Abstract
Objective: To study the effect and mechanism of post-ischemic treatment of nalmefene in alleviating the lung ischemia-reperfusion injury by inhibiting ferroptosis through activation of the Sirt 1/Nrf 2/HO-1 axis. Methods: A total of 60 rats were randomly divided into six groups equally (n=10): the sham group, the model group(I/R), the nalmefene group, the nalmefene+EX527 group, the nalmefene+ML385 group, the nalmefene+Fe-citrate group (nalmefene+Fe group). The sham group without drug treatment was not treated with ischemia-reperfusion. The pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion model was established by occlusion of the left pulmonary hilum in the model group without drug treatment. After ischemic treatment, the nalmefene group was injected with nalmefene (15 μg/kg) via the tail vein at 5 minutes before reperfusion. The nalmefene+EX527 group, the nalmefene+ML385 group, and the nalmefene+Fe group were injected intraperitoneally with EX527 (5 mg/kg), ML385 (30 mg/kg), Fe-citrate(15 mg/kg), respectively, 2 h before moulding and then injected with nalmefene (15 μg/kg) via the tail vein at 5 minutes before reperfusion. All rats were sacrificed three hours after reperfusion, and the specimens from the upper lobe of the left lung tissue were preserved. The degree of lung tissue injury and the wet/dry weight ratio were assessed in each group of rats. Fe 2+, MDA, TNF-α, and IL-6 content, GSH activity and the expression levels of Sirt1, Nrf2, HO-1, ACSL4 and GPX4 were determined. Results: Compared with the sham group, the wet/dry weight ratio, lung tissue injury score, ACSL 4 expression level, Fe 2+, TNF-α, IL-6 and MDA content, Sirt 1, Nrf 2, HO-1 messenger RNA and protein expression levels were significantly increased (P<0.01), while GPX 4 expression level and GSH activity were significantly decreased in the model group (P<0.01). Compared with the model group, wet/dry weight ratio, lung tissue injury score, ACSL 4 expression level, Fe 2+, TNF-α, IL-6, and MDA content decreased significantly (P<0.01), Nrf 2, HO-1 messenger RNA and protein, GPX 4 expression, and GSH activity were significantly increased in the nalmefene group and the nalmefene+EX527 group (P<0.01). Sirt 1 messenger RNA and protein expression increased significantly in the nalmefene (P<0.01) and the nalmefene+EX527 groups (P>0.05). In the nalmefene+ML385 group, the wet/dry weight ratio, lung tissue injury score, TNF-α and IL-6 content were decreased significantly (P<0.01), while Sirt 1 messenger RNA and protein expression levels were significantly increased (P<0.01), but there were no significant changes in Nrf 2, HO-1 messenger RNA and protein expression levels, ACSL 4 and GPX 4 expression levels, Fe 2+, MDA content, and GSH activity (P>0.05). In the nalmefene+Fe group, wet/dry weight ratio, lung-injury score, TNF-α, IL-6, MDA content were decreased significantly (P<0.01), messenger RNA and protein expression levels of Sirt 1, Nrf 2, HO-1, and GSH activity were increased significantly (P<0.01), but there were no significant changes in Fe 2+content, ACSL 4 and GPX 4 expression levels (P>0.05). Compared with the nalmefene group, in the nalmefene+EX527 group, the nalmefene+ML385 group and the nalmefene+Fe group, wet/dry weight ratio, lung tissue damage score, ACSL 4 expression level, TNF-α, IL-6 and MDA content were significantly increased (P<0.01), the expression level of GPX 4 and GSH activity were significantly decreased (P<0.01). The expression levels of Sirt 1, Nrf 2, HO-1 messenger RNA and protein were significantly decreased in the nalmefene+EX527 group (P<0.01). The expression levels of Nrf 2, HO-1 messenger RNA and protein decreased significantly in the namemefene+ML385 group (P<0.01), but there was no significant change in Sirt 1 messenger RNA and protein expression level (P>0.05). Sirt 1, Nrf 2, HO-1 messenger RNA-protein expression levels did not change significantly in the nalmefene+Fe group (P>0.05). Conclusion: Post-ischemic treatment with nalmefene hydrochloride may alleviate pulmonary ischemia-reperfusion injury by inhibiting ferroptosis through activation of the Sirt 1/Nrf 2/HO-1 axis.

