Abstract
The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has spread globally; however, the COVID-19 mortality rate varies largely across countries. The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting mortality and increase in mortality rate by time trends in 30 member countries of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). These countries have different national health and medical characteristics in terms of health care use, health equipment, health resource, health risk, and health status at different time points. The results revealed that the lower 25% of countries had an increase in the mortality rate of 27.21% which was higher than the upper 25% of countries' increase in the mortality rate of 20.51%. Therefore, the affected countries should strengthen their medical infrastructure to prepare for such large-scale outbreaks in the future. It is imperative to reduce the health inequality between population groups and achieve health equity, regardless of the income gap, rather than vaccination of specific countries. This will require the management of non-communicable diseases, a solid health insurance system, a stable supply of medical supplies, and strengthening the competency of health care workers.

Abstract
Concrete structures are constructed in various geographical environments and climates, and frequently fail to fulfill their original functions over time due to issues such as aging and damage. Research on concrete structure repair materials is being conducted to solve these problems. This study evaluated the durability of a repair material composed of ultra-rapid hardening cement, styrene-butadiene (SB) latex polymer, and wollastonite mineral fiber. The performance targets were as follows: compressive strength of 20 MPa at 1 day of age and 45 MPa at 28 days of age, chloride ion charge passed of less than 1000 Coulombs, carbonation depth of 20 mm or less, and resistance to repeated freezing and thawing (relative dynamic modulus of elasticity) of 80% or more. The ultra-rapid hardening cement:silica sand ratio of 1:1.5 was the experimental variable, and the unit weight of each material in the mix proportion was determined to satisfy the flow requirement of 200 ± 5 mm. This flow ensured sufficient fluidity for spraying, which is the most widely used method for applying repair material. Wollastonite mineral fiber and SB latex polymer were added at 3% and 5% of the unit weight of the binder, respectively. The mechanical property of the repair material was evaluated through compressive strength, and durability was evaluated through chloride ion penetration, alkali resistance, resistance to carbonation, water absorption, and repeated freezing and thawing tests. The compressive strength satisfied both target values, regardless of the addition of SB latex polymer and wollastonite mineral fiber. The chloride ion penetration test, which was used as an indicator of durability, showed that mixtures without SB latex and wollastonite mineral fiber were not satisfied the target charge passed of 1000 Coulombs, while mixtures with latex and mineral fiber reached the target value. Notably, the co-addition of latex and wollastonite fiber showed the highest resistance to chloride ion penetration, alkali ion, carbonation, repeated freezing and thawing, and the least absorption. The results confirmed that the durability of the repair material based on ultra-rapid hardening cement was most effectively improved by the co-addition of SB latex polymer and wollastonite mineral fiber.

Abstract
Claudin-11(CLDN11) is a component of tight junction, and important for normal CNS functions. The function of CLDN11 is well elucidated in oligodendrocytes and CNS system, but its expression pattern according to human vascular bed such as intracranial and extracranial, role in the vascular smooth muscles (vSMCs) plasticity and atherosclerosis is still unknown. Human left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) and middle cerebral artery (MCA) vascular smooth muscle layer was dissected from the dead body. CLDN11 expression is identified in LAD and MCA vascular smooth muscle cell layer, and the CLDN11 expression is higher in MCA than in LAD (p<0.01). Interestingly, the CLDN11 expression is decreased in vSMCs around the atherosclerotic lesions compare to non-atheromatous lesions by immunohistochemistry. To determine the functional role of CLDN11 in vSMCs, microarray analysis was performed following siCLDN11 knockdown. Compared to normal HASMC (human aortic vascular smooth muscle cells), siCLDN11-HASMC was showed increased gene expression such as RSPO3, CXCL8, EGR3, CYP1B1, TNFAIP2, PTGS2, HEY1, BMPER and these set was related to cell migration, proliferation and angiogenesis. CLDN11 knockdown vSMCs showed increased the cell migration of HASMC measured by wound healing, tube formation, and cell cycle assay, and reduced cas-3 cleavage. Finally, CLDN11 expression was inversely correlated with the progression of coronary atherosclerosis and the sudden cardiac death with complicated coronary atherosclerosis. This study shows that CLDN11 play a role in the initiation and propagation of atherosclerosis by regulating the plasticity of vSMCs, suggesting the possibility of biological marker for atherosclerosis in clinical diagnosis (This work was supported by NRF-2019R1A2C1089108, NRF-2019M3E5D1A02068082, COMPA-2022C100, and BK21 Program, Center for Glocal Future Biomedical Scientists at Chonnam National University).

