Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) To retrospectively investigate the safety and efficacy of radiotherapy combined with systemic chemotherapy for recurrent metastatic renal pelvic and ureteral carcinoma. MATERIALS/METHODS A total of 109 patients were enrolled in this study, including 44 patients in the Radio-chemotherapy group and 65 patients in the Chemotherapy group. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to balance the clinical baseline characteristics of the two groups by 1:1 matching. Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) before and after matching. Prognostic factors were analyzed by Cox proportional risk model. Treatment-related adverse events were graded according to the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE), version 5.0. RESULTS The median follow-up time was 14.5 months. Multivariate analysis showed that radiotherapy was a good independent prognostic factor for OS in patients with recurrent metastatic renal pelvic and ureteral carcinoma (HR: 0.327, 95% CI: 0.157∼0.680, P = 0.003). After matching, there were 40 patients in the Radio-chemotherapy group and 40 patients in the Chemotherapy group, and the median PFS and median OS in the Radio-chemotherapy group were better than those in the Chemotherapy group (PFS: 10.4 months vs. 6.7 months, P = 0.035; OS: 43.5 months vs. 18.8 months, P<0.001). The 1-year OS and 2-year OS of the Radio-chemotherapy group were higher than those of the Chemotherapy group (1-year OS: 88.1% vs. 70.4%; 2-year OS: 81.1% vs. 39.3%). In addition, in the Radio-chemotherapy group, patients treated with radiotherapy before first-line chemotherapy failure had longer PFS than those treated with radiotherapy after chemotherapy failure (median PFS: 15.7 months vs. 6 months, P = 0.003). There was no significant difference in the incidence of grade 3∼4 toxicities between the Radio-chemotherapy group and the Chemotherapy group (52.3% vs. 50.8%, P = 0.878). CONCLUSION For patients with advanced renal pelvic and ureteral carcinoma, adding radiotherapy on the basis of systemic chemotherapy is well tolerable and expected to bring long-term survival benefits to patients, and the benefits of early interventional radiotherapy may be more obvious.

Abstract
PURPOSE To compare the technical and clinical outcomes of fenestrated thoracic endovascular aortic repair (F-TEVAR) and chimney thoracic endovascular aortic repair (CH-EVAR) of aortic disease. METHODS PubMed, Embase and Cochrane databases were systematically searched to identify studies on the management of thoracic aortic pathologies using chimney or fenestrated techniques published between 2000 and 2022. Individual studies provided at least one of the following essential outcomes: technical success, immediate and follow-up type I endoleak, 30-day and aorta-related mortality, cerebral events and supra-aortic branch patency. RESULTS 24 chimney (1106 patients) and 21 fenestrated technique studies (1040 patients) were included. The scope of the study encompassed various thoracic aortic conditions, such as thoracic aortic dissection, thoracic aortic aneurysm, thoracic aortic ulcer, and other thoracic aortic diseases. Technical success was defined as the handling of the principal ailment affecting the aorta, devoid of any instances of complications. The technical success rates were higher in fenestrated group compared with chimney group (98.0% vs. 95.8% p < 0.001), and the rate of type I endoleak either immediately or during follow-up was higher in the chimney technique group (9.3% vs. 1.3% p < 0.001, 4.0% vs. 0.0% p < 0.001). The chimney technique group had higher 30-day mortality and aorta-related mortality than those in the fenestrated technique group (2.1% vs. 0.3% p < 0.001, 0.4% vs. 0.0% p < 0.001). Morbidity rates of cerebral events and supra-aortic branch patency were same in both groups (2.2% vs. 1.1% p = 0.116, 98.2% vs. 99.4% p = 0.094). The chimney technique group had longer operative time (110.0 min vs. 90.8 min p < 0.001). Two groups had same fluoroscopy time (34.0 min vs. 33.4 min p = 0.614). CONCLUSIONS The finding suggest that both the chimney and fenestrated techniques are efficacious in supra-aortic branch reconstruction. However, the fenestrated technique exhibits potential superiority as an interventional strategy, as it demonstrates a lower incidence of type 1 Endoleak, 30-day mortality, and aorta-related death following TEVAR.

Abstract
Cisplatin is the first-line chemotherapy for gastric cancer (GC). However, its efficacy is dampened by the development of chemoresistance, which leads to poor prognosis in GC patients. Recently, evidence has revealed that circular RNAs (circRNAs) and dysregulation of autophagy-dependent ferroptosis play critical roles in cancer chemoresistance. Herein, for the first time we report that circHIPK3 has a vital role in GC cisplatin resistance. CircHIPK3 regulated cisplatin resistance by targeting autophagy and ferroptosis. In brief, knockdown circHIPK3 decreased GC cell cisplatin resistance by enhancing ferroptosis via the miR-508-3p/Bcl-2/beclin1/SLC7A11 axis. Taken together, our results demonstrate that ferroptosis is a promising strategy to ameliorate cisplatin resistance. Importantly, serum exosomal circHIPK3 could also be a noninvasive indicator to evaluate cisplatin resistance in GC.

Abstract
PURPOSE/OBJECTIVE(S) Gleason grade group 5 (GG5) prostate cancers is aggressive with high metastatic rates and is not sensitive to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT). Even the presence of a limited (tertiary) Gleason pattern 5 component may have high aggressive biological behavior. This study aims to prospectively evaluate whether a non-androgen receptor pathway therapy - adjuvant chemotherapy could improve clinical outcomes among non-metastatic prostate cancer with the above highly malignant characters. MATERIALS/METHODS This prospective non-randomized clinical trial included non-metastatic prostate cancer patients with pathologically proven Gleason score of 9-10 or tertiary Gleason pattern 5. Each subject was allowed to decide whether to receive four to six cycles chemotherapy of docetaxel after receiving a standard treatment (i.e., radical surgery ± radiotherapy or radical radiotherapy combined with long-term ADT). The primary endpoint was event-free survival (EFS). Event was defined as any of biochemical failure or imaging failure, or change of systemic therapy due to PSA arises, or death. The secondary end points were distant metastasis-free survival (MFS), overall survival (OS), and treatment-related adverse events. RESULTS A total of 188 consecutive patients were enrolled from November 2019 to November 2022. Median prostate-specific antigen was 26.6 ng/ml. 52% had T3b to T4 disease, 27% had N1 disease. 140 patients received standard therapy only, and 48 patients received adjuvant chemotherapy after radical therapy. The median follow-up time was 18.4 (3.0-36.7) months. The estimated 36-month EFS of the chemotherapy group and the control group were 94.7% vs. 72.8% (p = 0.044). There were 1 event who added novel endocrine therapy in the chemotherapy group, and 21 events in the control group, including 6 cases of biochemical recurrence and 9 cases of lymph node and distant metastasis, 4 cases that changed systemic therapy and 2 cases died. The MFS of the two groups at 36 months were 100% and 90.7%, respectively (P = 0.143). After the 1:1 propensity score match, the EFS and MFS of the two groups were 94.7% and 80.8% (P = 0.069), and 100% and 93.1% (P = 0.132), respectively. The urinary toxicity of grade 2 and 3 in the chemotherapy group and the control group were 4.2% and 7.1% (P = 0.134) while the grade 2 rectal toxicity were 5.0% and 10.4% (P = 0.317), respectively. No grade 4 toxicity occurred. Considering the chemotherapy-related side effects, grade 3 or above toxicity were leukopenia (41.7%), alopecia (27.1%), thrombocytopenia (2.1%) and edema (2.1%). CONCLUSION Results of this interim analysis shows that the addition of adjuvant chemotherapy after standard radical therapy tends to improve the overall recurrence and metastasis free survival of patients with highly malignant prostate cancer, and the adverse effects are tolerable, which should be confirmed by long-term follow-up results.

Abstract
Understanding the mechanism sustaining cardiac fibrillation can facilitate the personalization of treatment. Granger causality analysis can be used to determine the existence of a hierarchical fibrillation mechanism that is more amenable to ablation treatment in cardiac time-series data. Conventional Granger causality based on linear predictability may fail if the assumption is not met or given sparsely sampled, high-dimensional data. More recently developed information theory-based causality measures could potentially provide a more accurate estimate of the nonlinear coupling. However, despite their successful application to linear and nonlinear physical systems, their use is not known in the clinical field. Partial mutual information from mixed embedding (PMIME) was implemented to identify the direct coupling of cardiac electrophysiology signals. We show that PMIME requires less data and is more robust to extrinsic confounding factors. The algorithms were then extended for efficient characterization of fibrillation organization and hierarchy using clinical high-dimensional data. We show that PMIME network measures correlate well with the spatio-temporal organization of fibrillation and demonstrated that hierarchical type of fibrillation and drivers could be identified in a subset of ventricular fibrillation patients, such that regions of high hierarchy are associated with high dominant frequency.

Abstract
Objective: To observe the status of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) and their correlation with the number of hospitalizations within 1 year in patients with atrial fibrillation(AF). Methods: This study is a prospective investigation. Patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation treated in the Department of Cardiology of the Third People's Hospital of Yancheng from May 2020 to April 2021 were selected. General information and AF6 questionnaire were used to define PROs. The number of hospitalizations within 1 year after discharge was obtained. Spearman correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between PROs and the New York Heart Association (NYHA) classification. The logistic regression model was used to analyze the number of hospitalizations in AF patients within 1 year. Results: A total of 197 patients were enrolled, the mean age was (74.1±9.0) years, 106 (53.8%) patients were female. The mean AF6 score was (24.3±8.3). The proportion of patients with 6 entries≥1 point exceeded 50%. There was a positive correlation between NYHA classification and PROs (r=0.360, P<0.001). Logistic regression analysis showed that the older age (OR=1.058, P=0.004) and the AF6 scores≥24(OR=4.082, P<0.001) were the risk factors of rehospitalization within 1 year for AF patients. Conclusions: The PROs of AF patients are at the medium level and poor levels of PROs are associated with increased risk of rehospitalization within 1 year.

