Abstract
The accumulation and transportation of pesticides in plants can provide valuable insights to assess potential risks and ensure food safety. The uptake and downward translocation of mandipropamid were examined in hydroponic and soil-cultivated cherry radishes. The uptake of mandipropamid in cherry radish was rapid (bioconcentration factors of 1.1-10.7), whereas the downward translocation was limited (translocation factors of 0.1-0.9). The subcellular distribution results indicated a predominant accumulation in solid fractions of cherry radish (proportions of 52.9-98.7%), potentially because of the hydrophobicity (log Kow of 3.2) of mandipropamid. Owing to the decrease in half-life (>10%), the cultivation of cherry radish enhanced the dissipation of mandipropamid in both nutrient solutions (without stereoselectivity) and soils (with stereoselectivity). In addition, eleven metabolites and three pathways are proposed. This study provides valuable insights for the varying extent of translocation and proper utilization and safety evaluation of mandipropamid in crops.

Abstract
Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) represents the leading cause of cardiovascular death worldwide, and it is thus pivotal to develop effective approaches for the timely detection of AMI markers, especially possessing the characteristics of antibody-free, signal amplification, and manipulation convenience. We herein construct a MoS2 nanosheet-powered CRISPR/Cas12a sensing strategy for sensitive determination of miR-499, a superior AMI biomarker to protein markers. The presence of miR-499 at a trace level is able to induce a significantly enhanced fluorescence signal in a DNA-based molecular engineering platform, which consists of CRISPR/Cas12a enzymatic reactions and MoS2 nanosheet-controllable signal reporting components. The MoS2 nanosheets were characterized by using atomic force microscopy (AFM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The detection feasibility was verified by using polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) analysis and fluorescence measurements. The detection limit is determined as 381.78 pM with the linear range from 0.1 ⅹ 10-9 to 13.33 ⅹ 10-9 M in a fast manner (about 30 min). Furthermore, miRNA detection in real human serum is also conducted with desirable recovery rates (89.5 %-97.6 %), which may find potential application for the clinic diagnosis. We describe herein the first example of MoS2 nanosheet-based signal amplified fluorescence sensor for effective detection of AMI-related miRNA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Previous studies have only investigated the short-term association of recent cannabis use with cannabis-related problems, without accounting for the onset, duration, and variations in frequency of use in the life-course. METHODS We obtained data from the Washington panel survey during 2014-2016. We constructed accumulated lifetime exposure to cannabis use, heavy drinking (5+ drinks on one occasion), and cigarette pack-years from age of onset based on a series of decades-based questions on cannabis use and heavy drinking, and tobacco use history. We used Generalized Estimating Equation with Poisson distribution to investigate the association between accumulated cannabis use and the past-6-month CUDIT score. We adjusted for accumulated heavy drinking and cigarette pack-years, substance co-use variables, demographics, and applied survey weights. RESULTS We found strong and statistically significant correlations for the lifetime measures across the four panel surveys, indicating that the life-course measures of cannabis use and heavy drinking were largely reliable. We found a statistically significant relationship between the lifetime accumulated exposure to cannabis and CUDIT. The results were robust to the inconsistencies in reported frequencies and onset age across panel surveys. CONCLUSIONS This study established the relationship between lifetime exposure to cannabis and cannabis-related problems in a representative sample of drinkers and marijuana users in Washington state. We have also provided test-retest validity and question details for the decades-based cannabis and heavy drinking measures to facilitate their use in future studies of cannabis and alcohol-related outcomes.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Despite substantial declines in underage drinking and binge drinking, alcohol consumption has increased in the past 30 years. This study examined how beverage-specific drinking patterns varied by sex, age, and race and ethnicity from 1979 to 2020. METHODS Secondary data analysis was conducted on pooled data from the National Alcohol Survey series from 1979 to 2020 of a sample of U.S. adults ages 18 years or older. Total and beverage-specific volume were calculated from graduated frequency questions on reported beverage type, which included beer, wine, and spirits. Sex-stratified analyses focused on descriptive trends of each alcohol measure over time and by age and race and ethnicity. Time-varying effect models were also conducted to identify subgroups at higher risk for increased consumption over time. RESULTS Women's drinking increased, with alcohol volume rising substantially from 2000 to 2020; the largest increase was among women 30 and older. Men's alcohol volume also rose over this period but remained below the levels of 1979 and 1984, with older adults increasing their consumption those 18-29 decreased their drinking. Beverage-specific trends showed some similarities by gender: in 2020, wine volume was at its highest level for both women and men, while spirits volume also was at its highest level for men and in women was tied with the 1979 peak in spirits consumption. Increases were also found among Black men and women and Latina women from 2000 to 2020. CONCLUSIONS Given the increases in alcohol volume, particularly among women and older age groups, alcohol policy, interventions, and education should consider ways to reduce harms associated with alcohol use among these groups. Continued monitoring of beverage-specific drinking patterns is needed to track policy-relevant changes.

Abstract
As an important neurotrophic factor in the central nervous system, Brain-derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) has been implicated in the pathophysiology of psychiatric disorders in many studies. However, its value as a biomarker for the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of mental disorders is still controversial, and its change patterns among different mental disorders have not been compared. We conducted a network meta-analysis of BDNF levels in different psychiatric disorders including schizophrenia(SCZ), major depressive disorder(MDD), bipolar disorder(BD), panic disorder(PD), post-traumatic stress disorder(PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder(OCD), generalized anxiety disorder(GAD) and insomnia. Studies were identified by searching electronic databases through 31/05/2023. BDNF levels decreased in patients with BD, MDD, OCD, PD, SCZ compared with controls, while significantly increased in patients with PTSD. According to the network meta-analysis, BDNF levels were significantly decreased in MDD and SCZ compared with BD (-2.6, 95% CIs [-5.32 to -0.15] and - 2.68 95% CIs [-5.18 to -0.23] respectively). However, in the traditional meta-analysis, there was a trend towards lower BDNF levels in SCZ compared to BD, with no significant difference (SMD = -0.20, 95% CIs [-0.49 to 0.08]). In conclusion, abnormal BDNF levels have been found in psychiatric disorders, and the changes in peripheral BDNF levels in patients with psychiatric disorders were reconfirmed in this study, which suggests BDNF exhibits promising clinical utility and may hold diagnostic value in distinguishing between MDD and BD.

Abstract
Macular edema, a prevalent ocular complication observed in various retinal diseases, can lead to significant vision loss or blindness, necessitating accurate and timely diagnosis. Despite the potential of deep learning for segmentation of macular edema, challenges persist in accurately identifying lesion boundaries, especially in low-contrast and noisy regions, and in distinguishing between Inner Retinal Fluid (IRF), Sub-Retinal Fluid (SRF), and Pigment Epithelial Detachment (PED) lesions. To address these challenges, we present a novel approach, termed Semantic Uncertainty Guided Cross-Transformer Network (SuGCTNet), for the simultaneous segmentation of multi-class macular edema. Our proposed method comprises two key components, the semantic uncertainty guided attention module (SuGAM) and the Cross-Transformer module (CTM). The SuGAM module utilizes semantic uncertainty to allocate additional attention to regions with semantic ambiguity, improves the segmentation performance of these challenging areas. On the other hand, the CTM module capitalizes on both uncertainty information and multi-scale image features to enhance the overall continuity of the segmentation process, effectively minimizing feature confusion among different lesion types. Rigorous evaluation on public datasets and various OCT imaging device data demonstrates the superior performance of our proposed method compared to state-of-the-art approaches, highlighting its potential as a valuable tool for improving the accuracy and reproducibility of macular edema segmentation in clinical settings, and ultimately aiding in the early detection and diagnosis of macular edema-related diseases and associated retinal conditions.

