Abstract
Mycotoxins, which are secondary metabolites produced by toxicogenic fungi, are natural food toxins that cause acute and chronic adverse reactions in humans and animals. The genus Fusarium is one of three major genera of mycotoxin-producing fungi. Trichothecenes, fumonisins, and zearalenone are the major Fusarium mycotoxins that occur worldwide. Fusarium mycotoxins have the potential to infiltrate the human food chain via contamination during crop production and food processing, eventually threatening human health. The occurrence and development of Fusarium mycotoxin contamination will change with climate change, especially with variations in temperature, precipitation, and carbon dioxide concentration. To address these challenges, researchers have built a series of effective models to forecast the occurrence of Fusarium mycotoxins and provide guidance for crop production. Fusarium mycotoxins frequently exist in food products at extremely low levels, thus necessitating the development of highly sensitive and reliable detection techniques. Numerous successful detection methods have been developed to meet the requirements of various situations, and an increasing number of methods are moving toward high-throughput features. Although Fusarium mycotoxins cannot be completely eliminated, numerous agronomic, chemical, physical, and biological methods can lower Fusarium mycotoxin contamination to safe levels during the preharvest and postharvest stages. These theoretical innovations and technological advances have the potential to facilitate the development of comprehensive strategies for effectively managing Fusarium mycotoxin contamination in the future.

Abstract
Occurrence of mycotoxins in food samples threat to its safety issue due to the presence of high toxicity and carcinogenic behavior, thus requiring highly sensitive and selective detection. Herein, the trimanganese tetraoxide (Mn3O4) nanoparticles in combination with graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposite were used to enhance the electrochemical performance for fabrication of electrochemical biosensor for fumonisin B1 (FB1) detection. The various characterization tools were used to validate the fabrication of GOMn3O4nanocomposites. To fabricate the electrochemical biosensor on an indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrate, a thin film of GOMn3O4nanocomposite was prepared using electrophoretic deposition technique, and antibodies (ab-FB1) were immobilized onto the electrode for selective FB1 detection. The differential pulse voltammetry technique was used to observe the sensing performance. The non-binding sites of the ab-FB1 on the immunoelectrode were blocked with bovine serum albumin (BSA). The biosensor electrode was fabricated as BSA/ab-FB1/GOMn3O4/ITO for the detection of FB1. The sensitivity of the biosensor was obtained as 10.08μA ml ng-1cm-2in the detection range of 1 pg ml-1to 800 ng ml-1with a limit of detection of 0.195 pg ml-1. In addition, the recovery of BSA/ab-FB1/GOMn3O4/ITO immunoelectrodes was also performed on sweet corn samples and is calculated to be 98.91%.

Abstract
Electrochemical immunosensors have shown great potential in clinical diagnosis, food safety, environmental protection, and other fields. The feasible and innovative combination of enzyme catalysis and other signal-amplified elements has yielded exciting progress in the development of electrochemical immunosensors. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is one of the most popularly used enzyme reporters in bioassays. It has been widely utilized to design electrochemical immunosensors owing to its significant advantages (e.g., high catalytic activity, high turnover number, and excellent substrate specificity). In this work, we summarized the achievements of electrochemical immunosensors with ALP as the signal reporter. We mainly focused on detection principles and signal amplification strategies and briefly discussed the challenges regarding how to further improve the performance of ALP-based immunoassays.

Abstract
Mycotoxins are naturally occurring toxic secondary metabolites produced by fungi in cereals and foodstuffs during the stages of cultivation and storage. Electrochemical biosensing has emerged as a rapid, efficient, and economical approach for the detection and quantification of mycotoxins in different sample media. An electrochemical biosensor consists of two main units, a recognition receptor and a signal transducer. Natural or artificial antibodies, aptamers, molecularly imprinted polymers (MIP), peptides, and DNAzymes have been extensively employed as selective recognition receptors for the electrochemical biosensing of mycotoxins. This article affords a detailed discussion of the recent advances and future prospects of various types of recognition receptors exploited in the electrochemical biosensing of mycotoxins.