Abstract
OBJECTIVES There are scant primary clinical data on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) burden from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). We adapted recent World Health Organization methodology to measure the impact of third-generation cephalosporin resistance (3GC-R) on mortality and excess length of hospital stay in Fiji. METHODS We conducted a prospective cohort study of inpatients with Enterobacterales bloodstream infections (BSIs) at Colonial War Memorial Hospital, Suva. We used cause-specific Cox proportional hazards models to estimate the effect of 3GC-R on the daily risk (hazard) of in-hospital mortality and being discharged alive (competing risks), and multistate modelling to estimate the excess length of hospital stay. RESULTS From July 2020 to February 2021 we identified 162 consecutive Enterobacterales BSIs, 3GC-R was present in 66 (40.7%). Crude mortality for patients with 3GC-susceptible and 3GC-R BSIs was 16.7% (16/96) and 30.3% (20/66), respectively. 3GC-R was not associated with the in-hospital mortality hazard rate (adjusted hazard ratio (aHR) 1.13, 95% CI 0.51-2.53) or being discharged alive (aHR 0.99, 95% CI 0.65-1.50), whereas Charlson comorbidity index score (aHR 1.62, 95% CI 1.36-1.93) and Pitt bacteraemia score (aHR 3.57, 95% CI 1.31-9.71) were both associated with an increased hazard rate of in-hospital mortality. 3GC-R was associated with an increased length of stay of 2.6 days (95% CI 2.5-2.8). 3GC-R was more common among hospital-associated infections, but genomics did not identify clonal transmission. CONCLUSION Patients with Enterobacterales BSIs in Fiji had high mortality. There were high rates of 3GC-R, which was associated with increased hospital length of stay but not with in-hospital mortality.

Abstract
Health-related quality of life (HRQoL) concerns satisfaction with life and happiness with regard to physical, mental, and social factors. RAND-36 is a publicly available, self-administered questionnaire that examines eight health dimensions. This study evaluated the HRQoL of the South Korean population using the RAND-36 questionnaire and compared HRQoL across sociodemographic characteristics. From May 2015 to May 2019, South Koreans who visited public places aged 19−80 years were recruited and the RAND-36 questionnaire was administered. Overall, 1002 participants were recruited (mean age 45.34 years, 52% men). Men scored better than women in both physical and mental health (p < 0.05). There were significant differences in bodily pain (p < 0.05), general health perception (p < 0.05), and energy/fatigue (p < 0.05) dimensions according to the participants’ health condition. The HRQoL of South Koreans was lower than average in most dimensions compared with other countries. As the first study to assess this, its data can be used in future studies that apply RAND-36 to evaluate the HRQoL of diseased individuals, as they can compare their findings with those of our study population.

Abstract
Drug-induced cardiotoxicity reduces the success rates of drug development. Thus, the limitations of current evaluation methods must be addressed. Human cardiac organoids (hCOs) derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) are useful as an advanced drug-testing model; they demonstrate similar electrophysiological functionality and drug reactivity as the heart. How-ever, similar to other organoid models, they have immature characteristics compared to adult hearts, and exhibit batch-to-batch variation. As the cell cycle is important for the mesodermal differentiation of stem cells, we examined the effect of ZM447439, an aurora kinase inhibitor that regulates the cell cycle, on cardiogenic differentiation. We determined the optimal concentration and timing of ZM447439 for the differentiation of hCOs from hiPSCs and developed a novel protocol for efficiently and reproducibly generating beating hCOs with improved electrophysiological functionality, contractility, and yield. We validated their maturity through electro-physiological- and image-based functional assays and gene profiling with next-generation sequencing, and then applied these cells to multi-electrode array platforms to monitor the cardio-toxicity of drugs related to cardiac arrhythmia; the results confirmed the drug reactivity of hCOs. These findings may enable determination of the regulatory mechanism of cell cycles underlying the generation of iPSC-derived hCOs, providing a valuable drug testing platform.

