Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated disease. The systemic inflammation triggered by psoriasis contributes significantly to increased cardiovascular risk. While various treatments completely clear the skin, the associated effects on systemic inflammation are not yet clear. We investigated residual systemic inflammation in successfully treated patients. Circulating disease-specific and non-specific inflammatory markers were measured and compared in 80 psoriasis patients (aged 30-45 years) successfully treated with topical therapy, methotrexate, adalimumab, secukinumab or guselkumab, and in 20 healthy controls. Non-specific inflammatory markers (high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), complete blood count (CBC) parameters, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), mean platelet volume-to-platelet ratio (MPR), and red blood cell distribution width-to-platelet ratio (RPR)) and disease-specific inflammatory markers (interferon-γ (IFN-γ), tumor necrosis factor (TNF), interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-12p70, IL-17, and IL-23) were measured and compared between groups. Disease-specific cytokines (IFN-γ, TNF, IL-1β, IL-12p70, and IL-17, but not IL-23), were significantly elevated in patients compared to controls, while non-specific inflammatory markers showed no differences compared to controls. The residual disease-specific cytokines were similarly elevated in all five treated groups. In addition, they correlated significantly with body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference. Our results suggest that psoriasis patients have elevated residual disease-specific cytokines despite successful treatment, while the non-specific inflammatory markers are similar to those in control subjects. Residual disease-specific inflammatory markers correlated with BMI and waist circumference. A possible beneficial effect of body weight control in psoriasis patients merits further investigation. Abstract
BACKGROUND High salt intake may play a critical role in the etiology of psoriasis. Yet, evidence on the association of high salt intake with risk of psoriasis is limited. OBJECTIVE To estimate the association between frequency of adding salt to foods and risk of psoriasis. METHODS We conducted a prospective cohort study of 433,788 participants from the UK Biobank. Hazard ratios (HRs) and their 95 % confidence intervals (CIs) for risk of psoriasis in relation to frequency of adding salt to foods were estimated using multivariable Cox proportional hazards models. We further evaluated the joint association of adding salt to foods and genetic susceptibility with risk of psoriasis. We conducted a mediation analysis to assess how much of the effect of adding salt to foods on risk of psoriasis was mediated through several selected mediators. RESULTS During a median of 14.0 years of follow-up, 4279 incident cases of psoriasis were identified. In the multivariable-adjusted model, a higher frequency of adding salt to foods was significantly associated with an increased risk of psoriasis ("always" versus "never/rarely" adding salt to foods, HR = 1.25, 95 % CI: 1.10, 1.41). The observed positive association was generally similar across subgroups. In the joint association analysis, we observed that participants with a high genetic risk (above the second tertile) and the highest frequency of adding salt to foods experienced 149 % higher risk of psoriasis, when compared with participants with a low genetic risk (below the first tertile) and the lowest frequency of adding salt to foods (HR = 2.49, 95 % CI: 2.05, 3.02). Mediation analysis revealed that 1.8 %-3.2 % of the positive association between frequency of adding salt and risk of psoriasis was statistically significantly mediated by obesity and inflammatory biomarkers such as C-reactive protein and systemic immune-inflammation index (all P values < 0.004). CONCLUSIONS Our study demonstrated a positive association between frequency of adding salt to foods and risk of psoriasis. The positive association was independent of multiple other risk factors, and may be partially mediated through obesity and inflammation.

Abstract
The disease severity of psoriasis is mainly assessed subjectively via psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) and body surface area (BSA), while an optimal measure of cutaneous response, may overlook systemic inflammation in psoriasis patients. The neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR), monocyte to lymphocyte ratio (MLR), monocyte to high density lipoprotein ratio (MHR), and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) exhibit notable associations with the inflammation severity in multiple diseases. The aim of this retrospective study was to explore the associations between inflammatory parameters and the skin lesions' severity of psoriasis. After analysis, we found that patients with psoriasis had higher NLR, MLR, PLR, MHR, and SII levels compared to the control group. At baseline, the parameters of NLR (r = 0.124, P = 0.003), MLR (r = 0.153, P < 0.001), MHR (r = 0.217, P < 0.001) and SII (r = 0.141, P = 0.001) had a positive correlation with PASI in psoriasis patients. At the same time, we analyzed the patients who received different systemic therapy. We observed a significant decrease in NLR, PLR, MLR, and SII in psoriasis patients after treatment. Notably, TNF-α inhibitors and IL-17A inhibitors subgroups showed a more significant reduction than IL-23/IL-12/23 inhibitors and MTX medication. Additionally, we found the change of NLR (r = 0.194, P < 0.001), PLR (r = 0.104, P = 0.014), MLR (r = 0.191, P < 0.001), MHR (r = 0.106, P = 0.012), and SII (r = 0.228, P < 0.001) had a positive correlation with the change of PASI in psoriasis patients. In conclusion, this study suggests that NLR, MLR, and SII may serve as useful biomarkers for assessing systemic inflammation extent and disease severity in psoriasis patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The association between the systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) and the serum soluble-Klotho concentration (pg/ml) in osteoarthritis (OA) patients is unknown. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the SII and serum soluble-Klotho levels in OA patients. METHODS All study data were obtained from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database (n = 1852 OA patients; age range = 40-79 years). The SII and serum Klotho measurement data are from the NHANES mobile examination centre. The SII values were divided into quartiles (Q1-4: 0.02-3.36, 3.36-4.78, 4.79-6.70, and 6.70-41.75). A multivariate linear regression model was constructed to evaluate the association between the SII and serum Klotho levels in OA patients; interaction tests were conducted to test the stability of the statistical results. RESULTS Multivariate linear regression revealed a negative linear relationship between the SII and serum Klotho concentration in OA patients (β = -6.05; 95% CI: -9.72, -2.39). Compared to Q1, Q4 was associated with lower serum Klotho concentrations (β = -59.93; 95% CI: -96.57, -23.28). Compared with that of Q1, the β value of Q2-Q4 showed a downwards trend as the SII increased (Ptrend <0.001). The stratified analysis results indicated that the SII had a greater sensitivity in predicting serum Klotho concentrations in OA patients aged 60-79 years (Pinteraction = 0.028). CONCLUSIONS There was a significant negative linear correlation between the SII and serum Klotho concentration in OA patients. The SII can serve as a predictive indicator of serum Klotho concentrations in OA patients. Klotho may be a potential anti-inflammatory drug for OA treatment.

