Abstract
Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) is an established procedure for treating the complications of portal hypertension in liver cirrhosis. While the pathogenesis of postoperative TIPS-related hepatic encephalopathy (HE) has yet to be fully understood, intraoperative portosystemic shunts may provide a pathological basis for the occurrence of postoperative HE in patients with liver cirrhosis. Studies at home and abroad have expressed mixed opinions about TIPS-related HE. This study presents a literature review on the risk factors for and prevention and treatment of perioperative TIPS-related HE in patients with liver cirrhosis, aiming to optimize the procedure and reduce the incidence of postoperative HE.

Abstract
Osteosarcoma (OS) patients, particularly those with distant metastasis, experience rapid progression and derive poor survival benefits from traditional therapies. Currently, effective drugs for treating patients with metastatic OS remain scarce. Here, we found that the cyclic hexadepsipeptide beauvericin (BEA) functioned as a new selective TGFBR2 inhibitor with potent antiproliferative and antimetastatic activities against OS cells. Functionally, BEA inhibited TGF-β signaling-mediated proliferation, invasiveness, mesenchymal phenotype, and extracellular matrix remodeling of OS cells, and suppressed tumor growth and reduced pulmonary metastasis in vivo. Mechanistic investigation revealed that BEA selectively and directly bound to Asn 332 of TGFBR2 and inhibited its kinase activity, thereby suppressing the aggressive progression of OS cells. Together, our study identifies an innovative and natural selective TGFBR2 inhibitor with effective antineoplastic activity against metastatic OS and demonstrates that targeting TGFBR2 could be a potential therapeutic strategy for metastatic OS.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The effect of iron supplementation during pregnancy on birth outcomes may vary with maternal genetic background and needs more investigation. OBJECTIVES This prospective study aimed to evaluate the interactions between maternal iron supplementation and iron metabolism-related genetic polymorphisms on birth outcomes. METHODS This was a substudy from a community-based randomized control trial conducted in Northwest China, which included 860 women from the 2 micronutrient supplementation groups (folic acid [FA] and FA + iron group). Maternal peripheral blood, sociodemographic and health-related information, and neonatal birth outcomes were collected. Six single nucleotide polymorphisms in iron metabolism-related genes were genotyped. The alleles associated with decreased iron/hemoglobin status were used as the effect alleles. The genetic risk score (GRS) that reflected the genetic risk of low iron/hemoglobin status was estimated using the unweighted and weighted methods. Generalized estimating equations with small-sample corrections were applied to evaluate the interactions between iron supplementation and SNPs/GRS on birth outcomes. RESULTS There were significant interactions between maternal iron supplementation and rs7385804 (P = 0.009), rs149411 (P = 0.035), rs4820268 (P = 0.031), the unweighted GRS (P = 0.018), and the weighted GRS (P = 0.009) on birth weight. Compared with FA supplementation only, FA + iron supplementation significantly increased birth weight among women with more effect alleles in rs7385804 (β: 88.8 g, 95% CI: 9.2, 168.3) and the GRSs (the highest unweighted GRS, β: 135.5 g, 95% CI: 7.7, 263.4; the highest weighted GRS, β: 145.9 g, 95% CI: 43.4, 248.5); it had a trend of decreasing birth weight and increasing low birth weight risk among women with fewer effect alleles. CONCLUSIONS In our population, maternal genetic background related to iron metabolism plays a significant role in determining the efficacy of iron supplementation. Routine iron supplementation could be more beneficial to fetal weight growth among mothers with higher genetic risk for low iron/hemoglobin status.

