Abstract
Contamination with pesticides has inflicted substantial harm on human health; therefore, developing rapid, ultra-sensitive, and non-labelling simultaneous detection methods for multiple pesticides is necessary. In this study, we demonstrated that α-hemolysin (α-HL) nanopore sensor can detect and discriminate organophosphorus pesticides of phoxim and omethoate in a single nanopore without requiring labels of the probes or purification of the pesticides in real samples. Aptamers specifically recognise and bind pesticides to obtain pesticide-aptamer complexes that produce characteristic current signals while passing through the nanopore. Phoxim and omethoate were accurately distinguished by a portable instrument within minutes, and their detection sensitivity was up to the femtomole level, whether detected alone or simultaneously. The detection limits of phoxim and omethoate were 8.13 × 10-16 M and 4.16 × 10-15 M. The recoveries of phoxim and omethoate from pear, tomato, and cucumber samples were 82.0-107.0 % and 81.9-118.3 % respectively, with coefficient of variable below 8.0 %.

Abstract
The construction of a nanozyme-enzyme hybrid cascade system is an effective protocol to optimize the performance of biosensors. Yet, the integration has limitations due to the lack of harmonious collaboration between nanozyme and enzyme. Herein, we have constructed an efficient enzymatic cascade system by utilizing the base complementary pairing and the targeting capability of DNA tweezers to combine DNA-regulated copper nanoflowers (CuNFs) with acetylcholinesterase (AChE). The DNA tweezers were immobilized onto the CuNFs undergo regular base complementary pairing, and subsequently employed as aptamer to capture AChE gently, forming CuNFs-Apt-AChE cascade system. This system not only enhanced the spatial proximity of CuNFs and AChE to increase cascade catalytic activity, but also demonstrated excellent stability under harsh conditions. Harnessing the nanoarchitecture and characteristics, the CuNFs-Apt-AChE composites were embedded into the hydrogel to fabricate a sensitive biosensor for on-site detecting carbamate pesticides with a detection limit of 0.19 ng mL-1. The hydrogel sensor exhibited high specificity for carbamate pesticides and had been successfully applied in water and juice samples for pesticide detection with strong anti-interference ability. This method holds great potential for the on-site detection of pesticides, offering a new strategy for constructing nanozyme-enzyme cascade hybrid systems with accuracy and sensitivity.

Abstract
Aflatoxin B1 is highly mutagenic in humans, and long-term exposure can impair immunity and increase the risk of cancer. It is imperative to develop immunoassays with convenient operation and high sensitivity to detect aflatoxin B1. This study presents a polystyrene microcolumn-mediated magnetic relaxation switching immunosensor based on a tyramine signal amplification strategy for detecting aflatoxin B1. An environmentally friendly hand-held polystyrene microcolumn was designed as an effective immunoreaction carrier, remaining 91% efficiency after 12 repeated uses. And the microcolumn provides a user-friendly procedure for rapid separation and reagent switching within 3 s by simple stirring in solution. The combination of a strong anti-interference magnetic relaxation switching biosensing and an efficient tyramine signal amplification enables the quantitative detection of aflatoxin B1 in the range of 0.01-10 ng/mL, with a limit of detection of 0.006 ng/mL. This method has potential application in the rapid detection of trace food contaminants.

Abstract
The traditional magnetic relaxation switching (MRS) sensors have excellent sensitivity, but their stability is poor because the magnetic relaxation signal is easily affected by the external magnetic field or environmental oxidation. In this study, a highly stable hydrogel bead-based MRS (Gel-MRS) sensor was established for the accurate and sensitive detection of Cd2+ in rice. A pH-responsive hydrogel bead was applied as a core element for the target stimulus and transverse relaxation signal transduction. The stability experiments showed that the transverse relaxation time (T2) change of the Gel-MRS sensor was one-seventh that of traditional magnetic nanoparticles under an external magnetic field and less than a fifth that of Fe2+/Fe3+ conversion in air. The excellent stability was due to the fact that T2 of the Gel-MRS sensor came from the swelling system mediated by pH rather than the traditional aggregation/dispersion or Fe2+/Fe3+ conversion of magnetic nanoparticles. In addition, the target Cd2+ could exclusively trigger a pH response of the hydrogel beads, altering the T2, thus resulting in excellent relaxation properties (R2 = 56.89) and pH responsiveness of the Gel-MRS sensor. The swelling process of the hydrogel beads followed quasi-second-order dynamics. The Gel-MRS sensor demonstrated a remarkable limit of detection as low as 0.009 ng/mL for Cd2+, with a linear range of 0.01-5 ng/mL. The excellent stability and sensitivity made the Gel-MRS sensor have great application potential in food and environmental detection.

