Abstract
BACKGROUND The mortality is significantly higher in patients undergoing maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) than in the general population. It is well-known that vascular access (VA) is critical for MHD patients. But the association between VA satisfaction and all-cause mortality in MHD patients is still not clear. The aim of this study was to explore the relationship between VA satisfaction and all-cause mortality in MHD patients with a 30-month follow-up. METHODS Two hundred twenty-nine MHD patients in two dialysis centers were enrolled in this observational prospective study. VA satisfaction was assessed using the Short Form Vascular Access Questionnaire (VAQ). Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) score was calculated with Short Form 36 (SF-36) questionnaire. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the influencing factors of all-cause mortality. RESULTS During the 30-month follow-up period, 35 patients dropped out of the study. Among them, 31 patients died, and 4 patients stopped MHD treatment after renal transplantation. Multivariable analyses showed that the age, VAQ total score, social functioning score and dialysis-related complication score of the VAQ, the total score and MCS of the SF-36 were factors influencing all-cause mortality in MHD patients. The Kaplan-Meier curve further showed that the cumulative survival probability was significantly higher in the MHD patients with VAQ scores <7 at baseline than in patients with VAQ scores ⩾7 (p = 0.031). INCLUSION The present study showed that VA satisfaction was significantly associated with all-cause mortality in MHD patients. These findings suggest that a holistic approach is required for VA choice.

Abstract
Objective Aloperine (ALO) is an effective quinolizidine alkaloid. Previous research has demonstrated its antiarrhythmic effect by inhibiting voltage-gated sodium currents in rat ventricular myocytes. This study explored its effect on transient outward potassium currents (Ito) in rat atrial myocytes to identify potential targets in the context of ion channel currents. Methods The Ito characteristics in rat atrial myocytes were recorded using a whole-cell patch-clamp technique. Molecular docking was performed to validate ligand-protein binding interactions. Results ALO at concentrations of 3 and 10 μM significantly reduced Ito current densities. Gating kinetics analysis revealed ALO's ability to slow Ito activation, hasten inactivation, and prolong transition from inactive to resting state. Molecular docking revealed that ALO could stably bind to KCND2. Conclusion ALO may inhibit Ito by slowing the activation process, accelerating inactivation, and delaying the recovery time after inactivation, potentially preventing acetylcholine-induced AF.

Abstract
Transition metal oxides with the merits of high theoretical capacities, natural abundance, low cost, and environmental benignity have been regarded as a promising anodic material for lithium ion batteries (LIBs). However, the severe volume expansion upon cycling and poor conductivity limit their cycling stability and rate capability. To address this issue, NiO embedded and N-doped porous carbon nanorods (NiO@NCNR) and nanotubes (NiO@NCNT) are synthesized by the metal-catalyzed graphitization and nitridization of monocrystalline Ni(II)-triazole coordinated framework and Ni(II)/melamine mixture, respectively, and the following oxidation in air. When applied as an anodic material for LIBs, the NiO@NCNR and NiO@NCNT hybrids exhibit a decent capacity of 895/832 mA h g-1 at 100 mA g-1, high rate capability of 484/467 mA h g-1 at 5.0 A g-1, and good long-term cycling stability of 663/634 mA h g-1 at 600th cycle at 1 A g-1, which are much better than those of NiO@carbon black (CB) control sample (701, 214, and 223 mA h g-1). The remarkable electrochemical properties benefit from the advanced nanoarchitecture of NiO@NCNR and NiO@NCNT, which offers a length-controlled one-dimensional porous carbon nanoarchitecture for effective e-/Li+ transport, affords a flexible carbon skeleton for spatial confinement, and forms abundant nanocavities for stress buffering and structure reinforcement during discharge/charging processes. The rational structural design and synthesis may pave a way for exploring advanced metal oxide based anodic materials for next-generation LIBs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Vascular access (VA) is known to be critical for the survival of patients on maintained hemodialysis (MHD) treatment. However, the association between VA satisfaction and psychiatric state in MHD patients is still not fully elucidated. Thus, the aim of this study is to evaluate the relationship among VA satisfaction, health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and depression in MHD patients with different VA types. METHODS This cross-sectional study was conducted at two dialysis centers with MHD-dependent patients. The Short Form Vascular Access Questionnaire (VAQ) was administered to estimate the level of MHD patients' satisfaction with their VA. HRQOL was assessed using the Short Form 36 (SF-36) questionnaire. Depression was assessed using the Zung's self-rating depression scale (SDS). RESULTS Of the total 252 patients, AVF was used by 84.13%, AVG was used by 2.78%, and TCC was used by 13.09%. There was no significant difference in satisfaction and SDS scores by access type in patients with AVF, AVG, and TCC. However, HRQOL was worst in patients with TCC, and highest in the AVF group. Further analysis showed that VAQ scores in the domains of overall and dialysis-related complications exhibited a negative correlation with HRQOL. And SF-36 HRQOL scores, including the total score, PCS and MCS, were all negatively correlated with SDS scores (p < 0.05). The results of multivariable analyses found that VAQ scores in the domains of overall score and physical symptom, and total score of HRQOL influenced the depression. CONCLUSIONS In the present study, no significant difference in satisfaction scores by access type was found in patients with AVF, AVG, and TCC. The HRQOL score was higher in patients with AVF than in those with AVG or TCC. And the result suggested a negative association between HRQOL and depression. Vascular access satisfaction and HRQOL might be risk factors for the presence of depression in MHD patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The development and progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have been reported to be associated with immune-related genes and the tumor microenvironment. Nevertheless, there are not enough prognostic biomarkers and models available for clinical use. Based on seven prognostic genes, this study calculated overall survival in patients with HCC using a prognostic survival model and revealed the immune status of the tumor microenvironment (TME). AIM To develop a novel immune cell-related prognostic model of HCC and depict the basic profile of the immune response in HCC. METHODS We obtained clinical information and gene expression data of HCC from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) datasets. TCGA and ICGC datasets were used for screening prognostic genes along with developing and validating a seven-gene prognostic survival model by weighted gene coexpression network analysis and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression with Cox regression. The relative analysis of tumor mutation burden (TMB), TME cell infiltration, immune checkpoints, immune therapy, and functional pathways was also performed based on prognostic genes. RESULTS Seven prognostic genes were identified for signature construction. Survival receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed the good performance of survival prediction. TMB could be regarded as an independent factor in HCC survival prediction. There was a significant difference in stromal score, immune score, and estimate score between the high-risk and low-risk groups stratified based on the risk score derived from the seven-gene prognostic model. Several immune checkpoints, including VTCN1 and TNFSF9, were found to be associated with the seven prognostic genes and risk score. Different combinations of checkpoint blockade targeting inhibitory CTLA4 and PD1 receptors and potential chemotherapy drugs hold great promise for specific HCC therapies. Potential pathways, such as cell cycle regulation and metabolism of some amino acids, were also identified and analyzed. CONCLUSION The novel seven-gene (CYTH3, ENG, HTRA3, PDZD4, SAMD14, PGF, and PLN) prognostic model showed high predictive efficiency. The TMB analysis based on the seven genes could depict the basic profile of the immune response in HCC, which might be worthy of clinical application.

Abstract
Nivolumab can cause fatal myocarditis. We aimed to analyze the clinical characteristics of nivolumab-induced myocarditis and provide evidence for clinical diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Studies involving nivolumab-induced myocarditis were identified in electronic databases from 2000 to 2023 for retrospective analysis. A total of 66 patients were included, with a median age of 68 years. The median onset time of myocarditis is 11.5 days. The main organs affected in persons presented with myocarditis are heart (100.0%) and skeletal muscle (22.7%). The main clinical manifestations are dyspnea (49.2%), fatigue (47.6%), and myalgias (25.4%). The levels of troponin, troponin T, troponin I, creatine kinase, creatine kinase myocardial band, creatine phosphokinase, C-reactive protein, brain natriuretic peptide, and N-terminal brain natriuretic peptide precursor were significantly increased. Histopathology often shows lymphocyte infiltration, myocardial necrosis, and fibrosis. Myocardial immunological parameters usually present positive. Cardiac imaging often suggests complete heart block, intraventricular conduction delay, arrhythmia, myocardial infarction, edema, left ventricular ejection fractions reduction, ventricular dysfunction, and other symptoms of myocarditis. Forty-two (63.6%) patients achieved remission within a median time of 8 days after discontinuation of nivolumab and treatment with systemic corticosteroids, immunoglobulins, plasmapheresis, and immunosuppressant. Thirty-five patients eventually died attributed to myocarditis (68.6%), cancer (20.0%), respiratory failure (5.7%), and other reasons (5.7%). Nivolumab-induced myocarditis should be comprehensively diagnosed based on clinical symptoms, histopathological manifestations, immunological parameters, and cardiac function imaging examinations. Nivolumab should be discontinued immediately, plasmapheresis and systemic corticosteroids combined with immunoglobulins or immunosuppressants may be an effective treatment.

