Abstract
Flat layers are usually considered as structurally rigid motifs in two-dimensional (2D) materials. In this work, we demonstrate that a flat honeycomb-layer composed of distorted tri-coordinate copper ions bridged with cyanidos in (tetraethylammonium)Cu2(CN)3 exhibits high in-plane flexibility. This resulted in an extremely large anisotropic 2D-thermal expansion.

Abstract
Extensively-used rechargeable lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) face challenges in achieving high safety and long cycle life. To address such challenges, ultrathin solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) is fabricated with reduced phonon scattering by depositing the composites of ionic-liquid (1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dicyamide, EMIM:DCA), polyurethane (PU) and lithium salt on the polyethylene separator. The robust and flexible separator matrix not only reduces the electrolyte thickness and improves the mobility of Li+, but more importantly provides a relatively regular thermal diffusion channel for SPE and reduces the external phonon scattering. Moreover, the introduction of EMIM:DCA successfully breaks the random intermolecular attraction of the PU polymer chain and significantly decreases phonon scattering to enhance the internal thermal conductivity of the polymer. Thus, the thermal conductivity of the as-obtained SPE increases by approximately six times, and the thermal runaway (TR) of the battery is effectively inhibited. This work demonstrates that optimizing thermal safety of the battery by phonon engineering sheds a new light on the design principle for high-safety Li-ion batteries.

Abstract
Biomaterial-based flexible electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding composite films are desirable in many applications of wearable electronic devices. However, much research focuses on improving the EMI shielding performance of materials, while optimizing the comprehensive safety of wearable EMI shielding materials has been neglected. Herein, wearable cellulose nanofiber@boron nitride nanosheet/silver nanowire/bacterial cellulose (CNF@BNNS/AgNW/BC) EMI shielding composite films with sandwich structure are fabricated via a simple sequential vacuum filtration method. For the first time, the electrical safety, biosafety, and thermal safety of EMI shielding materials are optimized integratedly. Since both sides of the sandwich structure contain CNF and BC electrical insulation layers, the CNF@BNNS/AgNW/BC composite films exhibit excellent electrical safety. Furthermore, benefiting from the AgNW conductive networks in the middle layer, the CNF@BNNS/AgNW/BC exhibit excellent EMI shielding effectiveness of 49.95 dB and ultra-fast response Joule heating performance. More importantly, the antibacterial property of AgNW ensures the biosafety of the composite films. Meanwhile, the AgNW and the CNF@BNNS layers synergistically enhance the thermal conductivity of the CNF@BNNS/AgNW/BC composite film, reaching a high value of 8.85 W m‒1 K‒1, which significantly enhances its thermal safety when used in miniaturized electronic device. This work offers new ideas for fabricating biomaterial-based EMI shielding composite films with high comprehensive safety.

Abstract
Electromagnetic (EM) metamaterials have garnered considerable attention due to their capacity to achieve negative parameters, significantly influencing the integration of natural materials with artificially structural media. The emergence of carbon aerogels (CAs) offers an opportunity to create lightweight EM metamaterials, notable for their promising EM shielding or absorption effects. This paper introduces an efficient, low-cost method for fabricating CAs without requiring stringent drying conditions. By finely tuning the ZnCl2/lignin ratio, the porosity is controlled in CAs. This control leads to an epsilon-negative response in the radio-frequency region, driven by the intrinsic plasmonic state of the 3D carbon network, as opposed to traditional periodic building blocks. This approach yields a tunable and weakly epsilon-negative response, reaching an order of magnitude of -103 under MHz frequencies. Equivalent circuit analysis highlights the inductive characteristics of CAs, correlating their significant dielectric loss at low frequencies. Additionally, EM simulations are performed to evaluate the distribution of the electric field vector in epsilon-negative CAs, showcasing their potential for effective EM shielding. The lignin-derived, lightweight CAs with their tunable epsilon-negative response hold promise for pioneering new directions in EM metamaterials and broadening their application in diverse extreme conditions.

Abstract
The air filtration materials with high efficiency, low resistance, and extra antibacterial property are crucial for personal health protection. Herein, a tree-like polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofibrous membrane with hierarchical structure (trunk fiber of 447 nm, branched fiber of 24.7 nm) and high filtration capacity is demonstrated. Specifically, 2-hydroxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride terminated hyperbranched polymer (HBP-HTC) with near-spherical three-dimensional molecular structure and adjustable terminal positive groups is synthesized as an additive for PVDF electrospinning to enhance the jet splitting and promote the formation of branched ultrafine nanofibers, achieving a coverage rate of branched nanofibers over 90% that is superior than small molecular quaternary ammonium salts. The branched nanofibers network enhances mechanical properties and filtration efficiency (99.995% for 0.26 µm sodium chloride particles) of the PVDF/HBP-HTC membrane, which demonstrates reduced pressure drop (122.4 Pa) and a quality factor up to 0.083 Pa-1 on a 40 µm-thick sample. More importantly, the numerous quaternary ammonium salt groups of HBP-HTC deliver excellent antibacterial properties to the PVDF membranes. Bacterial inhibitive rate of 99.9% against both S. aureus and E. coli is demonstrated in a membrane with 3.0 wt% HBP-HTC. This work provides a new strategy for development of high-efficiency and antibacterial protection products.

