Abstract
AIMS Diagnosis of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) is based on morphological characteristics and the evaluation of disease-related proteins. However, although broadly applied, substantial bias is imposed by the respective methods, observers and individual staining approaches. We aimed to quantify the protein levels of major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-1, (MHC)-2 and intercellular adhesion molecule (ICAM)-1 using an automated morphometric method to mitigate bias. METHODS Double immunofluorescence staining was performed on whole muscle sections to study differences in protein expression in myofibre and endomysial vessels. We analysed all IIM subtypes including dermatomyositis (DM), anti-synthetase syndrome (ASyS), inclusion body myositis (IBM), immune-mediated-necrotising myopathy (IMNM), dysferlinopathy (DYSF), SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination-associated myopathy. Biopsies with neurogenic atrophy (NA) and normal morphology served as controls. Bulk RNA-Sequencing (RNA-Seq) was performed on a subset of samples. RESULTS Our study highlights the significance of MHC-1, MHC-2 and ICAM-1 in diagnosing IIM subtypes and reveals distinct immunological profiles. RNASeq confirmed the precision of our method and identified specific gene pathways in the disease subtypes. Notably, ASyS, DM and SARS-CoV-2-associated myopathy showed increased ICAM-1 expression in the endomysial capillaries, indicating ICAM-1-associated vascular activation in these conditions. In addition, ICAM-1 showed high discrimination between different subgroups with high sensitivity and specificity. CONCLUSIONS Automated morphometric analysis provides precise quantitative data on immune-associated proteins that can be integrated into our pathophysiological understanding of IIM. Further, ICAM-1 holds diagnostic value for the detection of IIM pathology.

Abstract
Background and Aims Telemedicine, with Teledermatology, has become a central component of modern medicine. Its importance, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, underlines its potential to optimize access for dermatological needs. The study aims to assess the potential of teledermatology, understand the importance of linking digital and physical practices, and analyze the adoption of online services based on participants' demographic and experiential factors. Methods This cross-sectional survey was conducted among users of the telemedicine platform from July 2022 to March 2023. The platform ("OnlineDoctor") allows users to contact dermatologists for remote dermatological consultations. The survey included questions about the participants' dermatological concerns, their reasons for using teledermatology, their satisfaction with the recommendations and their willingness to continue using telemedicine in the future. Data was collected via the RedCap online platform. Descriptive statistics and regression analyses were carried out. Results Overall, 1141 people participated in the study (mean age 44.0 years [SD 14.6], 61.4% women). Results showed that 52.7% of participants with skin conditions had not consulted a dermatologist in the previous year. Shorter waiting times and the lack of face-to-face appointments were the main reasons for using the online platform. In total, 77.6% (n = 885) of participants indicated they would use teledermatology as their first choice if they had an upcoming skin condition. Age, gender, and satisfaction with previous consultations impacted the use of teledermatology as the first choice for future skin conditions. Conclusion Teledermatology is characterized by various benefits, including reduced waiting times and improved accessibility to treatment. Nevertheless, the study underscores the importance of a hybrid care approach with direct interaction with the physician. Teledermatology can be transformative in meeting dermatologic needs, mainly when traditional face-to-face consultation is limited. A deep understanding of user preferences and widespread adoption of digital services can pave the way for the successful adoption of teledermatology platforms, improving healthcare accessibility and efficiency.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) affects different organ systems, including the skin. A retrospective analysis of skin manifestations in Chinese outpatient and inpatient settings is lacking. The study aims to analyze cutaneous manifestations in COVID-19 patients and the recurrence or aggravation of previous skin diseases. MATERIALS AND METHODS A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted from November 2022 to July 2023 in a university hospital in eastern China. It involved reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR)-positive COVID-19 patients, documenting various skin manifestations and the recurrence or aggravation of pre-existing skin conditions. The pattern of skin lesions and other variables were assessed. RESULTS The study included 303 patients, with 127 males and 176 females. Maculopapular rash was the predominant new cutaneous manifestation (54.92%), mainly in middle-aged individuals. Other findings included urticaria (16.39%), herpes zoster (11.89%), and herpes simplex (4.10%), vesicular rashes (2.46%), purpura (2.05%), erythema multiforme (1.64%), livedo reticularis (0.41%) and so on. Severe disease was associated with herpes zoster and livedo reticularis. Critical COVID-19 cases were linked to vesicular rashes, purpura, and erythema multiforme. The mean time for skin lesion emergence post-infection varied from 3 days for seborrheic dermatitis to 17.48 days for herpes zoster. Vasculitic manifestations correlated with elevated D-dimer levels. A total of 59 cases (19.47%) of recurrent or aggravated skin diseases were reported following infection with COVID-19, with dermatitis being the most common, followed by acne and folliculitis, psoriasis, urticaria, bullous pemphigoid, pemphigus, tinea corporis and androgenetic alopecia. CONCLUSION The cutaneous phenotypes delineated in this study expand the dermatologic spectrum associated with COVID-19. Cutaneous manifestations may result from overactive immune responses, complement activation, and microvascular damage. Herpes zoster typically occurs in elderly COVID-19 patients with weaker immune systems or more severe diseases. Purpura and livedo reticularis, although rare, may indicate disease severity. It is possible to predict the course of COVID-19 with different severity through cutaneous manifestations. Recognizing these skin manifestations could aid in predicting COVID-19 severity and guide dermatologists in managing the pandemic response.

