Abstract
BACKGROUND Poly-(ADP-Ribose)-Polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) were reported as radiosensitizers in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with wide-type epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), but the effects of radiation combined with PARPi were not investigated in EGFR-mutated NSCLC. Moreover, the underlying mechanisms were not well examined. This study aimed to study the efficacy of radiation combined with niraparib in EGFR-mutated NSCLC and explore their influence on the immune system. METHODS Clone formation and apoptosis assay were conducted to explore the effects of niraparib and radiation. Immunofluorescence was conducted to detect the double-strand DNA breaks. Real-time PCR and immunoblotting were employed to evaluate the activation of STING/TBK1/TRF3 pathway and the expression levels of interferon β, CCL5 and CXCL10. Immunocompetent mice model bearing with subcutaneous Lewis lung cancer was established to confirm the results in vivo. RESULTS Niraparib and radiation were synergistic to inhibit tumor both in vitro and in vivo. Radiation plus niraparib could activate anti-tumor immunity, which appeared as increased CD8+ T lymphocytes and activated STING/TBK1/IRF3 pathway. CONCLUSION PARPi not only as a radiosensitizer inhibited EGFR-mutated NSCLC tumor growth, but also cooperated with radiation to promote anti-tumor immune responses.

Abstract
Using pp collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb^{-1} collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, the B^{0}→D^{-}D^{+}K^{+}π^{-} decay is studied. A new excited D_{s}^{+} meson is observed decaying into the D^{+}K^{+}π^{-} final state with large statistical significance. The pole mass and width, and the spin parity of the new state are measured with an amplitude analysis to be m_{R}=2591±6±7 MeV, Γ_{R}=89±16±12 MeV, and J^{P}=0^{-}, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. Fit fractions for all components in the amplitude analysis are also reported. The new resonance, denoted as D_{s0}(2590)^{+}, is a strong candidate to be the D_{s}(2^{1}S_{0})^{+} state, the radial excitation of the pseudoscalar ground-state D_{s}^{+} meson.

Abstract
The rare decay K_{L}→π^{0}νν[over ¯] was studied with the dataset taken at the J-PARC KOTO experiment in 2016, 2017, and 2018. With a single event sensitivity of (7.20±0.05_{stat}±0.66_{syst})×10^{-10}, three candidate events were observed in the signal region. After unveiling them, contaminations from K^{±} and scattered K_{L} decays were studied, and the total number of background events was estimated to be 1.22±0.26. We conclude that the number of observed events is statistically consistent with the background expectation. For this dataset, we set an upper limit of 4.9×10^{-9} on the branching fraction of K_{L}→π^{0}νν[over ¯] at the 90% confidence level.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Anaerobic bacteria can enter the solid tumor in the hypoxic region to colonize and proliferate. Aggregation of nanoparticles in the tumor area can enhance molecular imaging and therapy. It is hypothesized that the combination of the two could possibly achieve better imaging and tumor treatment. This study presents a biocompatible bacteria-based system that can deliver cationic phase-change nanoparticles (CPNs) into solid tumor to achieve enhanced imaging and treatment integration. MATERIALS AND METHODS Cationic phase-change nanoparticles (CPNs) and Bifidobacterium longum (BF) were mixed to determine the best binding rate and were placed in an agar phantom for ultrasonography. BF-CPNs complex adhesion to breast cancer cells was observed by laser confocal microscopy. In vivo, BF-CPNs and control groups were injected into tumors in breast cancer nude mouse models. Nanoparticles distribution was observed by ultrasound and in vivo fluorescence imaging. HIFU ablation was performed after injection. Gross and histological changes were compared and synergy was evaluated. RESULTS Bifidobacterium longum (BF) and CPNs were combined by electrostatic adsorption. The BF-CPNs particles could increase the deposition of energy after liquid-gas phase-change during High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) irradiation of tumor. CONCLUSIONS This study shows a valid method in diagnosis and therapy integration for providing stronger imaging, longer retention time, and more effective tumor treatment.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Diffuse midline glioma with H3K27M mutation is a new tumor type of WHO central nervous system tumor classification. It often occurs in the midline structure and usually has a poor prognosis. CASE REPORT A 38-year-old male patient presented with 2 years history of right limb with facial numbness, tumors in the left thalamic region and lateral ventricle was detected by imaging. The patient underwent the first surgery. RESULTS The pathological examination results: Glioblastoma. He recovered well after surgery and received a total of 30 times of radiotherapy and temozolomide for one year. Fourteen months later, tumours were observed in the left thalamic region and left parieto-occipital lobe, the patient underwent the second operation. Immunohistochemistry showed: H3K27M(+). He experienced limitation of right limb movement after surgery and started taking oral apatinib 250 mg qd. After one-year, multiple tumors were found in the left brainstem, bilateral ventricles, bilateral basal ganglia, etc. The patient was given radiotherapy 7 times and then took apatinib 250 mg qd. Now the patient is still alive. CONCLUSIONS H3K27M mutant diffuse midline glioma is characterized by diffuse infiltrative growth. Its pathological classification is diverse, imaging features lack specificity, and prognostic factors are complex. Traditional radiochemotherapy has limited effects, molecular targeted therapy, especially intervention of epigenetic regulation is being explored.

