Abstract
First examples of diborane(6) dianions decorated with weakly coordination B(C6F5)3 (BCF) groups and SiEt3 + moieties have been synthesized demonstrating the synthetic potential of the [B2(CN)6]2- dianion. [B2{CNB(C6F5)3}6]2- (1) was isolated as potassium and tetrabutylammonium salt. 1 is a rare example for a weakly coordinating dianion and it was used for the stabilization of the carbocation [Ph3C]+ and the oxonium acid [H(OEt2)2]+. Reaction of [Ph3C]21 with HSiEt3 resulted in the silylated neutral diborane(6) [B2{CNB(C6F5)3}4(CNSiEt3)2] (2) in which two BCF groups have been selectively replaced by SiEt3 + substituents, underscoring the stability and chemical versatility of the [B2(CN)6]2- dianion. The chemical properties and physicochemical data of 1 and 2 provide insight into electronic, coordinating, and steric properties of theses novel diborane(6) compounds.

Abstract
A series of unprecedently air‐stable (tricyanoboryl)plumbate anions was obtained by the reaction of the boron‐centered nucleophile B(CN)32− with triorganyllead halides. Salts of the anions [R3PbB(CN)3]− (R=Ph, Et) were isolated and found to be stable in air at room temperature. In the case of Me3PbHal (Hal=Cl, Br), a mixture of the anions [Me4−nPb{B(CN)3}n]n− (n=1, 2) was obtained. The [Et3PbB(CN)3]− ion undergoes stepwise dismutation in aqueous solution to yield the plumbate anions [Et4−nPb{B(CN)3}n]n− (n=1–4) and PbEt4 as by‐product. The reaction rate increases with decreasing pH value of the aqueous solution or by bubbling O2 through the reaction mixture. Adjustment of the conditions allowed the selective formation and isolation of salts of all anions of the series [Et4−nPb{B(CN)3}n]n− (n=2–4) including the homoleptic tetraanion [Pb{B(CN)3}4]4−.

Abstract
The parent borylene (CAAC)(Me3P)BH, 1 (CAAC=cyclic alkyl(amino)carbene), acts both as a Lewis base and one‐electron reducing agent towards group 13 trichlorides (ECl3, E=B, Al, Ga, In), yielding the adducts 1‐ECl3 and increasing proportions of the radical cation [1]•+ for the heavier group 13 analogues. With boron trihalides (BX3, X=F, Cl, Br, I) 1 undergoes sequential adduct formation and halide abstraction reactions to yield borylboronium cations and shows an increasing tendency towards redox processes for the heavier halides. Calculations confirm that 1 acts as a strong Lewis base towards EX3 and show a marked increase in the B−E bond dissociation energies down both group 13 and the halide group.

Abstract
Cyclic alkyl(amino)carbene-stabilized (cyano)hydroboryl anions were synthesized by deprotonation of (cyano)dihydroborane precursors. While they display boron-centered nucleophilic reactivity towards organohalides, generating fully unsymmetrically substituted cyano(hydro)organoboranes, they show cyano-nitrogen-centered nucleophilic reactivity towards haloboranes, resulting in the formation of hitherto unknown linear 2-aza-1,4-diborabutatrienes.

Abstract
A series of linear late transition metal (M=Cu, Ag, Au and Zn) complexes featuring a side-on [B=C]- containing ligand have been isolated and characterised. The [B=C]- moiety is isoelectronic with the C=C system of an alkene. Comparison across the series shows that in the solid-state, deviation between the η2 and η1 coordination mode occurs. A related zinc complex containing two [B=C]- ligands was prepared as a further point of comparison for the η1 coordination mode. The bonding in these new complexes has been interrogated by computational techniques (QTAIM, NBO, ETS-NOCV) and rationalised in terms of the Dewar-Chatt-Duncanson model. The combined structural and computational data provide unique insight into catalytically relevant linear d10 complexes of Cu, Ag and Au. Slippage is proposed to play a key role in catalytic reactions of alkenes through disruption and polarisation of the π-system. Through the preparation and analysis of a consistent series of group 11 complexes, we show that variation of the metal can impact the coordination mode and hence substrate activation.

Abstract
Reduction of (CAAC)BBr2 (NCS) (CAAC=cyclic alkyl(amino)carbene) in the presence of a Lewis base L yields tricoordinate (CAAC)LB(NCS) borylenes which undergo reversible E/Z-isomerization. The same reduction in the absence of L yields deep blue, bis(CAAC)-stabilized, boron-doped, aromatic thiazolothiazoles resulting from the dimerization of dicoordinate (CAAC)B(NCS) borylene intermediates.

Abstract
Boragermene 3 featuring a double bond between the Ge and dicoordinate B atoms has been synthesized for the first time by reacting the cyclic (alkyl)(boryl)germylene-PMe3 adduct 1 with Cl2 BN(SiMe3 )2 followed by reductive dehalogenation with KC8 . Addition of a Lewis base (Me NHC) to 3 leads to the formation of the corresponding adduct 4, which shows double bond character between the Ge and tricoordinate B atoms. Compound 3 undergoes hydrogenation with H2 concomitant with a complete scission of the Ge=B bond.