Abstract
Mycotoxin contamination in foods and other goods has become a broad issue owing to serious toxicity, tremendous threat to public safety, and terrible loss of resources. Herein, it is necessary to develop simple, sensitive, inexpensive, and rapid platforms for the detection of mycotoxins. Currently, the limitation of instrumental and chemical methods cannot be massively applied in practice. Immunoassays are considered one of the best candidates for toxin detection due to their simplicity, rapidness, and cost-effectiveness. Especially, the field of dual-mode immunosensors and corresponding assays is rapidly developing as an advanced and intersected technology. So, this review summarized the types and detection principles of single-mode immunosensors including optical and electrical immunosensors in recent years, then focused on developing dual-mode immunosensors including integrated immunosensors and combined immunosensors to detect mycotoxins, as well as the combination of dual-mode immunosensors with a portable device for point-of-care test. The remaining challenges were discussed with the aim of stimulating future development of dual-mode immunosensors to accelerate the transformation of scientific laboratory technologies into easy-to-operate and rapid detection platforms.

Abstract
Pesticide and mycotoxin residues in food are concerning as they are harmful to human health. Traditional methods, such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for such detection lack sensitivity and operation convenience. Efficient, accurate detection approaches are needed. With the recent development of nanotechnology, electrochemical biosensors based on nanomaterials have shown solid ability to detect trace pesticides and mycotoxins quickly and accurately. In this review, English articles about electrochemical biosensors in the past 11 years (2011-2022) were collected from PubMed database, and various nanomaterials are discussed, including noble metal nanomaterials, magnetic metal nanoparticles, metal-organic frameworks, carbon nanotubes, as well as graphene and its derivatives. Three main roles of such nanomaterials in the detection process are summarized, including biomolecule immobilization, signal generation, and signal amplification. The detection targets involve two types of pesticides (organophosphorus and carbamate) and six types of mycotoxins (aflatoxin, deoxynivalenol, zearalenone, fumonisin, ochratoxin A, and patulin). Although significant achievements have been made in the evolution of electrochemical nano-biosensors, many challenges remain to be overcome.

Abstract
A new aptasensor for detecting fumonisin B1 (FB1) in the maize samples was developed based on DNA- aptamer recognition and electrochemical technique. A thiol-modified single-stranded DNA (ss-HSDNA) was immobilized on a screen printed carbon electrode (SPCE) electrodeposited by gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The morphology and structure of SPCE and AuNPs/SPCE were evaluated via scanning electron microscopy (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The SEM results demonstrated that the SPCE had a flat sheet-like structure, and the AuNPs were homogeneously electrodeposited on the SPCE. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) experiments in the [Fe(CN)6]- 3/- 4 solution were conducted to investigate each step of electrode modification as well as aptasensor performance. Aptamer-FB1 interaction prevented the electron transfer permitting the determination of FB1 in the range of 0.5-500 ng/mL with a low detection limit (0.14 ng/mL). The designed aptasensor was also shown high selectivity, acceptable repeatability and reproducibility, good long-term stability, and excellent recovery. Furthermore, there was a strong correlation between the findings achieved via the designed aptasensor and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Therefore, a simple construction process and satisfactory electrochemical performance of the proposed aptasensor have a great potential for the detection of FB1 in maize samples.

Abstract
Mycotoxin contamination has become a challenge in the field of food safety testing, given the increasing emphasis on food safety in recent years. Mycotoxins are widely distributed, in heavily polluted areas. Food contamination with these toxins is difficult to prevent and control. Mycotoxins, as are small-molecule toxic metabolites produced by several species belonging to the genera Aspergillus, Fusarium, and Penicillium growing in food. They are considered teratogenic, carcinogenic, and mutagenic to humans and animals. Food systems are often simultaneously contaminated with multiple mycotoxins. Due to the additive or synergistic toxicological effects caused by the co-existence of multiple mycotoxins, their individual detection requires reliable, accurate, and high-throughput techniques. Currently available, methods for the detection of multiple mycotoxins are mainly based on chromatography, spectroscopy (colorimetry, fluorescence, and surface-enhanced Raman scattering), and electrochemistry. This review provides a comprehensive overview of advances in the multiple detection methods of mycotoxins during the recent 5 years. The principles and features of these techniques are described. The practical applications and challenges associated with assays for multiple detection methods of mycotoxins are summarized. The potential for future development and application is discussed in an effort, to provide standards of references for further research.

