Abstract
In the present work, we developed an aptasensor to determine chloramphenicol (CAP) based on the dual signal output of photoelectrochemistry (PEC) and colorimetry. The Fe3+-doped porous tungsten trioxide was prepared by sol-gel method and coated on the ITO conductive glass to form ITO/p-W(Fe)O3. After assembling the captured DNA (cDNA) and the aptamer of CAP (apt) successively, the constructed ITO/p-W(Fe)O3-cDNA/apt aptasensor exhibited excellent photocurrent response under visible light irradiation in the presence of glucose, which provided the feasibility for PEC measurement with high sensitivity. In the presence of CAP, the apt left the ITO/p-W(Fe)O3 surface and AuNPs linked on the probe DNA would be assembled on it, which led to the decrease of photocurrent. Thanks to the oxidase-mimic catalytic performance of AuNPs and the recycling catalytic hydrolysis by exonuclease I, the measurement signal of the aptasensor could be amplified significantly, and the photocurrent decrease of the aptasensor was linearly related to the concentration of CAP in the range of 1.0 pM-10.0 nM and low detection limit was 0.36 pM. Meanwhile, the H2O2 produced from catalytic oxidation of glucose could oxidize TMB to blue oxTMB under HRP catalysis, which absorbance at 652 nm was linearly related to the concentration of CAP in the range of 5.0 pM-10.0 nM and low detection limit was 1.72 pM. Therefore, an aptasensor that determine CAP in real samples was successfully constructed with good precision of the relative standard deviation less than 5.7 % for PEC method and 7.3 % for colorimetric method, which can meet the analysis needs in different scenarios.

Abstract
Human health and ecology are seriously threatened by harmful environmental contaminants. It is essential to develop efficient and simple methods for their detection. Environmental pollutants can be detected using photoelectrochemical (PEC) detection technologies. The key ingredient in the PEC sensing system is the photoactive material. Due to the unique characteristics, such as a large surface area, enhanced exposure of active sites, and effective mass capture and diffusion, porous materials have been regarded as ideal sensing materials for the construction of PEC sensors. Extensive efforts have been devoted to the development and modification of PEC sensors based on porous materials. However, a review of the relationship between detection performance and the structure of porous materials is still lacking. In this work, we present an overview of PEC sensors based on porous materials. A number of typical porous materials are introduced separately, and their applications in PEC detection of different types of environmental pollutants are also discussed. More importantly, special attention has been paid to how the porous material's structure affects aspects like sensitivity, selectivity, and detection limits of the associated PEC sensor. In addition, future research perspectives in the area of PEC sensors based on porous materials are presented.

Abstract
In this work, a CdS-nanoparticle-decorated WS2 nanosheet heterojunction was successfully prepared and first used to modify ITO electrodes for the construction of a novel photoelectrochemical sensor (CdS/WS2/ITO). The thin-film electrode was fabricated by combining electrophoretic deposition with successive ion layer adsorption and reaction techniques. The results indicated that the synthesized heterojunction nanomaterials displayed excellent photoelectrochemical performance which was much better than that of pristine CdS nanoparticles and 2D WS2 nanosheets. Owing to the formation of the surface heterojunction and the effective interfacial electric field, the enhanced separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs led to a remarkable improvement in the photoelectrochemical activity of CdS/WS2/ITO. This heterojunction architecture can protect CdS against photocorrosion, resulting in a stable photocurrent. Based on the specific recognition between cysteine and CdS/WS2/ITO, through the specificity of Cd-S bonds, a visible-light-driven photoelectrochemical sensor was fabricated for cysteine detection. The novel photoelectrochemical biosensor exhibited outstanding analytical capabilities in detecting cysteine, with an extremely low detection limit of 5.29 nM and excellent selectivity. Hence, CdS-WS2 heterostructure nanocomposites are promising candidates as novel advanced photosensitive materials in the field of photoelectrochemical biosensing.

