Abstract
AIM The study was a methodological conducted to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Diabetes Caregiver Activity and Support Scale (D-CASS). METHODS This study was included on 272 individuals who cared for patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at least one year ago. Language, content, internal criterion, construct-concept validity were used to test the validity of the scale, and cronbach alpha, item-scale correlation, and test-retest were used to test the reliability. RESULTS The CVI was 0.95. The study was conducted with 272(60.3% female, 39.7% male) caregivers of individuals with type 2 diabetes. The study was found four week test-retest reliability with r = 0.70, p < 0001. The factor loadings of the scale items are between 0.77 and 0.95. The single factor obtained explains 75% of the total variance. The scale was found to have a high degree of reliability (Cronbach alpha=0.95). CONCLUSION The activities and supportive behaviours scale of caregivers of individuals with type 2 diabetes(D-CASS) is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used for the Turkish population.

Abstract
This study develops and verifies the use of the foot self-care behavioral model in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) receiving hemodialysis (HD) based on the information-motivation-behavioral skills model. Data were collected between June and August 2021 from 156 outpatients with type 2 diabetes who were receiving regular HD. A structured questionnaire and electronic medical records were used to collect demographic and disease-related data along with Foot Care Knowledge Questionnaires, third version of Diabetes Attitude Scale, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, Foot Care Confidence Scale, and Foot Self-care Behavior Scale. Age, diabetic foot care knowledge, social support, and foot care self-efficacy had a direct effect on foot self-care behavior. Foot care self-efficacy had a mediating effect on foot care knowledge, diabetes-related attitudes, social support, and foot self-care behavior. The information-motivation-behavioral skills model was suitable as a foot self-care behavioral model for patients with T2DM receiving HD. Additionally, these findings suggest that it is crucial to improve foot self-care behavior through increased foot care knowledge, diabetes-related attitudes, and social support, which could contribute to enhancing foot care self-efficacy.

Abstract
Objective Self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) plays a vital role in the maintenance of blood glucose with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) and pre-diabetes patients. The study was intended to describe the current status of SMBG with T2DM and pre-diabetes patients in grassroots communities, explore the relationship between SMBG frequency and blood glucose level and apply information-motivation-behavior(IMB) model to analyze the potential influencing factors of SMBG compliance based on electronic questionnaires. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted with 1388 T2DM and pre-diabetes patients who completed electronic questionnaires composed of demographics and IMB model content. Chi-square test, Mann-Whitney U test and multivariable logistic regression model analysis were utilized to explore deeply causes of SMBG compliance. Results The results of this study showed that among 1388 T2DM patients, only 26.2% (363/1388) patients reached SMBG standard, indicating low compliance with SMBG. Given that SMBG is one of the individual predictors of type 2 risk in prediabetes patients, this result suggests that the SMBG compliance rate needs to be improved. Patients with fixed occupation (OR=1.989, P=0.035), BMI in normal range (OR=1.336, P=0.049), smoking habit(OR=1.492, P=0.019), understanding SMBG frequency (OR=1.825, P<0.001), understanding control goal of blood glucose (OR=1.414, P<0.001), knowing all the functions of the blood glucose meter (OR=1.923, P<0.001), buying a blood glucose meter/test paper conveniently(OR=2.329, P=0.047), taking supplementary measurement when forgetting blood glucose test(OR=2.044, P=0.005), rotating all the fingers when measuring blood glucose (OR=1.616, P<0.001) and less pain at the needling site(OR=2.114, P<0.001)were independently promoting factors of adherence to SMBG. However, the lack of accessibility and convenience of blood glucose meter or heavy financial burden were blocking factors of adherence to SMBG. Moreover, there were still bottlenecks such as lack of health care knowledge and needle pricking pain. Conclusion This study verified the practicability of applying IMB model to SMBG with T2DM and pre-diabetes patients. Adherence to SMBG still remained to improved, and putting more emphasis in improvement of individual information, motivation and behavioral skills with patients might be beneficial to maintain better adherence to SMBG in long-term routine of diabetes self-management.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Stroke has become one of the most serious life-threatening diseases due to its high morbidity, disability, recurrence and mortality rates.