Abstract
Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is an autosomal dominant human genetic disorder. The progression of benign plexiform neurofibromas to malignant peripheral nerve sheet tumors (MPNSTs) is a major cause of mortality in patients with NF1. Although elevated epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of MPNST, the cause of EGFR overexpression remains unclear. Here, we assessed EGFR expression levels in MPNST tissues of NF1 patients and NF1 patient-derived MPNST cells. We found that the expression of EGFR was upregulated in MPNST tissues and MPNST cells, while the expression of neurofibromin was significantly decreased. Manipulation of NF1 expression by NF1 siRNA treatment or NF1-GAP-related domain overexpression demonstrated that EGFR expression levels were closely and inversely correlated with neurofibromin levels. Notably, knockdown of the NF1 gene by siRNA treatment augmented the nuclear localization of phosphorylated SP1 (pSP1) and enhanced pSP1 binding to the EGFR gene promoter region. Our results suggest that neurofibromin deficiency in NF1-associated MPNSTs enhances the Ras/ERK/SP1 signaling pathway, which in turn may lead to the upregulation of EGFR expression. This study provides insight into the progression of benign tumors and novel therapeutic approaches for treatment of NF1-associated MPNSTs.

Abstract
This study investigated the laxative effects of phlorotannins (Pt) derived from Ecklonia cava (E. cave) on chronic constipation by evaluating alterations in stool parameters, gastrointestinal motility, histopathological structure, mucin secretion, gastrointestinal hormones, muscarinic cholinergic regulation, and fecal microbiota in SD rats with loperamide (Lop)-induced constipation subjected to Pt treatment. Stool-related parameters (including stool number, weight, and water contents), gastrointestinal motility, and length of intestine were significantly enhanced in the Lop+Pt-treated group as compared to the Lop+Vehicle-treated group. A similar recovery was detected in the histopathological and cytological structure of the mid-colon of Lop+Pt-treated rats, although the level of mucin secretion remained constant. Moreover, rats with Lop-induced constipation subjected to Pt treatment showed significant improvements in water channel expression, gastrointestinal hormone secretions, and expression of muscarinic acetylcholine receptors M2/M3 (mAChRs M2/M3) and their mediators of muscarinic cholinergic regulation. Furthermore, the Lop+Pt-treated group showed a significant recovery of Bifidobacteriaceae, Muribaculaceae, Clostridiaceae, and Eubacteriaceae families in fecal microbiota. Taken together, these results provide the first evidence that exposure of SD rats with Lop-induced constipation to Pt improves the constipation phenotype through the regulation of membrane water channel expression, GI hormones, the mAChR signaling pathway, and fecal microbiota.

Abstract
This study evaluated the mechanical properties and durability performance of latex-modified hybrid fiber-reinforced roller-compacted rapid-set cement concrete (LMHFRCRSC) for emergency repair of concrete pavement. Experimental parameters included the blend ratio of the hybrid fiber, which comprised natural jute fiber (0-0.2 vol.%) and structural synthetic fiber (0-2 vol.%). The mechanical performance of LMHFRCRSC of various blend ratios was evaluated in terms of compressive, flexural, and splitting tensile strength. Durability assessment included chlorine ion penetration and abrasion resistance measurements. Compressive and flexural strength values of 21 and 3.5 MPa, respectively, were the set targets after 4 h of curing; a compressive strength of 35 MPa, a flexural strength of 4.5 MPa, a splitting tensile strength of 4.2 MPa, and chloride ion penetration of 2000 C or less were required after 28 days of curing. Our test results confirmed that all mix proportions satisfied the target values, regardless of the blend ratio of the hybrid fiber. Specifically, the mechanical performance of the concrete improved as the blend ratio of the structural synthetic fiber increased. With regard to durability, a greater amount of jute fiber, a hydrophilic fiber, enhanced the concrete's durability. Additionally, incorporating jute fiber of 0.6 kg/m3 provided excellent chlorine ion penetration resistance. The optimal blend ratio for the hybrid fiber was natural jute fiber at 0.6 kg/m3 and structural synthetic fiber at 13.65 kg/m3 (mix: J0.6 + P13.65); with this mix proportion, a chloride ion penetration amount of 1000 C or less and maximum mechanical performance were achieved.

