Abstract
The reaction of Ti(NMe2)4 with the salan ligand precursor H2N2O2H2 led to the formation of [(L*)Ti(NHMe2)2] (L*=N2O2 4-) that forms [(H2N2O2)TiCl2] upon reaction with two equiv. of Me3SiCl. [(L*)Ti(py)2] was obtained from the reaction of [Ti(NtBu)Cl2(py)3] with the sodium salt H2N2O2Na2. Treatment of [(L*)Ti(NHMe2)2] with two equiv. of tBuNCO led to the insertion of the isocyanate molecules into the Ti-Nsalan bonds with the formation of [{L*(N(tBu)CO)2}Ti]. Conversely, the reaction of [(H2N2O2)Ti(OiPr)2] with two equiv. of tBuNCO led to the insertion of one isocyanate molecule into a Ti-Nsalan bond with the formation of [{(HN2O2)(N(tBu)CO)}Ti(OiPr)]. Computational studies were performed to gain insight into the reactivity of isocyanates with salan-based Ti(IV) complexes.

Abstract
The synthesis, crystal structure, and reactivity of a series of half-sandwich titanium(III) dihalide complexes [Ti(η5-C5Me5)X2] (X = Cl, Br, I) and several of its Lewis base derivatives were investigated. The reaction of the trihalides [Ti(η5-C5Me5)X3] (X = Cl (1), Br (2), I (3)) with LiAlH4 (≥1 equiv) in toluene at room temperature results in the formation of the halide-bridged dimers [{Ti(η5-C5Me5)X(μ-X)}2] (X = Cl (4), Br (5), I (6)). The treatment of 4 with [Li{N(SiMe3)2}] (≥2 equiv) at room temperature affords the precipitation of the amido titanium(III) complex [{Ti(η5-C5Me5)(μ-Cl){N(SiMe3)2}}2] (7), but analogous reactions of 4 with other lithium reagents [LiR] (R = Me, CH2SiMe3, NMe2) lead to disproportionation into titanium(IV) [Ti(η5-C5Me5)R3] and presumably titanium(II) derivatives. Similarly, complex 4 in solution at temperatures higher than 100 °C undergoes disproportionation as demonstrated by its reactions with cobaltocene and N-(4-methylbenzylidene)aniline yielding the ionic paramagnetic compound [Co(η5-C5H5)2][Ti(η5-C5Me5)Cl3] (8) and the diamagnetic diazatitanacyclopentane [Ti(η5-C5Me5)Cl{N(Ph)CH(p-tolyl)}2], respectively. Treatment of complex 4 with 2 equiv of 2,6-dimethylphenylisocyanide or tert-butylisocyanide in toluene at room temperature affords the paramagnetic titanium(III) dinuclear adducts [{Ti(η5-C5Me5)Cl(μ-Cl)(CNR)}2] (R = 2,6-Me2C6H3 (9), tBu (10)). Magnetic studies for polycrystalline 9 show that it displays a weak intramolecular antiferromagnetic coupling between the Ti ions, which is consistent with the long Ti-Ti distance of 3.857(1) Å determined by X-ray diffraction. The isocyanide ligands in complex 10 undergo a reductive coupling reaction in toluene to give the titanium(IV) iminoacyl derivative [{Ti(η5-C5Me5)Cl2}2(μ-η2:η2-tBuN═C-C═NtBu)] (11). Whereas an analogous dinuclear structure was found in the aqua titanium(III) complex [{Ti(η5-C5Me5)Cl(μ-Cl)(OH2)}2] (12), resulting from the reaction of 4 with adventitious amounts of water, compound 4 reacts with excess ammonia to give a mononuclear adduct [Ti(η5-C5Me5)Cl2(NH3)2] (13) with a robust layered pattern in the solid state.

Abstract
This work describes reactions of heteroallenes with diamido-diamine cyclam-based Zr(iv) complexes of the general formula (Bn2Cyclam)ZrX2 (X = O(t)Bu, , O(i)Pr, , SPh, , NH(t)Bu, ) as well as the di-orthometallated species ((C6H4CH2)2Cyclam)Zr, . The reactions of isocyanates or isothiocyanates with , or resulted in the formation of N-bonded ureate or thioureate cyclam complexes upon [2 + 2] cycloaddition of the Zr-Namido bonds of the cyclam to the heteroallene (). DFT calculations showed that κ(2)-N,N'-ureate bonding is favoured over κ(2)-N,O-ureates, which in turn may be formed in reactions with bulky isocyanates as 1-naphthyl isocyanate (NpN[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]O). The reactions of with N,N'-cyclohexylcarbodiimide (CyN[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]NCy) and carbon disulfide afforded guanidinate and dithiocarbamate fragments, respectively, appended to one of the nitrogen atoms of the cyclam ligand. These reactions represent a reliable method for the synthesis of asymmetrically N-functionalized cyclams giving rise to C1 symmetry Zr(iv) species by addition of one equivalent of heteroallenes. The reaction of (Bn2Cyclam)Zr(NH(t)Bu)2, , with one equivalent of mesityl isocyanate (MesN[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]O) also proceeds through insertion, involving one Zr-NH(t)Bu bond. However, it was observed that the reaction of (Bn2Cyclam)Zr(NH(t)Bu)2, , with MesN[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]O follows a different path if the reaction is carried out at 60 °C. In this case the reaction leads to [2 + 2] addition of the Zr-Ncyclam bond to the isocyanate, with a concomitant occurrence of orthometallation of the one benzyl pending group of the cyclam ring. The reaction of (t)BuN[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]O with the di-orthometallated complex ((C6H4CH2)2Cyclam)Zr, , also gave a κ(2)-N,N'-ureate fragment, by isocyanate addition to the macrocycle. DFT calculations on these systems were conducted in an attempt to rationalise the reactivity patterns observed.