Abstract
Laboratory-scale all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs) have exhibited remarkable power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) exceeding 19%. However, the utilization of hazardous solvents and nonvolatile liquid additives poses challenges for eco-friendly commercialization, resulting in the trade-off between device efficiency and operation stability. Herein, an innovative approach based on isomerized solid additive engineering is proposed, employing volatile dithienothiophene (DTT) isomers to modulate intermolecular interactions and facilitate molecular stacking within the photoactive layers. Through elucidating the underlying principles of the DTT-induced polymer assembly on molecular level, a PCE of 18.72% is achieved for devices processed with environmentally benign solvents, ranking it among the highest record values for eco-friendly all-PSCs. Significantly, such superiorities of the DTT-isomerized strategy afford excellent compatibility with large-area blade-coating techniques, offering a promising pathway for industrial-scale manufacturing of all-PSCs. Moreover, these devices demonstrate enhanced thermal stability with a promising extrapolated T80 lifetime of 14 000 h, further bolstering their potential for sustainable technological advancement.

Abstract
At the site of myocardial infarction (MI), various phenomena such as oxidative stress and myocardial apoptosis can be observed. Both epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) and coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) exhibit antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Macrophages have demonstrated a higher internalization rate of cationic liposomes, thereby increasing their bioavailability. This study utilized EGCG in synergy with CoQ10 as an antioxidant agent and distearyl phosphatidylcholine (DSPC) as the carrier, to create liposome nanoparticles known as CE-LNPs. The CE-LNPs exhibited favorable biocompatibility and were effectively engulfed by macrophages in vitro. In addition, the CE-LNPs effectively eradicated reactive oxygen species (ROS) in hypoxic cardiomyocytes, mitigated myocardial cell apoptosis, and sustained the functionality and proliferation of myocardial cells. The anti-apoptotic effect of the CE-LNPs was further validated through TUNEL and Annexin V FITC/PI experiments. The therapeutic efficacy of CE-LNPs was evaluated in a murine model of MI. CE-LNPs demonstrated a significant reduction in scar area in vivo, facilitating cardiac repair and improving cardiac function. These findings provide evidence that EGCG synergistically combined with CoQ10 in DSPC liposome nanoparticles offers protection against MI.

Abstract
Use network pharmacology combined with molecular docking to study the effects of Simiao-Yongan Decoction (SMYAD) intervenes in Knee Osteoarthritis (KOA) related targets and signaling pathways, and explores the molecular mechanism of SMYAD in treating KOA. The active ingredients and targets of SMYAD, which concluded 4 traditional Chinese medicines, were screened in TCMSP, and the related gene targets of KOA were screened in the disease databases GeneCards, MalaCards, DisGeNET, and Comparative Toxicogenomics Database, and their intersection data were obtained after integration. And used Cytoscape 3.9.1, the software topologies the network diagram of "compound-drug-active ingredient-target protein-disease." Obtains the protein-protein interaction network diagram through STRING, and enriches and analyzes the obtained core targets. Carry out molecular docking matching verification on the main active ingredients and key targets of the drug. 106 active ingredients and 175 targets were screened from SMYAD to intervene in KOA, 36 core targets were obtained through protein-protein interaction screening, and 10 key targets played an important role. The enrichment results showed that the biological process of gene ontology mainly involved positive regulation of gene expression, negative regulation of apoptosis process, and positive regulation of apoptosis process. KEGG signaling pathway mainly involves AGE-RAGE signaling pathway in diabetic complications, TNF signaling pathway, hypoxia-inducible factor-1 signaling pathway, IL-17 signaling pathway. The pathway of Reactome mainly involves interleukin-4 and interleukin-13 signaling, cytokine signaling in immune system, immune system, apoptosis. Molecular docking showed that the mainly effective components of SMYAD can fully combine with TNF, IL1B, IL6, and CASP3. The results show that the main active ingredients and potential mechanism of action of SMYAD in the treatment of KOA have the characteristics of multiple targets and multiple pathways, which provides ideas and basis for further in-depth exploration of its specific mechanism.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The association between cardiovascular diseases (CVD), including ischemic stroke (IS), heart failure (HF), myocardial infarction (MI), and coronary heart disease (CHD), and erectile dysfunction (ED) remains unclear from observational studies. OBJECTIVES We explored the potential bidirectional association between CVD and ED by Mendelian randomization (MR). METHODS Data from genome-wide association studies for CVD in individuals with European ancestry were obtained from several databases, with 1,711,875-977,323 participants, while that for ED included 223,805 participants. We conducted univariate MR (UVMR), inverse variance-weighting (IVW), weighted median, MR-Egger, and multivariate MR (MVMR) analyses to explore the bidirectional causal effects between CVD and ED. RESULTS UVMR indicated that IS (odds ratios [OR] = 1.34, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.08-1.21, P = 0.007), HF (OR = 1.36, 95% CI 1.07-1.74, P = 0.013), and CHD (OR = 1.15, 95% CI 1.09-1.18, P = 0.022) were associated with ED. By MVMR, IS estimates remained significant after accounting for combining single nucleotide polymorphisms from CVDs (OR = 1.42, 95%CI: 1.13-1.79, P = 0.002). Moreover, the effect of a genetic susceptibility to IS on ED was not mediated by type 2 diabetes or triglycerides; that of HF was not mediated by type 2 diabetes, and that of CHD was not mediated by body mass index. Bidirectional analyses showed that genetic susceptibility to ED did not confer any increased CVD risk. CONCLUSIONS Our results, based on MR, indicated that genetic susceptibility to IS, HF, and CHD was causally associated with ED. These findings can inform prevention and intervention strategies for ED in IS, HF, and CHD patients.

