Abstract
The conventional methods for the photoinduced synthesis of benzimidazoles may need further improvement regarding a safer and energy-efficient synthesis platform with in-process monitoring for maximum yield within a much reduced reaction time. This work describes the use of a novel optofluidic Lab-on-a-Chip technology for safer, energy-efficient, and expedited synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives in excellent yields along with real-time quantitative measurement during product formation. This innovative method involves synthesis within LED-embedded microfluidic reactors, allowing for rapid synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives via photoinduced condensation cyclization reactions of aryl aldehydes and o-phenylenediamines using a Rose Bengal/fluorescein photocatalyst. It results in good to excellent yields (85-94%) in a notably shorter period of time (10 min) as compared to that for the batch protocol reaction (2-3 h). The incorporation of a reaction-monitoring microfluidic device precisely connected to the microfluidic reactor (microreactor) unit successfully avoids interference from light sources, ensuring consistent UV-vis spectroscopic observations of the produced benzimidazole derivatives. This LED-embedded microfluidic device's capability of photoinduced synthesis, along with real-time spectroscopic analysis, represents a promising breakthrough in organic synthesis. The proposed approach minimizes the potential for accidents, prevents waste of chemicals, maximizes atom economy, and designs an energy-efficient synthesis route, along with real-time in-process monitoring.

Abstract
Numerous heterocyclic moieties serve as the foundational structure for clinically employed drugs, underscoring the significance of heterocycles in the innovation of pharmacologically active compounds. In the present investigation, a heterocyclic skeleton of thiophene-clubbed benzimidazole (tmb) was developed and utilized to synthesize seven novel series of metal (M(II) = Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) complexes to explore diverse applications including pharmacological and photocatalytic performance. A sharp singlet peak appeared at 5.72 ppm (tmb) and 5.94 ppm for the Zn(II)-tmb complex corresponding to -CH2 protons, as evidenced by 1H NMR results, confirming the formation of targeted compounds. Antimicrobial assay and docking studies confirmed that the mixed metal complex; [Cu(tmb)2(1,10-phen)Cl2] possesses the highest activity and displayed significant biofilm inhibition, achieving 86.35 and 89.8% at concentrations of 1 and 0.020 mg/mL, respectively against E. coli. Furthermore, the photocatalytic activity was monitored by the degradation of methylene blue dye under direct sunlight and [Cu(tmb)2Cl2] exhibited a maximum degradation efficiency of 96.15% in 45 min. These findings could serve as inspiration for the development of benzimidazole-based metal complexes as effective anti-biofilm and photocatalytic agents.

Abstract
An efficient procedure to access a variety of connected imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine and benzimidazole skeletons through the C-N bond was described as a new type of Buchwald-Hartwig reaction. Furthermore, the bis(imidazo[1,2-a]pyridin-3-yl)aryl-1,2-diamine scaffolds were obtained by changing the equivalent ratio of the starting materials. Some advantages of the protocol are the formation of four new bonds (C═C, C-N), a transition-metal-free reaction, a broad substrate scope, high yields, and mild reaction conditions. The reaction mechanism was confirmed on the basis of DFT calculations.

Abstract
Benzimidazoles are classified as a category of heterocyclic compounds. Molecules having benzimidazole motifs show promising utility in organic and scientific studies. A series of mono-substituted benzimidazoles were synthesized by ZnO-NPs via cyclocondensation between substituted aromatic aldehydes and o-phenylene diamine. The synthesized compounds were characterized and compared with the traditional methods. The nano-catalyzed method displayed a higher yield, shorter time and recyclable catalyst. The DFT study and antioxidant activity were investigated for benzo[d]imidazole derivatives. Compound 2a exhibited the highest antioxidant activity among the tested compounds. We focused on the catalytic activity of ZnO in the synthesis of heterocyclic structures with the goal of stimulating further progress in this field. The superiorities of this procedure are high yield of product, low amounts of catalyst and short reaction time.

Abstract
An electrochemical dehydrogenative amination for the synthesis of benzimidazoles was developed. This electrosynthesis method could address the limitations of the C(sp3)-H intramolecular amination synthesis reaction and provide novel access to obtain 1,2-disubstituted benzimidazoles without transition metals and oxidants. Under undivided electrolytic conditions, various benzimidazole derivatives could be synthesized, exhibiting functional group tolerance.

Abstract
A simple and practical domino protocol for the selective synthesis of 2-aroylbenzothiazoles and 2-aryl benzothiazoles catalyzed by I2 is developed under metal-free conditions. The reaction outcomes are exclusively controlled by the reaction oxidant/medium. With DMSO employed as both the solvent and the oxidant, an oxidation of aromatic methyl ketones takes precedence over the condensation with 2-aminobenzenethiols. On the other hand, when the reaction was carried out in PhNO2 or in 1,4-dioxane containing PhNO2, the condensation of aromatic methyl ketones with 2-aminobenzenethiols has priority to form imines which is followed by an oxidation of the methyl group from ketones to afford 2-arylbenzothiazoles as a sole product. The PhNO2/I2 co-catalytic system is proposed first time.

Abstract
Imines, versatile intermediates for organic synthesis, can be exploited for the
preparation of diverse classes of biologically active benzazoles. Because of the special
characteristics of the C=N bond, imines can be simultaneously used in the synthesis of
1,3-benzazoles and 1,2-benzazoles. With the development of imine synthesis, a variety of
novel cascade reactions for benzazole synthesis have been reported in the last decade.
Therefore, there is a strong need to elucidate the recent progress in the formation of various
classes of benzazoles, including benzimidazoles, benzoxazoles, benzothiazoles, indazoles,
and benzisoxazoles, via imines obtained by condensation reactions or oxidative/
redox coupling reactions In this review, we provide a comprehensive survey of this
area. In particular, various green and mild synthetic methodologies are summarized, and
the multiple roles of novel catalysts and significant mechanisms for several transformations are highlighted in
detail. We believe that this review will aid researchers studying the synthesis of complex molecules containing
the benzazole motif via imines.

Abstract
A simple and practical procedure has been adopted for one pot synthesis of benzimidazole derivatives under mild reaction conditions, starting from cinnamyl alcohol (COH) with bimetallic nanoparticles (BNPs) and supported bimetallic nanoparticles of Cu, Ti, Zn, Mn, Ag, and Co. All the catalysts were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX), X-Ray Diffractometry (XRD), Brunauer Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area, and pore size analyzer. The products were identified/quantified with 1HNMR, FT-IR, and MS. 98% yield of substituted derivatives of benzimidazole was obtained with Cu–Ti supported on FMWCNTs in ethanol with excellent selectivity. Quantum chemical calculations of molecular reactivity of substituted cinnamaldehyde (CHO) and ortho phenylenediamine (OPD) have good consistency with experimental results. The returns of this work were the use of readily available catalysts, high yield, short reaction time, and simplicity of the process.