AIM To explore the intervention effect of multi-disciplinary treatment (MDT) extended nursing model on negative emotions and quality of life of young patients with post-stroke.
METHODS A total of 60 young stroke patients who were hospitalized in the neurology department of our hospital from January 2020 to December 2021 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group used the conventional care model and the experimental group used the MDT extended nursing model. After the in-hospital and 3-mo post-discharge interventions, the differences in negative emotions and quality of life scores between the two groups were evaluated and analyzed at the time of admission, at the time of discharge and after discharge, respectively.
RESULTS There are no statistically significant differences in the negative emotions scores between the two groups at admission, while there are statistically significant differences in the negative emotions scores within each group at admission and discharge, at discharge and post-discharge, and at discharge and post-discharge. In addition, the negative emotions scores were all statistically significant at discharge and after discharge when compared between the two groups. There was no statistically significant difference in quality of life scores at the time of admission between the two groups, and the difference between quality of life scores at the time of admission and discharge, at the time of discharge and post-discharge, and at the time of admission and post-discharge for each group of patients was statistically significant.
CONCLUSION The MDT extended nursing mode can improve the negative emotion of patients and improve their quality of life. Therefore, it can be applied in future clinical practice and is worthy of promotion.

Abstract
Purpose To construct an online caries management platform and evaluate its efficacy in children's caries prevention based on caries risk. Methods The study participants were second-grade pupils. The caries risk assessment tool (CAT) was used to grade caries risk for all participants, who were randomly divided into the experimental (114 pupils) and control (111 pupils) groups. The experimental group used the Internet for caries management, while the control group was managed by traditional lecturing in classroom. The caries status of each surface of the first permanent molars was recorded. The basic information and oral health knowledge, attitude, and behaviors of participants were collected by questionnaire. One year later, outcome data were collected. Pearson's chi-squared test was used to analyze the caries risk assessment items and oral health behaviors. The Mann-Whitney U-test was used to analyze the decayed-missing-filled surfaces (DMFS) index, plaque index, and scores of oral health knowledge and attitude. P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. This study was available on the website of Chinese Clinical Trials Register (No: MR-44-22-012947). Results After 1 year, the oral health knowledge score was improved by 20.58% (P < 0.001) in the experimental group and 6.02% in the control group. The plaque index was improved by 49.60% (P < 0.001) in the experimental group and 21.01% in the control group. The DMFS index increased in both groups but there were no significant differences (P = 0.608). The experimental group had a better improvement effect in caries risk assessment items than the control group, including "whether the frequency of eating sugary snacks or drinks between meals is more than 3 times/day" (P = 0.033) and the use of fluoridated toothpaste (P = 0.020). The experimental group was better than the control group in reported oral health behaviors, including frequency of eating sweets before sleep (P = 0.032), brushing time (P = 0.001), and the filled rate (proportion of FS in DMFS) of first permanent molars (P = 0.003). Conclusions The online caries management platform showed more advantages than traditional lecturing in improving oral health knowledge and behaviors (oral hygiene practice, sugar consumption behavior, and medical treatment behavior). This platform provides a reliable implementation path for the occurrence and continuous improvement of oral health-related behaviors.