Wang J, Zhu LS, Luo Y, Wang CH, Wei YY, Zhou LM. Transcription factor ZNF703 activates linc-UBC1 to stimulate the progression of glioma. EUROPEAN REVIEW FOR MEDICAL AND PHARMACOLOGICAL SCIENCES 2021; 24:3183-3189. [PMID: 32271436 DOI: 10.26355/eurrev_202003_20685] [Citation(s) in RCA: 1] [Impact Index Per Article: 0.3] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/12/2022]
Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the role of the transcription factor Zinc finger 703 (ZNF703) in influencing the progression of glioma by regulating linc-UBC1 level. MATERIALS AND METHODS Linc-UBC1 level in glioma with different staging and tumor sizes was determined. The potential influences of linc-UBC1 on viability, cell cycle progression, and invasiveness of glioma cells were evaluated. Through RNA binding protein immunoprecipitation (RIP) assay and Dual-Luciferase reporter gene assay, the interaction between ZNF703 and linc-UBC1 was assessed. The rescue experiments were conducted to identify the role of ZNF703 in regulating cellular performances of glioma by interacting with linc-UBC1. RESULTS Linc-UBC1 was highly expressed in glioma. Its level was higher in glioma with larger tumor size or advanced staging. The knockdown of linc-UBC1 reduced viability, arrested cell cycle in the G0/G1 phase, and attenuated invasiveness of U87 and LN229 cells. The presence of the binding sites was observed in the promoter regions of ZNF703 and linc-UBC1. The overexpression of ZNF703 could alleviate the inhibited proliferative and invasive potentials in U87 and LN229 cells with the linc-UBC1 knockdown. CONCLUSIONS The transcription factor ZNF703 promotes the proliferative and invasive potentials in glioma cells by regulating the transcriptional activity of linc-UBC1.

Observation of Multiplicity Dependent Prompt χ_{c1}(3872) and ψ(2S) Production in pp Collisions. PHYSICAL REVIEW LETTERS 2021; 126:092001. [PMID: 33750184 DOI: 10.1103/physrevlett.126.092001] [Citation(s) in RCA: 0] [Impact Index Per Article: 0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Track Full Text] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Received: 09/15/2020] [Revised: 11/16/2020] [Accepted: 01/19/2021] [Indexed: 06/12/2023]
Abstract
The production of χ_{c1}(3872) and ψ(2S) hadrons is studied as a function of charged particle multiplicity in pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb^{-1}. For both states, the fraction that is produced promptly at the collision vertex is found to decrease as charged particle multiplicity increases. The ratio of χ_{c1}(3872) to ψ(2S) cross sections for promptly produced particles is also found to decrease with multiplicity, while no significant dependence on multiplicity is observed for the equivalent ratio of particles produced away from the collision vertex in b-hadron decays. This behavior is consistent with a calculation that models the χ_{c1}(3872) structure as a compact tetraquark. Comparisons with model calculations and implications for the binding energy of the χ_{c1}(3872) state are discussed.

Abstract
A measurement of CP violation in the decay B^{+}→K^{+}π^{0} is reported using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb^{-1} collected with the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy of sqrt[s]=13 TeV. The CP asymmetry is measured to be 0.025±0.015±0.006±0.003, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to an external input. This is the most precise measurement of this quantity. It confirms and significantly enhances the observed anomalous difference between the direct CP asymmetries of the B^{0}→K^{+}π^{-} and B^{+}→K^{+}π^{0} decays, known as the Kπ puzzle.

Abstract
The first observation of the suppressed semileptonic B_{s}^{0}→K^{-}μ^{+}ν_{μ} decay is reported. Using a data sample recorded in pp collisions in 2012 with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb^{-1}, the branching fraction B(B_{s}^{0}→K^{-}μ^{+}ν_{μ}) is measured to be [1.06±0.05(stat)±0.08(syst)]×10^{-4}, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second one represents the combined systematic uncertainties. The decay B_{s}^{0}→D_{s}^{-}μ^{+}ν_{μ}, where D_{s}^{-} is reconstructed in the final state K^{+}K^{-}π^{-}, is used as a normalization channel to minimize the experimental systematic uncertainty. Theoretical calculations on the form factors of the B_{s}^{0}→K^{-} and B_{s}^{0}→D_{s}^{-} transitions are employed to determine the ratio of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements |V_{ub}|/|V_{cb}| at low and high B_{s}^{0}→K^{-} momentum transfer.