Abstract
As the number of vaccinated individuals has increased, there have been increasing reports of cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions. The main COVID-19 vaccines administered include messenger ribonucleic acid vaccines, non-replicating viral vector vaccines, inactivated whole-virus vaccines, and protein-based vaccines. These vaccines contain active components such as polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, aluminum, tromethamine, and disodium edetate dihydrate. Recent advances in understanding the coordination of inflammatory responses by specific subsets of lymphocytes have led to a new classification based on immune response patterns. We categorize these responses into four patterns: T helper (Th)1-, Th2-, Th17/22-, and Treg-polarized cutaneous inflammation after stimulation of COVID-19 vaccines. Although the association between COVID-19 vaccination and these cutaneous adverse reactions remains controversial, the occurrence of rare dermatoses and their short intervals suggest a possible relationship. Despite the potential adverse reactions, the administration of COVID-19 vaccines is crucial in the ongoing battle against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2.

Abstract
Scientists from various areas of the world indicate in their studies that skin lesions occur in the course of infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This article is a review of the most frequently described cutaneous manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection and the potential pathophysiology of their development, as well as information on abnormalities in histopathological tests. The article describes the impact of some factors related to the COVID-19 pandemic on the exacerbation of chronic dermatological diseases. This work was constructed on the basis of 142 research studies, reviews, and meta-analyses, focusing on the methods and materials used in individual works as well as the results and conclusions resulting from them. Some skin lesions may be a potential prognostic marker of the course of the disease and may also be a prodromal symptom or the only symptom of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection. Stress related to the COVID-19 pandemic may exacerbate some chronic dermatological diseases. A correlation was observed between the type of skin lesions and the patient's age. The occurrence of skin diseases may also be influenced by drugs used to treat infections caused by SARS-CoV-2. A relationship was observed between the patient's ethnic origin and skin lesions occurring in the course of COVID-19. There is a need to further diagnose the cutaneous manifestations of SARS-CoV-2 infection and to learn the detailed pathomechanism of their occurrence in order to better understand the essence of the disease and find an appropriate treatment method.

Abstract
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory cutaneous disease with multifactorial pathogenesis involving both genetic and environmental factors as well as the innate and acquired immune response. Several triggering factors may exacerbate or worsen the disease. In this context, we performed a review manuscript with the aim of investigating current literature on psoriasis risk factors, also showing possible mechanisms by which they act on psoriasis. Globally, risk factors can be divided in classic risk factors (eg, mechanical stress, infections and dysbiosis of the skin, common drugs, environment and pollution, lifestyle, psychological stress, hormonal and metabolic alterations) which have long been known to be responsible for worsening and/or reoccurrence of psoriatic manifestations, and emerging risk factors (eg, biological drugs, immunotherapy for oncologic disease, Covid-19, and vaccines) defined as those newly identified risk factors. Accurate patient information and monitoring of risk factors as well as planned follow-ups may help to prevent and treat the worsening of psoriasis and consequently improve the quality of life of psoriatic patients.