Abstract
In this work, Au nanoparticle-decorated ZnO@graphene core-shell quantum dots (Au-ZnO@graphene QDs) were successfully prepared and firstly used to modify an ITO electrode for the construction of a novel photoelectrochemical biosensor (Au-ZnO@graphene QDs/ITO). Characterization of the prepared nanomaterials was conducted using transmission electron microscopy, steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy and the X-ray diffraction method. The results indicated that the synthesized ternary nanomaterials displayed excellent photoelectrochemical performance, which was much better than that of ZnO@graphene QDs and pristine ZnO quantum dots. The graphene and ZnO quantum dots formed an effective interfacial electric field, enhancing photogenerated electron-hole pairs separation and leading to a remarkable improvement in the photoelectrochemical performance of ZnO@graphene QDs. The strong surface plasmon resonance effect achieved by directly attaching Au nanoparticles to ZnO@graphene QDs led to a notable increase in the photocurrent response through electrochemical field effect amplification. Based on the specifical recognition between cysteine and Au-ZnO@graphene QDs/ITO through the specificity of Au-S bonds, a light-driven photoelectrochemical sensor was fabricated for cysteine detection. The novel photoelectrochemical biosensor exhibited outstanding analytical capabilities in detecting cysteine with an extremely low detection limit of 8.9 nM and excellent selectivity. Hence, the Au-ZnO@graphene QDs is a promising candidate as a novel advanced photosensitive material in the field of photoelectrochemical biosensing.

Abstract
Chloramphenicol (CAP) is a widely used antibiotic for the treatment of sick animals owing to its potent action and low cost. However, the accumulation of CAP in the human body can cause irreversible aplastic anemia and hematopoietic toxicity. Accordingly, development of various analytical techniques for the rapid detection of CAP in animal products and the related processed foods is necessary. Among these analytical techniques, electrochemical and optical sensors offer many advantages for CAP detection, including high sensitivity, simple operation and fast analysis speed. In this review, we summarize recent application of carbon nanomaterials, metal nanoparticles, metal oxide nanoparticles and metal organic framework in the development of electrochemical and optical sensors for CAP detection (2010-2022). Based on the advantages and disadvantages of nanomaterials, electrochemical and optical sensors are summarized in this review. The preparation and synthesis of electrochemical and optical sensors and nanomaterials in the field of rapid detection are prospected.

Abstract
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) are commonly considered as the major cause of tumor metastasis and can eventually lead to death. Therefore, developing a high-performance method for the determination of CTCs is very significant for promoting the cancer survival rate. Photoelectrochemical biosensing systems have been extensively investigated and applied for bioassays. Herein, Bi2O2S nanoflowers were successfully prepared through a simple one-step hydrothermal method. After being integrated with gold nanoparticles with a diameter of ∼45 nm, AuNPs/Bi2O2S nanocomposites were coated onto an ITO electrode surface to build a photoelectrochemical sensing platform which can be excited with near-infrared light to produce photocurrent response. Subsequently, mercapto-group functionalized aptamer (SH-Apt) was fixed onto the AuNPs/Bi2O2S/ITO surface. Due to the overexpress of MUC1 protein in the cell membrane, MCF-7 cells were specifically trapped on the SH-Apt/AuNPs/Bi2O2S/ITO surface. The introduce of MCF-7 cells lead to an obvious decrease on the photocurrent response. The photocurrent variation shows a satisfied linear relationship to the logarithm of MCF-7 cells concentration ranged from 50 to 6 × 105 cell mL-1. The detection limit obtained is 17 cell mL-1. The PEC biosensor shows excellent sensitivity, selectivity and stability for sensing MCF-7 cells, even for determining MCF-7 cells in clinical serum samples.