Abstract
In this study, a low field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR) homogeneous sensor was constructed for detection of Escherichia coli (E. coli) based on the copper metabolism of E. coli triggered click reaction. When live E. coli was present, a large amount of Cu2+ ions were transformed into Cu+ via copper metabolism, which then catalyzed a Cu+-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition (CuAAC) reaction between two materials, azide group modified gadolinium oxide nanorods (Gd2O3-Az) and PA-GO@Fe3O4 i.e., graphene oxide (GO) loaded with large amounts of alkynyl (PA) groups and Fe3O4 nanoparticles simultaneously. After magnetic separation, unbound Gd2O3-Az was dissolved by added hydrochloric acid (HCl) to generate homogeneous Gd3+ solution, enabling homogeneous detection of E. coli. Triple signal amplification was achieved through the CuAAC reaction induced by E. coli copper metabolism, functional nanomaterials, and HCl assisted homogeneous detection. Under the optimal experimental conditions, the linear range and limit of detection (LOD) for E. coli were 10-1.0 × 107 CFU/mL and 3.5 CFU/mL, respectively, and the relative standard deviations (RSDs) were all less than 2.8 %. In addition, the sensor has satisfactory selectivity, stability and practical sample application capability, providing a new approach for the LF-NMR detection of food-borne pathogenic bacteria.

Abstract
To address the relatively low sensitivity of current redox reagent-mediated magnetic relaxation sensing methods, we present a novel Ag+-mediated magnetic sensing platform that enhances the sensitivity by three orders of magnitude. The new sensing platform is based on Ag+-catalyzed oxidation of Mn2+ to KMnO4, accompanied by a distinct color change, which facilitates colorimetric detection. In the case of insufficient Ag+ ions, MnO2 is an additional oxidation product and the KMnO4/MnO2 ratio is dependent on the concentration of Ag+. When combined with a specific quantity of reducing agent, both KMnO4 and MnO2 are reduced to Mn2+ with a large relaxivity, and the concentration of Mn2+ in the resultant solution inversely correlates with the amount of KMnO4 since KMnO4 consumes more reductant during reduction. Consequently, the transverse relaxation rate of the solution exhibits a negative correlation with the Ag+ concentration. Thus, by coupling this Ag+-mediated Mn2+ to KMnO4 transformation with reactions that modulate Ag+ concentration, a dual-mode sensing platform for magnetic relaxation and colorimetry can be realized. Herein, we take H2O2 as an example to verify the detection performance of this sensing platform since H2O2 can oxidize Ag0 in Ag@Fe3O4 nanoparticles to Ag+. Experimental findings demonstrate detection limits of 10 nM and 20 nM for the magnetic relaxation and colorimetry modes, respectively, affirming the excellent sensitivity and the potential practical application of this strategy.

Abstract
Metal oxide nanozymes are emerging as promising materials for food safety detection, offering several advantages over natural enzymes, including superior stability, cost-effectiveness, large-scale production capability, customisable functionality, design options, and ease of modification. Optical biosensors based on metal oxide nanozymes have significantly accelerated the advancement of analytical research, facilitating the rapid, effortless, efficient, and precise detection and characterisation of contaminants in food. However, few reviews have focused on the application of optical biosensors based on metal oxide nanozymes for food safety detection. In this review, the catalytic mechanisms of the catalase, oxidase, peroxidase, and superoxide dismutase activities of metal oxide nanozymes are characterized. Research developments in optical biosensors based on metal oxide nanozymes, including colorimetric, fluorescent, chemiluminescent, and surface-enhanced Raman scattering biosensors, are comprehensively summarized. The application of metal oxide nanozyme-based biosensors for the detection of nitrites, sulphites, metal ions, pesticides, antibiotics, antioxidants, foodborne pathogens, toxins, and other food contaminants has been highlighted. Furthermore, the challenges and future development prospects of metal oxide nanozymes for sensing applications are discussed. This review offers insights and inspiration for further investigations on optical biosensors based on metal oxide nanozymes for food safety detection.

