Abstract
BACKGROUND Impaired decision-making was observed in internet gaming disorder (IGD), however, these studies did not differentiate 'hard' to 'easy' decisions, and only the 'hard' decision-making could reveal the mechanism underlying this issue. METHODS We recruited forty-eight individuals with IGD and forty-six recreational internet game users (RGUs) as a control group in this study. fMRI data were collected when they were finishing a value-matching delayed discount task (DDT), which included easy and hard decisions judging based on the indifference points of every participant. The correlations between brain responses during DDT and IGD severity and the effective connectivity between brain regions were calculated. RESULTS Compared to RGUs, IGD subjects showed enhanced activation in the orbitofrontal cortex (OFC) when facing hard choices, and this feature was associated with IGD severity. In addition, individuals with IGD showed increased effective connectivity from the OFC to the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex and the OFC to the occipital lobe and decreased effective connectivity from the occipital lobe to the OFC. CONCLUSION The current study showed that the abnormal activation in the OFC was associated with IGD severity and higher OFC-DLPFC/OFC-occipital lobe effective connectivity and lower occipital lobe-OFC effective connectivity when individuals with IGD faced different choices in the DDT. These findings suggest the neural mechanisms of impulsive decision-making in individuals with IGD due to dysfunction with subjective evaluation and dysfunction of the connection with the executive control system.

Abstract
Two-thirds of individuals experience adversity during childhood such as neglect, abuse or highly-stressful events. Early-life adversity (ELA) increases the life-long risk of developing mood and substance use disorders. Reward-related deficits has emerged as a key endophenotype of such psychiatric disorders. Animal models are invaluable for studying how ELA leads to reward deficits. However, the existing literature is heterogenous with difficult to reconcile findings. To create an overview, we conducted a systematic review containing multiple meta-analyses regarding the effects of ELA on reward processes overall and on specific aspects of reward processing in animal models. A comprehensive search identified 120 studies. Most studies omitted key details resulting in unclear risk of bias. Overall meta-analysis showed that ELA significantly reduced reward behaviors (SMD: -0.42 [-0.60; -0.24]). The magnitude of ELA effects significantly increased with longer exposure. When reward domains were analyzed separately, ELA only significantly dampened reward responsiveness (SMD: -0.525[-0.786; -0.264]) and social reward processing (SMD: -0.374 [-0.663; -0.084]), suggesting that ELA might lead to deficits in specific reward domains.

Abstract
The analysis of licking microstructure provides measures which might be interpreted in terms of psychological constructs, such as pleasure and motivation, relevant for the interpretation of the effects of antidepressant drugs. The aim of this study was to characterise the effect of the prototypical antidepressant imipramine on the microstructure of licking for a 10% sucrose solution. In particular, ten 30-min sessions were performed in the course of a daily 21 day treatment with imipramine - 5, 10 and 20 mg/kg/die administered intraperitoneally. To interpret drug effects in relation to the presumed concentration of imipramine and its active metabolite desipramine, the experimental sessions were performed in an alternate order either 1-h or 24-h after imipramine administration. In the sessions performed 1-h after drug administration, the results showed a dose-dependent reduction of sucrose ingestion, accounted for by a reduction of the licking burst number. Moreover, reduced intra-burst lick rate and increased latency to lick were observed with the highest doses. Imipramine effect in the sessions performed 24-h after drug administration was similar but less pronounced. These results are consistent with the hypothesis that the reduction of sucrose ingestion might be due to reduced motivation and/or to a potentiation of satiety signals. These effects appear to be related, at least in part, to brain drug levels at testing time, and do not seem related to the mechanisms underlying the antidepressant therapeutic effect. However, these results might be relevant in explaining the effects of imipramine in models of drug-seeking and on body weight.

Abstract
Perceived ownership has been shown to impact a variety of cognitive processes: attention, memory, and--more recently--reward processing. In the present experiment we examined whether or not perceived ownership would interact with the construct of value-the relative worth of an object. Participants completed a simple gambling game in which they gambled either for themselves or for another while electroencephalographic data were recorded. In a key manipulation, gambles for oneself or for another were for either small or large rewards. We tested the hypothesis that value affects the neural response to self-gamble outcomes, but not other-gamble outcomes. Our experimental data revealed that while participants learned the correct response option for both self and other gambles, the reward positivity evoked by wins was impacted by value only when gambling for oneself. Importantly, our findings provide additional evidence for a self-ownership bias in cognitive processing and further demonstrate the insensitivity of the medial-frontal reward system to gambles for another.