Abstract
In this study, a sensitive photoelectrochemical immunosensor with dye-enhanced anodic photocurrent response was proposed for sensitive detection of α-fetoprotein (AFP). Specifically, europium-doped TiO2 (Eu-TiO2) was used as the photoelectrochemical functional material and coated onto indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode. Doxorubicin (DOX) as an excellent fluorescent dye was encapsulated in the hydrophobically modified alginate (HMA). Then the dye-loaded HMA was modified onto the surface of Eu-TiO2 to further sensitize the photocurrent response. The results showed that the photoelectrical signal was enhanced and stabilized due to the effect of sensitization of DOX on Eu-TiO2 material. The constructed PEC sensor revealed a good linear response to AFP antigen ranging from 0.5 to 100 ng/mL with a detection limit of 0.41 pg/mL. The clinical patient's serum test results obtained from the proposed PEC immunosensor were consistent with those obtained from the commercial electrochemilunescence assay. The proposed PEC sensing method could be a promising analytical tool for the detection of AFP in clinical analysis.

Abstract
Nanomaterials-based photoelectrochemical (PEC) detection is becoming a rapidly-developing analytical technique in chemical and biological assays due to its unique advantages of easy miniaturization, high sensitivity, and rapid turnaround time. Herein, a molecularly imprinted polymer-assisted PEC sensor based on ZnO/C nanocomposite was successfully fabricated for the highly sensitive and selective determination of chloramphenicol (CAP). Benefiting from the hydrophilic functional groups (-OH, -COOH) and large surface area of bio-templated ZnO/C nanocomposite, the tight grafting of MIP with excellent recognition ability on substrate is easier and more stable than traditional PEC sensor, thus significantly increasing the performance. Under optimal conditions, the PEC sensor exhibited significant CAP detection performance in the range of 0.01-5000 ng mL-1 with a detection LOD of 5.08 pg mL-1 (S/N = 3) and successfully applied to the detection of CAP in milk sample. Our results show that ZnO/C nanocomposite and MIP can act as an efficient photo-responsible matrix to fabricate PEC sensor, providing important application potentials for pollutants control in food and environment.

Abstract
Chemical and biological contaminants are of primary concern in ensuring seafood safety. Rapid detection of such contaminants is needed to keep us safe from being affected. For over three decades, immunoassay (IA) technology has been used for the detection of contaminants in seafood products. However, limitations inherent to antibody generation against small molecular targets that cannot elicit an immune response, along with the instability of antibodies under ambient conditions greatly limit their wider application for developing robust detection and monitoring tools, particularly for non-biomedical applications. As an alternative, aptamer-based biosensors (aptasensors) have emerged as a powerful yet robust analytical tool for the detection of a wide range of analytes. Due to the high specificity of aptamers in recognising targets ranging from small molecules to large proteins and even whole cells, these have been suggested to be viable molecular recognition elements (MREs) in the development of new diagnostic and biosensing tools for detecting a wide range of contaminants including heavy metals, antibiotics, pesticides, pathogens and biotoxins. In this review, we discuss the recent progress made in the field of aptasensors for detection of contaminants in seafood products with a view of effectively managing their potential human health hazards. A critical outlook is also provided to facilitate translation of aptasensors from academic laboratories to the mainstream seafood industry and consumer applications.

The heterojunction structure is formed to improve the light capture ability and carrier migration, significantly enhancing the sensitivity of photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensors. Specific DNA sequences labeled with TGA-CdS QDs were placed on the electrodes to prepare a biosensor for the detection of chloramphenicol with ultrahigh selectivity. In addition, the heterojunction structure and the principle of photocurrent signal amplification on the electrode are described in detail. Under the optimal conditions, the photoelectrochemical biosensors showed good reproducibility and stability for chloramphenicol with a linear response in the range 10-10,000 pM and a limit of detection (LOD) of 0.23 pM. Due to the specific recognition of base pairs, the sensor has excellent anti-interference ability in practical applications. An effective method was developed for the accurate detection of antibiotics with far reaching prospects.