Abstract
Age assessment has attracted increasing attention in the field of forensics. However, most existing works are laborious and requires domain-specific knowledge. Modern computing power makes it is possible to leverage massive amounts of data to produce more reliable results. Therefore, it is logical to use automated age estimation approaches to handle large datasets. In this study, a fully automated age prediction approach was proposed by assessing 3D mandible and femur scans using deep learning. A total of 814 post-mortem computed tomography scans from 619 men and 195 women, within the age range of 20-70, were collected from the National Forensic Service in South Korea. Multiple preprocessing steps were applied for each scan to normalize the image and perform intensity correction to create 3D voxels that represent these parts accurately. The accuracy of the proposed method was evaluated by 10-fold cross-validation. The initial cross-validation results illustrated the potential of the proposed method as it achieved a mean absolute error of 5.15 years with a concordance correlation coefficient of 0.80. The proposed approach is likely to be faster and potentially more reliable, which could be used for age assessment in the future.

Abstract
Small vessel disease is a prevalent age-related condition linked to increased risk of dementia and stroke. We investigate the most commonly inherited form, CADASIL, caused by cysteine-involving mutations in NOTCH3. Recent studies highlight accumulation of NOTCH3 N-terminal fragmentation product (NTF) in disease. In vitro, NTF is capable of both spontaneous and catecholamine-enhanced cysteine-mediated oligomerization. Despite well-characterized genetic influence on CADASIL, environmental effects, including medication usage, on disease remain unclear. We studied effects of assorted electrophilic compounds and drugs on NTF oligomerization by SDS-PAGE and dynamic light scattering. We then examined direct proton pump inhibitor-NTF binding with antibodies designed against proton pump inhibitor-labeled proteins and mass spectrometry. Finally, we used monoclonal NTF antibodies with Proximity Ligation Assay to identify NTF oligomers in 3 CADASIL and 2 age-matched control brains. We identified enhancement of NTF oligomerization by two electrophilic cysteine-modifying compounds, N-ethylmaleimide and iodoacetamide, and an electrophilic compound capable of oxidizing cysteines, ferric chloride. Electrophilic clinical drugs (fenoldopam, omeprazole, tenatoprazole, lansoprazole, and rabeprazole) also promoted oligomerization, and we identified direct omeprazole-NTF and tenatoprazole-NTF complexes. Additionally, we provide novel evidence of NTF multimers in human CADASIL brains. A broad array of electrophilic chemicals, including clinically relevant drugs, influences oligomerization of a pathological CADASIL protein, providing mechanistic insight into disease protein oligomerization. We posit that environmental influences, which may include usage of electrophilic drugs, may affect CADASIL presentations.

Abstract
Werner syndrome (WRN) is a rare progressive genetic disorder, caused by functional defects in WRN protein and RecQ4L DNA helicase. Acceleration of the aging process is initiated at puberty and the expected life span is approximately the late 50 s. However, a Wrn-deficient mouse model does not show premature aging phenotypes or a short life span, implying that aging processes differ greatly between humans and mice. Gene expression analysis of WRN cells reveals very similar results to gene expression analysis of Hutchinson Gilford progeria syndrome (HGPS) cells, suggesting that these human progeroid syndromes share a common pathological mechanism. Here we show that WRN cells also express progerin, an abnormal variant of the lamin A protein. In addition, we reveal that duplicated sequences of human WRN (hWRN) from exon 9 to exon 10, which differ from the sequence of mouse WRN (mWRN), are a natural inhibitor of progerin. Overexpression of hWRN reduced progerin expression and aging features in HGPS cells. Furthermore, the elimination of progerin by siRNA or a progerin-inhibitor (SLC-D011 also called progerinin) can ameliorate senescence phenotypes in WRN fibroblasts and cardiomyocytes, derived from WRN-iPSCs. These results suggest that progerin, which easily accumulates under WRN-deficient conditions, can lead to premature aging in WRN and that this effect can be prevented by SLC-D011.