Abstract
n-Doped polymers with high electrical conductivity (σ) are still very scarce in organic thermoelectrics (OTEs), which limits the development of efficient organic thermoelectric generators. A series of fused bithiophene imide dimer-based polymers, PO8, PO12, and PO16, incorporating distinct oligo(ethylene glycol) side-chain to optimize σ is reported here. Three polymers show a monotonic electron mobility decrease as side-chain size increasing due to the gradually lowered film crystallinity and change of backbone orientation. Interestingly, polymer PO12 with a moderate side-chain size delivers a champion σ up to 92.0 S cm-1 and a power factor (PF) as high as 94.3 µW m-1 K-2 in the series when applied in OTE devices. The PF value is among the highest ones for the solution-processing n-doped polymers. In-depth morphology studies unravel that the moderate crystallinity and the formation of 3D conduction channel derived from bimodal orientation synergistically contribute to high doping efficiency and large charge carrier mobility, thus resulting in high performance for the PO12-based OTEs. The results demonstrate the great power of simple tuning of side chain in developing n-type polymers with substantial σ for improving organic thermoelectric performance.

Abstract
Chlorophyll is an indispensable photoreceptor in plant photosynthesis. Its anabolic imbalance is detrimental to individual growth and development. As an essential epigenetic modification, DNA methylation can induce phenotypic variations, such as leaf color transformation, by regulating gene expression. Albino line XN1376B is a natural mutation of winter wheat cultivar XN1376; however, the regulatory mechanism of its albinism is still unclear. In this study, we found that low temperatures induced albinism in XN1376B. The number of chloroplasts decreased as the phenomenon of bleaching intensified and the fence tissue and sponge tissue slowly dissolved. We identified six distinct TaPOR (protochlorophyllide oxidoreductase) genes in the wheat genome, and TaPOR2D was deemed to be related to the phenomenon of albinism based on the expression in different color leaves (green leaves, white leaves and returned green leaves) and the analysis of promoters' cis-acting elements. TaPOR2D was localized to chloroplasts. TaPOR2D overexpression (TaPOR2D-OE) enhanced the chlorophyll significantly in Arabidopsis, especially at two weeks; the amount of chlorophyll was 6.46 mg/L higher than in WT. The methylation rate of the TaPOR2D promoter in low-temperature albino leaves is as high as 93%, whereas there was no methylation in green leaves. Correspondingly, three DNA methyltransferase genes (TaMET1, TaDRM and TaCMT) were up-regulated in white leaves. Our study clarified that the expression of TaPOR2D is associated with its promoter methylation at a low temperature; it affects the level of chlorophyll accumulation, which probably causes the abnormal development of plant chloroplasts in albino wheat XN1376B. The results provide a theoretical basis for in-depth analysis of the regulation of development of plant chloroplasts and color variation in wheat XN1376B leaves.

Abstract
The shortage of narrow band gap polymer acceptors with high electron mobility is the major bottleneck for developing efficient all-polymer solar cells (all-PSCs). Herein, we synthesize a distannylated electron-deficient biselenophene imide monomer (BSeI-Tin) with high purity/reactivity, affording an excellent chance to access acceptor-acceptor (A-A) type polymer acceptors. Copolymerizing BSeI-Tin with dibrominated monomer Y5-Br, the resulting A-A polymer PY5-BSeI shows a higher molecular weight, narrower band gap, deeper-lying frontier molecular orbital levels and larger electron mobility than the donor-acceptor type counterpart PY5-BSe. Consequently, the PY5-BSeI-based all-PSCs deliver a remarkable efficiency of 17.77 % with a high short-circuit current of 24.93 mA cm-2 and fill factor of 75.83 %. This efficiency is much higher than that (10.70 %) of the PY5-BSe-based devices. Our study demonstrates that BSeI is a promising building block for constructing high-performance polymer acceptors and stannylation of electron-deficient building blocks offers an excellent approach to developing A-A type polymers for all-PSCs and even beyond.

