Abstract
Over the last decade, increasing research has focused on urinary exosomes (UEs) in biological fluids and their relationship with physiological and pathological processes. UEs are membranous vesicles with a size of 40-100 nm, containing a number of bioactive molecules such as proteins, lipids, mRNAs, and miRNAs. These vesicles are an inexpensive non-invasive source that can be used in clinical settings to differentiate healthy patients from diseased patients, thereby serving as potential biomarkers for the early identification of disease. Recent studies have reported the isolation of small molecules called exosomal metabolites from individuals' urine with different diseases. These metabolites could utilize for a variety of purposes, such as the discovery of biomarkers, investigation of mechanisms related to disease development, and importantly prediction of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) risk factors, including thrombosis, inflammation, oxidative stress, hyperlipidemia as well as homocysteine. It has been indicated that alteration in urinary metabolites of N1-methylnicotinamide, 4-aminohippuric acid, and citric acid can be valuable in predicting cardiovascular risk factors, providing a novel approach to evaluating the pathological status of CVDs. Since the UEs metabolome has been clearly and precisely so far unexplored in CVDs, the present study has specifically addressed the role of the mentioned metabolites in the prediction of CVDs risk factors.

Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by severe joint damage and disability. However, the specific mechanism of RA has not been thoroughly clarified over the past decade. Nitric oxide (NO), a kind of gas messenger molecule with many molecular targets, is demonstrated to have significant roles in histopathology and homeostasis. Three nitric oxide synthases (NOS) are related to producing NO and regulating the generation of NO. Based on the latest studies, NOS/NO signaling pathways play a key role in the pathogenesis of RA. Overproduction of NO can induce the generation and release of inflammatory cytokines and act as free radical gas to accumulate and trigger oxidative stress, which can involve in the pathogenesis of RA. Therefore, targeting NOS and its upstream and downstream signaling pathways may be an effective approach to managing RA. This review clearly summarizes the NOS/NO signaling pathway, the pathological changes of RA, the involvement of NOS/NO in RA pathogenesis and the conventional and novel drugs based on NOS/NO signaling pathways that are still in clinical trials and have good therapeutic potential in recent years, with an aim to provide a theoretical basis for further exploration of the role of NOS/NO in the pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of RA.

Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is among the most prevalent and debilitating autoimmune inflammatory chronic diseases. Although it is primarily characterized by destructive peripheral arthritis, it is a systemic disease, and RA-related extraarticular manifestations (EAMs) can affect almost every organ, exhibit a multitude of clinical presentations, and can even be asymptomatic. Importantly, EAMs largely contribute to the quality of life and mortality of RA patients, particularly substantially increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) which is the leading cause of death in RA patients. In spite of known risk factors related to EAM development, a more in-depth understanding of its pathophysiology is lacking. Improved knowledge of EAMs and their comparison to the pathogenesis of arthritis in RA could lead to a better understanding of RA inflammation overall and its initial phases. Taking into account that RA is a disorder that has many faces and that each person experiences it and responds to treatments differently, gaining a better understanding of the connections between the joint and extra-joint manifestations could help to create new treatments and improve the overall approach to the patient.

Abstract
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease with persistent inflammation and progressive joint damage. However, the underlying pathological mechanisms of RA are still unclear. Fibroblast‑like synoviocytes (FLSs) play an important role in the pathogenesis of RA by the regulation of proliferation and apoptosis, and the release of multiple pro-inflammatory factors. The lipid mediator sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 4 (S1PR4) is one of the sphingolipid sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) receptors, which affects the function of immune cells. However, the role of S1PR4 in the activation of FLSs and the development of RA is unknown. In this study, we found that the expression of S1PR4 was significantly increased in RA-FLSs. The silence of S1PR4 decreases the proliferation, migration, proinflammation, and promotes the apoptosis of RA-FLSs, accompanied with repressing interleukin-17 (IL-17)/signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) signal pathway. However, the regulatory effects of S1PR4 silencing on RA-FLSs were partly abolished by additional recombinant human (rh) IL-17A treatment. Therefore, our study demonstrated that S1PR4 silencing might inhibit proliferation, migration, proinflammation, and promote apoptosis of RA-FLSs partly by repressing IL-17, which suggests that inhibitors for S1PR4 might be a potentially promising strategy for the treatment of RA.

