Development of a mobile application for emergency shift handovers using the National Early Warning Score

OBJECTIVE

To develop and validate a prototype of a mobile application shift handover between nurses in the emergency room using a severity scale.

METHOD

This is a technological tool carried out at the Universidade Estadual de Maringá using design thinking, divided into four phases: discovering, defining, developing, and delivering. To structure the information, a checklist was used based on the Situation Background Assessment Recommendation, and to categorize patients in terms of severity, the National Early Warning Score was used. The validation of the sample was carried out by 10 nurses, specialized in the field of urgency and emergency, using the System Usability Scale questionnaire to assess usability. The content validity coefficient was used for analysis.

RESULTS

The application scored 75.75 in usability and had a content validity coefficient of 0.8.

CONCLUSION

The prototype obtained an excellent evaluation of usability and agreement between evaluators. Future studies are needed for implementation in practice, evaluating the practicality, applicability, efficiency and time savings in shift information transfer.

Post-acute COVID and long-COVID among adults and older adults in the State of Paraná, Brazil: protocol for an ambispective cohort study

INTRODUCTION

Since 2020, the world has been going through a viral pandemic with a high morbidity and mortality rate along with the potential to evolve from an acute infection to post-acute and long-COVID, which is still in the process of elucidation. Diagnostic and prognostic research is essential to understand the complexity of factors and contexts involving the illness's process. This protocol introduces a study strategy to analyse predictors, sequelae, and repercussions of COVID-19 in adults and older adults with different disease severities in the State of Paraná, Brazil.

METHODS AND ANALYSIS

A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design. The quantitative data will be conducted by an ambispective cohort study, which will explore the manifestations of COVID-19 for 18 months, with nearly 3000 participants with confirmed diagnoses of COVID-19 (reverse transcription-PCR test) between March and December of 2020, retrieved from national disease reporting databases, over 18 years old, living in a Brazilian State (Paraná) and who survived the viral infection after being discharged from a health service. Data collection will be conducted through telephone interviews, at two different occasions: the first will be a recall 12 months after the acute phase as a retrospective follow-up, and the second will be another prospective interview, with data of the following 6 months. For the qualitative step, Grounded Theory will be used; participants will be selected from the cohort population. The first sample group will be composed of people who were discharged from the intensive care unit, and other sample groups will be composed according to theoretical saturation. The qualitative data will follow the temporal design and classification of the disease provided for in the cohort.

ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION

Ethics approval was granted by the State University of Maringá, under opinion number: 4 165 272 and CAAE: 34787020.0.0000.0104 on 21 July 2020, and Hospital do Trabalhador (Worker's Hospital), which is accountable for the Health Department of the State of Paraná, under opinion number: 4 214 589 and CAAE: 34787020.0.3001.5225 on 15 August 2020. The participants will verbally consent to the research, their consent will be recorded, and the informed consent form will be sent by mail or email. Outcomes will be widely disseminated through peer-reviewed manuscripts, conference presentations, media and reports to related authorities.

Assessment of organizational dynamics in a Psychosocial Care Center from the multidisciplinary team's perspective

OBJECTIVES

to assess organizational dynamics in a Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs from the multidisciplinary team's perspective.

METHODS

an evaluative, qualitative study, supported by the Fourth Generation Assessment theoretical-methodological framework. It was carried out in a Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs from September 2019 to March 2020. Data collection took place through observation, individual open-ended interviews and negotiation sessions. The informants were 12 professionals. Analysis was based on Constant Comparative Method.

RESULTS

it was highlighted as potential of organizational dynamics, being an outpatient service, trying to address the deficiencies of RAPS and understanding the importance of matrix support. Among the challenges are the fragility of teamwork, reception, insufficient training, worker profile and overload.

FINAL CONSIDERATIONS

the importance of understanding the work process and the care flow is highlighted, in order to strengthen the Psychosocial Care Network.

