Abstract
It is extremely significant while challenging to accurately detect low-levels of perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acid compounds (PFCAs) in environmental water. Herein, adopting perfluorotetradecanoic acid as the dummy template, selective molecularly imprinted composites (CNTs@ILs@MIPs) grafted carbon nanotubes integrating hydrophilic ionic liquids were successfully prepared via surface imprinting and dummy-template imprinting techniques. The obtained CNTs@ILs@MIPs were applied as selective extraction adsorbent for specifically extract PFCAs in environmental water coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry quantification. Detailed studies were conducted on the main preparation parameters and extraction conditions. The CNTs@ILs@MIPs displayed excellent adsorptivity, and the established method exhibited low LODs (0.60-1.64 ng L-1), wide linearity with R2 above 0.9994, and satisfactory adsorption recoveries (80.5-112.5%) for seven PFCAs. This proposed method provides a new applicable approach for the detection of targeted pollutants in environmental water by utilizing the high affinity and recognition ability of molecularly imprinted carbon nanotube functional materials modified with ionic liquids.

Abstract
Magnetic multi-template molecularly imprinted polymers (M-mt-MIPs) were successfully synthesized by surface imprinting and multi-template imprinting strategy, using polydopamine coated magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes as supporting materials, five typical chlorophenols (CPs) as templates, methacrylic acid as functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as cross-linker. Compared to non-imprinted polymers (NIPs), the as-prepared M-mt-MIPs showed high adsorption capacity (32.58‒80.63 mg g-1), rapid mass transfer and specific selectivity for the five targeted CPs, which were applied as magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) adsorbents. Parameters affecting MSPE efficiency were detailed investigated, such as adsorbents dosage, sample pH, extraction time, type and volume of desorption solvent and salt effect. Combined with HPLC-DAD, a simple, rapid and sensitive method was established, showing good linearity (2‒200 μg L-1), low limits of detection (0.32‒0.49 μg L-1), and high enrichment factors (35.2‒108). The developed M-mt-MIPs-MSPE-HPLC method was applied to enrich and determine CPs in tannery wastewater, wet-blue and crust leather, and satisfactory spiking recoveries were attained in the range of 73.95‒109.7% with relative standard deviations (RSDs) of 2.13-8.48%. This study provided a new alternative material and method to rapid simultaneously extract and analyze low concentration of typical CPs in complicated matrices.

Abstract
An amide-based covalent organic framework (COF) was successfully synthesized using the reaction between 1,3,5-trimesoyl chloride and ethylenediamine. The structure and morphology of the COF were characterized using Fourier-transform infrared spectra, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area analysis. The COF was employed as a solid-phase extraction adsorbent for the sampling and preconcentration of chlorophenols from industrial wastewater samples prior to high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection. The experimental parameters influencing the extraction efficiency including type and volume of eluent solvent, sample solution volume, salt concentration, sample flow rate, and sample solution pH were investigated and optimized using a response surface methodology employing Box-Behnken-design. Under optimized conditions, calibration curves exhibited good linearities over the range of 0.003-10 µg/mL with determination coefficients (R2) ranging from 0.9982 to 0.9999. The method's limits of detection ranged from 0.001 to 0.01 µg/mL. Good repeatability was achieved with relative standard deviations below 4.7%. The developed procedure utilizing the COF adsorbent was successfully applied to determine chlorophenols accurately and precisely in various industrial wastewater samples.