Abstract
UDP-glucose is a key metabolite in carbohydrate metabolism and plays a vital role in glycosyl transfer reactions. Its significance spans across the food and agricultural industries. This study focuses on UDP-glucose synthesis via multienzyme catalysis using dextrin, incorporating UTP production and ATP regeneration modules to reduce costs. To address thermal stability limitations of the key UDP-glucose pyrophosphorylase (UGP), a deep learning-based protein sequence design approach and ancestral sequence reconstruction are employed to engineer a thermally stable UGP variant. The engineered UGP variant is significantly 500-fold more thermally stable at 60 °C and has a half-life of 49.8 h compared to the wild-type enzyme. MD simulations and umbrella sampling calculations provide insights into the mechanism behind the enhanced thermal stability. Experimental validation demonstrates that the engineered UGP variant can produce 52.6 mM UDP-glucose within 6 h in an in vitro cascade reaction. This study offers practical insights for efficient UDP-glucose synthesis methods.

Abstract
Umami substances play a significant role in the evaluation of food quality, and their synergistic enhancement is of great importance in improving and intensifying food flavors and tastes. Current biosensors available for umami detection still confront challenges in simultaneous quantification of multiple umami substances and umami intensities. In this study, an innovative dual-channel magnetic relaxation switching taste biosensor (D-MRSTB) was developed for the quantitative detection of representative umami substances. The multienzyme signal of D-MRSTB specifically catalyzes the umami substances of interest to generate hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), which is then used to oxidate Fe2+ to Fe3+. Such a valence-state transition of paramagnetic ions was utilized as a magnetic relaxation signaling switch to influence the transverse magnetic relaxation time (T2) within the reaction milieu, thus achieving simultaneous detection of monosodium glutamate (MSG) and inosine 5'-monophosphate (IMP). The biosensor showed good linearity (R2 > 0.99) in the concentration range of 50-1000 and 10-1000 μmol/L, with limits of detection (LOD) of 0.61 and 0.09 μmol/L for MSG and IMP, respectively. Furthermore, the biosensor accurately characterized the synergistic effect of the mixed solution of IMP and MSG, where ΔT2 showed a good linear relationship with the equivalent umami concentration (EUC) of the mixed solution (R2 = 0.998). Moreover, the D-MRSTB successfully achieved the quantitative detection of umami compounds in real samples. This sensing technology provides a powerful tool for achieving the detection of synergistic enhancement among umami compounds and demonstrates its potential for application in the food industry.

Abstract
A 96-well plate-based low-field nuclear magnetic resonance (LF-NMR)/colorimetric dual-mode homogeneous immunosensor was developed for the detection of pathogen bacteria, using Vibrio parahaemolyticus (VP) as a detection template. The signal unit MNS@Ab2 is graphene oxide (GO) simultaneously loaded with VP antibody and Fe3O4 nanoparticles. A 96-well plate coated with VP antibody captures the target VP, which then binds the signal unit to form the immunocomplex. After acidolysed, Fe3O4 nanoparticles are transformed into Fe3+ and Fe2+, so the non-homogeneous system is transformed into a homogeneous one. The addition of KMnO4 can not only convert Fe2+ into Fe3+ but also provide Mn2+, improving the detection sensitivity. And, colorimetric analysis can be achieved by the quantitative reduction of KMnO4. Under the optimal experimental conditions, the limit of detection was 60 CFU/mL with good selectivity, stability, precision, accuracy, and consistency, providing a simple and reliable detection platform for pathogenic bacteria in food.

Abstract
An NiPt nanozyme-mediated relaxation and colorimetric sensor is developed for dual-modality detection of norovirus (NoV). The relaxation modality is based on the "catalase-like" activity of the NiPt nanozyme, which adjusts the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) mediated Fe (II)/Fe(III) conversion, thereby changing the relaxation signal. Poly-γ-glutamic acid (MW ≈ 1w) can enhance the relaxivity of Fe(III) (r1 = 7.11 mM-1 s-1; r2 = 8.94 mM-1 s-1). The colorimetric modality exploits the "peroxidase-like" activity of the NiPt nanozyme, which can catalyze the oxidation of colorless 3, 3', 5, 5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) to blue oxTMB in H2O2. Under optimal conditions, the relaxation modality exhibits a wide working range (1.0 × 101-1.0 × 104 fM) and a limit of detection (LOD) of 4.7 fM (equivalent to 2820 copies/μL). The spiked recoveries range from 99.593 to 106.442 %, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) is less than 5.124 %. The colorimetric modality exhibited the same working range with a lower LOD of 2.9 fM (equivalent to 1740 copies/μL) and an RSD of less than 2.611 %. Additionally, the recombinase polymerase amplification reaction enabled the detection of low NoV levels in food samples with a working range of 102-106 copies/mL and LOD of 102 copies/mL. The accuracy of the sensor in the analysis of spiked samples is consistent with the gold standard method (real-time quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction), demonstrating the high accuracy and practical utility of the sensor.