Abstract
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a highly prevalent, chronic inflammatory condition of the synovial joints that affects approximately 1% of the global population. The pathogenesis of RA is predominantly inflammatory in nature, thereby accelerating the co-occurrence of other immunoinflammatory conditions such as atherosclerosis. Apart from traditional cardiovascular risk factors, RA patients possess a multitude of other factors that predispose them to early atherosclerotic disease. The aim of this systematic review is to assess the prevalence of premature atherosclerosis in RA patients and elucidate the role that proinflammatory cytokines, RA-related autoantibodies, and endothelial dysfunction play in the pathophysiology of RA-mediated atherosclerosis. We also discussed novel biomarkers that can be used to predict early atherosclerosis in RA and current guidelines used to treat RA. Methods: This review followed the PRISMA guidelines to select and analyze relevant articles. A literature search for articles was performed on February 25, 2022, through three research databases including PubMed, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect. The query used to identify relevant publications was "Rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis" and the search duration was set from 2012-2022. Relevant articles were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Our initial search generated 21,235 articles. We narrowed our search according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After assessing eligibility based on the full content of the articles, 73 articles were ultimately chosen for this review. Conclusion: There is an increased prevalence of accelerated atherosclerosis among RA patients. We found evidence to explain the role of proinflammatory cytokines, RA-related autoantibodies, and endothelial dysfunction in the pathophysiology RA-mediated atherosclerosis. Therapies targeting either the inflammatory load or traditional CV risk-factors seem to improve vascular outcomes in RA patients. Novel markers of atherosclerosis in RA may be useful in predicting premature atherosclerosis and serve as new targets for therapeutic intervention.

Abstract
Introduction Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) has been associated with changes in lipid, arginine and NO metabolism with increased cardiovascular (CV) risk. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of tofacitinib, a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor, on arginine and methionine metabolism in correlation with inflammation, functional and pathological vascular changes during one-year treatment of patients with RA. Materials and methods Thirty RA patients with active disease were treated with either 5 mg bid or 10 mg bid tofacitinib for 12 months. We determined DAS28, CRP, IgM rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) levels. We assessed brachial artery flow-mediated vasodilation (FMD), carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) and pulse-wave velocity (PWV) by ultrasound at baseline and after 6 and 12 months. We also determined plasma L-arginine, L-citrulline, L-ornithine, inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS), asymmetric (ADMA) and symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA), L-N-monomethyl-arginine (L-NMMA), cysteine, homocysteine, and methionine levels at these time points. Results Twenty-six patients (13 on each arm) completed the study. CRP, ESR and DAS28 decreased significantly during one-year treatment with tofacitinib. Arginine and ADMA showed a negative univariate correlation with CRP but not with FMD, PWV or IMT. Tofacitinib at 10 mg bid significantly increased L-arginine, L-ornithine, iNOS and methionine levels after 12 months. ADMA and SDMA levels did not change in our study. Methionine showed negative correlation with FMD at baseline and positive correlation with PWV after 12 months. No change was observed in FMD and PWV but a significant increase was measured in IMT at 6 and 12 months. Multivariate analysis indicated variable correlations of L-arginine, L-citrulline, ADMA, L-NMMA, homocysteine and methionine with DAS28, CRP, ESR and RF but not with anti-CCP after one-year treatment. With respect to vascular pathophysiology, only PWV and methionine correlated with each other. Conclusion One-year tofacitinib treatment suppressed systemic inflammation and improved functional status in RA. FMD, PWV have not been affected by one-year tofacitinib treatment., while IMT increased further despite treatment. Increased arginine and methionine might contribute to the anti-inflammatory effects of tofacitinib. Increased arginine availability with no changing ADMA may protect FMD and PWV from deterioration. The increase of IMT in the anti-inflammatory environment cannot be explained by arginine or methionine metabolism in this study.

