Abstract
OBJECTIVE Automatic medical image segmentation is crucial for accurately isolating target tissue areas in the image from background tissues, facilitating precise diagnoses and procedures. While the proliferation of publicly available clinical datasets led to the development of deep learning-based medical image segmentation methods, a generalized, accurate, robust, and reliable approach across diverse imaging modalities remains elusive. APPROACH This paper proposes a novel high-resolution parallel generative adversarial network (pGAN)-based generalized deep learning method for automatic segmentation of medical images from diverse imaging modalities. The proposed method showcases better performance and generalizability by incorporating novel components such as partial hybrid transfer learning, discrete wavelet transform (DWT)-based multilayer and multiresolution feature fusion in the encoder, and a dual mode attention gate in the decoder of the multi-resolution U-Net-based GAN. With multi-objective adversarial training loss functions including a unique reciprocal loss for enforcing cooperative learning in pGANs, it further enhances the robustness and accuracy of the segmentation map. MAIN RESULTS Experimental evaluations conducted on nine diverse publicly available medical image segmentation datasets, including PhysioNet ICH, BUSI, CVC-ClinicDB, MoNuSeg, GLAS, ISIC-2018, DRIVE, Montgomery, and PROMISE12, demonstrate the proposed method's superior performance. The proposed method achieves mean F1 scores of 79.53%, 88.68%, 82.50%, 93.25%, 90.40%, 94.19%, 81.65%, 98.48%, and 90.79%, respectively, on the above datasets, surpass state-of-the-art segmentation methods. Furthermore, our proposed method demonstrates robust multi-domain segmentation capabilities, exhibiting consistent and reliable performance. The assessment of the model's proficiency in accurately identifying small details indicates that the high-resolution generalized medical image segmentation network (Hi-gMISnet) is more precise in segmenting even when the target area is very small. SIGNIFICANCE The proposed method provides robust and reliable segmentation performance on medical images, and thus it has the potential to be used in a clinical setting for the diagnosis of patients.

Abstract
Coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG) is a proven treatment for coronary artery disease. History of a ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is considered an independent risk factor for CABG irrespective of timing for an emergency or elective surgery. Patients with STEMI are candidates for both On-pump and Off-pump CABG procedures. This paper discusses the possible best option for elective surgical revascularization in patients with prior STEMI. This prospective clinical trial of 60 eligible patients with prior STEMI was conducted in a Tertiary Care Hospital from April 2018 to March 2019. Among them, 30 patients underwent off-pump (Group A) and 30 patients underwent on-pump (Group B) CABG procedures. Outcomes between both groups were observed from surgery to 1 month postoperatively. Data was analysed by the software statistical program for social science (SPSS 25.0 Inc). The surgery was successful in both groups of patients. Differences were observed by mean number of grafts per patient (2.77±0.43 vs. 3.10±0.71) and duration of operation (4.41±0.35 hours vs. 5.71±0.48 hours). An improvement in Left Ventricular Ejection Fraction (LVEF %) was observed in both groups postoperatively (17.98% vs. 10.98%) and the postoperative LVEF% at different time points were found statistically significant (p<0.05) over preoperative LVEF%. Multivariable stepwise logistic regression analysis correlated on-pump CABG with prolonged need for ionotropic support, need for blood transfusion, longer hospital stay and less improvement in LVEF%. The study supports the Off-pump CABG as a better surgical option over on-pump CABG in patients with prior STEMI.

Abstract
Background Telehealth is comprised of telecommunications and electronic information systems to support and maintain long-distance healthcare services. Although it has not been thoroughly explored, the intention of using the service among the general public is critical to its success. We investigated the factors associated with the intention to utilize telehealth services among the general population of Bangladesh. Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted between May 22, 2021 and June 15, 2021 in Bangladesh, where the total number of participants was 1038. The Pearson chi-square test and Kruskal-Wallis H tests were used to examine the unadjusted relationship between the explanatory variables and the intention to use telehealth services. A multinomial logistic regression model was fitted to determine the adjusted association. Shapiro-Wilk tests were used to check the normality of continuous data. Data were processed and analyzed by software STATA-16. Results The probability of utilizing the service increased significantly with increasing knowledge, perceived benefit, and predisposition levels among respondents. However, when perceived concern increased, the likelihood of utilizing the service dropped significantly. Age, marital status, educational status, profession, residence, and perceived health status were significantly associated with the participants' intention to utilize the telehealth service. Conclusions The influencing aspects of telehealth service utilization should be recognized by the respective authorities. Possible activities to enhance usability among people are also recommended.

Abstract
In animal farming, timely estrus detection and prediction of the best moment for insemination is crucial. Traditional sow estrus detection depends on the expertise of a farm attendant which can be inconsistent, time-consuming, and labor-intensive. Attempts and trials in developing and implementing technological tools to detect estrus have been explored by researchers. The objective of this review is to assess the automatic methods of estrus recognition in operation for sows and point out their strong and weak points to assist in developing new and improved detection systems. Real-time methods using body and vulvar temperature, posture recognition, and activity measurements show higher precision. Incorporating artificial intelligence with multiple estrus-related parameters is expected to enhance accuracy. Further development of new systems relies mostly upon the improved algorithm and accurate data provided. Future systems should be designed to minimize the misclassification rate, so better detection is achieved.

Abstract
Objective.Breast cancer is the major cause of cancer death among women worldwide. Deep learning-based computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) systems for classifying lesions in breast ultrasound images can help materialise the early detection of breast cancer and enhance survival chances.Approach.This paper presents a completely automated BUS diagnosis system with modular convolutional neural networks tuned with novel loss functions. The proposed network comprises a dynamic channel input enhancement network, an attention-guided InceptionV3-based feature extraction network, a classification network, and a parallel feature transformation network to map deep features into quantitative ultrasound (QUS) feature space. These networks function together to improve classification accuracy by increasing the separation of benign and malignant class-specific features and enriching them simultaneously. Unlike the categorical crossentropy (CCE) loss-based traditional approaches, our method uses two additional novel losses: class activation mapping (CAM)-based and QUS feature-based losses, to capacitate the overall network learn the extraction of clinically valued lesion shape and texture-related properties focusing primarily the lesion area for explainable AI (XAI).Main results.Experiments on four public, one private, and a combined breast ultrasound dataset are used to validate our strategy. The suggested technique obtains an accuracy of 97.28%, sensitivity of 93.87%, F1-score of 95.42% on dataset 1 (BUSI), and an accuracy of 91.50%, sensitivity of 89.38%, and F1-score of 89.31% on the combined dataset, consisting of 1494 images collected from hospitals in five demographic locations using four ultrasound systems of different manufacturers. These results outperform techniques reported in the literature by a considerable margin.Significance.The proposed CAD system provides diagnosis from the auto-focused lesion area of B-mode BUS images, avoiding the explicit requirement of any segmentation or region of interest extraction, and thus can be a handy tool for making accurate and reliable diagnoses even in unspecialized healthcare centers.

