Abstract
Flexible pressure sensors have attracted great interest due to their bendable, stretchable, and lightweight characteristics compared to rigid pressure sensors. However, the contradictions among sensitivity, detection limit, thickness, and detection range restrict the performance of flexible pressure sensors and the scope of their applications, especially for scenarios requiring conformal fitting, such as rough surfaces such as the human skin. This paper proposes a novel flexible pressure sensor by combining the nanoengineering strategy and nanocomposite structures. The nanoengineering strategy utilizes the bending deformation of nanofilm instead of the compression of the active layer to achieve super high sensitivity and low detection limit; meanwhile, the nanocomposite structures introduce distributed microbumps that delay the adhesion of nanofilm to enlarge the detection range. As a result, this device not only ensures an ultrathin thickness of 1.6 μm and a high sensitivity of 84.29 kPa-1 but also offers a large detection range of 20 kPa and an ultralow detection limit of 0.07 Pa. Owing to the ultrathin thickness as well as high performance, this device promotes applications in detecting fingertip pressure, flexible mechanical gripping, and so on, and demonstrates significant potential in wearable electronics, human-machine interaction, health monitoring, and tactile perception. This device offers a strategy to resolve the conflicts among thickness, sensitivity, detection limit, and detection range; therefore, it will advance the development of flexible pressure sensors and contribute to the community and other related research fields.

Abstract
With the development of technology, people's demand for pressure sensors with high sensitivity and a wide working range is increasing. An effective way to achieve this goal is simulating human skin. Herein, we propose a facile, low-cost, and reproducible method for preparing a skin-like multi-layer flexible pressure sensor (MFPS) device with high sensitivity (5.51 kPa-1 from 0 to 30 kPa) and wide working pressure range (0-200 kPa) by assembling carbonized fabrics and micro-wrinkle-structured Ag@rGO electrodes layer by layer. In addition, the highly imitated skin structure also provides the device with an extremely short response time (60/90 ms) and stable durability (over 3000 cycles). Importantly, we integrated multiple sensor devices into gloves to monitor finger movements and behaviors. In summary, the skin-like MFPS device has significant potential for real-time monitoring of human activities in the field of flexible wearable electronics and human-machine interaction.

Abstract
Despite being among the most common medical procedures, needle insertions suffer from a high error rate. Impedance measurements using electrode-equipped needles offer promise for improved tissue targeting and reduced errors. Impedance visualization usually requires an extensive pre-measured impedance dataset for tissue differentiation and knowledge of the electric fields contributing to the resulting impedances. This work presents two finite element simulation approaches for both problems. The first approach describes the generation of a multitude of impedances with Monte Carlo simulations for both, homogeneous and inhomogeneous tissue to circumvent the need to rely on previously measured data. These datasets could be used for tissue discrimination. The second method describes the simulation of the spatial sensitivity distribution of an electrode layout. Two singularity analysis methods were employed to determine the bulk of the sensitivity within a finite volume, which in turn enables consistent 3D visualization. The modeled electrode layout consists of 12 electrodes radially placed around a hypodermic needle. Electrical excitation was simulated using two neighboring electrodes for current carriage and voltage pickup, which resulted in 12 distinct bipolar excitation states. Both, the impedance simulations and the respective singularity analysis methods were compared with each other. The results show that the statistical spread of impedances is highly dependent on the tissue type and its inhomogeneities. The bounded bulk of sensitivities of both methods are of similar extent and symmetry. Future models should incorporate more detailed tissue properties such as anisotropy or changing material properties due to tissue deformation to gain more accurate predictions.