Abstract
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and infrared (IR) stealth materials have attracted increasing attention owing to the rapid development of modern communication and military surveillance technologies. However, to realize excellent EMI shielding and IR stealth performance simultaneously remains a great challenge. Herein, a facile strategy is demonstrated to prepare high-efficiency EMI shielding and IR stealth materials of sandwich-structured MXene-based thin foam composites (M-W-M) via filtration and hot-pressing. In this composite, the conductive Ti3C2Tx MXene/cellulose nanofiber (MXene/CNF) film serves as the outer layer, which reflects electromagnetic waves and reduces the IR emissivity. Meanwhile, the middle layer is composed of a porous waste polyurethane foam (WPUF), which not only improves thermal insulation capacity but also extends electromagnetic wave propagation paths. Owing to the unique sandwich structure of "film-foam-film", the M-W-M composite exhibits a high EMI shielding effectiveness of 83.37 dB, and in the meantime extremely low emissivity (22.17%) in the wavelength range of 7-14 µm and thermal conductivity (0.19 W m-1 K-1), giving rise to impressive IR stealth performance at various surrounding temperatures. Remarkably, the M-W-M composite also shows excellent Joule heating properties, capable of maintaining the IR stealth function during Joule heating.

Abstract
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding and infrared stealth technologies are essential for military and civilian applications. However, it remains a significant challenge to integrate various functions efficiently into a material efficiently. Herein, a minimalist strategy to fabricate multifunctional phase change organohydrogels (PCOHs) was proposed, which were fabricated from polyacrylamide (PAM) organohydrogels, MXene/PEDOT:PSS hybrid fillers, and sodium sulfate decahydrate (Na2SO4·10H2O, SSD) via one-step photoinitiation strategies. PCOHs with a high enthalpy value (130.7 J/g) and encapsulation rate (98%) could adjust the temperature by triggering a phase change of SSD, which can hide infrared radiation to achieve medium-low temperature infrared stealth. In addition, the PCOH-based sensor has good strain sensing ability due to the incorporation of MXene/PEDOT:PSS and can precisely monitor human movement. Remarkably, benefiting from the electron conduction of the three-dimensional conductive network and the ion conduction of the hydrogel, the EMI shielding efficiency (k) of PCOHs can reach 99.99% even the filler content as low as 1.8 wt %. Additionally, EMI shielding, infrared stealth, and sensing-integrated PCOHs can be adhered to arbitrary targets due to their excellent flexibility and adaptability. This work offers a promising pathway for fabricating multifunctional phase change materials, which show great application prospects in military and civilian fields.

Abstract
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials with lightweight, high shielding effectiveness, excellent chemical stability, especially minimized secondary electromagnetic pollution, are urgently desired for integrated electronic systems operating in harsh working environments. Here in this study, by systematically engineering and matching the interfacial properties of carbon-based membrane materials, i.e., graphite paper, whisker carbon nanotube paper (WCNT paper), carbon nanotube film (CNT film), bucky paper (BP), and carbon cloth (CC) with three-dimensional (3D) porous carbon nanotube sponge (CNTS), we successfully constructed a series of multifunctional all-carbon EMI shielding materials, which exhibit excellent average shielding effectiveness of over 90 dB with a thickness of about 1 mm and dramatically minimized secondary electromagnetic reflection. Moreover, benefiting from the all-carbon nature and engineered interfaces, our CMC materials also exhibit excellent photothermal and Joule heating performances. These results not only provide guidance for designing advanced multifunctional all-carbon EMI shielding materials but also shed light on the hidden mechanism between interfaces and performances of composite materials.

Abstract
Stability and multifunctionality greatly extend the applications of phase change materials (PCMs) for thermal storage and management. Herein, CuS and Fe3O4 nanoparticles were successfully loaded onto cotton-derived carbon to develop a multifunctional interface with efficient photothermal conversion and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding properties. 1,3:2,4-di-(3,4-dimethyl) benzylidene sorbitol (DMDBS) and expanded graphite (EG) formed an organic/inorganic three-dimensional network framework to encapsulate 1-octadecanol (OD) by self-assembly. Finally, multifunctional shape-stabilized PCMs (SSPCMs) with the sandwich structure were prepared by the hot-press process. Multifunctional SSPCMs with high load OD (91%) had favorable thermal storage density (200.6 J/g), thermal stability, and a relatively wider available temperature range with improved thermal conductivity to support the thermal storage and management realization. Furthermore, due to the synergistic enhancement of two nanoparticles and the construction of the carbon network with cotton carbon and EG, highly efficient photothermal conversion (94.4%) and EMI shielding (68.9 dB average, X-band) performance were achieved at about 3 mm thickness, which provided the possibility of the multifunctional integration of PCMs. Conclusively, this study provides new insights towards integrating solar energy utilization with the comprehensive protection of related electronics.

In this work, high-performance epoxy resin (EP) composites with simultaneous excellent thermal conductivity (TC) and outstanding electromagnetic shielding properties are fabricated through the structural synergy of 1D carbon nanotubes and 2D silver-modified boron nitride nanoplates (CNT/AgBNs) to erect microscopic 3D networks on long-range carbon fiber (CF) felt skeletons. The line-plane combination of CNT/AgBNs improve the interfacical bonding involving EP and CF felts and alleviate the phonon scattering at the interface. Eventually, the TC of the EP composites is enhanced by 333% (up to 0.91 W m-1 K-1 ) with respect to EP due to the efficient and orderly transmission of phonons along the 3D pathway. Meanwhile, the unique anisotropic structure of CF felt and exceptional insulating BNs diminishes the electronic conduction between CNT and CFs, which protects the through-plane insulating properties of EP composites. Furthermore, the EP composites present favorable electromagnetic shielding properties (51.36 dB) attributed to the multiple reflection and adsorption promoted by the multiple interfaces of stacked AgBNs and heterointerface among CNT/AgBNs, CF felt and EP. Given these distinguishing features, the high-performance EP composites open a convenient avenue for electromagnetic wave (EMW) shielding and thermal management applications.