Abstract
Introduction This exploratory review article describes about the genetic factors behind Alzheimer's disease (AD), their association with foods, and their relationships with cognitive impairment. It explores the dietary patterns and economic challenges in AD prevention. Methods Scopus, PubMed and Google Scholar were searched for articles that examined the relationships between Diets, Alzheimer's Disease (AD), and Socioeconomic conditions in preventative Alzheimer's disease studies. Graphs and Network analysis data were taken from Scopus under the MeSH search method, including words, Alzheimer's, APoE4, Tau protein, APP, Amyloid precursor protein, Beta-Amyloid, Aβ, Mediterranean Diet, MD, DASH diet, MIND diet, SES, Socioeconomic, Developed country, Underdeveloped country, Preventions. The network analysis was done through VOS viewer. Results Mediterranean diet (MD) accurately lowers AD (Alzheimer's Disease) risk to 53% and 35% for people who follow it moderately. MIND scores had a statistically significant reduction in AD rate compared to those in the lowest tertial (53% and 35% reduction, respectively). Subjects with the highest adherence to the MD and DASH had a 54% and 39% lower risk of developing AD, respectively, compared to those in the lowest tertial. Omega-6, PUFA, found in nuts and fish, can play most roles in the clearance of Aβ. Vitamin D inhibits induced fibrillar Aβ apoptosis. However, the high cost of these diet components rise doubt about the effectiveness of AD prevention through healthy diets. Conclusion The finding of this study revealed an association between diet and the effects of the chemical components of foods on AD biomarkers. More research is required to see if nutrition is a risk or a protective factor for Alzheimer's disease to encourage research to be translated into therapeutic practice and to clarify nutritional advice.

Abstract
Conventional Copper Indium Gallium Di Selenide (CIGS)-based solar cells are more efficient than second-generation technology based on hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si: H) or cadmium telluride (CdTe). So, herein the photovoltaic (PV) performance of CIGS-based solar cells has been investigated numerically using SCAPS-1D solar simulator with different buffer layer and less expensive tin sulfide (Sn2S3) back-surface field (BSF). At first, three buffer layer such as cadmium sulfide (CdS), zinc selenide (ZnSe) and indium-doped zinc sulfide ZnS:In have been simulated with CIGS absorber without BSF due to optimized and non-toxic buffer. Then the optimized structure of Al/FTO/ZnS:In/CIGS/Ni is modified to become Al/FTO/ZnS:In/CIGS/Sn2S3/Ni by adding a Sn2S3 BSF to enhanced efficiency. The detailed analysis have been investigated is the influence of physical properties of each absorber and buffer on photovoltaic parameters including layer thickness, carrier doping concentration, bulk defect density, interface defect density. This study emphasizes investigating the reasons for the actual devices' poor performance and illustrates how each device's might vary open-circuit voltage (VOC), short-circuit current density (JSC), fill factor (FF), power conversion efficiency (PCE), and quantum efficiency (QE). The optimized structure offers outstanding power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 21.83 % with only 0.80 μm thick CIGS absorber. The proposed CIGS-based solar cell performs better than the previously reported conventional designs while also reducing CIGS thickness and cost.

Abstract
Background and aims Natural compounds extracted from medicinal plants have recently gained attention in therapeutics as they are considered to have lower Toxicity and higher tolerability relative to chemically synthesized compounds. Bakuchiol from Psoralea corylifolia L. is one such compound; it is a type of meroterpene derived from the leaves and seeds of Psoralea corylifolia plants. Natural sources of bakuchiol have been used in traditional Chinese and Indian medicine for centuries due to its preventive benefits against tumors and inflammation. It plays a strong potential role as an antioxidant with impressive abilities to remove Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). This review has focused on bakuchiol's extraction, therapeutic applications, and pharmacological benefits. Methods A search strategy has been followed to retrieve the relevant newly published literature on the pharmacological benefits of bakuchiol. After an extensive study of the retrieved articles and maintaining the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 110 articles were finally selected for this review. Results Strong support of primary research on the protective effects via antitumorigenic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antimicrobial, and antiviral activities are delineated. Conclusions From ancient to modern life, medicinal plants have always been drawing the attention of human beings to alleviate ailments for a healthy and balanced lifestyle. This review is a comprehensive approach to highlighting bona fide essential pharmacological benefits and mechanisms underlying their therapeutic applications.

Abstract
Due to limited motor capabilities, people with upper limb disabilities have trouble utilizing a typical mouse while operating a computer. Different wearable Assistive Mouse Controllers (AMCs) have been developed to overcome their challenges. However, these people may not be able to realize the importance, ease of use, and social approval of these AMCs due to their fear of new technology, lack of confidence, and lack of ingenuity. These may negatively affect their attitude and intention toward accepting AMCs for equitable human-computer interaction. This study presents the development of a sensor-based head-mounted AMC, followed by an empirical analysis of its acceptance using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) from the socioeconomic perspective of Bangladesh. In a similar vein, we examined the effects of three additional psychological constructs-technology anxiety, confidence, and innovation, on its acceptance along with the original components of the TAM. A total of 150 individuals with stroke-induced upper limb disability participated in an online survey, and their responses were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling, following the general least square method. Analysis revealed, about 96.44% of the participants had positive attitude towards the AMC, and almost 88.56% of them had positive intentions to accept it. Furthermore, about 68.61% of them expressed signs of anxiety, 96.35% were confident, and 94.16% of them had an innovative mindset in terms of device usage. The findings imply that individuals with an innovative mentality are more capable of comprehending the practical implications of a new technology than those without one. It is also feasible to reduce technological anxiety and boost a user's confidence while using an AMC by combining an innovative mentality with straightforward device interaction techniques. Additionally, peer encouragement and motivation can significantly enhance their positive attitude towards accepting the AMC for facilitating their interaction with a computer.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study investigated the inequalities in access to maternal healthcare services in Bangladesh. DESIGN AND SETTING This study used cross-sectional data from the nationally representative Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey conducted in 2017-2018. The survey encompassed diverse regions and households across Bangladesh. The study used the Human Opportunity Index (HOI) and Shapley's decomposition technique to measure the inequality in access to maternal healthcare opportunities. PARTICIPANTS This study included 20 127 women aged 15-49 years. Among them, 5012 women had live births in the preceding 3 years of the survey, forming the study sample. PRIMARY AND SECONDARY OUTCOME MEASURES This study has no secondary outcome variable. The primary dependent variable is 'adequate maternal healthcare', a dichotomous variable. RESULTS Household wealth status contributed the highest to inequality in accessing adequate maternal healthcare services (41.4%) such as receiving at least four antenatal care (ANC) visits (39.7%), access to proper ANC (50.7% and 44.0%) and health facility birth (43.4%). Maternal educational status contributes the second highest inequality among all factors in accessing adequate maternal healthcare (29.5%). Adequate maternal healthcare presented the lowest coverage rate and opportunity index among all (approximately 24% with HOI=17.2). CONCLUSIONS We found that attained adequate maternal healthcare had the lowest coverage and widest dissimilarity, while wealth index, education and place of residence are the major factors that contribute to inequalities in accessibility to maternal healthcare services in Bangladesh. These findings underscore a need for pro-poor interventions to narrow the economic inequalities between the poor and rich in terms of accessibility to maternal healthcare services. The results indicate the need for the Bangladeshi government and its health department to strengthen their commitment to improving female education. Investments should be made in initiatives that facilitate the proximity of maternal healthcare services to women in rural areas.

