients' representation of psychological interventions and take them into account to tailor the interventions on participants' lived experience, to improve participation.

Social isolation, magnified by the restriction of movement order during the COVID-19 pandemic, may lead to negative psychosocial health impacts among community-dwelling older adults. We, therefore, aimed to evaluate recruitment rates, data collection, and group exercises conducted through virtual technology among individuals aged 60 years and over in Malaysia. Participants were recruited from the Promoting Independence in Seniors with Arthritis (PISA) pilot cohort through social media messaging. A four-week course of virtual group exercise was offered. Anxiety and depression were assessed with the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) during the last attended follow-up of the cohort study (pre-pandemic), pre-intervention, and post-intervention. Exercise adherence was recorded using diaries with daily entries and attendance to the virtual group exercise sessions were also captured electronically daily. The outcomes of interest were changes in anxiety and depression scores from baseline to pre-intervention (pandemic-related) and post-intervention (virtual exercise related). Forty-three individuals were recruited. A significant increase in anxiety scores from baseline to pre-intervention was observed. Comparisons using repeated-measures analysis of variance between those who attendance ≥14 and <14 group exercise sessions revealed no between-within subject differences in depression scores. There was a 23% dropout rate in the post intervention survey and 60.5% of diaries were returned. Virtual group exercises could be conducted among older adults residing in a middle-income country, though recruitment would have been limited to those with internet access.

Relaxation versus exercise for improved quality of life in lymphoma survivors-a randomised controlled trial. J Cancer Surviv 2020; 15:470-480. Abstract
Purpose Lymphoma survivors experience persisting needs as a consequence of disease and treatment, which have an impact on quality of life (QoL). There is evidence supporting the use of relaxation and exercise to improve QoL, but there is no agreement on which is more beneficial. This study aims to compare a relaxation intervention versus an exercise intervention to determine which has a greater impact on QoL post-chemotherapy. Methods Eligible participants (n = 46) were randomised to a relaxation or exercise intervention for 12 weeks. QoL was assessed at baseline, 6 weeks and post-intervention using the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer QoL Questionnaire Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) questionnaire, which is a valid and reliable tool. The summary score and all EORTC domains were assessed. Results There was a significant difference in QoL post-intervention between groups (p = 0.029) while adjusting for baseline QoL, with the exercise group demonstrating a larger improvement. Within-group QoL significantly improved pre- to post-intervention in both the relaxation (p = 0.036) and exercise (p = 0.004) groups. Conclusions A self-management intervention of either exercise or relaxation can help significantly improve QoL in lymphoma survivors following chemotherapy. While exercise is preferred, a relaxation intervention would also have a beneficial impact on QoL. Implications for Cancer Survivors Lymphoma survivors should be routinely screened and those with decreased QoL referred for an exercise programme, or relaxation for survivors who are unable to exercise or choose not to. A home-based programme can have a significant positive impact on QoL and is a feasible and effective method in the current climate. Trial registration number Clinical Trials ID NCT02272751

Abstract
AIMS To integrate the overall effect of e-health based self-management on cancer-related fatigue (CRF), self-efficacy, and quality of life (QOL) among adult cancer patients. DESIGN A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials. DATA SOURCES We researched PubMed, Cumulative Index Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Web of Science and Embase up to 14 July 2019. REVIEW METHODS We conducted the review with the Cochrane Handbook (version 5.1.0) and measured the quality of evidence with the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation criteria. RESULTS Literature searching identified 15 trials with a total of 2,337 participants. Integrated results analysis of e-health based self-management demonstrated a statistically significant but small effect on CRF and self-efficacy, but no statistically significant improvement on the QOL. Meanwhile, subgroup analysis indicated that e-health based self-management had a larger effect on fatigue compared with usual care/waiting list control. CONCLUSION E-health based self-management is effective for CRF and self-efficacy, but not the QOL. More high-quality randomized control trials are warranted to confirm these conclusions. IMPACT Results showed e-health could improve fatigue and self-efficacy but not the QOL. Health providers could take into the various factors of e-health interventions when providing telehealth service. Other researchers might be inspired by the current review before they begin a study about e-health.