Abstract
A three-week-old baby presented with an infantile hemangioma in segmental beard distribution and evidence of PHACES syndrome (posterior fossa abnormalities, hemangiomas, arterial anomalies, cardiac abnormalities, eye anomalies, and sternal defects). Due to the progressive and symptomatic growth of infantile hemangioma, this patient required a multimodal treatment approach, including beta-blocker therapy, intralesional steroid injections, periorbital surgical debulking, airway interventions, and embolization. This report highlights a successful case of a complex PHACES patient that illustrates the significance of phased multidisciplinary care and emphasizes the importance of compliance. A literature review is included to highlight previously reported successful cases using alternative treatments to propranolol monotherapy. This case offers a unique insight into the timeline and outcomes of a PHACES patient with extensive disease requiring a multimodal approach and highlights possible disease presentation in the non-compliant or resistant patient.

Abstract
This case study reports a 6-week-old female with PHACE syndrome and a vestibular schwannoma, an exceedingly rare combination not previously documented in medical literature. PHACE syndrome, characterized by posterior fossa malformations, large facial hemangiomas, and arterial anomalies, manifested in the patient with an enlarging facial hemangioma obstructing her left eye. Imaging studies revealed left cerebellar hypoplasia, absent right vertebral artery, absent left A1 portion of the anterior cerebral artery, and a suspected acoustic neuroma in the left cerebellopontine angle. Additionally, a possible thyroid hemangioma and a small hepatic hemangioma were observed. The presence of a vestibular neuroma in PHACE syndrome, typically associated with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 or sporadic cases, poses a unique challenge. This unusual presentation raises critical considerations for differential diagnosis, given that vestibular schwannomas are not a known feature of PHACE syndrome. The coexistence of vascular anomalies and a vestibular schwannoma complicates imaging interpretation and may influence diagnostics and treatment choices. This case underscores the complexity and rarity of such presentations, highlighting the need for further research to understand the etiology and treatment of vestibular schwannomas in PHACE syndrome patients, given the absence of prior documented cases of this combination.

Abstract
PHACE syndrome is a challenging but important prenatal diagnosis due to its protean clinical consequences. The 'tilted telephone receiver' sign (TTRS), consisting of asymmetric cerebellar volume reduction and marked counterclockwise, Dandy-Walker-like upward vermis rotation on prenatal MRI and ultrasound has high specificity for PHACE. Recently, a case report of the prenatal imaging findings in an infant with PHACE described more mild upward vermis rotation and cerebellar clefting. It recommended consideration of expansion of the currently accepted phenotype to improve prenatal detection of the condition. We describe a case with imaging features essentially indistinguishable from the recently published case of PHACE with mild upward vermis rotation, asymmetric cerebellar hemispheric volume loss and a cerebellar hemispheric cleft. Our patient did not have PHACE postnatally at 1 year of follow up. Neurodevelopmental testing in infancy demonstrated mildly atypical development. Fetuses with asymmetric cerebellar hemispheric volume loss, a cleft in the smaller hemisphere and only mild upward vermis rotation, consistent with the proposed 'expanded PHACE phenotype' do not always have PHACE. Erroneously adverse prenatal prognostic counselling may result from such prenatal phenotypic expansion.

Abstract
Infantile haemangiomas are a common presentation in infants within the first few months of life. The majority of haemangiomas are benign; however, large haemangiomas (≥5 cm), especially those involving the face, may indicate a more serious underlying neurocutaneous disorder known as PHACE (Posterior fossa malformations, Haemangioma, Arterial anomalies, Coarctation of the aorta/Cardiac defects and Eye abnormalities) syndrome. The authors report an unusual case of possible PHACE syndrome in a young male toddler with a large facial haemangioma. Diagnosing and managing PHACE syndrome is a complex task, as it requires a multidisciplinary approach, awareness of the clinical presentation and access to standardised guidelines to approach large facial haemangiomas. We will discuss the clinical assessment and diagnostic approach to PHACE syndrome in a metropolitan paediatric outpatient setting in Western Australia.