Abstract
Radiation-shielding clothing for medical workers must be light and thin, thus ensuring flexibility. However, controlling the thickness and weight is limited by shielding performance requirements. This study aims to improve shielding performance by considering a shielding structure that mimics the internal structure of an abalone shell. Two shields were produced: a sheet made with a carrier process using a liquid polymer and tungsten mixture, and a fillet made by compounding the same material and laminated using a heat-treatment press after the injection process. The tungsten content and thickness were the same at 85 wt% and 0.3 mm, respectively. In the high-energy region, the shielding film based on the laminated structure of abalone shells showed a shielding rate that was higher by more than 7%. Compared to that of a 0.3 mm lead plate, the shielding ratio of the shielding film was approximately 16% lower at 120 kVp, thereby confirming the radiation-shielding effect of the layered-structure shielding film. Therefore, it is concluded that the laminated structure of the shielding film, which is identical to the internal laminated structure of the abalone shell, expands the impact area of incident radiation and attenuates the energy intensity, thereby improving the medical-radiation-shielding performance.

Abstract
With the increased usage of electromagnetic microwaves (EM) in wireless communication technology, the problem of electromagnetic radiation pollution has grown dramatically. This study successfully prepared novel Co/C magnetic nanocomposite fibers for EM absorption using the electrospinning and carbonization methods. The morphology, composition, magnetic properties, and EM absorption performance were extensively characterized. This material shows exceptional EM absorption performance, achieving -72.01 dB (at 2.08 mm) for minimum reflection loss (RLmin) and 5.4 GHz (at 1.68 mm) for effective absorption bandwidth (EAB). The performance surpasses not only any single precursor but also stands as the best in similar investigations. It can be attributed to the microstructure of magnetic Co nanoparticles encapsulated in carbon nanofibers and the macrostructure of cross-linked three-dimensional (3D) conductive networks. The combination of these structures resulted in excellent dielectric loss, magnetic loss, and impedance matching. This research offers new insights into the production of one-dimensional (1D) carbon-based absorbers, while also establishing a theoretical foundation for exploring the application potential of this material. These findings may contribute to the development of more efficient and practical EM absorption materials in the future.

Abstract
A series of CoNi/C nanocomposite fibers with different Co and Ni ratios were successfully prepared by electrospinning and carbonization techniques for the study of electromagnetic microwave (EMW) absorbing materials. We systematically studied the influence of Co and Ni content on the microstructure, chemical composition, magnetic properties, and EMW absorption characteristics of the samples. The results showed that CoNi/C nanocomposite fibers obtained excellent EMW absorption ability through the reasonable design of the composition, and the Co/Ni ratio significantly affected the microstructure and EMW absorption performance. When the Co/Ni ratio was 1/3, the minimum reflection loss (RLmin) is -71.2 dB (2.4 mm, 13.4 GHz), and the maximum effective absorption bandwidth (EAB, RL<-10 dB) is up to 5.9 GHz (2.2 mm, 12.1-18 GHz), covering almost the entire Ku band. This study demonstrated the enormous potential of one-dimensional structure in the field of EMW absorption. In addition, the CoNi/C nanocomposite fiber synthesized using a straightforward and low-cost method not only has excellent EMW absorption performance but also has the potential for practical application. The results of this study provide a simple and effective approach for designing high-performance EMW absorbing materials.

Abstract
Strong, conductive, and flexible materials with improving ion accessibility have attracted significant attention in electromagnetic interference (EMI) and foldable wearable electronics. However, it still remains a great challenge to realize high performance at the same time for both properties. Herein, a microscale structural design combined with nanostructures strategy to fabricate TOCNF(F)/Ti3 C2 Tx (M)@AgNW(A) composite films via a facile vacuum filtration process followed by hot pressing (TOCNF = TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibrils, NW = nanowires) is described. The comparison reveals that different microscale structures can significantly influence the properties of thin films, especially their electrochemical properties. Impressively, the ultrathin MA/F/MA film with enhanced layer in the middle exhibits an excellent tensile strength of 107.9 MPa, an outstanding electrical conductivity of 8.4 × 106 S m-1 , and a high SSE/t of 26 014.52 dB cm2 g-1 . The assembled asymmetric MA/F/MA//TOCNF@CNT (carbon nanotubes) supercapacitor leads to a significantly high areal energy density of 49.08 µWh cm-2 at a power density of 777.26 µW cm-2 . This study proposes an effective strategy to circumvent the trade-off between EMI performance and electrochemical properties, providing an inspiration for the fabrication of multifunctional films for a wide variety of applications in aerospace, national defense, precision instruments, and next-generation electronics.

Abstract
The evolution of contemporary electronics urgently requires the use of versatile electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials in complex environments. Interlayer polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/Fe3O4@multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) foams were prepared by a simple physical foaming method with excellent flexibility and electromagnetic wave absorption. The bottom nickel aramid paper (NiP) layer creates a dense conductive network by chemical plating technology, which ensures excellent EMI effectiveness. The upper carbon black (CB)/Fe3O4 layer further improves the absorption performance via conductive loss and magnetic loss. With the effective layout of the impedance matching layer, absorbing layer, and conductive shielding layer, the CB/Fe3O4-PDMS/Fe3O4@MWCNTs-NiP composite material achieves an EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of 61.7 dB and an absorption coefficient of 0.58 at X-band. In addition, the composite foam provides photothermal conversion and hydrophobicity due to the effective stacking of PDMS and CB/Fe3O4. Thus, the multifunctional composite foam presents a broad range of possible applications, benefiting EMI shielding as well as other specific areas.