Abstract
Objective: To compare the differences in the prevalence of mild micro-hepatic encephalopathy (MHE) among patients with cirrhosis by using the psychometric hepatic encephalopathy score (PHES) and the Stroop smartphone application (Encephal App) test. Methods: This prospective, multi-center, real-world study was initiated by the National Clinical Medical Research Center for Infectious Diseases and the Portal Hypertension Alliance and registered with International ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT05140837). 354 cases of cirrhosis were enrolled in 19 hospitals across the country. PHES (including digital connection tests A and B, digital symbol tests, trajectory drawing tests, and serial management tests) and the Stroop test were conducted in all of them. PHES was differentiated using standard diagnostic criteria established by the two studies in China and South Korea. The Stroop test was evaluated based on the criteria of the research and development team. The impact of different diagnostic standards or methods on the incidence of MHE in patients with cirrhosis was analyzed. Data between groups were differentiated using the t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, and χ (2) test. A kappa test was used to compare the consistency between groups. Results: After PHES, the prevalence of MHE among 354 cases of cirrhosis was 78.53% and 15.25%, respectively, based on Chinese research standards and Korean research normal value standards. However, the prevalence of MHE was 56.78% based on the Stroop test, and the differences in pairwise comparisons among the three groups were statistically significant (kappa = -0.064, P < 0.001). Stratified analysis revealed that the MHE prevalence in three groups of patients with Child-Pugh classes A, B, and C was 74.14%, 83.33%, and 88.24%, respectively, according to the normal value standards of Chinese researchers, while the MHE prevalence rates in three groups of patients with Child-Pugh classes A, B, and C were 8.29%, 23.53%, and 38.24%, respectively, according to the normal value standards of Korean researchers. Furthermore, the prevalence rates of MHE in the three groups of patients with Child-Pugh grades A, B, and C were 52.68%, 58.82%, and 73.53%, respectively, according to the Stroop test standard. However, among the results of each diagnostic standard, the prevalence of MHE showed an increasing trend with an increasing Child-Pugh grade. Further comparison demonstrated that the scores obtained by the number connection test A and the number symbol test were consistent according to the normal value standards of the two studies in China and South Korea (Z = -0.982, -1.702; P = 0.326, 0.089), while the other three sub-tests had significant differences (P < 0.001). Conclusion: The prevalence rate of MHE in the cirrhotic population is high, but the prevalence of MHE obtained by using different diagnostic criteria or methods varies greatly. Therefore, in line with the current changes in demographics and disease spectrum, it is necessary to enroll a larger sample size of a healthy population as a control. Moreover, the establishment of more reliable diagnostic scoring criteria will serve as a basis for obtaining accurate MHE incidence and formulating diagnosis and treatment strategies in cirrhotic populations.

Abstract
Fusobacterium nucleatum (Fn) infection and microRNAs (miRNAs) are closely associated with colorectal cancer (CRC) development, but the mechanism by which Fn regulates tumor-suppressive miRNAs via exosomes and facilitates CRC metastasis remains unclear. Here, we identified that Fn infection significantly increased exosomal miR-122-5p levels in the serum of CRC patients and CRC cell culture supernatants through two miRNA panels of high-throughput sequencing and RT-qPCR analysis. In Fn-infected patients, the serum exosomal levels of miR-122-5p were negatively associated with their expression levels of tissues. Downregulated miR-122-5p was demonstrated to enhance the migration, invasion, and metastasis abilities of CRC cells in vivo and in vitro. Secretion of miR-122-5p into exosomes is mediated by hnRNPA2B1. Mechanistically, Fn activated the TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway to promote EMT by regulation of the miR-122-5p/FUT8 axis. In conclusion, Fn infection may stimulate CRC cells to excrete exosome-wrapped miR-122-5p, and activate the FUT8/TGF-β1/Smads axis to promote metastasis.

Abstract
Background: Menstrual equity, that is, access to menstrual products and safe menstruating environments, is a basic human right not available to many vulnerable populations. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional survey with a convenience sample of women involved in the criminal legal system to document experiences with access to hygiene and menstrual products while incarcerated. Results: Of the 156 respondents, 62.6% had to trade or barter to receive even basic hygiene products such as soap or shampoo; food and personal favors were used as the common currency. More than half (53.8%) received less than five menstrual products at intake/initial processing; 29.5% had to trade or barter menstrual hygiene products. Almost one-quarter (23.1%) suffered negative health consequences from prolonged use of products because of limited supply. Discussion: Findings document the lack of menstrual equity among women involved in the criminal legal system. Assuring the human right of menstrual equity in this population requires changes at the legal, the policy, the institutional, and the individual level.

Abstract
PURPOSE This study aimed to explore the correlations among heavy metals concentration, histologic subtypes and molecular characteristics in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). METHODS In this study, an NGS panel of 82 tumor-associated genes was used to identify genomic alternations in 180 newly diagnosed patients with NSCLC. The concentrations of 18 heavy metals in the serum samples were detected by inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry (ICP-MS). RESULTS A total of 243 somatic mutations of 25 mutant genes were identified in 115 of 148 patients with LUAD and 45 somatic mutations of 15 mutant genes were found in 24 of 32 patients with LUSC. The genomic alternations, somatic interactions, traditional serum biomarkers, and heavy metals were markedly different between patients with LUAD and LUSC. Moreover, patients with LUSC were significantly positively correlated with Ba, but not LUAD. Lastly, patients with EGFR mutations presented significant negative correlations with Cd and Sr, whereas patients with TP53 mutations showed a significant positive correlation with Pb. CONCLUSION The genomic alternations, somatic interactions, traditional serum biomarkers, and heavy metals were different between patients with LUAC and LUSC, and heavy metals (e.g., Ba, Pb, and Cd) may contribute to the tumorigenesis of NSCLC with different histological and molecular subtypes.

Abstract
When molecules are coupled to an optical cavity, new light-matter hybrid states, so-called polaritons, are formed due to quantum light-matter interactions. With the experimental demonstrations of modifying chemical reactivities by forming polaritons under strong light-matter interactions, theorists have been encouraged to develop new methods to simulate these systems and discover new strategies to tune and control reactions. This review summarizes some of these exciting theoretical advances in polariton chemistry, in methods ranging from the fundamental framework to computational techniques and applications spanning from photochemistry to vibrational strong coupling. Even though the theory of quantum light-matter interactions goes back to the midtwentieth century, the gaps in the knowledge of molecular quantum electrodynamics (QED) have only recently been filled. We review recent advances made in resolving gauge ambiguities, the correct form of different QED Hamiltonians under different gauges, and their connections to various quantum optics models. Then, we review recently developed ab initio QED approaches which can accurately describe polariton states in a realistic molecule-cavity hybrid system. We then discuss applications using these method advancements. We review advancements in polariton photochemistry where the cavity is made resonant to electronic transitions to control molecular nonadiabatic excited state dynamics and enable new photochemical reactivities. When the cavity resonance is tuned to the molecular vibrations instead, ground-state chemical reaction modifications have been demonstrated experimentally, though its mechanistic principle remains unclear. We present some recent theoretical progress in resolving this mystery. Finally, we review the recent advances in understanding the collective coupling regime between light and matter, where many molecules can collectively couple to a single cavity mode or many cavity modes. We also lay out the current challenges in theory to explain the observed experimental results. We hope that this review will serve as a useful document for anyone who wants to become familiar with the context of polariton chemistry and molecular cavity QED and thus significantly benefit the entire community.

Abstract
We present NEXMD version 2.0, the second release of the NEXMD (Nonadiabatic EXcited-state Molecular Dynamics) software package. Across a variety of new features, NEXMD v2.0 incorporates new implementations of two hybrid quantum-classical dynamics methods, namely, Ehrenfest dynamics (EHR) and the Ab-Initio Multiple Cloning sampling technique for Multiconfigurational Ehrenfest quantum dynamics (MCE-AIMC or simply AIMC), which are alternative options to the previously implemented trajectory surface hopping (TSH) method. To illustrate these methodologies, we outline a direct comparison of these three hybrid quantum-classical dynamics methods as implemented in the same NEXMD framework, discussing their weaknesses and strengths, using the modeled photodynamics of a polyphenylene ethylene dendrimer building block as a representative example. We also describe the expanded normal-mode analysis and constraints for both the ground and excited states, newly implemented in the NEXMD v2.0 framework, which allow for a deeper analysis of the main vibrational motions involved in vibronic dynamics. Overall, NEXMD v2.0 expands the range of applications of NEXMD to a larger variety of multichromophore organic molecules and photophysical processes involving quantum coherences and persistent couplings between electronic excited states and nuclear velocity.