Abstract
Flexible pressure sensors have drawn considerable attention for their potential applications as electronic skins with both sensitivity and pressure response range. Although the introduction of surface microstructures effectively enhances sensitivity, the confined volume of their compressible structures results in a limited pressure response range. To address this issue, a biomimetic kapok structure is proposed and implemented for constructing the dielectric layer of flexible capacitive pressure sensors employing 3D printing technology. The structure is designed with easily deformable concave and rotational structures, enabling continuous deformation under pressure. This design results in a significant expansion of the pressure response range and improvement in sensitivity. Further, the study purposively analyses crucial parameters of the devised structure that affect its compressibility and stability. These include the concave angle θ, height ratio d1/d2, rotation angle α, and width k. As a result, the ultimate pressure sensors demonstrate remarkable features such as high sensitivity (≈2.38 kPa-1 in the range of 0-10 kPa), broad detection range (734 kPa), fast response time (23 ms), and outstanding pressure resolution (0.4% at 500 kPa). This study confirms the viability of bionic structures for flexible sensors, and their potential to expand the scope of wearable electronic devices.

Abstract
A medical tool is a general instrument intended for use in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases in humans or other animals. Nowadays, sensors are widely employed in medical tools to analyze or quantify disease-related parameters for the diagnosis and monitoring of patients' diseases. Recent explosive advancements in sensor technologies have extended the integration and application of sensors in medical tools by providing more versatile in vivo sensing capabilities. These unique sensing capabilities, especially for medical tools for surgery or medical treatment, are getting more attention owing to the rapid growth of minimally invasive surgery. In this review, recent advancements in sensor-integrated medical tools are presented, and their necessity, use, and examples are comprehensively introduced. Specifically, medical tools often utilized for medical surgery or treatment, for example, medical needles, catheters, robotic surgery, sutures, endoscopes, and tubes, are covered, and in-depth discussions about the working mechanism used for each sensor-integrated medical tool are provided.

Abstract
Implantable biosensors have evolved to the cutting-edge technology of personalized health care and provide promise for future directions in precision medicine. This is the reason why these devices stand to revolutionize our approach to health and disease management and offer insights into our bodily functions in ways that have never been possible before. This review article tries to delve into the important developments, new materials, and multifarious applications of these biosensors, along with a frank discussion on the challenges that the devices will face in their clinical deployment. In addition, techniques that have been employed for the improvement of the sensitivity and specificity of the biosensors alike are focused on in this article, like new biomarkers and advanced computational and data communicational models. A significant challenge of miniaturized in situ implants is that they need to be removed after serving their purpose. Surgical expulsion provokes discomfort to patients, potentially leading to post-operative complications. Therefore, the biodegradability of implants is an alternative method for removal through natural biological processes. This includes biocompatible materials to develop sensors that remain in the body over longer periods with a much-reduced immune response and better device longevity. However, the biodegradability of implantable sensors is still in its infancy compared to conventional non-biodegradable ones. Sensor design, morphology, fabrication, power, electronics, and data transmission all play a pivotal role in developing medically approved implantable biodegradable biosensors. Advanced material science and nanotechnology extended the capacity of different research groups to implement novel courses of action to design implantable and biodegradable sensor components. But the actualization of such potential for the transformative nature of the health sector, in the first place, will have to surmount the challenges related to biofouling, managing power, guaranteeing data security, and meeting today's rules and regulations. Solving these problems will, therefore, not only enhance the performance and reliability of implantable biodegradable biosensors but also facilitate the translation of laboratory development into clinics, serving patients worldwide in their better disease management and personalized therapeutic interventions.

Abstract
Soft electronics are garnering significant attention due to their wide-ranging applications in artificial skin, health monitoring, human-machine interaction, artificial intelligence, and the Internet of Things. Various soft physical sensors such as mechanical sensors, temperature sensors, and humidity sensors are the fundamental building blocks for soft electronics. While the fast growth and widespread utilization of electronic devices have elevated life quality, the consequential electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radiation pose potential threats to device precision and human health. Another substantial concern pertains to overheating issues that occur during prolonged operation. Therefore, the design of multifunctional soft electronics exhibiting excellent capabilities in sensing, EMI shielding, and thermal management is of paramount importance. Because of the prominent advantages in chemical stability, electrical and thermal conductivity, and easy functionalization, new carbon materials including carbon nanotubes, graphene and its derivatives, graphdiyne, and sustainable natural-biomass-derived carbon are particularly promising candidates for multifunctional soft electronics. This review summarizes the latest advancements in multifunctional soft electronics based on new carbon materials across a range of performance aspects, mainly focusing on the structure or composite design, and fabrication method on the physical signals monitoring, EMI shielding, and thermal management. Furthermore, the device integration strategies and corresponding intriguing applications are highlighted. Finally, this review presents prospects aimed at overcoming current barriers and advancing the development of state-of-the-art multifunctional soft electronics.