Abstract
Dendrobium officinale is edible and has medicinal and ornamental functions. Polysaccharides and flavonoids, including anthocyanins, are important components of D. officinale that largely determine the nutritional quality and consumer appeal. There is a need to study the molecular mechanisms regulating anthocyanin and polysaccharide biosynthesis to enhance D. officinale quality and its market value. Here, we report that high light (HL) induced the accumulation of polysaccharides, particularly mannose, as well as anthocyanin accumulation, resulting in red stems. Metabolome and transcriptome analyses revealed that most of the flavonoids showed large changes in abundance, and flavonoid and polysaccharide biosynthesis was significantly activated under HL treatment. Interestingly, DoHY5 expression was also highly induced. Biochemical analyses demonstrated that DoHY5 directly binds to the promoters of DoF3H1 (involved in anthocyanin biosynthesis), DoGMPP2, and DoPMT28 (involved in polysaccharide biosynthesis) to activate their expression, thereby promoting anthocyanin and polysaccharide accumulation in D. officinale stems. DoHY5 silencing decreased flavonoid- and polysaccharide-related gene expression and reduced anthocyanin and polysaccharide accumulation, whereas DoHY5 overexpression had the opposite effects. Notably, naturally occurring red-stemmed D. officinale plants similarly have high levels of anthocyanin and polysaccharide accumulation and biosynthesis gene expression. Our results reveal a previously undiscovered role of DoHY5 in co-regulating anthocyanin and polysaccharide biosynthesis under HL conditions, improving our understanding of the mechanisms regulating stem color and determining nutritional quality in D. officinale. Collectively, our results propose a robust and simple strategy for significantly increasing anthocyanin and polysaccharide levels and subsequently improving the nutritional quality of D. officinale.

Abstract
Widespread vaccination against important diseases plays a key role for global health security, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, building and maintaining trust in immunization services remains challenging because of doubts about quality and safety of vaccines. China has periodically faced mounting pressure and even public outrage triggered by incidents of poor-quality vaccines. We aimed to evaluate the impact of the diphtheria, pertussis, and tetanus (DPT) vaccine scandal of 2018 in China and the ensuing misinformation on vaccination, and investigate differential responses to the scandal by ethnic and socioeconomic factors. With data from January 2017 to December 2018 in Sichuan province, China, we used a difference-in-differences (DID) method to compare the changes in the county-level monthly DPT vaccinations against the hepatitis B vaccinations, both before and after the DPT vaccine scandal. We found that the number of DPT vaccinations decreased by 14.0 percent in response to the vaccine scandal and ensuing misinformation. The number of vaccinations in minority regions, under-developed regions, and regions with poor medical resources decreased more than in non-minority regions, developed regions, and regions with good medical resources (24.5 versus 10.1 percent, 17.3 versus 8.3 percent, and 17.0 versus 8.7 percent, respectively). People did more online searching for "Substandard vaccine" and "DPT vaccine" after the scandal, with the socioeconomically advantaged group searching more compared with the socioeconomically disadvantaged group. The results suggest the urgent need to make true information about the vaccine easily accessible over the internet, especially for the socioeconomically disadvantaged groups. Our findings for China can also have implications for immunization service planning for better safeguarding public health in other countries, particularly developing ones.

Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the immunogenicity and safety of revaccination of 23-valent pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPV23) in elderly people aged ≥60 years. Methods: The elderly aged ≥60 years with 1 dose of PPV23 vaccination were selected as revaccination group and those without history of pneumococcal vaccine immunization were selected as the first vaccination group. One dose of PPV23 was administered to both groups, and the first blood samples were collected before vaccination while the second blood samples were collected on day 28-40 after vaccination. ELISA was used to detect the concentrations of anti-specific serotype Streptococcus pneumoniae podocyte polysaccharide immunoglobulin G, and the safety of the vaccination was evaluated after 30 days. Results: The geometric mean concentration (GMC) of antibody to 23 serotypes before the vaccination (0.73-13.73 μg/ml) was higher in revaccination group than in the first vaccination group (0.39-7.53 μg/ml), the GMC after the vaccination (1.42-31.65 μg/ml) was higher than that before the vaccination (0.73-13.73 μg/ml) in the revaccination group, and the GMC after the vaccination (1.62-43.76 μg/ml) was higher than that before the vaccination (0.39-7.53 μg/ml) in the first vaccination group; the geometric mean growth multiple in revaccination group (2.16-3.60) was lower than that in the first vaccination group (3.86-16.13); The mean 2-fold antibody growth rate was lower in revaccination group (53.68%, 95%CI: 52.30%-55.06%) than in the first vaccination group (93.16%, 95%CI: 92.18%- 94.15%), all differences were significant (P<0.001). After the vaccination, 13 serotypes of GMC were higher in the first vaccination group than in revaccination group (P<0.001), the differences were not significant for 10 serotypes of GMC (P>0.05). The incidence of local adverse reaction was 19.20% and 13.27% in revaccination group and the first vaccination group, respectively (P=0.174). Conclusions: The antibody level in ≥60 years people who received one dose of PPV23 after a 5-year interval was still higher than that in unvaccinated people. The antibody level decreased after 5 years of the first vaccination, and the antibody level could be rapidly increased by one more dose vaccination, but the overall immune response was lower than that of the first vaccination; revaccination with PPV23 has a good safety.

Abstract
The development of natural antimicrobial agents offers new strategies for food preservation due to the health hazards associated with the spoilage of meat products caused by microbial contamination. In this paper, the inhibitory mechanism of protocatechualdehyde (PCA) on Listeria monocytogenes was described, and its effect on the preservation of cooked chicken breast was evaluated. The results showed that the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of PCA on L. monocytogenes was 0.625 mg/mL. Secondly, PCA destroyed the integrity of the L. monocytogenes cell membrane, which was manifested as a decrease in membrane hyperpolarization, intracellular ATP level, and intracellular pH value. Field emission gun scanning electron microscopy (FEG-SEM) observed a cell membrane rupture. Transcriptome analysis showed that PCA may inhibit cell growth by affecting amino acid, nucleotide metabolism, energy metabolism, and the cell membrane of L. monocytogenes. Additionally, it was discovered that PCA enhanced the color and texture of cooked chicken breast meat while decreasing the level of thiobarbituric acid active substance (TBARS). In conclusion, PCA as a natural antibacterial agent has a certain reference value in extending the shelf life of cooked chicken breast.

Abstract
BACKGROUND When prepubertal lambs are superovulated, the ovarian response to gonadotropin stimulation has great individual difference and the collected oocytes have lower developmental ability than that of adult ewes. Over the years, growth hormone (GH) has been used in assisted reproduction because it can improve the reproductive performance in humans and animals. However, the effect of GH on ovaries and oocytes of prepubertal lambs remains unclear. METHODS Before and during follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) superovulation of prepubertal lambs (4‒6-week-old), the lambs were treated with high (50 mg) or low dose (25 mg) of ovine GH in a long (5 days) or short (2 days) period. The recovered oocytes were used for in vitro maturation and fertilization, and several parameters of oocyte quality and development capacity were evaluated. The possible underlying mechanisms of GH action were explored by analysis of granulosa cell (GC) transcriptome, ovarian proteome and follicular fluid metabolome. RESULTS Treatment of lambs with 50 mg GH over 5 days (long treatment) potentially promoted the response of lambs to superovulation and improved the development capacity of retrieved oocytes, consequently increasing the high quality embryo yield from lambs. A number of differently expressed genes or proteins were found in ovaries between GH-treated and untreated lambs. Cellular experiments revealed that GH reduced the oxidative stress of GCs and promoted the GC proliferation probably through activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. Finally, analysis of follicular fluid metabolome indicated that GH treatment altered the abundance of many metabolites in follicular fluid, such as antioxidants and fatty acids. CONCLUSIONS GH treatment has a beneficial role on function of lamb ovaries, which supports the development of follicles and oocytes and improves the efficiency of embryo production from prepubertal lambs.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Ovarian cancer (OC) is a gynecological tumor disease, which is usually diagnosed at an advanced stage and has a poor prognosis. It has been established that the glucose metabolism rate of cancer cells is significantly higher than that of normal cells, and the pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) is an important branch pathway for glucose metabolism. Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) is the key rate-limiting enzyme in the PPP, which plays an important role in the initiation and development of cancer (such as OC), and has been considered as a promisinganti-cancer target. AREAS COVERED In this review, based on the structure and biological function of G6PD, recent research on the roles of G6PD in the progression, metastasis, and chemoresistance of OC are summarized and accompanied by proposed molecular mechanisms, which may provide a systematic understanding of targeting G6PD for the treatment of patients with OC. EXPERT OPINION Accumulating evidence demonstrates that G6PD is a promising target of cancer. The development of G6PD inhibitors for cancer treatment merits broad application prospects.