Abstract
Antibiotics are often used in human and veterinary medicine for the treatment of bacterial diseases. However, extensive use of antibiotics in agriculture can result in the contamination of common food staples such as milk. Consumption of contaminated products can cause serious illness and a rise in antibiotic resistance. Conventional methods of antibiotics detection such are microbiological assays chromatographic and mass spectroscopy methods are sensitive; however, they require qualified personnel, expensive instruments, and sample pretreatment. Biosensor technology can overcome these drawbacks. This review is focused on the recent achievements in the electrochemical biosensors based on nucleic acid aptamers for antibiotic detection. A brief explanation of conventional methods of antibiotic detection is also provided. The methods of the aptamer selection are explained, together with the approach used for the improvement of aptamer affinity by post-SELEX modification and computer modeling. The substantial focus of this review is on the explanation of the principles of the electrochemical detection of antibiotics by aptasensors and on recent achievements in the development of electrochemical aptasensors. The current trends and problems in practical applications of aptasensors are also discussed.

Abstract
Photoelectrochemistry (PEC) is a dynamic discipline studying the effect of light on photoelectrode or photosensitive material, and the conversion from solar energy into electrical power. The basic PEC process refers to the oxidation or reduction reactions between electrochemical active species in solution and photoactive materials that occurred at the electrode/electrolyte interface during illumination. In recent years, the PEC biosensing approaches have also been developed by the combination of the PEC technique with bioanalysis, where the interaction between biological recognition element and analyte influences a photocurrent signal. This involves the charge and energy transfer of PEC reaction between electron donor/acceptor and photoactive material upon light irradiation. Coupling the advantages of PEC bioanalysis and aptamers has provided new concepts for highly selective and sensitive biosensors development, applicable in human health monitoring and environmental protection. In a typical assay, a photoactive material converts the affinity binding properties of aptamers into a detectable electrical signal, presenting an innovative method for probing numerous aptamer-analyte interactions. Using different aptamer probes aiming for specific purposes, more sensing strategies with rational design and exquisite signaling mechanisms have been proposed. This review concentrated on the current topic of PEC aptasensors that are used for the detection of viruses. The prospects in this area are also discussed. Graphical abstract

Abstract
A simple and label-free electrochemical aptasensor was developed for ultra-sensitive determination of chloramphenicol (CAP) based on a 2D transition of metal carbides (MXene) loaded with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The embedded AuNPs not only inhibit the aggregation of MXene sheets, but also improve the quantity of active sites and electronic conductivity. The aptamers (Apts) were able to immobilize on the MXene–AuNP modified electrode surface through Au–S interaction. Upon specifically binding with CAP with high affinity, the CAP–Apt complexes produced low conductivity on the aptasensor surface, leading to a decreased electrochemical signal. The resulting current change was quantitatively correlated with CAP concentration. Under optimized experimental conditions, the constructed aptasensor exhibited a good linear relationship within a wide range of 0.0001–10 nM and with a low detection limit of 0.03 pM for CAP. Moreover, the developed aptasensor has been applied to the determination of CAP concentration in honey samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract
Residual antibiotics in food products originated from administration of the antibiotics to animals may be accumulated through food metabolism in the human body and endanger safety and health. Thus, developing a prompt and accurate way for detection of antibiotics is a crucial issue. The zero-dimensional fluorescent probes including metals based, carbon and graphene quantum dots (QDs), are highly sensitive materials to use for the detection of a wide range of antibiotics in natural products. These QDs demonstrate unique optical properties like tunable photoluminescence (PL) and excitation-wavelength dependent emission. This study investigates the trends related to carbon and metal based QDs preparation and modification, and their diverse detection application. We discuss the performance of QDs based sensors application in various detection systems such as photoluminescence, photoelectrochemical, chemiluminescence, electrochemiluminescence, colorimetric, as well as describing their working principles in several samples. The detecting mechanism of a QDs-based sensor is dependent on its properties and specific interactions with particular antibiotics. This review also tries to describe environmental application and future perspective of QDs for antibiotics detection.