Abstract
Ethephon (ETH), a commonly employed growth regulator, poses potential health risks due to its residue in fruits and vegetables, leading to both acute and subchronic toxicity. However, the detection accuracy of ETH is compromised by the color effects of the samples during the detection process. In this work, a multienzyme reaction-mediated electrochemical biosensor (MRMEC) was developed for the sensitive, rapid, and color-interference-resistant determination of ETH. Nanozymes Fe3O4@Au-Pt and graphene nanocomplexes (GN-Au NPs) were prepared as catalysts and signal amplifiers for MRMEC. Acetylcholinesterase (AChE), acetylcholine (ACh), and choline oxidase (CHOx) form a cascade enzyme reaction to produce H2O2 in an electrolytic cell. Fe3O4@Au-Pt has excellent peroxidase-like activity and can catalyze the oxidation of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethvlbenzidine (TMB) in the presence of H2O2, resulting in a decrease in the characteristic peak current of TMB. Based on the inhibitory effect of ETH on AChE, the differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) current signal of TMB was used to detect ETH, offering the limit of detection (LOD) of 2.01 nmol L-1. The MRMEC method effectively analyzed ETH levels in mangoes, showing satisfactory precision (coefficient of variations, 2.88-15.97%) and recovery rate (92.18-110.72%). This biosensor holds promise for detecting various organophosphorus pesticides in food samples.

Abstract
Neonicotinoid insecticides (NEOs) are a new class of neurotoxic pesticides primarily used for pest control on fruits and vegetables, cereals, and other crops after organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs), carbamate pesticides (CBPs), and pyrethroid pesticides. However, chronic abuse and illegal use have led to the contamination of food and water sources as well as damage to ecological and environmental systems. Long-term exposure to NEOs may pose potential risks to animals (especially bees) and even human health. Consequently, it is necessary to develop effective, robust, and rapid methods for NEOs detection. Specific recognition-based chemical sensing has been regarded as one of the most promising detection tools for NEOs due to their excellent selectivity, sensitivity, and robust interference resistance. In this review, we introduce the novel recognition strategies-enabled chemical sensing in food neonicotinoids detection in the past years (2017-2023). The properties and advantages of molecular imprinting recognition (MIR), host-guest recognition (HGR), electron-catalyzed recognition (ECR), immune recognition (IR), aptamer recognition (AR), and enzyme inhibition recognition (EIR) in the development of NEOs sensing platforms are discussed in detail. Recent applications of chemical sensing platforms in various food products, including fruits and vegetables, cereals, teas, honey, aquatic products, and others are highlighted. In addition, the future trends of applying chemical sensing with specific recognition strategies for NEOs analysis are discussed.

Abstract
A simple and effective graphene oxide-magnetic relaxation switch (GO-MRS) sensor that combines graphene oxide (GO) and aptamer-modified poly-L-lysine(PLL)-Fe3O4 nanoparticles (Fe3O4@PLL-Apt NPs) was designed for the detection of acetamiprid (ACE). In this sensor, Fe3O4@PLL-Apt NPs acted as a relaxation signal probe and GO facilitated the generation of relaxation signal changes (dispersion/aggregation shift), while the aptamer is a molecular component that recognizes ACE. This GO-assisted magnetic signal probe improves the stability of magnetic nanoparticles in solution and enhances their sensitivity to small molecules while avoiding cross-reactions. Under optimal conditions, the sensor exhibits a wide working range (10-80 nM) and low detection limit (8.43 nM). The spiked recoveries ranged from 96.54 to 103.17%, with a relative standard deviation (RSD) of less than 2.3%. In addition, the performance of the GO-MRS sensor matched that of the standard method (liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)), indicating that the GO-MRS sensor is suitable for the detection of ACE in vegetables.

