Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as a highly promising platform for various sensing applications due to their tunable structures and functionalities. In the present work, a Eu3+-doped mixed-ligand MOF, namely, the Eu3+@UiO-66-IPA, exhibited excellent luminescent properties and high fluorescence stability in aqueous media, displaying dual-emission peaks under 395 and 615 nm excitation that were readily visible to the naked eye. Importantly, the presence of fluoride ions (F-) promoted the "antenna effect" between the ligand and the Eu3+ centers, which significantly enhanced the emission intensity of the Eu3+ characteristic peak. In addition, the addition of F- also inhibited the quenching effect of high-energy O-H bonds existing in the aqueous environment. Notably, Eu3+@UiO-66-IPA demonstrated exceptional selectivity for F- over a range of competing anions, with a remarkable limit of detection as low as 0.22 μM. The developed Eu3+-doped mixed-ligand MOF system offers a highly promising strategy for the simple and accurate sensing of F- in practical applications.

Abstract
This study explores various aspects of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), focusing on synthesis techniques to adjust pore size and key ligands and metals for crafting carrier MOFs. It investigates MOF-drug interactions, including hydrogen bonding, van der Waals, and electrostatic interactions, along with kinetic studies. The multifaceted applications of MOFs in drug delivery systems are elucidated. The morphology and structure of MOFs are intricately linked to synthesis methodology, impacting attributes like crystallinity, porosity, and surface area. Hydrothermal synthesis yields MOFs with high crystallinity, suitable for catalytic applications, while solvothermal synthesis generates MOFs with increased porosity, ideal for gas and liquid adsorption. Understanding MOF-drug interactions is crucial for optimizing drug delivery, affecting charge capacity, stability, and therapeutic efficacy. Kinetic studies determine drug release rates and uniformity, vital for controlled drug delivery. Overall, comprehending drug-MOF interactions and kinetics is essential for developing effective and controllable drug delivery systems.

Abstract
After entering the human body, drugs for treating diseases, which are prone to delivery and release in an uncontrolled manner, are affected by various factors. Based on this, many researchers utilize various microenvironmental changes encountered during drug delivery to trigger drug release and have proposed stimuli-responsive drug delivery systems. In recent years, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have become promising stimuli-responsive agents to release the loaded therapeutic agents at the target site to achieve more precise drug delivery due to their high drug loading, excellent biocompatibility, and high stimuli-responsiveness. The MOF-based stimuli-responsive systems can respond to various stimuli under pathological conditions at the site of the lesion, releasing the loaded therapeutic agent in a controlled manner, and improving the accuracy and safety of drug delivery. Due to the changes in different physical and chemical factors in the pathological process of diseases, the construction of stimuli-responsive systems based on MOFs has become a new direction in drug delivery and controlled release. Based on the background of the rapidly increasing attention to MOFs applied in drug delivery, we aim to review various MOF-based stimuli-responsive drug delivery systems and their response mechanisms to various stimuli. In addition, the current challenges and future perspectives of MOF-based stimuli-responsive drug delivery systems are also discussed in this review.

Abstract
Freshwater depletion is an alarm for finding an eco-friendly solution to treat wastewater for drinking and domestic applications. Though several methods like chlorination, filtration, and coagulation-sedimentation are conventionally employed for water treatment, these methods need to be improved as they are not environmentally friendly, rely on chemicals, and are ineffective for all kinds of pollutants. These problems can be addressed by employing an alternative solution that is effective for efficient water treatment and favors commercial aspects. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs), an emerging porous material, possess high stability, pore size tunability, greater surface area, and active sites. These MOFs can be tailored; thus, they can be customized according to the target pollutant. Hence, MOFs can be employed as adsorbents that effectively target different pollutants. Bio-MOFs are a kind of MOFs that are incorporated with biomolecules, which also possess properties of MOFs and are used as a nontoxic adsorbent. In this review, we elaborate on the interaction between MOFs and target pollutants, the role of linkers in the adsorption of contaminants, tailoring strategy that can be employed on MOFs and Bio-MOFs to target specific pollutants, and we also highlight the effect of environmental matrices on adsorption of pollutants by MOFs.

Abstract
Microbial fuel cells (MFCs) are a self-sustaining and environmentally friendly system for the simultaneous was tewater treatment and bioelectricity generation. The type and material of the electrode are critical factors that can influence the efficiency of this treatment process. In this study, graphite plates and carbon felt were modified through the electrodeposition of nickel followed by the formation of a biofilm, resulting in conductive bio-anode thin film electrodes with enhanced power generation capacity. The structural and morphological properties of the electrode surfaces were characterized using X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, elemental mapping, and field-emission scanning electron microscopy techniques. Maximum voltage, current density, and power generation were investigated using a dual-chamber MFC equipped with a Nafion 117 membrane and bio-nickel-doped carbon felt (bio-Ni@CF) and bio-nickel-doped graphite plate (bio-Ni@GP) electrodes under constant temperature conditions. The polarization and power curves obtained using different anode electrodes revealed that the maximum voltage, power and current density achieved with the bio-Ni@CF electrode were 468.0 mV, 130.72 mW/m2 and 760.0 mA/m2 respectively. Moreover, the modified electrodes demonstrated appropriate stability and resistance during successful runs. These results suggest that nickel-doped carbon-based electrodes can serve as suitable and stable supported catalysts and conductors for improving efficiency and increasing power generation in MFCs.

