Abstract
OBJECTIVE Many studies have reported high rates of anxiety in adults with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The aim of this systematic review was to examine those findings and determine the overall prevalence, severity, and commonly used measures of anxiety in individuals with RA. METHODS Six databases were searched from January 2000 without restrictions on language/location, study design, or gray literature. All identified studies that examined anxiety prevalence and severity in adults with RA, as assessed with clinical diagnostic interview and/or standardized self-report measures, were considered for inclusion. Quality assessment of included studies was conducted using a modified Newcastle-Ottawa Evaluation Scale, and the findings were synthesized via a narrative approach. RESULTS Across the 47 studies (n = 11,085 participants), the sample size ranged from 60 to 1,321 participants with seven studies including healthy controls or groups with other health conditions. The studies were conducted across 23 countries, and anxiety prevalence ranged from 2.4% to 77%, predominantly determined with standardized self-report measures, of which Hospital Anxiety and Depression scale was used most frequently; only eight studies used a clinical diagnostic interview to confirm a specific anxiety diagnosis. Notable associations with anxiety in RA were physical disability, pain, disease activity, depression, and quality of life. CONCLUSION The reported prevalence of anxiety in RA varied widely potentially because of use of different self-report measures and cutoff points. Such cutoff points will need to be standardized to clinical thresholds to inform appropriate interventions for anxiety comorbidity in RA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The chronic course and recurring acute episodes of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) can significantly affect the psychological and mental health of patients. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of depression in Chinese patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) through a systematic review and meta-analysis. METHODS We conducted a comprehensive literature search on electronic databases from the inception of the database to April 2023. The inclusion criteria included cross-sectional or case-control studies on depression prevalence with a sample size of at least 50 participants. The data was extracted from the included studies and analyzed to calculate the pooled depression prevalence, along with a 95% confidence interval (CI), using Review Manager 5.3 software (Version 5.3. Copenhagen: The Nordic Cochrane Centre, The Cochrane Collaboration, 2014). RESULTS Thirteen studies (n = 29,113) were included, with females accounting for over 50% of all participants. Based on the data pooled from all 13 studies, the observed depression prevalence in Chinese individuals with RA was 37% (95% CI: 28-46%; I2 = 95%; p < 0.0001). A subsequent subgroup analysis was conducted on scale types, age, and gender. Regarding scale types, the depression prevalence was assessed using various scales included the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HAMD), Hamilton Depression Scale (HADS), Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression (CES-D) scale, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder (fourth edition DSM.IV) diagnostic criteria, and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) were 50%, 35%, 58%, 39%, and 41%, respectively. Based on mean age, five studies researched RA individuals <50 years old, establishing a depression prevalence of 48% (95% CI: 32-65%). In contrast, eight studies researched RA individuals ≥50 years old, establishing a depression prevalence of 41% (95% CI: 32-51%). Gender-based analysis indicated a depression prevalence in female RA individuals of 45% (95% CI: 37-55%) and 39% (95% CI: 29-48%) among male RA patients. Depression prevalence established significant correlations with specific scales, including the HAMD scale (odds ratio (OR) 4.93, 95% CI: 1.79-10.2), CES-D scale (OR 2.83, 95% CI: 1.71-4.65), DSM.IV criteria (OR 0.75, 95% CI: 0.38-1.51), and SDS (OR 0.95, 95% CI: 0.32-2.16). Additionally, depression prevalence was associated with age categories (age ≥50: OR 1.25, 95% CI: 0.59-2.70; age <50: OR 1.99, 95% CI: 0.93-3.81), as well as gender (female: OR 1.63, 95% CI: 0.64-4.57; male: OR 1.07, 95% CI: 0.38-3.03), although some associations did not reach statistical significance. CONCLUSION The depression prevalence was high in Chinese individuals with RA, especially in females and patients under 50 years old. These findings suggest the need for improving detection and management of depression in RA patients.