EUROPEAN REVIEW FOR MEDICAL AND PHARMACOLOGICAL SCIENCES 2021; 24:1000-1006. [PMID: 32096206 DOI: 10.26355/eurrev_202002_20150] [Citation(s) in RCA: 3] [Impact Index Per Article: 1.0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/12/2022]
Abstract
OBJECTIVE To study the effect of strontium ranelate (SR) on steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (SIONFH) in rabbits and its regulatory mechanism. MATERIALS AND METHODS The ONFH model was established in 30 rabbits using steroid and they were randomly divided into Control group, Model group, and SR group. After SR intervention, the rabbits were sacrificed and sampled. The pathological injury of the femoral head in each group was detected via hematoxylin-eosin (HE) staining, the level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the femoral head in each group was detected via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) and protein expression levels of transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1), as well as the bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP2) in the femoral head in each group, were determined using Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and Western blotting. RESULTS The rabbit model of SIONFH was successfully established. Compared with Control group, the Model group had a severer pathological injury of the femoral head, a lower level of VEGF in the femoral head, significantly decreased mRNA and protein levels of TGF-β1 and BMP2. Compared with Model group, the SR group had markedly improved pathological injury of the femoral head, a higher level of VEGF in the femoral head, significantly increased mRNA and protein levels of TGF-β1, as well as BMP2. CONCLUSIONS SR can remarkably improve the pathological injury of the femoral head and increase the expression of VEGF in SIONFH rabbits, whose potential mechanism may be related to the activation of the TGF-β1/BMP2 signaling pathway.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To investigate the general occurrence and clinical significance of absence of heterozygosity (AOH), detected by single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) array on prenatal diagnosis. METHODS We recruited pregnancies undergoing invasive prenatal diagnosis at our fetal medicine center over a 6-year period. All fetuses underwent SNP array using the Affymetrix CytoScan HD array platform. AOH was defined as a chromosomal homozygosity segment with neutral copy number. Cases with AOH over 10 Mb in size or with suspected pathogenicity were further analyzed, and the clinical features and outcome were reviewed. RESULTS Of 10 294 recruited fetuses, 100 (0.97%) with AOH were identified; in 81 (81.0%) of these, AOH occurred in a single chromosome, while 19 (19.0%) patients had multiple AOHs in different chromosomes. AOH was observed in all chromosomes, chromosomes X, 2 and 16 being the most frequently involved. The length of AOH ranged from partial chromosome (9.002-80.222 Mb) to the entire chromosome. Similar AOH regions displayed varied clinical manifestations. In total, 55 patients presented with concomitant ultrasound abnormalities, the most common being multiple abnormalities (14/55 (25.5%)), genitourinary malformations (8/55 (14.5%)), skeletal malformations (5/55 (9.1%)) and small-for-gestational age (5/55 (9.1%)). Notably, the rate of adverse perinatal outcome (including termination of pregnancy, neonatal death, fetal death, selective reduction and miscarriage) in fetuses with AOH and ultrasound abnormalities (30/48 (62.5%)) was higher than in those without ultrasound abnormalities (6/40 (15.0%)) (P < 0.001). Further non-invasive prenatal testing using cell-free fetal DNA from maternal blood indicated chromosomal copy number abnormalities in 11 patients; however, they were confirmed as AOH by SNP array of the amniotic fluid. CONCLUSIONS Genetic counseling regarding a prenatal diagnosis of AOH remains challenging. To evaluate comprehensively its significance, we propose a management strategy involving further serial ultrasound examinations, parental verification, whole-exome sequencing, placental study and effective follow-up. Abstract
Objective: To observe the short-term efficacy and safety of apatinib in combination with dose-dense paclitaxel and carboplatin in locally advanced triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients. Methods: From September 2018 to September 2019, 17 stage Ⅱ/Ⅲ TNBC patients were enrolled in this single arm, single center prospective phase Ⅱ study. They received neoadjuvant treatment of apatinib 250 mg per day, paclitaxel 175 mg/m(2) on 1(st) day and a dose of carboplatin according to the area under curve (AUC)=4 on 2(nd) day, every 14 days as a cycle. Results: By January 2020, 16 cases completed 4-7 cycles of apatinib treatment and 4-8 cycles of chemotherapy. The median cycles of apatinib treatment and chemotherapy were 5 cycles and 6 cycles, respectively. Two cases achieved complete responses (CR), 12 achieved partial responses (PR), 2 achieved stable diseases (SD) and no progressive disease was observed. The objective response rate (ORR) was 87.5%, disease control rate (DCR) was 100%. By January 2020, among 12 patients who received surgery, 8 achieved pathologic complete response (pCR, 66.7%). The grade Ⅲ/Ⅳ adverse events included: neutropenia, thrombocytopenia in 3 cases (18.8%) each, anemia, fatigue, arrhythmia and alanine aminotransferase (ALT) elevation in 1 case each. Apatinib was interrupted in 5 cases, and was discontinued in 3 cases; chemotherapy dosage was reduced in 1 case. Conclusion: Apatinib in combination with dose-dense paclitaxel and carboplatin neoadjuvant therapy are effective and well tolerated in locally advanced TNBC patients.

In addition, DB, UA and GLU were also different among groups. Subgroup analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in N(F=9.581,t=-0.152,P<0.05), N%(F=5.723,t=-0.600, P<0.05), NLR(F=4.773, t=-1.161, P<0.05), PCT(F=17.464, t=-1.477, P<0.05)and CRP(F=7.656, t=-1.973, P<0.05) between patients with lung involvement +-++ and patients with lung involvement +++-++++. There were statistically significant differences in NLR(F=63.931, t=-2.815, P<0.01), AST(F=15.704, t=-1.930, P<0.01), ALT(F=35.551, t=-2.199, P<0.01), LDH(F=7.715, t=-2.703, P<0.05) and GLU(F=6.306, t=-5.116, P<0.05) between the light+common subgroup and the heavy+critical subgroup of COVID-19 clinical classification. Correlation analysis showed that clinical stage and imaging credit period were significantly correlated with NLR (r=0.406, P=0.026; r=0.397, P=0.030), ALT (r=0.403, P=0.049; r=0.418, P=0.047), LDH (r=0.543, P<0.01; r=0.643, P<0.01) and GLU(r=0.750, P<0.01; r=0.471, P=0.042). A total of 5 principal components were extracted from all the included indicators, and the comprehensive information extraction rate was 82.86%. Indicators of a large load included Ur, PCT and CRP in PC1; ALT, AST and GLU in PC2; N%, L%, L and NLR in PC3. It indicated that the indicators of acute infection, liver function and blood routine had certein warning effect on disease surveillance. The results of ROC curve analysis showed that the combined detection of N+TB+Urea was the best practice to distinguish COVID-19 and other viral pneumonia, while the combined detection of N+L+UA was the most effective solution to make a distinction between COVID-19 and influenza A/B patients. In the aspect of disease evaluation, NL+LDH+GLU+ALT combined detection represent the best diagnostic performance to distinguish the clinical stage of light+common type and heavy+critical type, achieving the AUC (ROC) to 0.904, with the sensitivity 75% and the specificity 100% at the cut-off value of 0.477. Conclusion: In addition to etiology and imaging examination, doctors can also improve the routine laboratory tests such as blood routine test, liver and kidney function to assist diagnosis and disease prediction of patients with respiratory tract infection.