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although people with haematological malignancies have to endure long phases of therapy and immobility, which is known to diminish their physical performance level, the advice to rest and avoid intensive exercises is still common practice. This recommendation is partly due to the severe anaemia and thrombocytopenia from which many patients suffer. The inability to perform activities of daily living restricts them, diminishes their quality of life and can influence medical therapy. OBJECTIVES In this update of the original review (published in 2014) our main objective was to re-evaluate the efficacy, safety and feasibility of aerobic physical exercise for adults suffering from haematological malignancies considering the current state of knowledge. SEARCH METHODS We searched the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (CENTRAL) (the Cochrane Library, 2018, Issue 7) and MEDLINE (1950 to July 2018) trials registries (ISRCTN, EU clinical trials register and clinicaltrials.gov) and conference proceedings. We did not apply any language restrictions. Two review authors independently screened search results, disagreements were solved by discussion. SELECTION CRITERIA We included randomised controlled trials (RCTs) comparing an aerobic physical exercise intervention, intending to improve the oxygen system, in addition to standard care with standard care only for adults suffering from haematological malignancies. We also included studies that evaluated aerobic exercise in addition to strength training. We excluded studies that investigated the effect of training programmes that were composed of yoga, tai chi chuan, qigong or similar types of exercise. We also excluded studies exploring the influence of strength training without additive aerobic exercise as well as studies assessing outcomes without any clinical impact. DATA COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS Two review authors independently screened search results, extracted data and assessed the quality of trials. We used risk ratios (RRs) for adverse events, mortality and 100-day survival, standardised mean differences (SMD) for quality of life (QoL), fatigue, and physical performance, and mean differences (MD) for anthropometric measurements. MAIN RESULTS In this update, nine trials could be added to the nine trials of the first version of the review, thus we included eighteen RCTs involving 1892 participants. Two of these studies (65 participants) did not provide data for our key outcomes (they analysed laboratory values only) and one study (40 patients) could not be included in the meta-analyses, as results were presented as changes scores only and not as endpoint scores. One trial (17 patients) did not report standard errors and could also not be included in meta-analyses. The overall potential risk of bias in the included trials is unclear, due to poor reporting.The majority of participants suffered from acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL), acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), malignant lymphoma and multiple myeloma, and eight trials randomised people receiving stem cell transplantation. Mostly, the exercise intervention consisted of various walking intervention programmes with different duration and intensity levels.Our primary endpoint overall survival (OS) was only reported in one of these studies. The study authors found no evidence for a difference between both arms (RR = 0.67; P = 0.112). Six trials (one trial with four arms, analysed as two sub-studies) reported numbers of deceased participants during the course of the study or during the first 100 to 180 days. For the outcome mortality, there is no evidence for a difference between participants exercising and those in the control group (RR 1.10; 95% CI 0.79 to 1.52; P = 0.59; 1172 participants, low-certainty evidence).For the following outcomes, higher numbers indicate better outcomes, with 1 being the best result for the standardised mean differences. Eight studies analysed the influence of exercise intervention on QoL. It remains unclear, whether physical exercise improves QoL (SMD 0.11; 95% CI -0.03 to 0.24; 1259 participants, low-certainty evidence). There is also no evidence for a difference for the subscales physical functioning (SMD 0.15; 95% CI -0.01 to 0.32; 8 trials, 1329 participants, low-certainty evidence) and anxiety (SMD 0.03; 95% CI -0.30 to 0.36; 6 trials, 445 participants, very low-certainty evidence). Depression might slightly be improved by exercising (SMD 0.19; 95% CI 0.0 to 0.38; 6 trials, 445 participants, low-certainty evidence). There is moderate-certainty evidence that exercise probably improves fatigue (SMD 0.31; 95% CI 0.13 to 0.48; 9 trials, 826 patients).Six trials (435 participants) investigated serious adverse events. We are very uncertain, whether additional exercise leads to more serious adverse events (RR 1.39; 95% CI 0.94 to 2.06), based on very low-certainty evidence.In addition, we are aware of four ongoing trials. However, none of these trials stated, how many patients they will recruit and when the studies will be completed, thus, potential influence of these trials for the current analyses remains unclear. AUTHORS' CONCLUSIONS Eighteen, mostly small RCTs did not identify evidence for a difference in terms of mortality. Physical exercise added to standard care might improve fatigue and depression. Currently, there is inconclusive evidence regarding QoL, physical functioning, anxiety and SAEs .We need further trials with more participants and longer follow-up periods to evaluate the effects of exercise intervention for people suffering from haematological malignancies. To enhance comparability of study data, development and implementation of core sets of measuring devices would be helpful.