Abstract
A cyclic (alkyl)(amino)germylene undergoes a ring expansion reaction with dibromomesitylborane (MesBBr2 ) to afford a six-membered dibromogermane derivative. In the presence of Lewis bases (PMe3 or Me NHC), reduction of the latter with two equivalents of potassium graphite (KC8 ) gives rise to cyclic (alkyl)(boryl)germylene-Lewis base adducts. Upon heating, the germylene-PMe3 adduct reacts with H2 to yield a germane, probably via a base-free germylene featuring a small HOMO-LUMO gap.

Abstract
Singly NHC-coordinated (aminoboryl)aminoborenium salts react with Na2 [Fe(CO)4 ] to yield stable coordination complexes of aminoborylene-stabilized aminoborylenes, which exhibit exceptional σ-donor properties. Upon photolytic CO extrusion from the metal center, the diboron ligand adopts a novel η3 -BBN coordination mode, where bond-strengthening backdonation from the metal center into the vacant B-B π-orbital is observed. This bonding situation can be alternatively described as a Fe-diaminodiborene complex. In a related reduction of CAAC-stabilized (aminoboryl)aminoborenium with KC8 , the reduced species can be captured with nucleophiles to form three-coordinate (diaminoboryl)borylenes, where both amino groups have migrated to the distal boron atom. Collectively, these reactions illustrate the isomeric flexibility imparted by amino groups on this reduced diboron system, thus opening multiple avenues of novel reactivity.

Abstract
While the one-electron reduction of (CAACMe )BH2 Br (CAACMe =1-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)-3,3,5,5-tetramethylpyrrolidin-2-ylidene) yields a hydride-shift isomer of the corresponding tetrahydrodiborane, a further reversible reduction leads to the first stable parent boryl anion, [(CAACMe )BH2 ]- , which acts as a powerful boron nucleophile.

Abstract
A family of doubly isonitrile-stabilized terphenyl borylenes could be obtained by addition of three equivalents of isonitrile to the corresponding Cr and W terminal terphenyl-borylene complexes. The mechanism of isonitrile- and carbon-monoxide-induced borylene liberation was investigated computationally and found to be significantly exergonic in both cases. Furthermore, addition of a small N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) to a terminal Cr borylene complex results in release of an NHC-stabilized borylene carbonyl species, whereas the analogous reaction with bulkier phosphines results in metal-centered substitution.

Abstract
The borylene-carbonyl moiety in [bis(silylene)B(CO)][WBr(CO)5 ] shows diverse reactivity. Reduction, migration, and complete cleavage of CO have been observed at the boron center, leading to the formation of new types of borylenes. These reactions not only serve as new methods for the synthesis of various stable borylenes, but also demonstrate that main-group-element compounds can mimic the behavior of transition-metal complexes.

Abstract
A triaminotriborane(3) was isolated as purple crystals through the reduction of (TMP)BCl2 (TMP=2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidino) by sodium naphthalenide. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction and computational studies of the obtained triaminotriborane(3) revealed a bent structure of the [B(NR2 )]3 chain. The bond lengths between the central and terminal boron atoms were similar to those observed in neutral diborene species. The multiple-bonding character may be best described by a three-center two-electron π-bond along the B3 chain. The distance between the two terminal boron atoms (2.177 Å) in the solid-state structure implies a weak interaction between them. When an excess amount of Li was used as the reducing agent, the reaction yielded an unusual dianionic species. The isolation and characterization of these two reduction products are reported herein.

Abstract
The reaction of [(cAACMe)BH3] (cAACMe = 1-(2,6-iPr2C6H3)-3,3,5,5-tetramethylpyrrolidin-2-ylidene) with a range of organolithium compounds led to the exclusive formation of the corresponding (dihydro)organoborates, Li+[(cAACMeH)BH2R]- (R = sp3-, sp2-, or sp-hybridised organic substituent), by migration of one boron-bound hydrogen atom to the adjacent carbene carbon of the cAAC ligand. A subsequent deprotonation/salt metathesis reaction with Me3SiCl or spontaneous LiH elimination yielded the neutral cAAC-supported mono(organo)boranes, [(cAACMe)BH2R]. Similarly the reaction of [(cAACMe)BH3] with a neutral donor base L resulted in adduct formation by shuttling one boron-bound hydrogen to the cAAC ligand, to generate [(cAACMeH)BH2L], either irreversibly (L = cAACMe) or reversibly (L = pyridine). Variable-temperature NMR data and DFT calculations on [(cAACMeH)BH2(cAACMe)] show that the hydrogen on the former carbene carbon atom exchanges rapidly with the boron-bound hydrides.