Abstract
Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have natural advantages in overcoming the short-channel effect in field-effect transistors (FETs) and in fabricating three-dimensional FETs, which benefit in increasing device density. However, so far, most reported works related to MoS2 FETs with a sub-100 nm channel employ mechanically exfoliated materials and all of the works involve electron beam lithography (EBL), which may limit their application in fabricating wafer-scale device arrays as demanded in integrated circuits (ICs). In this work, MoS2 FET arrays with a side-wall source and drain electrodes vertically distributed are designed and fabricated. The channel length of the as-fabricated FET is basically determined by the thickness of an insulating layer between the source and drain electrodes. The vertically distributed source and drain electrodes enable to reduce the electrode-occupied area and increase in the device density. The as-fabricated vertical FETs exhibit on/off ratios comparable to those of mechanically exfoliated MoS2 FETs with a nanoscale channel length under identical VDS. In addition, the as-fabricated FETs can work at a VDS as low as 10 mV with a desirable on/off ratio (1.9 × 107), which benefits in developing low-power devices. Moreover, the fabrication process is free from EBL and can be applied to wafer-scale device arrays. The statistical results show that the fabricated FET arrays have a device yield of 87.5% and an average on/off ratio of about 1.7 × 106 at a VDS of 10 mV, with the lowest and highest ones to be about 1.3 × 104 and 1.9 × 107, respectively, demonstrating the good reliability of our fabrication process. Our work promises a bright future for TMDCs in realizing high-density and low-power nanoelectronic devices in ICs.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between cannabis and alcohol use and occurrence of motor vehicle collision (MVC) among patients in the emergency department (ED). METHODS This was a cross-sectional study of visits to EDs in Denver, CO, Portland, OR, and Sacramento, CA by drivers who were involved in MVCs and presented with injuries (cases) and non-injured drivers (controls) who presented for medical care. We obtained blood samples and measured delta-9-THC and its metabolites. Alcohol levels were determined by breathalyzer or samples taken in the course of clinical care. Participants completed a research-assistant-administered interview consisting of questions about drug and alcohol use prior to their visit, context of use, and past-year drug and alcohol use. Multiple logistic regression was used to estimate the association between MVC and cannabis/alcohol use, adjusted for demographic characteristics. We then stratified participants based on levels of cannabis use and calculated the odds of MVC across these levels, first using self-report and then using blood levels for delta-9-THC in separate models. We conducted a case-crossover analysis, using 7-day look-back data to allow each participant to serve as their own control. Sensitivity analyses examined the influence of usual use patterns and driving in a closed (car, truck, van) versus open (motorcycle, motorbike, all-terrain vehicle) vehicle. RESULTS Cannabis alone was not associated with higher odds of MVC, while acute alcohol use alone, and combined use of alcohol and cannabis were both independently associated with higher odds of MVC. Stratifying by level of self-reported or measured cannabis use, higher levels were not associated with higher odds for MVC, with or without co-use of alcohol; in fact, high self-reported acute cannabis use was associated with lower odds of MVC (odds ratio [OR] 0.18, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.05-0.65). In the case-crossover analysis, alcohol use alone or in combination with cannabis was associated with higher odds of MVC, while cannabis use alone was again associated with decreased odds of MVC. CONCLUSIONS Alcohol use alone or in conjunction with cannabis was consistently associated with higer odds for MVC. However, the relationship between measured levels of cannabis and MVC was not as clear. Emphasis on actual driving behaviors and clinical signs of intoxication to determine driving under the influence has the strongest rationale.

Abstract
Tolfenpyrad is an alternative to highly water-soluble and ecotoxic insecticides that is widely used in China. It is absorbed and accumulates in vegetables, leading to potential public-health hazards. A systematic study of the fate of tolfenpyrad is necessary for proper application and food safety. Herein, we report on the uptake, translocation, metabolism, dissipation, and dietary risks of tolfenpyrad in hydroponic romaine and amaranth plants. Roots easily absorbed and accumulated tolfenpyrad, although transport was moderate in both vegetables. Basipetal translocation of tolfenpyrad occurred in romaine but not in edible amaranth, owing to differences in specific transport behaviour in each case. Six metabolites and three pathways were proposed. Tolfenpyrad affected antioxidant enzyme activities in different parts of the two vegetables. Tolfenpyrad dissipation proceeded swiftly, entailing an acceptable risk to humans. Our results provide information on the distribution and transport of tolfenpyrad, as well as on the safety in using it on vegetables.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Frequency of imaging markers (FIM) has been identified as an independent predictor of hematoma expansion in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), but its impact on clinical outcome of ICH is yet to be determined. The aim of the present study was to investigate this association. METHODS This study was a secondary analysis of our prior research. The data for this study were derived from six retrospective cohorts of ICH from January 2018 to August 2022. All consecutive study participants were examined within 6 h of stroke onset on neuroimaging. FIM was defined as the ratio of the number of imaging markers on noncontrast head tomography (i.e., hypodensities, blend sign, and island sign) to onset-to-neuroimaging time. The primary poor outcome was defined as a modified Rankin Scale score of 3-6 at 3 months. RESULTS A total of 1253 patients with ICH were included for final analysis. Among those with available follow-up results, 713 (56.90%) exhibited a poor neurologic outcome at 3 months. In a univariate analysis, FIM was associated with poor prognosis (odds ratio 4.36; 95% confidence interval 3.31-5.74; p < 0.001). After adjustment for age, Glasgow Coma Scale score, systolic blood pressure, hematoma volume, and intraventricular hemorrhage, FIM was still an independent predictor of worse prognosis (odds ratio 3.26; 95% confidence interval 2.37-4.48; p < 0.001). Based on receiver operating characteristic curve analysis, a cutoff value of 0.28 for FIM was associated with 0.69 sensitivity, 0.66 specificity, 0.73 positive predictive value, 0.62 negative predictive value, and 0.71 area under the curve for the diagnosis of poor outcome. CONCLUSIONS The metric of FIM is associated with 3-month poor outcome after ICH. The novel indicator that helps identify patients who are likely within the 6-h time window at risk for worse outcome would be a valuable addition to the clinical management of ICH.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Peripheral nerve injury (PNI) presents a significant clinical challenge, leading to enduring sensory-motor impairments. While mesenchymal stem cell (MSC)-based therapy holds promise for PNI treatment, enhancing its neurotrophic effects remains crucial. Platelet-rich plasma-derived exosomes (PRP-Exo), rich in bioactive molecules for intercellular communication, offer potential for modulating cellular biological activity. METHODS PRP-Exo was isolated, and its impact on MSC viability was evaluated. The effects of PRP-Exo-treated MSCs (MSCPExo) on Schwann cells (SCs) from injured sciatic nerves and human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were assessed. Furthermore, the conditioned medium from MSCPExo (MSCPExo-CM) was analyzed using a cytokine array and validated through ELISA and Western blot. RESULTS PRP-Exo enhanced MSC viability. Coculturing MSCPExo with SCs ameliorated apoptosis and promoted SC proliferation following PNI. Similarly, MSCPExo-CM exhibited pro-proliferative, migratory, and angiogenic effects. Cytokine array analysis identified 440 proteins in the MSCPExo secretome, with 155 showing upregulation and 6 showing downregulation, many demonstrating potent pro-regenerative properties. ELISA confirmed the enrichment of several angiotrophic and neurotrophic factors. Additionally, Western blot analysis revealed the activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway in MSCPExo. CONCLUSION Preconditioning MSCs with PRP-Exo enhanced the paracrine function, particularly augmenting neurotrophic and pro-angiogenic secretions, demonstrating an improved potential for neural repair.

Abstract
Long-term tumour recurrence rates and complications of endoscope-assisted partial superficial parotidectomy (PSP) are rarely reported compared to traditional open approaches. This retrospective study included 306 patients with superficial parotid benign neoplasms who were divided into an endoscopy group (endoscope-assisted PSP, n = 102) and a control group (conventional PSP, n = 204). There were no significant differences in clinical and pathological characteristics between the two groups, except age (P = 0.001). Three patients had confirmed recurrence during a mean follow-up duration of 125.1 months. Ten (9.8%) patients in the endoscopy group and 22 (10.8%) in the control group developed transient facial nerve palsy (P = 0.792), and recovered 6 months after the operation. Nine (8.8%) and 19 (9.3%) patients, respectively, suffered from Frey syndrome (P = 0.889). A sensory deficit of the auricle occurred in 24 (23.5%) and 57 (27.9%) patients respectively (P = 0.410). Patients in the endoscopy group were more satisfied with the postoperative scar than those in the control group (P < 0.001). This study demonstrated that the endoscope-assisted PSP can be curative, with better cosmetic outcomes than the conventional approach, and does not increase the incidence of postoperative complications or the local recurrence rate.