Abstract
Background: Gender differences in personal discrimination experience, burnout, and job stress among physiotherapists and occupational therapists are considered as associated factors of job loss, poor job quality, high turnover, and economic losses due to the outflow of medical personnel. Thus, the purpose of this study is to analyze the level of burnout, personal discrimination experience, and job stress according to gender differences for young physiotherapists and occupational therapists. Furthermore, we used regression analyses to determine the contribution of gender differences in personal discrimination experience and job stress to self-reported burnout, considering gender and two age groups (younger than 30 years old vs. 30 years old and over). Methods: A total of 325 professional physiotherapists and occupational therapists were part of this study (n = 325; male n = 131; female n = 194. Age: 20–29 years old, n = 178; ≥30 years old, n = 147). Data were collected using a questionnaire including our three study variables (scales: the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), a modified version of the gender section of the Medical School Graduation Questionnaire from the Association of American Medical Colleges; and the Korean version of the Job Content Questionnaire (JCQ)). Further, data on socio-demographic factors, job-related factors, health-related factors, and subjective job satisfaction were also collected. Results: There were significant positive correlations between job stress and gender differences in personal discrimination experience and job stress and burnout in women 30 years old and over. Personal experience of gender discrimination (β = 0.179, p = 0.015) and job stress (β = 0.162, p = 0.028) explained a significant 42.4% of the variance in burnout in the case of younger female participants (20–29 years old). However, this model did not explain a significant amount of the variance in burnout in the case of younger male participants (R2 = 0.156, p = 0.072). Regarding participants aged 30 years and over, our results showed that only job stress (but no personal experience of gender discrimination) was a relevant predictor for both males (β = 0.471, p < 0.001) and females (β = 0.373, p = 0.001). Conclusion: In this study, female therapists showed higher levels of burnout than male therapists. In particular, personal discrimination experience and job stress significantly contributed to burnout in younger female therapists while job stress was the most relevant predictor variable of burnout for both males (under 30 years old and 30 years old and over) and females in their thirties and beyond. For young female physiotherapists and occupational therapists, safe working environments should be created to reduce work-related mental burdens. It is also necessary to consider policies and regulations that can prevent job stress for therapists and measures that can positively resolve the unavoidable job stress.

Abstract
Background Patients unable to take azoles are a neglected group lacking a standardized approach to antifungal prophylaxis. We evaluated the effectiveness and safety of intermittent liposomal amphotericin B (L-AMB) prophylaxis in a heterogenous group of hematology patients. Methods A retrospective cohort of all hematology patients who received a course of intravenous L-AMB, defined as 1 mg/kg thrice weekly from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2018, were identified from pharmacy records. Outcomes included breakthrough-invasive fungal disease (BIFD), reasons for premature discontinuation, and acute kidney injury. Results There were 198 patients who received 273 courses of L-AMB prophylaxis. Using a conservative definition, the BIFD rate was 9.6% (n = 19 of 198) occurring either during L-AMB prophylaxis or up to 7 days from cessation in patients who received a course. Probable/proven BIFD occurred in 13 patients (6.6%, 13 of 198), including molds in 54% (n = 7) and non-albicans Candidemia in 46% (n = 6). Cumulative incidence of BIFD was highest in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (6.8%) followed by acute lymphoblastic leukemia (2.7%) and allogeneic stem cell transplantation (2.5%). The most common indication for L-AMB was chemotherapy, or anticancer drug-azole interactions (75% of courses) dominated by vincristine, or acute myeloid leukemia clinical trials, followed by gut absorption concerns (13%) and liver function abnormalities (8.8%). Acute kidney injury, using a modified international definition, complicated 27% of courses but was not clinically significant, accounting for only 3.3% (9 of 273) of discontinuations. Conclusions Our findings demonstrate a high rate of BIFD among patients receiving L-AMB prophylaxis. Pragmatic trials will help researchers find the optimal regimen of L-AMB prophylaxis for the many clinical scenarios in which azoles are unsuitable, especially as targeted anticancer drugs increase in use.

Abstract
Serum is a stable medium supplement for in vitro cell culture. Live cells are used in stem cell research, drug toxicity and safety testing, disease diagnosis and prevention, and development of antibiotics, drugs, and vaccines. However, use of serum in culture involves concerns such as an ethical debate regarding the collection process, lack of standardized ingredients, and high cost. Herein, therefore, we evaluated the possibility of using edible cyanobacterium (Spirulina maxima), which is a nutrient-rich, sustainable, and ethically acceptable source, as a novel substitute for fetal bovine serum (FBS). H460 cells were cultured to the 10th generation by adding a mixture of spirulina animal cell culture solution (SACCS) and FBS to the culture medium. Cell morphology and viability, cell cycle, apoptosis, proteomes, and transcriptomes were assessed. We observed that SACCS had better growth-promoting capabilities than FBS. Cell proliferation was promoted even when FBS was replaced by 50-70% SACCS; there was no significant difference in cell shape or viability. There were only slight differences in the cell cycle, apoptosis, proteomes, and transcriptomes of the cells grown in presence of SACCS. Therefore, SACCS has the potential to be an effective, low-cost, and eco-friendly alternative to FBS in in vitro culture.