Abstract
The newly harvested Jidan 66 (JD66) and Liangyu 99 (LY99) varieties of corns were stored for 56 days at constant temperature of 15 and 25 °C with relative humidity of 55%. The postharvest ripening resulted in more disordered secondary structure and less compact tertiary conformation of zein. The emulsifying activity and foaming stability reached maximum after storage of corns at 15 and 25 °C for 14 days, while the emulsifying stability and foaming capacity were the highest at two temperatures of storage for 7 days and 28 days, respectively. Furthermore, zein had the highest viscoelasticity as well as the strongest antioxidant activities after the storage of JD66 at two temperatures for 28 days and the storage of LY99 at 15 °C for 42 days and at 25 °C for 28 days. Therefore, appropriate postharvest ripening of corns changed the structure of zein, improving its antioxidant activities and physicochemical properties.

Abstract
Freshwater prokaryotic cyanobacteria within harmful algal blooms produce cyanotoxins which are considered major pollutants in the aquatic system. Direct exposure to cyanotoxins through inhalation, skin contact, or ingestion of contaminated drinking water can target the liver and may cause hepatotoxicity. In the current study, we investigated the effect of low concentrations of cyanotoxins on cytotoxicity, inflammation, modulation of unfolded protein response (UPR), steatosis, and fibrosis signaling in human hepatocytes and liver cell models. Exposure to low concentrations of microcystin-LR (MC-LR), microcystin-RR (MC-RR), nodularin (NOD), and cylindrospermopsin (CYN) in human bipotent progenitor cell line HepaRG and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cell lines HepG2 and SK-Hep1 resulted in increased cell toxicity. MC-LR, NOD, and CYN differentially regulated inflammatory signaling, activated UPR signaling and lipogenic gene expression, and induced cellular steatosis and fibrotic signaling in HCC cells. MC-LR, NOD, and CYN also regulated AKT/mTOR signaling and inhibited autophagy. Chronic exposure to MC-LR, NOD, and CYN upregulated the expression of lipogenic and fibrosis biomarkers. Moreover, RNA sequencing (RNA seq) data suggested that exposure of human hepatocytes, HepaRG, and HCC HepG2 cells to MC-LR and CYN modulated expression levels of several genes that regulate non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Our data suggest that low concentrations of cyanotoxins can cause hepatotoxicity and cell steatosis and promote NAFLD progression.