Abstract
Objective: The potential contribution of asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) and high-sensitivity C reactive protein (hsCRP) to endothelial dysfunction in APS patients has not been studied in detail, until now. The study involved 105 APS patients (59 diagnosed with primary APS (PAPS) and 46 APS associated with systemic lupus erythematosus (SAPS)) who were compared to 40 controls. Endothelial dysfunction was assessed by measurement of flow-mediated dilatation (FMD) and glyceryl trinitrate dilatation (NMD) of the brachial artery. ADMA (micromol/L) was analyzed by ELISA. Results: FMD in patients with APS was significantly lower than that of the controls (p < 0.001), with no difference between the PAPS and the SAPS groups. ADMA and hsCRP concentrations were significantly higher in the patient cohort than in the control group (p < 0.001, p = 0.006, respectively), as was the case with the SAPS group as compared to the PAPS group (p < 0.001, p = 0.022, respectively). FMD impairment correlated to ADMA (ρ 0.472, p < 0.001) and to hsCRP (ρ 0.181, p = 0.033). In the regression model, the ADMA concentration confirmed the strength of its association (B 0.518, SE 0.183, Wald 8.041, p = 0.005, Exp(B) 1.679, 95% CI 1.174−2.402) to FMD impairment. The synergistic probability model of ADMA and hsCRP caused FMD impairment when the positivity of β2GPIIgG was added. ADMA may be used as a simple and low-cost tool for verifying the presence of endothelial dysfunction in APS patients. According to the results of the study, we could presume that hsCRP, together with aPL, has a preparatory effect on the endothelium in causing endothelial dysfunction.

Abstract
Aim: The extent of the spread of inflammation determines the severity of acute pancreatitis (AP). Methylated arginine residues (MAR), a type of inflammatory mediator, reduce nitric oxide levels and cause vasoconstriction-induced endothelial damage. This study aimed to investigate MAR and related amino acids during acute pancreatic inflammation.
Material and Method: This prospective, quasi-experimental study was conducted with patients diagnosed with AP and an age-matched control group. The patient samples were taken during the diagnosis and recovery time, whereas during the study for the control group. Mainly, Asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), Arginine (ARG), Citrulline (CIT), and related chemicals were studied via a mass spectrometer.
Results: A total of 30 patients with AP (mean age=53.3±17.8) and 30 controls (mean age=53.4±18.0) were included in the study. All patients were identified as non-severe (n=8) and severe (n=22). A decrease was detected in the patients' ADMA levels compared to the control group (p=0.01). MAR did not differ concerning disease severity (p > 0.05). However, MAR levels decreased higher in patients with diabetes or chronic kidney disease (CKD). Between the two samplings, the ARG level and ARG to ADMA ratio increased, while the MAR and CIT to ARG ratio decreased.
Conclusion: Our results showed that MAR levels decreased with AP recovery. The start of a decrease in the high-level blood MAR may indicate the healing of pancreatic inflammation. AP inflammation may be more destructive in patients with diabetes or CKD.

Abstract
Sulfated glycosaminoglycans (sGAGs) are likely to play an important role in the development and progression of rheumatoid arthritis (RA)-associated atherosclerosis. The present study investigated the effect of anti-tumor necrosis factor-α (anti-TNF-α) therapy in combination with methotrexate on plasma sGAG levels and serum markers of endothelial dysfunction. Among sGAG types, plasma chondroitin/dermatan sulfate (CS/DS) and heparan sulfate/heparin (HS/H) were characterized using electrophoretic fractionation. Serum levels of soluble vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (sVCAM-1), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) were measured by immunoassays. The measurements were carried out four times: at baseline and after 3, 9 and 15 months of anti-TNF-α therapy. All analyzed parameters, excluding ADMA, were significantly elevated in patients with RA before the implementation of biological therapy compared to healthy subjects. Performed anti-TNF-α treatment led to a successive decrease in HS/H levels toward normal values, without any effect on CS/DS levels in female RA patients. The treatment was also effective at lowering the serum levels of sVCAM-1, MCP-1, MMP-9 and ADMA. Moreover, a significant positive correlation was found between the circulating HS/H and the 28 joint disease activity score based on the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (DAS28-ESR, r = 0.408; p <0.05), MCP-1 (r = 0.398; p <0.05) and ADMA (r = 0.396; p <0.05) in patients before the first dose of TNF-α inhibitor. In conclusion, a beneficial effect of anti-TNF-α therapy on cell-surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs)/HS turnover and endothelial dysfunction was observed in this study. This was manifested by a decrease in blood HS/H levels and markers of endothelial activation, respectively. Moreover, the decrease in the concentration of HS/H in the blood of patients during treatment, progressing with the decline in disease activity, indicates that the plasma HS/H profile may be useful for monitoring the efficacy of anti-TNF-α treatment in patients with RA.