Abstract
Efficiently detecting diamide insecticides in environmental water is challenging due to their low concentrations and complex matrix interferences. In this study, we developed ionic liquids (ILs)-incorporated magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (IL-MMIPs) for the detection of diamide insecticides, capitalizing on the advantages of ILs and quick magnetic separation through surface imprinting. Tetrachlorantraniliprole was used as the template, and a specific IL, 1-vinyl-3-ethylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([VEIm][PF6]), was employed as the functional monomer. Various synthesis conditions were investigated to optimize adsorption efficiency. The prepared IL-MMIPs were successfully employed as adsorbents in magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) to selectively extract, separate, and quantify three types of diamide insecticides from water samples using HPLC-UV detection. Under optimal conditions, the analytical method achieved low limits of detection (0.69 ng mL-1, 0.64 ng mL-1, 0.59 ng mL-1 for cyantraniliprole, chlorantraniliprole and tetrachlorantraniliprole, respectively). The method also displayed a wide linear range (0.003-10 μg mL-1 for cyantraniliprole and chlorantraniliprole, and 0.004-10 μg mL-1 for tetrachlorantraniliprole, respectively) with satisfactory coefficients (R2≥0.9996), and low relative standard deviation (RSD≤2.55%). Additionally, extraction recoveries fell within the range of 79.4%-109%. The results clearly demonstrate that IL-MMIPs exhibit exceptional recognition and rebinding capabilities. The developed IL-MMIPs-MSPE-HPLC-UV method is straightforward and rapid, making it suitable for the detection and analysis of three kinds of diamide insecticides in environmental water.

Abstract
Herein, a novel carboxyl-functionalized porous organic polymer (COOH-POP) was prepared as sorbent. Due to multiple hydrogen bonds and π-π interactions between COOH-POP and phenols, COOH-POP shows good enrichment ability and very fast adsorption rate for phenols. Then, an analytical method was developed for determination of five phenols (2-chlorophenol, bisphenol A, 2,6-dichlorophenol, 2,4-dichlorophenol and p-tert-butylphenol) in bottled water, lemon juice, peach juice and honey samples using COOH-POP as solid phase extraction sorbent in combination with high performance liquid chromatography. Under optimal conditions, the COOH-POP based method gave the detection limits (S/N = 3) of 0.02-0.10 ng mL-1 for bottled water, 0.03-0.12 ng mL-1 for lemon juice, 0.03-0.25 ng mL-1 for peach juice and 0.7-1.5 ng g-1 for honey samples. The recoveries for spiked samples ranged from 84.0 % to 119.0 % with relative standard deviation less than 7.6 %. This study provides a new yet effective method for enrichment of phenols by designing carboxyl-functionalized porous organic polymer as sorbent.

Abstract
A magnetic needle headspace single-drop microextraction (MN-HS-SDME) method coupled to HPLC/UV has been developed. Trihexyl(tetradecyl)phosphonium chloride was employed as an ionic liquid (IL) solvent for the headspace extraction of some chlorophenol (CP) compounds from wastewater samples. Despite of the nonmagnetic character of the IL, a significant improvement in the extraction efficiency was obtained by the magnetization of the single-drop microextraction needle using a pair of permanent disk magnets. A simplex method for the fast optimization of the experimental conditions (e.g., stirring speed, ionic strength, pH, extraction time and temperature) was used. The coefficients of determination (R2) varied between 0.9932 and 0.9989, the limits of detection were from 0.004 to 0.007 μg mL-1 and the relative recoveries were in the range of 88-120% for the studied analytes. The developed MN-HS-SDME HPLC/UV method was successfully applied to the determination of CPs in industrial wastewater.

Abstract
A magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was synthesized by precipitation polymerization utilizing Fe3O4@SiO2-MPS as a magnetic core, itaconic acid as a functional monomer, azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as a cross linker. It was then applied as a nanosorbent for dispersive magnetic micro solid phase extraction (DM-µ-SPE) and determination of valsartan in biological fluids. The morphology and structure of magnetic MIP were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, Field Emission Scanning electron microscopy, Vibrating sample magnetometer, Energy dispersive x-ray analysis, and Thermogravimetric analysis. The influence of operation conditions on sorption, such as pH (4-10), contact time (10-25 min), initial concentration (1-30 mg L-1), and temperature (25-40 °C) was investigated. After the extraction step, the valsartan concentration was determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometer at 253 nm. The isotherm and kinetic of valsartan sorption were best fitted by the Langmuir model (R2 = 0.987) and the Pseudo second-order kinetic model (R2 = 0.971), respectively. The maximum monolayer sorption capacity for magnetic MIP was obtained to be 4.56 mg g-1. The analytical approach demonstrated favorable figures of merit, with a linear dynamic range of 10-100 µg L-1, a low detection limit of 0.56 µg L-1, and an acceptable preconcentration factor of 5 acquired in optimum conditions. The recoveries of the suggested technique at three spiked levels of analysis were in the range of 101 %-102 %. Valsartan was extracted from various real samples (urine and human blood plasma samples) utilizing the proposed magnetic nanosorbent, and the results exhibited that magnetic MIP was favorable for extraction and measurement of trace amounts of valsartan in biological samples.