Abstract
Objectives This study aims to investigate the effect of information and motivation on behavioral change related to the COVID-19 pandemic management in Indonesia. It also examines the role of behavioral skills in mediating the information-behavioral change relationship and the motivation-behavioral change relationship. Method This study employs the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the research hypotheses. Using the online survey method to collect data, 845 responses were obtained from several main islands of Indonesia. Results The results of the study show that information and motivation positively influence people's behavior changes. Behavioral skills mediate the influence of information and motivation on behavioral change. This study contributes to the development of the information-motivation-behavior model (IMB-Model). It also provides additional knowledge on pandemic management in the research setting of Indonesia as a country that has complex characteristics in terms of religion and belief, demography, culture, economy, and politics. Conclusions This study concludes that the success of Indonesia in dealing with the pandemic greatly depends on the success of changing the community behavior. Providing reliable and consistent information enhances people's motivation to build their behavioral skills. With increased behavioral skills, people have changed their behavior in fighting against COVID-19 by obeying health protocols, participating in vaccination programs, and practicing a healthier lifestyle.

Abstract
Background Self-management is important for the blood sugar control of middle-aged and elderly Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients, of which diet, exercise, and drug compliance are the most common components. The Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills Model (IMB) has been widely used in health behavior management and intervention. Objective The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the Diabetic Self-Management Scale (DSMS) based on the IMB model. Methods Self-report survey data was collected from middle-aged and elderly T2DM patients in Zhongmu City, Henan Province, China in November 2021 using convenience sampling. The original DSMS was developed through a literature review and summary of previous similar scales using an inductive approach. Item modification was finished by a panel of specialists. Exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were used to evaluate the reliability, convergent validity, discriminant validity, and criterion validity of DSMS. Results Four hundred and sixty nine T2DM patients completed the questionnaire survey. The final DSMS consists of 22 items with three dimensions, including information (five items), motivation (eight items), and behavior skills (nine items). The results of simple factor analysis showed that the KMO value was 0.839, Bartlett spherical test 2 = 3254.872, P < 0.001. The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that 2/df = 2.261, RMSEA = 0.073, CFI = 0.937, TLI = 0.930, and SRMR = 0.096. The standardized factor loadings of 22 DSMS items were all above 0.6, and the CR values of 3 dimensions were all higher than 0.9. In addition, DSMS also showed good discriminant and criterion validity. Conclusion The 22-item DSMS has good reliability and validity, and can be used to make diabetic self-management assessment regarding diet, physical activity, and medication among middle-aged and elderly Chinese T2DM patients. DSMS is of moderate length and easy to understand. It can be promoted in China in the future to understand the self-management status of middle-aged and elderly T2DM patients in China.

Abstract
PURPOSE To evaluate the effects of information-motivation-behavioral skills model interventions given by nurses during home visits on the knowledge levels, personal and social motivation levels, behavioral skills, and HbA1C levels of adolescents with poor glycemic control. DESIGN AND METHODS The present study was designed as randomized controlled trial. 50 adolescents with type 1 diabetes were equally divided into study and control groups. Socio-Demographic Form, Diabetes Information Evaluation Form, The Child Attitude Toward Illness Scale, The Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and Diabetes Management Self-Efficacy Scale were utilized in data collection. The scales were administered at the beginning of the study and six months later. HbA1c levels of adolescents were evaluated in the third and sixth months. Multiple home visits and phone calls were made to each participant in the intervention group. Interventions to improve the information-motivation-behavioral skills model-based knowledge, personal and social motivation, and behavioral skills were applied during the home visits. RESULTS As a result of information-motivation-behavioral skills model-based interventions, knowledge levels (p<0.001), personal motivation levels (p = 0.001), social motivation levels (p = 0.004), and behavioral skills (p<0.001) of the study group improved. Additionally, HbA1c levels decreased significantly in the third (p<0.001) and sixth months (p<0.001). CONCLUSION Information-Motivation-Behavioral Skills Model-based intervention effectively improved glycemic control among adolescents with type 1 diabetes. PRACTICE IMPLICATIONS Nurses should develop strategies to increase personal motivation, social motivation, and behavioral