Abstract
AIM To develop a clinical-radiological model to predict the malignancy of solitary pulmonary nodules (SPNs) and to evaluate the accuracy of chest computed tomography imaging characteristics of SPN in diagnosing pathological type. MATERIALS AND METHODS The predictive model was developed using a retrospective cohort of 601 SPN patients (Group A) between July 2015 and July 2020. The established model was tested using a second retrospective cohort of 124 patients between August 2020 and August 2021 (Group B). The radiological characteristics of all adenocarcinomas in two groups were analysed to determine the correlation between radiological and pathological characteristics. RESULTS Malignant nodules were found in 78.87% of cases and benign in 21.13%. Two clinical characteristics (age and gender) and four radiological characteristics (calcification, vascular convergence, pleural retraction sign, and density) were identified as independent predictors of malignancy in patients with SPN using logistic regression analysis. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (0.748) of the present model was greater than the other two reported models. Diameter, spiculation, lobulation, vascular convergence, and pleural retraction signs differed significantly among pre-invasive lesions, minimally invasive adenocarcinoma, and invasive adenocarcinoma. Only diameter and density were significantly different among invasive adenocarcinoma subtypes. CONCLUSIONS Older age, male gender, no calcification, vascular convergence, pleural contraction sign, and lower density were independent malignancy predictors of SPNs. Furthermore, the pathological classification can be clarified based on the radiological characteristics of SPN, providing a new option for the prevention and treatment of early lung cancer.

Abstract
Retinal arteriovenous nicking (AVN) manifests as a reduced venular caliber of an arteriovenous crossing. AVNs are signs of many systemic, particularly cardiovascular diseases. Studies have shown that people with AVN are twice as likely to have a stroke. However, AVN classification faces two challenges. One is the lack of data, especially AVNs compared to the normal arteriovenous (AV) crossings. The other is the significant intra-class variations and minute inter-class differences. AVNs may look different in shape, scale, pose, and color. On the other hand, the AVN could be different from the normal AV crossing only by slight thinning of the vein. To address these challenges, first, we develop a data synthesis method to generate AV crossings, including normal and AVNs. Second, to mitigate the domain shift between the synthetic and real data, an edge-guided unsupervised domain adaptation network is designed to guide the transfer of domain invariant information. Third, a semantic contrastive learning branch (SCLB) is introduced and a set of semantically related images, as a semantic triplet, are input to the network simultaneously to guide the network to focus on the subtle differences in venular width and to ignore the differences in appearance. These strategies effectively mitigate the lack of data, domain shift between synthetic and real data, and significant intra- but minute inter-class differences. Extensive experiments have been performed to demonstrate the outstanding performance of the proposed method.