Abstract
ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE Huzhangqingmaiyin (HZQMY) is a Chinese medicine formula used to treat small vessel disease, but the mechanism is unclear. AIM OF THE STUDY This study aimed to reveal the protective effects of HZQMY on human brain microvascular endothelial cells (HBMECs) and explore the potential targets and mechanistic pathways using network pharmacology on treating cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). MATERIALS AND METHODS HBMECs were cultured in vitro and an endothelial cell injury model was constructed by hypoxia for 12 h followed by reoxygenation for 8 h (H/R). Cell viability was measured by CCK-8 assay, migration ability of cells was detected by scratch assay, angiogenesis ability of endothelial cells was detected by tubulogenesis assay. Meanwhile, JC-1 staining was employed to determine the alteration of mitochondrial membrane potential, and finally, cell apoptosis was assessed by flow cytometry. To further explore the mechanism of action of HZQMY, the target proteins of a candidate active compound was first collected from the traditional Chinese medicine systems pharmacology database with analytical platform and Swiss target prediction database (www.swisstargetprediction.ch) by HPLC/MS determination of its main active components. CSVD associated targets were retrieved from four disease associated targets databases, OMIM, DisGenNET, GeneCards and GeneCLip, respectively. Using the website String, the genes overlapped between HZQMY and CSVD were imported into the database, PPI network plots were drawn using Cytoscape software. GO and KEGG analyses were performed to explore the possible pathways and targets of HZQMY. Its most probable targets were further explored with molecular docking and verified. RESULTS HZQMY at 0.5-2 μg/mL concentration range could promote cell proliferation, cell migration, angiogenesis, reduce mitochondrial membrane potential damage as well as inhibit apoptosis. Besides that, 29 active compounds were detected from HZQMY, including key components such as quercetin, polydatin, kaempferol, isorhamnetin and resveratrol. Core targets that might include IL-1β、ICAM-1、VCAM-1 and VEGF and so on. CONCLUSIONS HZQMY could regulate the levels of key targets such as IL-1β、ICAM-1、VCAM-1 and VEGF, so as to achieve the purpose of treating CSVD.

Abstract
PURPOSE Extensively-drug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria (XDR GNB)-related post-neurosurgical infection is closely related to mortality, which represents a major challenge for neurosurgeons. There is an urgent need to review and evaluate methods to reduce mortality. METHODS Both international and Chinese databases were searched independently from their inception to 15 June 2023. A meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.4 to compare the efficacy and safety of intravenous (IV) treatment in combination with intrathecal or intraventricular (ITH/IVT) treatment with IV treatment alone for post-neurosurgical meningitis or ventriculitis due to GNB. Mortality, microbiological clearance and adverse events were considered as primary outcomes. RESULTS In total, 18 eligible studies involving 602 patients were included in the meta-analysis. The IV + ITH/IVT group was associated with significantly lower mortality (especially in the XDR GNB subgroup) and acceptable safety. In terms of microbiological clearance, a significant decrease was shown in the XDR GNB subgroup. Significant benefits were shown in laboratory parameters and clinical symptoms after patients were treated with ITH/IVT. CONCLUSION Additional ITH/IVT treatment may promote XDR GNB clearance and reduce mortality. In addition, ITH/IVT administration can improve clinical symptoms and cerebrospinal fluid indicators of patients with post-neurosurgical infections. Significantly, ITH/IVT treatment does not increase the incidence of adverse events at the recommended dose.

Abstract
CONTEXT Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. et Zucc (Polygonaceae), the root of which is included in the Chinese Pharmcopoeia under the name 'Huzhang', has a long history as a medicinal plant and vegetable. Polygonum cuspidatum has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of inflammation, hyperlipemia, etc. OBJECTIVE This article reviews the pharmacological action and the clinical applications of Polygonum cuspidatum and its extracts, whether in vivo or in vitro. We also summarized the main phytochemical constituents and pharmacokinetics of Polygonum cuspidatum and its extracts. METHODS The data were retrieved from major medical databases, such as CNKI, PubMed, and SinoMed, from 2014 to 2022. Polygonum cuspidatum, pharmacology, toxicity, clinical application, and pharmacokinetics were used as keywords. RESULTS The rhizomes, leaves, and flowers of Polygonum cuspidatum have different phytochemical constituents. The plant contains flavonoids, anthraquinones, and stilbenes. Polygonum cuspidatum and the extracts have anti-inflammatory, antioxidation, anticancer, heart protection, and other pharmacological effects. It is used in the clinics to treat dizziness, headaches, traumatic injuries, and water and fire burns. CONCLUSIONS Polygonum cuspidatum has the potential to treat many diseases, such as arthritis, ulcerative colitis, asthma, and cardiac hypertrophy. It has a broad range of medicinal applications, but mainly focused on root medication; its aerial parts should receive more attention. Pharmacokinetics also need to be further investigated.

Abstract
Background and Aims Prolyl endopeptidase (PREP) is a serine endopeptidase that participates in many pathological processes including inflammation, oxidative stress, and autophagy. Our previous studies found that PREP knockout exhibited multiple benefits in high-fat diet (HFD) or methionine choline-deficient diet-induced metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). However, cumulative studies have suggested that PREP performs complex functions during disease development. Therefore, further understanding the role of PREP in MAFLD development is the foundation of PREP intervention. Methods In this study, an HFD-induced MAFLD model at different time points (4, 8, 12, and 16 weeks) was used to explore dynamic changes in the PREP proline-glycine-proline (PGP)/N-acetyl-seryl-aspartyl-lysyl-proline (AcSDKP) system. To explore its potential value in MAFLD treatment, saline, or the PREP inhibitor, KYP-2047, was administered to HFD-induced MAFLD mice from the 10th to 16th weeks. Results PREP activity and expression were increased in HFD-mice compared with control mice from the 12th week onwards, and increased PREP mainly resulted in the activation of the matrix metalloproteinase 8/9 (MMP8/9)-PREP-PGP axis rather than the thymosin β4-meprin α/PREP-AcSDKP axis. In addition, KYP-2047 reduced HFD-induced liver injury and oxidative stress, improved lipid metabolism through the suppression of lipogenic genes and the induction of β-oxidation-related genes, and attenuated hepatic inflammation by decreasing MMP8/9 and PGP. Moreover, KYP2047 restored HFD-induced impaired autophagy and this was verified in HepG2 cells. Conclusions These findings suggest that increased PREP activity/expression during MAFLD development might be a key factor in the transition from simple steatosis to steatohepatitis, and KYP-2047 might possess therapeutic potential for MAFLD treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the clinical characteristics of patients with rheumatic diseases and abnormal liver function, as well as determine the proportion and severity of liver function abnormalities. Methods: Cross-sectional study. Data were collected from patients registered in the Chinese Rheumatism Date Center from 2011 to 2021. The rheumatic diseases analyzed in this study were rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Sjogren syndrome (SS), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), and gout. Patient data, including demographic characteristics [ such as age, sex, body mass index,(BMI), and smoking history], liver function test results [including alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase(ALP), and total bilirubin], and use of anti-rheumatic immune drugs and liver-protective drugs, were collected and compared between groups with normal and abnormal liver functions. In addition, the proportions of abnormal liver function were compared between sex and age groups. Results: A total of 116 308 patients were included in this study, including 49 659 with RA, 17 597 with SLE, 9 039 with SS, 11 321 with AS, and 28 692 with gout. The lowest proportion of liver function abnormalities was observed in patients with RA[11.02% (5 470/49 659)], followed by those with SS[17.97% (1 624/9 039)] and AS [18.22% (2 063/11 321) ], whereas patients with SLE [21.14% (3 720/17 597) ] and gout [28.73% (8 242/28 692)] exhibited the highest proportion of these abnormalities. Elevated ALT, mostly classified as grade 1, was the most commonly noted liver function abnormality, whereas elevated ALP was the least common. Some patients who took liver-protective drugs had normal liver function, with the lowest percentage observed in patients with gout [7.45% (36/483) ] and ranging from 21.7% to 30.34% in patients with RA, SLE, SS, and AS. The proportion of liver function abnormalities was higher in males than in females for all disease types [RA: 13.8%(1 368/9 906) vs. 10.3%(4 102/39 753); SLE: 33.6% (479/1 424) vs. 20.0% (3 241/16 173); SS: 25.4%(111/437) vs. 17.6%(1 513/8 602); AS: 20.1%(1 629/8 119) vs. 13.6% (434/3 202); and gout: 29.3% (8 033/27 394) vs. 16.1% (209/1 298)]. In RA, SLE, and AS, the proportions of liver function abnormalities were similar across all age groups. In SS, the proportion of liver function abnormalities increased with age [<40 years: 14.9%(294/1 979); 40-59 years: 18.1%(858/4 741); ≥60 years: 20.4%(472/2 319)], whereas a reversal of this trend was observed in gout [<40 years: 34.9%(4 294/12 320); 40-59 years: 25.5%(2 905/11 398);≥60 years: 21.0%(1 042/4 971)]. Conclusions: The proportions of combined liver function abnormalities in patients with rheumatologic diseases were high, and the utilization rates of liver-protective drugs were low. It is necessary to pay more attention to monitoring patients' liver function, timely administer liver-protective drugs, and optimize liver-protective regimens during the treatment of rheumatic diseases.