Abstract
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a chronic metabolic stress liver injury due to chronic malnutrition in genetically susceptible individuals. With the prevalence of obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome, NAFLD has become the world's number one chronic liver disease, and the flaws of forty years of exclusive disease diagnostic criteria and stigmatized disease terminology are becoming increasingly prominent. To this end, in the past three years, the international consensus group and the three major hepatology societies have suggested that NAFLD be renamed metabolism-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) and metabolism-associated steatosis liver disease (MASLD). Here is a description of the background of naming NAFLD, MAFLD, and MASLD, the similarities and differences of the three terms, the existing disputes, and our country's coping strategies.

Abstract
The influence of nanoscale surface topography on protein adsorption is highly important for numerous applications in medicine and technology. Herein, ferritin adsorption at flat and nanofaceted, single-crystalline Al2O3 surfaces is investigated using atomic force microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The nanofaceted surfaces are generated by the thermal annealing of Al2O3 wafers at temperatures above 1000 °C, which leads to the formation of faceted saw-tooth-like surface topographies with periodicities of about 160 nm and amplitudes of about 15 nm. Ferritin adsorption at these nanofaceted surfaces is notably suppressed compared to the flat surface at a concentration of 10 mg/mL, which is attributed to lower adsorption affinities of the newly formed facets. Consequently, adsorption is restricted mostly to the pattern grooves, where the proteins can maximize their contact area with the surface. However, this effect depends on the protein concentration, with an inverse trend being observed at 30 mg/mL. Furthermore, different ferritin adsorption behavior is observed at topographically similar nanofacet patterns fabricated at different annealing temperatures and attributed to different step and kink densities. These results demonstrate that while protein adsorption at solid surfaces can be notably affected by nanofacet patterns, fine-tuning protein adsorption in this way requires the precise control of facet properties.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the association of different obesity measurement indexes on serum C-reactive protein (CRP) in Chinese adult women. Methods: The data were obtained from baseline and follow-up surveys of the urban Breast Cancer Screening Program in Shuangliu District, Chengdu. A total of 441 adult women were included in the study. A questionnaire survey, physical examination, and laboratory testing were conducted on the subjects. Multivariate logistic regression model, two-level mixed effects logistic regression model, and restricted cubic spline method were used to investigate the linear and nonlinear correlation between different obesity measurement indexes and serum CRP in adult women. Results: For every 1 unit increase in BMI, waist circumference (WC), and adiposity, the risk of elevated serum CRP or exacerbation of chronic low-grade inflammation in adult women increased by 16.5%, 5.0%, and 11.1% (P<0.05), respectively. Both BMI and adiposity were nonlinear correlated with serum CRP. Using BMI=24.0 kg/m2 as the reference point, serum CRP level increased with the increase of BMI when BMI >24.0 kg/m2. Using adiposity=30% as the reference point, serum CRP level increased with the increase of adiposity when adiposity >30%. Conclusions: Overall, obesity reflected by BMI had the strongest association with serum CRP in adult women, followed by body fat content reflected by adiposity, and central obesity reflected by WC had the weakest association with CRP. Adult women with BMI >24.0 kg/m2 or adiposity >30% are at high risk for obesity-related inflammatory manifestations.

Abstract
Colistin is considered as one of the last-resort antimicrobial agents for treating multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. Multidrug-resistant E. asburiae has been increasingly isolated from clinical patients, which posed a great challenge for antibacterial treatment. This study aimed to report a mcr-10 and blaNDM-1 co-carrying E. asburiae clinical isolate 5549 conferred a high-level resistance against colistin. Antibiotic susceptibility testing was performed using the microdilution broth method. Transferability of mcr-10 and blaNDM-1-carrying plasmids were investigated by conjugation experiments. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) was used to identify modifications in lipid A. Whole genome sequencing and phylogenetic analysis between strain 5549 and a total of 301 E. asburiae genomes retrieved from NCBI database were performed. The genetic characteristics of mcr-10 and blaNDM-1-bearing plasmids were also analyzed. Our study indicated that strain 5549 showed extensively antibiotic-resistant trait, including colistin and carbapenem resistance. The mcr-10 and blaNDM-1 were carried by IncFIB/IncFII type p5549_mcr-10 (159417 bp) and IncN type p5549_NDM-1 (63489 bp), respectively. Conjugation assays identified that only the blaNDM-1-carrying plasmid could be successfully transferred to E. coli J53. Interestingly, mcr-10 did not mediate colistin resistance when it was cloned into E. coli DH5α. Mass spectrometry analysis showed the lipid A palmitoylation of the C-lacyl-oxo-acyl chain to the chemical structure of lipid A at m/z 2063 in strain 5549. In summary, this study is the first to report a mcr-10 and blaNDM-1 co-occurrence E. asburiae recovered from China. Our investigation revealed the distribution of different clonal lineage of E. asburiae with epidemiology perspective and the underlying mechanisms of colistin resistance. Active surveillance is necessary to control the further dissemination of multidrug-resistant E. asburiae.

Abstract
Gut microbiota are closely related to health, and the β2-adrenergic receptor (ADRB2) gene is associated with gastrointestinal diseases. However, little is known about the relationship between ADRB2 gene polymorphisms and intestinal microbiota. In the present study, we aimed to explore the relationship between ADRB2 gene polymorphisms and gut microbiota in Chinese Han adolescents. Data analysis showed that the relative abundance, PICRUSt function prediction, and Chao1 and ACE indices of gut microbiota were significantly different between males and females (P < 0.05). The rs1042711 was positively associated with the relative abundance of Actinobacteria, Coriobacteriia, Bifidobacteriales, Erysipelotrichi, and Erysipelotrichales. The rs12654778 was negatively associated with Bacilli, Lactobacillales, Bacteroidaceae, and Bacteroides. rs1042713 was positively associated with Lactobacillales and Bifidobacteriales. The rs1042717 was positively associated with Bifidobacteriales and negatively associated with Veillonellaceae. The rs1042719 was negatively associated with Erysipelotrichi and Erysipelotrichales and positively associated with Erysipelotrichi, Erysipelotrichales, Bifidobacteriales, and Ruminococcaceae in females. The rs1801704 was positively associated with Erysipelotrichi, Erysipelotrichales, Bifidobacteriales, Actinobacteria, Coriobacteriia, and Bifidobacteriales. The rs2053044 was positively associated with Ruminococcaceae, Dialister, Firmicutes, Clostridia, Clostridiales, Bifidobacteriales, and Faecalibacterium and negatively associated with Bacilli, Lactobacillales, Lachnospiraceae, and Porphyromonadaceae (P < 0.05). These results suggested that the relative abundance, diversity, and PICRUSt function predictions of male and female gut microbiomes differ significantly and that ADRB2 gene polymorphisms were associated with gut microbiome abundance in Chinese Han adolescents.

Abstract
A fast, eco-friendly and accurate ratiometric fluorescent strategy is presented for the determination of organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) using intrinsic dual-emission silica nanoparticles modified with Rhodamine 6G (SiNPs-Rho6G). SiNPs-Rho6G had intrinsic dual-emission at 410 and 550 nm. The substrate acetylcholine was catalyzed by acetylcholinesterase (AChE) to produce thiocholine (TCh). TCh triggered the specific reaction of Ellman's reagent 5, 5-dithiobis (2-nitrobenzoic acid) to obtain 5-thio-2-nitrobenzoic acid, which caused the decrease in fluorescence intensity of SiNPs-Rho6G at 410 nm by the inner filter effect, while the fluorescence intensity of SiNPs-Rho6G at 550 nm was not significantly changed. OPs caused the recovery of the fluorescence at 410 nm by inhibiting the activity of AChE. Thus, the quantitative detection of OPs could be achieved through utilizing the catalytic characteristic of AChE. The linear curve from 0.010 to 0.250 μg mL-1 with a detection limit of 7 ng mL-1 was obtained for the determination of chlorpyrifos (Cpf). The ratiometric probe was used to detect the spiked Cpf in environmental and food samples with good recoveries. Therefore, combined with the dual emission characteristics of SiNPs-Rho6G and the specificity of the enzyme, the ratio fluorescence sensing platform has potential application prospects in OPs determinations.

Abstract
Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) is a highly fatal malignancy with rapidly increasing incidence and mortality worldwide. Currently, gemcitabine-based systemic chemotherapy is the main clinical therapeutic regimen; however, its efficacy is poor, and its mechanism has not been elucidated. In this study, we use a Seahorse Extracellular Flux analyser to measure glycolysis capacity (extracellular acidification rate, ECAR) and oxygen consumption rate (OCR). The glucose uptake or lactic acid content is detected, and the effects of saikosaponin D, an active compound derived from Bupleuri Radix (a traditional Chinese medicine for soothing the liver and relieving depression), on gemcitabine cytotoxicity in norepinephrine-stimulated iCCA cells are analysed. We find that adrenergic signaling plays a fundamental role in chronic stress-induced therapeutic resistance in iCCA. Norepinephrine (NE) and epinephrine (E) enhance the proliferation of iCCA cells and interfere with the response to gemcitabine through activation of the β2-adrenergic receptor (ADRB2). Furthermore, we find that NE upregulates the expressions of several drug efflux-related genes (such as ABCG2 and MDR1) and promotes glycolysis in iCCA cells. In addition, saikosaponin D reverses the poor response of iCCA cells to gemcitabine by downregulating ADRB2 level. Furthermore, saikosaponin D inhibits drug efflux and glycolysis in iCCA cells by regulating the expressions of MDR1, ABCG2, HK2, and GLUT1. Collectively, saikosaponin D enhances the antitumor effect of gemcitabine by controlling glucose metabolism and drug efflux by inhibiting the ADRB2 signaling. Therefore, the combination of saikosaponin D and gemcitabine may be a potential therapeutic strategy for the treatment of iCCA.