Abstract
Cost-effective and user-friendly quantitation at points-of-need plays an important role in food safety inspection, environmental monitoring, and biomedical analysis. This study reports a stand-alone smartphone-based fluorospectrophotometer (the SBS) installed with a custom-designed application (the SBS-App) for on-site quantitation of pesticide using a ratiometric sensing scheme. The SBS can collect fluorescence emission spectra in the wavelength range of 380-760 nm within 5 s. A ratiometric fluorescence probe is facilely prepared by directly mixing the blue-emissive carbon nanodots (the Fe3+-specific fluorometric indicator) and red-emissive quantum dots (the internal standard) at a ratio of 11.6 (w/w). Based on the acetylcholinesterase/choline oxidase dual enzyme-mediated cascade catalytic reactions of Fe2+/Fe3+ transformation, a ratiometric fluorescence sensing scheme is developed. The practicability of the SBS is validated by on-site quantitation of chlorpyrifos in apple and cabbage with a comparable accuracy to the GC-MS method, offering a scalable solution to establish a cost-effective surveillance system for pesticide pollution.

Abstract
Herein, a novel magnetic relaxation sensing strategy based on the change in Fe3+ content has been proposed by utilizing the conversion of Fe3+ ions to Prussian blue (PB) precipitates. Compared with the common detection approach based on the valence state change of Fe3+ ions, our strategy can cause a larger change in the relaxation time of water protons and higher detection sensitivity since PB precipitate can induce a larger change in the Fe3+ ion concentration and has a weaker effect on the relaxation process of water protons relative to Fe2+ ions. Then, we employ alkaline phosphatase (ALP) as a model target to verify the feasibility and detection performance of the as-proposed strategy. Actually, ascorbic acid (AA) generated from the ALP-catalyzed L-ascorbyl-2-phosphate hydrolysis reaction can reduce potassium ferricyanide into potassium ferrocyanide, and potassium ferrocyanide reacts with Fe3+ to form PB precipitates, leading to a higher relaxation time. Under optimum conditions, the method for ALP detection has a wide linear range from 5 to 230 mU/mL, and the detection limit is 0.28 mU/mL, sufficiently demonstrating the feasibility and satisfactory analysis performance of this strategy, which opens up a new path for the construction of magnetic relaxation sensors. Abstract
Although all countries have been controlling the excessive use of pesticides, incidents of pesticide residues still existed. Electrochemical biosensors are extensively applied detection techniques to monitor pesticides with the help of different types of biorecognition components mainly including, antibodies, aptamers, enzymes (i.e., acetylcholinesterase, organophosphorus hydrolase, etc.), and synthetic molecularly imprinted polymers. Besides, the electrode materials mainly affected the sensitivity of electrochemical biosensors. Metallic nanomaterials with various structures and excellent electrical conductivity were desirable choice to construct electrochemical platforms to achieve the detection with high sensitivity and good specificity toward the target. This work reviewed the developed metallic materials including monometallic nanoparticles, bimetallic nanomaterials, metal atoms, metal oxides, metal molybdates, metal-organic frameworks, MXene, etc. Integration of recognition elements endowed the electrode materials with higher specificity toward the target pesticide. Besides, future challenges of metallic nanomaterials-based electrochemical biosensors for the detection of pesticides are also discussed and described.

Abstract
In multienzymes cascade reaction, the inter-enzyme spacing is supposed to be a factor affecting the cascade activity. Here, a simple and efficient Y-shaped DNA scaffold is assembled using two partially complementary DNA single strands on magnetic microspheres, which is used to coimmobilize glucose oxidase (GOD) and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). As a result, on poly(vinyl acetate) magnetic microspheres (PVAC), GOD/HRP-DNA@PVAC multienzyme system is obtained, which can locate GOD and HRP accurately and control the inter-enzyme distance precisely. The distance between GOD and HRP is regulated by changing the length of DNA strand. It showed that the cascade activity is significantly distance-dependent. Moreover, the inter-enzyme spacing is not the closer the better, and too short distance would generate steric hindrance between enzymes. The cascade activity reached the maximum value of 967 U mg-1 at 13.6 nm, which is 3.5 times higher than that of free enzymes. This is ascribed to the formation of substrate channeling.