Abstract
In the era of fifth-generation networks and Internet-of-Things, the use of multiband electromagnetic radiation shielding is highly desirable for next-generation electronic devices. Herein, we report a systematic exploration of optoelectronic behaviors of ultrathin-silver-based shielding prototype (USP) film structures at the nanometer scale, unlocking the transparent ultrabroadband electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding from microwave to terahertz frequencies. A theoretical model is proposed to optimize USP structures to achieve increased transparency, whereby optical antireflection resonances are introduced in dielectrics in conjunction with remarkable EMI shielding capability. USP can realize a state-of-the-art effective electromagnetic radiation shielding bandwidth with measured frequencies from 8 GHz up to 2 THz. Experimental results show that a basic USP (dAg = 10 nm) offers an average shielding efficiency of ∼27.5 dB from the X- to Ka-bands (8-40 GHz) and maintains a stable shielding performance of ∼22.6 dB across a broad range of 0.5-2 THz, with a measured optical transmittance of ∼95.2%. This extraordinary performance of ultrathin-silver-based film structures provides a new ultrabroadband EMI shielding paradigm for potential applications in next-generation electronics.

Abstract
High electromagnetic interference shielding (EMIS) effectiveness and good thermal management properties are both required to meet the rapid development of integrated electronic components. However, it remains challenging to obtain environmentally friendly and flexible films with high EMIS and thermal management performance in an efficient and scalable way. In this paper, an environmentally friendly strategy is proposed to synthesize multifunctional waterborne Cu@Ag flake conductive films using water as the solvent and silicone-acrylic emulsion (SAE) as a matrix. The obtained films show high electrical conductivity and exceptional EMI SE and electrothermal conversion properties. The EMI SE in the X-band is higher than 76.31 dB at a thickness of 60 μm owing to the ultrahigh electrical conductivity of 1073.61 S cm-1. The film warms up quickly to 102.1 °C within 10 s under a low voltage of 2.0 V. In addition, the shielding coating is sufficiently flexible to retain a conductivity of 93.4% after 2000 bending-release cycles with a bending radius of 3 mm. This work presents an alternative strategy to produce high EMIS effectiveness and Joule heating films for highly integrated and flexible electronic components in a green, scalable, and highly efficient way.

Abstract
Unpredictable and extreme weather conditions, along with increasing electromagnetic pollution, have resulted in a significant threat to human health and productivity, causing irreversible damage to society's well-being and economy. However, existing personal temperature management and electromagnetic protection materials lack adaptability to dynamic environmental changes. To address this, a unique asymmetric bilayer leather/a-MWCNTs/CA fabric is developed by vacuum-infiltrating interconnected a-MWCNTs networks into natural leather's microfiber backbone and spraying porous acetic acid (CA) on the reverse side. Such fabric achieves simultaneous passive radiation cooling, heating, and anti-electromagnetic interference functions without external energy input. The fabric's cooling layer has high solar reflectance (92.0%) and high infrared emissivity (90.2%), providing an average subambient radiation cooling effect of 10 °C, while the heating layer has high solar absorption (98.0%), enabling excellent passive radiative heating and effective compensation for warming via Joule heating. Additionally, the fabric's 3D conductive a-MWCNTs network provides electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of 35.0 dB mainly through electromagnetic wave absorption. This multimode electromagnetic shielding fabric can switch between cooling and heating modes to adapt to dynamic cooling and heating scenarios, providing a new avenue for sustainable temperature management and electromagnetic protection applications.

Abstract
The development of technologies for electromagnetic wave contamination has garnered attention. Among the various electromagnetic wave frequencies, for high frequencies such as those in the K and Ka ranges, there is a limitation of using only the properties of a single material. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the absorption coefficients by increasing the path of electromagnetic waves through internal scattering at an interface or a structure inside the material. Here, we accurately demonstrated the role of Sn in the growth of an indium tin oxide (ITO) nano-branch structure and grew high-density ITO nano-branches with the lowest thickness possible. Consequently, we obtained shielding efficiencies of 21.09 dB (K band) and 17.81 dB (Ka band) for a film with a thickness of 0.00364 mm. Owing to the significantly high specific shielding efficiency and low thickness and weight, it is expected to be applied in various fields.

Abstract
In this work, inspired by the great advantage of the unique "brick-mortar" layered structure as electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials, a multifunctional flexible graphene nanosheets (GNS)/polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) composite film with excellent EMI shielding effects, impressive Joule heating performance, and light-to-heat conversion efficiency is fabricated based on the self-emulsifying process of PTFE. Both PTFE microspheres and nanofibers are employed together for the first time as "sand and cement" to build unique nacre-structured EMI shielding materials. Such configuration can obviously enhance the adhesion of composites and improve their mechanical property for the application under extreme environment. Moreover, the simple and effective repetitive roll pressing method can be used for the scalable production in industrialization. The GNS/PTFE composite film shows a high EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) of 50.85 dB. Furthermore, it has a high thermal conductivity of 16.54 W (m K)-1 , good flexibility, and recyclable properties. The excellent fire-resistant and hydrophobic properties of GNS/PTFE film also ensure its reliability and safety in practical application. In conclusion, the GNS/PTFE film demonstrates the potential for industrial manufacturing, and outstanding EMI shielding performance with high stability and durability, which has a broad application prospect for electronic devices in practical extreme outdoor environments.