“Reanimabebê”: serious game para equipe de enfermagem na reanimação cardiopulmonar em pediatria

Delinear o processo de planejamento e desenvolvimento de uma tecnologia digital, serious game, voltado ao atendimento à parada cardiorrespiratória infantil pela equipe de enfermagem em unidade de pronto atendimento. Estudo metodológico, desenvolvido segundo o Design Participativo em unidade de Pronto Atendimento à Criança. Os participantes corresponderam à equipe de enfermagem e aos juízes-especialistas. A construção do game ocorreu a partir da escolha da temática pela equipe, confecção do roteiro, encaminhamento à equipe de informática, disponibilização do jogo aos sujeitos e posterior avaliação. Para tanto, utilizou-se o instrumento EGameFlow. Juízes-especialistas avaliaram o jogo como uma inovação tecnológica, que atestam sua aptidão para aplicação na referida população de interesse. Face ao impacto potencialmente positivo da utilização dessa ferramenta neste complexo cenário assistencial, vislumbra-se a possibilidade de incorporar o uso do serious game às estratégias de educação permanente em saúde, visando à qualificação crescente da assistência emergencial pediátrica.

Avaliação da dinâmica organizacional em Centro de Atenção Psicossocial na perspectiva da equipe multidisciplinar

RESUMO Objetivos: avaliar a dinâmica organizacional em um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e Drogas na perspectiva da equipe multidisciplinar. Métodos: estudo avaliativo, qualitativo, apoiado no referencial teórico-metodológico da Avaliação de Quarta Geração. Realizado em um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e Drogas, de setembro de 2019 a março 2020. A coleta de dados ocorreu por meio da observação, entrevista aberta individual e sessão de negociação. Os informantes foram 12 profissionais, e a análise se baseou no Método Comparativo Constante. Resultados: foram destacadas como potencialidades da dinâmica organizacional ser um serviço ambulatorial, tentar suprir as deficiências da RAPS e entender a importância do matriciamento. Dentre os desafios, estão a fragilidade do trabalho em equipe, do acolhimento, a insuficiência de capacitações, o perfil e sobrecarga do trabalhador. Considerações Finais: salienta-se a importância de compreender o processo de trabalho e o fluxograma de atendimentos, a fim de fortalecer a Rede de Atenção Psicossocial.

Avaliação de quarta geração em Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e Drogas

Resumo Objetivo Avaliar qualitativamente as ações ofertadas por um Centro de Atenção Psicossocial Álcool e Drogas na perspectiva dos familiares e dos usuários do serviço. Método Estudo qualitativo, do tipo estudo de caso, desenvolvido pelo método de avaliação de Quarta Geração, nos meses de setembro de 2019 a março de 2020. Os dados foram coletados por meio da observação e de entrevista aberta individual e analisados pelo Método Comparativo Constante. Os informantes foram nove familiares e oito usuários do serviço. Para auxiliar na organização e na apresentação dos dados, utilizou-se o software ATLAS.ti 9.0.18. Resultados Ambos os grupos de interesse ressaltaram positivamente a gratuidade do tratamento, o acolhimento, o apoio, as informações ofertadas pela equipe por meio dos grupos, a reinserção social e a oferta de medicação. Além disso, psicólogos e assistentes sociais foram citados como profissionais de maior proximidade. O acesso foi citado com ambiguidade pelos grupos de interesse, e as fragilidades incluíram a continuidade do cuidado pelos pontos da rede psicossocial. Considerações finais e implicações para a prática O estudo reconhece a eficácia do serviço, no entanto, necessita aprimoramento na articulação das ações interprofissionais e intersetoriais entre os demais pontos de atenção e a inclusão da família no tratamento.

Mental health of healthcare professionals in China during the new coronavirus pandemic: an integrative review

OBJECTIVE

to identify publishing related to the mental health of health professionals working in the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic.