Abstract
Infantile hemangioma (IH) is the most common pediatric benign vascular tumor. Its pathogenesis is still poorly understood, and it usually appears during the first few weeks of life and follows a characteristic natural course of proliferation and involution. Most IHs are small, benign, resolve spontaneously, and do not require active treatment but only active observation. A minority of IHs are potentially problematic because they can cause life-threatening complications, permanent disfigurement, and functional impairment. Diagnosis is usually clinical, and propranolol is currently the mainstay of treatment. Other therapeutic modalities may be used alone or in combination, depending on the characteristics of the specific IH. New treatment options are being explored every day, and some are showing promising results. It is undeniable that therapeutic modalities for IHs must be selected based on the child's age, the size and location of the lesion, the presence of complications, the implementation conditions, and the possible outcomes of the treatment. The future of IH management will certainly be reflected in improved advanced imaging modalities, research into the genetic and molecular basis, the development of new pharmacological agents or techniques, and the development of standardized protocols, all to optimize outcomes with minimal side effects.

Abstract
PHACE syndrome is a neurocutaneous disorder consisting of posterior fossa brain abnormalities, facial infantile hemangioma, arterial anomalies, cardiac anomalies (most commonly coarctation of the aorta), and eye anomalies. While the cutaneous finding of infantile hemangioma represents the most clinically apparent feature, extracutaneous findings-specifically, developmental abnormalities of the aorta and medium-sized thoracic, cervical, and cerebral arteries-are common and pose significant potential morbidity and mortality. Cerebral arteriopathy can be progressive and lead to arterial ischemic stroke in childhood and increased stroke risk in adulthood; headache and neurodevelopmental symptoms are also common. Thus, it is important for pediatric neurologists to be familiar with this disorder and its potential structural and functional neurological sequelae. This review article summarizes the clinical features, diagnostic considerations, epidemiology, and management of this condition with an emphasis on features most pertinent to the practicing pediatric neurologist.

Abstract
A girl in middle childhood presented with glaucoma in her right eye along with segmental haemangiomas on the right side of the face and neck. Magnetic resonance angiography of the brain showed hypoplasia of the right internal carotid artery, leading to the diagnosis of posterior fossa malformations, haemangioma, arterial anomalies, cardiac defects and eye abnormalities (PHACE) syndrome. High-definition anterior segment ocular coherence tomography (AS-OCT) of the right eye showed an absence of Schlemm's canal and a hyperreflective membrane over the trabecular meshwork. The presence of this angle dysgenesis on AS-OCT, a novel finding in this disease, explained the elevated intraocular pressure in the right eye. The embryological basis for the development of angle dysgenesis might help better understand the pathogenesis of PHACE syndrome.

Abstract
Congenital cervicofacial vascular anomalies are extremely rare and present many difficulties in diagnosis and treatment requiring a multidisciplinary approach. Firstly, there is little consensus on this subject among head and neck specialists. There are two main types of vascular anomalies: vascular tumors and vascular malformations. Vascular malformations are also divided into malformations with slow blood flow (veins, lymphatics, capillaries or combined) and malformations with a fast blood flow (arteriovenous malformations and fistula). Vascular tumors like hemangiomas are known for their spontaneous involution with aging, while vascular malformations grow in dimensions with age. It is very important to choose the correct differential diagnosis between cervicofacial hemangiomas and vascular malformations for proper therapy management. Anamnesis and clinical exams help in raising suspicions about the real nature of a cervico-vascular anomaly. Furthermore, imaging brings in-depth details of the anomaly, ranging from ultrasound and contrast CT to MRI scanning and minimally invasive angiography. Angiography with selective embolization is rarely a curative procedure for arteriovenous malformations, being more suitable as a preliminary step before attempted surgical removal. Surgery is clearly necessary when there are aesthetic and functional deficits. Slow-flow vascular malformations present a reduced morbidity, and in cases without involution, the surgical ablation is reserved for the cases with aesthetic dysfunctions or psychological trauma. Lymphatic malformations must undergo surgical ablation when they are associated with mass effects and compression of great vessels or aerial viscera. The prognosis after surgical removal is good, with a low rate of recurrence or morbidity. Fast-flow vascular malformations require a combined approach, with embolization and excision in the next 48 h for safety reasons. Removal may be followed by reconstructive surgery depending on the location and dimensions of the malformation, with a possible secondary recovery of the normal microscopic vessels. Some of the masses may hinder the normal airflow and swallowing. Pathology is the gold standard for confirming the clinical and imaging diagnosis.