Abstract
PURPOSE Physical activity promotion has mostly focused on theories of intention-formation, with the assumption that positive intentions will lead to behaviour. Though necessary, exercise intentions alone are often not sufficient to improve physical activity behaviour. The Multi-Process Action Control (M-PAC) framework builds on previous intention-based theories by including both determinants of intention formation and its translation into behaviour. The purpose of this study was to describe the process of developing a self-guided web-based intervention to promote physical activity among adults using the M-PAC model. PROCEDURES The development process consisted of the following three phases: 1) Intervention planning: determine intervention needs and requirements; 2) Intervention development: use an iterative process to design a web-based physical activity intervention based on the M-PAC framework; 3) Pilot testing: conduct usability and acceptability assessment on the web-based intervention to further enhance user experience. PRINCIPAL RESULTS The intervention planning phase suggested that there is a need for web-based physical activity interventions and there is currently no web-based intervention designed using the M-PAC model. In phase two, we adopted an iterative process to develop a 10-week self-guided web-based intervention to help adults (>18 years of age) to meet 150 min of moderate to vigorous physical activity per week. The pilot testing phase yielded valuable feedback on usability, content, and design of the web-based intervention. MAJOR CONCLUSIONS The development of a web-based physical activity intervention using the M-PAC model could further enhance the effectiveness of web-based interventions and have a significant impact on extending the reach of existing physical activity promotion programs. This study has reinforced the importance of an iterative development process that involves a multi-disciplinary team to design a web-based intervention to promote physical activity. The process enabled the team to clarify the needs for an intervention for our target users, and provided valuable feedback on the design and content of the web-based intervention. Future studies are now needed to evaluate the effectiveness of our web-based intervention.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Physically active cancer survivors have a reduced risk of cancer recurrence and mortality. Given the health advantages of active lifestyles in cancer survivorship, as well as the barriers preventing physical activity (e.g., geography, time) there is a need to develop and evaluate effective physical activity interventions that employ distance-based (i.e., non face-to-face) approaches. The primary objective of this study was to provide a systematic review and meta-analysis of present-day (2013-2018) distance-based physical activity behaviour change interventions for cancer survivors. METHODS PubMed and Embase databases were searched from November 2012 up to June 2018. Studies were included that met the following criteria: (1) written in English, (2) included adult cancer survivors (either undergoing or completed treatment), (3) was a controlled intervention study, and (4) the intervention was distance-based (delivered via distance) with no more than one face-to-face contact. Review Manager 5 (RevMan 5) software was used to perform a meta-analysis on all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that presented self-reported or objectively measured physical activity post-intervention means and standard deviations. Risk of bias for each study was assessed using The Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool. RESULTS We included 29 RCTs. Across the 29 studies, the total number of participants in these studies was 5218. Median sample size was 95 and ranged from 19 to 463. Thirteen (45%) studies focused on breast cancer survivors and median months since diagnosis was 24 (range 6-79). Moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical activity data from 24 RCTs were included in the meta-analysis and indicated an overall small effect (standardized mean difference) of 0.21 (95% CI 0.11-0.32) favoring the interventions. CONCLUSIONS Intervention effects on physical activity were small. Drawing conclusions from these trials remains challenging given major limitations of these trials included poor methodological design, small sample sizes, lack of statistical power, homogeneous samples (e.g., caucasian, young, well-educated), and poor measures of physical activity (e.g., self-report). Relying on the present landscape of distance-based programs aiming to facilitate physical activity among cancer survivors may not be prudent.