Abstract
We present constraints on the existence of weakly interacting massive particles (WIMPs) from an 11 kg d target exposure of the DAMIC experiment at the SNOLAB underground laboratory. The observed energy spectrum and spatial distribution of ionization events with electron-equivalent energies >200 eV_{ee} in the DAMIC CCDs are consistent with backgrounds from natural radioactivity. An excess of ionization events is observed above the analysis threshold of 50 eV_{ee}. While the origin of this low-energy excess requires further investigation, our data exclude spin-independent WIMP-nucleon scattering cross sections σ_{χ-n} as low as 3×10^{-41} cm^{2} for WIMPs with masses m_{χ} from 7 to 10 GeV c^{-2}. These results are the strongest constraints from a silicon target on the existence of WIMPs with m_{χ}<9 GeV c^{-2} and are directly relevant to any dark matter interpretation of the excess of nuclear-recoil events observed by the CDMS silicon experiment in 2013.

Abstract
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility and satisfaction of an online global health education course for medical students in comparison with an in-person of the course and to assess students' preferences regarding online methods of delivery. METHODS Second-year medical students enrolled in this course in 2019 (in-person) and 2020 (online). The attendance rate, satisfaction in the course evaluation survey, and academic achievement on the written final examination were utilized to compare the two different methods of course delivery. The medical students who took the online course were also asked about their preferences regarding the method of course delivery and the advantages and drawbacks of each method of online lectures. RESULTS There was no significant difference in the attendance rate and overall satisfaction between the two groups. The mean score on the written examination of the online course (84.1±19.6) showed comparable effects to the in-person course (78.0±18.3). The percentages of students who achieved high performance (55.5%) and the achieved minimum requirement (95.9%) were also maintained compared to the in-person course (14.6% and 93.6%, respectively). Medical students preferred the online course to the in-person course; in particular, they preferred prerecorded videos over live streaming online lectures. CONCLUSION The participation, satisfaction, and the academic achievement of the online course were comparable to those of the in-person course. However, the greatest drawback of the online course was the lack of interaction between peer learners. Therefore, diverse methods for online education should be considered to increase students' sense of belonging to a learning community.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Assessment of lymphatic status via sentinel lymph node (SLN) biopsy is an integral and crucial part of melanoma surgical oncology. The most common technique for sentinel node mapping is preoperative planar scintigraphy of an injected gamma-emitting lymphatic tracer followed by intraoperative node localization using a non-imaging gamma probe with auditory feedback. In recent years, intraoperative visualization of SLNs in 3D has become possible by coupling the probe to an external system capable of tracking its location and orientation as it is read out, thereby enabling computation of the 3D distribution of the tracer (freehand SPECT). In this project, the non-imaging probe of the fhSPECT system was replaced by a unique handheld gamma camera containing an array of sodium iodide crystals optically coupled to an array of silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs). A feasibility study was performed in which preoperative SLN mapping was performed using camera fhSPECT and the number of detected nodes was compared to that visualized by lymphoscintigraphy, probe fhSPECT, and to the number ultimately excised under non-imaging probe guidance. RESULTS Among five subjects, SLNs were detected in nine lymphatic basins, with one to five SLNs detected per basin. A basin-by-basin comparison showed that the number of SLNs detected using camera fhSPECT exceeded that using lymphoscintigraphy and probe fhSPECT in seven of nine basins and five of five basins, respectively. (Probe fhSPECT scans were not performed for four basins.) It exceeded the number excised under non-imaging probe guidance for seven of nine basins and equaled the number excised for the other two basins. CONCLUSIONS Freehand SPECT using a prototype SiPM-based gamma camera demonstrates high sensitivity for detection of SLNs in a preoperative setting. Camera fhSPECT is a potential means for efficiently obtaining real-time 3D activity distribution maps in applications such as image-guided percutaneous biopsy, and surgical SLN biopsy or radioguided tumor excision.