Abstract
Porous structures are an effective way to improve the performance of flexible capacitive sensors, but the pore size uniformity of porous structures is not easily controlled by current methods, which may affect the inconsistent performance of different batches of sensors. In this paper, a high performance capacitive flexible porous GO/PDMS pressure sensor was prepared based on droplet microfluidic technology. By testing the performance of the sensor, we found that the sensor with a flow rate ratio of 1 : 3 has relatively good performance, with a degree of hysteresis (DH) of 8.64% and a coefficient of variation (CV) of 5.2%. Therefore, we studied the sensor performance based on this process. The result shows that the sensitivity of the flexible capacitive porous GO/PDMS pressure sensor reached 0.627 kPa-1 at low pressure (0-3 kPa), which is significantly higher than that of the pure PDMS thin film sensor (about 0.031 kPa-1) and the porous PDMS pressure sensor (0.263 kPa-1). At the same time, the sensor has a large range with a fast response time of 240 ms and a relaxation time of 300 ms at 30 kPa and an ultra-low detection limit (70 Pa). It can maintain stable operation under continuous force loading/unloading cycles and can respond well to different pressure step changes, so the sensor can be used to detect the movement process of each finger, knee, foot and other joints of the human body. In conclusion, the droplet microfluidic technology can effectively prepare high-performance capacitive flexible porous GO/PDMS pressure sensors.

Abstract
Flexible pressure sensors have garnered significant attention in the field of wearable healthcare due to their scalability and shape variability. However, a crucial challenge in their practical application for various healthcare scenarios is striking a balance between the sensitivity and sensing range. This limitation arises from the reduced compressibility of the microstructures on the surface of pressure-sensitive materials under high pressure, resulting in progressive saturation of the sensor's response and leading to a restricted and nonlinear pressure sensing range. In this study, we present a novel approach utilizing multi-level pyramidal microstructures in flexible pressure sensors to achieve both high sensitivity (8775 kPa-1) and linear response (R2 = 0.997) over a wide pressure range (up to 1000 kPa). The effectiveness of the proposed design stems from the compensatory behavior of the lower pyramidal microstructures, which counteracts the declining sensitivity associated with the gradual hardening of the higher pyramidal microstructures. Furthermore, the sensor demonstrates a fast response time of 11.6 ms and a fast relaxation time of 3.8 ms and can reliably detect pressures as low as 30.2 Pa. Our findings highlight the applicability of this flexible pressure sensor in diverse human body health detection tasks, ranging from weak pulses to finger flexion and plantar pressure distribution. Notably, the proposed sensor design eliminates the need for replacing flexible pressure sensors with varying ranges, thereby enhancing their practical utility.

Abstract
Glaucoma causes irreversible vision loss due to optic nerve damage and retinal cell degeneration. Since high intraocular pressure (IOP) is a major risk factor for glaucoma development, accurate IOP measurement is crucial, especially intravitreal IOP affecting the optical nerve and cells. However, conventional methods have limits in selectively and directly detecting local retina pressure. Here, we present continuous measurements of local IOP values in the anterior chamber and vitreous chamber of living animals using minimally invasive probes with pressure-sensitive transistors. After inducing glaucoma in animal models, we compared the local IOP distribution between normal and glaucomatous eyes. We also compared IOP values detected in the cornea using tonometry measurements. Our findings revealed that glaucoma induced higher IOP in the vitreous chamber than in the anterior chamber, indicating that measuring IOP in the vitreous chamber is key to the glaucoma model. This progress offers future directions for diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma.