Gulinaer AJ, Ju AN, Gao M, Luo Y, Bo YL. Over-expression of miR-187 inhibited cell proliferation and metastasis of glioma via down-regulating SMAD1. EUROPEAN REVIEW FOR MEDICAL AND PHARMACOLOGICAL SCIENCES 2020; 23:10908-10917. [PMID: 31858559 DOI: 10.26355/eurrev_201912_19794] [Citation(s) in RCA: 4] [Impact Index Per Article: 1.0] [Reference Citation Analysis] [Abstract] [Subscribe] [Scholar Register] [Indexed: 11/12/2022]
Abstract
OBJECTIVE MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have been identified to participate in the tumorigenesis and progression of glioma. However, the expression and function of miR-187 have not been fully elucidated in glioma so far. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the role of miR-187 in glioma and to explore the possible underlying mechanism. PATIENTS AND METHODS The expression levels of miR-187 in 67 glioma tissues and 21 normal brain tissues, as well as 4 glioma-derived cell lines were measured using quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). MiR-187 was overexpressed or inhibited in U251 or U87MG cells using miR-187 mimics or inhibitor transfection, respectively. Colony formation assay and Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assay were employed to detect the proliferation ability of cells. Meanwhile, transwell assay and wound-healing assay were applied to evaluate the invasion and migration capacities of cells. Furthermore, Dual-Luciferase assay and Western blot analysis were used to verify the downstream target gene of miR-187 in glioma. RESULTS MiR-187 expression was significantly lower in glioma tissues and cells when compared with normal brain tissues and cell lines. Up-regulation of miR-187 markedly reduced the proliferation, migration and invasion of U251 cells compared with the negative control group. However, down-regulation of miR-187 remarkably accelerated U87MG cell growth and metastasis compared with inhibitor negative control group. Furthermore, SMAD1 was identified as a direct target for miR-187 in glioma, which could be repressed by miR-187. In addition, over-expression of SMAD1 restored the influence of miR-187 mimics in glioma cells. CONCLUSIONS MiR-187 was lowly expressed in glioma tissues and cell lines. Acting as a tumor suppressor, miR-187 inhibited cell growth, invasion, and migration in glioma via repressing SMAD1 expression. Our findings might provide a novel insight into the biological diagnosis and treatment in glioma.

Abstract
The only anticipated resonant contributions to B^{+}→D^{+}D^{-}K^{+} decays are charmonium states in the D^{+}D^{-} channel. A model-independent analysis, using LHCb proton-proton collision data taken at center-of-mass energies of sqrt[s]=7, 8, and 13 TeV, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 9 fb^{-1}, is carried out to test this hypothesis. The description of the data assuming that resonances only manifest in decays to the D^{+}D^{-} pair is shown to be incomplete. This constitutes evidence for a new contribution to the decay, potentially one or more new charm-strange resonances in the D^{-}K^{+} channel with masses around 2.9 GeV/c^{2}.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the influence of glottal stops for the relationship between nasalance and velopharyngeal closure status of cleft palate patients after surgery. Methods: A total of 71 patients with postoperative cleft palate speech disorders treated in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, School of Stomatology, Peking University from August 2004 to August 2010 were included. The compensated speech evaluation of cleft palate with or without glottic occlusion was performed in 50 males and 21 females with an average age of (15.9±6.2) years old. The nasal sound meter and nasopharyngeal fiber endoscope were used to record the nasal phonation rate and the score of nasopharyngeal fiber endoscopic visual analog scale (VAS) of the patients. According to the results of glottic plug speech evaluation, the patients were divided into three groups: whole group (without glottic plug), glottic plug group and silent glottic plug group. The nasal phonation rate values and VAS values of 11 speech samples (unit vowel No. 1-3, continuous syllable No. 4-9, sentence 10-11) of the three groups were compared by Pearson analysis. Results: There were 71 patients in the whole group, 34 patients in the glottic plug group and 37 patients in the silent glottis group. There was a negative correlation between nasal phonetic rate and VAS of 11 speech samples in the whole group, however there were no significant difference (r>-0.179 and<-0.017, P>0.017) and no significant correlation between nasal phonetic rate and VAS in glottic occlusion group (r>-0.196 and<-0.017, P>0.05). There was a significant negative correlation between nasal phonetic rate and VAS value of all but No. 1, 3 and 11 speech samples in silent door plug group (P<0.05), among which No. 7 speech sample was the most sensitive sample (r=-0.557, P<0.05). Conclusions: The present study showed the glottal stops could affect the evaluation of the velopharyngeal closure function by using nasometer. Glottal stops should be considered as one important factor for the nasalance.

Abstract
A search for the decay K_{S}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-} is performed using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.6 fb^{-1} and collected with the LHCb experiment during 2016, 2017, and 2018 at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. The observed signal yield is consistent with zero, yielding an upper limit of B(K_{S}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-})<2.2×10^{-10} at 90% C.L.. The limit reduces to B(K_{S}^{0}→μ^{+}μ^{-})<2.1×10^{-10} at 90% C.L. once combined with the result from data taken in 2011 and 2012.