Abstract
Objective: To explore the influence of pH value on tube formation of human dermal microvascular endothelial cells (HDMECs) and study its molecular mechanism, so as to provide theoretical basis for the study of promoting angiogenesis in the process of wound healing. Methods: The experimental study methods were applied. HDMECs of 4 or 5 passages in the logarithmic growth phase were collected for experiments. Culture mediums with pH values of 6.4, 6.6, 6.8, 7.0, 7.2, 7.4, 7.6, and 7.8 were prepared, and the cells were adaptively cultured (the same culture method below) for 24 h before further experiments being carried out. After another 36 h of culture, the relative fluorescence value of cytoplasmic pH value was measured by flow cytometry, and the correlation analysis between the relative fluorescence value of cytoplasmic pH value and the medium pH value was carried out. After another 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.5, and 5.5 days of culture, the cell proliferation activity was detected with cell counting kit 8. OrisTM cell migration detection kit was used to detect the remaining area of cell migration at 0 (immediately), 24, and 48 h after removing the cell seeding stopper. Three-dimensional stromal gel cell tube formation experiment was carried out to detect the lumen diameter of tube formed by cells after another 48 h of culture. The protein expressions of phosphorylation sites 473 and 308 of protein kinase B (Akt) were detected by Western blotting after another 48 h of culture. The sample number was 3. Data were statistically analyzed with Pearson correlation analysis, one-way analysis of variance, analysis of variance for factorial design, analysis of variance for repeated measurement, and Bonferroni correction. Results: After another 36 h of culture, the relative fluorescence values of cytoplasmic pH value of cells cultured in pH 6.8-7.8 mediums were significantly higher than the level in pH 6.4 medium (P<0.05); compared with those in pH 6.6-7.0 mediums, the relative fluorescence values of cytoplasmic pH value of cells cultured in pH 7.4-7.8 mediums were significantly increased (P<0.05), and the relative fluorescence value of cytoplasmic pH value of cells cultured in pH 6.6 medium was significantly lower than that in pH 7.0 or 7.2 mediun (with P values all <0.05); the relative fluorescence values of cytoplasmic pH value of cells cultured in pH 7.6 and 7.8 mediums were significantly higher than those in pH 7.2 and 7.4 mediums (P<0.05). The relative fluorescence value of cytoplasmic pH value was significantly positively correlated with the medium pH value (r=0.99, P<0.05). The proliferation activity was similar among cells cultured in 8 mediums of different pH values for another 1.5 days (P>0.05). After another 2.5 days of culture, the proliferation activity of cells cultured in pH 6.4-6.8 mediums was significantly decreased compared with that in pH 7.6 medium (P<0.05). After another 48 h of culture, compared with those in pH 6.4 and 6.6 mediums, the protein expressions of Akt phosphorylation sites 473 and 308 of cells cultured in pH 6.8 to 7.8 mediums were significantly increased (P<0.05). Moreover, the protein expression of Akt phosphorylation site 308 of cells cultured in pH 6.6 medium was significantly higher than that in pH 6.4 medium (P<0.05); compared with the expression in pH 6.8 medium, the protein expressions of Akt phosphorylation site 473 of cells cultured in pH 7.0 and 7.4-7.8 mediums were significantly increased (P<0.05); compared with the expression in pH 7.6 medium, the protein expressions of Akt phosphorylation site 473 of cells cultured in pH 7.0-7.4 and 7.8 mediums were significantly decreased (P<0.05); compared with the expression in pH 7.8 medium, the protein expressions of Akt phosphorylation site 308 of cells cultured in pH 7.0 to 7.6 mediums were significantly increased (P<0.05). Conclusions: pH value can regulate the lumen diameter of HDMEC-formed capillaries, which is closely related to the activation of Akt. 7.2-7.6 is the appropriate pH value for constructing tissue engineered capillaries.

Abstract
Viruses are widely distributed in marine environments, where they influence the transformation of matter and energy by modulating host metabolism. Driven by eutrophication, green tides are a rising concern in Chinese coastal areas, and are a serious ecological disaster that negatively affects coastal ecosystems and disrupts biogeochemical cycles. Although the composition of bacterial communities in green algae has been investigated, the diversity and roles of viruses in green algal blooms are largely unexplored. Therefore, the diversity, abundance, lifestyle, and metabolic potential of viruses in a natural bloom in Qingdao coastal area were investigated at three different stages (pre-bloom, during-bloom, and post-bloom) by metagenomics analysis. The dsDNA viruses, Siphoviridae, Myoviridae, Podoviridae, and Phycodnaviridae, were found to dominate the viral community. The viral dynamics exhibited distinct temporal patterns across different stages. The composition of the viral community varied during the bloom, especially in populations with low abundance. The lytic cycle was most predominant, and the abundance of lytic viruses increased slightly in the post-bloom stage. The diversity and richness of the viral communities varied distinctly during the green tide, and the post-bloom stage favored viral diversity and richness. The total organic carbon, dissolved oxygen, NO3-, NO2-, PO43-, chlorophyll-a contents, and temperature variably co-influenced the viral communities. The primary hosts included bacteria, algae, and other microplankton. Network analysis revealed the closer links between the viral communities as the bloom progressed. Functional prediction revealed that the viruses possibly influenced the biodegradation of microbial hydrocarbons and carbon by metabolic augmentation via auxiliary metabolic genes. The composition, structure, metabolic potential, and interaction taxonomy of the viromes differed significantly across the different stages of the green tide. The study demonstrated that the ecological event shaped the viral communities during algal bloom, and the viral communities played a significant role in phycospheric microecology.

Abstract
Magnesium hydride (MGH) is a high-capacity and low-cost hydrogen storage material; however, slow kinetic rates, high dehydrogenation temperature, and short cycle life hindered its large-scale applications. We proposed a strategy of designing novel delaminated 3D bimetal MXene (d-TiNbCTx) nanostructure to solve these problems. The on-set dehydrogenation temperature of MGH@d-TiNbCTx composition was reduced to 150 °C, achieving 7.2 wt % of hydrogen releasing capacity within the range of 150-250 °C. This composition absorbed 7.2 wt % hydrogen within 5 min at 200 °C and 5.5 wt % at 30 °C within 2 h, while the desorption capacity (6.0 wt %) was measured at 275 °C within 7 min. After 150 cycles at 250 °C, the 6.5 wt % capacity was retained with negligible loss of hydrogen content. These results were attributed to the catalytic effect of in situ-formed TiH2/NbH2 nanocatalysts, which lead to dissociate the Mg-H bonds and promote of kinetic rates. This unique structure paves great opportunities for designing of highly efficient MGHs/MXene nanocomposites to improve the hydrogen storage performance of MGHs.

Abstract
Sedum plumbizincicola is a cadmium (Cd) and zinc hyperaccumulator that can activate Cd by rhizosphere acidification. However, there is little understanding of the Cd leaching risk from polluted soil during phytoextraction process. Here, pot and column experiments were conducted to monitor soil Cd leaching characteristics under different rainfall simulation conditions during S. plumbizincicola phytoextraction. Soil Cd leaching increased significantly with increasing simulated rainfall intensity. Compared with normal rainfall (NR), weak rainfall (WR) resulted in a 34.3% decrease in Cd uptake by S. plumbizincicola and also led to a 68.7% decline in Cd leaching. In contrast, Cd leaching under heavy rainfall (HR) was 2.12 times that of NR in the presence of S. plumbizincicola. After two successive growing periods, phytoextraction resulted in a 53.5-66.4% decline in the amount of soil Cd leached compared with controls in which S. plumbizincicola was absent. Even compared with maize cropping as a control, S. plumbizincicola did not instigate a significant increase in Cd leaching. The contribution of Cd leaching loss to the decline in soil total Cd concentration was negligible after phytoextraction in the pot experiment. Overall, the results contribute to our understanding of soil Cd leaching risk by phytoextraction with S. plumbizincicola.

Abstract
Fiber coupling plays an important role in applications such as free-space optical communication (FSOC) and self-referencing interferometry. However, the coupling efficiency is often affected by turbulence and platform vibrations, which requires dynamic coupling with optimization algorithms. In this paper, to further mitigate the effects of sudden disturbances and to expand the effective range of fiber coupling systems, we propose a new method called the advanced root mean square propagation with warm-up (ARW) algorithm. By adaptively adjusting both the gain rate and the perturbation rate with warm-up operations, the ARW algorithm can achieve higher effective range and acceptable steady-state coupling efficiency simultaneously. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method requires only 36.4% of the iterations of the SPGD algorithm to deal with sudden disturbances. Moreover, the effective range of the ARW algorithm is 530.50µrad in the specific coupling platform, which is 20% higher than the effective range of SPGD.