Abstract
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. Environmental and genetic factors are recognized as risk determinants in the onset and development of CVDs. However, the interaction between both factors on CVDs risk is not still completely clarified. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the interaction between methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T polymorphism and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) exposure (gene-environment interaction) on cardiovascular risk biomarkers in Mexican women. A cross-sectional study was completed with the participation of 390 healthy women. For all enrolled women, anthropometric measurements, serum biochemical analyses, atherogenic indexes, and serum concentrations of biomolecules used as CVD risk biomarkers were obtained. 1-Hydroxypyrene (1-OHP) was measured in urine, as an exposure biomarker of PAHs. The mean urinary level of 1-OHP in the assessed population was 1.23 ± 1.40 μmol/mol creatinine. The allelic frequency (MTHFR C677T polymorphism) identified in the registered individuals was 68.0% for the mutant allele (T-allele). Significant positive associations were detected between urinary 1-OHP levels and serum asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) concentrations (p < 0.05) and atherogenic index of plasma (AIP) values (p < 0.05). Also, women with the TT genotype of the MTHFR C677T enzyme have the highest serum ADMA levels (p < 0.05) and AIP values (p < 0.05) compared to women grouped as CC genotype and CT genotype. Besides, the findings in this study suggest an interaction between environmental (PAHs exposure) and genetic (MTHFR C677T polymorphism) factors on cardiovascular risk markers (ADMA and AIP). According to the usefulness of AIP and ADMA, an increased cardiovascular risk is notable in highly exposed individuals to PAHs with the polymorphic genotype (TT) of the MTHFR enzyme. Therefore, intervention programs in the target communities are required to diminish the cardiovascular risk of the assessed individuals.

Abstract
Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a highly prevalent, chronic inflammatory condition of the synovial joints that affects approximately 1% of the global population. The pathogenesis of RA is predominantly inflammatory in nature, thereby accelerating the co-occurrence of other immunoinflammatory conditions such as atherosclerosis. Apart from traditional cardiovascular risk factors, RA patients possess a multitude of other factors that predispose them to early atherosclerotic disease. The aim of this systematic review is to assess the prevalence of premature atherosclerosis in RA patients and elucidate the role that proinflammatory cytokines, RA-related autoantibodies, and endothelial dysfunction play in the pathophysiology of RA-mediated atherosclerosis. We also discussed novel biomarkers that can be used to predict early atherosclerosis in RA and current guidelines used to treat RA. Methods: This review followed the PRISMA guidelines to select and analyze relevant articles. A literature search for articles was performed on February 25, 2022, through three research databases including PubMed, ProQuest, and ScienceDirect. The query used to identify relevant publications was "Rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis" and the search duration was set from 2012-2022. Relevant articles were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Our initial search generated 21,235 articles. We narrowed our search according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After assessing eligibility based on the full content of the articles, 73 articles were ultimately chosen for this review. Conclusion: There is an increased prevalence of accelerated atherosclerosis among RA patients. We found evidence to explain the role of proinflammatory cytokines, RA-related autoantibodies, and endothelial dysfunction in the pathophysiology RA-mediated atherosclerosis. Therapies targeting either the inflammatory load or traditional CV risk-factors seem to improve vascular outcomes in RA patients. Novel markers of atherosclerosis in RA may be useful in predicting premature atherosclerosis and serve as new targets for therapeutic intervention.

Abstract
Introduction: Diabetes is one of the most common metabolic diseases and one of its important complications is diabetic neuropathy. Due to the relationship between diabetes and thyroid disorders, the present study was performed to determine the association between subclinical hypothyroidism and end-stage diabetic polyneuropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes. Materials and Methods: In this descriptive, analytical study, 154 patients with type 2 diabetes referred to Kosar Hospital in Semnan were evaluated. After recording their demographic information, samples were received for biochemical testing. The patients’ neuropathy was then evaluated based on the United Kingdom screening test (UKST). The results were recorded in the data collection form and then analyzed using SPSS Statistics 22 software. Results: In this study, 154 patients were studied, including 49 with subclinical hypothyroidism and 105 with euthyroid. The results of the present study showed that the mean age of patients in the subclinical hypothyroid group was 60.08 years and in the euthyroid group was 60.77 years. Mean ± standard deviation (SD) of the patients’ age, blood pressure, duration of diabetes, body mass index, fasting blood sugar (FBS) and Glucose, and 2-hour post prandial (2HPP) were not statistically significant between the two groups. The frequency of neuropathy severity based on clinical signs during examination and symptoms mentioned by the patients in the two groups was statistically significant (P = 0.005 and P = 0.001, respectively). The severity of neuropathy was not significantly associated with thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels (P > 0.05). Conclusion: From the results of the present study, it can be concluded that the severity of neuropathy based on the clinical signs during examination and the symptoms mentioned by the patient in diabetic patients is related to subclinical hypothyroidism. Further studies are recommended.