Abstract
Introduction Nurses experience significant physical and psychological stress that negatively influences their psychological well-being. The objective of this study was to explore the association between self-efficacy and psychological well-being among Chinese nurses and to assess the moderating effects of perceived social support (PSS). Methods In 2020, a hospital-based cross-sectional study using a multistage random sampling approach was performed in five regions of Liaoning, China. Of the 1,200 surveyed nurses, 1,010 completed questionnaires that evaluated the demographic information, 14-item Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, General Self-Efficacy Scale, and Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. To examine the factors associated with mental health parameters, hierarchical multiple regression analysis was performed. The interactions were visualized using a simple slope analysis. Results The mean depression and anxiety scores for Chinese nurses were 8.74 ± 3.50 and 6.18 ± 3.26, respectively. The association between self-efficacy and depression differed between the low perceived social support (PSS) group (1 SD below the mean, β = -0.169, p < 0.01) and high PSS group (1 SD above the mean, β = -0.077, p < 0.01). Similarly, the association between self-efficacy and anxiety differed between the low PSS group (1 SD below the mean, β = -0.155, p < 0.01) and high PSS group (1 SD above the mean, β = -0.044, p < 0.01). Conclusion We found that Chinese nurses experienced high levels of anxiety and depression. Furthermore, PSS moderates the relationship between self-efficacy and psychological well-being. Therefore, interventions targeting self-efficacy and PSS should be implemented to improve the psychological well-being of nurses.

Abstract
BACKGROUND For female breast cancer patients, the psychological status after surgery, especially the social and family psychological-related factors, deserves more attention. This study analyzed the influence of social constraints, social support, social isolation, family conflict, and family emotion expression on depression. At the same time, this study conducted the relationship between the variables and the mechanism of action. METHODS We conducted a cross-sectional study and 522 breast cancer patients finished questionnaires consisting of Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES), Multi-Dimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Social Constraints Scale-5 (SCS-5), Family Environment Scale (FES), and Lubben Social Network Scale (LSNS-6). Multivariable logical regression was used to explore influencing factors. Pearson's correlation, hierarchical regression, and simple slope analysis were conducted to verify the role of self-efficacy. RESULTS 71.6% of patients had depressive symptoms. Family contradiction (OR = 10.086), social constraints (OR = 2.522), social isolation (OR = 2.507), and high blood glucose (OR = 2.156) were risk factors of depressive symptoms. Family emotional expression (OR = 0.480), family intimacy (OR = 0.235), and self-efficacy (OR = 0.246) were protective factors against depressive symptoms. The interactive items interpretation quantity were as follows: Contradiction*Self-efficacy (ΔR2 = 2.3%, P < 0.001), Emotional expression*Self-efficacy (ΔR2 = 2.6%, P < 0.001), Intimacy*Self-efficacy (ΔR2 = 1.0%, P = 0.018), Social constraints*Self-efficacy (ΔR2 = 1.0%, P = 0.008), Social networks*Self-efficacy (ΔR2 = 1.0%, P = 0.010), Blood Glucose*Self-efficacy (ΔR2 = 0.6%, P = 0.023). The influence of independent variables on depressive symptoms was gradually decreased in the low, mean, and high groups of self-efficacy. CONCLUSION Postoperative Chinese breast cancer survivors reported higher depressive symptoms. Social, family, and physiological factors could affect depressive symptoms, in which self-factor played moderator roles.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Empirical data suggest that psychosocial factors, such as pain self-efficacy (PSE) and emotional support from a partner, may alleviate the suffering caused by rheumatoid arthritis (RA) pain. However, the data are ambiguous and warrant a more comprehensive investigation into the effect of these factors on the severity of RA pain. The objective of the present study was to assess the significance of PSE and emotional support from a partner in relation to pain severity among women with RA. PARTICIPANTS AND PROCEDURE The study included a sample of 196 women diagnosed with RA with the mean age of 41.54. The study employed the following measures: Rheumatoid Arthritis Pain Scale, Pain Self-efficacy Questionnaire, and Communication Based Emotional Support Scale. RESULTS The analysis revealed that higher PSE emerged as the strongest predictor for lower pain severity across all components of RA pain. However, the impact of the partner's emotional support on pain severity was not as evident and varied depending on the specific pain component. Furthermore, the use of pain medications significantly predicted three out of four pain components. Mediation analysis revealed that perceived emotional support from a partner directly affected women's RA pain intensity, as well as indirectly through the PSE as a mediator. Moderated mediation analysis demonstrated that the association between PSE and pain severity weakened as the duration of RA increased. CONCLUSIONS Enhancing women's PSE and providing appropriate training for their partners to offer effective emotional support may play a crucial role in the treatment of RA.