Abstract
In this study, pristine kiwi peel (KP) and nitric acid modified kiwi peel (NA-KP) based adsorbents were prepared and evaluated for selective removal of cationic dye. The morphology and chemical structure of KP and NA-KP were fully characterized and compared, and results showed nitric acid modification introduced more functional groups. Moreover, the adsorption kinetics and isotherms of malachite green (MG) by KP and NA-KP were investigated and discussed. The results showed that the adsorption process of MG onto KP followed a pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isotherm model, while the adsorption process of MG onto NA-KP followed a pseudo-first-order kinetic model and the Freundlich isotherm model. Notably, the Langmuir maximum adsorption capacity of NA-KP was 580.61 mg g-1, which was superior to that of KP (297.15 mg g-1). Furthermore, thermodynamic studies demonstrated the feasible, spontaneous, and endothermic nature of the adsorption process of MG by NA-KP. Importantly, NA-KP showed superior selectivity to KP towards cationic dye MG against anionic dye methyl orange (MO). When the molar ratio of MG/MO was 1:1, the separation factor (αMG/MO) of NA-KP was 698.10, which was 5.93 times of KP. In addition, hydrogen bonding, π-π interactions, and electrostatic interaction played important roles during the MG adsorption process by NA-KP. This work provided a low-cost, eco-friendly, and efficient option for the selective removal of cationic dye from dyeing wastewater.

Abstract
Maraging steel is a prominent category of ultrahigh-strength steel (UHSS) characterized by excellent comprehensive properties, and it finds wide applications in manufacturing load-bearing structural components. In this study, a novel tungsten-containing maraging steel, C-250W, was designed. The effects of aging treatments on the mechanical properties, microstructure, precipitations, and reverted austenite of C-250W steel were investigated. The results revealed that the optimal combination of strength and toughness could be achieved through an aging treatment of C-250W steel carried out for 5 h at 480 °C after solution treatment at 1000 °C for 1 h. As the aging temperature increased, the proportion of dimples in the impact fracture gradually decreased while that of quasi-cleavage increased, leading to a reduction in Charpy impact energy. The boundary of martensitic lath decomposed gradually as the aging temperature increased, and it disappeared entirely at temperatures higher than 550 °C. Moreover, the aging process resulted in the formation of phases, including spherical Fe2M (M represents Mo, W) and thin strip-shaped Ni3N (N represents Mo, Ti) precipitates. These precipitates coarsened from 5 nm to 50-200 nm with increasing aging temperature. Additionally, the content of reverted austenite increased with the aging temperature. Within the temperature range of 400 °C to 500 °C for aging treatment, the content of film-shaped reverted austenite was approximately 3%, primarily distributed at the boundary of martensite lath. When the aging temperature exceeded 550 °C, the content of reverted austenite reached 20.2%, and its morphology changed from film-shaped to block-shaped, resulting in a decline in strength and toughness.

Abstract
Due to the presence of dissipationless edge states, the quantum anomalous Hall (QAH) insulator has garnered significant attention for both fundamental research and practical application. However, the majority of QAH insulators suffer from a low Chern number (C = 1), and the Chern number is basically unadjustable, which constrains their potential application in spintronic devices. Here, based on a tight-binding model and first-principles calculations, we propose that two-dimensional (2D) ferromagnetic monolayer NdN2 exhibits a high-Chern-number QAH effect with C = ±3, accompanied by a nontrivial band gap of 97.4 meV. More importantly, by manipulating the magnetization orientation in the xz plane, the Chern number of 2D NdN2 can be further tuned between C = ±3 and C = ±1. When the magnetization vector is confined to the xy plane, the monolayer NdN2 would exhibit either a Dirac half-semimetal or in-plane QAH phase. Moreover, the QAH effect with a higher Chern number C = 9 can be achieved by constructing a multilayer van der Waals heterostructure composed of monolayers NdN2 and BN with alternative stacking order. These findings provide a reliable platform for exploring the novel QAH effect and developing high-performance topological devices.

Abstract
Multidrug nanomedicine is an effective therapeutic approach for the treatment of chronic diseases and cancers. However, co-encapsulation and release of drug combination at a fixed ratio by nanoparticles, particularly for long acting ocular formulations, remains challenging. Herein, poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles ratiometrically co-encapsulating hydrophilic dual drugs, mitomycin C and doxorubicin, was obtained (D/M PLGANPs) by combining microfluidics and the Design of Experiments approaches. The formulation variable of lactide-to-glycolide ratios (L/G 50:50, 75:15 and 85:15) was used to achieve fast, medium and slow drug release rates of D/M PLGANPs. The dissolution of D/M PLGANPs in simulated intraocular fluid exhibited sustained release of dual drugs at the fixed ratio over 7 days, and analysis using the Korsmeyer-Peppas model showed mechanism of drug release to be governed by diffusion. More importantly, in human lens epithelial cells, the drug release rate was negatively correlated with drug potency. The slower drug release from D/M PLGANPs led to lower efficacy of drug combination against pathogenesis of cellular migration and proliferation, the key pathogenic processes of capsular opacification after cataract surgery. Compared to fast (L/G 50:50) and medium (L/G 75:15) drug release rate of D/M PLGANPs, the slow release formulation (L/G 85:15) exhibited the least cellular uptake of the dual drugs and the ratio of drug combination was not maintained intracellularly. The present study implicates the potential of using microfluidics for synthesizing polymeric nanoparticles of ratiometric drug combination and highlights the drug release rate as the critical determinant of efficacy for the long-acting nanomedicine design.

Abstract
An experimental platform for dynamic diamond anvil cell (dDAC) research has been developed at the High Energy Density (HED) Instrument at the European X-ray Free Electron Laser (European XFEL). Advantage was taken of the high repetition rate of the European XFEL (up to 4.5 MHz) to collect pulse-resolved MHz X-ray diffraction data from samples as they are dynamically compressed at intermediate strain rates (≤103 s-1), where up to 352 diffraction images can be collected from a single pulse train. The set-up employs piezo-driven dDACs capable of compressing samples in ≥340 µs, compatible with the maximum length of the pulse train (550 µs). Results from rapid compression experiments on a wide range of sample systems with different X-ray scattering powers are presented. A maximum compression rate of 87 TPa s-1 was observed during the fast compression of Au, while a strain rate of ∼1100 s-1 was achieved during the rapid compression of N2 at 23 TPa s-1.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the spontaneous nystagmus (SN) and the frequency characteristics of affected semicircular canals in patients with vestibular neuritis (VN). Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. A total of 61 patients with VN admitted to the Department of Neurology of Shanxi Bethune Hospital from June 2020 to October 2021, 39 were male and 22 were female, with a mean age of (46±13) years old and male to female ratio of 1.77∶1. According to SN characteristics, 61 patients were divided into non-nystagmus group(nSN), horizontal nystagmus group(hSN) and horizontal-torsional nystagmus group (htSN). Clinical data were collected, and SN, unilateral weakness (UW), directional preponderance (DP), and video head impulse test (vHIT) gain were used as observation indicators. Statistical analysis by SPSS23.0 software. Normal distributed quantitative data (age, semicircular canal gain, SN intensity) were expressed by x¯±s, non-normal distributed quantitative data (disease course, UW, DP) were expressed by M(Q1,Q3), qualitative data were expressed by rate and composition ratio, difference analysis by one-way ANOVA, rank sum test, Chi-square test or Fisher's exact probability method, considered by P value<0.05. Results: (1)The disease course of nSN, hSN and htSN was 7.0 (4.0, 12.5), 6.0 (3.5, 11.5), and 3.0 (2.0, 6.5) days respectively, and there were statistical differences (χ2=7.31,P=0.026).(2)The horizontal nystagmus intensity of htSN was (16.8±8.6)°/s, which was significantly higher than that of (9.8±4.7)°/s in hSN (t=3.71, P<0.001). There was no significant difference in the positive rate of UW between the three groups (P=0.690), and there was a significant difference in the positive rate of DP in the three groups (χ2=12.23, P=0.002). The horizontal nystagmor intensity in the htSN was positively correlated with the vertical nystagmus intensity (r=0.59, P=0.001).(3)The gain of the affected horizontal canal of the three groups was statistically different (F=8.28, P=0.001), and the gain of the horizontal canal of hSN and htSN was significantly lower than that of nSN (t=2.74, P=0.008; t=4.05, P<0.001); The gain of the affected anterior canal in the three groups was statistically different (F=5.32, P=0.008). The gain of the anterior canal in both nSN and hSN was significantly higher than that in htSN (t=3.09, P=0.003; t=2.15, P=0.036). The horizontal canal gain of htSN is positively correlated with the anterior canal gain (r=0.74, P<0.001).(4)The affected semicircular canals in the two groups with no-vertical-component nystagmus (nSN and hSN) and the htSN were counted. The composition ratio of the affected semicircular canals in the two groups was different (χ2=8.34, P=0.015). Conclusion: The occurrence of SN in patients with VN is related to many factors, such as the disease course, low and high frequencies, and the severity of the condition in the affected semicircular canal.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of polyetheretherketone, zirconium dioxide, and titanium abutment materials on the expression of genes and proteins related to hemidesmosome adhesion in human gingival epithelial cells, in order to screen out abutment materials that are easier for epithelial adhesion. Methods: Forty-eight specimens were prepared in each of the three materials, polyetheretherketone, zirconium oxide, and pure titanium specimens. The surface morphology of each group of specimens was observed by scanning electron microscopy, the surface roughness was measured by the white light interferometer, and the contact angle was measured by optical contact angle measuring instrument. The early adhesion status of human gingival epithelial cells on the surface of each group of specimens was observed by scanning electron microscopy, and the proliferation ability of human gingival epithelial cells on the surface of each group of specimens was assessed by using a cell counting kit, and the expression levels of genes and proteins related to the adhesion of human gingival epithelial cells on the surface of each group of specimens were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR and Western blotting, respectively. Results: The surface morphology of the three groups of specimens was flat and smooth. The mean roughness (Ra value) of the polyetheretherketone, zirconia, and pure titanium groups were (95.63±2.06), (37.93±3.56), and (134.2±4.62) nm (F=368.16, P<0.001), respectively, and the mean maximum height (Rz value) was (2.42±0.22), (0.87±0.10) and (3.77±0.28) nm (F=91.95, P<0.001), with statistical significance (P<0.05). The contact angles were 81.23°±0.91°, 82.08°±2.10°, and 80.47°±1.85°, respectively, with no statistically significant overall difference (F=0.45, P=0.658). Human gingival epithelial cells showed irregular shapes such as flattened and extended polygons and polygons on the surface of the three groups of specimens, exhibiting a typical paving stone pattern. The differences in cell proliferation among the three groups at 1 and 3 d of culture were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Cell proliferation in the polyetheretherketone group was significantly greater those those in the zirconia and pure titanium groups at 5 and 7 d of culture (P<0.05). The mRNA expression levels and protein expression levels of laminin α3, integrin β4, and collagen ⅩⅦ in the polyetheretheretherketone group at 3 and 7 d of incubation were significantly greater than those in the zirconium oxide and pure titanium groups at the same time points (P<0.05). Conclusions: Polyetheretherketone is more conducive to the adhesion of hemidesmosome in human gingival epithelial cells than zirconium dioxide and pure titanium abutment materials.