Abstract
Microencapsulation is an important technique for protecting the viability and activity of microorganisms under adverse environmental conditions. To improve biological control, controlled-release microcapsules of Trichoderma asperellum were prepared and embedded in combinations of the biodegradable wall materials sodium alginate (SA). The microcapsules were evaluated for their ability to control cucumber powdery mildew in the greenhouse. The results showed that the highest encapsulation efficiency of 95% was obtained by applying 1% SA and 4% calcium chloride. The microcapsules provided good, controlled release and UV resistance, and could be stored for a long time. The greenhouse experiment revealed that the T. asperellum microcapsules had a maximal biocontrol efficiency of 76% against cucumber powdery mildew. In summary, embedding T. asperellum in microcapsules is a promising technique to improve the survivability of T. asperellum conidia. The T. asperellum microcapsules exerted significant biocontrol efficiency against cucumber powdery mildew. IMPORTANCE Trichoderma asperellum is widely found in plant roots and soil and has been used for the biocontrol of various plant pathogens; however, the control efficiency of T. asperellum is usually unstable in field trials. To improve the control efficiency of T. asperellum, in the present study, T. asperellum microcapsules were prepared using sodium alginate as wall material to reduce the effects of temperature, UV irradiation, and other environmental factors on its activity, and to significantly improve its biocontrol efficiency on cucumber powdery mildew. Microcapsules can prolong the shelf life of microbial pesticides. This study provides a new way to prepare a biocontrol agent against cucumber powdery mildew with high efficiency.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The excessive consumption of take-out food has increased the risk of nutrition-related chronic diseases. Nutrition literacy (NL) is an important influencing factor of food choice. This study aimed to explore the relationship between nutrition literacy and take-out food consumption. METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted on 2130 college students in Bengbu, China. A self-reported questionnaire that included demographic information, lifestyle behavior, take-out food consumption, and nutrition literacy scale was used. Ordinal logistic regression models were used to analyze the association between nutrition literacy and take-out food consumption. RESULTS Of the students surveyed, 61.5% consumed take-out food at least once a week. NL was significantly associated with the frequency of take-out food consumption ≥ 4 times/week (OR = 0.995, 95% CI = 0.990-1.000); the difference specifically was discovered for applying skills, interactive skills, and critical skills. Moreover, students with high level NL ate less (Spicy) hot pot (OR = 0.996, 95% CI = 0.992-1.000), but more vegetable and fruit salad (OR = 1.009, 95% CI = 1.002-1.015). CONCLUSIONS NL, especially in applying skills, interactive skills, and critical skills, is not only associated with consumption frequency of take-out food among college students, but also links with types of take-out food consumption. Our findings emphasize that targeted interventions on nutritional skills literacy should be needed to improve dietary behaviors for student's good health.

Abstract
In plants, the timely degeneration of tapetal cells is essential for providing nutrients and other substances to support pollen development. Rapid alkalinization factors (RALFs) are small, cysteine-rich peptides known to be involved in various aspects of plant development and growth, as well as defense against biotic and abiotic stresses. However, the functions of most of them remain unknown, while no RALF has been reported to involve tapetum degeneration. In this study, we demonstrated that a novel cysteine-rich peptide, EaF82, isolated from shy-flowering 'Golden Pothos' (Epipremnum aureum) plants, is a RALF-like peptide and displays alkalinizing activity. Its heterologous expression in Arabidopsis delayed tapetum degeneration and reduced pollen production and seed yields. RNAseq, RT-qPCR, and biochemical analyses showed that overexpression of EaF82 downregulated a group of genes involved in pH changes, cell wall modifications, tapetum degeneration, and pollen maturation, as well as seven endogenous Arabidopsis RALF genes, and decreased proteasome activity and ATP levels. Yeast two-hybrid screening identified AKIN10, a subunit of energy-sensing SnRK1 kinase, as its interacting partner. Our study reveals a possible regulatory role for RALF peptide in tapetum degeneration and suggests that EaF82 action may be mediated through AKIN10 leading to the alteration of transcriptome and energy metabolism, thereby causing ATP deficiency and impairing pollen development.