Abstract
Developing high-performance but low-cost n-type polymers remains a significant challenge in the commercialization of organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). To achieve this objective, it is essential to design the key electron-deficient units with simple structures and facile preparation processes, which can facilitate the production of low-cost n-type polymers. Herein, by sequentially introducing fluorine and cyano functionalities onto trans-1,3-butadiene, we developed a series of structurally simple but highly electron-deficient building blocks, namely 1,4-dicyano-butadiene (CNDE), 3-fluoro-1,4-dicyano-butadiene (CNFDE), and 2,3-difluoro-1,4-dicyano-butadiene (CNDFDE), featuring a highly coplanar backbone and deep-positioned lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels (-3.03-4.33 eV), which render them highly attractive for developing n-type semiconducting polymers. Notably, all these electron-deficient units can be easily accessed by a two-step high-yield synthetic procedure from low-cost raw materials, thus rendering them highly promising candidates for commercial applications. Upon polymerization with diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP), three copolymers were developed that demonstrated unipolar n-type transport characteristics in OFETs with the highest electron mobility of >1 cm2 V-1 s-1 . Hence, CNDE, CNFDE, and CNDFDE represent a class of novel, simple, and efficient electron-deficient units for constructing low-cost n-type polymers, thereby providing valuable insight for OFET applications.

Abstract
Cryptosporidium spp., Giardia duodenalis, Enterocytozoon bieneusi and Escherichia coli are important diarrheal pathogens threatening the health of humans and various animals. Goats, especially pre-weaned goat kids, that carry these pathogens are important reservoirs related to human infection. In the present study, PCR-based sequencing techniques were applied to characterize Cryptosporidium spp., G. duodenalis, E. bieneusi and E. coli in 202 fecal samples of diarrheal kids for Guanzhong dairy goats from five locations in Shaanxi Province. The positive rates of Cryptosporidium spp., G. duodenalis, E. bieneusi and E. coli were 37.6% (76/202), 16.3% (33/202), 55.4% (112/202) and 78.7% (159/202) in these goat kids, respectively. Co-infection of two to four pathogens was found in 114 of 202 fecal samples. Significant differences (p < 0.001) in the positive rates of Cryptosporidium spp. and G. duodenalis were found among locations and age groups. Furthermore, two Cryptosporidium species (C. parvum and C. xiaoi), two G. duodenalis assemblages (E and A), nine E. bieneusi genotypes (CHG3, CHG1, BEB6, CHG5, CHG2, SX1, CHG28, COS-II and CD6) and two E. coli pathotypes (EPEC and EHEC) were identified. As for Cryptosporidium, two (IIdA19G1 and IIdA19G2) and two (XXIIIa and XXIIIg) subtypes were recognized in samples positive for C. parvum and C. xiaoi, respectively. A phylogenetic analysis based on the ITS locus of E. bieneusi indicated that all nine genotypes of E. bieneusi identified in this study belonged to the group 2. Four virulence factors (ehxA, eae, stx2 and stx1) of EPEC and EHEC were found in E. coli strains. Collectively, this study explored the colonization frequency of Cryptosporidium spp., G. duodenalis, E. bieneusi and E. coli in diarrheal kids of Guanzhong dairy goats in Shaanxi Province and expanded our understanding of the genetic composition and zoonotic potential of these pathogens in goats.