Abstract
BACKGROUND To address the research question of how simultaneous users of alcohol and cannabis differ from concurrent users in risk of cannabis use problems after the recreational marijuana legalization in Washington State. METHODS We used generalized estimating equations with a Poisson distribution to analyze the association between simultaneous use of alcohol and marijuana (SAM) and cannabis-related problems compared to concurrent use. The data is a longitudinal sample of drinkers and cannabis users (n = 257, 47% female) aged 18 years and older from Washington State in 2014-2016. We adjusted for survey weights to account for differential probability of selection and response rates. The primary outcome is the past-six-month CUDIT problem subscale (ranging from 0 to 28), which is the total score for seven CUDIT problem items, after excluding the three items that covered marijuana use frequency. Covariates include marijuana use frequency (daily/near daily use, regular use, or infrequent use), marijuana daily quantity, alcohol daily volume, panel survey cycle, medical marijuana recommendation, driving time to nearest marijuana outlet, age of marijuana use onset, and other demographics. RESULTS After adjusting for covariates, we found that compared to concurrent use, SAM was significantly positively associated with CUDIT problem subscale (IRR = 1.68, 95% CI: 1.25-2.27, p < 0.001); daily/near daily use of marijuana was strongly significantly associated with CUDIT problem subscale compared with infrequent use (IRR = 5.1, 2.71-9.57, p < 0.001) or regular use (IRR = 3.05, 1.91-4.85, p < 0.001). Secondary analyses using CUDIT total score as the outcome also showed a significant positive association with SAM compared to concurrent use (IRR = 1.17, 1.02-1.34, p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS This study highlighted the importance of SAM, in addition to cannabis use frequency for predicting cannabis-related problems.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to determine the predictive performance of non-contrast CT (NCCT) signs for hemorrhagic growth after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) when stratified by onset-to-imaging time (OIT). MATERIALS AND METHODS 1488 supratentorial ICH within 6 h of onset were consecutively recruited from six centers between January 2018 and August 2022. NCCT signs were classified according to density (hypodensities, swirl sign, black hole sign, blend sign, fluid level, and heterogeneous density) and shape (island sign, satellite sign, and irregular shape) features. Multivariable logistic regression was used to evaluate the association between NCCT signs and three types of hemorrhagic growth: hematoma expansion (HE), intraventricular hemorrhage growth (IVHG), and revised HE (RHE). The performance of the NCCT signs was evaluated using the positive predictive value (PPV) stratified by OIT. RESULTS Multivariable analysis showed that hypodensities were an independent predictor of HE (adjusted odds ratio [95% confidence interval] of 7.99 [4.87-13.40]), IVHG (3.64 [2.15-6.24]), and RHE (7.90 [4.93-12.90]). Similarly, OIT (for a 1-h increase) was an independent inverse predictor of HE (0.59 [0.52-0.66]), IVHG (0.72 [0.64-0.81]), and RHE (0.61 [0.54-0.67]). Blend and island signs were independently associated with HE and RHE (10.60 [7.36-15.30] and 10.10 [7.10-14.60], respectively, for the blend sign and 2.75 [1.64-4.67] and 2.62 [1.60-4.30], respectively, for the island sign). Hypodensities demonstrated low PPVs of 0.41 (110/269) or lower for IVHG when stratified by OIT. When OIT was ≤ 2 h, the PPVs of hypodensities, blend sign, and island sign for RHE were 0.80 (215/269), 0.90 (142/157), and 0.83 (103/124), respectively. CONCLUSION Hypodensities, blend sign, and island sign were the best NCCT predictors of RHE when OIT was ≤ 2 h. NCCT signs may assist in earlier recognition of the risk of hemorrhagic growth and guide early intervention to prevent neurological deterioration resulting from hemorrhagic growth.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hematoma expansion (HE) is common in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and associated with a worse outcome. Imaging makers and shorter time from symptom onset are both associated with HE, but prognostic scores based on these parameters individually have not been satisfactory. We hypothesized that a score including both imaging markers of expansion, and time of onset, would improve prediction. METHODS Patients with supratentorial ICH within 6 h after onset were consecutively recruited from six centers between January 2018 and August 2022. Three markers were used: hypodensities, the blend sign, and the island sign. We first defined frequency of imaging markers (FIM) as the relationship between the number of imaging markers and onset-to-CT time (OCT). The time-adjusted FIM was defined as the ratio of the number of imaging markers to the onset-to-initial imaging time. Multivariate analysis was performed to determine the relationship between FIM and HE. Receiver operating curve analysis was used to identify potential threshold values of FIM that optimally predict HE. In addition, the sensitivity, specificity, positive and negative predictive values (PPVs and NPVs), and the area under the curve (AUC) of the optimal cut-off in predicting HE were calculated. RESULTS In total, 1488 patients were eligible for inclusion, of whom 418 had incident HE. Multivariate analysis showed that age, male sex, baseline Glasgow Coma Scale score, presence of intraventricular hemorrhage, and FIM were independent predictors of HE (odds ratio (OR) = 0.98, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.97-0.99; OR = 1.73, 95% CI = 1.28-2.35; OR = 0.87, 95% CI = 0.83-0.92; OR = 0.42, 95% CI = 0.28-0.62; OR = 7.82, 95% CI = 5.86-10.42, respectively). The optimal cut-off point for FIM in predicting HE was 0.63, with sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV, and AUC values of 0.69, 0.89, 0.71, 0.88, and 0.83, respectively. CONCLUSION The FIM adjusted for time since symptom onset is a significant predictor of HE. Its use may allow improved prediction of those patients with ICH who develop HE, and the score may be clinically applicable in the management of patients with ICH.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Untreated alcohol use disorder (AUD) can have negative outcomes, including premature death. Completing specialty treatment for AUD can improve economic and educational outcomes. However, there are large racial and ethnic disparities in treatment completion, and how these disparities vary intersectionally (e.g., by gender and race and ethnicity) is unknown. Recent studies suggest that not using an intersectional approach can mask important disparities. We estimated disparities in AUD nonintensive outpatient treatment completion by gender alone, race and ethnicity alone, and intersectionally in a gender-by-race-and-ethnicity model. Accurately quantifying treatment completion disparities is critical not only for understanding healthcare disparities but reducing them to advance health equity. METHODS Data are from SAMHSA's 2017 to 2019 Treatment Episode Dataset-Discharges for adults aged 18+ who entered nonintensive outpatient treatment primarily for alcohol (n = 559,447 episodes; 30.3% women; 63.7% White, 18.0% Black, 14.4% Hispanic/Latinx, 2.1% American Indian/Alaska Native [AIAN], 1.0% Asian/Pacific Islander). Using the rank-and-replace method, treatment completion disparities were estimated by gender, race and ethnicity, and gender-by-race-and-ethnicity due to any reason other than differences in need for treatment, consistent with the Institute of Medicine's definition of a healthcare disparity. RESULTS The intersectional gender-by-race-and-ethnicity model identified the widest range of disparities among all models tested. Using this model, the largest disparities were identified for minoritized women's treatment episodes. Compared to White men whose completion rate was 60.79% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 60.06, 60.98), Black, Hispanic/Latina, AIAN, and Asian-American/Pacific Islander women had treatment episode completion rates that were 12.35 (CI: 12.33, 12.37), 9.08 (CI: 9.06, 9.11), 10.27 (CI: 10.22, 10.32), and 4.87 (CI: 4.78, 4.95) percentage points lower, respectively. CONCLUSIONS In the United States, treatment completion rates for non-intensive outpatient alcohol treatment episodes are significantly lower for minoritized women than White men. The extent of the disparity is not apparent in univariate models, highlighting the importance of an intersectional approach to understanding disparities in the completion of non-intensive outpatient treatment for AUD.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Frequency of imaging markers (FIM) has been described as a novel predictor for hematoma expansion after intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). A revised definition of hematoma expansion that incorporates intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) growth, that is, revised hematoma expansion (RHE), has also been proposed. Nevertheless, the associations between FIM and IVH growth or RHE remains unexplored. The objective of this study was to assess the influence and performance of the FIM on two types. MATERIALS AND METHODS Patient selection and variables were based on our published protocol. FIM was defined as the ratio of the number of imaging markers to the onset-to-neuroimaging time. The association between FIM and two definitions was tested by multivariate analysis. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) of the FIM on two definitions were also evaluated. RESULTS There were 303 (20.36%) and 583 (39.18%) subjects in the IVH growth and RHE, respectively. Multivariate analysis demonstrated that FIM was associated with both IVH growth and RHE (odds ratio [OR] = 1.96, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.60-2.39; OR = 15.01, 95% CI = 10.51-21.43, respectively). The optimal cutoff points for FIM to predict IVH growth and RHE were 0.63 and 0.62, with AUC, sensitivity, specificity, PPV, and NPV of 0.66, 0.50, 0.78, 0.36, and 0.86 versus 0.80, 0.60, 0.93, 0.84, and 0.78, respectively. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION FIM was not only a predictor of IVH growth, but also of RHE. These findings may have important clinical implications for decision-making based on risk stratification of patients with ICH.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics of patients with common cardiovascular diseases (CVD, including hypertension, coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure) combined with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and explore the potential risk factors of MCI in patients with CVD. Methods: A total of 2 294 patients with common cardiovascular diseases who met the criteria at Cardiology Medical Center in Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, from June 1, 2021, to January 5, 2022, were retrospectively included. The patients were divided into the normal cognitive function group (1 107 cases) and the MCI group (1 187 cases). Demographic information and CVD status were collected. The information of cognitive function were collected using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) and the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) scales. The difference between normal cognitive function and MCI were compared and analyzed. The logistic regression analysis was used to explored risk factors of MCI in CVD patients. Results: A total of 2 294 patients aged (60.6±10.4) years were included, among whom there were 29.99% (688 cases) females. Compared with patients in the normal cognitive function group, patients in the MCI group were older [ (57.9±11.4) vs (63.1±8.9) years old, P<0.001], with a higher proportion of women [26.47% (293 cases) vs 33.28% (395 cases), P<0.001]; there was a higher proportion of patients suffering from hypertension in the MCI group [59.62% (660 cases) vs 64.62% (767 cases), P=0.014], and more components of CVD [(1.68±0.62) vs (1.74±0.65) components, P=0.017]. The risk factors of MCI in patients with common CVD were increased age, increased depression score, combined with hypertension, and ≥3 common components of CVD, with OR (95%CI) of 1.043 (1.032-1.054), 1.021 (1.004-1.037), 1.151 (1.142-3.439), and 1.137 (1.023-1.797), respectively (all P values <0.05). Increasing education level was observed to be associated with reduced risk of MCI with OR (95%CI) of 0.319 (0.271-0.378) (P<0.05). Conclusions: The incidence of MCI was high in CVD patients. The risk factors of MCI in CVD patients included hypertension and≥3 common components of CVD.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the distribution and hantavirus (HV) carrying state in host animals of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) in Henan Province from 2019 to 2022. Methods: Host animal monitoring was carried out at the monitoring sites of HFRS in Henan Province. The real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to detect hantavirus in rat lungs. The types of hantavirus were analyzed. The positive samples were sequenced and then sequence homology and variation were analyzed. Results: A total of 1 308 rodents were captured from 2019 to 2022, 16 specimens of rat lungs tested positive for hantavirus nucleic acid. The positive rate of HV was 1.22% (16/1 308). According to type, the positive rate of HV in Apodius agrarius was the highest (68.75%, 11/16). According to distribution, the positive rate of HV in field samples was the highest (2.50%, 12/480), and the positive rate of HV in residential samples was 0.53% (4/759). The typing results of 16 positive samples showed that all viruses were hantavirus type Ⅰ (hantaan virus). The positive samples were sequenced and eight S gene fragments (GenBank number: OQ681444-OQ681451) and six M gene fragments (OQ681438-OQ681443) were obtained. The S and M gene fragments were similar to the Shaanxi 84FLi strain and Sichuan SN7 strain. Phylogenetic analysis of S and M gene fragments showed that they all belonged to the hantaan virus-H5 subtype. Amino acid sequence analysis revealed that, compared with the hantaan virus vaccine strain 84FLi, the 74th amino acid encoded by eight S fragments was replaced by aspartamide with serine. Tryptophan was replaced by glycine at the 14th position of Gn region in XC2022047, and isoleucine was replaced by alanine at the 359 position of XC2022022 and XC2022024. Conclusion: The hantavirus carried by host animals in Henan Province from 2019 to 2022 belongs to the type Ⅰ (hantaan virus), and Apodemus agrarius is still the dominant host animal of the hantaan virus. Compared with the vaccine strains, amino acid sites are replaced in the immune epitopes of the S and M gene fragments.

Abstract
The Coronavirus pandemic has presented multifaceted challenges in urban emotional well-being and mental health management. Our study presents a spatio-temporal sentiment mining (STSM) framework to address these challenges, focusing on the space-time geography and environmental psychology. This framework analyzes the distribution and trends of 6 categories of public sentiments in Shanghai during the COVID-19 crisis, considering the potential urban spatial influencing factors. The research specifically draws on social media data temporally coinciding with the spread of COVID-19 and the pre-trained language model RoBERTa-wwm-ext to classify public sentiment, in order to characterize the distribution and trends of dominant urban sentiment under the influence of epidemic at different phases. The interactions between urban geospatial features and sentiments are further modelled and explained using LightGBM algorithm and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) technique. The experimental findings reveal the subtle yet dynamic impact of the urban environment on the long-term spatial variation and trends of public sentiment under the epidemic, with green spaces and socio-economic status emerging as significant factors. Regions with higher permanent population consumption demonstrated more positive sentiments, underscoring the significance of socio-economic factors in urban planning and public health policy. This research offers the most extensive analysis to date on the influence of urban characteristics on public sentiment during Shanghai's epidemic life cycle also lays the groundwork for applying the STSM framework in future crises beyond COVID-19.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES The association between asthma and COVID-19 mortality remains inconclusive. We examined the association between asthma and clinical outcomes of patients with COVID-19. STUDY DESIGN A case-control study based on a surveillance cohort in Harris County, Texas. METHODS Using the data of 21,765 patients who reported having at least one chronic health condition, we investigated the association between asthma and COVID-19 severity, characterized primarily by hospitalization and death. Unconditional logistic regression models were used to estimate the multivariable odds ratio (mOR) and its 95 % confidence interval (CI) of COVID-19 severity associated with asthma and other chronic lung diseases, adjusting for demographic and other comorbidities. A P-value < 0.005 was considered statistically significant after correcting multiple testing. RESULTS In total, 3034 patients (13.9 %) had asthma, and 774 (3.56 %) had other chronic lung diseases. The case death rate among patients with asthma and other chronic lung diseases was 0.75 % and 19.0 %, respectively. Compared to patients without the respective conditions, patients with asthma had lower odds of death (mOR = 0.44, 95 % CI: 0.27-0.69), while patients with other chronic lung diseases had higher odds of hospitalization (mOR = 2.02, 95 % CI: 1.68-2.42) and death (mOR = 1.95, 95 % CI: 1.52-2.49) (P-values < 0.005). Risk factors for COVID-19 mortality included older age, male gender, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, active cancer, and chronic kidney disease. CONCLUSIONS The public health surveillance data suggested that preexisting asthma was inversely associated with COVID-19 mortality.

