Abstract
A good assessment of soil water and salt content is required for sustainable irrigation with brackish/saline water. The use of the Internet of Things (IoT) has been initiated for the tomato crop (Savera variety) as part of the PRIMA MEDITOMATO project. An experiment was carried out between February and June 2022 at a farmer's site. For continuous soil water and salt content assessment, TEROS (11/12) probes were implemented at depths of 0, 10, 20, 30, and 60 cm. The data logging process was performed by a ZL6 device and delivered by the ZENTRA Cloud web application (METER GROUPE Company). For the accuracy of the introduced sensors, calibration tests were first processed. Results of the calibration of the probes in the laboratory and in situ showed linear relationships between the humidity values measured by ZL6 (θZL6) and those determined by the gravimetric method, with high correlation coefficients (R2) of 0.86 and 0.96, respectively. There were also strong linear relationships between the ECbulk(ZL6) and the ECe measured on saturated paste extract with high correlation coefficients (R2) of 0.96 and 0.95. Corrected data, according to the determined linear regression equations, present the real-time assessment of soil water and salt content over the entire growth stage of tomatoes. The results of this monitoring showed that soil water content remained close to its status at field capacity (32%) at the beginning of the assessment and increased with the intensification of irrigation, reaching 46 and 54% at 20 and 30 cm, respectively, around mid-April. The salinity level was greater with depth. Indeed, it was low in topsoil with the increase in irrigation frequency and higher at 30 and 60 cm toward the end of the tomato cycle. According to this study, real-time data given by ZENTRA Cloud allows us to adjust irrigation management on time.

Abstract
A field experiment was conducted investigating the possibility of using treated wastewater (TWW) on sites affected by water scarcity in summer, waterlogging during the wet season, and salinity. A corresponding pot experiment was conducted comparable to the field experiment in Kalaât Landelous. The same plant species (Atriplex nummularia Lindl., Eucalyptus gomphocephala DC., Acacia cyanophylla Lindl., Casuarina glauca Sieber ex Spreng., Cupressus sempervirens L., and Pinus halepensis Mill.) were grown with the same treatments. While, in the field the plants, elemental composition cannot be linked to inputs by TWW, this was studied under controlled conditions. Additionally, a control was established lower in salinity receiving tap water. The effect of TWW irrigation on macro- and microelement uptake by the six plant species was studied. The treatments were high soil salinity under drained saline (DS) conditions, high salinity under waterlogged saline (WS), and a drained non-saline control (DNS: EC = 3.0 dS/m, pH = 8.4). TWW application under DS treatment increased Na, Cl, Ca, Mg, N, P, and K in most plant tissues compared to the control. TWW application in WS treatment resulted in an increase in heavy metals. Cu and Zn showed the highest bioaccumulation factor (BAF). The BAF in different plant tissues followed the order: Cu > Zn > Mn > Cd > Ni > Co > Pb. The plants accumulated significant amounts of metals in their roots.

Abstract
Irrigation with treated waste water (TWW) in combination with plantation of agroforest species was tested in the Kalaât Landelous region for the reclamation of salt affected soils. Five species (Atriplex nummularia, Eucalyptus gomphocephala, Acacia cyanophylla, Casuarina glauca, Pinus halepensis) were cultivated in saline soils that are affected by shallow, saline groundwater and were irrigated with TWW during the summer season. The results after 4 years of experimentation show a distinct decrease in soil pH and salinity accompanied by a decrease in Cl and Na concentrations. Irrigation decreased the heavy metal concentrations in the topsoil but an increase in deeper layers indicate to leaching due to TWW irrigation. The investigated plant species were differently affected in growth performance by salinity and TWW irrigation. Atriplex nummularia appeared to be the most resistant species and Pinus halepensis the most sensitive one to hydro-pedological conditions of the Kalaât Landelous plot. In conclusion, salt-tolerant plant species seem to be good candidates for the reclamation of salt-affected, waterlogged sites in combination with TWW irrigation, as the adaptations of such species seem to operate under different abiotic stress conditions.