Abstract
Introduction and importance PHACE syndrome is a rare neurocutaneous disorder characterized by large segmental hemangiomas on the face and is associated with multiple developmental defects. PHACE stands for posterior fossa malformations, hemangiomas, arterial abnormalities, cardiac defects, and eye anomalies, with the most common manifestation being hemangioma in the cervico-facial region in early childhood. Case presentation The authors report a case of a 15-year-female with complaints of facial hemangioma which on multisystemic imaging showed features of central nervous system (CNS) anomalies that led to the diagnosis of PHACE syndrome. The patient was started on propanolol which decreased the size of hemangioma in follow-up visits. Clinical discussion The hemangioma in the frontotemporal and frontonasal area of the face are associated more with CNS and cardiovascular anomalies needing a detailed multisystem approach. CNS anomalies include posterior cerebral fossa enlargement, cystic dilation of the fourth ventricle, arachnoid cyst, and cerebellar hypoplasia which were present in our case. Propanolol is considered the first-line drug for facial hemangioma with reported evidence of remarkable improvement and good tolerance. However, regular follow-up of the patient is needed to rule out any recurrence. Conclusion PHACE syndrome, although being a rare occurrence, must be kept as a differential diagnosis in infants and children with facial hemangioma. Imaging modalities like MRI/magnetic resonance arteriography must be used to rule out possible associations related to PHACE syndrome and focus on early treatment to prevent possible complications.

Abstract
PHACE (posterior fossa malformations, hemangioma, arterial anomalies, coarctation of the aorta/cardiac defects, and eye abnormalities) syndrome is an extremely uncommon condition that requires a team of physicians to properly diagnose, treat, and follow. Patients are at risk of posterior fossa malformations, hemangiomas, and arterial, cardiac, eye, and sternal cleft abnormalities. These syndrome hallmarks can cause severe functional and developmental issues or, in the worst case, death. The pediatrician's role is even more essential for pediatric patients who present with rare and intricate syndromes. Primary care physicians are the first line of defense for patients. They recognize alarm signs, coordinate patient care, and promote participation. This case report aims to describe the process by which a multisystemic and potentially lethal syndrome was excluded and illustrates the significance of a primary care physician for the diagnosis and management of such conditions.

According to the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA) classification, vascular anomalies include a diverse range of pathologies, classified as either vascular tumors or vascular malformations. This classification, last revised in 2018, aims to explain the biological basis of vascular lesions and help clinicians to manage the anomalies. In vascular tumors, there are proliferative changes of endothelial cells, while vascular malformations primarily consist of structural vascular abnormalities. Infantile hemangioma is the most common soft-tissue vascular tumor. Vascular malformations are an extensive group of malformations of the arterial, venous, and lymphatic systems, either in isolation or in combination. Radiological evaluation plays a key part in the management of pediatric patients with these entities. The understanding of sonography and magnetic resonance imaging findings entails its correlation with clinical findings at the time of scanning.

Abstract
Oral propranolol is commonly used as a first-line treatment for infantile hemangioma. However, its use in PHACE (posterior fossa anomalies, hemangioma, arterial anomalies, cardiac anomalies, and eye anomalies) syndrome raises concerns that it might exacerbate the patient's risk of stroke. Here, we report the case of a four-month-old premature girl with PHACE syndrome, who presented with a large hemangioma involving the left side of her face, following the V1+V2+V3 distribution, including the upper lip, left ear, and left eye. This condition was successfully treated with propranolol, and no adverse side effects were reported.