Abstract
Two-dimensional (2D) coplanar heterostructure enables high-performance optoelectronic devices, such as p-n heterojunctions. However, realizing site-controllable and shape-specific 2D coplanar heterojunctions composed of two semiconductors with the same crystal orientation still requires the development of new growth methods. Here, a route to fabricate MoS2 -MoTe2 coplanar heterojunctions with the same crystal orientation is reported by exploiting the properties of phase transition and atomic rearrangement during the growth of 2H-MoTe2 . Raman spectroscopy and electron microscopy techniques reveal the chemical composition and lattice structure of the heterostructure. Both MoS2 and MoTe2 in the heterojunction are single crystals and have the same lattice orientation, and their shapes can be arbitrarily defined by electron beam lithography. Electrical measurements show that the MoS2 and MoTe2 channels exhibit n-type and p-type transfer characteristics, respectively. The coplanar epitaxy technology can be used to prepare more coplanar heterostructures with novel device functions.

Abstract
With the rapid development of integrated circuits, there is an increasing need to boost transistor density. In addition to shrinking the device size to the atomic scale, vertically stacked interlayer interconnection technology is also an effective solution. However, realizing large-scale vertically interconnected complementary field-effect transistors (CFETs) has never been easy. Currently-used semiconductor channel synthesis and doping technologies often suffer from complex fabrication processes, poor vertical integration, low device yield, and inability to large-scale production. Here, a method to prepare large-scale vertically interconnected CFETs based on a thermal evaporation process is reported. Thermally-evaporated etching-free Te and Bi2 S3 serve as p-type and n-type semiconductor channels and exhibit FET on-off ratios of 103 and 105 , respectively. The vertically interconnected CFET inverter exhibits a clear switching behavior with a voltage gain of 17 at a 4 V supply voltage and a device yield of 100%. Based on the ability of thermal evaporation to prepare large-scale uniform semiconductor channels on arbitrary surfaces, repeated upward manufacturing can realize multi-level interlayer interconnection integrated circuits.

Abstract
The manipulation of two-dimensional (2D) magnetic order is of significant importance to facilitate future 2D magnets for low-power and high-speed spintronic devices. van der Waals stacking engineering makes promises for controllable magnetism via interlayer magnetic coupling. However, directly examining the stacking order changes accompanying magnetic order transitions at the atomic scale and preparing device-ready 2D magnets with controllable magnetic orders remain elusive. Here, we demonstrate the effective control of interlayer stacking in exfoliated CrBr3 via thermally assisted strain engineering. The stable interlayer ferromagnetic (FM), antiferromagnetic (AFM), and FM-AFM coexistent ground states confirmed by the magnetic circular dichroism measurements are realized. Combined with the first-principles calculations, the atomically resolved imaging technique reveals the correlation between magnetic order and interlayer stacking order in CrBr3 flakes unambiguously. A tunable exchange bias effect is obtained in the mixed phase of FM and AFM states. This work will introduce new magnetic properties by controlling the stacking order and sequence of 2D magnets, providing ample opportunities for their application in spintronic devices.

Abstract
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with permanent porosity and multifunctional catalytic sites constructed by two or more organic ligands are regarded as effective heterogeneous catalysts to improve certain organic catalytic reactions. In this work, a pillared-layer Zn-MOF (MOF-LS10) was constructed by 2,3,5,6-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)pyrazine (H4TCPP) and 2,5-di(pyridin-4-yl)thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole (DPTZTZ). After activation, MOF-LS10 has a permanent porosity and moderate CO2 adsorption capacity. The introduction of thiazolo[5,4-d]thiazole (TZTZ), a photoactive unit, into the framework endows MOF-LS10 with excellent photocatalytic performance. MOF-LS10 can not only efficiently catalyze the formation of cyclic carbonates from CO2 and epoxide substrates under mild conditions but also can photocatalyze benzylamine coupling at room temperature. In addition, we used another two ligands 1,2,4,5-tetrakis(4-carboxyphenyl)benzene (H4BTEB) and 1,4-di(pyridin-4-yl)benzene (DPB) to synthesize MOF-LS11 (constructed by BTEB4- and DPTZTZ) and MOF-LS12 (constructed by TCPP4- and DPB) in order to explore whether the pyrazine structural unit and the TZTZ structural unit synergistically catalyze the reaction. The electron paramagnetic resonance spectrum demonstrates that the superoxide radical (·O2-), generated by electron transfer from the MOF excited by light to the oxidant, is the main active substance of oxidation. The design and synthesis of MOF-LS10 provide an effective synthetic strategy for the development of versatile heterogeneous catalysts for various organic reactions and a wide range of substrates.

Abstract
The first dual nickel/photoredox-catalyzed enantioselective reductive cross-coupling of racemic α-chloro thioesters with aryl iodides has been developed. This strategy avoids the need for organometallic reagents or stoichiometric metal reductants. This reaction could tolerate a wide range of substrate scope with excellent reactivity and high enantioselectivities (up to 91% ee) to access a variety of chiral α-aryl thioesters. The synthetic utility of the corresponding α-aryl thioesters is demonstrated. Furthermore, we explored the mechanism of such an enantioselective radical cross-coupling process.

Abstract
Transition metal dichalcogenide heterostructures have been extensively studied as a platform for investigating exciton physics. While heterobilayers such as WSe_{2}/MoSe_{2} have received significant attention, there has been comparatively less research on heterotrilayers, which may offer new excitonic species and phases, as well as unique physical properties. In this Letter, we present theoretical and experimental investigations on the emission properties of quadrupolar excitons (QXs), a newly predicted type of exciton, in a WSe_{2}/MoSe_{2}/WSe_{2} heterotrilayer device. Our findings reveal that the optical brightness or darkness of QXs is determined by horizontal mirror symmetry and valley and spin selection rules. Additionally, the emission intensity and energy of both bright and dark QXs can be adjusted by applying an out-of-plane electric field, due to changes in hole distribution and the Stark effect. These results not only provide experimental evidence for the existence of QXs in heterotrilayers but also uncover their novel properties, which have the potential to drive the development of new exciton-based applications.

Abstract
This study aimed to explore the correlation between rhizosphere soil microorganisms of wild Arnebia euchroma and the content of medicinal components to provide guidance for the selection of the ecological planting base. The total DNA of rhizosphere soil microorganisms of wild A. euchroma was extracted, and the microbial community structure of rhizosphere soil microorganisms was analyzed by IlluminaMiseq high-throughput sequencing technology. The content of total hydroxynaphthoquinone pigment and β,β'-dimethylacrylalkannin in medicinal materials was determined by high-performance liquid chromatography(HPLC). The physicochemical pro-perties of rhizosphere soil of wild A. euchroma in main producing areas were determined, and the correlation of soil microbial abundance with index component content and soil physicochemical properties was analyzed by SPSS software. The results showed that the species composition of rhizosphere fungi and bacteria in A. euchroma from different habitats was similar at the phylum and genus levels, but their relative abundance, richness index(Chao1), and community diversity(Simpson) index were different. Correlation analysis showed that the content of available phosphorus in soil was positively correlated with the content of total hydroxynaphthoquinone pigment and β,β'-dimethylacrylalkannin, and the abundance of five fungal genera such as Solicoccozyma and six bacterial genera such as Pseudo-nocardia and Bradyrhizobium was positively correlated with the content of medicinal components in medicinal materials. The abundance of Bradyrhizobium was significantly positively correlated with the content of β,β'-dimethylacrylalkanin. The abundance of fungi such as Archaeorhizomyces was significantly positively correlated with the content of available phosphorus in rhizosphere soil, and Bradyrhizobium was significantly negatively correlated with soil pH. Therefore, the abundance of fungi and bacteria in the rhizosphere of A. euchroma has a certain correlation with the medicinal components and the physicochemical properties of the rhizosphere soil, which can provide a scientific basis for the selection of ecological planting bases in the later stage.