Abstract
The developmental plasticity of the maize inflorescence depends on meristems, which directly affect reproductive potential and yield. However, the molecular roles of upper floral meristem (UFM) and lower floral meristem (LFM) in inflorescence and kernel development have not been fully elucidated. In this study, we characterized the reversed kernel1 (rk1) novel mutant, which contains kernels with giant embryos but shows normal vegetative growth like the wild type (WT). Total RNA was extracted from the inflorescence at three stages for transcriptomic analysis. A total of 250.16-Gb clean reads were generated, and 26,248 unigenes were assembled and annotated. Gene ontology analyses of differentially expressed genes (DEGs) detected in the sexual organ formation stage revealed that cell differentiation, organ development, phytohormonal responses and carbohydrate metabolism were enriched. The DEGs associated with the regulation of phytohormone levels and signaling were mainly expressed, including auxin (IAA), jasmonic acid (JA), gibberellins (GA), and abscisic acid (ABA). The transcriptome, hormone evaluation and immunohistochemistry observation revealed that phytohormone homeostasis were affected in rk1. BSA-Seq and transcriptomic analysis also provide candidate genes to regulate UFM and LFM development. These results provide novel insights for understanding the regulatory mechanism of UFM and LFM development in maize and other plants.

Abstract
PURPOSE Amide proton transfer (APT) imaging has shown its diagnostic and predictive superiority in PD in our previous studies using 2D APT imaging based on deep nuclei. We hypothesized that the pathophysiological abnormality of PD will change the APT-related parameters in the cerebral cortex, and the signal changes can contribute to accurate diagnosis of Parkinson's disease. METHODS 34 patients with sporadic Parkinson's disease (IPD) and 29 age- and sex-matched normal controls (NC) were enrolled in this prospective study. 3D-APT imaging and 3D-T1WI was performed in our participants. A volume-based morphometry algorithm was used and get automated cortical segmentations. Quantitative parameter maps of APT-related metrics were calculated by using SPM and MATLAB. The unpaired Student's t-test or Mann-Whitney U test was used for comparison of these values between IPD and NC groups. The associations between APT-related metrics and clinical assessments were investigated by Spearman correlation analysis. The receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) analysis was used to assess the diagnostic performances. The binary logistic regression model was used to combine the imaging parameters. RESULTS There wasn't any correlations between cortical APT-related signals and clinical assessment, including the H&Y scale, the disease duration, the UPDRS III scores and the MMSE scores. The MTRasym, CESTRnr and MTRRex had significantly higher values (p <0.001, corrected by Bonferroni methods) in the IPD group than NC groups in the region of bilateral and total temporal grey matter. The single parameters achieved the best diagnostic performance among all APT-related metrics was MTRRex on the right temporal grey matter, with an area under the ROC curve (AUC) of 0.865. The combined parameters achieved the highest diagnostic performance (AUC: 0.932). CONCLUSIONS 3D-APT imaging could identify the changes of the cerebral cortex in Parkinson's disease. The cortical changes of APT-related parameters could potentially serve as imaging biomarkers to aid in the non-invasive diagnosis of PD.

Abstract
Patterned photonic crystals (PCs) have great application potential in the textile field owing to their attractive high-saturation iridescent effect. Herein, based on the idea of resist printing, a novel approach to constructing patterned photonic crystals via screen printing was designed and achieved. A colorless pattern with hydrophilic and hydrophobic difference was firstly prepared by screen printing using a hydrophilic polymer paste printed on a hydrophobic fabric, and then the PC structurally colored pattern was obtained through scrapping liquid photonic crystals (LPCs) on the fabric because the LPCs were spread and assembled in the hydrophilic pattern but resisted in the hydrophobic areas, so that to realize the rapid preparation of patterned PCs on the fabric surface. Once the contact angle difference (ΔCA) between the hydrophilic and hydrophobic areas exceeded 80, the "color paste" (that is, LPCs) did not stain the hydrophobic area at all after scrapping, and the assembled PCs pattern showed good contour sharpness and high-saturation iridescence effect. The complex multistructural color patterns on the fabrics were achieved by adjusting the size of nanospheres and using multistep printing and scrapping. The preparation of the protective layer on the PC surface effectively improved the structural stability of the patterned PCs while retaining the optical properties of the pattern. This patterned PCs preparation method was combined with a conventional responsive substance (rhodamine B) to obtain double anti-counterfeiting patterned PCs with the iridescence effect. The results suggested a promising future in both the highly efficient preparation of patterned PCs and the application of PCs in the anti-counterfeiting field.

Abstract
Statins are a kind of prescription drug that is widely used to treat hyperlipidemia, coronary artery disease, and other atherosclerotic diseases. A common side effect of statin use is a mild rise in liver aminotransferases, which occurs in less than 3% of patients. Statin-related liver injury is most commonly caused by atorvastatin and simvastatin, but severe liver injury is uncommon. Therefore, understanding and evaluating hepatotoxicity and weighing the benefits and risks is of great significance to better realize the protective effect of statins.

Abstract
Objective: To preliminarily analyze the application experience of veno-arterio-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VAV-ECMO).The VAV-ECMO is a rescue strategy for patients with extremely critical respiratory failure combined with refractory shock. Methods: From February 2016 to February 2022, the characteristics and outcomes of patients who were started on either veno-venous or veno-arterial ECMO due to respiratory or hemodynamic failure, and then converted to VAV-ECMO in respiratory intensive care unit (ICU) of Beijing Chaoyang Hospital were analyzed. Results: A total of 15 patients underwent VAV-ECMO, aged 53 (40, 65) years, and 11 of whom were male. Within the group, VV-ECMO was initially used in 12 patients due to respiratory failure, but then VAV-ECMO was used due to cardiogenic shock (7/12) and septic shock (4/12), while VAV-ECMO was established in two patients due to lung transplantation. One patient was diagnosed with pneumonia complicated by septic shock, which was initially determined to be VA-ECMO, but then switched to VAV-ECMO because it was difficult to maintain oxygenation. The time from the establishment of VV or VA-ECMO to the switch to VAV-ECMO was 3 (1, 5) days and the VAV-ECMO support time was 5 (2, 8) days. ECMO-related complications were bleeding, mostly in the digestive tract (n=4) and airway hemorrhage (n=4), without intracranial hemorrhage, and poor arterial perfusion of the lower limbs (n=2). Among these 15 patients, the overall ICU mortality was 53.3%. The mortality of patients who received VAV-ECMO due to septic shock and cardiogenic shock was 100% (4/4) and 42.8% (3/7), respectively. Two patients who received VAV-ECMO due to lung transplantation all survived. Conclusion: VAV-ECMO may be a safe and effective treatment for carefully selected patients with critical respiratory failure associated with cardiogenic shock or end-stage lung disease lung transplantation transition, however, patients with septic shock may benefit the least.

Abstract
Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), an ultra-sensitive and non-destructive analytic technique, has attracted wide attention from the scientific community. Despite its rapid development, limited hotspots on the SERS substrates have restricted their potential in practical applications. Herein, we developed a facile method to fabricate a flexible three-dimensional (3D) SERS substrate composed of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs)-loaded carbon aerogels (CAs). Such a flexible Ag NPs/CAs substrate exhibited numerous hotspots, which can facilely be adjusted not only by tuning the density of Ag NPs but also by controlling the bending degree of the flexible substrate. In addition, the influence of hotspots on the local electric field enhancement was investigated by theoretical calculations. Moreover, the 3D network structure of the CAs with a large specific surface area and strong adsorption ability can improve the capture of target molecules. Consequently, the optimal Ag NPs/CAs substrate has a low detection limit of 10-12 M for rhodamine 6G molecules as well as good repeatability. Furthermore, based on the good performance of SERS detection of the Ag NPs/CAs substrate, it can also be practically used for the detection of thiram molecules on the surface of cherry tomatoes. Such a flexible 3D Ag NPs/CAs substrate has great potential for practical environmental monitoring applications.