Abstract
Milia are common in children. They are small, keratinizing cysts that arise either as primary epidermoid cysts or secondary to other dermatoses, trauma or certain medications. In the paediatric population, milia are most frequently congenital and resolve spontaneously. Infantile hemangiomas are relatively common in neonates. They typically arise within the first few weeks of life, undergo a proliferative phase in the first 6 months, then begin to involute at around 12 months of age. After involution, residual skin changes may be observed, such as telangiectasia, fibrofatty tissue and redundant skin. However, there is a gap in the literature regarding concomitant milia and infantile hemangiomas. We report a case of a 5-months-old female who presented with a large, segmental infantile hemangioma of the posterior neck with milia.

Abstract
Infantile hemangiomas (IHs) are benign vascular tumors commonly observed in children. A small number of cases can manifest as organ or system dysfunction, permanent scarring, or even disfigurement. Currently, diagnosis is mainly based on clinical history, physical examination, and auxiliary inspection. In the treatment of a hemangioma, the functional damage caused by the lesion and complications that may endanger the patient’s life should be given priority. This suggests that identification, diagnosis, and referral to specialists during the early stages of IHs are important factors in preventing related complications and obtaining a better prognosis. During the past few decades, researchers have explored different treatments according to the condition, including oral or topical drugs, topical drug injections, laser surgery, and surgical treatment. However, oral propranolol remains a well-accepted first-line treatment. This article will primarily focus on the recent advances in the clinical diagnosis and treatment of hemangiomas, along with a literature review on the subject.

Abstract
Segmental infantile hemangiomas affecting the upper body are associated with PHACE(S) (Posterior fossa anomalies, Hemangioma, Arterial anomalies, Cardiac anomalies, Eye anomalies, and Sternal defects) syndrome, whereas segmental infantile hemangiomas affecting the lower body are the cutaneous hallmark of LUMBAR (Lower body hemangioma and other skin defects, Urogenital anomalies and Ulceration, Myelopathy, Bony deformities, Anorectal malformations and Arterial anomalies, and Renal anomalies) syndrome. We present two individuals with concurrent features of both PHACE and LUMBAR syndromes demonstrating an overlap phenotype. The overlapping features seen in our patients suggest that these syndromes occur on the same phenotypic spectrum and derive from a common embryonic pathophysiology.

Abstract
PHACE syndrome is a congenital disorder often associated with a cervicofacial infantile hemangioma and complicated cardiovascular malformations. Patients with PHACE syndrome often have complex aortic arch anomalies, longer aortic stenosis or agenesis segments, and increased vascular tortuosity; therefore, perioperative management and surgical repair are challenging. We report a case of a female infant with PHACE syndrome and complex cardiovascular anomalies such as a double aortic arch associated with interruption of the left aortic arch, coarctation of the right aortic arch, patent ductus arteriosus, ventricular septal defect, and atrial septal defect. She was born at 36 weeks of gestation (birth weight, 2,150 g) and the diagnosis was confirmed by three-dimensional computed tomography. Because her patent ductus arteriosus did not close at first, her heart failure was managed preoperatively without prostaglandin E1. We initially attempted to promote weight gain. Surgical planning and simulation were performed using the patient-specific three-dimensional cardiovascular model created from computed tomography data. She underwent a successful aortic arch reconstruction by an end-to-side anastomosis with anterior patch augmentation at the age of 56 days. Detailed planning and simulation before surgery were vital in achieving favorable outcomes. Careful management and surgical planning using a patient-specific three-dimensional model are vital, especially in patients with complex malformations, such as in our case.

Abstract
Background: Cutaneous manifestations of systemic diseases are diverse and sometimes precede more serious diseases and symptomatology. Similarly, radiologic imaging plays a key role in early diagnosis and determination of the extent of systemic involvement. Simultaneous awareness of skin and imaging manifestations can help the radiologist to narrow down differential diagnosis even if imaging findings are nonspecific. Aims: To improve diagnostic accuracy and patient care, it is important that clinicians and radiologists be familiar with both cutaneous and radiologic features of various systemic disorders. This article reviews cutaneous manifestations and imaging findings of commonly encountered systemic diseases. Conclusions: Familiarity with the most disease-specific skin lesions help the radiologist pinpoint a specific diagnosis and consequently, in preventing unnecessary invasive workups and contributing to improved patient care.