Abstract
In vivo animal models are limited in their ability to mimic the extremely complex systems of the human body, and there is increasing disquiet about the ethics of animal research. Many authorities in different geographical areas are considering implementing a ban on animal testing, including testing for cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. Therefore, there is a need for research into systems that can replicate the responses of laboratory animals and simulate environments similar to the human body in a laboratory. An in vitro two-dimensional cell culture model is widely used, because such a system is relatively inexpensive, easy to implement, and can gather considerable amounts of reference data. However, these models lack a real physiological extracellular environment. Recent advances in stem cell biology, tissue engineering, and microfabrication techniques have facilitated the development of various 3D cell culture models. These include multicellular spheroids, organoids, and organs-on-chips, each of which has its own advantages and limitations. Organoids are organ-specific cell clusters created by aggregating cells derived from pluripotent, adult, and cancer stem cells. Patient-derived organoids can be used as models of human disease in a culture dish. Biomimetic organ chips are models that replicate the physiological and mechanical functions of human organs. Many organoids and organ-on-a-chips have been developed for drug screening and testing, so competition for patents between countries is also intensifying. We analyzed the scientific and technological trends underlying these cutting-edge models, which are developed for use as non-animal models for testing safety and efficacy at the nonclinical stages of drug development.

Abstract
Major health conditions in sheep contribute to substantial economic losses throughout the sheepmeat supply chain in Australia. A systematic review was undertaken to explore the measurable impact of six conditions: arthritis, sheep measles, pleurisy, pneumonia, grass seeds and rib fractures, on the production of lamb and mutton across the meat value chain. Peer-reviewed scientific literature from three databases and non-peer-reviewed articles and reports from Australian government and non-government websites were searched between 11 and 17 November 2019. Original articles, including studies conducted in Australia and New Zealand, that had measurable impacts on conditions of interest were included. The search yielded 16 articles and reports and were classified as producer impact and/or processor impact studies. Mortalities were quantified for pneumonia and arthritis, with pneumonia having the highest impact for producers. Grass seed infestation resulted in the highest impact on carcase and liveweight losses compared to arthritis and pneumonia. Arthritis had the highest trim weight losses for both lamb and mutton and the highest rate of carcase condemnation. Grass seed was the only condition where other impacts on the processor (chain speed and staff relocation to the boning room) were quantified. Although quantifiable production and processing losses were available for some conditions, this review has highlighted that limited quantifiable data based on scientifically sound research were not available for other conditions. The evidence for some conditions found in this review can be used to target future research activities and to further assist producers in making informed management decisions on prevention and control.

Abstract
The one reason of the decrease of walking time for adults in South Korea among various factors is the sense of fear about fine dust sparked by media reports, which has created a negative perception of fine dust. This study aimed to assess the change in concentration of fine dust, as well as individuals' walking time and health status, in South Korea, and to investigate the relationship between the media reports on fine dust. Using the national government statistics data, we analyzed the relationship between walking time, concentration of fine dust, and amount of media reports on fine dust. From 2008 to 2017, the average walking time and PM10 levels decreased from 76.17 to 49.47 min and 52 to 45 μg/m3; whereas PM10 media frequency increased from 349 to 9,234. No positive correlation existed between walking time in South Korea and exposure to fine dust. However, media reports on fine dust increased steadily from 2012 and peaked in 2015. The decrease in average walking time in South Korea was due to the negative perception created by the increase in media reports on fine dust, rather than the increase in the actual concentration of fine dust.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hutchinson's nail sign (HS) is among the diagnostic criteria for subungual melanoma (SUM). However, there is minimal evidence supporting the overall clinical significance of HS in SUM. OBJECTIVES To identify clinicopathological features of SUM according to the extent of HS. METHODS Retrospective cohort study was performed with consecutive SUM patients at a single centre from January 2006 to December 2017. The extent of HS was defined by the number of affected nail folds (range 0-4). Comparison groups were organized as follows: patients with HS (affecting ≥1 nail folds) vs. without HS; patients with HS affecting ≥2 nail folds vs. HS affecting <2 nail folds; patients with HS affecting ≥3 nail folds vs. HS affecting <3 nail folds. Clinicopathological characteristics of SUM were compared between the groups. RESULTS Sixty-one SUM patients were included. Forty-six (75.4%) exhibited HS; 22 (47.8%) on a toe and 24 (52.2%) on a finger. In multivariate analysis, nail destruction [hazard ratio (HR), 10.00; 95% confidence interval (CI), 2.61-38.30; P = 0.001] was significantly associated with the presence of HS and amputation was significantly associated with HS affecting ≥2 nail folds (HR, 4.75; 95% CI, 1.36-16.61; P = 0.015). High T stage (HR, 1.85; 95% CI, 1.20-2.85; P = 0.005, Fig. 2) was significantly associated with HS appearing in ≥3 nail folds. CONCLUSION Besides its value of detecting SUM, HS provides useful clinical information.
