Abstract
We describe the synthesis, physicochemical characterization, and in vitro antitumor assays of four novel analogous ruthenium(II) complexes with general formula cis-[RuII(N-L)(P-P)2]PF6, where P-P = bis(diphenylphosphine)methane (dppm, in complexes 1 and 2) or bis(diphenylphosphine)ethane (dppe, in complexes 3 and 4) and N-L = 5,6-diphenyl-4,5-dihydro-2H-[1,2,4]triazine-3-thione (Btsc, in complexes 1 and 3) or 5,6-diphenyltriazine-3-one (Bsc, in complexes 2 and 4). The data were consistent with cis arrangement of the biphosphine ligands. For the Btsc and Bsc ligands, the data pointed to monoanionic bidentate coordination to ruthenium(II) through N,S and N,O, respectively. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction showed that complex 1 crystallized in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c. Determination of the cytotoxicity profiles of complexes 1-4 gave SI values ranging from 1.19 to 3.50 against the human lung adenocarcinoma cell line A549 and the non-tumor lung cell line MRC-5. Although the molecular docking studies suggested that the interaction between DNA and complex 4 was energetically favorable, the experimental results showed that they interacted weakly. Overall, our results demonstrated that these novel ruthenium(II) complexes have interesting in vitro antitumor potential and this study may contribute to further studies in medicinal inorganic chemistry.

Abstract
The stereoselective synthesis of 1,3-enynes from 1,3-diynes is demonstrated by palladium-catalyzed selective C–C bond cleavage of cyclopropanol. Exclusive formation of mono-alkenylated adducts was achieved by eliminating the possibility of di-functionalization with high stereoselectivity. Indeed, this protocol worked very well with electronically and sterically diverse substrates. Several studies, including deuterium labeling experiments and intermolecular competitive experiments, were carried out to understand the mechanistic details. The atomic-level mechanism followed in the catalytic process was also validated using DFT calculations, and the rate-controlling states in the catalytic cycle were identified. Furthermore, preliminary mechanistic investigations with radical scavengers revealed the non-involvement of the radical pathway in this transformation. Palladium-catalyzed tandem activation and functionalization of readily accessible cyclopropanols have been demonstrated to access valuable conjugated enynes from 1,3-diynes with high stereo-selectivity.![]()

Abstract
Chikungunya fever is a disease caused by the Chikungunya virus (CHIKV) that is transmitted by the bite of the female of Aedes sp. mosquito. The symptoms include fever, muscle aches, skin rash, and severe joint pains. The disease may develop into a chronic condition and joint pain for months or years. Currently, there is no effective antiviral treatment against CHIKV infection. Treatments based on natural compounds have been widely studied, as many drugs were produced by using natural molecules and their derivatives. Alpha-phellandrene (α-Phe) is a naturally occurring organic compound that is a ligand for ruthenium, forming the organometallic complex [Ru2Cl4(p-cymene)2] (RcP). Organometallic complexes have shown promising as candidate molecules to a new generation of compounds that presented relevant biological properties, however, there is a lack of knowledge concerning the anti-CHIKV activity of these complexes. The present work evaluated the effects of the RcP and its precursors, the hydrate ruthenium(III) chloride salt (RuCl3⋅xH2O) (Ru) and α-Phe, on CHIKV infection in vitro. To this, BHK-21 cells were infected with CHIKV-nanoluciferase (CHIKV-nanoluc), a viral construct harboring the nanoluciferase reporter gene, at the presence or absence of the compounds for 16 h. Cytotoxicity and impact on infectivity were analyzed. The results demonstrated that RcP exhibited a strong therapeutic potential judged by the selective index > 40. Antiviral effects of RcP on different stages of the CHIKV replicative cycle were investigated; the results showed that it affected early stages of virus infection reducing virus replication by 77% at non-cytotoxic concentrations. Further assays demonstrated the virucidal activity of the compound that completely blocked virus infectivity. In silico molecular docking calculations suggested different binding interactions between aromatic rings of RcP and the loop of amino acids of the E2 envelope CHIKV glycoprotein mainly through hydrophobic interactions. Additionally, infrared spectroscopy spectral analysis indicated interactions of RcP with CHIKV glycoproteins. These data suggest that RcP may act on CHIKV particles, disrupting virus entry to the host cells. Therefore, RcP may represent a strong candidate for the development of anti-CHIKV drugs.