Abstract
Developing a photoactive material by combining the characteristics of a wide light response range and effective separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs remains a huge challenge for the construction of a photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensing platform. Herein, a gold nanoparticle (AuNP)/MoS2/TiO2 composite was prepared through the facile hydrothermal method coupled with an in situ photoreduction technology. Benefiting from both the compositional and structure merits, the composite not only extends the absorption range to visible light but also enhances the photoelectric conversion efficiency by transferring photogenerated electrons into the conduction band of semiconductors from the plasmonic AuNP. Meanwhile, the thiolated aptamers were attached to the surface of AuNP/MoS2/TiO2 composites through the Au-S bonding to construct a visible light driven PEC aptasensor for ultrasensitive detection chloramphenicol (CAP). In the presence of CAP, the aptamers anchored on the surface of the photoactive materials could specifically recognize CAP and interact with it to form a bioaffinity complex with a steric hindrance effect, resulting in the rapid decrease of photocurrent responses. Based on this photocurrent suppression strategy, the constructed PEC aptasensing platform exhibited a high sensitivity with a wide linear range from 5 pM to 100 nM and a low detection limit of 0.5 pM.

Abstract
In view of ever-increasing environmental pollution, there is an immediate requirement to promote cheap, multiplexed, sensitive and fast biosensing systems to monitor these pollutants or contaminants. Aptamers have shown numerous advantages in being used as molecular recognition elements in various biosensing devices. Graphene and graphene-based materials/nanohybrids combined with several detection methods exhibit great potential owing to their exceptional optical, electronic and physicochemical properties which can be employed extensively to monitor environmental contaminants. For environmental monitoring applications, aptamers have been successfully combined with graphene-based nanohybrids to produce a wide range of innovative methodologies. Aptamers are immobilized at the surface of graphene based nanohybrids via covalent and non-covalent strategies. This review highlights the design, working principle, recent developmental advances and applications of graphene based nanohybrid aptasensors (GNH-Apts) (since January 2014 to September 2021) with a special emphasis on two major signal-transduction methods, i.e., optical and electrochemical for the monitoring of pesticides, heavy metals, bacteria, antibiotics, and organic compounds from different environmental samples (e.g., water, soil and related). Lastly, the challenges confronted by scientists and the possible future outlook have also been addressed. It is expected that high-performance graphene-based nanohybrid aptasensors would find broad applications in the field of environmental monitoring.

Abstract
It is important to develop highly-active photoelectrochemical (PEC) materials and use novel sensing strategy for constructing high-PEC-performance sensors with multiplex detection abilities, owing to the simultaneous presence of multiple antibiotic residues in food. Herein, a bias-potential-based PEC aptasensor was prepared for the trace detection of dual antibiotic analytes, enrofloxacin (ENR) and ciprofloxacin (CIP), which often coexist in milk samples. Here, two materials were developed with excellent PEC performance: three-dimensional nitrogen-doped graphene-loaded copper indium disulfide (CuInS2/3DNG) and Bi3+-doped black anatase titania nanoparticles decorated with reduced graphene oxide (Bi3+/B-TiO2/rGO). By applying different bias potentials to the two materials near one ITO electrode, the cathodic current generated by CuInS2/3DNH and the anodic current generated by Bi3+/B-TiO2/rGO could be clearly distinguished without interfering with each other. Then, ENR and CIP aptamers were respectively modified onto the surface of CuInS2/3DNH and Bi3+/B-TiO2/rGO to construct a PEC aptasensor for the sensitive detection of ENR and CIP. Under optimal conditions, the proposed aptasensor exhibited wide linear ranges of ENR (0.01-10000 ng/mL) and CIP (0.01-1000 ng/mL), and relatively low detection limits of 3.3 pg/mL to ENR and CIP (S/N = 3). The aptasensor was successfully applied to the detection of ENR and CIP in milk samples.