Abstract
Objective To investigate the mediating effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between social support and health literacy among young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease following PCI. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted on convenience samples of 325 young and middle-aged patients with coronary heart disease who underwent PCI within 1 to 3 months. The data were collected from the outpatient department of a tertiary general hospital in Wenzhou, China, between July 2022 and February 2023. The questionnaire format was utilized to gather data on demographic characteristics, social support, self-efficacy, and health literacy. A structural equation model was employed to establish and validate the pathways. Results The mean age of the patients included in the study was 45.32 years old, while their levels of health literacy, self-efficacy, and social support were 64.12±7.45, 27.71±4.23, and 65.53±6.43 respectively. Significant associations were observed between social support and health literacy in the CHD population, with self-efficacy playing a partial mediating role. Together, social support and self-efficacy accounted for 53.3% of the variance in health literacy. The Pearson correlation analysis revealed a significant positive association between health literacy and both social support (r = 0.390, P < 0.01) and self-efficacy (r = 0.471, P < 0.01). Conclusion Social support exerted a direct impact on health literacy and an indirect effect on health literacy through self-efficacy among patients with CHD.

Impact of alexithymia on suicidal ideation among patients with ovarian cancer: a moderated mediation model of self-perceived burden and general self-efficacy. Support Care Cancer 2023; 31:177. Abstract
PURPOSE Suicidal ideation (SI) and alexithymia are common psychological problems among patients with cancer. Studying how alexithymia predicts SI is helpful for its intervention and prevention strategies. The present study aimed to investigate whether self-perceived burden (SPB) mediates the impact of alexithymia on SI and if general self-efficacy moderates the associations of alexithymia with SPB and SI. METHODS To measure SI, alexithymia, SPB, and general self-efficacy, 200 patients with ovarian cancer at all stages regardless of the type of treatment completed the Chinese version of the Self-Rating Idea of Suicide Scale, Toronto Alexithymia Scale, Self-Perceived Burden Scale, and General Self-Efficacy Scale in a cross-sectional study. The PROCESS macro for SPSS v4.0 procedure was applied to perform moderated mediation analysis. RESULTS SPB significantly mediated the positive impact of alexithymia on SI (a×b = 0.082, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.026, 0.157). General self-efficacy significantly moderated the positive association between alexithymia and SPB (β = -0.227, P < 0.001). The mediating role of SPB was gradually reduced as general self-efficacy grew (low: 0.087, 95% CI: 0.010, 0.190; medium: 0.049, 95% CI: 0.006, 0.108; high: 0.010, 95% CI: -0.014, 0.046). Thus, a moderated mediation model involving SPB and general self-efficacy for explaining how alexithymia causes SI was supported. CONCLUSION Alexithymia could cause SI by inducing SPB among patients with ovarian cancer. General self-efficacy could attenuate the association between alexithymia and SPB. Interventions aimed at reducing SPB and enhancing general self-efficacy could reduce SI by partially preventing and attenuating the impact of alexithymia.

An Interaction Effect of Life-Threatening Experience, Self-Efficacy, and Financial Resources on Quality of Life Among Chinese Middle-Aged and Older Women. AGEING INTERNATIONAL 2023; 48:231-246. Abstract
The current study explores the interaction effect of adversities and self-efficacy at baseline on quality of life (QoL) at follow-up among middle-aged and older Chinese women. 531 women were interviewed in 2008 and 226 of them were re-interviewed a year later using Quality of Life Ladder (QoLL), General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE), List of Threatening Experiences (LTE), Somatic Complaint Scale, and self-rated health. Respondents' mean age at baseline was 55.7 (SD = 4.7, range: 50-78). Over a year's time, respondents had a decline in quality of life and self-rated health (p < .001), experienced more life-threatening events (p < .05) and somatic complaints. The hierarchical multiple regression model, employed in the study, identifies three predictors of future quality of life after adding the interaction term 'Previous LTE × Previous GSE × Previous household income' - previous quality of life (β = .492, p < .001), previous LTE (β = -.292, p < .001), and the interaction term (β = .221, p < .05). This model explains 34.1% of the variance of future quality of life (Adjusted R2 = .341, p < .001). The findings suggests that respondents' good self-appraisal of coping resources could moderate the impact of adversities on their future quality of life. Interventions for promoting positive psychological growth among middle-aged and older adults should cover four domains, i.e. event-related factors, environmental factors, personal factors, and cognitive and coping responses. Traditional Chinese wisdom emphasizes the importance of understanding the bad ('Yin'-the shady side) and the good ('Yang'-the sunny side) aspect of life events. Future research may explore the Yin Yang perspective on life-threatening experiences and its applications in cross-cultural quality of life studies in the era of globalization.