METHODS

an integrative review that included primary articles indexed in the Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Scopus, Embase, Web of Science, Science Direct databases and US National Library of Medicine databases. The result analysis was performed descriptively, in four analytical categories.

RESULTS

The publishing involved aspects related to insufficient personal protective equipment, feelings of fear and stigma, the need for psychological and psychiatric support and the possibility of post-outbreak mental disorders.

CONCLUSION

All mentioned aspects have a direct impact on the mental health of professionals, demanding the creation of strategies that minimize the emotional burnout of workers, considering that each country and culture reacts differently to the disease.

EDUCATIONAL AND CARE-RELATED DIALOGICAL PATHWAY ON ACTIVE AGING WITH FAMILY HEALTH STRATEGY PROFESSIONALS

ABSTRACT Objective: to disclose knowledge and practices related to active aging based on the educational and care-related dialogical proposal with professionals from the Family Health Strategy. Method: a convergent care research developed with professionals from the Family Health Strategy, in a municipality in the Central North area of Paraná-Brazil. Data was collected through interviews with 14 professionals with an average duration of 12 minutes followed by a Culture Circle with four professionals and a duration of 59 minutes, following the educational stages of the same, namely: investigation, thematization and disclosure. The premises of Freire's dialogicity were used as a theoretical framework. Results: the data show that professionals have different conceptions about aging, distinct ways of conceptualizing active aging, and scarcity of systematization for the care of the robust elderly. These findings were the basis for the dialogical educational design that allowed to transform and build new knowledge on the theme. Conclusion: the educational and care-related dialogical pathway allowed the collective definition of aging and the understanding of active aging, thus making it possible to advance towards the promotion of comprehensive care for the elderly. The convergent care research approach is shown to be effective for studies of an educational dialogic nature due to its insertion in the context of study and collective construction based on reality.

FATORES ASSOCIADOS À PRESSÃO ARTERIAL INADEQUADA DE PESSOAS COM HIPERTENSÃO

Objetivo: avaliar os fatores associados à pressão arterial inadequada em pessoas com hipertensão acompanhadas pela Estratégia Saúde da Família. Método: estudo transversal, realizado com 417 pessoas, no município de Maringá, Paraná. A coleta de dados foi realizada no primeiro semestre de 2016, por meio do instrumento satisfação do usuário com hipertensão arterial com os serviços prestados pela Atenção Primária à Saúde, utilizando as questões referentes ao perfil sociodemográfico, nutricional e clínico. Na análise dos dados, aplicou-se estatística descritiva e inferencial. Resultados: a maioria dos entrevistados, 62,4% era idoso, 67,8% do sexo feminino e 55,2% aposentado/pensionista. Houve associação da pressão arterial inadequada com pessoas de idade superior a 59 anos, aposentados/pensionistas, moderadamente ativos, não praticantes de atividades físicas e fragilidade nas orientações sobre a doença. Conclusão: os resultados sinalizam a necessidade de reorganização do processo de trabalho, com o fortalecimento das orientações e educação em saúde às pessoas com hipertensão arterial.

AS PERCEPÇÕES DE ACADÊMICOS DE ENFERMAGEM ACERCA DO LAZER

O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar e relatar a percepção sobre o lazer junto a acadêmicos de Enfermagem, permitindo que sejam lançados direcionamentos reflexivos sobre a relevância da formação profissional nesta temática. Foi realizada pesquisa qualitativa, por meio de questionário contendo questões abertas sobre a temática lazer, além de uma parte objetiva sobre questões relativas sobre o perfil dos participantes. Os dados foram interpretados e concluídos por meio de análise temática, após categorização das variáveis qualitativas identificadas. Através dessa pesquisa foi possível identificar e compreender que as opiniões e imagens sobre a temática lazer e a Enfermagem simbolizam a construção cognitiva individual destes conceitos, com percepções distintas de lazer na vida pessoal e profissional; e também notar entendimentos de senso comum nas concepções de lazer.