Abstract
Over the past decade, there has been a significant surge in interest in flexible mechanical force sensing devices and systems. Tremendous efforts have been devoted to the development of flexible mechanical force sensors for daily healthcare and medical diagnosis, driven by the increasing demand for wearable/portable devices in long-term healthcare and precision medicine. In this review, we summarize recent advances in diverse categories of flexible mechanical force sensors, covering piezoresistive, capacitive, piezoelectric, triboelectric, magnetoelastic, and other force sensors. This review focuses on their working principles, design strategies and applications in healthcare and diagnosis, with an emphasis on the interplay among the sensor architecture, performance, and application scenario. Finally, we provide perspectives on the remaining challenges and opportunities in this field, with particular discussions on problem-driven force sensor designs, as well as developments of novel sensor architectures and intelligent mechanical force sensing systems.

Abstract
Antifouling is essential to guaranteeing the sensitivity and precision of flexible sensing interfaces. Materials and structures are the two primary strategies. However, optimizing the inherent microstructures to integrate waterproofing and sensing is rarely reported. To improve the liquid repellency of micropyramid structures, this work presents a study of the design and fabrication of T-shaped micropyramid structures. These structures are patterned uniformly and largely on polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) skin by the new process of two-step magnetic induction. The waterproofing is related to the breakthrough pressure and the liquid repellency, both of which are a function of structural characteristics, D, and material properties, θY. At the breakthrough transition, two failure models distinguished by θY appear: the depinning transition and the sagging transition. Meanwhile, when considering D in practice, some models will shift and occur early. The D value regulates the transition of the material's wettability to the liquid repellency. The influence of the material's inherent nonwettability on liquid repellency diminishes as D decreases, and the transition from completely wetting liquids to super-repellents can be achieved. Experiments demonstrate that for D = 0.3 under water the resistance is approximately 142 times larger than the depth of the structure, considerably facilitating the waterproofing of conventional micropyramid arrays. This work provides a novel method for fabricating flexible T-shaped micropyramid array structures and opens a new window on flexible sensing interfaces with excellent waterproofing.

Abstract
The growing interest in flexible electronics for physiological monitoring, particularly using flexible pressure sensors for cardiovascular pulse waveforms monitoring, has potential applications in cuffless blood pressure measurement and early diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. High sensitivity, fast response time, good pressure resolution and a high signal-to-noise ratio are essential for effective pulse waveform detection. This review focuses on flexible capacitive and piezoresistive pressure sensors, which have seen significant enhancements due to their simple operation, superior performance, wide range of materials, and easy fabrication. The comparison of sensing methods for acquiring pulse waveforms from the wrist artery, device integration configurations, high-quality pulse waveforms collection, and performance analysis of capacitive and piezoresistive sensors are discussed. The review also covers the use of machine learning for analyzing pulse waveforms for cardiovascular disease diagnosis and cuff-less blood pressure monitoring. Lastly, it provides perspectives on current challenges and further advancements in the field.

Abstract
Flexible pressure sensors play an increasingly important role in a wide range of applications such as human health monitoring, soft robotics, and human-machine interfaces. To achieve a high sensitivity, a conventional approach is introducing microstructures to engineer the internal geometry of the sensor. However, this microengineering strategy requires the sensor's thickness to be typically at hundreds to thousands of microns level, impairing the sensor's conformability on surfaces with microscale roughness like human skin. In this manuscript, a nanoengineering strategy is pioneered that paves a path to resolve the conflicts between sensitivity and conformability. A dual-sacrificial-layer method is initiated that facilitates ease of fabrication and precise assembly of two functional nanomembranes to manufacture the thinnest resistive pressure sensor with a total thickness of ≈850 nm that achieves perfectly conformable contact to human skin. For the first time, the superior deformability of the nanothin electrode layer on a carbon nanotube conductive layer is utilized by the authors to achieve a superior sensitivity (92.11 kPa-1 ) and an ultralow detection limit (<0.8 Pa). This work offers a new strategy that is able to overcome a key bottleneck for current pressure sensors, therefore is of potential to inspire the research community for a new wave of breakthroughs.