Abstract
Antibiotic resistance is a pressing global health issue, leading to increased illnesses and fatalities. The contribution of viruses to the acquisition, preservation, and dissemination of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) is not yet fully understood. By using a high-throughput functional gene-based microarray (GeoChip 5.0), this study examines the prevalence and relative abundance of bacteriophage and eukaryotic viral genes in swine manure, compost, compost-amended agricultural soil, and unamended soil from suburban regions of Beijing, China. Our findings reveal a significantly elevated presence of biomarker viral genes in compost-amended soils compared to unamended soils, suggesting potential health risks associated with compost fertilization. We also observed stronger ecological interactions between ARGs and viral genes in manure and compost than in soils. Network analysis identified arabinose efflux permeases and EmrB/QacA resistance genes, linked to CRISPR encoding sequences, as keystone nodes, indicating possible ARG acquisition via virus infections. Moreover, positive correlations were found between viral genes, antibiotic concentrations, and ARG diversity in manure, compost, and compost-amended soils, highlighting a likely pathway for virus-mediated ARG transfer. In summary, our results indicate that use of compost as a fertilizer in agricultural settings could facilitate the spread of ARGs through viral mechanisms, allowing for time-delayed genetic exchanges over broader temporal and spatial scales than ARGs within bacterial genomes.

Abstract
Background Prostate cancer (PCa) is among the most generally diagnosed cancers in males. A long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) called AC245100.4 has been discovered and linked to PCa carcinogenesis. However, its specific and potential mechanism is uncertain in PCa. In this research, we investigated the role of AC245100.4 in cell proliferation and the underlying mechanism in PCa cells. Methods qRT-PCR assays were utilized to detect AC245100.4 expression and confirm its downstream target. The pathways related to AC245100.4 were identified by RAP-MS. PCa cell proliferation was experimented by Cell Counting Kit-8 and Colony formation assays. Western blot was performed to detect PAR2, AKT, p-AKT, Cyclin D1 and PCNA expression. Results AC245100.4/PAR2 overexpression promotes PCa cell proliferation and the opposite results are obtained after AC245100.4/PAR2 knockdown. Mechanistically, we found that PAR2 is confirmed as the AC245100.4 downstream target and AC245100.4 promotes PCa cell proliferation by regulating PAR2. AC245100.4 promotes PCa cell proliferation via PI3K/AKT pathway. Rescue assays validated that PAR2 knockdown reversed the impact of AC245100.4 overexpression on increasing p-AKT protein levels. Conclusion This research revealed that AC245100.4 enhances cell proliferation in PCa cells through modulating the PAR2/PI3K/AKT axis, which may offer novel tumor markers and potential therapeutic targets for PCa.

Abstract
Aim Hyperfibrinogenemia had been widely observed in various cancer patients, however, whether fibrinogen (FIB) influences the survival outcome of patients with primary liver cancer (PLC) remains unknown. This study was aimed to evaluate the predictive value of preoperative FIB in the survival outcome of PLC patients and explore the possible mechanism. Methods Retrospective study was performed in PLC patients who underwent hepatectomy. Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the independent risk factors of the overall survival (OS) of PLC patients. The predictive value of FIB for the survival outcome was analyzed by Kaplan-Meier method, receiver operating characteristic curve and Cox proportional hazard model combined with B-splines. Hepatoma cell migration and invasion were detected by wound healing assay and Transwell assay, protein expression was measured by Western blot. mTOR inhibitor and PTEN overexpression plasmid were used to confirm the involvement of the PTEN/AKT/mTOR pathway during FIB treatment. Results Preoperative FIB was confirmed to be related with the OS in PLC patients, higher FIB (>2.5 g/L) indicated higher hazard ratio. Meanwhile, FIB could promote hepatoma cell migration and invasion through the activation of AKT/mTOR pathway and epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT). Moreover, the promotion of FIB on cell migration and invasion could be inhibited by mTOR inhibitor and PTEN overexpression. Conclusions Preoperative FIB could be related with the prognosis of PLC patients, the risk of death in PLC patients gradually increases along with the up-regulation of FIB. FIB may promote hepatoma metastasis by inducing EMT via the activation of PTEN/AKT/mTOR pathway.