Abstract
Introduction Online education has become increasingly popular during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite its potential for breaking down environmental, geographic, time, and space constraints, many scholars have found that online education still has much room for development. Online physical education, and especially dance education, face challenges due to the high demands of physical interactions and safety requirements. However, only a few scholars have explored the psychological motivations in the context of higher education dance students. Therefore, this study enriches this stream of literature by investigating the motivations of students' intention to use online dance learning. Methods Structural equation modeling is performed in this study. Empirical data were collected from China to examine the relationship between constructs. This study uses self-determination theory to build a theoretical framework and deeply explore the psychological factors that affect students' attitudes and behavior towards online dance learning. Based on self-determination theory and perceived value theory, the study investigates the interrelationships among the seven latent structures: perceived autonomy on flexibility, perceived online class arrangement competence, perceived usage competence, perceived relatedness with instructors, attitudes, perceived value, and intention to use online dance education. Results The structural equation modelling results indicate that perceived autonomy, perceived competence, and perceived relatedness have a positive influence on attitudes, and attitudes have a positive influence on perceived value and the intention to use online dance education. All hypotheses proposed in the theoretical framework are supported by the empirical data analysis. Discussion This study extends the self-determination theory to the online dance education context, providing a new perspective for understanding students' motivation to use online dance classes. The research results also provide theoretical support and management inspiration for the sustainable development of art and physical higher education, particularly online dance education.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the feature and treatment of atrial tachycardia (AT) originated from right atrial appendage (RAA) in children. Methods: The data of 42 children with AT originated from RAA, who were admitted the First Hospital of Tsinghua University from January 2010 to September 2022 were analyzed retrospectively.The clinical characteristics, treatment and efficacy were analyzed. The children were divided into tachycardia cardiomyopathy group and normal cardiac function group. The differences in the ablation age and the heart rate during AT between two groups were compared by independent sample t-test. Results: Among 42 children, there were 20 males and 22 females. The age of onset was 2.7 (0.6, 5.1) years. Their age at radiofrequency ablation was (6.5±3.6) years, and the weight was (23.4±10.0) kg. Thirty-two children (76%) had sustained AT. The incidence of tachycardia cardiomyopathy was 43% (18/42). Compared to that of the normal cardiac function group, the ablation age and the heart rate at atrial tachycardia of the tachycardia cardiomyopathy group were higher ((8.1±3.8) vs. (5.3±3.1) years, t=-2.63, P=0.012; (173±41) vs. (150±30) beats per minute, t=-2.05, P=0.047. Thirty-eight children (90%) responded poorly to two or more antiarrhythmic drugs. The immediate success rate of radiofrequency ablation (RFCA) was 57% (24/42), and the AT recurrence rate was 17% (4/24). Twenty-two children underwent RAA resection, and their AT were all converted to sinus rhythm after the surgery. During the RAA resection, 10 cases of right atrial appendage aneurysm were found, 9/18 of which failed the RFCA. Conclusions: The AT originated from the RAA in children tend to present with sustained AT, respond poorly to antiarrhythmic drugs, and has a low success rate of RFCA as well as high recurrence rate. Resection of the RAA is a safe and effective complementary treatment.

Abstract
Ziziphi Spinosae Semen(ZSS) is an edible TCM derived from the dried ripe seeds of Ziziphus jujube Mill. var. spinosa(Bunge)Hu ex H. F. Chou(Rhamnaceae), which has the effects of nourishing the heart, tonifying the liver, calming the heart, tranquilizing the mind, arresting sweating, and promoting fluid production, and is widely used in the treatment and health care of diseases related to cardiovascular, nervous, and immune systems. Jujuboside B(JuB), one of the main active ingredients of ZSS, possesses various pharmacological effects with application values. This paper reviewed the chemical structure and pharmacological effects of JuB. JuB has sedative, hypnotic, antitumor, anti-platelet, anti-inflammatory, and other biological activities, which shows the potential thera-peutic effects on insomnia, tumors, coronary artery disease, airway inflammation, and liver injury. However, there are some limitations to the results of current studies. More comprehensive studies, including basic research and clinical trials, need to be carried out to provide more reliable evidence.

Abstract
In the present study, the contents of seven active components [genipinic acid(GA), protocatechuic acid(PCA), neochlorogenic acid(NCA), chlorogenic acid(CA), cryptochlorogenic acid(CCA),(+)-pinoresinol di-O-β-D-glucopyranosid(PDG), and(+)-pinoresinol 4'-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(PG)] of Eucommiae Cortex in aortic vascular endothelial cells of spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR) were simultaneously determined by ultra-high liquid chromatography-triple quadrupole mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS). The qualified SHR models were selected. The primary aortic endothelial cells(VECs) of rats were separated and cultured by ligation and adherence, followed by subculture. After successful identification, an UPLC-MS/MS method for simultaneously determining the contents of GA, PCA, NCA, CA, CCA, PDG, PG in seven components of Eucommiae Cortex in VECs was established, including specificity, linearity, matrix effect, recovery, accuracy, precision and stability. The established method had the lo-west limit of quantification of 0.97-4.95 μg·L~(-1), accuracy of 87.26%-109.6%, extraction recovery of 89.23%-105.3%, matrix effect of 85.86%-106.2%, and stability of 86.00%-112.5%. Therefore, the established accurate UPLC-MS/MS method could rapidly and simultaneously determine the contents of the seven active components of Eucommiae Cortex in VECs of SHRs, which provided a refe-rence for the study of cellular pharmacokinetics of active components of Eucommiae Cortex extract.

Abstract
Background: Glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) is recommended for diagnosing and monitoring type 2 diabetes. However, the monitoring frequency in real-world applications has not yet reached the recommended frequency in the guidelines. Developing machine learning models to screen patients with poor glycemic control in patients with T2D could optimize management and decrease medical service costs. Methods: This study was carried out on patients with T2D who were examined for HbA1c at the Sichuan Provincial People's Hospital from April 2018 to December 2019. Characteristics were extracted from interviews and electronic medical records. The data (excluded FBG or included FBG) were randomly divided into a training dataset and a test dataset with a radio of 8:2 after data pre-processing. Four imputing methods, four screening methods, and six machine learning algorithms were used to optimize data and develop models. Models were compared on the basis of predictive performance metrics, especially on the model benefit (MB, a confusion matrix combined with economic burden associated with therapeutic inertia). The contributions of features were interpreted using SHapley Additive exPlanation (SHAP). Finally, we validated the sample size on the best model. Results: The study included 980 patients with T2D, of whom 513 (52.3%) were defined as positive (need to perform the HbA1c test). The results indicated that the model trained in the data (included FBG) presented better forecast performance than the models that excluded the FBG value. The best model used modified random forest as the imputation method, ElasticNet as the feature screening method, and the LightGBM algorithms and had the best performance. The MB, AUC, and AUPRC of the best model, among a total of 192 trained models, were 43475.750 (¥), 0.972, 0.944, and 0.974, respectively. The FBG values, previous HbA1c values, having a rational and reasonable diet, health status scores, type of manufacturers of metformin, interval of measurement, EQ-5D scores, occupational status, and age were the most significant contributors to the prediction model. Conclusion: We found that MB could be an indicator to evaluate the model prediction performance. The proposed model performed well in identifying patients with T2D who need to undergo the HbA1c test and could help improve individualized T2D management.