Abstract
Localisation phenomena in highly disordered metals close to the extreme conditions determined by the Mott-Ioffe-Regel (MIR) limit when the electron mean free path is approximately equal to the interatomic distance is a challenging problem. Here, to shed light on these localisation phenomena, we studied the dc transport and optical conductivity properties of nanoscaled multilayered films composed of disordered metallic Ta and magnetic FeNi nanoisland layers, where ferromagnetic FeNi nanoislands have giant magnetic moments of 10[Formula: see text]-10[Formula: see text] Bohr magnetons ([Formula: see text]). In these multilayered structures, FeNi nanoisland giant magnetic moments are interacting due to the indirect exchange forces acting via the Ta electron subsystem. We discovered that the localisation phenomena in the disordered Ta layer lead to a decrease in the Drude contribution of free charge carriers and the appearance of the low-energy electronic excitations in the 1-2 eV spectral range characteristic of electronic correlations, which may accompany the formation of electronic inhomogeneities. From the consistent results of the dc transport and optical studies we found that with an increase in the FeNi layer thickness across the percolation threshold evolution from the superferromagnetic to ferromagnetic behaviour within the FeNi layer leads to the delocalisation of Ta electrons from the associated localised electronic states. On the contrary, we discovered that when the FeNi layer is discontinuous and represented by randomly distributed superparamagnetic FeNi nanoislands, the Ta layer normalized dc conductivity falls down below the MIR limit by about 60%. The discovered effect leading to the dc conductivity fall below the MIR limit can be associated with non-ergodicity and purely quantum (many-body) localisation phenomena, which need to be challenged further.

Abstract
A study of prompt charm-hadron pair production in proton-lead collisions at sqrt[s_{NN}]=8.16 TeV is performed using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of about 30 nb^{-1}, collected with the LHCb experiment. Production cross sections for different pairs of charm hadrons are measured and kinematic correlations between the two charm hadrons are investigated. This is the first measurement of associated production of two charm hadrons in proton-lead collisions. The results confirm the predicted enhancement of double parton scattering production in proton-lead collisions compared to the single parton scattering production.

Abstract
PURPOSE Our study aimed to explore the programmed death 1 (PD-1) expression on tumor-associated macrophage (TAM) in T cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (T-NHL) and its relationship with lymphoma prognosis. The effect of PD-1 expression on the function of macrophages was also studied. METHODS Multispectral image quantitative analysis was applied for detecting PD-1 expression on macrophages in T cell lymphoma tissues. The Kaplan-Meier analysis was performed to evaluate the value of PD-1 expression of TAM in predicting the overall survival of T-NHL. PD-1 overexpression THP-1-derived macrophage was constructed and was cocultured with Jurkat cells to explore the effect of PD-1 on macrophage function. RESULTS In 17 T cell lymphoma cases, the 1-year overall survival rate was significantly lower in patients with higher PD-1 expression on TAMs (0.25 vs 0.86, p < 0.05). After co-cultured with Jurkat cells, classically activated (M1)-related markers on PD-1 overexpressed macrophages were significantly lower than those on controls, while the expressions of alternatively activated (M2) related markers were similar. The PD-1 overexpressed macrophages showed inhibited phagocytosis (4.42% vs 40.7%, p < 0.001) and increased IL-10 secretion (144.48 pg/ml vs 32.32 pg/ml, p < 0.001). CONCLUSION High PD-1 expression on TAMs in T-NHL may predict poor prognosis. The PD-1 overexpression of macrophages significantly inhibited polarization of M1 macrophages and phagocytosis, and more IL-10 was excreted. These changes may enhance the pro-tumor effects of tumor microenvironment.

Abstract
Metabolic syndrome and obesity have become serious threats to public health worldwide. This study was conducted to evaluate the anti-adipogenesis and metabolism-regulating effects of heat-inactivated Streptococcus thermophilus MN-ZLW-002 (MN-ZLW-002), which can be used as a yogurt starter. In vitro study suggested that MN-ZLW-002 stimulated the RAW264.7 macrophages to produce significant amounts of interleukin (IL)-6, IL-10 and tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α and induced intense phosphorylation of P38, p44/42 MAPK and nuclear factor κB. MN-ZLW-002-stimulated RAW264.7-conditioned medium (CM) notably suppressed the differentiation and adipogenesis of 3T3-L1 pre-adipocytes. The 12-week in vivo study suggested that orally administered MN-ZLW-002 significantly reduced the weight gain of mice caused by the high-fat diet (HFD) at weeks 3-8; decreased fasting blood glucose levels at week 4 and week 8; decreased serum total triglyceride level at week 12. MN-ZLW-002 also reduced serum IL-1β and chemokine ligand 3 levels in the HFD-fed mice. These findings suggest that heat-inactivated MN-ZLW-002 can suppress adipocytes differentiation and lipid accumulation by regulating the immune response, possibly via the release of cytokines, particularly TNF-α; MN-ZLW-002 can improve metabolism-related indicators in the early stage of HFD intervention and regulate the related pro-inflammatory immune response.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Bladder cancer is considered as the fifth most common cancer in the whole world. This study aimed to investigate the anti-tumor effects of Nanoscale bubbles delivered yeast cytosine deaminase thymidine kinase/connexin 26 (YCD-TK/Cx26) on tumor cell proliferation and tumor growth. MATERIALS AND METHODS Nanoscale bubble was prepared using thin-film hydration-sonication method. Nanoscale bubble-LV5-YCD-TK+PCD-Cx26 was generated and transfected into BIU-87 cells. MTT assay was employed to detect cell viability. Apoptosis was determined using a flow cytometry assay. YCD-TK and Cx26 expressions were detected using Western blot and Real Time-PCR (RT-PCR). BIU-87 cells were transplanted into mice to establish Xenograft models. The tumor volume was recorded. HE staining was used to examine necrosis areas in tumor tissues. RESULTS Nanoscale bubble (Nanoscale bubble-LV5-YCD-TK+PCD-Cx26) successfully mediated YCD-TK and Cx26 gene expression in BIU-87 cells. Nanoscale bubble delivered YCD-TK/Cx26 expression significantly inhibited cell viability and induced apoptosis compared to Nanoscale bubble-LV5-YCD-TK and Nanoscale bubble group (p<0.05). Nanoscale bubble delivered YCD-TK/Cx26 expression triggered significantly higher levels of bystander effect compared to single YCD-TK or single Cx26 gene (p<0.05). Nanoscale bubble delivered YCD-TK/Cx26 expression significantly reduced tumor volume in mouse Xenograft bladder cancer model compared to LV5-YCD-TK and 5-FC+GCV group (p<0.05). Nanoscale bubble delivered YCD-TK/Cx26 expression significantly reduced the necrosis of tumor tissues in mouse Xenograft bladder cancer model compared to LV5-YCD-TK group and 5-FC+GCV group (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Nanoscale bubble delivered YCD-TK/Cx26 gene therapeutic system efficiently reduced BIU-87 cell proliferation in vitro, and suppressed tumor growth by inducing necrosis of tumor tissues in mouse Xenograft bladder cancer models.