Abstract
The integration and miniaturization of contemporary electronics have led to significant challenges in dealing with electromagnetic (EM) radiation and heat accumulation. Despite these issues, achieving high thermal conductivity (TC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding effectiveness (SE) in polymer composite films remains an exceptionally difficult task. In this work, we used a straightforward in situ reduction process and a vacuum-drying method to successfully prepare a flexible Ag NPs/chitosan (CS)/PVA nanocomposite with three-dimensional (3D) conductive and thermally conductive network architectures. The 3D silver pathways formed by attaching to the chitosan fibers endow the material with simultaneous exceptional TC and EMI capabilities. At a silver concentration of 25 vol %, the TC of Ag NPs/CS/PVA nanocomposites reaches 5.18 W·m-1·K-1, exhibiting an approximately 25 times increase compared to CS/PVA composites. The electromagnetic shielding performance of 78.5 dB significantly outperforms the specifications of standard commercial EMI shielding applications by a significant margin. Additionally, Ag NPs/CS/PVA nanocomposites have greatly benefited from microwave absorption (SEA), effectively impeding the transmission of EM waves and reducing the reflected secondary EM wave pollution. Meanwhile, the composite material still maintains good mechanical properties and bendability. This endeavor helped develop malleable and durable composites that possess superior EMI shielding capabilities and intriguing heat dissipation properties using innovative design and fabrication methods.

Abstract
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is a pervasive and harmful phenomenon in modern society that affects the functionality and reliability of electronic devices and poses a threat to human health. To address this issue, EMI-shielding materials with high absorption performance have attracted considerable attention. Among various candidates, two-dimensional MXenes are promising materials for EMI shielding due to their high conductivity and tunable surface chemistry. Moreover, by incorporating magnetic and conductive fillers into MXene/polymer composites, the EMI shielding performance can be further improved through structural design and impedance matching. Herein, we provide a comprehensive review of the recent progress in MXene/polymer composites for absorption-dominated EMI shielding applications. We summarize the fabrication methods and EMI shielding mechanisms of different composite structures, such as homogeneous, multilayer, segregated, porous, and hybrid structures. We also analyze the advantages and disadvantages of these structures in terms of EMI shielding effectiveness and the absorption ratio. Furthermore, we discuss the roles of magnetic and conductive fillers in modulating the electrical properties and EMI shielding performance of the composites. We also introduce the methods for evaluating the EMI shielding performance of the materials and emphasize the electromagnetic parameters and challenges. Finally, we provide insights and suggestions for the future development of MXene/polymer composites for EMI shielding applications.

Abstract
Electromagnetic (EM) pollution has become a serious problem in modern society as it affects human lives. The fabrication of strong and highly flexible materials for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding applications is extremely urgent. Herein, a MXene Ti3C2Tx/Fe3O4 & bacterial cellulose (BC)/Fe3O4&Methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) flexible hydrophobic electromagnetic shielding film (SBTFX-Y, X and Y were the number of layers of BC/Fe3O4 and the layers of Ti3C2Tx/Fe3O4), was fabricated. In the prepared film, MXene Ti3C2Tx absorbs a large amount of radio waves through polarization relaxation and conduction loss. Because of its extremely low reflectance of electromagnetic waves, BC@Fe3O4, as the outermost layer of the material, allows more electromagnetic waves to incident inside the material. The maximum electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding efficiency (SE) of 68 dB was achieved for the composite film at 45 μm thickness. What's more, the SBTFX-Y films show excellent mechanical properties, hydrophobicity and flexibility. The unique stratified structure of the film provides a new strategy for designing high-performance EMI shielding films with excellent surface and mechanical properties.

Abstract
Developing ultimate electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials that can simultaneously upgrade the quality of generated electricity and the light-thermal-electric conversion efficiency based on traditional thermoelectric devices is crucially desired. Herein, a series of flexible multilayered phase change films (PCFs) is developed by a simple and novel origami strategy. The PCFs are first reported to improve the light-thermal-electric conversion efficiency by as high as 11.3%. Simultaneously, the PCFs could significantly upgrade the generated electricity on average voltage (27.3%), average current (23.8%), and lasting power outputs by 2010 times from microwatts to milliwatts. Besides, the EMI shielding efficiency of PCFs could be tuned from 39.2 to 71.9 dB by the origami process, the wide-range EMI shielding performance could be suitable for varying occasions. Overall, this work provides a promising solution for both the preparation of multifunctional materials, high-efficiency solar energy harvesting and upgrading electricity generation, which shows broad application prospects in EMI shielding, energy storage, and conversion.

Abstract
Compared with traditional metal materials, carbon-based materials have the advantages of low density, high conductivity, good chemical stability, etc., and can be used as reliable alternative materials in various fields. Among them, the carbon fiber conductive network constructed by electrospinning technology has the advantages of high porosity, high specific surface area and rich heterogeneous interface. In order to further improve the conductivity and mechanical properties of pure carbon fiber films, tantalum carbide (TaC) nanoparticles were selected as conductive fillers. The crystallization degree, electrical and mechanical properties of electrospun TaC/C nanofibers at different temperatures were investigated. As the carbonization temperature increases, the crystallization degree and electrical conductivity of the sample also increases, while the growth trend of electrical conductivity is markedly slowed. The best mechanical properties of 12.39 MPa was achieved when the carbonization temperature was 1200 °C. Finally, through comprehensive analysis and comparison, it can be concluded that a carbonization temperature of 1200 °C is the optimum.