Abstract
Dental caries is a dynamic disease induced by the unbalance between demineralization of dental hard tissues caused by biofilm and remineralization of them; however, although various effective remineralization methods have been well documented, it is a challenge to reestablish the balance by enhancing remineralization alone while ignoring the antibacterial therapy. Therefore, the integration of remineralizing and antibacterial technologies offers a promising strategy to halt natural caries progression in clinical practice. Here, the conception of interrupting dental caries (IDC) was proposed based on the development of dual-functional coating with remineralizing and antibacterial properties. In this study, bovine serum albumin (BSA) loaded octenidine (OCT) successfully to form a BSA-OCT composite. Subsequently, through fast amyloid-like aggregation, the phase-transited BSA-OCT (PTB-OCT) coating can be covered on teeth, resin composite, or sealant surfaces in 30 min by a simple smearing process. The PTB-OCT coating showed satisfactory effects in promoting the remineralization of demineralized enamel and dentin in vitro. Moreover, this coating also exerted significant acid-resistance stability and anti-biofilm properties. Equally importantly, this coating exhibited promising abilities in reducing the microleakage between the tooth and resin composite in vitro and preventing primary and secondary caries in vivo. In conclusion, this novel dual-functional PTB-OCT coating could reestablish the balance between demineralization and remineralization in the process of caries, thereby potentially preventing or arresting caries.

Abstract
The maintenance of lysosome homeostasis is crucial for cell growth. Lysosome-dependent degradation and metabolism sustain tumor cell survival. Here, we demonstrate that CCDC50 serves as a lysophagy receptor, promoting tumor progression and invasion by controlling lysosomal integrity and renewal. CCDC50 monitors lysosomal damage, recognizes galectin-3 and K63-linked polyubiquitination on damaged lysosomes, and specifically targets them for autophagy-dependent degradation. CCDC50 deficiency causes the accumulation of ruptured lysosomes, impaired autophagic flux, and superfluous reactive oxygen species, consequently leading to cell death and tumor suppression. CCDC50 expression is associated with malignancy, progression to metastasis, and poor overall survival in human melanoma. Targeting CCDC50 suppresses tumor growth and lung metastasis, and enhances the effect of BRAFV600E inhibition. Thus, we demonstrate critical roles of CCDC50-mediated clearance of damaged lysosomes in supporting tumor growth, hereby identifying a potential therapeutic target of melanoma.

Abstract
To investigate two clusters of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) in Xinyang City, Henan Province, in 2022, and analyze their causes, transmission route, risk factors, and the characteristics of virus genetic variation. Case search and case investigation were carried out according to the case definition. Blood samples from cases, family members and neighbors and samples of biological vectors were collected for RT-PCR to detect SFTSV. The whole genome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis were performed on the collected positive samples. A total of two clustered outbreaks occurred, involving two initial cases and ten secondary cases, all of which were family recurrent cases. Among them, nine secondary cases had close contact with the blood of the initial case, and it was determined that close contact with blood was the main risk factor for the two clustered outbreaks. After genome sequencing analysis, we found that the SFTSV genotype in two cases was type A, which was closely related to previous endemic strains in Xinyang. The nucleotide sequence of the SFTSV in the case was highly homologous, with a total of nine amino acid mutation sites in the coding region. It was not ruled out that its mutation sites might have an impact on the outbreak of the epidemic.

Abstract
Over the past few decades, exciton-polaritons have attracted substantial research interest due to their half-light-half-matter bosonic nature. Coupling exciton-polaritons with magnetic orders grants access to rich many-body phenomena, but has been limited by the availability of material systems that exhibit simultaneous exciton resonances and magnetic ordering. Here we report magnetically-dressed microcavity exciton-polaritons in the van der Waals antiferromagnetic (AFM) semiconductor CrSBr coupled to a Tamm plasmon microcavity. Using angle-resolved spectroscopy, we reveal an exceptionally high exciton-photon coupling strength, up to 169 meV, demonstrating ultrastrong coupling that persists up to room temperature. By performing temperature-dependent spectroscopy, we show the magnetic nature of the exciton-polaritons in CrSBr microcavity as the magnetic order changes from AFM to paramagnetic. By applying an out-of-plane magnetic field, we achieve effective tuning of the polariton energy while maintaining the ultrastrong exciton-photon coupling strength. We attribute this to the spin canting process that modulates the interlayer exciton interaction.

Abstract
Graphene has aroused great attention due to the intriguing properties associated with its low-energy Dirac Hamiltonian. When graphene is coupled with a correlated insulating substrate, electronic states that cannot be revealed in either individual layer may emerge in a synergistic manner. Here, we theoretically study the correlated and topological states in Coulomb-coupled and gate-tunable graphene-insulator heterostructures. By electrostatically aligning the electronic bands, charge carriers transferred between graphene and the insulator can yield a long-wavelength electronic crystal at the interface, exerting a superlattice Coulomb potential on graphene and generating topologically nontrivial subbands. This coupling can further boost electron-electron interaction effects in graphene, leading to a spontaneous bandgap formation at the Dirac point and interaction-enhanced Fermi velocity. Reciprocally, the electronic crystal at the interface is substantially stabilized with the help of cooperative interlayer Coulomb coupling. We propose a number of substrate candidates for graphene to experimentally demonstrate these effects.

Abstract
Atopic dermatitis(AD)is a chronic, recurrent, inflammatory skin disease in children. The disease is characterized by dryness, chronic eczema-like lesions and obvious itching, seriously affecting the quality of life of children and their families. The pathogenesis of AD is not yet to be clear, and it might be the interaction of genetic susceptibility and environmental exposure to induce skin barrier impairment and immune system dysfunction. In recent years, the role of maternal factors or intrauterine environment exposure on childhood allergic diseases has been attracted attention, and the hypothesis that allergic diseases originate from the fetal period has been postulated. Maternal exposures called "early life exposure", such as nutritional factors during pregnancy (folate, vitamin D, vitamin E and polyunsaturated fatty acid) and tobacco exposure, home environmental exposure may be related with childhood atopic dermatitis. This article would focus on the recent research about maternal nutritional factors and family environmental exposure during pregnancy on offspring's atopic dermatitis.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Gastroscopy is one of the most commonly used diagnostic modalities for upper gastrointestinal disorders. This study compared the effect of ciprofol and propofol on swallowing function during painless gastroenteroscopy. METHODS This was a single-center, placebo-controlled randomized trial. Three hundred sixty-eight patients undergoing painless gastroscopy were included in this study and randomly divided into 2 groups: the propofol group (PRO group, n = 183) and the ciprofol group (CIP group, n = 185). Sufentanil, ciprofol, and propofol are used to anesthetize the patients, and the effects of different solutions on these patients are compared and analyzed. The patient's general condition, vocal cord adduction reflex, dysphagia severity score, penetration and aspiration scale score, vital signs at different times, complications, recovery time (minutes), residence time in the resuscitation room (minutes), and adverse reactions were recorded. RESULTS During the examination, the incidence of severe swallowing dysfunction in CIP group was lower than that in PRO group (P < .05). The BP in CIP group was higher than that in PRO Group (P < .05). The HR of CIP group was lower than that of PRO Group (P < .05). SpO2 in CIP group was higher than that in PRO Group (P < .05). The recovery time of CIP group was longer than that of PRO Group, and the postanesthesia care unit stay time of PRO group was longer than that of CIP group(P < .05). The incidence of respiratory depression, hypotension and cough in CIP group was lower than that in PRO Group (P < .05). The incidence of injection pain in CIP group was lower than that in PRO Group (P < .05). CONCLUSION Compared with propofol, ciprofol has less inhibition on swallowing function, less impact on hemodynamics, less respiratory depression, and less injection pain, which is more suitable for painless gastroscopy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine the effect of a 6-month traditional Chinese mind-body Baduanjin exercise intervention on cognitive ability in older people with Mild cognitive impairment (MCI). METHODS A total of 135 community-dwelling seniors with MCI were randomized into either the Baduanjin group (BDJ), the brisk walking group (BWK) or the usual physical activity control group (UPA). Cognitive ability was assessed at baseline, 2, 4 and 6 months post-intervention, and 3 months after the intervention ended. RESULTS After 6 months of intervention, the MoCA score of the BDJ group was significantly higher than that of the UPA group (P < 0.05), The Go/No-go correct numbers of the BDJ group and BWK group were significantly higher than those of the UPA group (P < 0.05). There was no statistical difference in other outcomes, or there were only a tiny effect size. Three months after the intervention, there was no significant difference between the primary and secondary outcomes(P > 0.05). CONCLUSION The 6-month period of Baduanjin training has positive benefits on global cognitive function and attention function in community-dwelling elderly individuals with MCI. The effect seems to have been transient and needs to be confirmed by additional studies.