Abstract
Type III secretion system (T3SS) effector proteins are primarily recognized for binding host proteins to subvert host immune response during infection. Besides their known host target proteins, several T3SS effectors also interact with endogenous bacterial proteins. Here we demonstrate that the Salmonella T3SS effector glycosyltransferase SseK1 glycosylates the bacterial two-component response regulator OmpR on two arginine residues, R15 and R122. Arg-glycosylation of OmpR results in reduced expression of ompF, a major outer membrane porin gene. Glycosylated OmpR has reduced affinity to the ompF promoter region, as compared to the unglycosylated form of OmpR. Additionally, the Salmonella ΔsseK1 mutant strain had higher bile salt resistance and increased capacity to form biofilms, as compared to WT Salmonella, thus linking OmpR glycosylation to several important aspects of bacterial physiology.

Abstract
Background Antibiotic resistance is a global challenge. Therefore, adhering to proper antibiotic administration protocols is essential to mitigating the problem. This study investigated the prevalence, and factors associated with, antibiotics administration without prescription by registered doctors in Bangladesh. Method This cross-sectional survey was carried out among 1102 adults. The outcome variable was antibiotics administration without prescription. The exploratory variables included the those relating to sociodemographics, attitudes, and knowledge (antibiotic-treatable diseases, types of disease specification, and antimicrobial drugs specifications). Descriptive and inferential statistics were performed, with a p-value of 0.05 considered significant with a 95% confidence interval. Results The prevalence of antibiotics administration without prescription was found to be 37.02%. Age was significantly associated with the administration of antibiotics without prescription. Those who had taken antibiotics in the previous 2 months reported a significantly higher prevalence of antibiotics administration without prescription. The participants' attitudes toward antibiotics and knowledge of antibiotic-treatable diseases, types of disease, and antimicrobial drugs were significantly associated with antibiotics administration without prescription. Conclusion These findings may assist in facilitating relevant initiatives to improve the magnitude of antibiotics utilization without prescription, and mitigate the emergence of antibiotic resistance in Bangladesh.

Abstract
Cadmium (Cd) pollution is an increasingly serious problem in crop production. Although significant progress has been made to comprehend the molecular mechanism of phytochelatins (PCs)-mediated Cd detoxification, the information on the hormonal regulation of PCs is very fragmentary. In the present study, we constructed TRV-COMT, TRV-PCS, and TRV-COMT-PCS plants to further assess the function of CAFFEIC ACID O-METHYLTRANSFERASE (COMT) and PHYTOCHELATIN SYNTHASE (PCS) in melatonin-induced regulation of plant resistance to Cd stress in tomato. Cd stress significantly decreased chlorophyll content and CO2 assimilation rate, but increased Cd, H2O2 and MDA accumulation in the shoot, most profoundly in PCs deficient TRV-PCS and TRV-COMT-PCS plants. Notably, Cd stress and exogenous melatonin treatment significantly increased endogenous melatonin and PC contents in non-silenced plants. Results also explored that melatonin could alleviate oxidative stress and enhance antioxidant capacity and redox homeostasis by conserving improved GSH:GSSG and ASA:DHA ratios. Moreover, melatonin improves osmotic balance and nutrient absorption by regulating the synthesis of PCs. This study unveiled a crucial mechanism of melatonin-regulated PC synthesis, persuaded Cd stress tolerance and nutrient balance in tomato, which may have potential implications for the enhancement of plant resistance to toxic heavy metal stress.

Background: HIV is a chronic disease with a profound social impact due to its strong ties with sexual and societal stigmatized behavior, such as illegal drug use and sexual promiscuity. Depression is one of the major disabling factors in chronic illnesses. Depression and anxiety disorders are more common among people living with HIV than the non-infected individuals. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of depression and its associated factors among people living with HIV/AIDS in Bangladesh. Methods: This cross-sectional study, which took place in Dhaka, Bangladesh, from July to December 2020, included 338 HIV-positive people. The method used was a simple random sampling technique. The Beck Depression Inventory assessed depression in HIV-positive people (BDI). Results: More than 62 percent of the 338 people surveyed had severe depression, 30.5 percent had moderate depression, 5.6 percent had mild depression, and 1.8 percent had no depression. Age, being a male, being married, and having a low monthly income were all significant predictors of depression. Conclusions: This study found that depressive symptoms are highly prevalent among HIV-positive patients in Bangladesh. The authors recommend that health care providers address depressive disorders for people with HIV/ AIDS comprehensively.

Here, we found that tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) plants treated with high atmospheric CO2 concentrations (600, 800, and 1000 µmol mol-1 ) accumulated increased levels of melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxy tryptamine) in their leaves and this response is conserved across many plant species, including Arabidopsis, rice, wheat, mustard, cucumber, watermelon, melon, and hot pepper. Elevated CO2 (eCO2 ; 800 µmol mol-1 ) caused a 6.8-fold increase in leaf melatonin content, and eCO2 -induced melatonin biosynthesis preferentially occurred through chloroplast biosynthetic pathways in tomato plants. Crucially, manipulation of endogenous melatonin levels by genetic means affected the eCO2 -induced accumulation of sugar and starch in tomato leaves. Furthermore, net photosynthetic rate, maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem II, and transcript levels of chloroplast- and nuclear-encoded photosynthetic genes, such as rbcL, rbcS, rbcA, psaD, petB, and atpA, significantly increased in COMT1 overexpressing (COMT1-OE) tomato plants, but not in melatonin-deficient comt1 mutants at eCO2 conditions. While eCO2 enhanced plant tolerance to heat stress (42°C) in wild-type and COMT1-OE, melatonin deficiency compromised eCO2 -induced thermotolerance in comt1 plants. The expression of heat shock proteins genes increased in COMT1-OE but not in comt1 plants in response to eCO2 under heat stress. Further analysis revealed that eCO2 -induced thermotolerance was closely linked to the melatonin-dependent regulation of reactive oxygen species, redox homeostasis, cellular protein protection, and phytohormone metabolism. This study unveiled a crucial mechanism of elevated CO2 -induced thermotolerance in which melatonin acts as an essential endogenous signaling molecule in tomato plants.