Abstract
Objective There are relatively few studies on multiple chronic conditions (MCC) among older adults in China. This study sought to assess the potential differences in the risk of MCC among different elderly populations, and thus to identify the most vulnerable populations at higher risk of developing the MCC. Methods A sample of 5320 adults aged 60 years or above from the China's Health-Related Quality of Life Survey for Older Adults 2018 (CHRQLS-OA 2018) were included in this study. Descriptive statistics frequencies and proportions were used to summarize the sample characteristics, and logistic regression models were conducted to identify the differences in the risk of having MCC among different populations. Results Overall, 52.6% of respondents had been clearly diagnosed with at least one chronic disease with 25.3% having MCC. The males ((adjusted odds ratio [AOR] = 0.84; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.73-0.98) were less likely to have MCC. This was also true among female elderly with a non-agricultural hukou (AOR = 0.75; 95% CI = 0.57-0.99). The elderly with a non-agricultural hukou aged 60-64 (AOR = 0.55; 95% CI = 0.34-0.88) had a lower risk of having MCC. Those whose average annual household income per capita were 15,000-30,000 RMB (AOR = 1.42; 95% CI = 1.03-1.96) were more likely to suffer from MCC. The odds ratios of having MCC were smaller as the personal savings increases in total samples (all P < 0.05). Conclusions The findings suggest that different policies or approaches should target these specific populations who are most in need and are most likely to suffer from MCC.

Age, Cognitive Factors, and Acceptance of Living with the Disease in Rheumatoid Arthritis: The Short-Term Perspective. Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disease leading to disability, reduced quality of life, and severe depressive symptoms. Theoretical models and research emphasize the importance of cognitive factors such as illness-related beliefs and cognitive appraisals in the process of adapting to life with a chronic disease. OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to analyze the role of age, disease duration, and cognitive factors in the level of acceptance of life with rheumatoid arthritis and determine the factors responsible for short-term (one week) changes without the use of interventions. We also assessed differences in predictors between rheumatoid arthritis, vascular diseases, and diabetes. METHODS Data were collected using a panel study. The first part of the analysis included 83 participants who declared a medical diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. In the second part of the analysis, in addition to people with rheumatoid arthritis (69 participants), two control groups were also included: diabetes (n = 26) and vascular disease (n = 26). The analysis examined basic sociodemographic and clinical data, cognitive appraisals, illness-related beliefs, and acceptance of living with the disease twice in one week. RESULTS The relationship between age and levels of acceptance of living with the disease was cubic, but the groups distinguished based on age and disease duration did not differ in terms of the analyzed variables. Cognitive appraisals (both baseline and changes over one week) were responsible for changes in acceptance of living with the disease, although other variables (sociodemographic, clinical, and illness-related beliefs) also played a role. The predictors of change in acceptance of living with the disease differed between analyzed diagnoses. CONCLUSIONS Cognitive factors are an important aspect of the adaptation process to living with an illness. Potential clinical applications and future directions of research are discussed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES To explore coping processes used by adults aged 60 and above (defined as high age-related risk group) in reaction to the COVID-19 threat, and the associations between these processes and state anxiety. DESIGN AND METHODS A cross-sectional study with 498 respondents of an online survey, 72 (15%) in the high age-related risk group. Questionnaires measured: background variables, state anxiety, and COVID-19 related perceptions. RESULTS The high age-related risk group perceived the coronavirus as more severe, their belongingness to a risk group as higher, and the behavioral recommendations as more effective compared to the low age-related risk group. The part of perceived vulnerability that is not explained by belonging to an age-related risk group (defined as residual perceived vulnerability) was lower in the high age-related risk group. Mediation analysis indicated that the high (compared to the low) age-related risk group had lower anxiety levels, and that this effect was mediated by lower residual perceived vulnerability and higher perceived disease severity levels. CONCLUSIONS The higher age-related risk group maintains a relatively moderate level of anxiety without denying their belonging to a high risk group. This can be explained by defensive processing of COVID-19 related information and by developmental processes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES According to the social cognitive theory, social support and self-efficacy may interact with each other i.e. compete or account jointly for better adaptation. This study examined the nature of the interaction between coping self-efficacy and received social support in daily lives of patient-caregiver dyads after cancer treatment. We tested whether the effect of daily fluctuations in coping self-efficacy and received support on daily affect was synergistic (positive jointed effect), compensatory (positive competing effect), or interference (negative competing effect). DESIGN A dyadic daily-diary study conducted for 28 days after hospital discharge following hematopoietic cell transplantation. METHODS Coping self-efficacy, received support, and positive and negative affect were measured in 200 patient-caregiver dyads. The analysis was based on the actor-partner interdependence moderation model using multilevel structural equation modeling. RESULTS Statistically significant effect of interaction between daily coping self-efficacy and received support on negative affect was found, although only in the caregivers. In that group, higher daily received support compensated for lower daily coping self-efficacy but had a negative effect when coping self-efficacy was significantly higher than typical. Also, direct beneficial effects of higher daily coping self-efficacy and received support on caregiver positive affect were found. In the patients, higher daily coping self-efficacy was directly associated with better daily affect. CONCLUSIONS Diverse effects of daily coping self-efficacy and received social support were found-the interference effect in the caregivers and the main effect of coping self-efficacy in the patients. Higher daily coping self-efficacy and optimal received social support may provide resilience against affect disturbance after cancer treatment.

Abstract
Introduction The importance of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) for rheumatoid arthritis (RA) clinical studies has been recognised for many years. The current study aims to describe the RA PROMs used over the past 20 years, and their performance metrics, to underpin appropriate tool selection. Methods The study included a systematic search for PROMs that have been in use over the period 2000–2019, with detailed documentation of their psychometric properties, and a user-friendly presentation of the extensive evidence base. Results 125 PROMs were identified with psychometric evidence available. The domains of pain, fatigue, emotional functions, mobility, physical functioning and work dominated, with self-efficacy and coping as personal factors. Domains such as stiffness and sleep were poorly served. The most frequently used PROMs included the Health Assessment Questionnaire Disability Index (HAQ), the Short Form 36 (SF-36), the EuroQoL and the Modified HAQ which, between them, appeared in more than 3500 papers. Strong psychometric evidence was found for the HAQ, and the SF-36 Physical Functioning and Vitality (fatigue) domains. Otherwise, all domains except stiffness, sleep, education and health utility, had at least one PROM with moderate level of psychometric evidence. Conclusion There is a broad range of PROMs for measuring RA outcomes, but the quality of psychometric evidence varies widely. This work identifies gaps in key RA domains according to the biopsychosocial model.

Abstract
BACKGROUND It is important to maintain the psychological well-being of front-line healthcare staff during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. AIMS To examine COVID-19-related stress and its immediate psychological impact on healthcare staff. METHOD All healthcare staff working in the fever clinic, from 20 January 2020 to 26 March 2020, of a tertiary general hospital were enrolled. Stress management procedures were in place to alleviate concerns about the respondents' own health and the health of their families, to help them adjust their work and to provide psychological support via a hotline. Qualitative interviews were undertaken and the Sources of Distress and the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R) were administered. RESULTS Among the 102 participants (25 males; median age 30 years, interquartile range (IQR) = 27-36), the median IES-R total score was 3 (IQR = 0-8), and 6 participants (6.0%) scored above the cut-off on the IES-R (≥20). Safety and security were acceptable or better for 92 (90.2%) participants. The top four sources of distress were worry about the health of one's family/others at 0.88 (IQR = 0.25-1.25), worry about the virus spread at 0.50 (IQR = 0.00-1.00), worry about changes in work at 0.50 (IQR = 0.00-1.00) and worry about one's own health at 0.25 (IQR = 0.25-0.75). There was a moderate correlation between the IES-R score and the Sources of Distress score (rho = 0.501, P = 0.001). CONCLUSIONS The stress levels of healthcare staff in the fever clinic during the COVID-19 epidemic were not elevated. Physio-psychosocial interventions, including fulfilment of basic needs, activation of self-efficacy and psychological support, are helpful and worth recommending in fighting COVID-19.