Abstract
Conventional photosensitive materials such as TiO2 suffer from restricted absorption in the ultraviolet region, fast recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs, and a lack of functional groups for biocoupling, which hinder their application in photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensing. Herein, a new coordination polymer (CP) based on Cu(I), chloridion, and 4-mercaptobenzoic acid (MBA) has been designed and synthesized (called CuClx(MBA)y). The prepared p-type CuClx(MBA)y exhibits visible-light absorption due to its narrow optical band gap (2.59 eV), and its proper band edge position enables it to form a p-n junction with TiO2. Through layer-by-layer assembling, the photocurrent intensity of the CuClx(MBA)y/TiO2/FTO composite photoelectrode was 3.7-fold higher than that of a TiO2/FTO electrode and 35-fold higher than a CuClx(MBA)y/FTO electrode. The potential enhancement mechanism was discussed, which lies in the contributions of CuClx(MBA)y in enhancing absorption in the visible-light region and boosting the separation of electron-hole pairs of TiO2 by the p-n junction. Furthermore, CuClx(MBA)y nanosheets can realize bioconjugation directly, thanks to its abundant carboxyl groups. The CuClx(MBA)y/TiO2/FTO composite photoelectrodes were applied to develop a sensitive PEC biosensor for microRNA-21 (model target). By subtly exploiting the energy transfer between CuClx(MBA)y and Au nanoparticles (AuNPs), AuNPs served as effective quenchers. In the presence of the target, AuNP-labeled sDNA1 connected to the electrode surface, and thus, a decreased photocurrent was obtained. The proposed biosensor has a low detection limit of 0.29 fM (S/N = 3), good selectivity, and reproducibility. The proposed system was applied to monitor microRNA in cancer cells with satisfying results.

Abstract
Kanamycin (Kana) is widely used as a veterinary medicine and its abuse causes a serious threat to human health, raising the urgent demand for detection of residual Kana in animal-derived food with high specificity and sensitivity. Here, we developed a photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensor for rapid quantification of Kana, with lead sulfide quantum dots/titanium dioxide nanoparticles (PbS QDs/TiO2 NPs) as a photosensitive composite, a Kana-specific DNA aptamer as a functional sensor, and ruthenium(III) hexaammine (Ru(NH3)63+) as a signal booster. To prepare the PEC aptasensor, TiO2 NPs, PbS QDs, and polyethyleneimine (PEI) were respectively used to modify the indium tin oxide electrode, and then the amine-terminated aptamer probe was connected to the PEI via glutaraldehyde. Finally, Ru(NH3)63+ was attached on the surface of the aptamer to increase the photocurrent intensity. When Kana binds competitively with Ru(NH3)63+ to the aptamer immobilized on the surface of the aptasensor, Ru(NH3)63+ will be released from the aptamer, resulting in a decrease of the photocurrent signal. This PEC aptasensor exhibits a good linear relationship between the photocurrent shift and the logarithm of Kana concentration within the range of 1.0-300.0 nmol L-1, and the detection limit is 0.161 nmol L-1. Importantly, the PEC aptasensor presented good detection selectivity owing to specific interaction with Kana and was successfully implemented to quantify Kana in honey and milk, suggesting that the PEC aptasensor has the potential of rapid detection of residual Kana in animal-derived foods.

Abstract
The detection of antimicrobial residues in food products of animal origin is of utmost importance. Indeed antimicrobial residues could be present in animal derived food products because of animal treatments for curative purposes or from illegal use. The usual screening methods to detect antimicrobial residues in food are microbiological, immunological or physico-chemical methods. The development of biosensors to propose sensitive, cheap and quick alternatives to classical methods is constantly increasing. Aptasensors are one of the major trends proposed in the literature, in parallel with the development of immunosensors based on antibodies. The characteristics of electrochemical sensors (i.e., low cost, miniaturization, and portable instrumentation) make them very good candidates to develop screening methods for antimicrobial residues in food products. This review will focus on the recent advances in the development of electrochemical aptasensors for the detection of antimicrobial residues in food products. The contribution of nanomaterials to improve the performance characteristics of electrochemical aptasensors (e.g., Sensitivity, easiness, stability) in the last ten years, as well as signal amplification techniques will be highlighted.