Abstract
AIMS Vessel co-option is responsible for tumor resistance to antiangiogenic therapies (AATs) in patients with colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRCLM). However, the mechanisms underlying vessel co-option remain largely unknown. Herein, we investigated the roles of a novel lncRNA SYTL5-OT4 and Alanine-Serine-Cysteine Transporter 2 (ASCT2) in vessel co-option-mediated AAT resistance. METHODS SYTL5-OT4 was identified by RNA-sequencing and verified by RT-qPCR and RNA fluorescence in situ hybridization assays. The effects of SYTL5-OT4 and ASCT2 on tumor cells were investigated by gain- and loss-of-function experiments, and those of SYTL5-OT4 on ASCT2 expression were analyzed by RNA immunoprecipitation and co-immunoprecipitation assays. The roles of SYTL5-OT4 and ASCT2 in vessel co-option were detected by histological, immunohistochemical, and immunofluorescence analyses. RESULTS The expression of SYTL5-OT4 and ASCT2 was higher in patients with AAT-resistant CRCLM. SYTL5-OT4 enhanced the expression of ASCT2 by inhibiting its autophagic degradation. SYTL5-OT4 and ASCT2 promoted vessel co-option by increasing the proliferation and epithelial-mesenchymal transition of tumor cells. Combination therapy of ASCT2 inhibitor and antiangiogenic agents overcame vessel co-option-mediated AAT resistance in CRCLM. CONCLUSION This study highlights the crucial roles of lncRNA and glutamine metabolism in vessel co-option and provides a potential therapeutic strategy for patients with AAT-resistant CRCLM.

Abstract
This study was to investigate the effects of dietary supplementation with putrescine on the growth performance and meat quality of chickens. A total of 480 eighty-day-old female Wenchang chickens were randomly assigned into four groups, with 8 replications per group and 15 animals per replicate. The chickens in the control group (Con) were fed a basal diet; the 3 experimental groups were fed a basal diet with 0.01%, 0.03%, and 0.05% putrescine, respectively. The experiment lasted for 40 days. The results showed that dietary supplementation with 0.05% putrescine increased (p < 0.05) the final body weight and average daily weight gain, and decreased the ratio of feed intake to the body weight gain of Wenchang chickens. Dietary supplementation with putrescine decreased the concentrations of putrescine, spermidine, and spermine in serum (p < 0.05). The contents of methionine, phenylalanine, lysine, aspartic acid, tyrosine, total essential amino acids, and total amino acids in breast muscle were higher (p < 0.05) in 0.03% and 0.05% groups than those in Con group. However, the contents of undecanoic acid, lauric acid, tridecanoic acid, myristic acid, pentadecanoic acid, arachidic acid, docosanoic acid, tricosanic acid, lignoceric acid, erucic acid, cis-11,14,17-eicosatrienoate, linoleic acid, and total n-6 monounsaturated fatty acids in breast muscle were lower (p < 0.05) in 0.03% and 0.05% groups than those in Con group. In addition, putrescine supplementation decreased (p < 0.05) the ratio of n-6/n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in breast meat. Overall, dietary supplementation with 0.05% putrescine enhanced the growth performance and meat quality of Wenchang chickens.

Abstract
1. A dose‒response experiment with six supplemental levels of coated sodium butyrate (CSB) (0, 250, 500, 750, 1,000, and 1,250 mg/kg) was conducted to investigate its effects on growth performance, intestinal morphology, and caecal short-chain fatty acids of growing Pekin ducks aged 14 to 35 d. A total of 288 male 14-d-old Pekin ducks were randomly allocated to six dietary treatments. Each treatment had eight replicate pens of six ducks per pen.2. The daily weight gain, daily feed intake, and feed/gain of ducks from 14 to 35 d of age were not influenced by increasing CSB levels. The relative weight and length of the duodenum, jejunum, and cecum increased linearly or quadratically as supplemental CSB increased (P<0.05).3. For the ileum and caecum, the villus height and height/crypt depth increased linearly or quadratically, and the villus crypt depth decreased linearly as the supplemental CSB increased (P<0.05). As supplemental CSB increased, the goblet cell numbers of the ileum increased and decreased and changed quadratically (P<0.05), but caecal goblet cell number increased quadratically (P<0.05). Increasing the CSB level linearly or quadratically elevated the concentrations of acetic acid, propionic acid, and butyric acid in the cecum (P<0.05).4. It was concluded that CSB can be used as a safe and effective feed additive to promote the intestinal integrity of growing ducks by improving intestinal morphology and increasing the concentration of caecal short-chain fatty acids.

