Abstract
Despite concerted efforts in emission control, air pollution control remains challenging. Urban planning has emerged as a crucial strategy for mitigating PM2.5 pollution. What remains unclear is the impact of urban form and their interactions with seasonal changes. In this study, base on the air quality monitoring stations in the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration, the relationship between urban spatial indicators (building morphology and land use) and PM2.5 concentrations was investigated using full subset regression and variance partitioning analysis, and seasonal differences were further analysed. Our findings reveal that PM2.5 pollution exhibits different sensitivities to spatial scales, with higher sensitivity to the local microclimate formed by the three-dimensional structure of buildings at the local scale, while land use exerts greater influence at larger scales. Specifically, land use indicators contributed sustantially more to the PM2.5 prediction model as buffer zone expand (from an average of 2.41% at 100 m range to 47.30% at 5000 m range), whereas building morphology indicators display an inverse trend (from an average of 13.84% at 100 m range to 1.88% at 5000 m range). These results enderscore the importance of considering building morphology in local-scale urban planning, where the increasing building height can significantly enhance the disperion of PM2.5 pollution. Conversely, large-scale urban planning should prioritize the mixed use of green spaces and construction lands to mitigate PM2.5 pollution. Moreover, the significant seasonal differences in the ralationship between urban spatical indicatiors and PM2.5 pollution were observed. Particularly moteworthy is the heightened association between forest, water indicators and PM2.5 concentrations in summer, indicating the urban forests may facilitate the formation of volatile compunds, exacerbating the PM2.5 pollution. Our study provides a theoretical basis for addressing scale-related challenges in urban spatial planning, thereby forstering the sustainable development of cities.

Abstract
As an important part of urban green infrastructure, the landscape effect of the urban waterfront green space varies, and sometimes, the green space with an excellent landscape aesthetic value fails to serve the needs of most citizens. This seriously affects the construction of a green ecological civilization and the implementation of the concept of "common prosperity" in China. Based on multi-source data, this study took the Qiantang River Basin as an example, selected 12 representative waterfront green spaces along the river as the research objects, and used qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to determine the landscape aesthetic value of the research area from the different dimensions of space, psychology, and physiology. We examined the relationship between each dimension so as to objectively and comprehensively reflect the landscape value characteristics of the waterfront green space in the study area and provide a reasonable theoretical framework and practical development path for future urban waterfront green space landscape design. We obtained the following results: (1) The results of the spatial dimension research indicated that the spatial value index of the waterfront green space in the study area was three-dimensional space > vertical space > horizontal space, and the overall spatial value was low; Qianjiang Ecological Park obtained the highest value (0.5473), and Urban Balcony Park obtained the lowest value (0.4619). (2) The results of the psychological dimension indicated that people's perceptions of the waterfront green space in the study area were relatively weak, mainly focusing on visual perception, but the waterfront green space with a relative emotional value greater than one accounted for 75%, and the overall recognition of the landscape was high. (3) The results of the behavioral dimension showed that the overall heat of the waterfront green space in the study area was insufficient (1.3719-7.1583), which was mainly concentrated in low-heat levels, and the population density was unevenly distributed (0.0014-0.0663), which was mainly concentrated in the medium-density level. The main purpose of users was to visit, and they stayed an average of 1.5 h. (4) The results of the coupling coordination analysis of the spatial-psychological-behavioral dimensions showed that the landscape value of the waterfront green space in the study area presented a form of 'high coupling degree and low coordination degree'.

Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought huge challenges to sustainable urban and community development. Although some recovery signals and patterns have been uncovered, the intra-city recovery process remains underexploited. This study proposes a comprehensive approach to quantify COVID-19 recovery leveraging fine-grained human mobility records. Taking Wuhan, a typical COVID-19 affected megacity in China, as the study area, we identify accurate recovery phases and select appropriate recovery functions in a data-driven manner. We observe that recovery characteristics regarding duration, amplitude, and velocity exhibit notable differences among urban blocks. We also notice that the recovery process under a one-wave outbreak lasts at least 84 days and has an S-shaped form best fitted with four-parameter Logistic functions. More than half of the recovery variance can be well explained and estimated by common variables from auxiliary data, including population, economic level, and built environments. Our study serves as a valuable reference that supports data-driven recovery quantification for COVID-19 and other crises.

Abstract
Quantitative assessment of urban vibrancy is crucial to understanding urban development and promoting sustainability, especially for rapidly developing areas and regions that have experienced post-disaster reconstruction. Taking Dujiangyan City, the hardest-hit area of the earthquake, as an example, this paper quantifies the urban economic, social, and cultural vibrancy after reconstruction by the use of multi-source data, and conducts a geographic visualization analysis. The purpose is to establish an evaluation framework for the relationship between the urban built environment elements and vibrancy in different dimensions, to evaluate the benefits of post-disaster restoration and reconstruction. The results show that the urban vibrancy reflected by classified big data can not be completely matched due to the difference in the data generation and collection process. The Criteria Importance Though Inter-criteria Correlation and entropy (CRITIC-entropy) method is used to construct a comprehensive model is a better representation of the urban vibrancy spatial characteristics. On a global scale, comprehensive vibrancy demonstrates high continuity and a bi-center structure. In the old town, the distribution of various urban vibrancies show diffusion characteristics, while those in the new district demonstrated a high degree of aggregation, and the comprehensive vibrancy is less sensitive to land-use mixture and more sensitive to residential land.