Abstract
Highly ordered and uniformly porous structure of conductive foams is a vital issue for various functional purposes such as piezoresistive sensing and electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding. With the aids of Kevlar polyanionic chains, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) foams reinforced by aramid nanofibers (ANF) with adjustable pore-size distribution were successfully obtained via a non-solvent-induced phase separation. In this regard, the most outstanding result is the in situ formation of ANF in TPU foams after protonation of Kevlar polyanion during the NIPS process. Furthermore, in situ growth of copper nanoparticles (Cu NPs) on TPU/ANF foams was performed according to the electroless deposition by using the tiny amount of pre-blended Ti3C2Tx MXene as reducing agents. Particularly, the existence of Cu NPs layers significantly promoted the storage modulus in 2,932% increments, and the well-designed TPU/ANF/Ti3C2Tx MXene (PAM-Cu) composite foams showed distinguished compressive cycle stability. Taking virtues of the highly ordered and elastic porous architectures, the PAM-Cu foams were utilized as piezoresistive sensor exhibiting board compressive interval of 0-344.5 kPa (50% strain) with good sensitivity at 0.46 kPa-1. Meanwhile, the PAM-Cu foams displayed remarkable EMI shielding effectiveness at 79.09 dB in X band. This work provides an ideal strategy to fabricate highly ordered TPU foams with outstanding elastic recovery and excellent EMI shielding performance, which can be used as a promising candidate in integration of satisfactory piezoresistive sensor and EMI shielding applications for human-machine interfaces.

Abstract
Flexible multifunctional polymer-based electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding composite films have important applications in the fields of 5G communication technology, wearable electronic devices, and artificial intelligence. Based on the design of a porous/multilayered structure and using polyimide (PI) as the matrix and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres as the template, flexible (Fe3 O4 /PI)-Ti3 C2 Tx -(Fe3 O4 /PI) composite films with controllable pore sizes and distribution of Ti3 C2 Tx hollow microspheres are successfully prepared by sacrificial template method. Owing to the porous/multilayered structure, when the pore size of the Ti3 C2 Tx hollow microspheres is 10 µm and the mass ratio of PMMA/Ti3 C2 Tx is 2:1, the (Fe3 O4 /PI)-Ti3 C2 Tx -(Fe3 O4 /PI) composite film has the most excellent EMI shielding performance, with EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SE) of 85 dB. It is further verified by finite element simulation that the composite film has an excellent shielding effect on electromagnetic waves. In addition, the composite film has good thermal conductivity (thermal conductivity coefficient of 3.49 W (m·K)-1 ) and mechanical properties (tensile strength of 65.3 MPa). This flexible (Fe3 O4 /PI)-Ti3 C2 Tx -(Fe3 O4 /PI) composite film with excellent EMI shielding performance, thermal conductivity, and mechanical properties has demonstrated great potential for applications in EMI shielding protection for high-power, portable, and wearable flexible electronic devices.

Abstract
Biomass-based multifunctional electromagnetic shielding materials have attracted extensive interest in academia and industry due to the sustainability of biomass and the environmental adaptability of multifunctional materials. After removing lignin and hemicellulose wood become a porous substrate with aligned cellulose, which is a good platform for building cellulose-based materials. In this work, a cellulose composite with sandwich-like structure was constructed by in-situ polymerization of aniline on delignified wood and coating a PDMS/CNT layer. Benefiting from the natural porous hierarchical structure and the constructed multilayer continuous conductive network, the PDMS/CNT/PANI WA exhibits excellent electrical conductivity (18.6 S/m) and electromagnetic shielding performance (shielding efficiency value of 26 dB at the X band (8.2-12.4 GHz)). The synergistic effect of PANI and CNT endowed the material with excellent flame retardancy (HRR, THR and HRC decreased by 84 %, 53.4 % and 83.3 %) and significant antibacterial activity. Moreover, PDMS imparts a water contact angle of 105° to the material, which acts as a protective layer, further improves the durability of the material. This work provides a new strategy for developing sustainable and multifunctional electromagnetic shielding materials.

Abstract
Integrating high flame retardancy and excellent electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding into polymetric materials is extremely necessary, and well dispersing conductive fillers into polymeric materials is still a great challenge because of incompatible interfacial polarity between polymer matrix and conductive fillers. Therefore, under the premise of maintaining integral conductive films in the process of hot compression, constructing a novel EMI shielding polymer nanocomposites where conductive films closely adhere to polymer nanocmposites layers should be a fascinating stratety. In this work, salicylaldehyde-modified chitosan decorated titanium carbide nanohybrid (Ti3C2Tx-SCS) was combined with piperazine-modified ammonium polyphosphate (PA-APP) to fabricate thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) nanocomposites, which were used for construction of hierarchical nanocomposite films by inserting reduced graphene oxide (rGO) films into TPU/PA-APP/Ti3C2Tx-SCS nanocomposite layers through our self-developed air assisted hot pressing technique. The total heat release, total smoke release and total carbon monoxide yield for TPU nanocomposite containing 4.0 wt% Ti3C2Tx-SCS nanohybrid were 58.0%, 58.4% and 75.8% lower than those of pristine TPU, respectively. Besides, the hierarchical TPU nanocomposite film containing 1.0 wt% Ti3C2Tx-SCS presented an averaged EMI shielding effectiveness of 21.3 dB in X band. This work provides a promising strategy for fabricating fire safe and EMI shielding polymer nanocomposites.

Abstract
The multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were grown by CVD method and using Ni impregnated zeolite as a substrate. The prepared MWCNT diameter varied from 10 to 60 nm and length in few microns. The silicone rubber (SR) was mixed well with conductive carbon, Polyaniline (PANI) and MWCNTs in two roll mill. The prepared silicone rubber materials were fabricated in the form of sheets with dimensions of 200 mm × 200 mm × 2 mm by using compression molding technique. The prepared sheets were subjected for EMI shielding efficiency measurements at low frequency (< 1.5 GHz) and high frequency range from 1 GHz to 18 GHz. At high frequency the shielding effectiveness of the Conducting Silicone Rubber and Conductive silicone rubber with MWCNT was found to be 24 dB and 48 dB. The volume resistivity measurements were also carried for all the prepared silicone rubber sheets, the results reveals that SR + MWCNT, CSR + MWCNT composites shows volume resistivity 4032 and 20.7 Ω.cm respectively. This confirms the conductivity of CSR + MWCNT is enough to exhibit good Shielding Effectiveness.