Abstract
Remarkable advancements have been achieved in the development of rapid analytic techniques toward fumonisin B1 (FB1) monitoring and even trace levels for food safety in recent years. However, the point-of-care testing for quantitative and accurate FB1 determination is still challenging. Herein, an innovative aptasensor was established to monitor FB1 by utilizing graphene oxide (GO) and nuclease-triggered signal enhancement. GO can be utilized as a fluorescence quenching agent toward a fluorophore-modified aptamer, and even as a protectant of the aptamer from nuclease cleavage for subsequent target cycling and signal amplification detection. This proposed sensing strategy exhibited a good linearity for FB1 determination in the dynamic range from 0.5 to 20 ng mL−1 with a good correlation of R2 = 0.995. Its limit of detection was established at 0.15 ng mL−1 (S/N = 3), which was significantly lower than the legal requirements by three orders of magnitude. The interferent study demonstrated that the introduced aptasensor possessed high selectivity for FB1. Moreover, the aptasensor was successfully applied to the detection of wheat flour samples, and the results were consistent with the classical ELISA method. The rapid response, sensitive and selective analysis, and reliable results of this sensing platform offer a promising opportunity for food mycotoxin control in point-of-care testing.

Abstract
Mycotoxins, which are toxic secondary metabolites produced by fungi, are harmful to humans. Mycotoxin-induced contamination has drawn attention worldwide. Consequently, the development of reliable and sensitive detection methods and high-efficiency control strategies for mycotoxins is important to safeguard food industry safety and public health. With the rapid development of nanotechnology, many novel nanomaterials that provide tremendous opportunities for greatly improving the detection and control performance of mycotoxins because of their unique properties have emerged. This review comprehensively summarizes recent trends in the application of nanomaterials for detecting mycotoxins (fluorescence, colorimetric, surface-enhanced Raman scattering, electrochemical, and point-of-care testing) and controlling mycotoxins (inhibition of fungal growth, mycotoxin absorption, and degradation). These detection methods possess the advantages of high sensitivity and selectivity, operational simplicity, and rapidity. With research attention on the control of mycotoxins and the gradual excavation of the properties of nanomaterials, nanomaterials are also employed for the inhibition of fungal growth, mycotoxin absorption, and mycotoxin degradation, and impressive controlling effects are obtained. This review is expected to provide the readers insight into this state-of-the-art area and a reference to design nanomaterials-based schemes for the detection and control of mycotoxins.

Abstract
The detection of pathogenic bacteria using biosensing techniques could be a potential alternative to traditional culture based methods. However, the low specificity and sensitivity of conventional biosensors, critically related to the choice of bio-recognition elements, limit their practical applicability. Mammalian antibodies have been widely investigated as biorecognition ligands due to high specificity and technological advancement in antibody production. However, antibody-based biosensors are not considered as an efficient approach due to the batch-to-batch inconsistencies as well as low stability. In recent years, antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have been increasingly investigated as ligands as they have demonstrated high stability and possessed multiple sites for capturing bacteria. The conjugation of chemo-selective groups with AMPs has allowed effective immobilization of peptides on biosensor surface. However, the specificity of AMPs is a major concern for consideration as an efficient ligand. In this article, we have reviewed the advances and concerns, particularly the selectivity of AMPs for specific detection of pathogenic bacteria. This review also focuses the state-of-the-art mechanisms, challenges and prospects for designing potential AMP conjugated biosensors. The application of AMP in different biosensing transducers such as electrochemical, optical and piezoelectric varieties has been widely discussed. We argue that this review would provide insights to design and construct AMP conjugated biosensors for the pathogenic bacteria detection.

Abstract
Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites produced by fungus. Many mycotoxin species are highly toxic and are frequently found in cereals and feedstuffs. So, powerful detection methods are vital and effective ways to prevent feed contamination. Traditional detection methods can no longer meet the needs of massive, real-time, simple, and fast mycotoxin monitoring. Rapid detection methods based on advanced material and sensor technology are the future trend. In this review, we highlight recent progress of mycotoxin rapid detection strategies in feedstuffs and foods, especially for simultaneous multiplex mycotoxin determination. Immunoassays, biosensors, and the prominent roles of nanomaterials are introduced. The principles of different types of recognition and signal transduction are explained, and the merits and pitfalls of these methods are compared. Furthermore, limitations and challenges of existing rapid sensing strategies and perspectives of future research are discussed.