Abstract
The modern development in the agricultural production has huge influential factors being highly beneficial and also includes some health hazards. Under the class of chlorophenols, 2,4,6-trichlorophenol is a widely used chemical which remains as a major pollutant in the environment. The detection of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol was initiated as a controlling measure to decrease the seriousness prevailing in the ecosystem. The electrochemical and UV-vis absorption sensing platform are simple and low-cost detection techniques with precise and sensitive analysis. Cadmium tin oxide integrated with the reduced graphene oxide was employed as a nanohybrid for the construction of the working electrode. The structural and morphological analysis confirmed the high degree of crystallinity of the nanocomposite with nanorod formation. The high surface area, with high charge carrier mobility, and increased electrical conductivity of the material boosted the 2,4,6-trichlorophenol detection. The active surface area was calculated to be 0.068 cm-1, 0.089 cm-1, 0.118 cm-1 and 0.146 cm-1 for all the modified electrodes. The resistance of the electrodes was about 91.4 Ω, 72.9 Ω, 48.8 Ω and 41.6 Ω. The linear range of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol was 0.019 μM-0.299 μM and 1.299 μM-1678.97 μM in electrochemical sensing and 10.99 μM-24.84 μM in UV detection. The obtained limit of detection with the formulation 3σ/SD was about 3.05 nM and 80 nM with sensitivity about 14.01 μA μM-1 cm-2. The real sample detection in environmental real samples showed good recovery results. The specific selectivity, good repeatability, reproducibility and stability analysis proves the good sensing parameters. Thus, the fabricated electrode is highly sufficient of sensing 2,4,6-trichlorophenol. These excellent features of the material can be applied for several other applications which will provide good performances.

Abstract
Three hydroxyl-functionalized hypercrosslinked polymers (HCP-POL, HCP-HQ and HCP-PG) were synthesized by Friedel-Crafts reaction. The HCP-HQ displayed the largest surface area and highest adsorption capacity for chlorophenols (CPs). Thus, the HCP-HQ was further modified with magnetism to obtain M-HCP-HQ. An efficient magnetic solid-phase extraction method with M-HCP-HQ as adsorbent was developed for the first time to simultaneously extract four CPs from water and honey samples before analysis by high performance liquid chromatography-diode array detection. Under optimized conditions, the low detection limits (S/N = 3) were obtained to be 0.06-0.10 ng mL-1 for water and 0.80-1.75 ng g-1 for honey. The method recovery was 80.7%-119%, with relative standard deviations below 9.5%. The enrichment factors of the CPs were in the range of 57-220. The extraction mechanism could be attributed to the strong polar interaction, hydrogen bonding and π-π interactions between the M-HCP-HQ and CPs. The M-HCP-HQ based method can be served as a reliable and sensitive tool for detection CPs in water and honey samples.

Abstract
The detection and quantitation of bisphenol A (BPA) in the environment and food products has been a subject of considerable interest. BPA, a diphenylmethane derivative is a well-known industrial raw material with wide range of applications. It is a well-known endocrine disruptor and acts as an estrogen mimic. BPA is an environmental health concern and its accumulation in hydro-geological cycles is a matter of serious ecological peril. This review basically assesses various chemically modified electrodes composed of diverse components that have been employed to recognize BPA in different matrices. Electrochemical sensors prepared using graphene materials in combination with metals and polymers for selective detection of BPA have been discussed extensively. The emphasis is on detection of BPA in various samples encountered in routine use such as plastic bottles, receipts, baby feed bottles, milk samples, mineralized water, tissue paper, DVDs, and others. Although research in this field is in the exploratory stage, deeper insights into fundamental studies of sensing systems, fast analysis of real samples and validation of sensors are some of the factors that need major impetus. It is expected that chemically modified electrode-based sensing systems will soon take over as a viable option for monitoring diverse pollutants.