Abstract
This study aimed to analyse the frequency of genes encoding virulence factors and to characterize resistance profiles of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from raw milk. In total, 47 and 9 S. aureus isolates were recovered from 150 and 100 raw bovine and ovine milk samples, respectively, in Tunisia. The majority of isolates was resistant to penicillin, and no methicillin-resistant S. aureus was detected. Eighteen and two isolates harboured etd and eta genes respectively. Sixteen enterotoxin-encoding genes were detected (n, %): sed (25, 44·6%), sec (16, 28·6%), sei (16, 28·6%), seh (13, 23·2%), seln (13, 23·2%), sell (10, 17·8%), seg (9, 16%), selu (8, 14·3%), selq (7, 12·5%), selo (7, 12·5%), selm (7, 12·5%), seb (7, 12·5%), sea (6, 10·7%), selk (3, 5·4%), ser (1, 1·8%) and selp (1, 1·8%). Ten isolates carried the tsst1 gene. All isolates carried the haemolysin toxin (hla, hld and hlg). The immune evasion cluster system-type B was predominant (20 isolates) followed by C (3 isolates), A and E (1 isolate each). The occurrence of enterotoxigenic S. aureus in raw milk constitutes a potential risk for human health. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: This paper describes the characteristics of Staphylococcus aureus isolated from raw milk samples from healthy cows and ewes collected from small family farms in Tunisia. Fifty-six strains were analysed by determining their antibiotic susceptibility and genes encoding antibiotic resistance and virulence factors. Methicillin-resistant strains were not detected, and overall low level of antimicrobial resistance was reported. However, our strains harboured several genes encoding virulence factors and 87·5% of them carried at least one gene encoding for enterotoxins showing a high risk of spread of food-borne diseases.

Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate management and outcome in esophageal atresia (EA) and to identify early predictive factors of morbidity and mortality in a developing country. Charts of neonates with repaired EA from 2007 to 2016 were reviewed. Patients' characteristics, operative details, and postoperative outcomes were collected. Statistical analyses were performed to identify predictors of complicated evolution. Forty-two cases were collected. There were 14 girls and 28 boys. Only one patient had antenatal diagnosis (2.3%). The mean gestational age was 38 weeks. Nine patients (21.4%) weighed less than 2.5 kg. Seventeen (40.4%) patients had associated malformations most commonly cardiac (9/17). Thirteen patients had delayed diagnosis (30.9%). Thirty-nine (92.8%) patients underwent primary esophageal anastomosis. Overall survival was 76.2%. Nineteen patients (57% of survivals) had complicated evolution before the age of one year and 15 patients (46.8% of survivals) developed complications after the age of one year. Perinatal variables associated with mortality were prematurity (p = 0.004, OR = 5.4, IC95% = [1.13-25.80]), low birth weight (p = 0.023, OR = 7, IC95% = [1.38-35.47]), cardiac malformations (p = 0.006, OR = 10.5, IC95% = [2.03-54.27]) and delayed diagnosis (p = 0.005, OR = 10.11, IC95% = [2.005-50.980]). Variables associated with short-term and middle-term complications were duration of intubation (p = 0.019, OR = 0.118, IC95% = [0.019-0.713]) and the presence of short-term complications (p = 0.016, OR = 7.33, IC95% = [1.467-36.664]) respectively. These factors may be used to identify patients who will benefit from more intensive follow-up program.