Abstract
Fumonisins (FBs) can be found extensively in feedstuffs, foodstuffs, and crops. The consumption of the fumonisin-contaminated corn can result in esophageal cancer. In addition, the secondary metabolites of fungi termed mycotoxins may have some adverse effects on animals and humans such as estrogenicity, immunotoxicity, teratogenicity, mutagenicity, and carcinogenicity. Hence, developing sensitivity techniques for mycotoxins determination is of great importance. This paper reports the latest developments of nanomaterial-based electrochemical biosensing, apta-sensing, sensing, and immunosensing analyses to detect fumonisins. A concise study of the occurrence, legislations, toxicity, and distribution of FBs in levels monitoring was done. The techniques, different detection matrices, and approaches to highly selective and sensitive sensing methods were reviewed. The review also summarizes the salient features and the necessity of biosensing assessments in FBs detection, and diverse immobilization techniques. Furthermore, this review defined the performance of various electrochemical sensors using different detection elements couples with nanomaterials fabricated applying different detection elements coupled with nanomaterials (metal oxide nanoparticles (NPs), metal NPs, CNT, and graphene), the factors limiting progress, and the upcoming tasks in successful aptasensor fabrication with the functionalized nanomaterials.

Abstract
Mycotoxin contamination is a current issue affecting several crops and processed products worldwide. Among the diverse mycotoxin group, fumonisin B1 (FB1) has become a relevant compound because of its adverse effects in the food chain. Conventional analytical methods previously proposed to quantify FB1 comprise LC-MS, HPLC-FLD and ELISA, while novel approaches integrate different sensing platforms and fluorescently labelled agents in combination with antibodies. Nevertheless, such methods could be expensive, time-consuming and require experience. Aptamers (ssDNA) are promising alternatives to overcome some of the drawbacks of conventional analytical methods, their high affinity through specific aptamer-target binding has been exploited in various designs attaining favorable limits of detection (LOD). So far, two aptamers specific to FB1 have been reported, and their modified and shortened sequences have been explored for a successful target quantification. In this critical review spanning the last eight years, we have conducted a systematic comparison based on principal component analysis of the aptamer-based techniques for FB1, compared with chromatographic, immunological and other analytical methods. We have also conducted an in-silico prediction of the folded structure of both aptamers under their reported conditions. The potential of aptasensors for the future development of highly sensitive FB1 testing methods is emphasized.

Abstract
This work focuses on the study of nanomaterial-based sensors for mycotoxins detection. Due to their adverse effects on humans and animals, mycotoxins are heavily regulated, and the foodstuff and feed stocks with a high probability of being contaminated are often analyzed. In this context, the recent developments in graphene-based electrochemical sensors for mycotoxins detection were examined. The mycotoxins' toxicity implications on their detection and the development of diverse recognition elements are described considering the current challenges and limitations.

Abstract
Fumonisin B1 (FB1) is the most prevalent and toxic form among fumonisin homologues which are produced by fusarium species and it contaminates various types of food products, posing serious health hazards for humans and animals. In this work, a colorimetric assay for the detection of FB1 has been developed based on competitive horseradish peroxidase (HRP)-linked aptamer and dual biotin-streptavidin interaction. In short, a biotinylated aptamer of FB1 was immobilized on the microplate by biotin-streptavidin binding; the complementary strand (csDNA) of the aptamer was ligated with HRP by biotin-streptavidin binding again to form a csDNA-HRP sensing probe, competing with FB1 to bind to the aptamer. The color change can be observed after the addition of chromogenic and stop solution, thereby realizing the visual detection of FB1. Under optimal conditions, good linearity was observed within the concentration range of 0.5 to 300 ng/mL, with a detection of limit of 0.3 ng/mL. This assay is further validated by spike recovery tests towards beer and corn samples, it provides a simple, sensitive and reliable method for the screening of FB1 in food samples and may be potentially used as an alternative to conventional assays.