Abstract
Formaldehyde, the simplest molecule of the aldehyde group, is a gaseous compound at room temperature and pressure, is colorless, and has a strong, pungent odor. It is soluble in water, ethanol, and diethyl ether and is used in solution or polymerized form. Its maximum daily dosage established by the EPA is 0.2 μg g−1 of body weight whereas that established by the WHO is between 1.5 and 14 mg g−1: it is in category 1A of carcinogens by IARC. From an analytical point of view, formaldehyde is traditionally analyzed by HPLC with UV-Vis detection. Nowadays, the need to analyze this compound quickly and in situ is increasing. This work proposes a critical review of methods for analyzing formaldehyde in food using sensing methods. A search carried out on the Scopus database documented more than 50 papers published in the last 5 years. The increase in interest in the recognition of the presence of formaldehyde in food has occurred in recent years, above all due to an awareness of the damage it can cause to human health. This paper focuses on some new sensors by analyzing their performance and comparing them with various no-sensing methods but focusing on the determination of formaldehyde in food products. The sensors reported are of various types, but they all share a good LOD, good accuracy, and a reduced analysis time. Some of them are also biodegradable and others have a very low cost, many are portable and easy to use, therefore usable for the recognition of food adulterations on site.

Abstract
Due to their highly tunable nature and outstanding physicochemical properties, ionic liquids (ILs) have been widely reported for use in the synthesis of multitudinous magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs). IL-based magnetic nanoparticles (IL-MNPs) have great potential in magnetic dispersive solid-phase extraction (MDSPE). At present, IL-MNPs have been successfully applied in the pretreatment of MDSPE samples from medicines, pesticides, veterinary drugs, heavy metals, dyes, additives, and proteins in agricultural products, foods and beverages, environmental water, and biological samples. In this review, the preparation of IL-MNPs and their application in MDSPE are comprehensively summarized. The structural characteristics of the introduced ILs used to prepare the IL-MNPs and the synthetic routes employed to obtain the IL-MNPs are described, including physical coating and chemical bonding methods. The IL-MNPs are then classified and described according to different modified materials, including silica-based materials, carbon-based materials, metal-organic frameworks, molecularly imprinted polymers and other interesting large/small molecules. Finally, the research prospects and development directions of IL-MNPs in the context of MDSPE are further identified.

Abstract
An aggregation-induced emission monomer-based fluorescent molecularly imprinted poly(ionic liquid) (AIE-FMIPIL) was synthesized for the first time with an AIE probe 4-(1,2,2-triphenylvinyl)phenyl acrylate (TPE), and an ionic liquid as dual functional monomers, and an ionic liquid as cross-linker. AIE-FMIPIL displayed a sphere-like shape and its average diameter was 410 nm. The absolute quantum yields of TPE and AIE-FMIPIL were 9.23% and 12.61%, respectively. The synergetic effect of TPE in the AIE-FMIPIL framework contributed to the higher quantum yield of AIE-FMIPIL. 4-Nitrophenol (4-NP) efficiently quenched AIE-FMIPIL with high fluorescence based on the Förster resonance energy transfer mechanism. The synthesized AIE-FMIPIL sensor was highly sensitive for 4-NP detection (linear range, 0.02-1.5 μM) in the optimal detection condition, with a low detection limit of 10 nM (S/N = 3). AIE-FMIPIL showed increased sensitivity and quenching efficiency compared with AIE-FMIP comprising a traditional monomer and cross-linker. AIE-FMIPIL exhibited selective binding to 4-NP because of the imprinted sites. AIE-FMIPIL was adopted to detect 4-NP in environmental samples.

Abstract
Coffee is one of the most consumed beverages in the world. Coffee provides to the consumer special sensorial characteristics, can help to prevent diseases, improves physical performance and increases focus. In contrast, coffee consumption supplies a significant source of substances with carcinogenic and genotoxic potential such as furan, hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), furfural (F), and acrylamide (AA). The present review addresses the issues around the presence of such toxic substances formed in Maillard reaction (MR) during thermal treatments in food processing, from chemical and, toxicological perspectives, occurrences in coffee and other foods processed by heating. In addition, current strategies advantages and disadvantages are presented along with application of molecular imprinting technology (MIT) and poly (ionic liquid) s (PIL) as an alternative to reduce the furan, HMF, F and AA content in coffee and other foods.