Abstract
Propionic acidemia (PA) is a rare autosomal recessive congenital disease caused by mutations in the PCCA or PCCB genes. Elevated propionylcarnitine, 2-methylcitric acid (2MCA), propionylglycine, glycine and 3-hydroxypropionate can be used to diagnose PA. Early-onset PA can lead to acute deterioration, metabolic acidosis, and hyperammonemia shortly after birth, which can result in high mortality and disability. Late-onset cases of PA have a more heterogeneous clinical spectra, including growth retardation, intellectual disability, seizures, basal ganglia lesions, pancreatitis, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmias, adaptive immune defects, rhabdomyolysis, optic atrophy, hearing loss, premature ovarian failure, and chronic kidney disease. Timely and accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment are crucial to saving patients' lives and improving their prognosis. Recently, the number of reported PA cases in China has increased due to advanced diagnostic techniques and increased research attention. However, an overview of PA prevalence in China is lacking. Therefore, this review provides an overview of recent advances in the pathogenesis, diagnostic strategies, and treatment of PA, including epidemiological data on PA in China. The most frequent variants among Chinese PA patients are c.2002G > A in PCCA and c.1301C > T in PCCB, which are often associated with severe clinical symptoms. At present, liver transplantation from a living (heterozygous parental) donor is a better option for treating PA in China, especially for those exhibiting a severe metabolic phenotype and/or end-organ dysfunction. However, a comprehensive risk-benefit analysis should be conducted as an integral part of the decision-making process. This review will provide valuable information for the medical care of Chinese patients with PA.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) on the surface of Streptococcus dysgalactiae, coded with gapC, is a glycolytic enzyme that was reported to be a moonlighting protein and virulence factor. OBJECTIVE This study assessed GAPDH as a potential immunization candidate protein to prevent streptococcus infections. METHODS Mice were vaccinated subcutaneously with recombinant GAPDH and challenged with S. dysgalactiae in vivo. They were then evaluated using histological methods. rGAPDH of mouse bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs) was evaluated using immunoblotting, reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay methods. RESULTS Vaccination with rGAPDH improved the survival rates and decreased the bacterial burdens in the mammary glands compared to the control group. The mechanism by which rGAPDH vaccination protects against S. dysgalactiae was investigated. In vitro experiments showed that rGAPDH boosted the generation of interleukin-10 and tumor necrosis factor-α. Treatment of BMDCs with TAK-242, a toll-like receptor 4 inhibitor, or C29, a toll-like receptor 2 inhibitor, reduced cytokines substantially, suggesting that rGAPDH may be a potential ligand for both TLR2 and TLR4. Subsequent investigations showed that rGAPDH may activate the phosphorylation of MAPKs and nuclear factor-κB. CONCLUSIONS GAPDH is a promising immunization candidate protein for targeting virulence and enhancing immune-mediated protection. Further investigations are warranted to understand the mechanisms underlying the activation of BMDCs by rGAPDH in a TLR2- and TLR4-dependent manner and the regulation of inflammatory cytokines contributing to mastitis pathogenesis.

Abstract
The buried interface in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is pivotal for achieving high efficiency and stability. However, it is challenging to study and optimize the buried interface due to its non-exposed feature. Here, a facile and effective strategy is developed to modify the SnO2 /perovskite buried interface by passivating the buried defects in perovskite and modulating carrier dynamics via incorporating formamidine oxalate (FOA) in SnO2 nanoparticles. Both formamidinium and oxalate ions show a longitudinal gradient distribution in the SnO2 layer, mainly accumulating at the SnO2 /perovskite buried interface, which enables high-quality upper perovskite films, minimized defects, superior interface contacts, and matched energy levels between perovskite and SnO2 . Significantly, FOA can simultaneously reduce the oxygen vacancies and tin interstitial defects on the SnO2 surface and the FA+ /Pb2+ associated defects at the perovskite buried interface. Consequently, the FOA treatment significantly improves the efficiency of the PSCs from 22.40% to 25.05% and their storage- and photo-stability. This method provides an effective target therapy of buried interface in PSCs to achieve very high efficiency and stability.

Abstract
FLT3-ITD mutant has been extensively studied as a drug discovery target for acute myeloid leukemia. Based on our previous discovered FLT3 inhibitor (2), a series of urea group based indolone derivatives were designed, synthesized, and biological evaluated as novel FLT3 inhibitors for the treatment of FLT3-ITD positive AML. Among them, compound LC-3 exhibited potent inhibitory effects against FLT3 (IC50 = 8.4 nM) and significantly inhibited the proliferation of FLT3-ITD positive AML cells MV-4-11 (IC50 = 5.3 nM). In the cellular context, LC-3 strongly inhibited FLT3-mediated signaling pathways and induced cellular apoptosis by arresting cell cycle in G1 phase. In the in vivo studies, LC-3 significantly suppressed the tumor growth on MV-4-11 xenograft models (10 mg/kg/day, TGI = 92.16%) without exhibiting obvious toxicity. These results suggested that compound LC-3 might be a potential drug candidate for FLT3-ITD positive AML.

Abstract
Salmonella is an important zoonotic and foodborne pathogen that can infect humans and animals, causing severe concerns about food safety and a heavy financial burden worldwide. The pathogen can adhere to living and abiotic surfaces by forming biofilms, which increases the risk of transmission and infection. In this study, we investigated the biofilm-forming ability of 243 Salmonella strains of 36 serotypes from different sources in China using microplate crystal violet staining method. The results showed that 99.6% tested strains, with the exception of one strain of S. Thompson, were capable of forming biofilms. The strains with the biofilm-forming ability of strong, medium and weak accounted for 2.88%, 24.28% and 72.43%, respectively. The strains of S. Havana and S. Hvittingfoss had the strongest biofilm-forming ability, with the OD570 of 0.81 ± 0.02 and 0.81 ± 0.38, respectively, while the strains of S. Agona and S. Bovismorbificans had the weakest biofilm-forming ability, with the OD570 of 0.16 ± 0.02 and 0.15 ± 0.00, respectively. Furthermore, statistical analysis results demonstrated that isolation of source had no effect on the biofilm formation ability, while the detection rates of pefABCD and ddhC were positively correlated with the biofilm formation ability of Salmonella. In particular, the detection rate of ddhC gene was more than 60% in the biofilm forming strains. These findings have important guiding significance for the investigation of pathogenesis, as well as the prevention and control of salmonellosis.