Abstract
A wearable and stretchable strain sensor with a gauge factor above 23 was prepared using a simple and effective technique. Conducting nanocomposite strands were prepared from styrene-b-(ethylene-co-butylene)-b-styrene triblock copolymer (SEBS) and carbon black (CB) through a solvent-processing method that uses a syringe pump. This novel nanocomposite preparation technique is a straightforward and cost-effective process and is reported in the literature for the first time. The work included two stages: the flexible nanocomposite preparation stage and the piezoresistive sensor stage. Depending on its molecular structure, the thermoelastic polymer SEBS is highly resilient to stress and strain. The main aim of this work is to fabricate a highly flexible and piezoresistive nanocomposite fibre/strand. Among the prepared composites, a composite corresponding to a composition just above the percolation threshold was selected to prepare the strain sensor, which exhibited good flexibility and conductivity and a large piezoresistive effect that was linearly dependent on the applied strain. The prepared nanocomposite sensor was stitched onto a sports T-shirt. Commercially available knee and elbow sleeves were also purchased, and the nanocomposite SEBS/CB strands were sewn separately on the two sleeves. The results showed a high sensitivity of the sensing element in the case of breathing activity (normal breathing, a 35% change, and deep breathing at 135%, respectively). In the case of knee and elbow movements, simultaneous measurements were performed and found that the sensor was able to detect movement cycles during walking.

Abstract
Flexible pressure sensors (FPSs) have been widely studied in the fields of wearable medical monitoring and human-machine interaction due to their high flexibility, light weight, sensitivity, and easy integration. To better meet these application requirements, key sensing properties such as sensitivity, linear sensing range, pressure detection limits, response/recovery time, and durability need to be effectively improved. Therefore, researchers have extensively and profoundly researched and innovated on the structure of sensors, and various microstructures have been designed and applied to effectively improve the sensing performance of sensors. Compared with single microstructures, multiple microstructures (MMSs) (including hierarchical, multi-layered and hybrid microstructures) can improve the sensing performance of sensors to a greater extent. This paper reviews the recent research progress in the design and application of FPSs with MMSs and systematically summarizes the types, sensing mechanisms, and preparation methods of MMSs. In addition, we summarize the applications of FPSs with MMSs in the fields of human motion detection, health monitoring, and human-computer interaction. Finally, we provide an outlook on the prospects and challenges for the development of FPSs.

Abstract
Flexible pressure sensors have provided an attractive option for potential applications in wearable fields like human motion monitoring or human-machine interfaces. For the development of flexible pressure sensors, achieving high performance or multifunctions are popular research tendencies in recent years, such as improving their sensitivity, working range, or stability. Sponge materials with porous structures have been demonstrated that they are one of the potential substrates for developing novel and excellent flexible pressure sensors. However, for sponge-based pressure sensors, it is still a great challenge to realize a wide range of pressures from Pa level to hundreds kPa level. And how to achieve mechanical robustness remains unsolved. Here, we develop a flexible pressure sensor based on multicarbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) network-coated porous elastomer sponge with a broad range and robust features for use in wearable applications. Specifically, polyurethane (PU) sponge is used as the substrate matrix while dip-coated PU/MWCNTs composites as a conductive layer, achieving a highly bonding effect between the substrate and the conductive material, hence a great mechanical robust advantage is obtained and the working range also is improved. The pressure sensor show range of up to 350 kPa, while the minimum detection threshold is as low as 150 Pa. And before and after rolling by a bicycle or electric motorcycle, the sensor has the almost same responses, exhibiting great robustness.