Abstract
Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have aroused great attention as a new material for the removal or detection of pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs). However, it is not clear about the superiority and deficiency of MIPs in the process of removing or detecting PPCPs. Herein, we evaluated the performance of MIPs in the aspects of adsorption capacity, binding affinity, adsorption rate, and compatibility to other techniques, and proposed ways to improve its performance. Without regard to the selectivity of MIPs, for the PPCPs adsorption, MIPs surprisingly did not always perform better than the conventional adsorbents (non-imprinted polymers, biochar, activated carbon and resin), indicating that MIPs should be used where selectivity is crucial, for example recovery of specific PPCPs in an environmental sample extraction process. Compared to the traditional solid-phase extraction for PPCPs detection pretreatment, the usage of MIPs as substitute extraction agents could obtain high selectivity of specific substance, due to the uniformity and effectiveness of the specific sites. A promising development in the future would be to combine other simple and rapid quantitative technologies, such as electro/photochemical sensor and catalytic degradation, to realize rapid and sensitive detection of trace PPCPs.

Abstract
A sensitive and time-saving method for the determination of multi-pesticide residues in honey was developed using magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) coupled with liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Magnetic polymer (N-vinyl pyrrolidone-divinyl benzene) (MVP-DB) was fabricated and employed as the adsorbent for extraction and enrichment of multi-pesticide residues in honey. MVP-DB contains lipophilic benzene ring, divinyl group, and hydrophilic pyrrolidone group. The good hydrophilic and hydrophobic structure of MVP-DB not only ensures sufficient dispersion in honey samples, but also enhances the ability to enrich target analytes. The predominant factors affecting the recoveries of analytes were systematically investigated, affording a rapid and highly efficient MSPE method. Under the optimal conditions, the method was verified, including the recovery, precision, linearity, sensitivity, and matrix effects. The results displayed that these pesticides showed good linearity in the range of 2-250 µg L-1. The MLOQs were 0.5 µg kg-1. The recoveries of pesticides in honey at the pre-spiked concentrations of 0.5-25 µg kg-1 were 61.6%-112% with RSDs less than 18.2%. Hence, the developed method displayed good application prospect for the determination of multi-pesticide residues in honey samples.

Abstract
Transition metal chalcogenides (TMCs) have great potential in diverse electrochemical technologies owing to their unique characteristics. In the present work, we portray the design and synthesis of Vanadium selenide (V2Se9)/reduced graphene oxide (rGO) forming a two-dimensional (2D) hybrid nanocomposite via a simple hydrothermal method. The successfully synthesized nanocomposite underwent in-depth surface and morphological characterizations by XRD, Raman spectroscopy, XPS, TEM, STEM and its potential as an electro catalyst was investigated by using glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for the detection of 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (TCP). The structural features favored a high charge transfer ratio, high surface area as well as excellent conductivity and catalytic activity. The V2Se9/rGO/GCE modified electrode showed a low charge transfer resistance (Rct) of 54.057 Ω cm2, a decent detection limit (LOD) of 35.07 nM and a very high sensitivity of 22 μA μM-1 cm-2 in a working range of 0.001 μM-1150 μM. This is due to the active proton interaction, surface enhancement, and positive synergistic effect between rGO and V2Se9. The proposed sensor has good detection potential in agricultural soil, river water, fish, and beverage samples like wine and apple juice. The obtained results from our investigation would elucidate the application of the catalyst in electrochemical sensors.