Abstract
The Computer-aided Diagnosis or Detection (CAD) approach for skin lesion analysis is an emerging field of research that has the potential to alleviate the burden and cost of skin cancer screening. Researchers have recently indicated increasing interest in developing such CAD systems, with the intention of providing a user-friendly tool to dermatologists to reduce the challenges encountered or associated with manual inspection. This article aims to provide a comprehensive literature survey and review of a total of 594 publications (356 for skin lesion segmentation and 238 for skin lesion classification) published between 2011 and 2022. These articles are analyzed and summarized in a number of different ways to contribute vital information regarding the methods for the development of CAD systems. These ways include: relevant and essential definitions and theories, input data (dataset utilization, preprocessing, augmentations, and fixing imbalance problems), method configuration (techniques, architectures, module frameworks, and losses), training tactics (hyperparameter settings), and evaluation criteria. We intend to investigate a variety of performance-enhancing approaches, including ensemble and post-processing. We also discuss these dimensions to reveal their current trends based on utilization frequencies. In addition, we highlight the primary difficulties associated with evaluating skin lesion segmentation and classification systems using minimal datasets, as well as the potential solutions to these difficulties. Findings, recommendations, and trends are disclosed to inform future research on developing an automated and robust CAD system for skin lesion analysis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Parents of premature infants engage in shared decision-making regarding the care of their infant. The process of prenatal counseling typically involves a verbal conversation with a neonatal provider during hospitalization. Support people may not be available, and the pregnant person's memory is impaired by medications, pain, and stress. The American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development have called for improvements to this process, including the development of educational aids. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate whether a multimedia tablet would be more effective than a paper handout in supplementing verbal clinician counseling during preterm birth hospitalization. STUDY DESIGN This was a randomized controlled trial including English-speaking pregnant people aged ≥18 years and hospitalized at 22 to 33 weeks' gestation for preterm birth. Exclusion criteria were known fetal or chromosomal anomaly and delivery before study completion. Pregnant people received either a multimedia tablet or a paper handout before verbal clinician counseling. Preintervention assessment included demographics and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and postintervention assessment included the Parent Knowledge of Premature Birth Questionnaire and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Continuous variables were analyzed by t-test and categorical variables by Fisher exact test. RESULTS A total of 122 pregnant people referred for counseling were screened; 76 were randomized, and 59 completed the study. Demographics were similar between groups, except that pregnant people in the handout group were older (mean 32 vs 29 years; P=.03). The multimedia tablet group (n=32) was less likely to report reviewing all the educational material than the paper handout group (n=27) (41% vs 72%; P=.037). Both groups correctly answered a similar number of knowledge items (P=.088). Postintervention state anxiety decreased in both groups (P<.0001), with no difference between groups. Computerized tracking showed that the multimedia group spent a median of 37 minutes reviewing the tablet. CONCLUSION Contrary to our hypothesis, a paper handout and multimedia tablet were equally effective in the labor unit for supplementing verbal preterm birth counseling, and both decreased parental anxiety.

Abstract
Optimizing the dose and foliar application frequency of growth regulators such as gibberellic acid (GA3) may play an important role in ensuring food security under changing climate scenarios by boosting grain yield of food legumes such as mungbean. A trial was conducted to evaluate the growth promoting effect of foliage applied gibberellic acid (GA3) at various spraying frequencies for mungbean crop. The employed treatments included four gibberellic acid levels (0, 100, 200, and 300 ppm) and two application frequencies (single spray at 30 days after sowing DAS, and two sprays at 30 and 40 DAS). Water relations, yield contributing characteristics and mungbean grain yield were among the response variables investigated. The research findings revealed that GA3 (200 ppm applied twice at pre-flowering and post-flowering stages) significantly improved the water relations, morphological and yield attributes of mungbean. This treatment combination remained unmatched by producing the highest relative water content in the stem (85.52), water retention capacity in the stem (17.24), and water uptake capacity in the stem and leaf (2.35). Furthermore, the same treatment combination resulted in the maximum plant height (50.04 cm), pods per plant (11.07), pod length (6.62 cm), grains number per pod (11.00), 100-grains weight (3.78 g), grain yield per plant (4.57 g), and a minimum water saturation deficit. Thus, GA3 foliage application at 200 ppm at 30 and 60 DAS has the potential to stimulate growth and increase the yield attributes and grain yield of mungbean. However, additional in-depth field trials with various doses of GA3 sprayed at a higher frequency may be required before recommending GA3 for general adoption to mungbean growers.

Abstract
The main objective of this study is to assess the impacts of cooking and indoor air quality (IAQ) in the southwestern region of Bangladesh. Here we report and compare the IAQ in considering a total of eight kitchens and living rooms of four selected households (HHs) in Jashore city and suburb area, the southwest district of Bangladesh. Air quality parameters, such as particulate matter (PM2.5) and volatile organic compounds (VOC), were assessed continuously for 24 h. In addition, Carbon dioxide (CO2) was evaluated in different phases during the study period. PM2.5, VOC, and CO2 levels were ranged from 18.52 to 207 μg/m3, 7.95-35.66 ppm, and 1061-2459 mg/m3, respectively, in the indoor cooking HHs. Conversely, while the average concentration was found between 20.63 and 23.72 μg/m3 PM2.5, 11.18-12.36 ppm VOC, and 1097-1747 mg/m3 CO2 in the outdoor cooking HHs. A significant increase in CO2 due to kitchen activities (cooking, frying, boiling) was observed that ranged between 5 and 77% compared to the background level. The calculated range of toxicity potential (TP) values was between 0.8 and 8.3 for PM2.5 in the HHs. In most of the observations, PM2.5, VOC, and CO2 exceed the standard values. The study reports that well ventilation systems and clean fuel use significantly reduce the indoor air contaminants level. Our study offers new insights about the IAQ of the southwest region of Bangladesh, particularly for suburbs and urban setups, and provides a background for further study, and decision-making. It will serve as a reference for the formulation and implementation of policies to improve air quality.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Social anxiety disorder (SAD) is prevalent among children and adolescents. Cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) has been used as the first-line treatment. However, evaluation of CBT conducted in a school setting has been scarce. OBJECTIVES This study aims to review the CBT and its effectiveness in the school setting for children and adolescents with SAD or social anxiety symptoms. Quality assessment on individual studies was conducted. METHODS Studies were identified through the search in PsycINFO, ERIC, PubMed and Medline targeting CBT conducted in a school setting with an aim to treat children and adolescents with SAD or social anxiety symptoms. Randomised controlled trials and quasi-experimental studies were selected. RESULTS A total of 7 studies met the inclusion criteria. Five studies were randomised controlled trials, and two were quasi-experimental studies with 2558 participants aged 6-16 years from 138 primary schools and 20 secondary schools. There were minor effects to reduce social anxiety symptoms for children and adolescents at post-intervention in 86% of the selected studies. Friend for Life (FRIENDS), Super Skills for Life (SSL) and Skills for Academic and Social Success (SASS) conducted in school were more effective than the control conditions. CONCLUSIONS There is a lack of quality of the evidence for FRIENDS, SSL and SASS, due to inconsistencies on the outcome assessments, statistical analyses, and the fidelity measures adopted in individual studies. Insufficient school funding and workforce with relevant health background, and the low level of parental involvement in the intervention would be the major challenges in school-based CBT for children and adolescents with SAD or social anxiety symptoms.