Abstract
Blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) rhizosphere microorganisms can significantly increase the absorption area and improve the efficiency of rhizospheric nutrient uptake. However, there has been little research on blueberry rhizosphere microorganisms, especially those that can complement root function deficiency. In this study, we analyzed the rhizosphere fungi of 'O'Neal,' 'Sharpblue,' and 'Premier' blueberry cultivars and found that 'Premier' blueberries showed strong growth potential and relatively high root regulation ability. The dominant symbiotic fungus Sistotrema was correlated with the strong growth of 'Premier' and was directionally screened and isolated based on conserved gene structures and COG function analysis. This fungus was reinoculated onto the roots of 'Gulfcoast' and 'Star' blueberry cultivars. Sistotrema promoted the growth of blueberries and improved their ability to resist stress and grow under adverse conditions, as indicated by maintained or increased chlorophyll content under such conditions. Further analyses showed that Sistotrema has certain functional characteristics such as the ability to dissolve iron in its insoluble form and then release it, to fix nitrogen, and to inhibit nitrification in soil. Thus, it effectively doubled the soil nitrogen content and increased the soluble iron content in soil by 50%. This investigation indicates sistotrema inoculation as an approach to increase blueberry stress tolerance and complete their root nutrition deficiency.

Abstract
Bone defects caused by bone trauma, infection, surgery, or other systemic diseases remain a severe challenge for the medical field. To address this clinical problem, different hydrogels were exploited to promote bone tissue regrowth and regeneration. Keratins are natural fibrous proteins found in wool, hair, horns, nails, and feather. Due to their unique characteristics of outstanding biocompatibility, great biodegradability, and hydrophilic, keratins have been widely applicated in different fields. In our study, the feather keratin-montmorillonite nanocomposite hydrogels that consist of keratin hydrogels serving as the scaffold support to accommodate endogenous stem cells and montmorillonite is synthesized. The introduction of montmorillonite greatly improves the osteogenic effect of the keratin hydrogels via bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2)/phosphorylated small mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 1/5/8 (p-SMAD 1/5/8)/runt-related transcription factor 2 (RUNX2) expression. Moreover, the incorporation of montmorillonite into hydrogels can improve the mechanical properties and bioactivity of the hydrogels. The morphology of feather keratin-montmorillonite nanocomposite hydrogels was shown by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to have an interconnected porous structure. The incorporation of montmorillonite into the keratin hydrogels was confirmed by the energy dispersive spectrum (EDS). We prove that the feather keratin-montmorillonite nanocomposite hydrogels enhance the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs. Furthermore, micro-CT and histological analysis of rat cranial bone defect demonstrated that feather keratin-montmorillonite nanocomposite hydrogels dramatically stimulated bone regeneration in vivo. Collectively, feather keratin-montmorillonite nanocomposite hydrogels can regulate BMP/SMAD signaling pathway to stimulate osteogenic differentiation of endogenous stem cells and promote bone defect healing, indicating their promising candidate in bone tissue engineering.

Abstract
A promising approach to the next generation of low-power, functional, and energy-efficient electronics relies on novel materials with coupled magnetic and electric degrees of freedom. In particular, stripy antiferromagnets often exhibit broken crystal and magnetic symmetries, which may bring about the magnetoelectric (ME) effect and enable the manipulation of intriguing properties and functionalities by electrical means. The demand for expanding the boundaries of data storage and processing technologies has led to the development of spintronics toward two-dimensional (2D) platforms. This work reports the ME effect in the 2D stripy antiferromagnetic insulator CrOCl down to a single layer. By measuring the tunneling resistance of CrOCl on the parameter space of temperature, magnetic field, and applied voltage, we verified the ME coupling down to the 2D limit and probed its mechanism. Utilizing the multi-stable states and ME coupling at magnetic phase transitions, we realize multi-state data storage in the tunneling devices. Our work not only advances the fundamental understanding of spin-charge coupling, but also demonstrates the great potential of 2D antiferromagnetic materials to deliver devices and circuits beyond the traditional binary operations.

Abstract
To investigate the clinical efficacy of the posterior endoscopic cervical modified trench technique in the treatment of cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM). This retrospective study included 9 patients with single-segment CSM, who were treated with posterior endoscopic cervical modified trench technique. Related clinical data, the visual analog scale, Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) ratings, JOA improvement rate, the minimum sagittal diameter of the spinal canal, and surgical complications were recorded. There were 5 men and 4 females, with an average age of 60.44 ± 16.49 years. Without any significant side effects like paralysis, vascular damage, or cerebrospinal fluid leaking, all surgeries were successfully completed. One year's worth of follow-up with patients lasted for 8.56 ± 3.68 months. When compared to before surgery, the postoperative visual analog scale ratings, JOA scores, and minimum sagittal diameter of the spinal canal value all showed a substantial improvement (P < .01). At the most recent follow-up, 2 patients had a JOA improvement rate of >75%, 6 patients had a JOA improvement rate of 74 to 50%, 1 patient had a JOA improvement rate of 49 to 25%, and none had a JOA improvement rate of <25%. The JOA improvement rate was above 90% for overall excellent and good ratings. In our study, the ventral epidural space may be maneuvered more easily and instrument-induced nerve discomfort is decreased when using the posterior endoscopic cervical modified trench approach with posterior endoscopy. The short-term clinical effect of the posterior endoscopic cervical modified trench technique for CSM is satisfactory.

Abstract
Although previous studies have yielded valuable insights into shale gas reservoirs, a comprehensive understanding of the organic geochemical characteristics and organic matter enrichment of marine-continental transitional shale has yet to be achieved. The Longtan Formation transitional shales were extensively deposited in Southern Anhui Province, South China, during the Late Permian. Our analysis of twenty-two rock samples from one core (Gangdi-1 well) and two outcrops (Daoshanchong outcrop and Changqiao outcrop) revealed that the Longtan Formation shale extracts exhibit a wide range of C11-C35n-alkanes and acyclic isoprenoids, with unimodal, bimodal, and multimodal distributions. The carbon peak ranges from nC15 to nC24, with high quantities of medium-chain n-alkanes (nC22-nC25), indicating that the organic matter in Longtan Formation shale originates from a mixed source of higher plant debris and lower aquatic organisms. Our conclusion is supported by the ternary diagram of C27-C28-C29 regular steranes and the variations of the δ13C values of C15-C32n-alkanes, which is higher than the corresponding value (<1.6‰) of n-alkanes from a single source. Furthermore, thermal maturity proxies based on organic petrography (Ro and Tmax) and biomarkers, such as the ratios of C31 22S/(22S + 22R), C29 20S/(20S + 20R), and C29 ββ/(αα + ββ), suggest that organic matter is in a mature stage of hydrocarbon generation. By analyzing the Pr/Ph ratio and pyrite morphology combined with a plot of total organic carbon (TOC) versus total sulfur (TS) and the Pr/nC17-Ph/nC18 diagram, we speculate that the Longtan Formation shales were chiefly developed in a dysoxic-to-oxic water environment. Finally, we establish depositional models of organic matter enrichment in deltaic and tidal flat-lagoon environments, emphasizing that the abundant mixed-sourced organic matter can significantly enhance primary productivity, and a higher sedimentation rate can distinctly shorten organic matter exposure time in the oxidized water environment, thereby promoting organic matter accumulation in such a setting.

Abstract
Since about 2010, life expectancy at birth in the United States has stagnated and begun to decline, with concurrent increases in the socioeconomic divide in life expectancy. The Simulation of Alcohol Control Policies for Health Equity (SIMAH) Project uses a novel microsimulation approach to investigate the extent to which alcohol use, socioeconomic status (SES), and race/ethnicity contribute to unequal developments in US life expectancy and how alcohol control interventions could reduce such inequalities. Representative, secondary data from several sources will be integrated into one coherent, dynamic microsimulation to model life-course changes in SES and alcohol use and cause-specific mortality attributable to alcohol use by SES, race/ethnicity, age, and sex. Markov models will be used to inform transition intensities between levels of SES and drinking patterns. The model will be used to compare a baseline scenario with multiple counterfactual intervention scenarios. The preliminary results indicate that the crucial microsimulation component provides a good fit to observed demographic changes in the population, providing a robust baseline model for further simulation work. By demonstrating the feasibility of this novel approach, the SIMAH Project promises to offer superior integration of relevant empirical evidence to inform public health policy for a more equitable future.