Abstract
The interest in biodegradable pressure sensors in the biomedical field is growing because of their temporary existence in wearable and implantable applications without any biocompatibility issues. In contrast to the limited sensing performance and biocompatibility of initially developed biodegradable pressure sensors, device performances and functionalities have drastically improved owing to the recent developments in micro-/nano-technologies including device structures and materials. Thus, there is greater possibility of their use in diagnosis and healthcare applications. This review article summarizes the recent advances in micro-/nano-structured biodegradable pressure sensor devices. In particular, we focus on the considerable improvement in performance and functionality at the device-level that has been achieved by adapting the geometrical design parameters in the micro- and nano-meter range. First, the material choices and sensing mechanisms available for fabricating micro-/nano-structured biodegradable pressure sensor devices are discussed. Then, this is followed by a historical development in the biodegradable pressure sensors. In particular, we highlight not only the fabrication methods and performances of the sensor device, but also their biocompatibility. Finally, we intoduce the recent examples of the micro/nano-structured biodegradable pressure sensor for biomedical applications.

Abstract
The in situ diagnosis of cardiac activities with simultaneous therapeutic electrical stimulation of the heart is key to preventing cardiac arrhythmia. Here, we present an unconventional single-device platform that enables in situ monitoring even in a wet condition and control of beating heart motions without interferences to the recording signal. This platform consists of the active-matrix array of pressure-sensitive transistors for detecting cardiac beatings, biocompatible, low-impedance electrodes for cardiac stimulations, and an alginate-based hydrogel adhesive for attaching this platform conformally to the epicardium. In contrast to conventional electrophysiological sensing using electrodes, the pressure-sensitive transistors measured mechanophysiological characteristics by monitoring the spatiotemporal distributions of cardiac pressures during heart beating motions. In vivo tests show mechanophysiological readings having good correlation with electrocardiography and negligible interference with the electrical artifacts caused during cardiac stimulations. This platform can therapeutically synchronize the rhythm of abnormal heartbeats through efficient pacing of cardiac arrhythmia.

Abstract
Wearable mechanical sensors are easily influenced by moisture resulting in inaccuracy for monitoring human health and body motions. Though the superhydrophobic barrier has been extensively explored as passive water repel strategy on the sensor surface, the dense superhydrophobic surface not only limits the sensor working under large deformations but also inevitable degradation in high humidity or saturation water vapor environments. This work reports a superhydrophobic MXene-sodium alginate sponge (SMSS) pressure sensor with a low voltage Joule heating effect to provide sustain moisture-insensitive property for both sensing performance and superhydrophobicity by heating-driven water molecules away. Because of the positive temperature coefficient under pressure applied, the Joule heating can provides a stable temperature to the moisture-insensitivity property during the whole dynamic pressure cycled. Therefore, the pressure sensor with a simple spray-coating superhydrophobic coating on the outer layer demonstrates key capabilities even in extreme use scenarios with high humidity or water vapor and also provides stable and reliable bio-signal monitoring.

Abstract
A radiofrequency ablation (RFA) needle integrated with a temperature sensor (T-sensor) and pressure sensor (P-sensor) is designed and utilized for real-time internal steam pop monitoring during RFA. The characteristics of the sensor-integrated RFA needle (sRFA-needle) are investigated quantitatively using a pressure chamber system, and the feasibility and usability of the needle in preclinical and clinical trials is demonstrated. The sharp changes in the temperature and normalized pressure sensor signals induced by the abrupt release of hot and high-pressure steam can be clearly monitored during the steam pop phenomena. The basic mechanism of the preliminary steam pop is hypothesized and verified using in situ ultrasound imaging data and computational analysis data of the RFA procedure. Moreover, the usability of the system in clinical trials is investigated, and the steam pop phenomena during the RFA procedure are detected using T-sensor and P-sensor. The results confirm that the sensor integration on the medical needle can provide critical data for safer and more effective medical practices.