Abstract
Several drugs are now being tested as possible therapies due to the necessity of treating SARS-CoV-2 infection. Although approved vaccines bring much hope, a vaccination program covering the entire global population will take a very long time, making the development of effective antiviral drugs an effective solution for the immediate treatment of this dangerous infection. Previous studies found that three natural compounds, namely, tannic acid, 3-isotheaflavin-3-gallate and theaflavin-3,3-digallate, are effective proteinase (3CLpro) inhibitors of SARS-CoV (IC50 <10 µM). Based on this information and due to the high sequence identity between SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro, these three compounds could be candidate inhibitors of SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro. This paper explores the structural and energetic features that guided the molecular recognition of these three compounds for dimeric SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV 3CLpro, the functional state of this enzyme, using docking and MD simulations with the molecular mechanics-generalized-born surface area (MMGBSA) approach. Energetic analysis demonstrated that the three compounds reached good affinities in both systems in the following order: tannic acid > 3-isotheaflavin-3-gallate > theaflavin-3,3-digallate. This tendency is in line with that experimentally reported between these ligands and SARS-CoV 3CLpro. Therefore, tannic acid may have clinical usefulness against COVID-19 by acting as a potent inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. Sarma.

Abstract
The presence of conduction defects complicating acute myocardial infarction (MI) is relatively frequent and is associated with increased short and long term mortality. Thrombolytic therapy has been established to reduce the mortality in acute MI, however its role in reducing the incidence of conduction defects is less clearly defined. Morbidity and mortality associated with conduction defects also remain unchanged. This study was aimed to assess the correlation between conduction defects and adverse in-hospital outcome of patients with acute ST segment elevation MI. This cross sectional descriptive type of observational study was conducted among 100 purposively selected patients with acute ST segment elevation MI in the coronary care unit (CCU) of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, Bangladesh from June 2012 to March 2013. The patients were divided into two groups depending on the presence or absence of conduction defects namely Group A- 40 patients with conduction defects and Group B- 60 patients without conduction defects. Highest number of the patients (36.0%) was in the age group of 45-55 years. In case of inferior MI, age groups 45-55 years and 55-65 years had equal number of patients (30.4%). Only 2.0% patients were in age group of 75-85 years and this group had only inferior MI. Total number of female patients were 16(16.0%). Female patients had more inferior MI (17.4%) than anterior MI (15.9%). Number of MI patients was slightly more in inferior MI (46.0%) than anterior MI (44.0%). Group B had equal number of patients in both anterior and inferior MI. Conduction defects were more common in inferior MI (43.5%) than anterior MI (40.9%). Atrio-ventricular conduction defects were more common in inferior MI whereas intra-ventricular conduction defects were more common in anterior MI. Complete heart block (CHB) was more prevalent in inferior MI. Complications were more common in Group A (65.0%) than Group B (18.3%). In terms of complications the difference between two groups were significant (p<0.001). Group A showed higher rate of mortality (20.0%) than Group B (3.3%). In cases of anterior MI difference in mortality between Group A and Group B was highly significant (p<0.001). Conduction defects in the setting of acute MI are a common finding. Atrio-ventricular conduction defects occur more frequently in inferior MI whereas intra-ventricular conduction defects were more frequently encountered in anterior MI. Patients with conduction defects had more complications than those without conduction defects. Presence of conduction defects significantly increases the mortality of patients with anterior MI.

Abstract
Beginning with the outbreak of COVID-19 at the dawn of 2020, the continuing spread of the pandemic has challenged the healthcare market and the supply chain of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) around the world. Moreover, the emergence of the variants of COVID-19 occurring in waves threatens the sufficient supply of PPE. Among the various types of PPE, N95 Respirators, surgical masks, and medical gowns are the most consumed and thus have a high potential for a serious shortage during such emergencies. Considering the unanticipated demand for PPE during a pandemic, re-processing of used PPE is one approach to continue to protect the health of first responders and healthcare personnel. This paper evaluates the viability and efficacy of using FDA-approved electron beam (eBeam) sterilization technology (ISO 11137) to re-process used PPE. PPEs including 3M N95 Respirators, Proxima Sirus gowns, and face shields were eBeam irradiated in different media (air, argon) over a dose range of 0-200 kGy. Several tests were then performed to examine surface properties, mechanical properties, functionality performance, discoloration phenomenon, and liquid barrier performance. The results show a reduction of filtration efficiency to about 63.6% in the N95 Respirator; however, charge regeneration may improve the re-processed efficiency. Additionally, mechanical degradation was observed in Proxima Sirus gown with increasing dose up to 100 kGy. However, no mechanical degradation was observed in the face shields after 10 times donning and doffing. Apart from the face shield, N95 Respirators and Proxima Sirus gown both show significant mechanical degradation with ebeam dose over sterilization doses (>25 kGy), indicating that eBeam technology is not appropriate for the re-processing these PPEs.

Abstract
Diabetes is one of the most rapidly spreading diseases in the world, resulting in an array of significant complications, including cardiovascular disease, kidney failure, diabetic retinopathy, and neuropathy, among others, which contribute to an increase in morbidity and mortality rate. If diabetes is diagnosed at an early stage, its severity and underlying risk factors can be significantly reduced. However, there is a shortage of labeled data and the occurrence of outliers or data missingness in clinical datasets that are reliable and effective for diabetes prediction, making it a challenging endeavor. Therefore, we introduce a newly labeled diabetes dataset from a South Asian nation (Bangladesh). In addition, we suggest an automated classification pipeline that includes a weighted ensemble of machine learning (ML) classifiers: Naive Bayes (NB), Random Forest (RF), Decision Tree (DT), XGBoost (XGB), and LightGBM (LGB). Grid search hyperparameter optimization is employed to tune the critical hyperparameters of these ML models. Furthermore, missing value imputation, feature selection, and K-fold cross-validation are included in the framework design. A statistical analysis of variance (ANOVA) test reveals that the performance of diabetes prediction significantly improves when the proposed weighted ensemble (DT + RF + XGB + LGB) is executed with the introduced preprocessing, with the highest accuracy of 0.735 and an area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.832. In conjunction with the suggested ensemble model, our statistical imputation and RF-based feature selection techniques produced the best results for early diabetes prediction. Moreover, the presented new dataset will contribute to developing and implementing robust ML models for diabetes prediction utilizing population-level data.

Abstract
Concerning the ubiquity of social media, this research tried to examine the impacts of using Telegram on Iranian EFL learners' foreign language motivation, foreign language anxiety, and attitude toward learning. To achieve these purposes, 60 Iranian EFL learners at the intermediate level were selected and randomly divided into two groups: experimental and control. After that, both groups were pretested on motivation and anxiety variables. After pretesting, the participants in the experimental class received treatment via using the Telegram application, and the control students were trained traditionally without using any social media. After an 18-session instruction, a post-test of motivation and a post-test of anxiety were given to both groups, and also an attitude questionnaire was distributed among the experimental group to inspect their attitudes toward the Telegram application in language learning. The results of using two one-way ANCOVA tests showed significant differences between the post-tests of the control and experimental groups in favor of the experimental group. The findings demonstrated that using the Telegram application increased the motivation of the experimental group and decreased their level of foreign language anxiety. Also, the results of one sample t-test showed that the participants of the experimental group held positive attitudes toward using the Telegram application in English language learning. The implications of this research can encourage both teachers and learners to use social media-based instruments in English teaching and learning.