Abstract
Currently, four vaccines for COVID-19 have been licensed by the European Medicines Agency: two viral vector-based vaccines and two mRNA-based vaccines. Since their approval, several cutaneous reactions related to vaccination have been reported in the literature. Among these, viral reactivations are one of the most frequent. The aim of this article was to investigate the current literature regarding viral reactivations following COVID-19 vaccination, focusing attention on pityriasis rosea (PR), herpes zoster and herpes simplex. A comprehensive literature search using various databases was performed and we included metanalyses, reviews, letters to the editor, real-life studies, case series and reports. A total of 48 articles involving 2067 patients were selected. Of these, 32, 6 and 17 articles reported varicella zoster virus (VZV) reactivation (1758 patients), herpes simplex virus (HSV) (238 patients) onset and PR (71 patients), respectively (some articles discussed more than one of these three reactivations). Possible pathogenetic mechanisms underlying viral reactivation are still not understood. Also, the possible correlations between vaccination and viral reactivation should be clarified. Certainly, vaccination should not be discouraged.

Abstract
Transient acantholytic dermatosis, also known as Grover's disease, is an acquired dermatological condition characterised by the sudden emergence of pruritic, erythematous papules, or vesicles, primarily affecting the trunk. It is observed most commonly in men older than 50 years. Histology typically demonstrates a pattern of focal acantholysis within the epidermis, dyskeratotic cells including corps ronds and grains, and a variable perivascular lymphocytic infiltrate in the upper dermis. While its aetiology is not well understood, recognised triggers include excessive heat, sweating, sun exposure, and certain drugs, such as chemotherapy agents. More recently, isolated reports of Grover's disease and Grover-like skin eruptions have been described in patients with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and following COVID-19 vaccination. We report the case of a 65-year-old man who presented to secondary care with a nine-day history of an intensely pruritic rash over his chest and back. On internal medical workup, he was found to have SARS-CoV-2 infection and rapidly deteriorated due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-associated pneumonia, necessitating a 10-day hospital admission for supportive care. Diagnostic workup of his skin lesions confirmed transient acantholytic dermatosis (Grover's disease), which resolved following a course of oral corticosteroids. This case underscores the rare but significant association between Grover's disease and COVID-19, contributing valuable insights to the evolving body of literature on cutaneous lesions associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection, and highlighting the importance of considering SARS-CoV-2 screening as part of the diagnostic workup for patients presenting with Grover-like skin eruptions.

Abstract
BACKGROUND COVID-19, the widely recognized and highly contagious respiratory tract infection, has had a substantial impact on the field of dermatology since its emergence in 2019. SARS-CoV-2, the causative virus of COVID-19, is classified as an RNA virus. Various skin-related symptoms have been reported in patients with COVID-19, most notably the distinctive purple-red acral rash resembling chilblain lesions, commonly referred to as 'COVID toe'; similarly, skin-related symptoms have been observed in connection with other RNA viruses. OBJECTIVES To explore the relationship between RNA viruses and their associated vascular cutaneous manifestations vs. those observed in patients infected with SARS-CoV-2. METHODS A systematic literature review was conducted using PubMed and medical subject heading terms related to RNA viruses and related skin manifestations. RESULTS In total, 3994 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 presenting with skin rashes were included. Chilblain-like lesions were most frequently observed (30.2%), followed by erythematous maculopapular/morbilliform rashes (9.1%) and urticarial rashes (4.7%). Of 8362 patients diagnosed with RNA viruses, more than half of the skin findings reported were erythematous/maculopapular/morbilliform rashes (52.3%), followed by unspecified (11.3%) and purpuric rashes (10.6%). CONCLUSIONS When comparing RNA viral infections with COVID-19 infection, we observed similarities in the reported skin manifestations and their presumed pathways, with many implicated in the proinflammatory response. Owing to the wide range of cutaneous symptoms associated with RNA viruses and our currently limited understanding of the underlying mechanisms, additional research is warranted to investigate the pathology behind viral-induced skin lesions.