Abstract
Ovarian masses requiring surgical intervention are uncommon in the pediatric population. Our aim is to report results of a multicentric Tunisian study concerning the clinical practice and the management of pediatric ovarian masses and to identify the factors that are associated with ovarian preservation. Between January 2000 and December 2015, 98 pediatric patients (<14 years) were surgically treated for ovarian masses at the five pediatric surgery departments in Tunisia. Ninety-eight patients were included in this study. The mean age of the patients at time of surgery was 8.46 ± 4.87 years. Sixty-three ovarian masses (64.3%) were non-neoplastic lesions, 24 (24.5%) were benign tumors, and 11 (11.2%) were malignant neoplasms. Conservative surgery (ovarian-preserving surgery) was successfully performed in 72.4% of the benign lesions, whereas only three patients (27.3%) with malignant tumors underwent ovary-sparing tumor resection (p < .001). The mean diameter of the tumors in the patients who underwent oophorectomy was significantly larger than that in the patients who underwent conservative surgery (7.8 ± 3.9 cm vs. 5.7 ± 2.9 cm, respectively, p = .001). In our study, the risk factors for oophorectomy were a malignant pathology and large tumor size. In accordance with the Gynecologic Cancer Intergroup consensus, we recommend that surgical management of ovarian masses in children should be based on ovarian-preserving surgery.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Mini-invasive surgery is still evolving to get better surgical conditions for patients with ureteropelvic junction obstruction. We used technical modifications (hybrid pyeloplasty) that simplify surgical steps of laparoendoscopic single-site pyeloplasty in children. Our aim was to compare hybrid pyeloplasty to laparoendoscopic single-site pyeloplasty and to open pyeloplasty. PATIENTS AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed records of patients with ureteropelvic junction obstruction aged<14years undergoing pyeloplasty at our institute from January 2011 to December 2015. Demographic data, laterality, operative time, length of hospital stay, drainage tubes, and postoperative complications were recorded. Surgical outcomes were evaluated based on renal sonography and Lasix diuretic renography. RESULTS Among 38 patients, 17 underwent open pyeloplasty (group I), 10 had laparoendoscopic single-site pyeloplasty (group II) and 11 had hybrid pyeloplasty (group III). The mean age at the time of operation was 55 months. The operative time in group III was significantly shorter than that in group I and group II (P<0.001). The shortest median hospital stay was noted in the group III. The mean follow-up period was 26 months (range: 6-52 months). CONCLUSION The hybrid pyeloplasty using LESS combine the successful outcomes of open surgery and advantages of minimally invasive surgery. It offers small incision surgery, good working space, short operation time, secure anastomosis and good cosmetic results. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE 5.

Exogenous proline mediates alleviation of cadmium stress by promoting photosynthetic activity, water status and antioxidative enzymes activities of young date palm (Phoenix dactylifera L.). Abstract
The ability of exogenous compatible solutes, such as proline, to counteract cadmium (Cd) inhibitory effects in young date palm plants (Phoenix dactylifera L. cv Deglet Nour) was investigated. Two-year-old date palm plants were subjected for five months at different Cd stress levels (0, 10 and 30 mg CdCl2 kg(-1) soil) whether supplied or not with exogenous proline (20mM) added through the irrigation water. Different levels of Cd stress altered plant growth, gas exchanges and chlorophyll content as well as water status, but at different extent among them. In contrast, an increase of antioxidant enzymes activities of Cd-treated plants in association with high amounts of proline content, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and electrolyte leakage (EL) were observed. Interestingly, exogenous proline mitigated the adverse effects of Cd on young date palm. Indeed, it alleviated the oxidative damage induced by Cd accumulation and established better levels of plant growth, water status and photosynthetic activity. Moreover, proline-treated plants showed high antioxidant enzymes activities (superoxide dismutase, catalase and glutathione peroxydase) in roots and leaves as compared to Cd-treated plants.

Abstract
Morgagni hernias are uncommon, accounting for only 1-2% of all congenital diaphragmatic hernia. Minimally invasive surgery is today the gold standard treatment. We present a technique using percutaneous suturing and single-site umbilical laparoscopic repair of Morgagni hernia in three children. Recovery was uneventful in all three patients. There was no recurrence and the chest radiograph remained normal during the postoperative follow-up. The percutaneous suturing technique and single-site umbilical laparoscopic repair of a Morgagni hernia is an easy and effective alternative to standard laparoscopic repair.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The single scrotal incision orchidopexy was described by Bianchi in 1989. Despite its popularity, the place of this technique in the treatment of cryptorchidism in children is still unclear. AIM OF THE STUDY To evaluate and compare the outcomes of the conventional inguinal approach and the scrotal approach for the treatment of palpable undescended testis in children. METHODS A prospective study for all patients with palpable undescended testis undergoing orchidopexy between January 2011 and December 2013 was conducted. Totally 200 patients were randomly divided into two groups: group 1: two incisions inguinal approach (80 patients, 100 testis); group 2: single scrotal incision approach (89 patients, 100 testis). MAIN RESULTS The patients' mean age was 53.9±13 months in group 1 and 45.8±9 months in group 2. There was no statistical difference between the two groups in terms of patient age (P=0.8) and location of the undescended testis (P=0.359). Operative time was statistically significantly lower in the scrotal group (P<0.05). There was a significant difference in the complications rates between the two groups. CONCLUSION The single scrotal incision orchidopexy is safe and effective for undescended testicles palpable in the inguinal canal or in high scrotal position.