Abstract
A highly selective and sensitive photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensing platform was developed for kanamycin assay based on the aptamer modified sandwich-structured ZnCuInSe/Au/TiO2 nanowires. Sandwiched between the TiO2 nanowires and the ZnCuInSe quantum dot (QDs) layer, the Au nanoparticles (Au NPs) serves as a plasmonic photosensitizer and an electron relay, which expand the light absorption range and facilitates the charge transfer. Also, ZnCuInSe QDs, a broad spectrum photosensitizer can capture visible light, which enhance the photocurrent density response. Through the Au-S bond and Cu-S bond, the HS-aptamer were immobilized on the ZnCuInSe/Au/TiO2 nanowires as a recognition unit for kanamycin. The proposed sensing platform showed excellent assay performance for kanamycin with a linear response range from 0.2 to 250 nM, and high selectivity. By changing the recognizers, the proposed sensing platform could be easily extended to detect other biomolecules, and may have a promising application in bioanalysis.

Abstract
An electrochemical aptasensor, including the polyethyleneimine-graphite-like carbon nitride/Au nanowire nanocomposite (PEI-C3N4/AuNWs) and exonuclease-assisted signal amplification strategy was constructed for the determination of chloramphenicol (CAP). Initially, a nanocomposite with substantial electrocatalytic property was synthesized by PEI-C3N4/AuNWs. This improves the conductivity and specific surface area of the PEI-C3N4/AuNW-modified gold electrode. Next, a DNA with a complementary sequence to a CAP aptamer (cDNA) was immobilized on the PEI-C3N4/AuNW-modified electrode, followed by the CAP aptamer hybridized with cDNA. The lower signal at this time is due to the negatively charged phosphate group of the oligonucleotide and [Fe (CN)6]3-/4- electrostatically repelling each other. The presence of the CAP would cause aptamer on the electrode surface to fall off and be digested by Recjf exonuclease, which resulted in target recycling, and a significant increase in DPV signal can be observed at a potential of 0.176 V (vs. Ag/AgCl). Under optimal conditions, there is a linear relationship between the peak current and the logarithm of CAP concentration in the range 100 fM-1 μM, and the detection limit of this aptasensor is 2.96 fM (S/N = 3). Furthermore, the resultant aptasensor has excellent specificity, reproducibility, and long-term stability, and has been applied to the detection of CAP in milk samples. Graphical abstract The detection principle of the electrochemical aptasensor for CAP detection was based on PEI-C3N4/AuNWs and exonuclease-assistant signal amplification. It is based on the fact that PEI-C3N4/AuNWs nanocomposites on the surface of the electrode can effectively improve the performance of the aptasensor, and Recjf exonuclease initiates the target recycling process, causes signal amplification.

Abstract
A visible light self-powered photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor based on silver chromate particles, graphitic carbon nitride nanosheets and graphene oxide sheets (Ag2CrO4/g-C3N4/GO) for the ultrasensitive detection of chloramphenicol (CAP) was reported in this work. g-C3N4 was considered to be the fundamental photoelectric material because of its great oxidation ability of photogenerated hole as well as excellent biocompatibility and low toxicity. However, the narrow light absorption range and rapid carrier recombination rate limit the application of pure g-C3N4. Herein, Ag2CrO4 and GO as photosensitizer were introduced to improve the photoelectric properties of g-C3N4. The photocurrent of the developed ternary composite was about 3 times higher than that of pristine g-C3N4, which proves it can be used as a suitable photoelectric active material. Moreover, the mechanism of Z-scheme electron transfer path was proved by density functional theory (DFT) calculation. The fabricated PEC aptasensor exhibited high sensitivity toward CAP with a wide liner response of 0.5 pM to 50 nM and a detection limit of 0.29 pM. The specific recognition mechanism and excellent sensing performance indicated this aptasensor could serve as a useful tool for selective and ultrasensitive CAP detection in practical analysis.