Abstract
Carbon fiber (CF) composites performance enhancement is a research hotspot at present. In this work, first, a sandwich structure composite, CF@(carbon nanotube/Fe3O4)/epoxy (CF@(CNT/Fe3O4)/EP), is prepared by the free arc dispersion-CFs surface spraying-rolling process method, herein, CFs in the middle layer and (CNT/Fe3O4)/EP as top and substrate layer. Then, CF@(CNT/Fe3O4)/EP (on both sides) and CFs (in the middle) are overlapped by structure design, forming a multilayer CF@(CNT/Fe3O4)/EP-CFs composite with a CFs core sheath. A small amount of CNT/Fe3O4 is consumed, (CNT/Fe3O4)/EP and CFs core sheath realize thermal and electrical anisotropy and directional enhancement, and multilayer sandwich structure makes the electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance better strengthened by multiple absorption-reflection/penetration-reabsorption. From CF-0 to CF-8, CNT/Fe3O4 content only increases by 0.045 wt%, axial thermal conductivity (λ‖) increases from 0.59 W/(m·K) to 1.1 W/(m·K), growth rate is 86%, radial thermal conductivity (λ⟂) only increases by 0.05 W/(m·K), the maximum λ‖/λ⟂ is 2.9, axial electrical conductivity (σ‖) increases from 6.2 S/cm to 7.7 S/cm, growth rate is 24%, radial electrical conductivity (σ⟂) only increases by 0.7 × 10-4 S/cm, the total EMI shielding effectiveness (EMI SET) increases by 196%, from 10.3 dB to 30.5 dB. This provides a new idea for enhancing CFs composite properties.

Abstract
High-strength nonmetallic materials with low infrared (IR) emission are rare in nature, yet highly anticipated especially in military and aerospace fields for thermal camouflage, IR stealth, energy-saving heating. Here, we reported a high-strength (422 MPa) nonmetallic film with very low IR emissivity (12%), realized by constructing alternating multilayered structures consisting of successive MXene functionalized outer layers and continuous GO reinforced inner layers. This nonmetallic film is capable of competing with typical stainless steel (415 MPa, 15.5%), and exhibits remarkable thermal camouflage performance (ΔT = 335 °C), ultrahigh Joule heating capability (350 °C at 2 V), excellent solar-to-thermal conversion efficiency (70.2%), and ultrahigh specific electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness (83 429 dB cm-1). Impressively, these functionalities can be maintained well after prolonged outdoor aging, and even after undergoing harsh application conditions including strong acid/alkali and boiling water immersion, and cryogenic (-196 °C) temperature.

Abstract
The construction of hollow metallic microspheres with rationally designed building blocks of the metal shell is a promising way to achieve low density and functionality control, but the microengineering of the metallic structures on a micrometer spherical surface is a great challenge. In the present work, a novel and simple calcination-induced aggregation strategy is developed to realize the distribution status and microstructure control of Co-Cu bimetal building blocks assembled on a hollow glass microsphere support, and thus a series of low-density (0.58 g cm-3 ) dual shell composite hollow microspheres are constructed with gradient in electromagnetic property depending on the calcination temperature (CT). The optimized microwave shielding performance can be achieved at a CT of 500 °C, while further increasing CT to 700 °C leads to an interesting conversion from microwave shielding to absorption with an optimized effective absorption bandwidth of 4.64 GHz at a low matching thickness of 1.33 mm. The mechanism underlying the CT-dependent metallic shell structure variation and further the decisive effect of the shell structure on the microwave response behavior are proposed based on a series of contrast experiments.

Abstract
Application of novel radio technologies and equipment inevitably leads to electromagnetic pollution. One-dimensional polymer-based composite membrane structures have been shown to be an effective strategy to obtain high-performance microwave absorbers. Herein, we reported a one-dimensional N-doped carbon nanofibers material which encapsulated the hollow Co3SnC0.7 nanocubes in the fiber lumen by electrospinning. Space charge stacking formed between nanoparticles can be channeled by longitudinal fibrous structures. The dielectric constant of the fibers is highly related to the carbonization temperature, and the great impedance matching can be achieved by synergetic effect between Co3SnC0.7 and carbon network. At 800 °C, the necklace-like Co3SnC0.7/CNF with 5% low load achieves an excellent RL value of - 51.2 dB at 2.3 mm and the effective absorption bandwidth of 7.44 GHz with matching thickness of 2.5 mm. The multiple electromagnetic wave (EMW) reflections and interfacial polarization between the fibers and the fibers internal contribute a major effect to attenuating the EMW. These strategies for regulating electromagnetic performance can be expanded to other electromagnetic functional materials which facilitate the development of emerging absorbers.

Abstract
Pervasive mechanical impact is growing requirement for advanced high-performance protective materials, while the electromagnetic interference (EMI) confers severe risk to human health and equipment operation. Bioinspired structural composites achieving outstanding safeguards against a single threat have been developed, whereas the synergistic implementation of impact/EMI coupling protection remains a challenge. This work proposes the concept of nacre-mimetic hierarchical composite duplicating the "brick-and-mortar" arrangement, which consists of freeze-drying constructed chitosan/MXene lamellar architecture skeleton embedded in a shear stiffening polyborosiloxane matrix. The resulting composite effectively attenuates the impact force of 85.9%-92.8% with extraordinary energy dissipation capacity, in the coordinative manner of strain-rate enhancement, structural densification, lamella dislocation and crack propagation. Attributed to the alternate laminated structure promoting the reflection loss of electromagnetic waves, it demonstrates an ultraefficient EMI shielding effectiveness of 47.2-71.8 dB within extremely low MXene loadings of 1.1-1.3 wt %. Furthermore, it serves favorably in impact monitoring and wireless alarm systems and accomplishes performance optimization through the combination of multiple biomimetic strategies. In conclusion, this function-integrated structural composite is shown to be a competitive candidate for sophisticated environments by resisting impact damage and EMI hazards.