Abstract
Introduction Default mode network (DMN) is the most involved network in the study of brain development and brain diseases. Resting-state functional connectivity (rsFC) is the most used method to study DMN, but different studies are inconsistent in the selection of seed. To evaluate the effect of different seed selection on rsFC, we conducted an image-based meta-analysis (IBMA). Methods We identified 59 coordinates of seed regions of interest (ROIs) within the default mode network (DMN) from 11 studies (retrieved from Web of Science and Pubmed) to calculate the functional connectivity; then, the uncorrected t maps were obtained from the statistical analyses. The IBMA was performed with the t maps. Results We demonstrate that the overlap of meta-analytic maps across different seeds' ROIs within DMN is relatively low, which cautions us to be cautious with seeds' selection. Discussion Future studies using the seed-based functional connectivity method should take the reproducibility of different seeds into account. The choice of seed may significantly affect the connectivity results.

Abstract
Chronic cerebral hypoperfusion is an important pathological factor in many neurodegenerative diseases, such as cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD). One of the most used animal models for chronic cerebral hypoperfusion is the bilateral common carotid artery stenosis (BCAS) mouse. For the therapy of CSVD and other diseases, it will be beneficial to understand the pathological alterations of the BCAS mouse, particularly vascular pathological changes. A mouse model of BCAS was used, and 8 weeks later, cognitive function of the mice was examined by using novel object recognition test and eight-arm radial maze test. 11.7 T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and luxol fast blue staining were used to evaluate the injury of the corpus callosum (CC), anterior commissure (AC), internal capsule (IC), and optic tract (Opt) in the cerebral white matter of mice. Three-dimensional vascular images of the whole brain of mice were acquired using fluorescence micro-optical sectioning tomography (fMOST) with a high resolution of 0.32 × 0.32 × 1.00 μm3. Then, the damaged white matter regions were further extracted to analyze the vessel length density, volume fraction, tortuosity, and the number of vessels of different internal diameters. The mouse cerebral caudal rhinal vein was also extracted and analyzed for its branch number and divergent angle in this study. BCAS modeling for 8 weeks resulted in impaired spatial working memory, reduced brain white matter integrity, and myelin degradation in mice, and CC showed the most severe white matter damage. 3D revascularization of the whole mouse brain showed that the number of large vessels was reduced and the number of small vessels was increased in BCAS mice. Further analysis revealed that the vessel length density and volume fraction in the damaged white matter region of BCAS mice were significantly reduced, and the vascular lesions were most noticeable in the CC. At the same time, the number of small vessels in the above white matter regions was significantly reduced, while the number of microvessels was significantly increased in BCAS mice, and the vascular tortuosity was also significantly increased. In addition, the analysis of caudal rhinal vein extraction revealed that the number of branches and the average divergent angle in BCAS mice were significantly reduced. The BCAS modeling for 8 weeks will lead to vascular lesions in whole brain of mice, and the caudal nasal vein was also damaged, while BCAS mice mainly mitigated the damages by increasing microvessels. What is more, the vascular lesions in white matter of mouse brain can cause white matter damage and spatial working memory deficit. These results provide evidence for the vascular pathological alterations caused by chronic hypoperfusion.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION For effective preventive strategies against GORD (gastro-esophageal reflux disease), we assessed the GORD burden from 1990 to 2019. METHODS The burden of GORD between 1990 and 2019 was evaluated globally, regionally, and nationally. Using ASIR (age-standardized incidence), ASYLDs (age-standardized years lived with disabilitys), we compared them to the GBD world population per 100,000. The estimates were based on 95% uncertainty intervals (UIs). The AAPC (average annual percent change) in incidence, YLDs, along with prevalence rates with associated 95% CIs were estimated. RESULTS Data to estimate the burden of GORD are scarce till now. The global ASIR of GORD in 2019 was 3792.79 per 100,000, an increase AAPC of 0.112% from 1990. The prevalence of GORD increased with a AAPC of 0.096% to 9574.45 per 100,000. Global ASYLDs in 2019 was 73.63, an increase AAPC of 0.105% from 1990. The GORD burden varies greatly depending on the development level and geographical location. USA demonstrated the most obvious decreasing trend in burden of GORD, while Sweden had an increasing trend. That the increase in GORD YLDs was mediated primarily by the growth and aging of population, was revealed by decomposition analyses. There was an inverse relationship between SDI (socio-demographic index) and GORD-burden. Frontier analyses revealed significant scope of improvement in the status of development at all levels. CONCLUSION GORD is a public health challenge, especially in Latin America. Some SDI quintiles had declining rates, while some countries experienced increased rates. Thus, resources should be allocated for preventative measures based on country-specific estimates.

Abstract
Background: Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) has been demonstrated to predict mortality in patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis (MHD). Vascular access (VA) is critical for MHD patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the change in HRQoL among MHD patients with a 2-year follow-up and to explore the impact of VA satisfaction on HRQoL in this population. Methods: 229 MHD patients in two dialysis centers were included in this observational prospective study. VA satisfaction was assessed using the Vascular Access Questionnaire (VAQ). The 36 Item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) questionnaire was employed to evaluate HRQoL scores. Multiple logistic regression analysis was used to evaluate the influencing factors of HRQoL. Results: A total of 229 MHD patients were enrolled in the study, and 198 individuals (86.46%) completed the 2-year follow-up. HRQoL decreased statistically significantly from baseline to the 2-year follow-up across all dimensions. Multivariable analyses showed that the overall score, social functioning score, dialysis-related complication score of VAQ influenced HRQoL in the study population. Furthermore, HRQoL total scores and scores on the physical component summary (PCS) and mental component summary (MCS) domains were significantly higher in the satisfied VA group than in the dissatisfied group at baseline. After the 2-year follow-up, patients with a higher level of VA satisfaction reported higher HRQoL than patients with lower VA satisfaction. Conclusion: Our data suggested that VA satisfaction was significantly associated with HRQoL in MHD patients. These findings imply that surgeons and nephrologists should incorporate patient satisfaction into VA surgical decision-making.

Abstract
Objective: We sought to investigate the clinical characteristics and risk factors of antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) complicated by autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA). Methods: Retrospective anaysis.Three hundred fifteen consecutive patients with APS were enrolled at the Department of Rheumatology of Peking Union Medical College Hospital between May 2017 to May 2021, and their clinical manifestations[including initial symptoms, time interval between APS onset and diagnosis, systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE), thrombotic events, obstetric morbidity, and extra-criteria manifestations] and laboratory test results[including blood routine, antiphospholipid antibodies(aPLs), blood lipid profile, homocysteine, anti-nuclear antibody profile, immunoglobulin levels, and complement levels] were collected. Then, univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were performed. Clinical features and risk factors were analyzed using univariable and multivariable logistic regression analysis. Results: Among 315 APS patients, 37 cases (11.7%) were complicated by AIHA, and AIHA was the first manifestation or co-occurrence. The median time interval between APS onset and diagnosis was 12 months. The proportion of SLE in APS patients combined with AIHA was higher than that in APS patients without AIHA[62.2%(23/37) vs. 19.4%(54/278), P<0.001]. There was no significant difference in the proportions of thrombosis and pregnancy morbidity between the two groups. In terms of extra-criteria manifestations, APS patients with AIHA had a significantly (P<0.05) greater risk of thrombocytopenia (OR=6.19, 95%CI 2.81-13.65) and higher proportions of hypocomplementemia, a positive lupus anticoagulant (LA) result, double aPLs positivity[i.e., any two of the following antibodies were positive: LA, anticardilolipin antibody(aCL), and anti-β2 glycoprotein Ⅰ(β2GPⅠ)], and triple aPLs positivity (i.e., LA, aCL, and anti-β2GPⅠ antibodies were all positive). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that SLE (OR=3.46,95%CI 1.60-7.48), thrombocytopenia (OR=2.56,95%CI 1.15-5.67), and hypocomplementemia (OR=4.29,95%CI 2.03-9.04) were independent risk factors for the complication of APS. In the primary APS subgroup, multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that livedo reticularis (OR=10.51,95%CI 1.06-103.78), thrombocytopenia (OR=3.77, 95%CI 1.23-11.57), and hypocomplementemia (OR=5.92,95%CI 1.95-17.95) were independent risk factors for the complication of APS. Conclusions: AIHA is not rare in APS patients; moreover, it occurs more frequently in APS secondary to SLE and is more likely to present with a variety of extra-criteria manifestations. Patients with AIHA should be promptly tested for antiphospholipid antibody profiles and alerted to the possibility of thrombotic events.

