Abstract
Simple Summary During the first stage of an animal’s life, various physiological alterations with the concomitant development of different body organs occur. This period is also accompanied by different kinds of stressors, including, but not limited to, the stress of weaning, metabolic change, and peri-puberty changes in reproductive functions. Shiba goats, the main goat breed in Japan, are not commonly used as food animals. However, male Shiba goats largely contribute to reproductive and cardiology research activities, as well as being used for educational purposes for elementary school children. The physiological data regarding laboratory measurements in Shiba goats are lacking, especially at a young age. In this study, we investigated the age-related changes in hematology, plasma mineral concentrations, hormones, and oxidative stress markers during the first five months (neonatal and peri-puberty age) in male Shiba goats. Abstract From a clinical point of view, the establishment of laboratory variables during the first few months of an animal’s life helps clinicians to make sure they base their medical decisions on laboratory values for the specific breed and age group. The present study aimed to investigate the monthly dynamics in some plasma elements, hematology, reproductive hormones, and oxidative stress marker profiles during the first five months of age (neonatal and peri-puberty stage) in male Shiba goat’s kids. Sixteen kids were investigated from the first to the fifth month (M1 to M5), and the data were presented as the statistical difference between them. Whole blood and plasma samples were collected monthly for analysis of basal hematology, plasma elements concentration (trace elements: Cu, Zn, Se, Fe, and Cr; macroelements: Ca and Mg), circulating hormones (cortisol, FSH, LH, IGF1, immunoreactive inhibin, testosterone, T3, and T4), and oxidative stress markers (MDA, CAT, SOD, and GPX). The results showed age-related changes in the observed parameters. The fifth month recorded the lowest level of almost all investigated minerals, except for Cr. Plasma hormone levels revealed age-dependent increases in IGF-1 and testosterone, age-related decreases in T3 and T4, and non-significant changes in cortisol and FSH. Besides, the concentrations of inhibin and LH were significantly higher at M1–M3 compared with M4–M5. Plasma SOD, GPX, and CAT were increased with age. In conclusion, age-related changes and a distinction of age in months was found necessary to interpret the laboratory results, specifically in terms of age in months and the peri-puberty stage in young goats, which are important to follow up the age-specific diseases, reproductive status, and treatment follow-ups in this stage.

Abstract
Zinc plays a major role in skin integrity, which can be affected by dromedary camels' hard life conditions. Deficiencies in some trace elements especially in zinc can explain susceptibility of this species to skin diseases. Compared with ruminants, camel is already known for his relatively low zincemia. In order to assess dromedary camels' skin zinc content, the present study was carried out in several provinces located in the south of Morocco where camel skin diseases are commonly observed. Zinc content in dromedary camel skin was determined using for the first time laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), method considered so far quick and simple with few or no sample processing. Collected data showed that zinc skin contents ranged between 115 ± 60 (for external side) and 94 ± 82 ppm (for internal side) with significant variability according to animals and to skin layers (external side versus internal side). Zinc skin content decreased from external to internal layers. Such preliminary results could be used to compare skin zinc nutritional level in healthy camels with those affected by skin diseases.

Abstract
Iberian ibex (Capra pyrenaica) blood samples from the Sierra Nevada Natural Park (Spain) were analyzed to establish concentrations of toxic and essential elements. Samples (whole blood from 32 males and 34 females) were taken from wild animals and the concentrations of inorganic elements considered as (1) non-essential and toxic (Pb, Cd and As), (2) essential but potentially toxic (Cu, Zn and Mn) and (3) occasionally beneficial (B, Cr, Al and Ni), as well as (4) essential minerals (Ca, Na, K, P, Mg, S, Co and Fe), were analyzed. The low concentration of Pb and Cd indicated that there is no heavy metal contamination in this geographical area for these elements. The concentration of elements in this ibex population was defined for different genders and ages. Significant differences between genders were only found for Mg and Cu, while significant differences in concentrations of Ca, Cr, Fe, Mn, P, S and Zn were found between ages.

Abstract
Trace elements such as Zinc (Zn), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), and selenium (Se) are essential for male fertility. The fertilizing capacity of most animals reduced with advancing age. The objective of the present work was to determine the serum and testicular levels of Zn, Cu, and Se in young (10 months old) and old (30 months old) rabbits. Blood and testicular samples were obtained from rabbits after their slaughter. All samples were digested by concentrated acids and analyzed for trace elements by flame emission atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results showed that serum Zn and Cu were lower in old rabbits than young (P < 0.01). Serum Se was higher in old than young rabbits (P < 0.05). Testicular Cu and Se were significantly lower in old than young rabbits (P < 0.01). However, Zn level was higher in old compared to young rabbits (P < 0.01). The serum Zn and Se were higher than the testicular levels (P < 0.01). The testicular Cu in both ages was higher than the serum level (P < 0.01), which suggest a very important role for Cu in the process of spermatogenesis in rabbits.
