Abstract
OBJECTIVE This meta-review aimed to investigate the prevalence of low back pain (LBP) in professional drivers. STUDY DESIGN This study is a meta-analysis. METHODS PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Web of Science were searched for cross-sectional studies on the prevalence of LBP in professional drivers up to August 2023. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality was utilized for cross-sectional analytical studies. Statistical analysis of the included outcome indicators was conducted using Stata 16.0. The prevalence of LBP among professional drivers was measured using the random effects model, and heterogeneity was evaluated utilizing subgroup analysis. This meta-analysis review was registered with PROSPERO on April 28, 2023, under the registration number CRD42023422205. RESULTS In total, 1, 558 results met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and 53 studies were included. The meta-analysis results indicated that professional drivers had a LBP prevalence of 35.0%, 95%CI (0.266, 0.433) for one week, 33.80%, 95%CI (0.233, 0.443) for one month, and 55.30%, 95%CI (0.503,0.603) for one year. In the global population of professional drivers, the prevalence of LBP was 56.0%, 95%CI (0.472, 0.648) and 54.5%, 95%CI (0.488, 0.602) without and with a history and high risk of LBP, respectively. CONCLUSIONS LBP remains prevalent among international drivers and has multiple contributing factors, highlighting the urgent need for increased awareness and prevention strategies.

Abstract
This study aimed to explore the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) and to investigate factors associated with WMSDs in commercial motorcyclists in Indonesia. This cross-sectional study involved commercial motorcyclists operating in Indonesia. Data were collected using an anonymous questionnaire, including the Indonesian Version of the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire, occupational driving posture questionnaire, and occupational factor-related questions. The questionnaire was distributed at four rest stops located in Central Jakarta, Indonesia. The result showed that 40% of participants (129/322) were having WMSDs. Older age, overweight body mass index (BMI), obese body mass index, nonregular physical activity, driving duration (> 8 h/day), seniority (≥5 years), and poor driving posture were significant risk factors for WMSDs in commercial motorcyclists. Based on the risk factors identified in this study, the development of preventive strategies among commercial motorcyclists is warranted.

Abstract
Objective This study aimed to implement a digital therapeutics-based approach based on motion detection technology and analyze the clinical results for patients with chronic low back pain (LBP). Methods A prospective, single-arm clinical trial was conducted with 22 patients who performed mobile app-based sitting core twist exercise for 12 weeks. Clinical outcomes were assessed using the visual analog scale (VAS) for LBP, Oswestry Disability Index-Korean version (K-ODI), and EuroQol-5 dimension 5-level version (EQ-5D-5L) every 4 weeks after the initiation of treatment. Laboratory tests for factors associated with muscle metabolism, plain X-ray for evaluating sagittal balance, and magnetic resonance imaging for calculating cross-sectional area (CSA) of back muscles were performed at pretreatment and 12 weeks post-treatment. Results The study population included 20 female patients with an average age of 45.77 ± 15.45 years. The clinical outcomes gradually improved throughout the study period in the VAS for LBP (from 6.05 ± 2.27 to 2.86 ± 1.86), K-ODI (from 16.18 ± 6.19 to 8.64 ± 5.58), and EQ-5D-5L (from 11.09 ± 3.24 to 7.23 ± 3.89) (p < 0.001, respectively). The laboratory test results did not show significant changes. Pelvic incidence (from 53.99 ± 9.70° to 50.80 ± 9.20°, p = 0.002) and the mismatch between pelvic incidence and lumbar lordosis (from 8.97± .67° to 5.28 ± 8.57°, p = 0.027) decreased significantly. Additionally, CSA of erector spinae and total back muscles increased by 5.20% (p < 0.001) and 3.08% (p = 0.013), respectively. Conclusions The results of this study suggest that the efficacy of digital therapy-based lumbar core exercise for LBP is favorable. However, further large-scale randomized controlled studies are necessary.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To determine a methodology for the analysis of real-time driving posture data in the low back pain population. BACKGROUND The strength of the relationship between driving posture and low back pain is yet to be defined due to the lack of studies in the field using validated and repeatable posture measurement tools. Reliable and validated real-time measurement tools are now available, yet reliable methods of analysis of these data are yet to be established. METHOD Ten occupational drivers completed a typical work shift while wearing an inertial motion sensor system (dorsaVi ViMove). Real-time lumbar flexion data were extracted, with test-retest reliability of mean lumbar flexion, peak lumbar flexion, and standard deviation of lumbar flexion analysed at different times across a work shift, and in different sections within a drive. RESULTS Mean lumbar flexion was highly repeatable over numerous drives in one day, with greater test-retest reliability if the first five minutes of driving data were excluded. Peak lumbar flexion had acceptable test-retest reliability over numerous drives in one day, while standard deviation of lumbar flexion was not a repeatable measure. CONCLUSION Mean lumbar flexion was a reliable outcome for characterising driving posture in drivers with low back pain. Peak lumbar flexion may be used if appropriate to the individual study. Standard deviation of lumbar flexion is not a reliable posture outcome. APPLICATION This paper provides a reliable methodology for analysis of real-time driving posture data in occupational drivers with low back pain.