Abstract
The anomeric effect highlights the significant influence of the functional group and reaction conditions on oxidation-reduction. This article successfully investigates the anomeric effect in the synthesis of picolinate and picolinic acid derivatives through a multi-component reaction involving 2-oxopropanoic acid or ethyl 2-oxopropanoate, ammonium acetate, malononitrile, and various aldehydes. To facilitate this process, we employed UiO-66(Zr)-N(CH2PO3H2)2 as a novel nanoporous heterogeneous catalyst. The inclusion of phosphorous acid tags on the UiO-66(Zr)-N(CH2PO3H2)2 offers the potential for synthesizing picolinates at ambient temperature.

Abstract
Combining two different metals for the synthesis of a metal-organic framework (MOF) is a smart strategy for the architecture of new porous materials. Herein, a bimetal-organic framework (bimetal-MOFs) based on Fe and Co metals was synthesized. Then, phosphorous acid tags were decorated on bimetal-MOFs via a postmodification method as a new porous acidic functionalized catalyst. This catalyst was used for the synthesis of pyrazolo[4,3-e]pyridine derivatives as suitable drug candidates. The present study provides new insights into the architecture of novel porous heterogeneous catalysts based on a bimetal-organic framework (bimetal-MOFs). The type of final structures of catalyst and pyrazolo[4,3-e]pyridine derivatives were determined using different techniques such as fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX), SEM-elemental mapping, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherm, Barrett-Joyner-Halenda (BJH), thermogravimetry/differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA), 1H NMR, and 13C NMR.

Abstract
Herein, we report the design and synthesis of Co-MOF-71/imidazole/SO3H as a novel porous catalyst with sulfonic acid tags. The structure and morphology of the catalyst were investigated using various techniques such as Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), SEM elemental mapping, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Barret-Joyner-Halenda, and N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms. Co-MOF-71/imidazole/SO3H was studied in the preparation of novel pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridines under mild and green conditions via a cooperative vinylogous anomeric-based oxidation. A wide range of mono and bis pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridines were synthesized with good to excellent yields (65-82%). A hot filtration test for the heterogeneous nature of the catalyst indicated the high stability of the prepared catalyst. The recyclability of Co-MOF-71/imidazole/SO3H is another advantage of the present methodology. The structures of the final products were confirmed using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, and 13C-NMR spectroscopic techniques.

Abstract
Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as a promising biomedical material due to its unique features such as high surface area, pore volume, variable pore size, flexible functional groups, and excellent efficiency for drug loading. In this review, we explored the use of novel and smart metal organic frameworks as drug delivery vehicles to discover a safer and more controlled mode of drug release aiming to minimize their side effects. Here, we systematically discussed the background of MOFs following a thorough review on structural and physical properties of MOFs, their synthesis techniques, and the important characteristics to establish a strong foundation for future research. Furthermore, the current status on the potential applications of MOF-based stimuli-responsive drug delivery systems, including pH-, ion-, temperature-, light-, and multiple responsive systems for the delivery of anticancer drugs has also been presented. Lastly, we discuss the prospects and challenges in implementation of MOF-based materials in the drug delivery. Therefore, this review will help researchers working in the relevant fields to enhance their understanding of MOFs for encapsulation of various drugs as well as their stimuli responsive mechanism.

Abstract
Herein, we have presented a new insight for the synthesis of a hybrid heterogeneous catalyst. For this purpose, phosphonic acid tagged carbon quantum dots of CQDs-N(CH2PO3H2)2 encapsulated and assembled in channels of SBA-15 using a post-modification strategy. The mesoporous catalyst of functionalized carbon quantum dots (CQDs) was characterized by several techniques. CQDs-N(CH2PO3H2)2/SBA-15 as an excellent catalyst was applied for the preparation of novel pyrazolo[4',3':5,6]pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine derivatives by using pyrazole, barbituric acid and indole moieties at 100 °C under the solvent-free condition. The present work shows that a significant increase in the catalytic activity can be achieved by a rational design of mesoporous SBA-15 modified with CQDs for the synthesis of biological active candidates. The synthesized compounds did not convert to their corresponding pyridines via an anomeric-based oxidation mechanism.