Abstract
Objective: Fetomaternal hemorrhage (FMH) is an alloimmunization resulting caused by the incompatibility between fetal and maternal blood. For the prevention of newborn haemolytic disease (HDN), it is crucial to quantify the amount of fetomaternal hemorrhage. However, the classical Kleihauer-Betke test (K-B test) for detecting fetomaternal hemorrhage is limited by experimental tools and conditions and is not suitable for routine clinical use. Consequently, the method of prenatal diagnosis of fetomaternal hemorrhage applicable to the clinic is a topic worthy of further study. Therefore, it is worthwhile to further investigation on the clinically applicable prenatal diagnosis method for fetomaternal hemorrhage. Methods: This experiment demonstrates hydrogel's ability to separate sensitized red blood cells from soluble antibodies. Using flow cytometry the fluorescence values of sensitized red blood cells and fluorophore-labeled antibodies were measured, and the testing steps for the detection products of a novel technology were determined. The properties of a hydrogel fluoroimmunoassay were evaluated by distinguishing between the amounts of fetal and adult haemoglobin. The precision of this technology is evaluated using the Kleihauer-Betke test as a comparison. Results: This experiment compared the detection of haemoglobin fluorescence in adults (n = 2) and fetuses (n = 6). At the same time, the fluorescence intensity of different fetal haemoglobin (HbF) in adult haemoglobin (HbA) was calculated. The fluorescence value is 1.6% when the fetal hemoglobin concentration is 0.1%. Conclusion: The novel hydrogel fluoroimmunoassay can accurately determine the fluorescence intensity by flow cytometry to differentiate fetal haemoglobin from adult haemoglobin, quantitatively prenatally diagnose fetal haemoglobin, address the incompatibility between fetal and maternal blood types, and prevent alloimmunization.

Abstract
Necroptosis is a newly identified programmed cell death associated with the biological process of various cancers, including esophageal carcinoma (ESCA). Meanwhile, the dysregulation of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) is greatly implicated in ESCA progression and necroptosis regulation. However, the lncRNAs involved in regulating necroptosis in ESCA are still unclear. In this study, we aim to explore the expression profile of necroptosis-related lncRNAs (NRLs), and evaluate their roles in ESCA prognosis and treatment. In the present study, 198 differentially expressed NRLs were identified between the ESCA and adjacent normal tissues through screening the data extracted from the Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. And, a prognostic panel consisting of 6 NRLs was constructed using the LASSO algorithm and multivariate Cox regression analysis. The ESCA patients with high risks had a markedly reduced survival time and higher mortality prevalence. Moreover, C-index of 6 NRLs-panel was superior to 48 published prognostic models based on lncRNAs or mRNAs for ESCA. There were significant differences between the high-risk and low-risk groups in tumor-related pathways, genetic mutations, and drug sensitivity responses. In vitro analysis revealed that inhibition of PVT1 impeded the proliferation, migration, and colony formation of ESCA cells, increased the expressions of p-RIP1 and p-MLKL and promoted necroptosis. By contrast, PVT1 overexpression resulted in a decrease in necroptotic cell death events, thus promoting tumor progression. Collectively, the established 6-NRLs panel was a promising biomarker for the prognostic prediction of ESCA. Moreover, our current findings provided potential targets for individualized therapy for ESCA patients.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Regulated cell death plays a very important role in atherosclerosis (AS). Despite a large number of studies, there is a lack of literature on immunogenic cell death (ICD) in AS. METHOD Carotid atherosclerotic plaque single-cell RNA (scRNA) sequencing data were analyzed to define involved cells and determine their transcriptomic characteristics. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analysis, CIBERSORT, ESTIMATE and ssGSEA (Gene Set Enrichment Analysis), consensus clustering analysis, random forest (RF), Decision Curve Analysis (DCA), and the Drug-Gene Interaction and DrugBank databases were applied for bulk sequencing data. All data were downloaded from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). RESULT mDCs and CTLs correlated obviously with AS occurrence and development (k2(mDCs) = 48.333, P < 0.001; k2(CTL) = 130.56, P < 0.001). In total, 21 differentially expressed genes were obtained for the bulk transcriptome; KEGG enrichment analysis results were similar to those for differentially expressed genes in endothelial cells. Eleven genes with a gene importance score > 1.5 were obtained in the training set and validated in the test set, resulting in 8 differentially expressed genes for ICD. A model to predict occurrence of AS and 56 drugs that may be used to treat AS were obtained with these 8 genes. CONCLUSION Immunogenic cell death occurs mainly in endothelial cells in AS. ICD maintains chronic inflammation in AS and plays a crucial role in its occurrence and development. ICD related genes may become drug-targeted genes for AS treatment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Ultrasound-guided radiofrequency ablation has been recommended as an alternative to surgery for benign thyroid nodules. However, little is known about the benefit from the application of radiofrequency ablation for benign thyroid nodules in elderly patients. The purpose of this study was to compare the clinical outcomes of radiofrequency ablation versus thyroidectomy for elderly patients with benign thyroid nodules. MATERIALS AND METHODS This retrospective study evaluated 230 elderly patients (60 years of age or older) with benign thyroid nodules treated with radiofrequency ablation (R group, n = 49) or thyroidectomy (T group, n = 181). Complications, thyroid function, and treatment variables, including procedural time, estimated blood loss, hospitalization, and cost, were compared after propensity score matching. The volume, volume reduction rate, symptoms, and cosmetic score were also evaluated in the R group. RESULTS After 1:1 matching, each group had 49 elderly patients. The rate of overall complications and hypothyroidism was 26.5% and 20.4% in the T group, respectively, but these complications were totally absent from the R group (P < .001, P = .001). Patients in the R group had a significantly shorter procedural time (median, 4.8 versus 95.0 minutes, P < .001) and lower cost (US $1979.02 versus US $2208.80, P = .013) than those treated by thyroidectomy. After radiofrequency ablation, the volume reduction rate was 94.1%, and 12.2% of nodules had completely disappeared. The symptom and cosmetic scores were both significantly reduced at the last follow-up. CONCLUSIONS Radiofrequency ablation could be considered as a first-line treatment for elderly patients with benign thyroid nodules.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical value of mixed reality-assisted puncture navigation (MRAPN) in percutaneous nephrolithotripsy (PCNL). METHODS Two hundred patients undergoing PCN were enrolled, all of whom had kidney stones to be subjected to lithotripsy by PCNL and grouped according to surgical procedure into the MRAPN (n = 100) and non-mixed reality-assisted puncture (non-MRAPN) (n = 100) groups. CT data in DICOM format for all patients in the MRAPN group were imported into 3D reconstruction and mixed reality (MR) post-processing workstations, and holographic 3D visualization modelling. Comparing parameters such as the operative time (OT), puncture time (PT), number of attempts, and estimated blood loss (EBL), a Likert scale was used to assess the clinical value of MRAPN. The Cohen κ coefficient (k) was employed to evaluate consistency among assessors; safety was assessed. RESULTS There were no significant differences in patient demographic indicators or preoperative general information between the MRAPN and non-MRAPN groups (P > .05). The clinical value of MRAPN was higher for subjective scores regarding surgical planning, intraoperative navigation, didactic guidance and physician-patient communication (all P < .001). The PT was significantly shorter in the MRAPN group (P < .001), with a shorter overall OT and lower EBL (P < .001). There were no significant differences in the overall comparison, length of hospital stay, or preoperative or postoperative creatinine (all P > .05). CONCLUSION MRAPN can safely and effectively improve the success of PCN, reduce complications, and decrease the PT, OT, and EBL.

Objective: Developing a simple, rapid, reliable, sensitive, and cost-effective method for prenatal detection of fetomaternal haemorrhage by combining multi-aperture silk membrane with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), which does not require any complicated instruments and can be visually colored, so as to provide a new method for clinical detection of fetomaternal haemorrhage. Methods: As a carrier, a chemically treated silk membrane was used to immobilize anti-A/anti-B antibody reagent. PBS washed slowly after vertically dropping red blood cells. After adding biotin-labeled anti-A/anti-B antibody reagent, PBS is slowly washed, enzyme-labeled avidin is added, and TMB is used for color development after washing. Results: When there were both anti-A and anti-B fetal erythrocytes in pregnant women's peripheral blood, the final color was dark brown. When there are no anti-A and anti-B fetal red blood cells in pregnant women's peripheral blood, the final color development results do not change, which corresponds to the color of chemically treated silk membrane. Conclusion: The new enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) based on a silk membrane can distinguish fetal red blood cells from maternal red blood cells prenatally and can be used for prenatal detection of fetomaternal haemorrhage.