Abstract
The European Reference Network on Rare Multisystemic Vascular Diseases (VASCERN), is dedicated to gathering the best expertise in Europe and provide accessible cross-border healthcare to patients with rare vascular diseases. Infantile Hemangiomas (IH) are benign vascular tumors of infancy that rapidly growth in the first weeks of life, followed by stabilization and spontaneous regression. In rare cases the extent, the localization or the number of lesions may cause severe complications that need specific and careful management. Severe IH may be life-threatening due to airway obstruction, liver or cardiac failure or may harbor a risk of functional impairment, severe pain, and/or significant and permanent disfigurement. Rare IHs include syndromic variants associated with extracutaneous abnormalities (PHACE and LUMBAR syndromes), and large segmental hemangiomas. There are publications that focus on evidence-based medicine on propranolol treatment for IH and consensus statements on the management of rare infantile hemangiomas mostly focused on PHACES syndrome. The Vascular Anomalies Working Group (VASCA-WG) decided to develop a diagnostic and management pathway for severe and rare IHs with a Nominal Group Technique (NGT), a well-established, structured, multistep, facilitated group meeting technique used to generate consensus statements. The pathway was drawn following two face-to-face meetings and in multiple web meetings to facilitate discussion, and by mail to avoid the influence of most authoritative members. The VASCA-WG has produced this opinion statement reflecting strategies developed by experts and patient representatives on how to approach patients with severe and rare IH in a practical manner; we present an algorithmic view of the results of our work.

Abstract
A wide spectrum of disorders involves the parotid glands, in infancy and childhood. Acute or chronic inflammatory/infectious diseases are predominant. The first branchial cleft anomalies are congenital lesions that typically manifest during childhood. Tumor lesions are more likely to be benign, with infantile hemangioma the most common in infancy and pleomorphic adenoma the most frequent in childhood. Malignant tumors are uncommon, with mucoepidermoid carcinoma the least rare. Infiltrative parotid diseases are rare and have some pediatric clinical specificities. These common and uncommon disorders of parotid glands during childhood and their imaging characteristics are reviewed.

Background
PHACE syndrome is a congenital disorder in infants characterized by the presence of large hemangiomas in the cervicofacial region along with congenital anomalies of the cardiovascular system, brain, and eyes. PHACE syndrome is an extremely rare condition, and PHACE syndrome with parotid hemangiomas has never been reported in the medical literature.
Case presentation
A 3-month-old female infant presented with cervicofacial plaques that later involved the left eyelids. The plaques blanched on application of pressure and were diagnosed to be hemangiomas. MRI and MRA studies of the brain showed extensive vascular malformations, agenesis of the left internal carotid artery, and hemangiomas in the parotid glands. A biopsy of the parotid glands confirmed the parotid hemangiomas. Bilateral cataracts and subclavian artery with an aberrant origin were also found. On the basis of the hemangiomas and the arterial, cardiovascular, and ocular abnormalities, PHACE syndrome was diagnosed. A multi-disciplinary treatment approach was begun, but the infant died 20 days after presentation to the hospital.
Conclusions
PHACE syndrome is an extremely rare condition that has only been described three hundred times in medical literature. It is usually associated with extensive structural, arterial, ocular, and cutaneous anomalies. However, PHACE syndrome with parotid hemangiomas has never been reported in the medical literature. Hemangiomas are the main diagnostic feature and the most common lesion of this disease. This strong association between PHACE syndrome and hemangiomas suggests the parotid hemangiomas seen in our case to be a new addition to the broad spectrum of anomalies associated with PHACE syndrome.