Abstract
In this study, we developed a novel, rapid, simple, and sensitive nano sensor based on the controlled release of 4-Aminothiophenol (4-ATP) signal molecules from aptamers (Apts) modified aminated mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs-NH2) for the quantitative detection of acetamiprid (ACE). Firstly, we synthesized the positively charged MSNs-NH2 by one-pot method, then loaded 4-ATP signal molecules into the pore, and finally electrostatically adsorbed the Apts onto the MSNs-NH2, which acts as a gate to control the release of signal molecules. When ACE is added to the system, ACE preferentially and specifically binds to Apts, so the gate opens and 4-ATP signal molecules are released from the pore. Meanwhile, the silver-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles (Ag@SiO2) were prepared by one-pot method as surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) substrate to amplify the signal. The intensity of 4-ATP signal molecules at 1433 cm-1 position was observed to has a linear relationship with the concentration of ACE by SERS detection. Under the optimized detection conditions, a linear correlation was observed in the range of 5-60 ng/mL (R2 = 0.99749), and the limit of detection (LOD) was 2.66 ng/mL. The method has high sensitivity, good selectivity and reproducibility, and can be used for actual sample analysis with the recovery rate of 96.24-103.6 %. This study provides a reference for the rapid and convenient detection of ACE in agricultural products.

Abstract
Throughout the food supply chain, including production, storage, and distribution, food can be contaminated by harmful chemicals and microorganisms, resulting in a severe threat to human health. In recent years, the rapid advancement and development of nanotechnology proposed revolutionary solutions to solve several problems in scientific and industrial areas, including food monitoring. Nanotechnology can be incorporated into chemical and biological sensors to improve analytical performance, such as response time, sensitivity, selectivity, reliability, and accuracy. Based on the characteristics of the contaminants and the detection methods, nanotechnology can be applied in different ways in order to improve conventional techniques. Nanomaterials such as nanoparticles, nanorods, nanosheets, nanocomposites, nanotubes, and nanowires provide various functions for the immobilization and labeling of contaminants in electrochemical and optical detection. This review summarizes the recent advances in nanotechnology for detecting chemical and biological contaminations in the food supply chain.

Abstract
In this study, we designed a magnetic relaxation switch (MRS) sensor combined with magnetophoresis technology (MS-MRS), which helps solve the problems of traditional MRS sensors. The sensor is based on a new combined magnet and is composed of small magnetic blocks and iron sheets that can rapidly separate magnetic nanoparticles of different sizes within 5 min. The MS-MRS sensor consists of aptamer-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (diameter: 200 nm) (MNP200-Apt), complementary DNA-functionalized magnetic nanoparticles (diameter: 20 nm) (MNP20-cDNA), and a combined magnet ("M2" magnet). The MNP200-Apt probe could be separated by an "M2" magnet but the MNP20-cDNA probe could not. To further improve the sensitivity of the sensor, we successfully constructed an MS-MRS-Hg sensor based on the "T-Hg(II)-T" specific recognition that aggregated MNP20-cDNA probes to amplify the relaxation signal. The detection working range of the MS-MRS sensor is 0.5-100 ng/mL and that of the MS-MRS-Hg sensor is 0.05-100 ng/mL. Their limit of detection (LOD) values are 0.15 and 0.01 ng/mL, respectively. The relative recoveries of the MS-MRS and MS-MRS-Hg sensors are 95.2-119.5% and 93.1-113.1%, respectively. These results indicate that the proposed sensors have a high accuracy level.

Abstract
A simple and novel method for the determination of acetamiprid in water samples is suggested. The method is based on the reducing effect of acetamiprid on the chemiluminescence intensity of new sulfur and nitrogen co-doped carbon dots (S, N-CQDs) in an acetonitrile-hydrogen peroxide (CH3CN-H2O2) system. The possible mechanism was investigated, and it was found that S, N-CQDs react with (1O2)2*, produced from the CH3CN-H2O2 reaction, leading to excited state S, N-CQDs, which deactivate to the ground state by photon emission. Acetamiprid diminishes the chemiluminescence (CL) intensity by competing with S, N-CQDs. The CL intensity reduction is proportional to the concentration of acetamiprid. S, N-CQDs were easily prepared by a hydrothermal method. Under the optimal conditions, a linear range of 2.5 - 25.0 μg L-1 with a detection limit (3σ) of 0.4 μg L-1 was obtained. This method was successfully applied to the determination of trace amounts of residual pesticides in water samples.