Abstract
Polydopamine (PDA)-coated magnetic multiwalled carbon nanotube (M-MWCNT) composites were synthesized in two facile preparation steps, and were used as adsorbents for magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for simultaneous extraction, enrichment and determination of five kinds of typical chlorophenols (CPs) in water samples. The as-prepared magnetic composites showed excellent magnetic properties and high thermal stability. Various main parameters influencing the extraction efficiency of MSPE were systematically investigated. Under the optimized MSPE-HPLC conditions, a high enrichment factor (EF) was obtained in the range of 85-112 for 2-chlorophenol (2-CP), 4-chlorophenol (4-CP), 2,6-dichlorophenol (2,6-DCP), 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP) and 2,4,6-trichlorophenol (2,4,6-TCP). Good linearity was obtained in the range of 2.0-200 μg L-1 for 2-CP and 4-CP and 1.0-200 μg L-1 for 2,6-DCP, 2,4-DCP and 2,4,6-TCP, with a correlation coefficient (R2) higher than 0.9964. The limits of detection (LODs) and the limits of quantification (LOQs) were in the range of 0.10-0.31 μg L-1 and 0.35-1.03 μg L-1, respectively. The intraday and interday precisions evaluated using relative standard deviation (RSD) values were in the range of 1.05-2.25% and 1.88-2.83%, respectively. The validated MSPE-HPLC method was also successfully applied to analyze five kinds of CPs in tap water, lake water, river water and seawater samples, and satisfactory recoveries were obtained in the range of 76.87-106.5% with RSDs of 1.64-6.78%.

Abstract
In this work, a polypyrrole (PPy)/TiO2 nanocomposite coating was fabricated by the direct electropolymerization of pyrrole on annealed TiO2 nanoparticles and evaluated as a novel direct immersion solid phase microextraction (DI-SPME) fiber coating for extraction of trace amounts of pollutants in environmental water samples. The functionalized fiber is mechanically and chemically stable, and can be easily prepared in a highly reproducible manner. The effects of the pyrrole monomer concentration, polymerization voltage and polymerization time on the fiber were discussed. Surface morphological and compositional analyses revealed that the composite coating of nano polypyrrole and titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2NPs) uniformly doped the Ti substrate. The as-fabricated fiber exhibited good extraction capability for phenolic compounds in combination with high performance liquid chromatography-UV detection (HPLC-UV). At the optimum SPME conditions, the calibration curves were linear (R2 ≥ 0.9965). LODs and LOQs of less than 0.026 μg L−1 and 0.09 μg L−1 , respectively, were achieved, and RSDs were in the range 3.5–7.2%. The results obtained in this work suggest that PPy/TiO2 is a promising coating material for future applications of SPME and related sample preparation techniques. A PPy/TiO2 nanocomposite coating was fabricated by direct electropolymerization of pyrrole on annealed TiO2 nanoparticles and evaluated as a novel direct immersion solid phase microextraction fiber coating for the extraction of trace pollutants in water.![]()

Abstract
In this work, a novel composite adsorbent was successfully prepared by zeolite imidazolate framework-8/fluorinated graphene layer-by-layer covalently bonded on SiO2 microspheres, and followed to be packed into micro pipette tip for extraction of trace chlorophenols prior to their detection by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The morphology and structure of adsorbent material was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive spectrometer, X-ray diffraction, and N2 adsorption. The parameters including the amount of adsorbent, sampling volume, sampling rate, sample pH, and desorption solvent affected the extraction performance was systematically investigated by pipette tip solid-phase extraction (PT-SPE) coupled with HPLC analysis. Under the optimized condition, the linearity of this method ranged from 20 to 2000 ng mL-1 for chlorophenols (CPs) with determination coefficient higher than 0.99. The limit of detection (at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3) were in the range 2-20 ng mL-1 for tap water and black tea drinks, 0.2-2 μg g-1 for honey. The relative recoveries of the CPs from spiked samples ranged from 71.8% to 104.7%, with relative standard deviations less than 6.2%. The filled extraction tube exhibited good stability and reproducibility. The proposed method has been successfully used to detect CPs in water and drinks with satisfactory recoveries.