Abstract
In this study, we investigated the preventive effect of Lycium barbarum L. berry extract on age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and the main components responsible for its antioxidant activity. An AMD mouse model was developed by feeding 18-month-old mice with a 1% hydroquinone diet. Meanwhile, the model mice were treated with water extract (LBW) and alcohol extract (LBE) of L. barbarum berries respectively for 3 months. It was found that the retinal structural abnormalities were improved and the oxidation stress and inflammatory imbalance were both attenuated in model mice treated with the extracts of L. barbarum berries. According to the metabolomics analysis of the serum of model mice, LBW regulated the metabolism of unsaturated fatty acids and sphingolipids, while LBE extracts tended to regulate taurine metabolism. On sodium iodate induced oxidative injury of ARPE-19 cells, water extracts of L. barbarum berries eluted with 95% ethanol (LBW-95E) on AB-8 macroporous resin significantly improved the cell viability and attenuated oxidative stress by increasing the superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity and glutathione (GSH) content, decreasing the reactive oxygen species (ROS) content, promoting the entry of nuclear factor erythroid-derived 2-like 2 (Nrf2) into the nucleus and up-regulating the heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) expression. Scopoletin, N-trans-feruloyltyramine and perlolyrine were identified as the main components of LBW-95E. These results demonstrated that L. barbarum berry extracts protected the retina of aging AMD model mice from degeneration and LBW-95E was the vital antioxidant activity fraction of LBW. These findings suggest that L. barbarum berry extracts might be an excellent natural source for the development of retinal protection-related drugs or dietary supplements.

Abstract
To address the problem of shutting effect of Li-S batteries, we used Ti-based MOF as precursor to obtain a conductive matrix with dual inhibitors. The target material, namely NTiPC, shown remarkable discharge capacity with 1178 mA h g-1, and maintained at 732 mA h g-1 after 100 cycles. The results indicated the N- and Ti-active sites synergistic acted with conductive framework can facilitate binding reaction between matrix and polysulfides.

Abstract
To evaluate the data obtained from the external quality assurance program initiated by Chinese Rheumatism Data Center (CRDC-QAP) for autoantibodies detection in 2021, so as to assess the consensus and differences in cross-laboratory testing to autoantibodies in China. This is a retrospective study. After collecting data from the first half year (from May 15th to July 10th) and the second half year (from August 15th to November 19th) of CRDC-QAP program for autoantibody detection in 2021, it firstly analyzed the qualitative consensus of the cross-laboratory results. Secondly, it compared the positivity grade of numeric results according to the Sample to cut-off ratio (S/CO ratio) calculation. Finally, the mean and coefficient variation (CV) of numeric results from three major manufacturers were calculated. A total of 303 and 332 clinical labs voluntarily participated in the first half year and the second half year of CRDC-QAP program for autoantibody detection in 2021, respectively. Except for anti-β2 glycoprotein type I (aβ2-GPI) IgM, the cross-laboratory consensus of qualitative results for the other autoantibodies is greater than 96%. As for anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide antibody (anti-CCP) and anti mitochondrial antibody-M2 (AMA-M2), the numeric results from more than 90% laboratories showed the same positivity grade. More than 50% of laboratories used chemiluminescence immunoassay (CLIA) for quantitative evaluation of autoantibody. The CV of numeric results from different manufacturers showed certain differences(P<0.01) with the range from 0 to 238%. Although high consensus can be observed in term of qualitative result for autoantibody detection in cross-laboratory, there are still certain differences in numeric results in term of positivity grade and manufacturer-based CV.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Viral pneumonia (VP) is becoming a persistent and pervasive burden of disease. Traditional Chinese medicine Injections (TCMIs) have been proved effective in the treatment of patients with VP, which are now widely used in China. The evidence of TCMIs for VP is evolving rapidly. This study aims to assess the comparative efficacy and safety of TCMIs to provide more evidence and sights for the treatment selection of VP. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS Seven databases were searched from their inception up to 16 March 2022. Only randomized controlled trials (RCTs) are included to compare the efficacy and safety of antiviral TCMIs for the treatment of viral pneumonia. Clinical efficacy and rate of adverse events were considered as primary outcomes. RESULTS A total of 76 RCTs with eight TCMIs comprising 7925 patients were included in the NMA. According to NMA, Reduning Injection combined with conventional antiviral drugs (CAD) produced superior effects in the effective outcomes and reduced the adverse event incidence rate of VP. CONCLUSIONS This study indicated that TCMIs combined with CAD was more effective and safer than CAD monotherapy and compared different TCMIs therapies, which provided guidance and reference for the selection of clinical treatment medication.

Abstract
Interstitial lung disease (ILD) is a frequent complication of patients with connective tissue disease (CTD) and significantly affects morbidity and mortality. Disease course may vary from stable or mildly progressive to more severe, with rapid loss of lung function. At present, there are great challenges and poor prognosis in the diagnosis and treatment of CTD-ILD. Based on the evidence and guidelines from China and other countries, experts from the Chinese Rheumatology Association developed standardization of diagnosis and treatment of CTD-ILD. The aim is to strengthen the early identification of, standardize the diagnosis and treatment of CTD-ILD, and delay the progress of the disease.

Abstract
To investigate the distribution and clinical significance of nuclear dense fine speckled (DFS) pattern in various diseases. A total of 95 289 patients who received DFS tests at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from January 2019 to December 2020 were included in this study. The results of indirect immunofluorescence assay (IIF) for detection of antinuclear antibody (ANA) were evaluated. The positive rates of ANA and DFS were 39.60% (37 733/95 289) and 1.19% (1 139/95 289) respectively. The positive rate of DFS in ANA-positive patients was 3.02% (1 139/37 733). DFS and ANA positivity were significantly different among different age groups rather than gender. The positivity rate of DFS reached the peak (55.57%, 633/1 139) in young patients between 21-40 years, while positive ANA with negative DFS was mainly observed in patients between 41-60 years (37.26%, 13 636/36 594). Additionally, single ANA-positivity were mainly detected in rheumatology department (59.23%, 18 402/31 066), whereas positive DFS was more common in obstetrics and gynecology department (3.08%, 49/1 593). There were 82.88% (944/1 139) patients with positive DFS diagnosed with non-autoimmune disease (non-AID), and 19.49%(222/1 139) with dermatosis. Positive DFS with higher titer (≥1∶320) was detected more frequently in autoimmune disease (AID) patients (5.13%, 10/195) than in non-AID patients (1.69%, 16/944) (P<0.05). The DFS pattern is rare in ANA positive patients, which is mainly observed in women between 21-49 years. High titer of DFS is prevalent in AID patients, but positive DFS is detected more in non-AID patients, especially those with dermatosis.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the feasibility, safety and effectiveness of left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) in children aged ≤3 years. Methods: A total of 10 children aged ≤3 years who were diagnosed with brady arrhythmia in the First Hospital of Tsinghua University from September 2020 to September 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. All the children met the indication of permanent pacemaker implantation and underwent LBBAP successfully. The intraoperative data (pacing parameters, electrocardiogram and radiographic imaging), cardiac ultrasound data and clinical data during regular postoperative follow-up were recorded. The preoperative and postoperative data were compared using matched samples t test. Results: Ten children (aged (1.6±0.7) years with weight of (10.3±2.5) kg) underwent LBBAP successfully. The QRS wave duration on the postoperative electrocardiogram was (100±9) ms, and the percentage of ventricular pacing was (97±7)%. The postoperative follow-up period was 6 (6, 12) months. At 1 week after operation, the left ventricular end-diastolic diameter Z scores in these children reduced significantly compared with those before operation (1.3±0.6 vs. 3.6±1.1, t=9.37, P<0.001). During the follow-up period, cardiac function was normal and the last left ventricular ejection fraction was (66±4)% in all children. At the last follow-up, the pacing threshold of the 10 children was smaller than 1.0 V and was acceptable. Compared with the intraoperative baseline values, the pacing threshold was slightly higher ((0.8±0.1) vs. (0.5±0.1) V, t=-5.27, P=0.001). However, no significant difference was found regarding sensing threshold ((16±5) vs. (14±4) mV, t=-0.83, P=0.426) and impedance ((584±88) vs. (652±86) Ω, t=2.26, P=0.050). During follow-up, no electrode related complications were recorded. Conclusions: LBBAP is safe and effective for infants and toddlers. Narrow QRS pacing with stable pacing parameters and normal cardiac function could be achieved postoperatively.

Abstract
A 50-year-old man was admitted to the Department of Rheumatology at Peking Union Medical College Hospital with rash for 6 months, and fever and hematuria for 5 months. The main clinical manifestations included fever, fatigue, purpura, hematuria and thrombocytopenia. He was positive for antinuclear antibody (ANA), anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) and rheumatoid factor (RF), and had low complement levels. Initial blood culture, echocardiography and chest CT showed no signs of infection. Diagnosis of connective tissue disease was made initially. His disease improved under treatment with glucocorticoids and immunosuppressive agents, but relapsed when glucocorticoids were tapered. After admission, the diagnosis was reconsidered, and infective endocarditis was finally diagnosed with repeated positive blood cultures and vegetations detected by transesophageal echocardiography. Amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium were initiated, and surgery was performed. His symptoms finally recovered gradually.