Abstract
A pot experiment under open air conditions was carried out to investigate the uptake, accumulation and toxicity effects of fluoride in olive trees (Olea europaea L.) grown in a soil spiked with inorganic sodium fluoride (NaF). Six different levels (0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100mM NaF) of soil spiking were applied through NaF to irrigation water. At the end of the experiment, total fluoride content in soil was 20 and 1770mgFkg(-1) soil in control and 100mM NaF treatments, respectively. The comparative distribution of fluoride partitioning among the different olive tree parts showed that the roots accumulated the most fluoride and olive fruits were minimally affected by soil NaF spiking as they had the lowest fluoride content. In fact, total fluoride concentration varied between 12 and 1070µgFg(-1) in roots, between 9 and 570µgFg(-1) in shoots, between 12 and 290µgFg(-1) in leaves, and between 10 and 29µgFg(-1) in fruits, respectively for control and 100mM NaF treatments. Indeed, the fluoride accumulation pattern showed the following distribution: roots>shoots>leaves>fruits. On the other hand, fluoride toxicity symptoms such as leaf necrosis and leaf drop appeared only in highly spiked soils (60, 80 and 100mM NaF).

Abstract
INTRODUCTION As osteoclast, giant cell tumors express calcitonin receptors. The aim of this paper is to assess treatment using salmon calcitonin after curettage. MATERIAL AND METHODS We retrospectively reviewed 25 patients with giant cell tumor of the appendicular skeleton treated with a single protocol of calcitonin administration following curettage in order to assess the effectiveness of calcitonin in reducing the rate of local recurrence. RESULTS The mean duration follow-up was 68 months. Thirteen patients (52%) had local recurrence. Eight of them were treated successfully after repeated curettage and calcitonin. Four patients had bone resection and one patient had curettage and cement filling. All patients with cavity left empty had ossified and the functional score as assessed by the MSTS score was 28.02/30. CONCLUSION This study suggests that the use of calcitonin as adjuvant is not effective and that filling agents are not required after curettage of giant cell tumors. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE Level 4.

Abstract
Patients with spinal cord injuries are prone to knee hydrarthrosis (also known as "water on the knee"), which can cause pain, functional impairment and the restriction of social activities. Total knee arthroplasty is a potentially appropriate treatment. Here, we report on a patient presenting partial T12 AIS grade C paraplegia who was able to walk with two forearm crutches, an ankle-foot orthosis on the right leg and a knee-ankle-foot orthosis on the left leg. Thirteen years after the spinal cord injury, the patient presented with septic arthritis of the right knee, complicated by recurrent hydrarthrosis during standing and walking. Arthroscopy revealed advanced osteoarthritis. Total knee arthroplasty was performed, with very good functional and social outcomes two and half years after surgery.

Abstract
BACKGROUND PINK1 loss-of-function causes recessive, early-onset parkinsonism. In Tunisia there is a high rate of consanguineous marriage but PINK1 carrier frequency and disease prevalence have yet to be assessed. OBJECTIVES The frequency of PINK1 mutations in familial parkinsonism, community-based patients with idiopathic Parkinson disease (PD) (non-familial PD), and control subjects was determined. Demographic and clinical characteristics of individuals with PINK1 homozygous or heterozygous variants, or without PINK1 mutations, were compared. METHODS A total of 92 kindreds (with 208 affected and 340 unaffected subjects), 240 nonfamilial PD, and 368 control participants were recruited from the Institut National de Neurologie, Tunis. Clinical examinations included Hoehn &Yahr, UPDRS, and Epworth scales. PINK1 sequencing and dosage analysis was performed in familial index patients, the variants identified screened in all subjects. Parkin and LRRK2 genes were also examined. RESULTS Four PINK1 homozygous mutations, three novel (Q129X, Q129fsX157, G440E, and one previously reported; Q456X), segregate with parkinsonism in 46 individuals in 14 of 92 families (15%). Six of 240 patients with nonfamilial PD were found with either homozygous Q456X or Q129X (2.5%) substitutions. In patients with familial disease, PINK1 homozygotes were younger at disease onset (36 +/- 12 years) than noncarriers (57 +/- 15 years) and more often had an akinetic-rigid presentation at examination and slow progression. CONCLUSIONS Segregation of PINK1 mutations with parkinsonism within families, and frequency estimates within population controls, suggested only four PINK1 mutations were pathogenic. Several PINK1 sequence variants are potentially benign and there was no evidence that PINK1 heterozygosity increases susceptibility to idiopathic Parkinson disease.