Abstract
Bifurcations in kinetic pathways decide the evolution of a system. An example is crystallization, in which the thermodynamically stable polymorph may not form due to kinetic hindrance. Here, we use confined self-assembly to investigate the interplay of thermodynamics and kinetics in the crystallization pathways of finite clusters. We report the observation of decahedral clusters from colloidal particles in emulsion droplets and show that these decahedral clusters can be thermodynamically stable, just like icosahedral clusters. Our hard sphere simulations reveal how the development of the early nucleus shape passes through a bifurcation that decides the cluster symmetry. A geometric argument explains why decahedral clusters are kinetically hindered and why icosahedral clusters can be dominant even if they are not in the thermodynamic ground state.

Abstract
Objective: To analyze the correlation between peripheral blood eosinophil (EOS) level and clinical characteristics of patients with pneumoconiosis complicated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) . Methods: From January 2007 to November 2020, newly diagnosed patients with pneumoconiosis complicated with COPD in Beijing Chaoyang Hospital, were retrospectively analyzed. These patients were stratified into EOS<100 cells/μl group and EOS≥100 cells/μl group, taking 100 cells/μl as the cut-off value. Demographic characteristics, clinical symptoms, lung function and laboratory indexes were compared between the two groups. Results: The median EOS count of patients with pneumoconiosis complicated with COPD was 100 (40, 180) cells/μl. 50.2% (160/319) had blood eosinophil counts ≥100 cells/μl, and 11.0% (35/319) had blood eosinophil counts ≥300 cells/μl. In comparison with EOS<100 cells/μl group, EOS≥100 cells/μl group were older (P=0.035), had higher body mass index (P=0.008), and had lower forced respiratory volume in the first second (P=0.017), had higher the ratio of residual volume to total lung volume (P=0.010), and had lower diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide (P=0.008). Arterial partial pressure of oxygen was significantly reduced in EOS≥100 cells/μl group (P=0.039). The peripheral blood EOS count was negatively correlated with forced vital capacity, forced breathing volume in the first second, carbon monoxide diffusion, peak expiratory flow, and maximum mid expiratory flow as a percentage of expected values (r(s)=-0.22, -0.18, -0.19, -0.19, -0.19, P=0.000, 0.001, 0.003, 0.008, 0.002), and positively correlated with the ratio of residual air volume to total lung volume (r(s)=0.17, P=0.002) . Conclusion: There was a correlation between blood EOS count and pulmonary function parameters, can proide reference for the diagnosis and treatment of chnoric obstuctive pulmmory disease in clinical practice.

Abstract
Bacterial quorum sensing (QS) plays a crucial role in chemical communication between bacteria involving autoinducers and receptors and controls the production of virulence factors in bacteria. Therefore, reducing the concentration of signaling molecules in QS is an effective strategy for mitigating the virulence of pathogenic bacteria. In this study, we demonstrated that carvacrol at 15.625 μg/mL (1/4 MIC), a natural compound found in plants, exhibits potent inhibitory activity against QS in Chromobacterium violaceum, as evidenced by a significant reduction (62.46%) in violacein production. Based on its impressive performance, carvacrol was employed as a natural QS inhibitor to suppress the pathogenicity of Aeromonas hydrophila NJ-35. This study revealed a significant reduction (36.01%) in the concentration of N-acyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs), a QS signal molecular secreted by A. hydrophila NJ-35, after 1/4 MIC carvacrol treatment. Moreover, carvacrol was found to down-regulate the expression of ahyR/I, two key genes in the QS system, which further inhibited the QS system of A. hydrophila NJ-35. Finally, based on the above results and molecular docking, we proposed that carvacrol alleviate the pathogenicity of A. hydrophila NJ-35 through QS inhibition. These results suggest that carvacrol could serve as a potential strategy for reducing the virulence of pathogenic bacteria and minimizing the reliance on antibiotics in aquaculture.