Abstract
The existing literature supports the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiviral capacities of the polyphenol extracts derived from Geranium sanguineum L. These extracts exhibit potential in hindering viral replication by inhibiting enzymes like DNA polymerase and reverse transcriptase. The antiviral properties of G. sanguineum L. seem to complement its immunomodulatory effects, contributing to infection resolution. While preclinical studies on G. sanguineum L. suggest its potential effectiveness against COVID-19, there is still a lack of clinical evidence. Therefore, the polyphenols extracted from this herb warrant further investigation as a potential alternative for preventing and treating COVID-19 infections.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dermatomyositis (DM) is an idiopathic immune-mediated myopathy, and may involve many organs, including muscles, skin and lungs. Myositis-specific autoantibodies (MSAs) are a useful aid in diagnosis DM and identifying its clinical subtype. During the COVID-19 pandemic, several studies found clinical similarities regarding lung involvement in both COVID-19 and DM. Such similarities have prompted speculation of a common pathogenetic mechanism. Indeed, viral infections are well-known triggers of autoimmune diseases. This prompted us to investigate whether circulating MSAs could be markers of the severity of lung involvement and of clinical outcome in COVID-19 patients. Moreover, we investigated the presence of cutaneous signs of DM in COVID-19 patients. METHODS We conducted a retrospective cohort study on 178 hospitalized patients affected by COVID-19. The diagnosis was confirmed by naso-pharyngeal swab positivity for SARS-CoV-2. The severity of lung involvement was assessed by assigning to each patient a radiological score ranging from 1 to 4, based on chest imaging (chest X-rays or CT scans). Serum samples were tested for MSAs. RESULTS Anti-PL-7 antibodies were detected in 10.1% of patients and were found to be associated with an increased risk of severe pulmonary involvement (p = 0.019) and a worse prognosis in COVID-19 patients. Cutaneous lesions were observed in 26.4% of patients. However, none were cutaneous manifestations of DM. CONCLUSIONS The detection of anti-PL7 antibodies might predict severe pulmonary involvement and a worse prognosis in COVID-19 patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Effective pain control of herpes zoster ophthalmicus (HZO) is not only essential to attenuate the clinical symptoms but to reduce the risk of postherpetic neuralgia development. Recently, neuromodulation therapy has been one promising option for neuropathic pain and increasingly applied in management of zoster-related pain. One key factor of neuromodulation treatment is the therapeutic site for the impaired nerves. In this study we aim to investigate one novel dual-neuromodulation strategy, targeting the level of the peripheral branch and trigeminal ganglion, in the pain management of HZO. METHODS Dual neuromodulation strategy combining short-term peripheral nerve stimulation (PNS) with pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) of trigeminal ganglion was compared with single PNS treatment for HZO-related pain. Clinical recordings of patients were retrospectively reviewed. The primary outcome was the pain severity, assessed by the visual analogue scale (VAS) before and after neuromodulation therapy. RESULTS PNS achieved significant relief of pain with or without PRF treatment before discharge, which provided enduring therapeutic effect up to 12-month follow-up. The mean reduction of VAS was 6.7 ± 1.4 in dual modulation therapy (n = 13) at last follow-up and 5.4 ± 1.5 in PNS subgroup (n = 20), respectively. Moreover, dual modulation strategy provided better control of pain compared with PNS therapy alone at each time point. CONCLUSION It is feasible and effective to combine the PNS and PRF in pain management of HZO. This novel dual modulation strategy of trigeminal pathway may provide additional therapeutic effects of pain symptoms in HZO population.

Abstract
We report the case of a patient who was diagnosed with two melanomas and one skin cancer within two years. Of particular interest was the fact, that at the time these tumors were diagnosed, the patient was already suffering from chronic myeloid leukemia, which developed three months after recovering from Covid-19. From the time of leukemia occurrence, the patient has been taking the tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) - Gleevec. Thus, we took into the account the possibile effect of Gleevec administration on the risk of skin tumor appearance. It was also important to analyze the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and chronic myeloid leukemia on the risk of secondary malignancies. According to so far published data, the direct relationship between Gleevec treatment and the occurrence of skin cancers cannot be proved. However, literature data indicate a direct and indirect relationship between SARS-CoV-2 infection and an increased incidence of carcinogenesis.