Abstract
An efficient multicomponent synthesis of 5-azaindoles and dihydropyrrolo[3,2-c]azepines was achieved by zirconocene-mediated coupling of silicon-tethered diynes, nitriles, and isocyanides. The synthesis, structures, and intramolecular cyclization of mono- and bis(iminoacyl)--Zr intermediates were investigated to elucidate the reaction process. Upon hydrolysis, the isolated mono(iminoacyl)--Zr intermediates underwent intramolecular cyclization to afford tetrasubstituted 5-azaindoles, whereas intramolecular cyclization of bis(iminoacyl)--Zr intermediates led to the formation of dihydropyrrolo[3,2-c]azepines. The structure of a bis(iminoacyl)--Zr intermediate, formed through insertion of two molecules of CyNC into the Zr--C bond, and structures of two dihydropyrrolo[3,2-c]azepines were characterized by single-crystal X-ray structural analysis.

Abstract
In this critical review we summarize the latest results obtained during the last decade concerning the catalytic activities of organoactinide complexes. We begin with a brief summary of the synthesis and characterization of uranium and thorium complexes that later will be used as catalysts for demanding chemical transformations. Hydroamination, hydrosilylation of terminal alkynes, coupling of terminal alkynes with isonitriles, catalytic reduction of azides and hydrazines, ring opening polymerization of cyclic esters and polymerization of alpha-olefins are covered in this review (118 references). The topics covered in this review regarding organoactinide chemistry will be of interest to inorganic, organic and organometallic chemists, material and catalytic scientists due to its unique mode of activation as compared to late transition-metals. In addition, the field of organoactinide complexes in catalysis is steadily growing, because of the complementary reactivity of organoactinides as compared to other early or late transition complexes, in demanding chemical transformations.

Abstract
The bis(stibido) complex CpCp*Hf(SbMes2)2 (2) was prepared and structurally characterized. Complex 2 reacts with 2 equiv of xylylisocyanide to give the bis-insertion product CpCp*Hf[C(SbMes2)=N(2,6-MeC6H3)]2 (4). The reaction of 2 with oxidants (I2 and O2) or donors (carbon monoxide and diphenylacetylene) or thermolysis promotes the reductive elimination of Sb2Mes4.

Abstract
Reaction of [eta:(5)sigma-Me2C(C5H4)(C2B10H10)]TiCl(NMe2) (1) with 1 equiv of PhCH2K, MeMgBr, or Me3SiCH2Li gave corresponding organotitanium alkyl complexes [eta:(5)sigma-Me2C(C5H4)(C2B10H10)]Ti(R)(NMe2) (R = CH2Ph (2), CH2SiMe3 (4), or Me (5)) in good yields. Treatment of 1 with 1 equiv of n-BuLi afforded the decomposition product {[eta:(5)sigma-Me2C(C5H4)(C2B10H10)]Ti}2(mu-NMe)(mu:sigma-CH2NMe) (3). Complex 5 slowly decomposed to generate a mixed-valence dinuclear species {[eta:(5)sigma-Me2C(C5H4)(C2B10H10)]Ti}2(mu-NMe2)(mu:sigma-CH2NMe) (6). Complex 1 reacted with 1 equiv of PhNCO or 2,6-Me2C6H3NC to afford the corresponding monoinsertion product [eta:(5)sigma-Me2C(C5H4)(C2B10H10)]Ti(Cl)[eta(2)-OC(NMe2)NPh] (7) or [eta:(5)sigma-Me2C(C5H4)(C2B10H10)]Ti(Cl)[eta(2)-C(NMe2)=N(2,6-Me2C6H3)] (8). Reaction of 4 or 5 with 1 equiv of R'NC gave the titanium eta(2)-iminoacyl complexes [eta:(5)sigma-Me2C(C5H4)(C2B10H10)]Ti(NMe2)[eta(2)-C(R)=N(R')] (R = CH2SiMe3, R' = 2,6-Me2C6H3 (9) or tBu (10); R = Me, R' = 2,6-Me2C6H3 (11) or tBu (12)). The results indicated that the unsaturated molecules inserted into the Ti-N bond only in the absence of the Ti-C(alkyl) bond and that the Ti-C(cage) bond remained intact. All complexes were fully characterized by various spectroscopic techniques and elemental analyses. Molecular structures of 2, 3, 6-8, and 10-12 were further confirmed by single-crystal X-ray analyses.

Abstract
The coupling reaction of terminal alkynes and tert-butylisonitrile to yield substituted alpha,beta-acetylenic aldimines is catalyzed by the organoactinide neutral complexes Cp*2AnMe2 (Cp* = C5Me5, An = Th, U) and the cationic complex [(Et2N)3U][BPh4]. The reaction proceeds by a 1,1-insertion of the isonitrile into the metal-acetylide bond. Additional insertion products can be obtained by altering the catalyst and the reactant ratios. A plausible mechanism for the catalytic reaction is presented, in addition to the crystal structure of Cp*2UMe2