Abstract
Tin oxide (SnO2) is the most commonly used electron transport material for perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Various techniques have been applied to deposit tin dioxide, including spin-coating, chemical bath deposition, and magnetron sputtering. Among them, magnetron sputtering is one of the most mature industrial deposition techniques. However, PSCs based on magnetron-sputtered tin oxide (sp-SnO2) have a lower open-circuit voltage (Voc) and power conversion efficiency (PCE) than those prepared by the mainstream solution method. This is mainly due to the oxygen-related defects at the sp-SnO2/perovskite interface, and traditional passivation strategies usually have little effect on them. Herein, we successfully isolate the oxygen adsorption (Oads) defects located on the surface of sp-SnO2 from the perovskite layer using a PCBM double-electron transport layer. This isolation strategy effectively suppresses the Shockley-Read-Hall recombination at the sp-SnO2/perovskite interface, which results in an increase in the Voc from 0.93 to 1.15 V and an increase in PCE from 16.66 to 21.65%. To our knowledge, this is the highest PCE achieved using a magnetron-sputtered charge transport layer to date. The unencapsulated devices maintain 92% of their initial PCE after storage in air with a relative humidity of 30-50% after 750 h. We further use the solar cell capacitance simulator (1D-SCAPS) to confirm the effectiveness of the isolation strategy. This work highlights the application prospect of magnetron sputtering in the field of perovskite solar cells and provides a simple yet effective way to tackle the interfacial defect issue.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of preventive interventions for lateral ankle sprain in the general population. DATA SOURCES A search of PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane CENTRAL, Medline, CINAHL, and ClinicalTrials.gov was conducted up to August 2022. REVIEW METHODS Randomized controlled trials and prospective cohort studies that evaluated any interventions for preventing lateral ankle sprain were included. Two reviewers independently conducted the search, screening, and data extraction. The methodological quality of each study was assessed using the revised Cochrane risk-of-bias tool for randomized trials or using the Cochrane Risk Of Bias In Non-Randomized Studies tool for prospective cohort studies. RESULTS Seventeen studies met the inclusion criteria. Proprioceptive training exhibited better effects on preventing future lateral ankle sprain compared with the control group (risk ratio = 0.59, p < 0.001), and a stronger preventive effect was observed in participants with a history of lateral ankle sprain in the subgroup analysis (risk ratio = 0.49, p = 0.02). Compared with no bracing, ankle bracing had no significant better effect in preventing lateral ankle sprain (risk ratio = 0.43, p = 0.05). Proprioceptive training and ankle bracing had similar preventive effects (risk ratio = 0.98, p = 0.97). Limited evidence hindered the synthesis of data on pain, swelling, costs, and time loss. CONCLUSION Proprioceptive training is recommended for preventing lateral ankle sprain, especially for people with a history of lateral ankle sprain. Bracing seems to have an ambiguous preventive effect and requires more further investigation.

Abstract
What is already known on this topic? Limited data exist regarding the coverage of the 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) in China. A lack of official statistics, coupled with an insufficient body of published literature, hinders the accurate depiction of the current situation. What is added by this report? This study investigated the utilization of PCV13 and estimated its coverage in nine provinces across eastern, central, and western China between 2019 and 2021. Despite an annual increase in PCV13 usage during this period, the overall coverage remained suboptimal. What are the implications for public health practice? Consideration should be given to incorporating vaccines into the Expanded Program of Immunization, reducing vaccine prices, and addressing the vaccination coverage gap between eastern and western regions when there is an adequate supply of PCV13, particularly with domestic vaccines.