Abstract
A sensitive electrochemical sensor was proposed via combining molecular imprinting technique with the graphene material-doped titanium nitride. The novel graphene with 3-dimensional structure displayed more binding sites and better electrochemical properties. Moreover, this study focused on coating pyrrole with electrical conductivity on the surface of silica as a monomer, and BPA as the template. The interaction made specific detection possible, between monomer and template. With a series of characterizations and electrochemical measurements, CPE (carbon paste electrode)-contained TiN-rGO composite was proved to have conductivity improved. Also, the modified polymer performed well selectivity which reflected in that it was almost impervious to distractions. Under optimized conditions, a linear dependence was observed from 0.5 to 100 nmol L-1 with a detection limit of 0.19 nmol L-1. The sensor explicated outstanding repeatability via repetitive experiment with the RSD of 0.02%, while the results of stability experiment reached the RSD of 1.90%. Eventually, it was used to analyze BPA residues in 3 kinds of daily supplies. The results indicated the potential of the sensor in environmental detection prospectively.

Abstract
A coumarin-based fluorescent molecularly imprinted poly (ionic liquid) (FL-MIPIL) was prepared using a new coumarin-based alkenyl fluorescent ionic liquid (coumarin-FL-IL) as the functional monomer, IL [V2C4(mim)2][(PF6)2] and ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate as the cross-linkers, and 4-NP as the template molecule. The absolute quantum yields of coumarin-FL-IL and FL-MIPIL were 7.26 % and 30.66 %, respectively. As a result of the electron transfer between coumarin-FL-IL which contains amino groups and 4-NP bearing hydroxyl groups, FL-MIPIL fluorescence was effectively quenched by 4-NP. The prepared FL-MIPIL sensor can rapidly respond to 4-NP within 60 s. The FL-MIPIL sensor had good linear response to 4-NP from 0.001-7.5 μM and low detection limit of 0.5 nM (S/N = 3). The FL-MIPIL sensor exhibited high sensitivity and good selectivity for 4-NP. The outstanding performance of FL-MIPIL could be ascribed to high fluorescence intensity of FL-MIPIL without matrixes and more interactions between FL-MIPIL and 4-NP. The FL-MIPIL sensor has successfully applied to the determination of 4-NP in lake, rain and waste water samples, river sediment, soil and urine samples.

Abstract
In this work, a simple and sensitive method based on Fe3O4/multi-walled carbon nanotubes/ionic liquid (Fe3O4/MWCNTs/IL) as the adsorbent for magnetic solid phase extraction coupled with high performance liquid chromatography was developed for the determination of trace fluoroquinolones in foods. After a simple one-pot solvothermal synthesis, Fe3O4/MWCNTs were further modified with an amine-terminated ionic liquid to enhance their dispersibility and extraction capacity. The morphology, structure and magnetic properties of the composite adsorbent were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction spectrometry and vibrating-sample magnetometry. Under the optimized extraction and detection conditions, the studied fluoroquinolones were enriched effectively and separated well and their UV signals were linear to their concentrations in the range of 4-1000 ng mL-1, with correlation coefficients ranging from 0.9958 to 0.9990. The enrichment factors were 29.1-43.9 fold and the limits of detection were 0.33-0.78 ng mL-1. The spiked recoveries were 85.4-105.9% for milk and 85.2-103.7% for pork samples, with relative standard deviations of 0.8-5.7%. The developed method provided a fast, sensitive and reliable determination platform for fluoroquinolones in complex real samples.

Abstract
In this study, a facile synthesis of two ionized carbon dots (CDs-2 and CDs-3) is reported, in which different ionic pairs are formed at the surface of the carbon core. In contrast to CDs-3, the accumulation of carbon core can be clearly observed in the TEM image of CDs-2. This is due to the linkage of the dibromine alkyl group. Compared with naked CDs in the absence of the ionic pair, the maximum emission wavelength undergoes a red-shift of nearly 60 nm. Moreover, protic solvents (water, ethanol and N,N'-dimethyl formamide) have an apparent effect on the emission intensities of CDs-2 and CDs-3. The time-resolved average lifetimes of CDs-2 and CDs-3 are calculated as 56.34 ns and 54.50 ns, respectively. Furthermore, they both have much better fluorescence stability in the solution with pH ranging from 2 to 11 due to the presence of the imidazolium cation. It is interesting to see that CDs-2 and CDs-3 have much different responses towards Cu2+ and Fe2+. The CDs-3 solution generates clear fluorescence quenching when treated with Fe2+. In brief, we believe that these findings can inspire more research developments in the synthesis and further application of functional CDs.