Abstract
The data of 33 patients with adult-onset still's disease (AOSD)-associated macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) were retrospectively collected from January 2013 to December 2020 in Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH)-2004 criteria, macrophage activation syndrome/juvenile idiopathic arthritis (MS-Score) and hemophagocytic syndrome diagnostic score (HScore) were used to diagnose AOSD-associated MAS, respectively. The time of diagnosis of AOSD-associated MAS by MS-Score was 19.0 (4.5, 31.0) days [M (Q1,Q3)] earlier than by HLH-2004 criteria, and 13.5 (0.5, 21.5) days earlier than by HScore (both P<0.05). The difference was not statistically significant between the time of diagnosis of AOSD-associated MAS by Hscore and by HLH-2004 criteria (P>0.05). There was significant difference among the three criteria (P<0.001). MS-Score can be used to diagnose AOSD-associated MAS earlier than HLH-2004 criteria, while the timeliness of HScore is not certain.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the relationship between psoriasis severity and clinical features in psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Methods: Patients were recruited from the Chinese REgistry of Psoriatic ARthritis (CREPAR) between December 2018 and June 2021, and data were collected including the baseline demographic characteristics, various clinical manifestations (including arthritis, nail disease, comorbidities), laboratory tests[including erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP)], health assessment questionnaire (HAQ). Body surface area (BSA) and psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) were selected for the tools of assessment of cutaneous psoriasis. Patients were divided to two groups, including the severe psoriasis group (BSA>10%) and the non-severe psoriasis group (BSA≤10%). Disease assessment included ankylosing spondylitis disease activity score (ASDAS), disease activity score 28 (DAS28) and disease activity in psoriatic arthritis (DAPSA). Results: 1 074 eligible patients with PsA were recruited, and 106 (9.9%) had severe psoriasis. Compared with non-severe psoriasis group, the severe psoriasis group had more peripheral joint involvement (including patients with ever or current peripheral arthritis, 94.3% vs. 85.6%), more polyarticular joint involvement (including patients with current peripheral arthritis, 74.0% vs. 58.2%), more axial joint involvement (51.4% vs. 39.9%), more nail disease (72.6% vs. 61.4%), more frequency of smoking (20.2% vs. 18.7%), and higher proportion of hypertension (23.4% vs. 14.4%). In addition, the severe psoriasis group had higher level of ESR [33(10, 70) mm/1h vs. 20(9, 38) mm/1h] and CRP [18.6(5.0, 60.8) mg/L vs. 7.0(2.4, 18.1) mg/L], higher values of DAS28-ESR (4.5±1.7 vs. 3.7±1.5), DAS28-CRP (4.2±1.5 vs. 3.4±1.4), ASDAS-ESR (3.5±1.4 vs. 2.6±1.2), and ASDAS-CRP(3.4±1.6 vs. 2.5±1.2), higher scores of HAQ [0.6(0.1, 1.0) vs. 0.3(0.0, 0.8)]. Conclusion: Patients with PsA with severe psoriasis bore a heavier disease burden. Therefore, clinicians were supposed to pay more attention to them. In addition to skin lesions, they should also focus on examination of other clinical manifestations, such as joints and nails.

Abstract
Licochalcone A (LA), a useful and valuable flavonoid, is isolated from Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fisch. ex DC. and widely used clinically in traditional Chinese medicine. We systematically updated the latest information on the pharmacology of LA over the past decade from several authoritative internet databases, including Web of Science, Elsevier, Europe PMC, Wiley Online Library, and PubMed. A combination of keywords containing “Licochalcone A,” “Flavonoid,” and “Pharmacological Therapy” was used to help ensure a comprehensive review. Collected information demonstrates a wide range of pharmacological properties for LA, including anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-parasitic, bone protection, blood glucose and lipid regulation, neuroprotection, and skin protection. LA activity is mediated through several signaling pathways, such as PI3K/Akt/mTOR, P53, NF-κB, and P38. Caspase-3 apoptosis, MAPK inflammatory, and Nrf2 oxidative stress signaling pathways are also involved with multiple therapeutic targets, such as TNF-α, VEGF, Fas, FasL, PI3K, AKT, and caspases. Recent studies mainly focus on the anticancer properties of LA, which suggests that the pharmacology of other aspects of LA will need additional study. At the end of this review, current challenges and future research directions on LA are discussed. This review is divided into three parts based on the pharmacological effects of LA for the convenience of readers. We anticipate that this review will inspire further research.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the differences in clinical characteristics between different genders of Chinese patients with systemic sclerosis(SSc). Methods: The data of SSc patients registered in Chinese Rheumatism Data Center between August 2008 and June 2020 were retrospectively analyzed. Results: A total of 1 844 patients with SSc were enrolled in the study. The ratio of males to females was 289 to 1 555. The onset age was (48.6±13.7) years in males and (45.5±13.1) years in females(P<0.001). Male patients represented shorter disease duration [2.0(0.0, 4.0)years vs.3.0(1.0, 7.0) years, P<0.001],higher proportion of diffuse cutaneous SSc (dcSSc) [63.0% (182/289)vs.44.2%(688/1 555), P<0.001]. Although more man patients experienced smoking [47.4%(137/289) vs. 1.7%(27/1 555), P<0.001] and exposure to harmful environments [7.6%(22/289) vs. 2.1%(33/1 555), P<0.001], there was no statistically significant difference in interstitial lung disease between male and female patients [69.3%(181/261) vs. 74.5%(1 085/1 457), P=0.084].Otherwise, Raynaud's phenomenon [87.7% (1 364/1 555) vs.75.4%(218/289), P<0.001], arthritis [11.1%(173/1 555) vs.6.9%(20/289), P=0.032], gastroesophageal reflux disease [22.0%(342/ 1 555) vs.13.1%(38/289), P=0.001], and leucopoenia [10.7(161/1 511)% vs. 6.1%(17/279), P=0.019] were more common in female patients, but finger ulcer was less common [22.5%(350/1 555) vs. 30.4%(88/289), P=0.004]. Antinuclear antibody(ANA) positivity rate [85.6%(1 310/1 531) vs. 78.6%(221/281), P=0.003], anti-RNP antibody positivity rate [23.1%(342/1 479) vs.14.0%(38/271), P=0.001], anti-SSA antibody positivity rate [28.2%(419/1 487) vs.13.9%(38/274), P<0.001] were higher in female patients. Physician's global assessment(PGA) scores [1.4 (1.0, 2.0) vs. 1.0 (0.3, 1.6), P<0.001] and modified Rodnan Skin Score(mRSS) [18.0 (9.5, 28.0) vs. 14.0 (5.0, 28.0), P=0.003] were higher in males. Conclusion: Even though male SSc patients account for a small proportion, more extensive skin involvement, finger ulcers and higher PGA are manifested in males. Physicians need pay attention to these clinical disparities between different genders in SSc.

Abstract
Objective: To use Meta analysis to understand the prevalence of the heritability of body mass index (BMI) in twins. Methods: All studies on the heritability of the twins' BMI published before December 31, 2020 were retrieved through the China National Knowledge Network, Wanfang, VIP, PubMed and Web of Science databases. The literature quality was evaluated by using Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal tools. Stata 16.0 was used to perform subgroup analysis on the outcome indicators (heritability, 95%CI) to explore the source of heterogeneity. The local weighted regression method was used to fit the trend of heritability with age. The publication bias test and the sensitivity analysis of included literatures were also performed by using Stata 16.0. Results: A total of 10 articles meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria were included with 79 twins' independent estimates of heritability for BMI. Meta-analysis showed that the combined value of BMI heritability was 0.69 (95%CI: 0.65-0.71), the combined value of BMI (0.68, 95%CI: 0.65-0.70) in males was lower than that (0.70, 95%CI: 0.68-0.72) in females. The heritability of BMI (0.72, 95%CI: 0.68-0.76) in childhood and adolescence was higher than that (0.68, 95%CI: 0.66-0.70) in adulthood. The gender specific difference in BMI heritability in twins ≤18 years old was even greater, which was lower in males (0.68, 95%CI: 0.61-0.76) than in females (0.75, 95%CI: 0.69-0.81). The heritability increased with age in childhood, reached peak at about 18 years old, and then slowly decreased with age. Conclusions: The heritability of BMI varied with population characteristics, especially age and gender. In view of the high estimated value of BMI heritability in female children and adolescents, more attention should be paid to the start time of health intervention.