Abstract
This article provides an overview of nonpharmacologic options for the treatment of pain in patients with inflammatory arthritis, such as peripheral spondyloarthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and rheumatoid arthritis. The experience of pain in chronic disease is a complex process influenced by multiple domains of health. The discussion focuses on the establishment of a framework for pain control that engages with factors that influence the experience of pain and explores the evidence base that supports specific modalities of nonpharmacologic pain control, such as mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, exercise, massage, splinting, and heat therapy. Rheumatoid and spondyloarthritides are considered separately.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Stroke can lead to life-long disability and constitutes a huge financial burden on the family and society. Stroke survivors with cognitive impairment often experience considerable challenges in the process of recovery and returning to society. Interventions that effectively help individuals resume essential daily activities and return to active participation in their communities are lacking. This study examines the efficacy of a newly-developed intervention programme, the Optimising Participation after Stroke through Strategy-training (OPASS) programme, for improving community participation among stroke survivors with cognitive impairment. METHODS AND ANALYSIS A single-blind, parallel-group randomised controlled trial with allocation concealment and assessor blinding will be implemented to assess the efficacy of the OPASS programme. An expected 210 adults with cognitive impairment following stroke will be randomly assigned to either the experimental intervention (OPASS) group or the attention control group. In addition to their usual rehabilitation, both groups will receive 45 min sessions, twice weekly for a total of 12-15 sessions. The primary outcome is change in participation performance, which will be measured using the participation measure-three domains, four dimensions scale. Additional measures include the Activity Measure for Post-Acute Care generic outpatient short forms, Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Stroop Test, Trail Making Test and General Self-Efficacy Scale. These scales will be administered at baseline, post-intervention, 3-month follow-up, 6-month follow-up and 12-month follow-up. Their results will be analysed using multiple linear regression models and mixed-effects regression models. Further assessment of feasibility and acceptability of the intervention will be conducted through structured interviews with participants, caregivers and therapists. These interviews will be transcribed and thematically analysed. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION Ethics approval was obtained from the Ethics Committee of Taipei Medical University (approval number: N201804055). The findings will be disseminated through presentations at scientific conferences and through publication in peer-reviewed journals. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER NCT03792061; pre-results.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Postpartum anxiety (PPA) and postpartum depression (PPD) are associated with immediate and long-term health risks for both mothers and babies. The purpose of this paper was to evaluate relationships between sociodemographic, perinatal variables, and PPA and PPD symptoms of parturients 6 weeks postpartum. METHODS A cross-sectional survey with 1204 women who had a healthy and term birth in a baby-friendly hospital, Shanghai, China. PPA and PPD symptoms were measured by using the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS). RESULTS The mean score of SAS and EPDS was 40.79 ± 8.48 and 8.18 ± 5.80, respectively. The estimated prevalence of PPA and PPD symptoms was 15.2% and 23.2%, respectively. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that the presence of fatigue and PPD symptoms were risk factors for PPA symptoms, whereas having support from family and being satisfied with labor experience were protective factors. In terms of PPD symptoms, its risk factors included smoking before pregnancy, maternal separation from baby, fatigue, encountering difficulties in breastfeeding, and the presence of PPA symptoms. In contrast, the protective factors for PPD symptoms were having support from family and having support from colleagues or friends. LIMITATIONS Convenience sampling and voluntary participation may have led to a selection bias. CONCLUSION PPA and PPD symptoms occur commonly among parturients in Shanghai, China. The findings from this research provide a better understanding of factors associated with PPA and PPD symptoms and will help guide personalized approaches to the management of postpartum anxiety and depression.