skills to training programs planned for adolescents with type 1 diabetes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study explored the factors influencing health behaviours during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak in China. The impact of perceived stress and positive perception of interventions on health behaviours in China were assessed using the extended information-motivation-behaviour skills (IMB) model. STUDY DESIGN Cross-sectional survey. METHODS The Questionstar online survey tool was used to construct a structured questionnaire based on the IMB model. Between 14 and 22 February 2020, during the peak of COVID-19 epidemic in China, 2449 participants were recruited by snowball sampling on WeChat and Tencent QQ social media platforms in China. Data were collected through an online questionnaire, and structural equation modelling was performed to evaluate the extended IMB model. RESULTS Health behaviours were assessed using a scoring system (total score range: 8-40); the average health behaviour score in this study was 34.62 ± 4.44. The term 'health risk stress' refers to the impact that perceived stress has on health, and this was experienced by 39.9% of participants. Only 35.9% of participants answered all seven questions on COVID-19 information correctly. The final model showed that information, motivation, behavioural skills, heath risk stress and positive perception of interventions had significant direct effects on health behaviours. Health behaviours were positively associated with the positive perception of interventions but negatively associated with health risk stress. Behavioural skills had the greatest impact on health behaviours. CONCLUSIONS In the face of public health emergencies, the extended IMB model has been used as a theoretical framework to construct more effective interventions. The government should pay attention to publicity and guidance, strengthen positive interactions with the public and disclose relevant information in a timely manner to gain trust and to maintain the positive public perception of the interventions. In terms of health education, the government should focus on behavioural skills, promptly rectify ineffective prevention information and raise awareness about the disease to relieve stress and anxiety in the population.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE In patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), disease control is still suboptimal-incorrect inhalation technique and medication non-adherence are two important reasons for this outcome. Pharmacists' interventions have been shown to have a positive effect on the clinical outcomes of asthma and COPD. Quantitative assessment of the efficacy of pharmacist-led interventions, mainly on inhalation techniques and medication adherence, is needed. Evidence for different interventions is not totally conclusive, and no results of theory-based adherence promotion interventions for asthma and COPD have been published. The objective of our study is to evaluate the effect of pharmacist-led interventions on asthma and COPD management, focusing mainly on inhalation technique and medication adherence, and whether the content of interventions (categorized based on Information-Motivation-Behavioural skills (IMB) model) affects the effectiveness and whether the IMB model is worthy of clinical promotion and application in adults with asthma or COPD. METHODS The PubMed, EMBASE, The Cochrane Library, Web of Science and ClinicalTrials.gov databases were searched for randomized controlled trials that involved pharmacist-led interventions among patients with asthma or COPD. We used database-specific vocabulary (eg, Medical Subject Headings) and free text terms expanding from 'asthma', 'COPD' and 'pharmacist' to identify relevant articles. Two reviewers independently selected the studies, assessed the risk of bias and extracted the data. The meta-analysis was performed in Review Manager 5.3 provided by the Cochrane Collaboration. PROSPERO registration number: CRD42019144793. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Thirteen studies were eligible for qualitative analysis, and 12 studies were included in the meta-analysis. Pharmacist-led interventions showed a positive effect on medication adherence (1.34 [95% CI 1.18-1.53], P < .0001) and inhalation technique (1.85 [95% CI 1.57-2.17], P < .00001) in COPD and asthma patients. In the subgroup meta-analysis, significant medication adherence improvement was found only in COPD patients (1.41 [1.24-1.61], P < .0001). The subgroup meta-analysis also noted that interventions that included all three Information-Motivation-Behavioural skills (IMB) constructs had a significant improvement in medication adherence (1.41 [1.24-1.61], P < .0001). Subgroup meta-analysis conducted between different diseases, different intervention contents, and different measure tools did not significantly change the heterogeneity. WHAT IS NEW AND CONCLUSION Pharmacist-led interventions can improve inhalation technique in adult asthma and COPD patients. Significant improvement in medication adherence was found only in COPD patients. The effect among asthmatic patients requires further study. Interventions based on the IMB model may be worthy of clinical promotion and application. More future research is needed to establish solid evidence base for effective interventions and uniform measurement of medication adherence.