Abstract
We estimate the effects of alcohol taxation, minimum unit pricing (MUP), and restricted temporal availability on overall alcohol consumption and review their differential impact across sociodemographic groups. Web of Science, Medline, PsycInfo, Embase, and EconLit were searched on 08/12/2022 and 09/26/2022 for studies on newly introduced or changed alcohol policies published between 2000 and 2022 (Prospero registration: CRD42022339791). We combined data using random-effects meta-analyses. Risk of bias was assessed using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Of 1887 reports, 36 were eligible. Doubling alcohol taxes or introducing MUP (Int$ 0.90/10 g of pure alcohol) reduced consumption by 10% (for taxation: 95% prediction intervals [PI]: -18.5%, -1.2%; for MUP: 95% PI: -28.2%, 5.8%), restricting alcohol sales by one day a week reduced consumption by 3.6% (95% PI: -7.2%, -0.1%). Substantial between-study heterogeneity contributes to high levels of uncertainty and must be considered in interpretation. Pricing policies resulted in greater consumption changes among low-income alcohol users, while results were inconclusive for other socioeconomic indicators, gender, and racial and ethnic groups. Research is needed on the differential impact of alcohol policies, particularly for groups bearing a disproportionate alcohol-attributable health burden. Abstract
BACKGROUND The cognitive benefits of early non-pharmacological approaches have been demonstrated in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). However, older adults living in nursing homes have more severe cognitive impairment problems and lower initiative and compliance to participate in complex interventions. Hence, it important to investigate more attractive and sustainable methods to prevent or delay cognitive decline. The present study adopts the self-determination theory (SDT) as a theoretical framework to innovatively develop an integrated art-based intervention for older adults with MCI in nursing homes in China and aims to evaluate its effects on cognitive function, mental health, and other health-related outcomes. METHODS The study is a nursing home-based, cluster randomised controlled trial (RCT) that targets older adults (aged ≥ 60 years) with MCI in Fuzhou City, China. All nursing homes in the area covered by Fuzhou City are invited to participate. Eligible nursing homes are randomised to one of two groups: intervention group (receive a 14-week, 27-session intervention) and waitlist control group (receive the usual care). The SDT-based integrated creative art (SDTICA) program reasonably adopts the SDT as a theoretical framework to innovatively develop an integrated art-based intervention for older adults with MCI in nursing homes. The primary (global cognitive function and psychological indicator) and secondary (daily activity function, social function, and specific domains of cognitive function) outcomes will be measured at baseline, after the intervention, and during follow-up. DISCUSSION This study aims to evaluate the effects of SDTICA program on neuropsychological outcomes in older adults with MCI and provide scientific evidence for art-based non-pharmacologic interventions in nursing homes, which may reduce dementia risk in older adults with MCI. TRIAL REGISTRATION The trial was prospectively registered at the Chinese Clinical Trials Registry with the registration number ChiCTR2200061681 on 30 June 2022.

Abstract
The realization of graphene gapped states with large on/off ratios over wide doping ranges remains challenging. Here, we investigate heterostructures based on Bernal-stacked bilayer graphene (BLG) atop few-layered CrOCl, exhibiting an over-1-GΩ-resistance insulating state in a widely accessible gate voltage range. The insulating state could be switched into a metallic state with an on/off ratio up to 107 by applying an in-plane electric field, heating, or gating. We tentatively associate the observed behavior to the formation of a surface state in CrOCl under vertical electric fields, promoting electron-electron (e-e) interactions in BLG via long-range Coulomb coupling. Consequently, at the charge neutrality point, a crossover from single particle insulating behavior to an unconventional correlated insulator is enabled, below an onset temperature. We demonstrate the application of the insulating state for the realization of a logic inverter operating at low temperatures. Our findings pave the way for future engineering of quantum electronic states based on interfacial charge coupling.

Abstract
Wide-ranging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have led to increased psychological distress and alcohol consumption, and disproportionate hardship for disadvantaged groups. Early in the pandemic, telehealth services were expanded to maintain healthcare access amidst lockdowns, medical office closures, and fear of infection. This study examines general and behavioral healthcare access and disparities during the first year of the pandemic. Data are from the 2019-2020 US National Alcohol Survey (collected February 2019 to April 2020) and its COVID follow-up survey conducted January 30 to March 28, 2021 (N = 1819). General and behavioral healthcare-related outcomes were assessed at follow-up, and included perceived need for and receipt of care, delayed care, and use of telehealth since April 1, 2020. Results indicate that the majority of respondents with perceived need for healthcare received some behavioral healthcare (reported by 63%) and particularly general healthcare (88%), but nearly half (48%) delayed needed care. Delays were mostly due to COVID-related reasons, but cost barriers also were common and significantly impeded care-seeking by uninsured persons, young adults, rural residents, and persons whose employment was reduced by the pandemic. Disparities in the receipt of healthcare were pronounced for Hispanic/Latinx (vs. White) and lower-income (vs. higher-income) groups (AORs <0.37, p's < 0.05). Notably, telehealth was commonly used by Hispanic/Latinx and lower-income groups for general and particularly behavioral healthcare. Results suggest that telehealth has provided an important bridge to healthcare for certain medically underserved groups during the pandemic, and may be vital to future efforts to increase equity in healthcare access.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aims to investigate the regulatory effect of hypoxia on human periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) through RNA sequencing (RNA SEQ). Human PDLSCs were cultured in normoxia (20% O2 ) or hypoxia (2% O2 ). MATERIAL AND METHODS Total RNA was extracted and sequenced. The expression profiles of circRNAs, lncRNAs, and miRNAs were determined, and the lncRNA/circRNA-miRNA-mRNA networks were analyzed. RESULTS In total, 15 miRNAs, 449 lncRNAs, and 53 circRNAs were differentially expressed. Among them, 21 circRNAs, 262 lncRNAs, 5 miRNAs, and 5 mRNAs were selected to construct competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) networks. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analyses were carried out to explore potential related pathways and regulatory functions. Several ceRNA axes (lncRNA-FTX/circRNA-FAT1-hsa-miR-4781-3p-SMAD5 and circRNA LPAR1-hsa-miR-342-3p-ADAR) may provide a theoretical basis on the study of osteogenic differentiation of PDLSCs under hypoxia. CONCLUSION This study revealed that the expression profiles of circRNAs, lncRNAs, and miRNAs had changed significantly in PDLSCs cultured in 2% O2 ; specific circRNAs/lncRNAs may play a competitive role in the differentiation of PDLSCs.

Abstract
Bacteria-induced biodegradation techniques have become an effective approach for removing pesticide residues from polluted soils. However, their effect on chiral fungicides must be systematically evaluated and the efficiency and risk of each chiral enantiomer must be better understood. In this study, we isolated and enriched seven bacterial strains that are able to degrade mandipropamid from contaminated soil samples. Three bacterial strains with high degradation efficiency (63.6%-73.4%) were screened and identified as Pseudomonas sp. (M01), Mycolicibacterium parafortuitum (MW05), and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia (MW09) by morphological and 16S rRNA gene sequencing analyses. The degradation characteristics of three strains (M01, MW05, and MW09) was investigated and it was revealed that pH, temperature, and initial concentration of mandipropamid significantly impacted their degradation efficiency. The optimal conditions for degradation were a nutrient source of mandipropamid and an inoculation amount of 5%. We used a Box-Behnken model experiment and an analysis of variance to determine the most suitable conditions for degrading mandipropamid at various pH, temperature, and initial concentration levels. A response surface methodology analysis showed that the three strains had the highest mandipropamid degradation efficiency (> 96%) under various conditions (pH: 7.15-7.71, temperature: 28.61-30.76 °C, initial concentration: 5.524-5.934 mg/L). Mycelial, intracellular, and extracellular enzymes also had an impact on the degradation of mandipropamid enantiomers by the three strains. In soil remediation trials, the three bacterial strains could effectively enantioselectively degrade rac-mandipropamid residues in polluted sterilized and natural soil samples (R-enantiomer was degraded faster) and influence the activity of urease and β-glucosidase in the soil. The results revealed several candidate bacterial strains for mandipropamid biodegradation and provide information on mandipropamid biological detoxification in soil environments.