Abstract
The peculiar role of the substrate field on the nonlinear optical response of a molecular adsorbate experiencing a resonant Raman scattering process is analyzed. The description of the internal dynamics is done in terms of the renormalized normal mode coordinates that account for the conformational changes induced in the adsorbate by the substrate field. This analytical description, well-adapted to weak substrate fields, points out the underlying mechanisms that are responsible for the enhancement of the resonant Raman signal observed in some molecules. They involve elementary processes bringing additional intermediate vibrational states into play, depending on the nature of the field inhomogeneities. Also, according to the relative values of the unperturbed equilibrium positions of the modes, their displacements, and frequency changes due to the substrate field, enhancement as well as decrease of the signal can possibly be observed and are evaluated. Of course, for a strong substrate field, the number of intermediate vibrational levels participating in the Raman process becomes very large, and a complete numerical evaluation is required.

Abstract
L-2-Hydroxyglutaric aciduria (L-2-OHGA) is a rare autosomal recessive neurometabolic disease linked to chromosome 14q21.1 and is caused by mutations in the gene that most likely encodes L: -2-hydroxyglutarate dehydrogenase, which normally catalyses L: -2-hydroxyglutarate to alpha-ketoglutarate. It is characterized by progressive mental deterioration, pyramidal and cerebellar syndromes, macrocephaly and marked polycystic white-matter degeneration mainly involving frontal lobes. Brain tumours of variable nature have frequently been observed in L-2-OHGA. We report a patient affected by this disease who at the age of 20 years developed a bone tumour involving the right frontal region of the calvaria. He had first presented at the age of 10 years with psychomotor delay, clumsy gait and moderate mental impairment. Examination showed macrocephaly, cerebellar ataxia and quadripyramidal syndrome. Brain MRI showed low signal intensities on T1-weighted images and high signal intensities on T2-weighted images in cerebral subcortical white matter. Serum and urinary amino acid assay was normal. Urinary 2-hydroxyglutaric acid was 1418 mmol/mol creatinine (controls <25). Analysis of the L-2-hydroxyglutarate dehydrogenase gene revealed a homozygous mutation in exon 2 (A320G). At the age of 20 years, an osteoma of the right frontal bone was diagnosed. This finding reinforces the opinion concerning the association of L-2-OHGA and tumorigenesis and prompted us to verify the possible responsibility of some overproduced substances in this disease for the development of tumours and to look for any correlation between the type of mutation in the L-2-OHGA gene and the tumorigenic potential observed in some patients affected by this disease.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION The involvement of the peripheral nervous system in Behçet's disease is very rare. CASE REPORT We report a case of a 47-year-old man with a six-year history of Behçet's disease and a two-year history of peripheral nervous system involvement. This patient presented with paraesthesia and weakness of the upper and lower limbs, diarrhea and erectile dysfunction. The electromyogram showed evidence of an axonal sensorimotor neuropathy and the nerve biopsy showed an axonal neuropathy. Routine blood tests were normal, there was no increase of serum creatine kinase, aspartate aminotransfease or lactate dehydrogenase and no signs of hyperthyroidism. Fibroscopy and colonoscopy showed no signs of entero-Behçet. The patient was treated with prednisone, cyclophosphamide and carbamazepine with an improvement of paraesthesia. CONCLUSION The mechanism of the peripheral neuropathy in Behçet's disease is still unknown, it might be due to vasculitis of the vasa nervorum or to the side effects of colchicine. Our report is particular by the association of sensorimotor and autonomic involvement of peripheral neuropathy in a patient with Behçet's disease.

Abstract
The authors report clinical and genetic study of 13 patients from three unrelated Tunisian families with an early onset cerebellar ataxia associated with oculomotor apraxia. Cerebellar ataxia with oculomotor apraxia 1 (AOA1) represents a clinically heterogeneous disease caused by mutations in the aprataxin gene. Two novel mutations were identified, the complete deletion of the gene, which seems to not correlate with an increased severity of the disease, and a splice mutation on the acceptor splice site of exon 7.