Abstract
Background The systemic immune-inflammation index (SII),as measured by lymphocyte, neutrophil and platelet counts in peripheral blood, is regarded as a favorable indicator of both inflammatory state and immune response. Psoriasis is an immune-mediated disease notable for its chronic inflammation of the entire system. Our research sought to explore the latent link between psoriasis and SII. Methods We performed a cross-sectional investigation utilizing data extracted from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES, 2009-2014). Employing multivariate linear regression models and subgroup analysis, we sought to uncover the association between SII and psoriasis. Results This study enrolled a total of 17,913 participants as part of its research cohort. Our multivariate linear regression analysis revealed a notable and positive correlation between SII and psoriasis [1.013 (1.000, 1.026)]. As SII tertiles increased, the risk of psoriasis demonstrated an upward trend. The significant dependence on this positive association were maintained in women, BMI(≥ 30 kg/m2),non-stroke and non-cancer subjects in subgroup analysis and interaction tests. Furthermore, we identified a significant association between SII and psoriasis, characterized by two consecutive inverted U-shaped patterns. Notably, the analysis revealed the most prominent inflection point at a specific value of 797.067. Conclusions The results indicate a significant correlation between elevated SII levels and the presence of psoriasis. However, to corroborate and strengthen these results, additional large-scale prospective studies are required.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To investigate the association between the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and psoriasis. DESIGN Cross-sectional study. SETTING National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2011-2014. PARTICIPANTS A subsample of 8387 individuals aged 18 years and older were screened for inclusion, of whom 238 reported a diagnosis of psoriasis. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OUTCOME MEASURES Psoriasis and the severity of psoriasis were defined according to participants' self-reports. Weighted logistic regression, subgroup and restricted cubic spline (RCS) analyses were conducted to estimate the potential relationship of the NLR with psoriasis. RESULTS In the fully adjusted models, the fourth quartile of the NLR was significantly and positively associated with the presence of psoriasis using the first quartile as a reference (OR: 2.22, 95% CI: 1.27 to 3.87, p=0.01). Elevated NLR was associated with an increased odds of having more severe psoriasis for the highest quartile (vs the lowest quartile), with an OR of 2.43 (95% CI: 1.10 to 5.36, p=0.003). The association between the NLR and psoriasis differed across prespecified subgroups by age, sex, race, income and education. A non-linear correlation of the NLR with psoriasis was observed using univariable and multivariable RCS (all p for non-linearity <0.05). CONCLUSIONS The NLR was non-linearly and positively correlated with the presence of psoriasis, and our findings suggest a significant association between the NLR and the severity of psoriasis. The potential role and value in the clinical diagnosis and prognostic assessment of the NLR in psoriasis calls for further longitudinal studies.

Abstract
What is already known about this topic? Hematological parameters may indicate the presence of chronic low-grade inflammation and increasing viscosity, which are involved in the pathological processes of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). However, the association between several hematological parameters in early pregnancy and GDM has yet to be elucidated. What is added by this report? Hematological parameters in the first trimester, particularly red blood cell (RBC) count and systematic immune index, have a significant impact on GDM incidence. The neutrophils (NEU) count in the first trimester was particularly pronounced for GDM. The upward trend of RBC, white blood cell (WBC), and NEU counts was consistent across all GDM subtypes. What are the implications for public health practice? Early pregnancy hematological parameters are associated with the risk of GDM.