Abstract
This study was conducted to determine the effect of feeding frequency on growth performance, carcass traits, and apparent nutrient digestibility in geese from 28 to 70 D of age. In experiment 1, a total of 240 geese were distributed in a completely randomized design into 4 treatments and 6 replicates of 10 birds each. The treatments were free access to the feeder (ad libitum) and access to the feeder 3, 4, and 5 times daily. Geese fed 3 times daily had a lower (P < 0.05) BW, ADG, and ADFI and a higher (P = 0.064) feed conversion ratio (FCR) from 28 to 41 D of age compared with the other groups. Geese fed 4 times daily had a higher (P < 0.05) ADG and ADFI and a lower (P < 0.05) FCR from 42 to 55 D of age compared with ad libitum fed geese. Geese fed 3 times daily had a higher (P < 0.05) ADG from 56 to 69 D of age than geese fed ad libitum and 4 times daily. No differences (P > 0.05) in BW, ADFI, ADG, and FCR were observed between ad libitum and feeding frequency groups from 28 to 69 D of age. Carcass traits and gastrointestinal development were not affected (P > 0.05) by feeding frequency. In experiment 2, the apparent nutrient digestibility in geese from 71 to 77 D of age fed using different feeding frequencies was determined using the total fecal collection method. Feeding frequency did not affect (P > 0.05) the apparent digestibility of DM, CP, crude ash, calcium, phosphorous, or ether extract in geese. Our study demonstrates for the first time that compensatory growth can be gained by enhancing feed intake when a lower feeding frequency is imposed on geese. Both ad libitum feeding and fixed feeding frequency for 3 to 5 times daily are suitable for geese from 28 to 70 D of age to achieve optimum production.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The phosphatase and tensin homologue deleted on chromosome ten (PTEN) acts as a tumor suppressor gene by inhibiting the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase B (PI3K/AKT) signaling pathway. DJ-1, a negative regulator of PTEN, is associated with the pathogenesis of a variety of tumors. Curcumin (Cur) is a phenolic compound that is extracted from various plant rhizomes with various anti-tumor pharmacological effects. This study aimed to investigate the effects of Cur on proliferation and apoptosis of colorectal cancer cells. MATERIALS AND METHODS Human normal colorectal epithelial cell line (NCM460) and colorectal cancer cell line (SW480 and SW620) were cultured in vitro. Real-time quantitative PCR (RT-PCR) and western blot were used to detect DJ-1 and PTEN mRNA and protein, respectively. Cell apoptosis was determined with flow cytometry. SW480 cells were divided into control, 20 μM Cur treatment group, Cur+pcDNA3.1-Blank group and Cur+pcDNA3.1-DJ-1 group. Cell proliferation activity was evaluated with EdU staining. RESULTS Comparing with NCM460 cells, DJ-1 was significantly increased, while PTEN was significantly declined in SW480 and SW620 cells (p<0.05). Cur treatment significantly inhibited SW480 and SW620 cell proliferation and significantly induced apoptosis compared to control group (p<0.05) but showed no significant effects on NCM460 cells. Cur down-regulated DJ-1 level and enhanced PTEN expressions in SW480 cells with dose dependence. The pcDNA3.1-DJ-1 transfection significantly declined PTEN expression, enhanced p-AKT levels, reduced cell apoptosis, and strengthened cell proliferation in SW480 cells treated by Cur (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS Cur can inhibit colorectal cancer cell proliferation and promote apoptosis by down-regulating DJ-1 expression to regulate the activity of PTEN/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

Abstract
To explore the effects of supplementing a basal diet with green sweet sorghum stalks on the gut microbiota in geese, one hundred and twenty 28 day old geese were divided into two groups. Group 1 was fed a basal diet and group 2 was fed 92% of the same basal diet with green sweet sorghum stalks ad libitum for 42 days. Three male geese from each group were killed at 70 days old, four gastrointestinal tract segments (duodenum, jejunum, ileum, and caecum) were collected, and the hypervariable V4 region of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene was sequenced. There were obvious changes of microbiome in the caecum compared with the other three intestinal segments after green sweet sorghum stalks were added to the diet. Group 2 had significantly higher alpha diversity in the caecum compared with group 1 (P <0.05). The phyla of bacterial communities in the caecum differed. Group 2 had more abundant Bacteroidetes and Firmicutes, but Proteobacteria were more abundant in group 1. At genus level, Bacteroides was more prevalent in group 2, as were Prevotella and YRC22 (P <0.05). Functional analysis revealed that the carbohydrate metabolism, membrane transport, endocrine system and digestive system metabolic pathways were overrepresented in group 2. In conclusion, caecal microbes might play an important role in digesting green sweet sorghum stalks in geese. Keywords: caecum, goose, microbiome, microbial diversity