Abstract
PHACE(S) syndrome combines: posterior fossa brain malformations, face hemangioma, arterial cerebrovascular abnormalities, cardiovascular abnormalities, eye abnormalities, and ventral developmental defects (Sternal defects or supra-umbilical rope). The diagnosis is based on the association of an infant hemangioma exceeding 5cm in size on the face, neck, scalp with 1 major criteria or 2 minor criteria. Imaging, especially Gadolinium MRI and MRA of the brain, neck, and aortic arch, transthoracic echocardiography, or even cardiac MRI play a key role in the detection of associated neurological and cardiovascular abnormalities. We report 2 cases of PHACE syndrome revealed by 2 different clinical presentations.

Abstract
Background Infantile hemangioma (IH) is the most common benign tumor in children. However, few studies have reported the clinical features of segmental IH. We aimed to determine the clinical characteristics of segmental IH and to identify features that may aid clinicians in managing segmental IH. Methods In the cross-sectional prospective study approved by the Ethics Committee of the hospital, children diagnosed with IH were recruited, and information including patient demographics, IH morphology and anatomical location, complications and treatments were recorded and analyzed. Results In total, 153 patients with segmental IH and 1375 patients with nonsegmental IH were enrolled in this study. The average age on the day of the first visit in patients with segmental IH was 3.63±3.23 months. In 69 patients (45.10%), segmental IH was diagnosed at birth. Most segmental IHs (49.67%) occurred in the limbs, while only 22.04% of nonsegmental IHs occurred in the extremities (P<0.001). Thirteen patients (8.50%) with segmental IH had ulceration. Compared with patients with nonsegmental IHs, patients with segmental IHs were more likely to be treated with oral drugs (P<0.001). Conclusion Segmental IHs mainly occur in the extremities and are frequently diagnosed at birth. Segmental IHs are usually accompanied by ulceration, which are more commonly seen in the neck and perineal/perianal/genital areas than nonsegmental IHs. Oral propranolol is prescribed more often in patients with segmental IH than in those with nonsegmental IH.

Abstract
PHACE syndrome is a rare disorder of vasculogenesis that occurs during the first trimester of pregnancy. The disorder commonly presents with posterior fossa brain anomalies and coarctation of aorta/arterial anomalies and is predominantly seen in female patients. Herein, we report a male child with PHACE syndrome who had several less common features such as cortical dysplasia, retinal degeneration, and microphthalmia. The diagnosis of PHACE syndrome was confirmed based on revised diagnostic criteria and by the presence of one major criterion and two minor criteria in addition to >5 cm haemangioma. Further, the reported child had atrial septal defect as the only cardiac abnormality, and this has been rarely described in patients with PHACE syndrome.

Abstract
Vascular birthmarks are common in neonates (prevalence: 20-30%) and mostly incidental findings sometimes with spontaneous regression (salmon patch and nevus simplex). Capillary malformations are found in about 1% and infantile hemangiomas are found in 4% of mature newborns. Vascular malformations are classified according to their most prominent vessel type. The term "capillary malformation" (port wine stain) includes a wide range of vascular lesions with different characteristics; they may be isolated or part of specific syndromic conditions. Part of the infantile hemangiomas and of the vascular malformations may require treatment for functional or cosmetic reasons, and in rare cases, investigations are also necessary as they represent a clue for the diagnosis of complex vascular malformation or tumors associated with extracutaneous abnormalities. Complex vascular malformations are mostly mosaicism due to early somatic mutations. Genetic advances have led to identify the main pathogenic pathways involved in this disease group. Diffuse capillary malformation with overgrowth, Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, CLAPO syndrome, CLOVES syndrome, and megalencephaly-capillary malformation belong to the PIK3CA-related overgrowth. Capillary malformation-arteriovenous malformation underlies a fast-flow vascular malformation, sometimes manifesting as Parkes-Weber syndrome. Recognition of these different types of capillary vascular stains is sometimes difficult; however, associated findings may orient the clinicians while genetic testing may confirm the diagnosis. Lymphatic malformation frequently manifests as large masses that compress and/or infiltrate the surrounding tissues, representing a neonatal emergency when airways are involved. Infantile hemangiomas may cause functional and/or permanent esthetical damage, depending on their localization (such as periorbital area, lip, nose); large (more than 5 cm) infantile hemangiomas with a segmental distribution can be associated with obstruction or malformations of the underneath organs with complications: PHACE syndrome, LUMBAR/SACRAL syndrome, and beard infantile hemangioma. In our review, we discuss controversies regarding the international classification and emerging concepts in the field of vascular anomalies. Finally, we discuss potential developments of new, non-invasive diagnostic techniques and repurposing of target therapies from oncology. Complex and/or life-threatening vascular tumors and malformations are extremely rare events and they represent a considerable therapeutic challenge. Early recognition of clinical signs suggestive for a specific disease may improve therapeutic outcomes and avoid severe complications.