Abstract
Objective To identify lymphocyte and CD4 + T cell subset characteristics, particularly regulatory T cells (Tregs), in active rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods A total of 54 RA patients with CAD (RA-CAD group), 43 RA patients without CAD (pure RA group), and 43 healthy controls (HC group) were enrolled. The absolute number and frequency of lymphocyte subpopulations and CD4 + T cell subsets were analyzed by flow cytometry. Serum levels of cytokines were analyzed using a cytometric bead array. Clinical and laboratory data were collected retrospectively and their correlation with CD4 + T subsets were analyzed. Results There was a significant decrease in the absolute number of Treg cells (CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3 + T cells) in the RA-CAD group compared to the pure RA group (p < 0.001). Similarly, both the absolute number (p = 0.001) and frequency (p = 0.011) of Tregs in the RA-CAD group were decreased compared to the HCs, causing a Th17/Treg imbalance (p = 0.044). No difference was found in the absolute number and frequency of Treg cells between the pure RA and HC groups. However, the absolute Th17 cell count was increased in the pure RA group (p = 0.032). The serum level of cytokine IL-17 was lower in the RA-CAD group than in the pure RA group (p = 0.023). In the RA-CAD group, the Treg number was negatively correlated with the RA disease activity score and ESR value, and LDL and ApoB100 levels were negatively correlated with the number of Th17 cells. Conclusions Active RA patients with CAD sustain more severe immune tolerance damage and Th17/Treg disorder. Monitoring of lymphocyte and CD4 + T cell subsets, particularly Treg cells, is crucial to understanding immune status in this group. Focusing on RA activity and CAD risk control, immune-regulatory therapy based on the Treg level may be more beneficial for RA patients with CAD. Abstract
The most fatal malignancy of the central nervous system (CNS) is glioblastoma. Brain cancer is a 'cold' tumor because of fewer immunoregulatory cells and more immunosuppressive cells. Due to the cold nature of brain cancers, conventional treatments which are used to manage glioma patients show little effectiveness. Glioma patients even showed resistance to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) and no significant efficacy. It has been shown that myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) account for approximately 30-50% of the tumor mass in glioma. This study aimed to review MDSC function in brain cancer, as well as possible treatments and related challenges. In brain cancer and glioma, several differences in the context of MDSCs have been reported, including disagreements about the MDSC subtype that has the most inhibitory function in the brain, or inhibitory function of regulatory B cells (Bregs). There are also serious challenges in treating glioma patients. In addition to the cold nature of glioma, there are reports of an increase in MDSCs following conventional chemotherapy treatments. As a result, targeting MDSCs in combination with other therapies, such as ICB, is essential, and recent studies with the combination therapy approach have shown promising therapeutic effects in brain cancer.

Abstract
Lung cancer is one of the leading causes of death among men and women worldwide. The disease initially has a silent phenotype, which leads to the progression of the disease and ultimately the lack of proper response to routine treatments. Autophagy, known as an intracellular "recycle bin" for the degradation of defective proteins and molecules, is one of the mechanisms that has been considered in the context of cancer in recent years. This study aims to provide a comprehensive review of published articles on autophagy in the context of lung cancer to have a complete view of the role of autophagy in lung cancer and its possible treatments. PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar were searched until June 15 to find related articles. No specific search filters or restrictions were applied. The results were entered into reference management software for aggregation and management. The full text of all articles was screened and studied. In conclusion, studies on the exact function of autophagy in lung cancer are contradictory, but what can be concluded from a review of literature on lung cancer is that targeting autophagy combined with traditional routine therapies such as chemotherapy, especially in advanced stages of lung cancer, can be an effective anticancer approach.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are important complications for patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The study aimed to explore whether serum leptin is associated with a increased risk of cardiovascular (CV) events in patients with RA. METHODS Two hundred twenty-three patients with RA were followed for a mean of 40 (range = 8-42) months. Serum leptin levels were measured at baseline. Cox regression analysis was performed to assess the association between leptin levels and the risk of CV events. RESULTS The univariate analysis showed that patients with RA with higher serum leptin levels had higher rates of CV events and CV mortality, respectively (P <.001). The logistic regression model showed that leptin was independently related to CVD history (odds ratio = 1.603, 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.329-2.195; P =.005) after adjusting for confounding factors in patients with RA at baseline. The multivariate Cox proportional hazard model suggested that leptin was an independent prognostic factor for CV events in patients with RA after adjustments were made for clinical confounding factors (hazard ratio = 2.467, 95% CI, 2.019-4.495; P <.001). The Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that compared with patients with RA with leptin levels below the median value (≤15.4 mg/L), patients with leptin above the median value (>15.4 μg/L) had a higher rate of CV events (P <.001). CONCLUSION Leptin was significantly associated with CV events in patients with RA. Elevated serum leptin levels may be a reliable prognostic factor for predicting CV complications in patients with RA.