Abstract
Recent reports have revealed diverse and abundant fungal communities in the deep-sea biosphere, while their composition, distribution, and variations in seamount zones are poorly understood. Using a metabarcoding approach targeting the ITS2 regions, we present the structure of the fungal community in 18 sediment samples from the Magellan seamount area of the northwest Pacific. A total of 1,979 fungal OTUs was obtained, which were taxonomically assigned to seven phyla, 17 classes, 43 orders, 7 families, and 98 genera. The majority of these OTUs were affiliated to Basidiomycota (873 OTUs, 44.11% of total OTUs) and Ascomycota (486 OTUs, 24.56% of total OTUs), followed by other five minor phyla (Mortierellomycota, Chytridiomycota, Mucoromycota, Glomeromycota, and Monoblepharidomycota). Sordriomycetes is the most abundant class, followed by Eurotiomycetes, and Dothideomycetes. Five genera were common in most of the samples, including worldwide reported genera Aspergillus, Cladosporium, Fusarium, Chaetomium, and Penicillium. The environmental data we collected (sampling depth, sampling location latitude and longitude, organic carbon content, and organic nitrogen content in the sediment) had no significant influence on the composition and distribution of fungal communities. Our findings provide valuable information for understanding the distribution and potential ecological functions of fungi in the deep-sea sediments of the Magellan seamounts.

Abstract
In order to increase the blood supply of anastomosis, surgeons choose to preserve the left colon artery (LCA) during the laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer. However, surgeons are always ailed by hemorrhage and incompletely dissection of No. 253 lymph nodes. One reason is the shortage of understanding the relationship between inferior mesenteric artery (IMA), LCA, and inferior mesenteric vein before surgery. Another reason is that surgeon always remove the lymph nodes around LCA, while don't normatively resect No. 253 lymph nodes, which affect the overall survival rate. Therefore, the "medial-to-lateral approach" for laparoscopic preservation with LCA radical resection in rectal cancer was suggested in this article. The CT technique could be used to analyze the IMA classification, which contribuated to the standard conservation of LCA. Laparoscopic radical resection of rectal cancer could be completed of high quality, through accurate definition and exactly dissection of the No. 235 lymph nodes.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES This study explored the factors influencing health behaviours during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak in China. The impact of perceived stress and positive perception of interventions on health behaviours in China were assessed using the extended information-motivation-behaviour skills (IMB) model. STUDY DESIGN Cross-sectional survey. METHODS The Questionstar online survey tool was used to construct a structured questionnaire based on the IMB model. Between 14 and 22 February 2020, during the peak of COVID-19 epidemic in China, 2449 participants were recruited by snowball sampling on WeChat and Tencent QQ social media platforms in China. Data were collected through an online questionnaire, and structural equation modelling was performed to evaluate the extended IMB model. RESULTS Health behaviours were assessed using a scoring system (total score range: 8-40); the average health behaviour score in this study was 34.62 ± 4.44. The term 'health risk stress' refers to the impact that perceived stress has on health, and this was experienced by 39.9% of participants. Only 35.9% of participants answered all seven questions on COVID-19 information correctly. The final model showed that information, motivation, behavioural skills, heath risk stress and positive perception of interventions had significant direct effects on health behaviours. Health behaviours were positively associated with the positive perception of interventions but negatively associated with health risk stress. Behavioural skills had the greatest impact on health behaviours. CONCLUSIONS In the face of public health emergencies, the extended IMB model has been used as a theoretical framework to construct more effective interventions. The government should pay attention to publicity and guidance, strengthen positive interactions with the public and disclose relevant information in a timely manner to gain trust and to maintain the positive public perception of the interventions. In terms of health education, the government should focus on behavioural skills, promptly rectify ineffective prevention information and raise awareness about the disease to relieve stress and anxiety in the population.

Abstract
An angular analysis of the B^{0}→K^{*0}(→K^{+}π^{-})μ^{+}μ^{-} decay is presented using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb^{-1} of pp collision data collected with the LHCb experiment. The full set of CP-averaged observables are determined in bins of the invariant mass squared of the dimuon system. Contamination from decays with the K^{+}π^{-} system in an S-wave configuration is taken into account. The tension seen between the previous LHCb results and the standard model predictions persists with the new data. The precise value of the significance of this tension depends on the choice of theory nuisance parameters.

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the fertility needs and outcome of pregnancy in patients with young breast cancer in China. Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional investigation was conducted on 374 young breast cancer women from Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Young patients with breast cancer were defined as patients who got initial diagnosis of breast cancer at age no more than 40 years old. We conducted a questionnaire survey and collected clinical data from medical chart. Logistic regression model was used to analyze the possible factors influencing patients' fertility intention. Results: 308 young women with breast cancer completed questionnaires, and the response rate was 82.4%. 81 patients (26.3%) had fertility needs after diagnosis. Of them, 6 cases took active measures to preserve fertility. 72 patients (23.4%) received fertility counseling during treatment. 7 patients were successfully pregnant, including four cases who delivered normally. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that patients under 35 years old (OR=4.81), bachelor degree or above (OR=3.26), receiving breast-conserving surgery (OR=2.15) and childless patients (OR=3.03) were more likely to have fertility needs after diagnosis of breast cancer (all P<0.05). Conclusions: The fertility needs of young breast cancer women in China are gradually increasing. Healthcare providers associated with tumor patients should actively offer corresponding fertility consultation and individualized diagnosis and therapy plans for patients with fertility needs.