Abstract
In this study, a novel functionalized metal-organic frameworks MIL-125(Ti)-N(CH2PO3H2)2 was designed and synthesized via post-modification methodology. Then, MIL-125(Ti)-N(CH2PO3H2)2 as a mesoporous catalyst was applied for the synthesis of a wide range of novel tetrahydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidines as bioactive candidate compounds by one-pot condensation reaction of 3-(1-methyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)-3-oxopropanenitrile, 6-amino-1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione and aromatic aldehydes at 100 °C under solvent-free condition. Interestingly, the preparation of tetrahydropyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine was achieved via vinylogous anomeric based oxidation mechanism with a high yield and short reaction time.

Abstract
Electro-organic synthesis has attracted a lot of attention in pharmaceutical science, medicinal chemistry, and future industrial applications in energy storage and conversion. To date, there has not been a detailed review on electro-organic synthesis with the strategy of heterogeneous catalysis. In this review, the most recent advances in synthesizing value-added chemicals by heterogeneous catalysis are summarized. An overview of electrocatalytic oxidation and reduction processes as well as paired electrocatalysis is provided, and the anodic oxidation of alcohols (monohydric and polyhydric), aldehydes, and amines are discussed. This review also provides in-depth insight into the cathodic reduction of carboxylates, carbon dioxide, CC, C≡C, and reductive coupling reactions. Moreover, the electrocatalytic paired electro-synthesis methods, including parallel paired, sequential divergent paired, and convergent paired electrolysis, are summarized. Additionally, the strategies developed to achieve high electrosynthesis efficiency and the associated challenges are also addressed. It is believed that electro-organic synthesis is a promising direction of organic electrochemistry, offering numerous opportunities to develop new organic reaction methods.

Abstract
In recent years, extensive research has been directed toward the successful preparation of nanoscale luminescent thermometers with high sensitivities operative in a broad temperature range. To achieve this goal, we have devised a unique design and facile multistep synthesis of Zr-ctpy-NMOF@TbxEuy compounds by confining Ln-complexes (Ln = Eu3+/Tb3+) into a robust nanoscale Zr-NMOF (MOF-808) via postsynthetic modification. Covalent grafting of 4-(4'-carboxyphenyl)-2,2':6,2″terpyridine ligand (ctpy) with a high triplet state energy and corresponding immobilization of bimetallic Ln3+ ions resulted in yellow light-emitting Zr-ctpy-NMOF@Tb1.66Eu0.14 to achieve a sensitivity of 5.2% K-1 (thermal uncertainty dT < 1 K) operative over a broad temperature range of 25-400 K. To defeat the odds related to the detection of minute temperature changes using luminescent materials, we prepared a white light-emitting Zr-ctpy-NMOF@Tb1.4Eu0.31 that showed temperature-modulated multispectrum chromism where the color drastically changes from green (at 25 K, Q.Y.: 20.21%) to yellowish-green (at 200 K, Q.Y.: 23.13%) to white (at 300 K, Q.Y.: 26.4%) to orange (at 350 K, Q.Y.: 26.93%) and finally red (at 400 K, Q.Y.: 28.2%) with a high energy transfer efficiency of 49.8%, which is further supported by electron-phonon coupling.

Abstract
In the current paper, we produce a new metal-organic framework (MOF) based on Zr metal, [Zr-UiO-66-PDC-SO3H]FeCl4, via an anion exchange method, which is fully characterized by FT-IR, SEM with elemental mapping and EDX, FE-SEM and TEM. Furthermore, the use of [Zr-UiO-66-PDC-SO3H]FeCl4 as a porous catalyst was examined for the one-pot synthesis of novel dihydrobenzo[g]pyrimido[4,5-b]quinoline derivatives by reaction of 6-amino-1,3-dimethylpyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione, 2-hydroxynaphthalene-1,4-dione and various aldehydes at 100 °C with good to excellent yields.

Abstract
The synthesis of five- and six-membered oxygen- and nitrogen-containing heterocycles has been regarded as the most fundamental issue in organic chemistry and chemical industry because they are used in producing high-value products. In this study, an efficient, economic, sustainable, and green protocol for multicomponent synthesis has been developed. The one-pot direct Knoevenagel condensation-Michael addition-cyclization sequences for the transformation of aromatic aldehydes, malononitrile, and 4-hydroxycoumarin or phthalhydrazide generate the corresponding dihydropyrano[2,3-c]chromenes and 1H-pyrazolo[1,2-b]phthalazine-5,10-diones over a novel mesoporous metal-organic framework-based supported Cu(II) nanocatalyst [UiO-66@Schiff-Base-Cu(II)] under ambient conditions. Moreover, the [UiO-66@Schiff-Base-Cu(II)] complex efficiently catalyzed the selectively large-scale synthesis of the target molecules with high yield and large turnover numbers. As presented, the catalyst demonstrates excellent reusability and stability and can be recycled up to six runs without noticeable loss of activity. Moreover, ICP-AES analysis showed that no leaching of Cu complex occurred during the recycling process of the heterogeneous [UiO-66@Schiff-Base-Cu(II)] nanocatalyst.