Abstract
Advancement of social media in the modern era provides a good incentive for researchers to unleash the potential of social networking (SN) tools in order to improve education. Despite the significant role of social media in affecting second/foreign language (L2) learning processes, few empirical studies have tried to find out how Instagram feed-based tasks affect learning grammar structure. To fill this lacuna of research, the current study set forth to delve into the influence of Instagram feed-based tasks on learning grammar among English as a foreign language (EFL) learners. In so doing, a sample of 84 intermediate EFL learners were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. The learners in the control group received regular online instruction via webinar platforms. In contrast, the learners in the experimental group were exposed to Instagram feed-based tasks. Data inspection applying one-way ANCOVA indicated that the learners in the experimental group outperformed their counterparts in the control group. The results highlighted the significant contributions of Instagram feed-based tasks in fostering learning grammar. Furthermore, EFL learners' positive attitudes toward using Instagram Feed-based Tasks in Learning Grammar was concluded. The implications of this study may redound to the benefits of language learners, teachers, curriculum designers, as well as policy makers in providing opportunities for further practice of Instagram feed-based tasks in language learning and teaching.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Health systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) can be strengthened when quality information on health worker performance is readily available. With increasing adoption of mobile health (mHealth) technologies in LMICs, there is an opportunity to improve work-performance and supportive supervision of workers. The objective of this study was to evaluate usefulness of mHealth usage logs (paradata) to inform health worker performance. METHODOLOGY This study was conducted at a chronic disease program in Kenya. It involved 23 health providers serving 89 facilities and 24 community-based groups. Study participants, who already used an mHealth application (mUzima) during clinical care, were consented and equipped with an enhanced version of the application that captured usage logs. Three months of log data were used to determine work performance metrics, including: (a) number of patients seen; (b) days worked; (c) work hours; and (d) length of patient encounters. PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Pearson correlation coefficient for days worked per participant as derived from logs as well as from records in the Electronic Medical Record system showed a strong positive correlation between the two data sources (r(11) = .92, p < .0005), indicating mUzima logs could be relied upon for analyses. Over the study period, only 13 (56.3%) participants used mUzima in 2,497 clinical encounters. 563 (22.5%) of encounters were entered outside of regular work hours, with five health providers working on weekends. On average, 14.5 (range 1-53) patients were seen per day by providers. CONCLUSIONS / SIGNIFICANCE mHealth-derived usage logs can reliably inform work patterns and augment supervision mechanisms made particularly challenging during the COVID-19 pandemic. Derived metrics highlight variabilities in work performance between providers. Log data also highlight areas of suboptimal use, of the application, such as for retrospective data entry for an application meant for use during the patient encounter to best leverage built-in clinical decision support functionality.

Abstract
Mobile technologies have drawn the attention of the researchers and are gaining popularity in a variety of academic backgrounds. However, there is currently unavailability of studies on the benefits that various mobile technologies give to learning results. The objective of this current study was to examine how the mobile assisted language programme, WhatsApp affected Bangladeshi tertiary level EFL learners’ vocabulary learning. The study included sixty-four EFL students who had intermediate level of English competency, and they were chosen using random sampling. After establishing the learners’ homogeneity with a vocabulary examination/test, the researchers separated the participants into two categories, namely experimental group (N = 34) and control (N = 30) group, and then their vocabulary knowledge (i.e., synonyms and antonyms) was assessed. The research involved 14 session treatment with the control group using the usual traditional method and the experimental section using WhatsApp to teach new words. A vocabulary post–test for the both classes was conducted after the completion of the course. In addition, both groups were given an attitude questionnaire to see how they felt about the traditional vocabulary acquisition method and utilizing the WhatsApp approach. According to the findings of this study, the experimental group performed better than the control group. Furthermore, as compared to the other group, learners who utilized WhatsApp to improve their vocabulary skills showed a more favourable attitude toward learning foreign language vocabulary. The current research would have further ramifications for English instructors, learners, researchers, and other stakeholders as well.

Abstract
Aortic valve sclerosis (AVS) represents a degenerative process that progresses with advancing age. The study was intended to find out the association between aortic valve sclerosis and the severity of CAD in patient's age ≤65 years with acute coronary syndrome. This cross-sectional analytical study was carried out in the department of cardiology, National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Dhaka, Bangladesh during a period of October 2017 to September 2018. A total of 140 Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients undergoing coronary angiogram during index hospitalization were included in the study. Study patients were divided into two groups on the basis of echocardiographic presence or absence of Aortic valve sclerosis (AVS), with 70 patients in each group. Group I was patients with aortic valve sclerosis and Group II was patients without aortic valve sclerosis. All patients underwent transthoracic echocardiography before they underwent coronary angiography on different days. Severity of CAD was determined by Gensini score and Vessel score. Association of traditional risk factors (smoking habit, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidaemia and family history of CAD) with severity of CAD was investigated. Coronary angiography showed that AVS group had a higher positive rate of CAD (82.9% vs. 54.3%, p<0.001) and incidence rate of triple vessel CAD (40% vs. 14.3%, p<0.001) than non-AVS group. Gensini score had higher in AVS group than non AVS group (37.9±27.8 vs. 12.5±14.2; p<0.001). Multivariate analysis showed that AVS (p=0.01) and age (p=0.04) were independent predictors of the presence of significant coronary artery disease. The study concluded that echocardiographically detected AVS is an independent predictor of coronary artery disease severity. There is positive correlation between severity of AVS and severity of CAD in patient's age ≤65 years with ACS.

Abstract
In recent years, diastolic dysfunction is an evolving context. Presence of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVDD) indicates a poor prognosis in patients with an ACS and chronic coronary artery diseases. This study evaluated the association of LVDD and angiographic severity of CAD in patients with non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI). This cross-sectional analytical study was carried out in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, Dhaka, Bangladesh, during the period of April 2017 to March 2018. A total of 120 NSTEMI patients undergoing coronary angiogram (CAG) during index hospitalization were included in the study. All patients underwent transthoracic echocardiography before they underwent CAG on different days. Presence (Group I, n=65) and absence of LVDD (Group II, n=55) was established by echocardiography. Severity of CAD was assessed by Vessel score and Leaman score. Association of traditional risk factors (smoking habit, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia and family history of CAD) with severity of CAD was investigated. Vessel score showed coronary artery obstruction (CAO) was present in 62(95.4%) patients in Group I and 35(63.6%) patients in Group II, single vessel was involved in 17(27.4%) patients while multi vessel in 45(72.6%) patients was found in Group I. On the contrary 27(77.1%) single vessel patients and 8(22.9%) multi vessel patients were found in Group II. Positive Leaman score was significantly higher in Group I, 62(95.4%) than that of Group II, 35(63.6%) which is statistically significant (p<0.001). This study showed a positive correlation between LVDD and CAD severity in terms of vessel score and Leamanscore. This study also demonstrates that the severity of vessel score and Leaman score was higher in the higher grade of diastolic dysfunction. The present study concludes that LVDD is associated with angiographically severe CAD in patients with NSTEMI.