Abstract
Urban population density distribution contributes towards a deeper understanding of peoples’ activities patterns and urban vibrancy. The associations between the distribution of urban population density and land use are crucial to improve urban spatial structure. Despite numerous studies on population density distribution and land use, the significance of spatial dependence has attained less attention. Based on the Baidu heat map data and points of interests data in the main urban zone of Guangzhou, China, the current paper first investigated the spatial evolution and temporal distribution characteristics of urban population density and examined the spatial spillover influence of land use on it through spatial correlation analysis methods and the spatial Durbin model. The results show that the urban population density distribution is characterized by aggregation in general and varies on weekends and weekdays. The changes in population density within a day present a trend of “rapid growth-gentle decline-rapid growth-rapid decline”. Furthermore, the spatial spillover effects of land use exist and play the same important roles in population density distribution as the direct effects. Additionally, different types of land use show diverse direct effects and spatial spillover effects at various times. These findings suggest that balancing the population density distribution should consider the indirect effect from neighboring areas, which hopefully provide implications for urban planners and policy makers in utilizing the rational allocation of public resources and regarding optimization of urban spatial structure.

The Influence of Strip-City Street Network Structure on Spatial Vitality: Case Studies in Lanzhou, China. LAND 2021. Abstract
In the context of China’s recent urbanization, the agglomeration and diffusion of the strip-city spatial network are gradually being reconstructed. The ways in which the street network structure affects the underlying logic of economic and social development is worthy of in-depth consideration. This study takes Lanzhou (a typical strip city in China) as a case study, using dynamic, geographic, big data and spatial syntactic-theory models to explore the influence of street network accessibility and structure on the spatial and temporal distribution of strip-city spatial vitality. We use Hotspot Analysis (Getis-Ord Gi*) to analyze the dispersal characteristics of street space vitality. In addition, the spatial and temporal heterogeneity characteristics and mechanism of the influence of street accessibility on spatial vitality are evaluated using the spatial Durbin model (SDM). The results show that: the temporal and spatial performance of urban vitality on weekdays and weekends conforms to people’s daily activities, offering similar spatial agglomeration and dispersion effects; accessibility and pedestrian-friendly streets have better urban spatial vitality clustering; street network integration significantly affects the reshaping of urban vitality, but there is apparent temporal heterogeneity in the degree of impact.

Abstract
The potential of urban waterfronts as vibrant urban spaces has become a focus of urban studies in recent years. However, few studies have examined the relationships between urban vitality and built environment characteristics in urban waterfronts. This study takes advantage of emerging urban big data and adopts hourly Baidu heat map (BHM) data as a proxy for portraying urban vitality along the Yangtze River in Nanjing. The impact of built environment on urban vitality in urban waterfronts is revealed with the ordinary least squares (OLS) and geographically weighted regression (GWR) models. The results show that (1) the distribution of urban vitality in urban waterfronts shows similar agglomeration characteristics on weekdays and weekends, and the identified vibrant cores tend to be the important city and town centers; (2) the building density has the strongest positive associations with urban vitality in urban waterfronts, while the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) is negative; (3) the effects of the built environment on urban vitality in urban waterfronts have significant spatial variations. Our findings can provide meaningful guidance and implications for vitality-oriented urban waterfronts planning and redevelopment.

Abstract
When a public health emergency occurs, a potential sanitation threat will directly change local residents' behavior patterns, especially in high-density urban areas. Their behavior pattern is typically transformed from demand-oriented to security-oriented. This is directly manifested as a differentiation in the population distribution. This study based on a typical area of high-density urban area in central Tianjin, China. We used Baidu heat map (BHM) data to calculate full-day and daytime/nighttime state population aggregation and employed a geographically weighted regression (GWR) model and Moran's I to analyze pre-epidemic/epidemic population aggregation patterns and pre-epidemic/epidemic population flow features. We found that during the COVID-19 epidemic, the population distribution of the study area tended to be homogenous clearly and the density decreased obviously. Compared with the pre-epidemic period: residents' demand for indoor activities increased (average correlation coefficient of the floor area ratio increased by 40.060%); traffic demand decreased (average correlation coefficient of the distance to a main road decreased by 272%); the intensity of the day-and-night population flow declined significantly (its extreme difference decreased by 53.608%); and the large-living-circle pattern of population distribution transformed to multiple small-living circles. This study identified different space utilization mechanisms during the pre-epidemic and epidemic periods. It conducted the minimum living security state of an epidemic-affected city to maintain the operation of a healthy city in the future.

Abstract
As a kind of geospatial big data, point of interest (POI) with useful information has become a hot research topic. Compared with traditional methods, big data has great potential in developing a more accurate method for identifying the urban spatial pattern. This paper uses diversity index and kernel density analysis of POI data on several types of urban infrastructure to investigate the identification of urban block development stages in Wuhan, and divides them into the primary, growth, and mature stage. Its accuracy is verified by exploring urban micro-centers. Results show that: (1) the spatial pattern of urban blocks in Wuhan presents the distribution of “mature blocks concentrated like a core, growth blocks distributed like two wings, and primary blocks with wide range distributed surround”; (2) areas with more connected construction land and streets with better socio-economic status tend to have a higher level of maturity, vice versa; (3) balancing the number of micro-centers at different stages is beneficial to promote the flattened urban development of Wuhan in the future. The research proves that this method is feasible, and it is also applicable to the study of urban spatial pattern in other cities.