Abstract
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a chronic and disabling autoimmune condition that is characterized by articular and extra-articular manifestations and a pro-inflammatory and pro-oxidant state, suffer from premature atherosclerosis and excessive cardiovascular disease burden. A key step in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis is impaired synthesis of the endogenous messenger nitric oxide (NO) by endothelial cells which, in turn, alters local homeostatic mechanisms and favors vascular damage and plaque deposition. While the exact mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction in RA remain to be established, there is good evidence that RA patients have relatively high circulating concentrations of the methylated arginine asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), a potent endogenous inhibitor of endothelial NO synthase (eNOS). This review discusses the biological and pathophysiological role of ADMA, the interplay between ADMA, inflammation and oxidative stress, and the available evidence on the adverse impact of ADMA on endothelial function and atherosclerosis and potential ADMA-lowering therapies in RA patients.

Abstract
Myeloid suppressor cells (MDSCs) are an important class of immune-regulating cells that can suppress T cell function. Most of our knowledge about the function of MDSC comes from studies of cancer models. Recent studies, however, have greatly contributed to the description of MDSC involvement in autoimmune diseases. They are known as a cell population that may negatively affect immune responses by regulating the function of CD4+ and CD8+ cells, which makes them an attractive target for autoimmune diseases therapy. However, many questions about MDSC activation, differentiation, and inhibitory functions remain unanswered. In this study, we have summarized the role of MDSCs in various autoimmune diseases, and the potential of targeting them for therapeutic benefits has been discussed.

Abstract
Cell-derived exosomes are identified as carriers of lipids, proteins, and genetic materials that participate in cell-cell signal communication, biological process, and cell signaling. Also, their involvement has been reported in a vast array of disorders and inflammatory conditions such as autoimmune diseases. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a common cause of joint disorder, is an inflammation-based disease in which the precise understanding of its pathogenesis needs to be further investigated. Also, there is only a palliative care approach for the alleviation of RA symptoms. This paper discusses the recent advances in the biology of exosomes in autoimmune disorders especially in RA, and also provides a new line of research for arthritis therapy using exosomes.

Abstract
Several studies have demonstrated that PM2.5 inhalation is associated with an increased risk of cerebrovascular disease (CVD), in which inflammation plays an important role. The mechanisms of this disease are not fully understood to date. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are involved in many pathophysiological processes, such as immune responses; however, their functions associated with inflammation are largely unexplored. High-throughput sequencing assay and obtained numerous lncRNAs that altered the expression in response to PM2.5 treatment in HUVECs. NONHSAT247851.1 was also identified, which was significantly up-regulated to control the expression of immune response genes. Mechanistically, the results indicated that NONHSAT247851.1 knockdown reduced the expression of IL1β. In study, we investigated NONHSAT247851.1 as a promoter in regulating immune response genes via binding with raf-1 to regulate the phosphorylation level of p65 protein in HUVECs. The data collected suggests that NONHSAT247851.1 regulates inflammation via interaction with raf-1 to control the inflammatory expression in PM2.5 exposure.

Abstract
The amino acid L-arginine serves as substrate for the nitric oxide synthase which is crucial in vascular function and disease. Derivatives of arginine, such as asymmetric (ADMA) and symmetric dimethylarginine (SDMA), are regarded as markers of endothelial dysfunction and have been implicated in vascular disorders. While there is a variety of studies consolidating ADMA as biomarker of cerebrovascular risk, morbidity and mortality, SDMA is currently emerging as an interesting metabolite with distinct characteristics in ischemic stroke. In contrast to dimethylarginines, homoarginine is inversely associated with adverse events and mortality in cerebrovascular diseases and might constitute a modifiable protective risk factor. This review aims to provide an overview of the current evidence for the pathophysiological role of arginine derivatives in cerebrovascular ischemic diseases. We discuss the complex mechanisms of arginine metabolism in health and disease and its potential clinical implications in diverse aspects of ischemic stroke.