Abstract
In the quest to eliminate measles virus (MV) and rubella virus (Ruv), every suspected case must be properly identified and diagnosed. Since 2017, in Milan (Italy), a total of 978 measles and rubella suspected cases (fever and rash) were investigated and 310 were not laboratory confirmed (discarded cases). To improve surveillance activities, we investigated the presence in discarded cases of 8 other viral pathogens commonly associated with rash: human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) and 7 (HHV-7), parvovirus B19 (B19V), enterovirus (EV), Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), human adenovirus (HAdV), cytomegalovirus (HCMV), and SARS-CoV-2. Differential diagnosis was carried out on 289 discarded cases by multiplex real-time PCR assays. At least one pathogen was detected in 188 cases (65.1%) with HHV-7 being the most frequently detected virus. No difference in the number of detected infections overtime was observed and infections were identified in all age groups. As expected, most HHV-6, EV, HAdV, and HCMV-positive cases were found in children aged 0-4 years and HHV-7 was most frequent in the 15-39 age group. In light of the World Health Organization measles elimination goal, the introduction of laboratory methods for differential diagnosis is required for the final classification of clinically compatible cases. The used screening panel allowed us to increase the percentage of virus-positive cases to 87.5%, allowing us to clarify viral involvement and epidemiology, improve diagnosis, and strengthen surveillance activities. As all investigated pathogens were detected, this diagnostic panel was a suitable tool to complement MV and RuV surveillance activities.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Several studies suggested that SARS-CoV-2 was already spreading worldwide during the last months of 2019 before the first outbreak was detected in Wuhan, China. Lombardy (Northern Italy) was the first European region with sustained SARS-CoV-2 transmission and recent investigations detected SARS-CoV-2-RNA-positive patients in Lombardy since late 2019. METHODS We tested for anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG all serum samples available in our laboratory (N = 235, collected between March 2017 and March 2022) that we received within the framework of measles/rubella surveillance from measles and rubella virus-negative patients. RESULTS Thirteen of 235 samples (5.5%) were IgG-positive. The positivity rate increased starting in 2019 and was significantly different from the expected false positive rate from 2019 onwards. Additionally, in 2019 the percentage of IgG-positive patients was significantly lower among SARS-CoV-2 RNA-negative patients (3/92) compared to SARS-CoV-2 RNA-positive patients (2/7, p = 0.04). The highest percentage of IgG positivity in the pre-pandemic period was recorded during the second half of 2019. This coincided with an increase in negativity for measles and a widening of the peak of the number of measles discarded cases per 100,000 inhabitants, indicating a higher-than-normal number of measles-negative patients experiencing fever and rash. This also coincided with the first patient positive for SARS-CoV-2 RNA (September 12th, 2019); this patient was also positive for anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG and IgM. CONCLUSIONS Although the number of samples was low and one cannot conclusively establish that the virus started circulating in Lombardy around September 2019, our findings should stimulate similar research investigating the possibility of undetected SARS-CoV-2 pre-pandemic circulation.

Abstract
Background: Four vaccines have been authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA): viral vector-based vaccines (AstraZeneca; AZD1222 and Johnson & Johnson; Ad26.COV2. and 2 mRNA-based vaccines (Pfizer/BioNTech; BNT162b2 and Moderna; mRNA-1273). Adverse events (AEs) related to vaccination have been described in the literature. The main aim of the dermatological practice was to avoid the diffusion of COVID-19, allowing the continuity of care for patients. Objective: The aim of this review article is to investigate current literature regarding cutaneous reactions following COVID-19 vaccination, mainly inflammatory dermatological diseases. Materials and methods: Investigated manuscripts included metanalyses, reviews, letters to the editor, real-life studies, case series, and reports. Results: We selected a total of 234 articles involving more than 550 patients. We have divided the results section into various sub-sections to ensure greater understanding for readers. Conclusions: Clinicians should keep in mind the possibility of new onsets or the worsening of several dermatoses following vaccination in order to promptly recognize and treat these AEs. Certainly, vaccination should not be discouraged.