Abstract
AIM Infantile haemangioma (IH) is the most common benign tumour in children. Since 2014, propranolol has become the first-choice therapy and currently Hemangiol is the only approved drug for complicated haemangioma. This post-marketing study reports the use of Hemangiol for IH in paediatric practice. METHOD AND RESULTS From January 2014 to November 2018, 94 children (median age 4 [0; 21] months; 75% female) treated with Hemangiol for proliferative IH were enrolled in the study. The systematic paediatric cardiology consultation never contraindicated beta-blockers. Two Hemangiol initiation protocols were used: a conventional ambulatory 3-week titration phase protocol (n = 76, 80.9%), and a rapid initiation protocol with a 48-hour dose escalation in conventional hospitalization for severe proliferative or ulcerated IH (n = 18, 19.1%). In both protocols, the haemodynamic tolerance was good. The mean maintenance dose of Hemangiol was 2.7 ± 0.8 mg/kg/day, with a median treatment duration of 7 [1.5; 19] months. Adverse events (AEs) have been found in 25 (26,6%) patients, including 8 (8.5%) patients with serious AEs (uncontrolled bronchial hyperreactivity, n = 5; serious hypoglycaemia, n = 3). Some patients had one or more AEs, a total of 24 nonserious AEs was reported in 19 patients (sleep disturbances, n = 9; respiratory disorders, n = 5; digestive disorders, n = 6). No cardiac adverse event was reported. CONCLUSION This post-marketing surveillance drug study supports the good tolerance of Hemangiol in children with IH. A rapid initiation protocol is of interest when treatment is urgent. The pretherapeutic paediatric cardiology consultation should not be systematic but only indicated for specific patients. Abstract
BACKGROUND To review and update the syndromic and non-syndromic systemic associations of congenital lacrimal drainage anomalies. METHODS The authors performed a PubMed search of all articles published in English on congenital lacrimal drainage anomalies (CLDA). The current review provides an update from January 2017 to August 2020 on all CLDA associated with clinical syndromes or non-syndromic systemic disorders. The update intends to appraise the readers on all papers that were published in the interim 3-year period since the publication of the previous major review by authors (1933-2016). Patients with specific syndromes or systemic disorders were then reviewed. Pertinent cross-references from each of the short-listed articles were also included. Data reviewed include syndromic descriptions, systemic details, demographics, lacrimal presentations, management, and outcomes. RESULTS There have been significant new updates. Eleven new syndromes have been added to the list of syndromic associations, of which three were suspects. Among the new syndromic associations, three (PHACE, Williams-Beuren, and Peter's plus syndromes) described CLDA details in depth. Several new non-syndromic systemic conditions with associated CLDA also came to light, the foremost amongst them being proboscis lateralis, diprosopus dirrhinus, cerebral palsy, and NGLY-1 related disorders. Although familial presentations have been reported, the inheritance patterns are unclear for most anomalies. Surgical challenges in these patients are distinct, and a thorough pre-operative assessment, including detailed imaging when indicated, may facilitate good outcomes. Two updated tables reflecting the summary of syndromic and non-syndromic systemic associations are provided to capture the details at a glance. CONCLUSION It is not very uncommon to find CLDA in syndromic or non-syndromic systemic disorders. Diagnosis of a craniofacial syndrome should prompt the physician to look out for CLDA. Similarly, a diagnosis of multiple CLDA should alert the examiner for the possible presence of associated systemic anomalies.