Abstract
Objectives To investigate the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of paediatric patients with coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19). Methods Paediatric patients diagnosed with COVID-19 between January 15 and March 15, 2020, from seven hospitals in Zhejiang Province, China, were collected retrospectively and analysed. Results Thirty-two children with COVID-19, ranging in age from 3 months to 18 years, were enrolled. Family aggregation occurred in 87.5% of infant and preschool-aged children (7/8), and also school-aged children (14/16), but in only 12.5% (1/8) of adolescents (p < 0.05, p < 0.001). Most of these patients had mild symptoms: mainly fever (20/32) followed by cough (10/32) and fatigue (4/32). The average durations of viral RNA in respiratory samples and gastrointestinal samples were 15.8 d and 28.9 d, respectively. Detox duration in faeces decreased with age: 39.8 d, 27.5 d and 20.4 d in infants and preschool children, school children, and adolescents respectively (p0–6, –18 <0.01, p0–6, –14 <0.05). Pneumonia was found in 14 children, but there was no statistical significance in the incidence of pneumonia between different age groups. Thirty patients were treated with antiviral drugs, and all patients were stable and gradually improved after admission. Conclusions Most children with COVID-19 had a mild process and a good prognosis. More attention should be paid to investigation of household contact history in the diagnosis of COVID-19 in young children. Viral RNA lasts longer in the gastrointestinal system than in the respiratory tract, especially in younger children.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Despite the growing interest in the effects of neighborhood environments on cognitive function, most studies on older people are based on cross-sectional survey data from developed countries. This study examines the relationship between neighborhood environments and decline in cognitive function over time among middle-aged and older people in China and whether this relationship varies between rural and urban residents. METHODS The three waves of China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS 2011-2015) were used. The sample included 12,131 respondents living in 298 rural villages and 4,059 respondents living in 150 urban communities. Three-level linear growth curve models were estimated to track trajectories of cognitive change over a 4-year period. RESULTS Chinese older people who lived in neighborhoods with more handicap access, more bus lines, employment service, and higher socioeconomic status (SES) had slower cognitive decline. Neighborhood basic infrastructures, number of days that roads were unpassable, outdoor exercise facilities, and average social activity participation were associated with baseline cognitive function in both rural and urban areas, but neighborhood environments had more impact on cognitive decline among rural older adults than urban older adults. DISCUSSIONS Findings from this study call for increased infrastructure development and community building programs in rural China.

Abstract
AIMS A real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) assay was established to quantify the inoculum densities in the air and rainwater for six canker-causing pathogen groups in prune and walnut orchards in California. METHODS AND RESULTS The previously published DNA primers to target six pathogen groups including Botryosphaeria dothidea, Cytospora spp., Diplodia spp., Lasiodiplodia spp., Neofusicoccum spp. and Phomopsis spp. were used in a qPCR assay. Air samples from Burkard spore traps and rain samples from special rain collector devices were collected periodically from various prune and walnut orchards. Using the qPCR approach, we were able to quantify the concentrations of these pathogen groups in rainwater and air samples and study the dynamics of pathogen inoculum in orchards showing severe canker potential. Phomopsis spp. and Diplodia spp. were not found in all rain samples in prune orchards, although they were detected in the 2016 in the walnut orchard. The other four pathogen groups were quantified at varying concentrations in the prune and walnut orchards. Cytospora spp. in some cases showed higher concentrations in the rainwater in prune orchards. CONCLUSIONS The rainy season during winter and early spring is a highly risky period of time for infection by the pathogens when the inoculum of these pathogens can easily spread by air and rain water, thus serving as an important inoculum source for disease initiation. The different studied pathogen groups showed different concentrations during the growing season, indicating the complexity of the components of canker-causing species in various tree crops. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY This study showed the applicability of the qPCR assay in the quantification of inoculum in tree orchards to help reveal the mechanisms of canker disease epidemics and to help design disease management strategies.

Abstract
Psoriasis is characterized by excessive growth and aberrant differentiation of epidermal keratinocytes due to persistent inflammation. However, the underlying mechanism that triggers immune activation in psoriasis is not clear. In this study, we explored excessive DNA as a potential trigger of psoriasis using cultured human keratinocytes and psoriatic skin tissues. We demonstrated that human genomic DNA fragments induced tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-α expression, hyperproliferation and over-expression of heparin-binding epidermal-like growth factor (HB-EGF) and transforming growth factor (TGF)-α, accompanied by defective expression of keratins 1 and 10 in cultured normal human epidermal keratinocytes, which have a similar phenotype to that of keratinocytes in psoriatic skin lesions. In psoriatic lesions, we found high levels of double-stranded (ds)DNA fragments, accompanying keratinocytes expressing Ki-67, HB-EGF and TNF-α. In addition, we showed that 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3 inhibited genomic DNA fragment-induced TNFA and interleukin-1β (IFNB) expression in human keratinocytes, and an intact function of cathelicidin anti-microbial peptide (CAMP) was required for this effect. These results suggest that excessive dsDNA fragments probably act as a risk factor for immune activation in psoriasis, and the active form of vitamin D can prevent genomic DNA-mediated skin inflammation via CAMP.

Abstract
The Λ_{c}^{+}K^{-} mass spectrum is studied with a data sample of pp collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.6 fb^{-1} collected by the LHCb experiment. Three Ξ_{c}^{0} states are observed with a large significance and their masses and natural widths are measured to be m[Ξ_{c}(2923)^{0}]=2923.04±0.25±0.20±0.14 MeV, Γ[Ξ_{c}(2923)^{0}]=7.1±0.8±1.8 MeV, m[Ξ_{c}(2939)^{0}]=2938.55±0.21±0.17±0.14 MeV, Γ[Ξ_{c}(2939)^{0}]=10.2±0.8±1.1 MeV, m[Ξ_{c}(2965)^{0}]=2964.88±0.26±0.14±0.14 MeV, Γ[Ξ_{c}(2965)^{0}]=14.1±0.9±1.3 MeV, where the uncertainties are statistical, systematic, and due to the limited knowledge of the Λ_{c}^{+} mass. The Ξ_{c}(2923)^{0} and Ξ_{c}(2939)^{0} baryons are new states. The Ξ_{c}(2965)^{0} state is in the vicinity of the known Ξ_{c}(2970)^{0} baryon; however, their masses and natural widths differ significantly.