Abstract
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY Treating hip trauma victims who develop nonunion of the femoral neck remains a challenge in orthopedic surgery. We studied the clinical and radiological outcome after Pauwels osteotomy for valgisation. MATERIAL AND METHODS This retrospective series included 41 patients (25 men and 16 women), mean age 44.5 years. Initial treatment was surgical in 21 cases and had been insufficient in 91%. Nonunion (subcapital in 53%, transcervical in 40% and basicervical in 7%) had persisted for 16 months. A tight nonunion was present in 65.9% of the cases and the femoral head appeared normal in 70%. Femoral osteotomy was performed for simple valgisation in 78% of the cases with a mean 31.5 degrees correction (range 15 degrees to 50 degrees ). A nail or screwed plate was used for fixation. Results were analyzed at a mean 76 months post-surgery. RESULTS Bone healing was achieved in 98% of the cases. The only failure was related to inappropriate surgical technique. Necrosis was observed in 16 cases. The functional outcome was very good or good in 82% of the patients. CONCLUSION Osteotomy for valgisation remains a very good salvage procedure for nonunion of the femoral neck following hip trauma. It can be used for elderly subjects even in the presence of early stage or partial necrosis.

Abstract
The authors report the results of a retrospective study of 36 cases of tibiotalar arthrodesis performed in 22 men and 14 women with an average age of 32 years. All patients were reviewed with an average of 8.5 years follow-up. The predominating etiologies were ankle osteoarthritis (15 cases) and neurologic deformities of the foot (13 cases). Arthrodesis was performed using the Meary technique in 60% of cases, using the Charnley technique in 20% and the Crawford-Adams technique or with clamps in the other cases. Fusion was obtained in 97% of cases. Long-term results were assessed using Duquennoy et al.'s scoring system. They were very good or good in 58% of cases, fair in 31% and poor in 11%. The study of distal repercussions of tibiotalar arthrodesis shows progressive deterioration of the subtalar joint in 70% of cases and appearance or increase of degenerative changes in 75% of cases. The final results of the procedure depend on this deterioration; the latter is related with the arthrodesis position. Midtalar joint is a compensation joint showing hypermobility in 40% of cases. Degenerative changes were limited and asymptomatic in 80% of cases. Based on the findings in this study and on the literature, we conclude that the foot should be fixed at 90 degrees or with less than 5 degrees of equinus, with 5 degrees of valgus and 10 to 15 degrees of external rotation.

Abstract
The authors report a comparative study of peripheral nerve conductions and nerve biopsy and somatosensory evoked potentials between 15 patients with Friedreich's ataxia and 15 patients with Friedreich's ataxia phenotype with selective vitamin E deficiency. The patients in the two groups are of similar age, age of onset, and clinical phenotype. Peripheral motor nerve action potential amplitude, and conduction velocities are within normal ranges in the two groups. In the Friedreich's ataxia group there is an early and severe peripheral sensory axonal neuronopathy, characterised by an important reduction of the amplitude of sensory action potential, and important loss of myelinated fibres with complete disappearance of large myelinated fibres without any regenerative process. In the Friedreich's ataxia phenotype with selective vitamin E deficiency group there is slight-to-moderate axonal sensory neuropathy with normal to moderate decrease of large myelinated fibre density and important regeneration in nerve biopsy. Somatosensory evoked potentials are markedly involved in the two groups asserting a severe involvement of somatosensory pathway in lumbar, thoracic and cervical spinal cord. These findings suggest that the pathological mechanism involved in the two diseases are different: central peripheral axonopathy in Friedreich's ataxia and central distal axonopathy in Friedreich's ataxia phenotype with selective vitamin E deficiency.

Abstract
The purpose of the study was to clarify the clinico pathological features of periosteal ganglion. The authors present a case of an unusual diaphyseal bony tumor in a 27 years old man. The diagnosis of diaphyseal periosteal ganglion cyst was made on roentgenographic appearance, presence of mucoid material and histologic evidence of a synovial type cellular lining. The patient was successfully treated with excision. The follow-up examination showed no recurrence one year after surgery. The radiological differential diagnosis were considered and possible pathogenes for a periosteal ganglion was discussed. Periosteal ganglia must be considered as a cause of cortical erosions. This lesion may radiologically mimic other periosteal lesions. Treatment with excision is successful in most cases.