Abstract
Highly sensitive detection of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is of great significance because of its high toxicity and carcinogenesis. We propose a magnetic relaxation sensing method based on gold nanoparticles (Au NPs)-assisted triple self-assembly cascade signal amplification for highly sensitive detection of AFB1. Both AFB1 antibody and initiator DNA (iDNA) are labeled on Au NPs to form Ab-Au-iDNA probe. iDNA is enriched by Au NPs to achieve first signal amplification. Different amounts of Ab-Au-iDNA were bound with AFB1 antigen by indirect competitive immunoassay, and then hybridization chain reaction event was initiated by iDNA to produce long hybridization chain reaction products to enrich more horseradish peroxidase-streptavidin for the second signal amplification. Dopamine could be rapidly converted to polydopamine by HRP catalysis, which is used as the third signal amplification. The Fe3+ solution, providing paramagnetic ions with a strong magnetic signal, could be adsorbed by the polydopamine due to the formation of coordination bonds of phenolic hydroxyl groups with Fe3+. This effective interaction between polydopamine and Fe3+ significantly changes the transverse relaxation time signal of Fe3+ supernatant solution, which can be used as a magnetic probe for highly sensitive detection of AFB1. The sensor exhibited high specificity and sensitivity with a detection limit of 0.453 pg/mL owing to the Au NP-assisted triple self-assembly cascade signal amplification strategy. It has been successfully employed for AFB1 detection in animal feed samples with consistent results of enzyme linked immune sorbent assay and high-performance liquid chromatography.

Abstract
Resistant pollutants like oil, grease, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and plastics in wastewater are difficult to be degraded by traditional activated sludge methods. These pollutants are prevalent, posing a great threat to aquatic environments and organisms since they are toxic, resistant to natural biodegradation, and create other serious problems. As a high-efficiency biocatalyst, enzymes are proposed for the treatment of these resistant pollutants. This review focused on the roles and applications of enzymes in wastewater treatment. It discusses the influence of enzyme types and their sources, enzymatic processes in resistant pollutants remediation, identification and ecotoxicity assay of enzymatic transformation products, and typically employed enzymatic wastewater treatment systems. Perspectives on the major challenges and feasible future research directions of enzyme-based wastewater treatment are also proposed.

Abstract
Nanozymes own striking merits, including high enzyme-mimicking activity, good stability, and low cost. Due to the powerful and distinguished functions, nanozymes exhibit widespread applications in the field of biosensing and immunoassay, attracting researchers in various fields to design and engineer nanozymes. Recently, nanozymes have been innovatively used to bridge nanotechnology with analytical techniques to achieve the high sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility. However, the applications of nanozymes in food applications are seldom reviewed. In this review, we summarize several typical nanozymes and provide a comprehensive description of the history, principles, designs, and applications of nanozyme-based analytical techniques in food contaminants detection. Based on engineering and modification of nanozymes, the food contaminants are classified and then discussed in detail via discriminating the roles of nanozymes in various analytical methods, including fluorescence, colorimetric and electrochemical assay, surface-enhanced Raman scattering, magnetic relaxing sensing, and electrochemiluminescence. Further, representative examples of nanozymes-based methods are highlighted for contaminants analysis and inhibition. Finally, the current challenges and prospects of nanozymes are discussed.

Abstract
Herein, a new double-enzymes-modulated fluorescent assay based on the quenching of upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) by Fe3+ was constructed for sensitive determination of OPs. OPs can inhibit the activity of acetylcholinesterase to reduce the production of choline and further lead to the lack of H2O2 in the presence of choline oxidase. Therefore, Fe2+ cannot be converted into Fe3+, resulting in "turn-on" fluorescence of UCNPs. Under optimal conditions, an excellent linear correlation between the inhibition efficiency and the logarithm of the chlorpyrifos concentration was achieved with a detection limit (LOD) of 6.7 ng/mL in the range of 20-2000 ng/mL. The recovery for chlorpyrifos in apples and cucumbers was 89.5-97.1%. The results were consistent with those obtained by GC-MS. Overall, the integration of UCNPs into the double-enzymes-mediated Fe3+/Fe2+ conversion endows this method with desirable rapidity, sensitivity, selectivity, stability, operational simplicity, and strong anti-interference capability, holding great potential in the application of food safety.