Abstract
This study is aimed at investigating the characteristics of the spontaneous brain activity in patients with myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1). A total of 18 patients with DM1 and 18 healthy controls (HCs) were examined by resting-state functional MRI. Combined methods include amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (ALFFs), the fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations (fALFFs), and Wavelet transform-based ALFFs (Wavelet-ALFFs) with standardization, percent amplitude of fluctuation (PerAF) with/without standardization were applied to evaluate the spontaneous brain activity of patients with DM1. Compared with HCs, patients with DM1 showed decreased ALFFs and Wavelet-ALFFs in the bilateral precuneus (PCUN), angular gyrus (ANG), inferior parietal, but supramarginal and angular gyri (IPL), posterior cingulate gyrus (PCG), superior frontal gyrus, medial (SFGmed), middle occipital gyrus (MOG), which were mainly distributed in the brain regions of default mode network (DMN). Decreased ALFFs and Wavelet-ALFFs were also seen in bilateral middle frontal gyrus (MFG), inferior frontal gyrus, opercular part (IFGoperc), which were the main components of the executive control network (ECN). Patients with DM1 also showed decreased fALFFs in SFGmed.R, the right anterior cingulate and paracingulate gyri (ACGR), bilateral MFG. Reduced PerAF in bilateral PCUN, ANG, PCG, MOG, and IPLL as well as decreased PerAF without standardization in PCUNR and bilateral PCG also existed in patients with DM1. In conclusion, patients with DM1 had decreased activity in DMN and ECN with increased fluctuations in the temporal cortex and cerebellum. Decreased brain activity in DMN was the most repeatable and reliable with PCUN and PCG being the most specific imaging biomarker of brain dysfunction in patients with DM1.

Abstract
Background: Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) is a group of clinical syndromes covering all pathological processes of small vessels in the brain, which can cause stroke and serious dementia. However, as the pathogenesis of CSVD is not clear, so the treatment is limited. Endothelial cell dysfunction is earlier than clinical symptoms, such as hypertension and leukosis. Therefore, the treatment of endothelial cells is expected to be a new breakthrough. Quercetin, a flavonoid present in a variety of plants, has the function of anti-inflammation and anti-oxidation. This study aimed to investigate the protective effect of quercetin on endothelial cell injury and provide a basic theory for subsequent application in the clinic. Methods: Human brain microvascular endothelial cells (HBMECs) were cultured in vitro, and the injury model of endothelial cells was established by hypoxia and reoxygenation (H/R). The protective effects of quercetin on HBMECs were studied from the perspectives of cell viability, cell migration, angiogenesis and apoptosis. In order to further study the mechanism of quercetin, oxidative stress and endoplasmic reticulum stress were analyzed. What's more, blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity was also studied. Results: Quercetin can promote the viability, migration and angiogenesis of HBMECs, and inhibit the apoptosis. In addition, quercetin can also activate Keap1/Nrf2 signaling pathway, reduce ATF6/GRP78 protein expression. Further study showed that quercetin could increase the expression of Claudin-5 and Zonula occludens-1. Conclusions: Our experiments show that quercetin can protect HBMECs from H/R, which contains promoting cell proliferation, cell migration and angiogenesis, reducing mitochondrial membrane potential damage and inhibiting cell apoptosis. This may be related to its antioxidation and inhibition of endoplasmic reticulum stress. At the same time, quercetin can increase the level of BBB connexin, suggesting that quercetin can maintain BBB integrity.

Abstract
Objective: To examine the prevalence of multiple antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) subtypes in healthy people and antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) patients, and to assess the value of IgA-aPL in the diagnosis of APS. Methods: According to the 2006 Sydney International APS Classification Criteria, a total of 218 APS patients who were admitted to Peking Union Medical College Hospital or West China Hospital of Sichuan University from July to December 2019 were enrolled. Among them, 66 were males, and 152 were females, aged (44.5±15.4) years, including 148 primary APS patients and 70 secondary APS patients. Age-and gender-matched controls were collected at the same period at the ratio of 1∶1 with the APS cases. IgA/IgG/IgM anticardiolipin antibodies (aCL) and anti-β2 glycoprotein I antibodies (aβ2GPI) were detected by chemiluminescent immunoassay. The differences of indicators between groups were analyzed, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of IgA-aPL for APS. Results: The positivity of IgA-aCL and IgA-aβ2GPI was 20.6% and 15.6% in the APS patients, while in the IgG/IgM-aCL or IgG/IgM-aβ2GPI negative individuals, the isolated positivity of IgA-aCL and IgA-aβ2GPI was only 2.3% and 0.9%, respectively. Accordingly, IgA-aCL and IgA-aβ2GPI isolated positivity could be used to diagnose APS (P=0.216, 1, respectively). The area under the ROC curve (AUC) of IgG/IgM-aCL for APS diagnosis was 0.833, which was significantly better than that of IgG-aCL alone (AUC=0.776, P<0.001); while the AUC of IgA/IgG/IgM-aCL was 0.833, which could not further increase the diagnostic value for APS (P=0.287). As for aβ2GPI, the diagnostic efficacy of combined IgG/IgM (AUC=0.875) or IgA/IgG/IgM (AUC=0.875) antibodies was not superior to IgG-aβ2GPI used alone (AUC=0.869, both P>0.05). Besides, patients with IgA-aPL were more likely to have heart valve lesions and thrombocytopenia (both P<0.05). Conclusion: Based on the existing serological markers, such as lupus anticoagulant, IgG/IgM subtype of aCL and aβ2GPI, testing IgA-aCL and IgA-aβ2GPI cannot further improve the predictive value of APS. However, IgA-aPL is associated with clinical manifestations of APS, including heart valve lesions and thrombocytopenia.

Abstract
In order to standardize the clinical diagnosis and treatment decision-making with traditional Chinese medicine for pa-tients of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) and put the latest clinical study evidence into clinical practice, the international trust-worthy traditional Chinese medicine recommendations( TCM Recs) working group started the compilation of Living Evidence-based Guideline for Combination of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for Treatment of COVID-19 on the basis of the standards and re-quirements of WHO handbook, GRADE and RIGHT. This proposal mainly introduces the formulation methods and processes of the living guidelines in details, such as the composition of the working group, the collection and identification of clinical issues and out-comes, the production of the living systematic review and the consensus of recommendations. The guidelines will continue to monitor the clinical study evidences of TCM in the prevention and treatment of COVID-19, and conduct regular evidence updating, retrieval and screening. When there is new study evidence, the steering committee will evaluate the possibility of the evidence to change clinical practice or previous recommendations, so as to decide whether the recommendations for the guidelines shall be implemented or upda-ted. The main criteria considered in the guideline updating are as follows:(1) There are new high-quality randomized controlled trial(RCT) evidences for TCM uninvolved in the previous edition of the guidelines;(2) as for the TCM involved in the guidelines, living sys-tematic review shows that new evidence may change the direction or strength of the existing recommendations. The specific implementation of the living evidence-based guidelines will take this proposal as the study basis and framework, in order to ensure the standardization of the formulation process and methods. This will be the first exploration of the methodology for living guidelines in the field of TCM.

Abstract
Purpose: Tension-type headache (TTH), the most prevalent primary headache disorder, imposes an enormous burden on the people of the world. The quest to ease suffering from this neurological disorder has sustained research interest. The present study aimed at evaluating the amplitude of low-frequency oscillations (LFOs) of the brain in multiple frequency bands in patients with TTH. Methods: To address this question, 63 participants were enrolled in the study, including 32 TTH patients and 31 healthy controls (HCs). For all the participants, amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF) was measured in six frequency bands (conventional frequency bands, 0.01-0.08 Hz; slow-2, 0.198-0.25 Hz; slow-3, 0.073-0.198 Hz; slow-4, 0.027-0.073 Hz; slow-5, 0.01-0.027 Hz; and slow-6, 0-0.01 Hz), and the differences between TTH patients and HCs were examined. To explore the relationship between the altered ALFF brain regions in the six frequency bands and the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score in the TTH patients, Pearson's correlation analysis was performed. Results: In all the six frequency bands, a decreased ALFF value was detected, and regions showing reduced ALFF values were mostly located in the middle frontal gyrus and superior gyrus. A frequency-dependent alternating characterization of intrinsic brain activity was found in the left caudate nucleus in the slow-2 band of 0.198-0.25 Hz and in the right inferior frontal orbital gyrus in the slow-5 band of 0.01-0.027 Hz. For the correlation results, both the left anterior cingulate and paracingulate gyri and right superior parietal gyrus showed a positive correlation with the VAS score in the slow-4 frequency band of 0.027-0.073 Hz. Conclusion: The ALFF alterations in the brain regions of TTH patients are involved in pain processing. The altered LFOs in the multiple regions may help promote the understanding of the pathophysiology of TTH. These observations could also allow the future treatment of TTH to be more directional and targeted and could promote the development of TTH treatment.