Abstract
Log data, captured during use of mobile health (mHealth) applications by health providers, can play an important role in informing nature of user engagement with the application. The log data can also be employed in understanding health provider work patterns and performance. However, given that these logs are raw data, they require robust cleaning and curation if accurate conclusions are to be derived from analyzing them. This paper describes a systematic data cleaning process for mHealth-derived logs based on Broeck's framework, which involves iterative screening, diagnosis, and treatment of the log data. For this study, log data from the demonstrative mUzima mHealth application are used. The employed data cleaning process uncovered data inconsistencies, duplicate logs, missing data within logs that required imputation, among other issues. After the data cleaning process, only 39,229 log records out of the initial 91,432 usage logs (42.9%) could be included in the final dataset suitable for analyses of health provider work patterns. This work highlights the significance of having a systematic data cleaning approach for log data to derive useful information on health provider work patterns and performance.

Abstract
COVID-19 has imposed many challenges and barriers on traditional healthcare systems due to the high risk of being infected by the coronavirus. Modern electronic devices like smartphones with information technology can play an essential role in handling the current pandemic by contributing to different telemedical services. This study has focused on determining the presence of this virus by employing smartphone technology, as it is available to a large number of people. A publicly available COVID-19 dataset consisting of 33 features has been utilized to develop the aimed model, which can be collected from an in-house facility. The chosen dataset has 2.82% positive and 97.18% negative samples, demonstrating a high imbalance of class populations. The Adaptive Synthetic (ADASYN) has been applied to overcome the class imbalance problem with imbalanced data. Ten optimal features are chosen from the given 33 features, employing two different feature selection algorithms, such as K Best and recursive feature elimination methods. Mainly, three classification schemes, Random Forest (RF), eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGB), and Support Vector Machine (SVM), have been applied for the ablation studies, where the accuracy from the XGB, RF, and SVM classifiers achieved 97.91%, 97.81%, and 73.37%, respectively. As the XGB algorithm confers the best results, it has been implemented in designing the Android operating system base and web applications. By analyzing 10 users’ questionnaires, the developed expert system can predict the presence of COVID-19 in the human body of the primary suspect. Abstract
Background: E-learning is making education globally and conveniently attainable with the deliverance of advanced technology. However, this mode of academia is still not commonly practiced locally. Thus, the study aimed to investigate technological availability, usability, and association to university students' perceived stress due to e-learning curriculum. Methods: A cross-sectional study commenced among Bangladeshi university students enrolled in the e-learning curriculum.
A total of 1162 university students were included. The main explanatory variables were related to the availability of technology and the use of technology. The outcome variable was perceived e-learning stress. In statistical analysis,
p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant with a 95% confidence interval. Results: In this study, lack of technological availability and usability were associated with higher level of perceived e-learning stress. Being female, living in rural areas, and outside of Dhaka division were found the associated factors in the lack of technological availability and usability. Conclusions: A significant association between the availability and usability of technology with perceived e-learning stress was observed. Thus, measures should be taken to initialize e-learning adaptivity by increasing technological growth across the nation, considering educational preparedness for future catastrophes.

Abstract
Purpose The main purpose of this study is to assess the effects of COVID-19 on the restaurant businesses of Bangladesh. It examines the socio-economic impacts of the humanitarian disaster of the COVID-19 pandemic from the perspective of restaurant owners. The study also intends to provide recommendations to mitigate effects on the restaurant business. Design/Methodology/Approach A qualitative research approach was adopted to explore the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the restaurant businesses of Bangladesh. A total of 22 in-depth interviews were conducted with the top-ranked restaurant owners in the Rajshahi City Corporation area of Bangladesh. Thematic analysis technique was applied for analyzing the collected data. Findings The study found that the restaurant owners were compelled to reduce their number of employees, and forced to ensure social distancing and proper sanitization which increased the expenses. Although online orders and home delivery services have increased significantly, restaurant business operation is gradually turning critical owing to the lack of financial support. Thus, restaurant owners urge the govenrment for financial assistance. Research Limitations/Implications Since this research only focused on one city in Bangladesh, the outcomes of study may have a dearth of generalizability. Hence, the investigators are encouraged to extend the study area. Practical Implications This study will help restaurant owners and policymakers in formulating contemporary business policies and strategies. Thus, it will be supportive of improving the present condition of the restaurant businesses in developing countries like Bangladesh. Originality/Value This paper identified the truculent scenario of the restaurant business during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
We are interested in identifying and characterizing small molecule inhibitors of bacterial virulence factors for their potential use as anti-virulence inhibitors. We identified from high-throughput screening assays a potential activity for avasimibe, a previously characterized acyl-coenzyme A: cholesterol acyltransferase inhibitor, in inhibiting the NleB and SseK arginine glycosyltransferases from Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica, respectively. Avasimibe inhibited the activity of the Citrobacter rodentium NleB, E. coli NleB1, and S. enterica SseK1 enzymes, without affecting the activity of the human serine/threonine N-acetylglucosamine (O-GlcNAc) transferase. Avasimibe was not toxic to mammalian cells at up to 200 µM and was neither bacteriostatic nor bactericidal at concentrations of up to 125 µM. Doses of 10 µM avasimibe were sufficient to reduce S. enterica abundance in RAW264.7 macrophage-like cells, and intraperitoneal injection of avasimibe significantly reduced C. rodentium survival in mice, regardless of whether the avasimibe was administered pre- or post-infection. We propose that avasimibe or related derivates created using synthetic chemistry may have utility in preventing or treating bacterial infections by inhibiting arginine glycosyltransferases that are important to virulence.

Abstract
This paper reports a plasma reactive oxygen species (ROS) method for decontamination of PPE (N95 respirators and gowns) using a surface DBD source to meet the increased need of PPE due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A system is presented consisting of a mobile trailer (35 m3) along with several Dielectric barrier discharge sources installed for generating a plasma ROS level to achieve viral decontamination. The plasma ROS treated respirators were evaluated at the CDC NPPTL, and additional PPE specimens and material functionality testing were performed at Texas A&M. The effects of decontamination on the performance of respirators were tested using a modified version of the NIOSH Standard Test Procedure TEB-APR-STP-0059 to determine particulate filtration efficiency. The treated Prestige Ameritech and BYD brand N95 respirators show filtration efficiencies greater than 95% and maintain their integrity. The overall mechanical and functionality tests for plasma ROS treated PPE show no significant variations.