Abstract
Background COVID-19 pandemic hit the entire world with severe health and economic consequences. Although the infection primarily affected the respiratory system, it was soon recognized that COVID-19 has a multi-systemic component with various manifestations including cutaneous involvement. Objective The main objective of this study is to assess the incidence and patterns of cutaneous manifestations among moderate-to-severe COVID-19 patients who required hospitalization and whether there was a prognostic indication for cutaneous involvement and the outcome in terms of recovery or death. Methods This is a cross-sectional observational study that included inpatients who were diagnosed with a moderate or severe COVID-19 infection. The demographic and clinical data of patients were assessed including age, sex, smoking, and comorbidities. All patients were examined clinically for the presence of skin manifestations. Patients were followed for the outcome of COVID-19 infection. Results A total of 821 patients (356 females and 465 males) aged 4-95 years were included. More than half of patients (54.6%) aged >60 years. A total of 678 patients (82.6%) had at least one comorbid condition, mostly hypertension and diabetes mellitus. Sixty-two patients (7.55%) developed rashes; 5.24% cutaneous and 2.31% oral. The rashes were then grouped into five major types: group A, Exanthema: morbilliform, papulovesicular, varicella-like. Group B, Vascular: Chilblain-like lesions, purpuric/petechial, livedoid lesions. Group C, Reactive erythemas: Urticaria, Erythema multiforme. Group D, other skin rashes including flare-up of pre-existing disease, and O for oral involvement. Most patients (70%) developed rash after admission. The most frequent skin rashes were reactive erythema (23.3%), followed by vascular (20.9%), exanthema (16.3%), and other rashes with flare-ups of pre-existing diseases (39.5%). Smoking and loss of taste were associated with the appearance of various skin rashes. However, no prognostic implications were found between cutaneous manifestations and outcome. Conclusion COVID-19 infection may present with various skin manifestations including worsening of pre-existing skin diseases.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The COVID-19 pandemic period revolutionized daily clinical practice. Several strategies were adopted by clinicians to avoid reducing treatment for diseases without the risk of spreading the infection. Among the adopted strategies, telemedicine played a key role. In this scenario, several tools were used, including e-mails, phone calls, video calls, support groups, and messages. Fortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic period seems to be at an end. However, the use of teledermatology appears to be an excellent strategy for the future as well. Indeed, several patients may benefit from teledermatology. OBJECTIVE In this manuscript, we aim to investigate the use of telemedicine in the dermatological field to point out how this tool may become the mainstay of future medicine. Only the use of teledermatology with common inflammatory skin conditions have been reported herein. MATERIALS AND METHODS Investigated manuscripts included metanalyses, reviews, letters to the editor, real-life studies, case series, and reports. Manuscripts were identified, screened, and extracted for relevant data following the PRISMA (preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses) guidelines. RESULTS A total of 121 records were identified from the analyzed databases. However, only 110 articles were assessed for eligibility. Finally, 92 articles were selected at the end of the literature research for our review. CONCLUSIONS Teledermatology should be considered as a viable option for the dermatologist for the future. We believe that the pandemic has strengthened this service, and this will allow for ever better development in the future. Guidelines regarding the use of teledermatology are required as well as additional improvements for the future.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW Skin rashes seen during COVID-19 usually feature maculopapular or vesicular morphology, thus mimicking cutaneous eruptions occurring in other common infectious dermatoses, such as mononucleosis, chickenpox, sixth disease and measles, with possible diagnostic mistakes. In this review article, we sought to provide a practical overview about clinical appearance of skin rashes related to SARS-CoV-2 infection. RECENT FINDINGS The study summarizes literature evidence on clinical patterns of COVID-19-associated maculopapular or vesicular rash, with a particular emphasis on the principal points of differentiation with possible mimickers. SUMMARY Several differences do exist between rashes due to SARS-CoV-2 infection and other viral eruptions, mainly including lesions morphology, spreading pattern, symptoms and mucosal involvement. The increase of awareness of such features among clinicians may help promptly recognize COVID-19-related exanthemas in order to take proper action to manage the infection.

Abstract
The coronavirus disease has several manifestations related to the activation of the immune system. Because of such activation, autoimmune diseases, including vasculitis, have been reported to occur. Behçet's disease, a variable vessel vasculitis, has been discussed in the context of coronavirus disease. Rarely, the induction of Behçet's disease flare or exacerbation has been reported necessitating aggressive treatment. The presentation of Behçet's disease flares secondary to coronavirus disease is variable, including mucocutaneous lesions and eye or joint involvement. We highlight the case of a 35-year-old woman with pre-existing Behçet's disease in remission on colchicine presenting with new onset erythema nodosum-like lesions on her right shin being diagnosed with coronavirus disease infection a few days after. Despite treatment with systemic corticosteroid, the lesions did not resolve, necessitating the initiation of anti-interleukin-6 therapy.