Abstract
A photoelectrochemical (PEC) aptasensor based on silver nanoparticle/BiOCl (AgNP/BiOCl) composites was constructed for detecting chloramphenicol (CAP). The surface-plasmon resonance (SPR) effect of AgNPs can focus the incident light and promote the migration and separation of the photogenerated carriers of AgNP/BiOCl composites. As a result, the AgNP/BiOCl composites showed an enhanced PEC performance compared to that of pure BiOCl. A PEC CAP aptasensor was fabricated using AgNP/BiOCl composites as photoactive materials and a CAP aptamer as a recognition element. The PEC aptasensor exhibited a broad linear response range (0.2 pM-10 nM), a low limit of determination (0.08 pM), satisfactory selectivity, stability, and reproducibility to meet the practical analysis requirements. This work demonstrates that the PEC CAP aptasensor has a promising prospect in environmental assays.

Abstract
The trace amount of antibiotics in water can be enriched in the human body through the food chain, leading to extremely harmful effects on people's health. Therefore, it is urgent to develop new methods to detect trace pollutants in various aquatic phase. An analytical method utilizing the synergistic effect between the sensing strategy and catalytic material with high electron transfer capacity can be used to detect trace antibiotics. In this paper, an ultrasensitive impedimetric aptasensor was fabricated by the synergy between functionalized materials (TiO2-g-C3N4) and gold nanoparticles (Au NPs). Due to the formation of the 'Au-S' bond between the thiol-aptamer and Au NPs, amoxicillin and the aptamer can be specifically recognized on the modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE), and the impedance signal increased rapidly. Meanwhile, the Box-Behnken Design (BBD) strategy was used to reduce the random error of the experiment, so that the prepared aptasensor has the highest sensitivity to the detection of amoxicillin. Under optimized conditions, the sensor successfully achieved the detection of amoxicillin in the ultra-low detection range (0.5-3 nM) and reached the ultra-low detection limit (0.2 nM). The detection strategy has good selectivity, reproducibility, and stability, and thus has good potential to detect amoxicillin in actual wastewater.

Abstract
A two-dimensional zinc(II)-based metal-organic framework [Zn • (BA) • (BBI)] was synthesized from 1,2-benzenediacetic acid and 1,1'-(1,4-butanediyl) bis(imidazole) via a solvothermal reaction. The crystal exhibits good chemical stability in the pH range from 2 to 12, and strong fluorescence with excitation/emission maxima of 270/290 nm. The crystal is shown to by a viable fluorescent probe for the detection of ascorbic acid (AA) and the antibiotics chloramphenicol (CHL) and ceftriaxone (CRO). Fluorescence intensity of crystal dispersion is significantly quenched with increasing concentrations of AA/CHL/CRO. Quenching occurs even in the presence of other substances. The assay is fast (5 s) and has a low detection limit (1.6 ppb for AA, 12 ppb for CHL and 3.9 ppb for CRO). The crystal still has a good quenching effect on AA/CHL/CRO after washing and using for five times. The response of the probe is related to the interplay between the MOF and analytes via energy absorption competition. Graphical abstractSchematic diagram of preparing Zn • (BA) • (BBI) and responding to target analytes. Abstract
A fluorometric assay is described for ochratoxin A (OTA) using an aptamer. The method is based on exonuclease-assisted recycling amplification. The OTA-binding aptamer partially hybridizes with complementary DNA (cDNA) that is released when the aptamer recognizes OTA. Then, cDNA hybridizes with a specifically designed hairpin DNA. Next, short ssDNA and cDNA are, respectively, released by exonuclease III catalyzed hydrolysis of the dsDNA. The cDNA induces the next ring opening and digestion. The short ssDNA captures the sDNA that is labeled with fluorescent FAM and is absorbed on graphene oxide (GO). The green fluorescence of the sDNA/GO system is quenched but is recovered if the sDNA is released from GO. This assay is high sensitive, works in the 5 nM to 200 nM OTA concentration range and has a 0.96 nM lower detection limit. It was applied to the quantitation of OTA in spiked wine and coffee samples. Graphical abstractSchematic of a fluorometric assay based on exonuclease-assisted recycling amplification for quantitative monitoring of OTA without the need of sample separation and multiple washing steps.