Abstract
In this study, a sensitive and selective electrochemical immunosensor for cephalexin (CEX) determination on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) surface was modified by a carboxylated single-walled carbon nanotubes/chitosan (SWNTs-COOH/CS) composite. The SWNTs-COOH/CS composite was used to enhance sensor performance and to enlarge the electrochemical response of CEX. The cephalosporin-ovalbumin coupling (CEX-OVA) was synthesized using the reactive ester method. The free CEX in solution could be effectively measured based on the competitive immunoreaction between CEX-antibody and CEX. Under optimal conditions, the electrochemical immunosensor offered an excellent response for CEX. The linear range was 1-800 ng/ml, with a detection limit of 45.7 ng/ml (S/N = 3). This method was applied to determine CEX in six different samples and obtained the recovery range from 80.15% to 94.04%. These results indicated that the fabricated electrochemical immunosensor and sensing method are suitable for quantification of CEX in real samples. These have great potential for wider applications in environmental and agri-food products industries.

Abstract
In this work, using DNA and exonuclease-I (Exo-I) as signal amplification strategy, a novel and facile electrochemical aptasensor was constructed for fumonisin B1 (FB1) detection. The G-rich complementary DNA (cDNA) was immobilized onto the electrode surface. Then, aptamer of FB1 was hybridized with cDNA to form double-stranded DNA. In the absence of FB1, double-stranded DNA and G-rich cDNA on the electrode surface promoted effectively methylene blue (MB) enrichment and amplified the initial electrochemical response. In the presence of FB1, the combination of aptamer and FB1 led to the release of aptamer from the electrode surface and the expose of 3' end of single-stranded cDNA. When Exo-I was added onto the electrode surface, the single-stranded cDNA was degraded in the 3'-5' direction. The decrease of double-stranded DNA and G-rich cDNA resulted in the less access of MB to the electrode surface, which decreased the electrochemical signal. The experimental conditions including incubation time of FB1, the amount of Exo-I and incubation time of Exo-I were optimized. Under the optimal conditions, the linear relationship between the change of peak current and the logarithmic concentration of FB1 was observed in the range of 1.0 × 10-3-1000 ng mL-1 with a low limit of detection of 0.15 pg mL-1. The experimental results showed that the prepared aptasensor had acceptable specificity, reproducibility, repeatability and stability. Therefore, this proposed aptasensor has a potential application in the food safety detection.

Abstract
T-2 toxin (T-2) is one of major concern mycotoxins acknowledged as an unavoidable contaminant in human foods, animal feeds and also agriculture products. Thus, a facile and sensitive method is essential for accurate T-2 toxin detection. In our work, a specific electrochemical immunosensor based on gold nanoparticles/carboxylic group-functionalized single-walled carbon nanotubes/chitosan (AuNPs/cSWNTs/CS) composite was established. The mechanism of the electrochemical immunosensor was an indirect competitive binding to a given amount of anti-T-2 between free T-2 and T-2-bovine serum albumin, which was conjugated on covalently functionalized cSWNTs decorated on the glass carbon electrode. Afterwards, the alkaline phosphatase labeled anti-mouse secondary antibody was bound to the electrode surface by reacting with the primary antibody. Lastly, alkaline phosphatase catalyzed the hydrolysis of the substrate α-naphthyl phosphate, which produced an electrochemical signal. Compared with conventional methods, the established immunosensor was more sensitive and simpler. Under optimal conditions, this method could quantitatively detect T-2 from 0.01 to 100 μg·L-1 with a detection limit of 0.13 μg·L-1 and favorable recovery 91.42⁻102.49%. Moreover, the immunosensor was successfully applied to assay T-2 in feed and swine meat, which showed good correlation with the results obtained from liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).

Abstract
Nanomaterial-embedded sensors have been developed and applied to monitor various targets. Mycotoxins are fungal secondary metabolites that can exert carcinogenic, mutagenic, teratogenic, immunotoxic, and estrogenic effects on humans and animals. Consequently, the need for the proper regulation on foodstuff and feed materials has been recognized from times long past. This review provides an overview of recent developments in electrochemical sensors and biosensors employed for the detection of mycotoxins. Basic aspects of the toxicity of mycotoxins and the implications of their detection are comprehensively discussed. Furthermore, the development of different molecular recognition elements and nanomaterials required for the detection of mycotoxins (such as portable biosensing systems for point-of-care analysis) is described. The current capabilities, limitations, and future challenges in mycotoxin detection and analysis are also addressed.