Abstract
A novel coronavirus pneumonia broke out and gradually developed into a global public health problem. Health care workers, especially nurses, suffered from great occupational pressure and psychological distress during the outbreak of infectious diseases. We performed a cross-sectional survey to investigate the psychological status and self-efficacy of nurses in public hospital during COVID-19 outbreak between 16th and 25th February 2020. A total of 223 nurses participated in this study. The prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms was 40.8% (CI 95%: 34.4%-47.2%) and 26.4% (CI 95%: 20.6%-42.2%), respectively. There was no difference in the prevalence of anxiety symptoms among demographic variables. There was significant differences in the prevalence of depression symptoms according to professional titles (P = .020). The mean score of self-efficacy was 25.90 ± 7.55. The self-efficacy was negatively correlated with anxiety (r = -0.161, P < .05). The psychological status of nurses in public hospital during COVID-19 outbreak needs our attention. Improving nurses' self-efficacy in dealing with emerging infectious diseases may be helpful to their psychology.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Depression and anxiety result in psychological distress, which can further affect mental status and quality of life in stroke patients. Exploring the associations between positive psychological variables and symptoms of psychological distress following stroke is of great significance for further psychological interventions. METHODS A total of 710 stroke patients from the five largest cities in Liaoning Province in China were enrolled into the present study in July 2014. All patients independently completed the questionnaires with respect to psychological distress and positive psychological variables. Depressive and anxiety symptoms were evaluated using Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale, respectively. Positive psychological variables were evaluated using Perceived Social Support Scale, Adult Hope Scale (AHS), General Perceived Self-Efficacy Scale and Resilience Scale-14 (RS-14). Activities of Daily Living (ADL) was measured using Barthel Index. Factors associated with psychological variables and depressive and anxiety symptoms were identified using t-test, ANOVA, correlation and hierarchical linear regression analysis. RESULTS Depressive and anxiety symptoms were present in 600 of 710 (84.51%) and 537 of 710 (75.63%) stroke patients enrolled, respectively. Social support (β = - 0.111, p < 0.001) and hope (β = - 0.120, p < 0.001) were negatively associated with both depressive and anxiety symptoms. Resilience (β = - 0.179, p < 0.001) was negatively associated with depressive symptoms. Self-efficacy (β = - 0.135, p < 0.001) was negatively associated with anxiety symptoms. Hierarchical regression analyses indicated that ADL accounted for 10.0 and 6.0% of the variance of depressive and anxiety symptoms, respectively. Social support, resilience, self-efficacy and hope as a whole accounted for 7.5 and 5.3% of the variance of depressive and anxiety symptoms. CONCLUSIONS The high frequency of depressive and anxiety symptoms among Chinese stroke survivors should receive attentions from all stakeholders. Findings suggested that intervention strategies on ADL, social support, hope, resilience and self-efficacy could be developed to improve psychosocial outcomes for stroke survivors.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF REVIEW There is increasing evidence that adjunctive, non-pharmacologic treatment programs are beneficial in the management of arthritis when added to traditional disease-modifying medications. This review focuses on non-pharmacologic management strategies that impact pain and affect, with a focus on self-efficacy, for those with osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RECENT FINDINGS We reviewed both office-based and internet-based self-management strategies, mindfulness based interventions (MBIs), and cognitive behavioral therapies (CBTs) for patients with arthritis. These behavioral strategies have shown to improve pain, mood disturbance, and physical function in those with both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Improvements in self-efficacy and coping capacity are associated with improvements in patient-reported outcomes (PROs) related to pain and functioning. SUMMARY Self-management programs, MBIs, and CBTs are more effective at improving pain and mood disturbance compared to usual care for patients with arthritis although high quality randomized controlled trials are lacking. Non-pharmacologic management programs are increasingly available via the internet and mobile applications.

Abstract
The study aimed to investigate the associations between maternal lifestyles and antenatal stress and anxiety. 1491 pregnant women were drawn from the Guangxi birth cohort study (GBCS). A base line questionnaire was used to collect demographic information and maternal lifestyles. The Pregnancy Stress Rating Scale (PSRS) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) were used to assess prenatal stress and anxiety, respectively. Regression analyses identified the relationship between maternal lifestyles and prenatal stress and anxiety: (1) Hours of phone use per day was positively correlated to prenatal stress and anxiety and increased with stress and anxiety levels (all P trend < 0.05). In addition, not having baby at home was positively correlated to prenatal stress. (2) Self-reported sleep quality was negative with prenatal stress and anxiety, and decreased with stress and anxiety levels (all P trend < 0.01). Moreover, not frequent cooking was negatively correlated to prenatal stress and having pets was negatively correlated to prenatal anxiety (P < 0.05). However, having pets was not correlated to prenatal stress (P > 0.05). Our results showed that adverse lifestyles increase the risk of antenatal stress and anxiety, a regular routine and a variety of enjoyable activities decreases the risk of prenatal stress and anxiety.