Abstract
Ionic liquids (ILs) are a group of non-conventional salts with melting points below 100 °C. Apart from their negligible vapor pressure at room temperature, high thermal stability, and impressive solvation properties, ILs are characterized by their tunability. Given such nearly infinite combinations of cations and anions, and the easy modification of their structures, ILs with specific properties can be synthesized. These characteristics have attracted attention regarding their use as extraction phases in analytical sample preparation methods, particularly in liquid-phase extraction methods. Given the liquid nature of most common ILs, their incorporation in analytical sample preparation methods using solid sorbents requires the preparation of solid derivatives, such as polymeric ILs, or the combination of ILs with other materials to prepare solid IL-based composites. In this sense, many solid composites based on ILs have been prepared with improved features, including magnetic particles, carbonaceous materials, polymers, silica materials, and metal-organic frameworks, as additional materials forming the composites. This review aims to give an overview on the preparation and applications of IL-based composites in analytical sample preparation in the period 2017–2020, paying attention to the role of the IL material in those composites to understand the effect of the individual components in the sorbent.

Abstract
Poly(ionic liquid)-modified stationary phases can have multiple interactions with solutes. However, in most stationary phases, separation selectivity is adjusted by changing the poly(ionic liquid) anions. In this work, two poly(ionic liquid)-modified silica stationary phases were prepared by introducing the cyano or tetrazolyl group on the pendant imidazolium cation on the polymer chains. Various analytes were selected to investigate their mechanism of retention in the stationary phases using different mobile phases. Two poly(ionic liquid)-modified stationary phases can provide various interactions toward solutes. Compared to the cyano-functionalized poly(ionic liquid) stationary phase, the tetrazolyl-functionalized poly(ionic liquid) stationary phase provides additional cation-exchange and π-π interactions, resulting in different separation selectivity toward analytes. Finally, applicability of the developed stationary phases was demonstrated by the efficient separation of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Abstract
A layered porous organic framework (L-POF) with high surface area and porous volume was used as a novel adsorbent for adsorption of chlorophenols (CPs). The L-POF showed much higher adsorption capacity for four CPs (2-CP, 3-CP, 2,3-CP, 2,4-CP) compared with corresponding amorphous POF and some commercial adsorbents. Then, an L-POF-based solid-phase extraction method combined with high-performance liquid chromatography for analyzing CPs at the wavelength of 280 nm in water and honey samples was established. Under the optimum conditions, four CPs exhibited good linearity in the range 0.10-80.0 ng mL-1 for water and 2-400 ng g-1 for honey samples with determination coefficient r2 > 0.996. The method has low limits of detection of 0.03-0.10 ng mL-1 for water and 0.5-1.0 ng g-1 for honey samples. The method presented satisfactory precision and accuracy with relative standard deviations ≤ 7.8% and recoveries of 80-115%. High enrichment factors of 123-190 for water and 63-97 for honey were obtained. The validated method was successfully used to determine CPs in water and honey samples. The L-POF also displayed prominent adsorption performance for many other dyes and organic contaminants. This suggests that it can be an ideal candidate as adsorbent for wide application in separation and analysis. Graphical Abstract.

Integrating ionic liquids with molecular imprinting technology for biorecognition and biosensing: A review. Biosens Bioelectron 2019; 149:111830. Abstract
As promising alternatives to natural receptors, artificial molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have received great attention in biotechnology. Nevertheless, some bottlenecks limit their further development, including low adsorption capacity, poor recognition efficiency, slow response, and insipid aqueous compatibility. Ionic liquids (ILs) show the features of tailored structures and properties, high conductivity, good solubility, and excellent stability. Because of these advantages, they have found intensive use in MIPs by remedying the latter's shortcomings. In this review, we summarize the integration of ILs and MIPs for biorecognition and biosensing. The versatile roles of ILs in improving the performance of MIPs are firstly summarized, including serving as solvents, porogens, functional monomers, organic surface modifiers, dummy templates, and cross-linkers. Then, specific applications of IL-based MIPs in peptide recognition, protein sensing, and food safety analysis are discussed. Finally, future trends and challenges for the design and development of IL-based MIPs and their applications in the biorecognition and biosensing are proposed.