Abstract
BACKGROUND In the present study, a novel highly sensitive magnetic enzyme chemiluminescence immunoassay (MECLIA) was developed to detect fumonisin B1 (FB1 ) in cereal samples. The gold-coated magnetic nanoparticles (Fe3 O4 @Au, GoldMag) were used as solid phase carrier to develop a competitive CLIA for detecting FB1 , in which FB1 in samples would compete with FB1 -ovalbumin coated on the surface of Fe3 O4 @Au nanoparticles for binding with FB1 antibodies. Successively, horseradish peroxidase labeled goat anti-rabbit IgG (HRP-IgG) was conjugated with FB1 antibodies on the microplate. In substrate solution containing luminol and H2 O2 , HRP-IgG catalyzed luminol oxidation by H2 O2 , generating a high chemiluminescence signal. The FB1 immune GoldMag particles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope and zeta potential analysis, etc. RESULTS: The concentrations and the reaction times of these immunoreagents were optimized to improve the performances of this method. The established method could detect as low as 0.027 ng mL-1 FB1 from 0.05 ng mL-1 to 25 ng mL-1 , demonstrating little cross-reaction (less than 2.4%) with other structurally related compounds. The average intrassay relative SD (RSD) (n = 6) was 3.4% and the average interassay RSD (n = 6) was 5.4%. This method was successfully applied for the determination of FB1 in corn and wheat and gave recoveries of between 98-110% and 91-105%, respectively. CONCLUSION The results of the present study suggest that the MECLIA approach has potential application for high-throughput fumonisin screening in cereals. © 2018 Society of Chemical Industry.

Abstract
This chapter reviews recent achievements in methods of detection of mycotoxins in food. Special focus is on the biosensor technology that utilizes antibodies and nucleic acid aptamers as receptors. Development of biosensors is based on the immobilization of antibodies or aptamers onto various conventional supports like gold layer, but also on nanomaterials such as graphene oxide, carbon nanotubes, and quantum dots that provide an effective platform for achieving high sensitivity of detection using various physical methods, including electrochemical, mass sensitive, and optical. The biosensors developed so far demonstrate high sensitivity typically in subnanomolar limit of detection. Several biosensors have been validated in real samples. The sensitivity of biosensors is similar and, in some cases, even better than traditional analytical methods such as ELISA or chromatography. We believe that future trends will be focused on improving biosensor properties toward practical application in food industry.

Abstract
The contaminations of Fusarium mycotoxins in grains and related products, and the exposure in human body are considerable concerns in food safety and human health worldwide. The common Fusarium mycotoxins include fumonisins, T-2 toxin, deoxynivalenol and zearalenone. For this reason, simple, fast and sensitive analytical techniques are particularly important for the screening and determination of Fusarium mycotoxins. In this review, we outlined the related advances in biosensors, chemosensors and assays based on the classical and novel recognition elements such as antibodies, aptamers and molecularly imprinted polymers. Application to food/feed commodities, limit and time of detection were also discussed.

Abstract
An impedimetric immunosensor for fumonisin B1 (FB1) was developed from a poly(2,5-dimethoxyaniline)-multi-walled carbon nanotube (PDMA-MWCNT) composite on the surface of glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The composite was prepared electrochemically and characterized using cyclic voltammetry. The preparation of the FB1 immunosensor involved the drop-coating of a bovine serum albumin mixture of the anti-fumonisin antibody (anti-Fms) onto the composite polymer-modified GCE. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) responses of the FB1 immunosensor (GCE/PDMA-MWCNT/anti-Fms) have a linear range of 7 to 49 ng·L−1, and the corresponding sensitivity and detection limits are 0.272 kΩ L·ng−1 and 3.8 pg·L−1, respectively. The limit of detection of the immunosensor for certified corn sample (i.e., certified reference material) is 0.014 ppm FB1, which is in excellent agreement with the value published by the vendors and significantly more accurate than that obtained with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