Abstract
Sexually transmitted infections (STI) symptoms (e.g., abnormal genital discharge and genital sores/ulcers) are a major public health concern in Bangladesh because the symptoms can indicate an STI and cause sexual and reproductive health complications in women of reproductive age. To our knowledge, no study examined the prevalence and risk factors of STI symptoms using a nationally representative sample. This study investigates the prevalence of STI symptoms among ever-married women in Bangladesh and the associations of STI symptoms with various demographic, socioeconomic, and behavioral risk factors using the most recent available data (2007, 2011, and 2014) of the Bangladesh Demographic and Health Surveys (BDHS). The BDHS employs a two-stage stratified sampling technique. The analytic sample comprised 41,777 women of reproductive age (15-49 years). Outcome variables included STI symptoms: abnormal genital discharge and genital sores/ulcers. Multivariate logistic regression was employed to find the adjusted odds ratio with a 95% confidence interval to assess the associations of outcome measures with explanatory variables. The study found that the prevalence of abnormal genital discharge and genital sores/ulcers among ever-married women aged 15-49 years was 10% and 6%, respectively. Multivariable analysis revealed that for women aged 25-34 years, those who used contraceptives and married earlier had an increased likelihood of STI symptoms. Furthermore, women from the wealthiest wealth quintile and couple's joint decision-making were less likely to have STI symptoms. Findings have implications for interventions efforts aiming to improve women's sexual and reproductive health in Bangladesh.

Abstract
Neurotoxicity is a serious health problem of patients chronically exposed to arsenic. There is no specific treatment of this problem. Oxidative stress has been implicated in the pathological process of neurotoxicity. Polyphenolics have proven antioxidant activity, thereby offering protection against oxidative stress. In this study, we have isolated the polyphenolics from Acacia nilotica and investigated its effect against arsenic-induced neurotoxicity and oxidative stress in mice. Acacia nilotica polyphenolics prepared from column chromatography of the crude methanol extract using diaion resin contained a phenolic content of 452.185 ± 7.879 mg gallic acid equivalent/gm of sample and flavonoid content of 200.075 ± 0.755 mg catechin equivalent/gm of sample. The polyphenolics exhibited potent antioxidant activity with respect to free radical scavenging ability, total antioxidant activity and inhibition of lipid peroxidation. Administration of arsenic in mice showed a reduction of acetylcholinesterase activity in the brain which was counteracted by Acacia nilotica polyphenolics. Similarly, elevation of lipid peroxidation and depletion of glutathione in the brain of mice was effectively restored to normal level by Acacia nilotica polyphenolics. Gallic acid methyl ester, catechin and catechin-7-gallate were identified in the polyphenolics as the major active compounds. These results suggest that Acacia nilotica polyphenolics due to its strong antioxidant potential might be effective in the management of arsenic induced neurotoxicity.

Abstract
Morphological knowledge has been established as a critical sub-skill in the learning of bilingual reading and a strong predictor of spelling, word reading, and reading comprehension skills. The goal of this study was to investigate the prediction of morphological knowledge to reading comprehension in 185 university-level English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students, using the four primary derivatives of morphological knowledge (i.e. adverb, adjective, verb, and noun). The current study, which took a quantitative method, used multiple regression analysis to analyse two English competence tests, i.e. a reading comprehension test and a morphological knowledge test. The findings indicated that verb derivative form statistically and significantly predicted the reading comprehension most. Additionally, the verb word class affected greatly in elucidating the dependent variable, namely reading comprehension, followed by the adverbial derivative form, the adjective word class, and the noun derivative form of morphological knowledge. Further consequences of the current study's findings will be felt by English language teachers, curriculum designers, and academics.

Abstract
Here, we report the rediscovery of Coelops frithii in the pristine mangrove forest of Sundarbans Forest Reserve in Khulna division of Bangladesh. A dead individual of adult female was collected and identified to species based on morphological features and skull measurements (FA: 41.28 mm, GTL: 17.52 mm, CCL: 15.58 mm). This finding represents the first record from the type locality one and a half century after Blyth (1848) first described the species. C. frithii is considered near threaten in the IUCN Red List. The confirmed occurrence through this record calls for future systematic surveys of this species within the Sundarbans.

Background
Around 5.29% of the world population is suffering from ADHD, and 60 million people are suffering from CVS, with an increasing rate of prevalence of these disorders. This study aimed to determine the prevalence rate of ADHD and CVS symptoms among the Bangladeshi population.
Results
To assess the aim of the study, a cross-sectional survey was conducted online through stratified sampling, and 197 responses were collected from the participants. Our survey method follows these criteria where the ARSV1.1 standard questionnaire was followed for the ADHD questionnaire, and a self-administered questionnaire was established based on the symptoms of CVS. The male age ranges from 18–24 have the highest value of ADHD (34%) coincided with > 6 h digital device usage (51%), and the Stroop effect is significantly correlated with the ADHD score (0.498, p < 0.01). The Stroop effect value is also higher among the males aged 18–24, digital device users for > 6 h (48%).
Conclusions
With the advent of science, it is impossible to avoid digital devices as necessary. Notwithstanding, safe and appropriate use of digital media is a must for healthy living.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Mucormycosis, a severe fungal infection, is an emerging public health concern during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to investigate the perception of mucormycosis among Bangladeshi healthcare workers. RESULTS An exploratory cross-sectional study was carried out among the Bangladeshi healthcare workers from May 25, 2021, to June 5, 2021. The study found 422 responses from the healthcare workers of Bangladesh. Among the respondents, nearly half of them (45.26%) were doctors (n = 191). This study explored that the healthcare workers' mucormycosis perception scores were significantly associated with their age, gender, profession, monthly income, marital status, job type, and death of friends and family members due to COVID-19. CONCLUSIONS This study emphasized the healthcare workers' mucormycosis perception along with other associated factors. The findings could help policymakers to mitigate mucormycosis and related infectious diseases emergencies in the post-COVID-19 situation.

Abstract
From April 2018 to October 2019, we continued active surveillance for influenza viruses in Bangladeshi live poultry markets (LPMs) and in Tanguar Haor, a wetland region of Bangladesh where domestic ducks have frequent contact with migratory birds. The predominant virus subtypes circulating in the LPMs were low pathogenic avian influenza (LPAI) H9N2 and clade 2.3.2.1a highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 viruses of the H5N1-R1 genotype, like those found in previous years. Viruses of the H5N1-R2 genotype, which were previously reported as co-circulating with H5N1-R1 genotype viruses in LPM, were not detected. In addition to H9N2 viruses, which were primarily found in chicken and quail, H2N2, H3N8 and H11N3 LPAI viruses were detected in LPMs, exclusively in ducks. Viruses in domestic ducks and/or wild birds in Tanguar Haor were more diverse, with H1N1, H4N6, H7N1, H7N3, H7N4, H7N6, H8N4, H10N3, H10N4 and H11N3 detected. Phylogenetic analyses of these LPAI viruses suggested that some were new to Bangladesh (H2N2, H7N6, H8N4, H10N3 and H10N4), likely introduced by migratory birds of the Central Asian flyway. Our results show a complex dynamic of viral evolution and diversity in Bangladesh based on factors such as host populations and geography. The LPM environment was characterised by maintenance of viruses with demonstrated zoonotic potential and H5N1 genotype turnover. The wetland environment was characterised by greater viral gene pool diversity but a lower overall influenza virus detection rate. The genetic similarity of H11N3 viruses in both environments demonstrates that LPM and wetlands are connected despite their having distinct influenza ecologies.