Abstract
Background Multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacterial infection causes difficulty in the therapy of peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis (PDAP); however, there are few studies on multidrug-resistant organism (MDRO)-PDAP. In view of growing concerns about MDRO-PDAP, the aim of this study was to investigate the clinical features, risk factors of treatment failure, and causative pathogens of MDRO-PDAP. Methods In total, 318 patients who underwent PD between 2013 and 2019 were included in this multicenter retrospective study. Clinical features, patient outcomes, factors related to treatment failure, and microbiological profiles associated with MDRO-PDAP were analyzed and risk factors for treatment failure associated with MDR-Escherichia coli (E. coli) were further discussed. Results Of 1,155 peritonitis episodes, 146 eligible episodes of MDRO-PDAP, which occurred in 87 patients, were screened. There was no significant difference in the composition ratio of MDRO-PDAP between 2013-2016 and 2017-2019 (p > 0.05). E. coli was the most prevalent MDRO-PDAP isolate, with high sensitivity to meropenem (96.0%) and piperacillin/tazobactam (89.1%). Staphylococcus aureus was the second most common isolate and was susceptible to vancomycin (100%) and linezolid (100%). Compared to non-multidrug-resistant organism-PDAP, MDRO-PDAP was associated with a lower cure rate (66.4% vs. 85.5%), higher relapse rate (16.4% vs. 8.0%), and higher treatment failure rate (17.1% vs.6.5%). Dialysis age [odds ratio (OR): 1.034, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.016-1.052, p < 0.001] and >2 previous peritonitis episodes (OR: 3.400, 95% CI: 1.014-11.400, p = 0.047) were independently associated with treatment failure. Furthermore, longer dialysis age (OR: 1.033, 95% CI: 1.003-1.064, p = 0.031) and lower blood albumin level (OR: 0.834, 95% CI: 0.700-0.993, p = 0.041) increased the risk of therapeutic failure for MDR-E. coli infection. Conclusion The proportion of MDRO-PDAP has remained high in recent years. MDRO infection is more likely to result in worse outcomes. Dialysis age and previous multiple peritonitis infections were significantly associated with treatment failure. Treatment should be promptly individualized based on local empirical antibiotic and drug sensitivity analyses.

Abstract
Holistic understanding of physio-pathological processes requires noninvasive 3D imaging in deep tissue across multiple spatial and temporal scales to link diverse transient subcellular behaviors with long-term physiogenesis. Despite broad applications of two-photon microscopy (TPM), there remains an inevitable tradeoff among spatiotemporal resolution, imaging volumes, and durations due to the point-scanning scheme, accumulated phototoxicity, and optical aberrations. Here, we harnessed the concept of synthetic aperture radar in TPM to achieve aberration-corrected 3D imaging of subcellular dynamics at a millisecond scale for over 100,000 large volumes in deep tissue, with three orders of magnitude reduction in photobleaching. With its advantages, we identified direct intercellular communications through migrasome generation following traumatic brain injury, visualized the formation process of germinal center in the mouse lymph node, and characterized heterogeneous cellular states in the mouse visual cortex, opening up a horizon for intravital imaging to understand the organizations and functions of biological systems at a holistic level.

Abstract
In this work, a novel environment-friendly dual-emission Rhodamine B modified sulfur quantum dots (RhB-SQDs) sensing platform was established to economically monitor organochlorine pesticide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) through regulating the activity of alkaline phosphatase (ALP). This dual emission RhB-SQDs exhibited excellent fluorescence and high photostability with emission wavelengths of 455 nm and 580 nm. ALP catalyzed the hydrolysis of the substrate p-nitrophenyl phosphate to p-nitrophenol, which quenched RhB-SQDs fluorescence at 455 nm due to the internal filtration effect, but had no effect the fluorescence intensity of RhB-SQDs at 580 nm. When 2,4-D was present, the activity of ALP was specifically inhibited and enzymatic reaction was interrupted, leading to the reduction of p-nitrophenol production, so the fluorescence of RhB-SQDs at 455 nm was restored. It demonstrated a good linear relationship between the concentration of 2,4-D and F455/F580 in the range of 0.050-0.500 μg mL-1, with a detection limit of 17.3 ng mL-1. The dual-emission fluorescent probe was successfully realized in the identification of 2,4-D in natural water samples and vegetables with the advantages of exceptional accuracy, immunity to interference, and selectivity. The platform offers a fresh look at pesticide monitoring and has the potential to prevent pesticide-related health issues.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the response characteristics of patients with locally advanced/metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (nsq-NSCLC) treated with tislelizumab in combination with chemotherapy in the first line. Methods: Patients with nsq-NSCLC who achieved complete or partial remission after treatment with tislelizumab in combination with chemotherapy or chemotherapy alone in the RATIONALE 304 study, as assessed by an independent review board, were selected to analyze the response characteristics and safety profile of the responders. Time to response (TTR) was defined as the time from randomization to the achievement of first objective response. Depth of response (DpR) was defined as the maximum percentage of tumor shrinkage compared with the sum of the baseline target lesion length diameters. Results: As of January 23, 2020, 128 patients treated with tislelizumab in combination with chemotherapy achieved objective tumor response (responders), representing 57.4%(128/223) of the intention-to-treat population, with a TTR of 5.1 to 33.3 weeks and a median TTR of 7.9 weeks. Of the responders (128), 50.8%(65) achieved first remission at the first efficacy assessment (week 6), 31.3%(40) at the second efficacy assessment (week 12), and 18.0%(23) at the third and subsequent tumor assessments. The percentages of responders who achieved a depth of tumor response of 30% to <50%, 50% to <70% and 70% to 100% were 45.3%(58/128), 28.1%(36/128) and 26.6%(34/128), respectively, with median progression-free survival (PFS) of 9.0 months (95% CI: 7.7 to 9.9 months), 11.5 months (95% CI: 7.7 months to not reached) and not reached (95% CI: 11.8 months to not estimable), respectively. Tislelizumab plus chemotherapy were generally well tolerated in responders with similar safety profile to the overall safety population. Conclusion: Among responders to tislelizumab in combination with chemotherapy for nsq-NSCLC, 82.0%(105/128) achieves response within the first two tumor assessments (12 weeks) and 18.0%(23/128) achieves response at later (18 to 33 weeks) assessments, and there is a trend toward prolonged PFS in responders with deeper tumor response.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the risk factors and treatment outcome of persistent inflammation-immunosuppression-catabolism syndrome (PICS) in patients with extensive burns. Methods: A retrospective case series study was conducted. From January 2017 to December 2021, 220 patients with extensive burns who were admitted to Guangzhou Red Cross Hospital of Jinan University met the inclusion criteria, including 168 males and 52 females, aged 18-84 (43±14) years. According to the occurrence of PICS, the patients were divided into PICS group (84 patients) and non-PICS group (136 patients). The general data such as sex, age, complication of underlying diseases and acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ (APACHE Ⅱ) score on admission, sepsis-related organ failure evaluation (SOFA) scores on admission and 14 days post admission, and proportion of patients with mechanical ventilation over 48 h during treatment, special conditions such as total burn area, full-thickness burn area, proportion of patients admitted within 48 h post injury, and exposed deep wound area at the 30th day post injury, outcome indicators such as hospitalization day, total cost of hospital stay, number of surgeries, and death of patients in the 2 groups were collected and analyzed. Data were statistically analyzed with independent sample t test, Mann-Whitney U test, and chi-square test. The multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed on the indicators with statistically significant differences between the two groups except for outcome indicators, and the independent risk factors influencing secondary PICS in patients with extensive burns were screened. Results: The APACHE Ⅱ and SOFA scores on admission, and proportion of patients with mechanical ventilation over 48 h during treatment of patients in PICS group were significantly higher than those in non-PICS group (t=6.78, Z=-4.75, χ2=4.74, respectively, P<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in the rest of general data of patients between the two groups (P>0.05). The total burn area, full-thickness burn area, and exposed deep wound area at the 30th day post injury in PICS group were significantly greater than those in non-PICS group (t=6.29, Z=-7.25, Z=-8.73, P<0.05), the exposed deep wound areas at the 30th day post injury in PICS group and non-PICS group were respectively 25% (15%, 35%) total body surface area (TBSA) and 8% (0, 13%) TBSA, while the proportion of patients admitted within 48 h post injury was significantly lower than that in non-PICS group (χ2=6.13, P<0.05). The hospitalization day, total cost of hospital stay, and number of surgeries of patients in PICS group were significantly higher than those in non-PICS group (with Z values of -7.12, -8.48, and -6.87, respectively, P<0.05), while the deaths of patients in the 2 groups were similar (P>0.05). The APACHE Ⅱ score on admission and exposed deep wound area at the 30th day post injury both were the independent risk factors for PICS in patients with extensive burns (with odds ratios of 1.15 and 1.07, 95% confidence intervals of 1.06-1.25 and 1.05-1.10, respectively, P<0.05). Conclusions: The APACHE Ⅱ score on admission and exposed deep wound area at the 30th day post injury are the independent risk factors for PICS in patients with extensive burns. The patients with secondary PICS had good prognosis with more surgical intervention and hospitalization day, and higher total cost of hospital stay.

Abstract
In the treatment of solid tumors, the complex barriers composed of cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) prevent drug delivery and T cells infiltration into tumor tissues. Although nanocarriers hold great prospects in drug delivery, fibrosis causes the biological barrier and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (ITM) that impairs the anti-tumor efficacy of nanocarriers. Here, a small dendritic macromolecule loaded with doxorubicin (PAMAM-ss-DOX) (DP) is synthesized and encapsulated into pH-responsive nanoliposome, together with adjuvant toll-like receptor 7/8 (TLR7/8) agonist resiquimod (R848) and losartan (LOS). The pH-responsive liposome facilitates the simultaneous and effective delivery of DP, R848, and LOS, which can decompose and release these drugs under the acidic tumor microenvironment. The small sized DP (≈25 nm) with the ability to penetrate into tumor tissue and immunogenic cell death (ICD) can reverse the ITM and elicit immune response, which is equivalent to the effect of an in situ vaccine. Moreover, LOS reduces the activity of CAFs effectively, which can contribute to the infiltration of T cells. Therefore, this nano-platform provides a new therapeutic strategy for enhanced chemo-immunotherapy.