Abstract
High‑efficiency electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials are of great importance for electronic equipment reliability, information security and human health. In this work, bidirectional aligned Ti3C2Tx@Fe3O4/CNF aerogels (BTFCA) were firstly assembled by bidirectional freezing and freeze-drying technique, and the BTFCA/epoxy nanocomposites with long-range aligned lamellar structures were then prepared by vacuum-assisted impregnation of epoxy resins. Benefitting from the successful construction of bidirectional aligned three-dimensional conductive networks and electromagnetic synergistic effect, when the mass fraction of Ti3C2Tx and Fe3O4 are 2.96 and 1.48 wt%, BTFCA/epoxy nanocomposites show outstanding EMI shielding effectiveness of 79 dB, about 10 times of that of blended Ti3C2Tx@Fe3O4/epoxy (8 dB) nanocomposites with the same loadings of Ti3C2Tx and Fe3O4. Meantime, the corresponding BTFCA/epoxy nanocomposites also present excellent thermal stability (Theat-resistance index of 198.7 °C) and mechanical properties (storage modulus of 9902.1 MPa, Young's modulus of 4.51 GPa and hardness of 0.34 GPa). Our fabricated BTFCA/epoxy nanocomposites would greatly expand the applications of MXene and epoxy resins in the fields of information security, aerospace and weapon manufacturing, etc.

Abstract
The practical application of polymer composites in the electronic and communications industries often requires multi-properties, such as high thermal conductivity (TC), efficient electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding ability with low electrical conductivity, superior tribological performance, reliable thermal stability and excellent mechanical properties. However, the integration of these mutually exclusive properties is still a challenge, ascribed to their different requirement on the incorporated nanofillers, composite microstructure as well as processing process. Herein, a well-designed boron nitride nanosheet (BN)/graphene nanosheet (GNP)/polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) composite with a dual-segregated structure is fabricated via high-pressure molding. Rather than homogenous mixing of the hybrid fillers, GNP is first coated on PPS particles and followed by encapsulating the conductive GNP layers with insulating BN, forming a BN shell-GNP layer-PPS core composite particles. After hot-pressing, a dual segregated structure is constructed, in which GNP and BN are distinctly separated and arranged in the interfaces of PPS, which on the one hand gives rise to high thermal conductivity, and on the other hand, the aggregated BN layer can act as an "isolation belt" to effectively reduce the electronic transmission. Impressively, high-pressure is loaded and it has a more profound effect on the EMI shielding and thermal conductive properties of PPS composites with a segregated structure than that with homogenous mixed-structure composites. Intriguingly, the synergetic enhancement effect of BN and GNP on both thermal conductive performance and EMI shielding is stimulated by high pressure. Consequently, PPS composites with 30 wt% GNP and 10 wt% BN hot-pressed under 600 MPa present the most superior comprehensive properties with a high TC of 6.4 W/m/K, outstanding EMI SE as high as 70 dB, marvelous tribological performance, reliable thermal stability and satisfactory mechanical properties, which make it promising for application in miniaturized electronic devices in complex environments.

Abstract
Nowadays, high efficiency and low reflection electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials have a wide potential application of electronic fields. However, it is still challenging to achieve long-term durability under external mechanical deformations or other harsh conditions. Herein, sandwich-structured surface coatings with a mixture of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)/carboxylated multiwalled carbon nanotube and magnetic ferriferous oxide nanoparticle hybrid fillers (MWCNTs-COOH/Fe3O4, MFs) are introduced onto a silver-decorated electrospun thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) fibrous film to achieve both outstanding low reflective EMI shielding and favorable durability. The surface coatings not only act as an effective absorbing layer but also provide a micro-nano hierarchical superhydrophobic surface. The resultant film shows a remarkable conductivity (361.0 S/cm), an excellent EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) approaching 85.4 dB, and a low reflection coefficient value of 0.61. Interestingly, the obtained film still maintains an excellent EMI SE even after mechanical deformations or being immersed in strong acidic solution, alkaline solution, and organic solvents for 6 h. This work opens a new avenue for the design of low reflective EMI shielding films under harsh environments.

Abstract
Rapid development of highly integrated electronic and telecommunication devices has led to urgent demands for electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials that incorporate flame retardancy, and more desirably the early fire detection ability, due to the potential fire hazards caused by heat propagation and thermal failure of the devices during operation. Here, multifunctional flexible films having the main dual functions of high EMI shielding performance and repeatable fire detection ability are fabricated by vacuum filtration of the mixture of MXene and aramid nanofiber (ANF) suspensions. ANFs serve to reinforce MXene films via the formation of hydrogen bonding between the carbonyl groups of ANFs and the hydroxyl groups of MXene. When the ANF content is 20 wt %, the tensile strength of the film is increased from 24.6 MPa for a pure MXene film to 79.5 MPa, and such a composite film (9 μm thickness) exhibits a high EMI shielding effectiveness (SE) value of ∼40 dB and a specific SE (SSE) value of 4361.1 dB/mm. Upon fire exposure, the composite films can trigger the fire detection system within 10 s owing to the thermoelectric property of MXene. The self-extinguishing feature of ANFs ensures the structural integrity of the films during burning, thus allowing for continuous alarm signals. Moreover, the films also exhibit excellent Joule heating and photothermal conversion performances with rapid response and sufficient heating reliability.