Abstract
PHACE syndrome is an acronym that describes a neurocutaneous condition, consisting of posterior fossa malformations that coexist with large facial hemangiomas, eye anomalies, and cardiac/aortic defects. The prognosis of the disease has not been clearly identified. There appears to be a risk of stroke in children with arterial anomalies. Radiological examinations play a considerable role in determining the degree of intracranial, cardiac involvement and the probable complications. In this article, we reported a 4-month-old boy with PHACE syndrome that has been diagnosed through a large segmental infantile hemangioma involving the eye and over the left half of the face in brain magnetic resonance imaging and magnetic resonance angiography findings. One month after starting propranolol therapy, there was a noticeable reduction in the size of the lesions. Almost complete resolution of the hemangioma was seen after a 6 months of propranolol therapy.

Abstract
The choriocapillaris is an exceptionally high density, two-dimensional, sheet-like capillary network, characterized by the highest exchange rate of nutrients for waste products per area in the organism. These unique morphological and physiological features are critical for supporting the extreme metabolic requirements of the outer retina needed for vision. The developmental mechanisms and processes responsible for generating this unique vascular network remain, however, poorly understood. Here we take advantage of the zebrafish as a model organism for gaining novel insights into the cellular dynamics and molecular signaling mechanisms involved in the development of the choriocapillaris. We show for the first time that zebrafish have a choriocapillaris highly similar to that in mammals, and that it is initially formed by a novel process of synchronized vasculogenesis occurring simultaneously across the entire outer retina. This initial vascular network expands by un-inhibited sprouting angiogenesis whereby all endothelial cells adopt tip-cell characteristics, a process which is sustained throughout embryonic and early post-natal development, even after the choriocapillaris becomes perfused. Ubiquitous sprouting was maintained by continuous VEGF-VEGFR2 signaling in endothelial cells delaying maturation until immediately before stages where vision becomes important for survival, leading to the unparalleled high density and lobular structure of this vasculature. Sprouting was throughout development limited to two dimensions by Bruch's membrane and the sclera at the anterior and posterior surfaces respectively. These novel cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying choriocapillaris development were recapitulated in mice. In conclusion, our findings reveal novel mechanisms underlying the development of the choriocapillaris during zebrafish and mouse development. These results may explain the uniquely high density and sheet-like organization of this vasculature.

Abstract
Moyamoya angiopathy is a rare vasculopathy with stenosis and/or occlusion of bilateral intracranial parts of internal carotid arteries and/or proximal parts of middle and anterior cerebral arteries. PHACE syndrome is characterized by large segmental hemangiomas in the cervical-facial region. Both conditions are known to be associated in rare cases. Recently, it was discussed in the literature that RNF213 variants could be etiologically involved in this association. Here, we describe a childhood case with this rare co-occurrence in which we did not identify any rare RNF213 variant. The clinical and genetic backgrounds are discussed.

Abstract
Infantile hemangiomas, otherwise known as infantile capillary hemangiomas, strawberry hemangiomas, or strawberry nevi, are nonmalignant vascular tumors that commonly affect children. The natural disease course typically involves growth for up to a year, followed by regression without treatment over a period of years with no cosmetic or functional sequelae. Less commonly, however, infantile hemangiomas can become a threat to vision or even life depending on location and size of the lesion. In addition, infantile hemangiomas, particularly those involving the face, may be disfiguring and result in lifelong sequelae. β-blockers have become a mainstay of therapy given their relatively low-risk profile and efficacy. Other treatment modalities previously described in the literature include corticosteroids (both intralesional and systemic), imiquimod, vincristine, bleomycin A5, and interferon α. More recently, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors such as captopril have been used. Laser therapy and, less commonly, surgical excision are also available treatment options. We review current recommended management and treatment of capillary hemangiomas and discuss the benefits and risks of all previously reported treatment modalities.