Abstract
Aging is a major risk factor for Alzheimer's disease (AD). AD mouse models are frequently used to assess pathology, behavior, and memory in AD research. While the pathological characteristics of AD are well established, our understanding of the changes in the metabolic phenotypes with age and pathology is limited. In this work, we used the Promethion cage systems® to monitor changes in physiological metabolic and behavioral parameters with age and pathology in wild-type and 5xFAD mouse models. Then, we assessed whether these parameters could be altered by treatment with oleocanthal, a phenolic compound with neuroprotective properties. Findings demonstrated metabolic parameters such as body weight, food and water intake, energy expenditure, dehydration, and respiratory exchange rate, and the behavioral parameters of sleep patterns and anxiety-like behavior are altered by age and pathology. However, the effect of pathology on these parameters was significantly greater than normal aging, which could be linked to amyloid-β deposition and blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption. In addition, and for the first time, our findings suggest an inverse correlation between sleep hours and BBB breakdown. Treatment with oleocanthal improved the assessed parameters and reduced anxiety-like behavior symptoms and sleep disturbances. In conclusion, aging and AD are associated with metabolism and behavior changes, with the changes being greater with the latter, which were rectified by oleocanthal. In addition, our findings suggest that monitoring changes in metabolic and behavioral phenotypes could provide a valuable tool to assess disease severity and treatment efficacy in AD mouse models.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the epidemiology, clinical characteristics, on-site dust monitoring and individual protection of the patients with artificial stone-related silicosis. Methods: In March 2022, the literature on artificial stone-related silicosis published from January 1965 to February 2022 was searched in China Journal Full-text Database, Wanfang Database, VIP Database, EMbase and PubMed. Chinese and English search terms include "silica dust""silica dust""silicosis""artificial stone""pneumoconiosis", etc. References were included according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data were extracted. The epidemiological characteristics, natural course of disease, workplace dust concentration and individual protection level of patients with artificial stone-related silicosis were analyzed by systematic review. Results: A total of 30 literatures were included, including 7 cohort studies, 14 cross-sectional studies, 3 case-control studies and 6 case reports. A total of 1358 patients with artificial stone-related silicosis were diagnosed from 1997 to 2020, with an average age of 41.5 years old and an average dust exposure time of 11.3 years. Among them, 36.2% (282/778) had progressive mass fibrosis or accelerated progressive silicosis at first diagnosis. Chest imaging showed diffuse small nodule shadow, pulmonary fibrosis, and silico-alveolar proteinosis. Pulmonary function showed restricted or mixed ventilation disorder with or without decreased diffusion volume. The disease progressed rapidly, with progressive mass fibrosis, respiratory failure, and even death. Patients engaged in artificial quartz stone processing, with high concentration of silica including ultra-fine particles, most of which were dry operation, lack of on-site ventilation measures and no effective personal protection. Conclusion: The artificial stone processing workers suffer from artificial stone-related silicosis due to dry cutting, lack of on-site dust removal facilities and personal protective measures, and the disease progresses rapidly, leading to poor prognosis.

Abstract
Middle-third falcine meningiomas (FMs) are usually hidden deep under the eloquent cortex and abundant bridging veins, which represent the main hindrances to surgical access. The endoscopic approach has the advantages of wide visualization and free visual axis without areas of visual blindness, which allows for the resection of FMs with good visualization in a narrow space, especially in deep operations. Here, we report a case of a middle-third FM treated using the endoscopic ipsilateral interhemispheric approach. A 55-year-old female who had suffered a headache for 6 months without other remarkable symptoms was diagnosed with middle-third FM combined with imaging evaluation. According to the imaging performance and anatomical features, we scheduled the endoscopic ipsilateral interhemispheric approach to access and remove the tumor. Consequently, gross total tumor resection was achieved without surgery-related complications. After the surgery, the patient had an uneventful recovery and was discharged with no neurological deficit. During the 24-month follow-up, the patient's condition remained favorable, with no tumor recurrence. In our opinion, the endoscopic ipsilateral interhemispheric approach is a feasible surgical strategy for FMs, which deserves further exploration as a treatment option.