Abstract
Objective: To quantitatively analyze the effects of population aging and other risk factors on the burden of atherosclerosis cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) in China from 1990 to 2019. Methods: Disability adjusted life years (DALY) and age-standardized rates obtained from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 (GBD2019) were used to describe the temporal trend of a burden on ASCVD. And a decomposition method established by Gupta was applied to quantify the burden related to population growth, aging, age-specific prevalence, and the severity of the disease. Results: In 2019, 61.00% of the burden of cardiovascular disease in China was caused by ASCVD. The DALY of ischemic heart disease increased by 133.66% compared with that in 1990, with 29.57% of the increase attributed to population growth, 108.74% due to population aging, and 8.87% due to the rise of age-specific prevalence and -13.53% benefited from changes in disease severity. The DALY of ischemic stroke increased by 138.64% compared with 1990, and the proportions attributable to the above four parts were 30.95%, 123.38%, 55.80%, and -71.49%, respectively. Hypertension remained the leading risk factor for ASCVD in 2019, followed by high LDL cholesterol. The age-standardized DALY rate attributable to drinking had the most significant increase (486.01%) from 1990, with an average annual growth of 10.93%. Conclusions: Aging population seems responsible for the main reason for the considerable increase in the burden of ASCVD in China. Still, the adverse trends of other avoidable risk factors, especially metabolic risk factors, can not be ignored.

Abstract
Taking the Minhang District of Shanghai as a typical rapidly urbanizing area, and based on 595 soil samples from 36 plots, the content of eight heavy metals in soils from five different land uses were analyzed. The ecological risk was evaluated using the Nemerow composite index and the potential ecological risk index. The results showed that the variation coefficients of the heavy metals Zn and Cd were highest, and were notably affected by human activities. The content of heavy metals in industrial land soil was relatively high compared to residential land and cultivated land soils, and heavy metal content was lowest in public management and service land soil. The Nemerow composite index of Zn and Cd was high, corresponding to severe and moderate levels of pollution, respectively. The other heavy metals were found at warning or light levels of pollution. The potential ecological risks posed by heavy metals in the soils from different land uses, in descending order, were heavy-metal-related industry land > non-heavy-metal-related industry land≈residential land > cultivated land≈public management and service land. Industrial land had a greater risk of heavy metal pollution due to industrial operations, complex historical production, and widely variable levels of management. Heavy metal accumulation also tended to occur in residential land and cultivated land soils. Therefore, the prevention of soil heavy metal pollution in association with different land uses, and the control of associated risks during redevelopment, are key challenges in rapidly urbanizing area.

Abstract
Objective: To study clinical characteristics and pregnancy outcomes under anti-coagulation therapy of non-criteria obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome. Methods: Patients suspected of obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome(OAPS) were recruited through Chinese Rheumatism Data Center from 2015 to 2019 consecutively. Patients fulfilling 2006 Sydney revised antiphospholipid syndrome criteria were classified as OAPS. Patients fulfilling definition of non-criteria OAPS(NCOAPS) by expert consensus on diagnosis and management of obstetric antiphospholipid syndrome of China were classified as NCOAPS. Clinical characteristics and laboratory results of two groups were compared. Live birth rates and pregnancy outcomes under anti-coagulation therapy were studied. Results: A total of 88 patients were enrolled, including 56 patients (63.6%) as OAPS, 32(36.4%) as NCOAPS. Live births were only reached in 16.1% (9/56) in OAPS patients and 12.5%(4/32) in NCOAPS. Fetal losses after 10 weeks of gestation and pre-eclampsia before 34 weeks were more common in OAPS group compared to NCOAPS group [78.6%(44/56) vs. 18.8%(6/32), P<0.001; 25.0%(14/56) vs. 3.1%(1/32), P=0.020, respectively]. After enrollment, 15 pregnancies were recorded in OAPS, 10 in NCOAPS, all of whom were treated with low-dose aspirin (LDA) combined with low-molecular weight heparin (LMWH). Live birth rates saw dramatic improvements compared to baseline levels in OAPS [16.1% (9/56) vs. 11/15] along with NCOAPS [12.5% (4/32) vs. 7/10]. Conclusion: Though NCOAPS and OAPS patients differ in antiphospholipid antibody spectrum and pattern of pregnancy morbidities, both groups benefit from LDA combined with LWMH treatment, as live birth rates improve. Non-criteria OAPS patients are recommended to receive anti-coagulation therapy during pregnancy.

Abstract
Purpose We aimed to investigate potential synergistic antiplatelet effects of Ginkgo biloba extract (GBE50) in combination with aspirin using in vitro models. Methods Arachidonic acid (AA), platelet activating factor (PAF), adenosine 5'-diphosphate (ADP) and collagen were used as inducers. The antiplatelet effects of GBE50, aspirin and 1:1 combination of GBE50 and aspirin were detected by microplate method using rabbit platelets. Synergy finder 2.0 was used to analyze the synergistic antiplatelet effect. The compounds in GBE50 were identified by UPLC-Q/TOF-MS analysis and the candidate compounds were screened by TCMSP database. The targets of candidate compounds and aspirin were obtained in TCMSP, CCGs, Swiss target prediction database and drugbank. Targets involving platelet aggregation were obtained from GenCLiP database. Compound-target network was constructed and GO and KEGG enrichment analyses were performed to identify the critical biological processes and signaling pathways. The levels of thromboxane B2 (TXB2), cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and PAF receptor (PAFR) were detected by ELISA to determine the effects of GBE50, aspirin and their combination on these pathways. Results GBE50 combined with aspirin inhibited platelet aggregation more effectively. The combination displayed synergistic antiplatelet effects in AA-induced platelet aggregation, and additive antiplatelet effects occurred in PAF, ADP and collagen induced platelet aggregation. Seven compounds were identified as candidate compounds in GBE50. Enrichment analyses revealed that GBE50 could interfere with platelet aggregation via cAMP pathway, AA metabolism and calcium signaling pathway, and aspirin could regulate platelet aggregation through AA metabolism and platelet activation. ELISA experiments showed that GBE50 combined with aspirin could increase cAMP levels in resting platelets, and decreased the levels of TXB2 and PAFR. Conclusion Our study indicated that GBE50 combined with aspirin could enhance the antiplatelet effects. They exerted both synergistic and additive effects in restraining platelet aggregation. The study highlighted the potential application of GBE50 as a supplementary therapy to treat thrombosis-related diseases.

Abstract
Background: Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the serious complications of diabetes and an important cause of blindness. Despite much research on the pathogenesis of DR, there is still a lack of safe and effective treatment methods. Hu-zhang-qing-mai-yin (HZQMY), a Chinese medicine formula, has been clinically used in the safe and effective treatment of DR for many years. However, the systematic pharmacological research is lacking. The aim of this study was to evaluate the anti-DR effects of HZQMY and explore the possible mechanism involved. Methods: The constituents of HZQMY were analyzed by LC-MS/MS. DR model was established by high glucose simulation on human retinal capillary endothelial cells (HRCECs) in vitro. The cell viability, cell proliferation, cell apoptosis, and tube formation were assessed. Subsequently the related mechanisms were analyzed by assays for JC-1 mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP), intracellular ROS, ATP, western blot and proteomics. Results: 27 main chemical components contained in HZQMY were identified. HZQMY significantly inhibited the viability and proliferation of HRCECs exposed to high glucose, and promoted the apoptosis. In addition, HZQMY also boosted the release of ROS and suppressed tube formation of HRCECs under high glucose exposure. Meanwhile, HRCECs treated with high glucose released more ROS than normal cells, which could be markedly inhibited by HZQMY in a dose-dependent manner. Additionally, western blot assay indicated that HZQMY increased the expression of proteins related to the P38 signaling pathway and inhibited nuclear factor kappa-B (NF-κB) pathway. Proteomic analysis predicted that HSPA4, MAPK3, ENO1, EEF2 and ERPS may be the candidate targets of HZQMY in HRCECs. Conclusions: HZQMY inhibited the proliferation and promoted the Mitochondria related apoptosis of HRCECs exposed to high glucose possibly through regulating P38 and NF-κB signaling pathway.