Abstract
Many conventional micropatterning and nanopatterning techniques employ toxic chemicals, rendering them nonbiocompatible and unsuited for biodevice production. Herein the formation of water bridges on the surface of hyaluronic acid (HA) films is exploited to develop a transfer-based nanopatterning method applicable to diverse structures and materials. The HA film surface, made deformable via water bridge generation, is brought into contact with a functional material and subjected to thermal treatment, which results in film shrinkage, allowing a robust pattern transfer. The proposed biocompatible method, which avoids the use of extra chemicals, enables the transfer of nanoscale, microscale, and thin-film structures as well as functional materials such as metals and metal oxides. A nanopatterned HA film is transferred onto a moisture-containing contact lens to fabricate smart contact lenses with unique optical characteristics of rationally designed optical nanopatterns. These lenses demonstrated binocular parallax-induced stereoscopy via nanoline array polarization and acted as cutoff filters, with nanodot arrays, capable of treating Irlen syndrome.

Conventional flexible pressure sensors are not suitable for high-pressure applications due to their low saturation pressure. In this study, an ultra-wide range pressure sensor is designed based on the optimized microstructure of the polyimide/carbon nanotubes (PI/CNT) nanocomposite film. The sensing range of the pressure sensor is expanded by adopting polyimide (PI) with a high elastic modulus as a matrix material and its sensitivity is improved through functional sensing film with tip-flattened microdome arrays. As a result, the pressure sensor can measure a wide pressure range (≈ 0-3000 kPa) and possesses the sensitivity of ≈ 5.66 × 10-3 -0.23 × 10-3 kPa-1 with high reliability and durability up to 1000 cycles. The proposed sensor is integrated into the hand and foot pressure monitoring systems for workout monitoring. The representative values of the pressure distribution in the hands and feet during the powerlifting are acquired and analyzed through Pearson's correlation coefficient (PCC). The analyzed results suggest that the pressure sensor can provide useful real-time information for healthcare and sports performance monitoring.

Abstract
Flexible electronics with continuous monitoring ability a extensively preferred in various medical applications. In this work, a flexible pressure sensor based on porous graphene (PG) is proposed for continuous cardiovascular status monitoring. The whole sensor is fabricated in situ by ink printing technology, which grants it the potential for large-scale manufacture. Moreover, to enhance its long-term usage ability, a polyethylene terephthalate/polyethylene vinylacetate (PET/EVA)-laminated film is employed to protect the sensor from unexpected shear forces on the skin surface. The sensor exhibits great sensitivity (53.99/MPa), high resolution (less than 0.3 kPa), wide detecting range (0.3 kPa to 1 MPa), desirable robustness, and excellent repeatability (1000 cycles). With the assistance of the proposed pressure sensor, vital cardiovascular conditions can be accurately monitored, including heart rate, respiration rate, pulse wave velocity, and blood pressure. Compared to other sensors based on self-supporting 2D materials, this sensor can endure more complex environments and has enormous application potential for the medical community.

Abstract
In artificial intelligence and deep learning applications, data collection from a variety of objects is of great interest. One way to support such data collection is to use very thin, mechanically flexible sensor sheets, which can cover an object without altering the original shape. This study proposes a thin, macroscale, flexible, tactile pressure sensor array fabricated by a simple process for economical device applications. Using laser-induced graphene, a transfer process, and a printing method, a relatively stable, reliable, macroscale, thin (∼300 μm), flexible, tactile pressure sensor is realized. The detectable pressure range is about tens to hundreds of kPa. Then, as a proof-of-concept, the uniformity, sensitivity, repeatability, object mapping, finger pressure distribution, and pressure mapping are demonstrated under bending conditions. Although many flexible, tactile pressure sensors have been reported, the proposed structure has the potential for macroscale, thin, flexible, tactile pressure sensor sheets because of the simple and easy fabrication process.