Abstract
Objective: To assess the prevalence, risk factors and treatment of anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Methods: A descriptive method was used to analyze the prevalence and treatment of anemia in CKD patients based on regional health data in Yinzhou District of Ningbo during 2012-2018. The multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to identify independent influence factors of anemia in the CKD patients. Results: In 52 619 CKD patients, 15 639 suffered from by anemia (29.72%), in whom 5 461 were men (26.41%) and 10 178 were women (31.87%), and anemia prevalence was higher in women than in men, the difference was significant (P<0.001). The prevalence of anemia increased with stage of CKD (24.77% in stage 1 vs. 69.42% in stage 5, trend χ2 test P<0.001). Multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that being women (aOR=1.57, 95%CI: 1.50-1.63), CKD stage (stage 2: aOR=1.10, 95%CI: 1.04-1.16;stage 3: aOR=2.28,95%CI: 2.12-2.44;stage 4: aOR=4.49,95%CI :3.79-5.32;stage 5: aOR=6.31,95%CI: 4.74-8.39), age (18-30 years old: aOR=2.40,95%CI: 2.24-2.57, 61-75 years old: aOR=1.35,95%CI:1.28-1.42, ≥76 years old: aOR=2.37,95%CI:2.20-2.55), BMI (<18.5 kg/m2:aOR=1.29,95%CI: 1.18-1.41;23.0-24.9 kg/m2:aOR=0.79,95%CI: 0.75-0.83;≥25.0 kg/m2:aOR=0.70,95%CI: 0.66-0.74), abdominal obesity (aOR=0.91, 95%CI: 0.86-0.96), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (aOR=1.15, 95%CI: 1.09-1.22), cancer (aOR=3.03, 95%CI: 2.84-3.23), heart failure (aOR=1.44, 95%CI: 1.35-1.54) and myocardial infarction (aOR=1.54, 95%CI:1.16-2.04) were independent risk factors of anemia in CKD patients. Among stage 3-5 CKD patients with anemia, 12.03% received iron therapy, and 4.78% received treatment with erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA) within 12 months after anemia was diagnosed. Conclusions: The prevalence of anemia in CKD patients was high in Yinzhou. However, the treatment rate of iron therapy and ESA were low. More attention should be paid to the anemia management and treatment in CKD patients.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate safety and efficacy of thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) for acute Stanford type B aortic dissection (TBAD) with retrograde type A intramural hematoma (TAIMH). METHODS Patients with acute TBAD with retrograde TAIMH treated with TEVAR between January 1, 2014, to March 31, 2022, were retrospectively reviewed. Aortic diameter and distance were measured using the 3D Slicer image computing platform. Patients' characteristics, procedural, in-hospital and follow-up data, and aortic remodeling were analyzed. RESULTS Fifty-two patients (average age, 52.6 years; 42 males [80.8%]) were included. The median interval from symptom onset to TEVAR was 11 days (interquartile range, 7.0-16.8 days). The maximal diameter of the ascending aorta (AA) was <50 mm, and the hematoma thickness in the AA was ≤10 mm in all patients. Both the in-hospital and 30-day mortality rates were 0%. The 30-day complication rate was 11.5%. The overall cumulative survival rates were 100% at 1 year, 97.1% at 3 years, and 92.6% at 5 years. Four of 52 patients (7.7%) developed retrograde type A aortic dissection at 10 days to 4 months postoperatively, and one of 52 patients (1.9%) developed an isolated AA dissection 4 months postoperatively; these five patients were treated and alive at late follow-up in March 2022. The rates of cumulative freedom from thoracic aortic re-intervention were 93.7% at 1 year and 90.7% at 5 years. Positive AA remodeling was observed in 92.3% (48/52) of patients during follow-up. The maximal diameter of AA (mean ± standard error of mean) at admission was 42.7 ± 0.8 mm, which decreased to 39.5 ± 0.9 mm at last follow-up. The maximal AA hematoma thickness at admission was 7.6 ± 0.3 mm, which reduced to 2.2 ± 0.9 mm at last follow-up. CONCLUSIONS For selected patients of acute Stanford TBAD with retrograde TAIMH, endovascular repair may be a safe, effective, and durable alternative treatment, if the maximum diameter of the AA is <50 mm and the intramural hematoma thickness in the AA is ≤10 mm.

Abstract
Chiral propargylic cyanides are often used as small-molecule feedstocks for the introduction of chiral centers into various valuable products and complex molecules. Here, we have developed a highly atom-economical strategy for the chiral copper complex-catalyzed synthesis of chiral propargylic cyanides. Propargylic radicals can be smoothly obtained by direct decarboxylation of the propargylic carboxylic acids without preactivation. The reactions show excellent selectivity and functional group compatibility. Gram-scale reaction and several conversion reactions from chiral propargylic cyanide have demonstrated the synthetic value of this strategy.

Abstract
Effect of stearic acid-based lipophilic emulsifiers (sorbitan monostearate (Span-60), sucrose ester S-170, and lactic acid esters of monoglycerides (LACTEM)) and oleic acid-based lipophilic emulsifiers (sorbitan monooleate (Span-80) and sucrose ester O-170) on the crystallization of fat blend and the stability of whipped cream were studied. Span-60 and S-170 possessed strong nucleation inducing ability and good emulsifying properties. Thus, tiny and uniform crystals were formed in fat blends, small and ordered fat globules were distributed in emulsions, and air bubbles were effectively wrapped in firmly foam structures. The crystallization of the fat blend and the stability of whipped cream were slightly modified by LACTEM due to its poor nucleation inducing ability and moderate emulsifying characteristic. Span-80 and O-170 had weak nucleation inducing ability and poor emulsifying properties, therefore, loose crystals were formed in fat blends and some big fat globules were separated in emulsions, thereby decreasing the stability of whipped creams.
