Abstract
A three-component reaction of N, N-disubstituted aniline, α-diazo ester, and an allylic electrophile has been realized by [Rh(II)]2 /Xantphos catalysis, providing a direct access to various aniline derivatives bearing diaryl allylic quaternary centers in good yields. The synthetic utility of this protocol was demonstrated by facile derivatization of the products for preparation of biologically relevant molecules and structural scaffolds, which offers a high potential for increasing the molecular diversity. Mechanistic studies identified α, α-diarylacetate species as an active intermediate, thereby revealing the presence of a C(sp2 )-H functionalization of aniline derivatives/allylic alkylation cascade in this attractive catalytic transformation.

Abstract
Direct alkylation of the C-H bond arenes in a selective manner is a long-standing challenge. Herein, a metal-free photocatalytic regioselective C-H alkylation method for electron-rich arenes with both activated and unactivated alkenes was developed. The reaction tolerates a wide range of aromatic rings with diverse substitution patterns, as well as terminal and internal alkenes, providing a general and straightforward metal-free method for C-C bond formation from inert C-H bonds. Moreover, alkynes are also compatible to give the C-H vinylation of electron-rich arenes.

Abstract
Herein we describe a multiple C-H functionalization reaction of carbazole heterocycles with diazoalkanes. We show that gold catalysts play a distinct role in enabling a multiple C-H functionalization reaction to introduce up to six carbene fragments onto molecules containing multiple carbazole units or to link multiple carbazole units into a single molecule. A one-pot stepwise approach enables the introduction of two different carbene fragments to allow orthogonal deprotection and straightforward derivatization.

Abstract
Biaryl compounds are extremely important structural motifs in natural products, biologically active components and pharmaceuticals. Selective synthesis of biaryls by distinguishing the subtle reactivity difference of distal arene C-H bonds are significantly challenging. Herein, we describe para-selective C-H arylation, which is acheived by a unique combination of a meta-directing group and norbornene as a transient mediator. Upon direct meta-C-H palladation, one-bond relay palladation occurs in presence of norbornene and subsequently para-C-H arylation is achieved for sulfonates, phosphonates and phenols bearing 2,6-disubstitution patterns. The protocol is amenable to electron-deficient aryl iodides. Multisubstituted arenes and phenols are obtained by postsynthetic modification of the products. The protocol allows the synthesis of hexa-substituted benzene by sequential selective distal C-H functionalization.

Abstract
This work reports a dual gold-catalyzed tetradehydro-Diels-Alder reaction for the synthesis of nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocycles. Under the catalytic system (IPrAuNTf2 /DIPEA), indolines and carbazoles as well as other N-containing aromatic heterocycles were prepared in high yields with good functional group tolerance. Unlike the traditional thermal tetradehydro-Diels-Alder reactions, diluted reaction concentration and radical prohibitors are not required for this protocol. Experimental data support a mechanism involving gold vinylidene species, which undergoes a 6 π electrocyclization, followed with 1,2-hydrogen shift.

Abstract
A practical and highly para-selective C-H difluoromethylation of aromatic ketones has been developed by employing tetrakis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(0) as the catalyst and triphenylphosphine as the ligand. In addition to general aromatic ketones, this transformation was compatible with bioactive compounds and well-known drugs, such as oxybenzone, ketoprofen, zaltoprofen, and propafenone. Moreover, a mechanistic study revealed that a palladium intermediate coordinated by a carbonyl group promotes highly para-selective difluoromethylation.

Abstract
A highly para-selective CAr -H difluoromethylation of ketoxime ethers under ruthenium catalysis has been developed. A wide variety of ketoxime ethers are compatible with the reaction, which leads to the corresponding para-difluoromethylated products in moderate to good yield. A mechanistic study clearly showed that chelation-assisted cycloruthenation is the key factor in the para selectivity of the difluoromethylation of ketoxime ethers. Density functional theory was used to gain a theoretical understanding of the para selectivity.

Abstract
A rhodium(II)-catalyzed reaction of newly prepared 4-acyl-1-sulfonyl-1,2,3-triazoles with benzene, and its derivatives, is investigated. Acceptor/acceptor carbenoids generated from 4-acyltriazoles undergo selective insertion at aromatic C(sp2 )-H bonds in the presence of benzylic C(sp3 )-H bonds to produce N-sulfonylenaminones.

Abstract
An efficient ferrocene-derived bifunctional phosphine-catalyzed enantioselective oxa-[4+2] cycloaddition of α-substituted allenones with a broad range of enones is investigated for the preparation of stereodefined dihydropyrans in good to excellent yields (up to 99 %) and excellent enantioselectivity (up to 99 % ee). Furthermore, a series of valuable chiral polyheterocyclic frameworks can be efficiently achieved in good yields with excellent enantioselectivities.