Abstract
For the first time, the monoalkoxycarbonylation of easily available 1,3-diynes to give synthetically useful conjugated enynes has been realized. Key to success was the design and utilization of the new ligand 2,2'-bis(tert-butyl(pyridin-2-yl)phosphanyl)-1,1'-binaphthalene (Neolephos), which permits the palladium-catalyzed selective carbonylation under mild conditions, providing a general preparation of functionalized 1,3-enynes in good-to-high yields with excellent chemoselectivities. Synthetic applications that showcase the possibilities of this novel methodology include an efficient one-pot synthesis of 4-aryl-4H-pyrans as well as the rapid construction of various heterocyclic, bicyclic, and polycyclic compounds.

Abstract
This paper reports a new method for the generation of substituted 1,3-enynes, whose synthesis by other methods could be a challenge. The dehydrative decarboxylative cascade coupling reaction of propargyl alcohol with alkyl peroxides is enabled by an iron catalyst and alkylating reagents. Primary, secondary, and tertiary alkyl groups can be introduced into 1,3-enynes, affording various substituted 1,3-enynes in moderate to good yields. Mechanistic studies suggest the involvement of a radical-polar crossover pathway.

Abstract
Reported in this Article are the preparation and characterization of a series of new Ru2(II,III) compounds bearing one cross-conjugated σ-geminal-diethynylethene ligand (gem-DEE), namely, Ru2(Xap)4(Y-gem-DEE) (Xap = N,N'-anilinopyridinate (ap) or 2-(3,5-dimethoxy)anilinopyridinate (DiMeOap), and Y = Si(i)Pr3 (1) or H (2)) and [Ru2(ap)4]2(μ-gem-DEE) (3). Compounds 1-3 were characterized by spectroscopic and voltammetric techniques as well as the single crystal X-ray diffraction study of 2a. The X-ray structural data of 2a and the spectroscopic/voltammetric data of compounds 1 and 2 indicate that the gem-DEE ligands are similar to simple alkynyls in their effects on the molecular and electronic structures of the Ru2(Xap)4 moiety. Similar to the previously studied [Ru2(ap)4]2(μ-C2n) type compounds, dimer 3 exhibits pairwise 1e(-) oxidations and reductions, albeit the potential splits within the pair (ΔE1/2) are significantly smaller than those of [Ru2(ap)4]2(μ-C4). The electronic absorption spectra of the reduced and oxidized derivatives of 1a and 3 were determined using spectroelectrochemistry methods. No discernible intervalence charge transfer transition (IVCT) was detected in the near-IR spectrum for either 3(-) or 3(+), suggesting that the Ru2-Ru2 coupling in these mixed-valence states is weak. DFT calculations on a model compound of 3 yielded six singly occupied molecular orbitals (SOMOs), which have Ru2 contributions similar to those previously calculated for the [Ru2(ap)4]2(μ-C2n) type compounds. Among six SOMOs, SOMO-2 is the only one containing substantial dπ-π(gem-DEE) character across the entire Ru2-μ-gem-DEE-Ru2 linkage, which explains the weakened Ru2-Ru2 coupling.

Abstract
A 1,2,3-traizole-promoted iron(III)-catalyzed propargyl alcohol dehydration was developed for the synthesis of conjugated enynes. The desired conjugated enynes were prepared in good to excellent yields (up to 95%) with a large substrate scope and excellent stereoselectivity (only Z-isomers).