Abstract
Cardiovascular risk factors and diseases are the most prevalent health conditions in train drivers. A comparative cross-sectional study was carried out to estimate the prevalence of some cardiovascular risk factors among train drivers. A pre-designed questionnaire was used to collect socio-demographic and occupational data. Physical activity and dietary habits were assessed, psychological distress was measured. Out of 100 recruited train drivers, 62% had obesity, 46% were hypertensive, 72.8% had dyslipidemia, and 71% had mild and/or moderate level of psychological distress. Being a train driver is independently associated with the likelihood of having obesity (AOR = 14.2) and psychological distress (AOR = 6.6). The prevalence of various cardiovascular risk factors was significantly higher among train drivers than the comparison group. Being a train driver is independently associated with obesity and psychological distress.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Low back pain (LBP) is a common condition contributing to impaired quality of life among professional vehicle drivers. Our study aimed to assess LBP prevalence and associated factors among professional bus drivers in Bangladesh. METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted among 368 professional bus drivers using a semi-structured questionnaire. A Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) subscale was used to measure LBP. Multivariable logistic regression analysis was used to identify the factors associated with LBP. RESULTS In the last month, 127 (34.51%) participants reported experiencing pain or discomfort in the lower backside. Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that age of more than 40 years (adjusted odds ratio (aOR): 2.07, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.14 to 3.75), the income of more than 15,000 BDT per month (aOR: 1.91, 95% CI: 1.11 to 3.26), work duration more than ten years (aOR: 2.53, 95% CI: 1.12 to 5.70), working more than 15 days per month (aOR: 1.93, 95% CI: 1.02 to 3.65), working more than 10 h per day (aOR: 2.46, 95% CI: 1.05 to 5.75), poor condition of the driving seat (aOR: 1.80, 95% CI: 1.08 to 3.02), current smoking habit (aOR: 9.71, 95% CI: 1.25 to 75.15), illicit substances use (aOR: 1.97, 95% CI: 1.11 to 3.48), and four hours or less sleeping time per day (aOR: 1.83, 95% CI: 1.09 to 3.06) were positively associated with LBP. CONCLUSION The high burden of LBP among the participants calls for a focus on this vulnerable group's occupational health and safety, with particular emphasis on implementing standard measures.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to assess the prevalence of low back pain and associated factors among professional taxi drivers. DESIGN Community-based cross-sectional study. SETTING AND PARTICIPANTS A Modified Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire was used to collect data. Through a simple random sampling technique, 371 taxi drivers were selected in Gondar City, Ethiopia. DATA ANALYSIS SPSS V.22 was used for data analysis. Bivariable and multivariable logistic regression analyses were used to identify the factors associated with low back pain. A p value less than 0.05 and an adjusted odds ratio (AOR) with 95% CI were used to declare statistical significance. RESULT A total of 371 respondents, with a response rate of 95.4%, have participated. The past 1 year and week's prevalence of low back pain among taxi drivers was 85.7% (95% CI 82.5 to 89.2) and 53.4% (95% Cl 48.0 to 58.5), respectively. Overweight/obese (AOR=0.33, 95% CI (0.14 to 0.80)), alcohol drinking (AOR=4.77, 95% CI (1.16 to 19.5)), job dissatisfaction (AOR=4.58, 95% CI (1.39 to 15.2)), prolonged working hours per day (AOR=2.64; 95% CI (1.02 to 6.08)), not using the adjustable seat with back support (AOR=6.38, 95% CI (2.39 to 17.01)) were associated with low back pain among taxi drivers. CONCLUSION The prevalence of low back pain among taxi drivers was high. Being overweight/obese, alcohol drinking, job dissatisfaction, prolonged working hours per day, and not using adjustable seats with back support, were factors associated with low back pain among taxi drivers. Therefore, ergonomic and behavioural-related awareness training is recommended to minimise the burden of low back pain among taxi drivers.

Abstract
Several studies have assessed the influence of several often-ignored environmental factors on low back pain (LBP), but the effects of environmental polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) exposure on LBP are unclear. During the 2001-2004 cycle of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), our study was given to a representative sample of US participants older than 20 (N = 2743). Environmental PAH exposure was calculated using urinary PAH metabolite concentrations. Weighted logistic regression was performed to assess the connection between PAH levels and LBP, with mediation analysis utilised to explore the underlying mechanism. Levels of 1-hydroxynaphthalene (1-OHNa), 2-hydroxynaphthalene (2-OHNa) and total PAHs had a statistically significant positive association with LBP. The odds ratios per 1-unit increase for log-transformed levels of urinary 1-OHNa, 2-OHNa, and total PAHs with LBP were 1.01 (95% CI 1.02-1.19), 1.19 (95% CI 1.04-1.36) and 1.16 (95% CI 1.03-1.32), respectively. The results revealed a strong dose-response association between 1-OHNa, 2-OHNa, total PAHs, and LBP risk. Subgroup analysis indicated that 2&3-OHPh may increase the risk of LBP in the lower family income subgroup. Gamma-glutamyl transaminase (GGT), known as a biomarker of oxidative stress, was strongly related to PAHs. The relationship between total PAHs and LBP was mediated in part by GGT. Our study demonstrates associations between environmental PAH exposure and LBP that need more research to determine the precise effects of various PAH compounds on LBP.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This review evaluates the evidence on the strength of causal relationship between categories of risk factors (RFs) and work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WRMSDs) among professional drivers. BACKGROUND A compilation of evidence on the causal relationship between RFs and WRMSDs among professional drivers is lacking. METHODS A systematic search of the literature was conducted in major electronic data bases that include Medline (1946 + via OvidSP), Embase (1974 + OvidSP), CINAHL (1982+), AMED, and Web of Science. The methodological quality of the studies was assessed and scored. A descriptive analysis on the categories of RFs associated with WRMSDs was conducted. The Bradford-Hill causation criteria and evidence interpretation tool were used to evaluate the causal relationship between RFs and WRMSDs in professional drivers. RESULTS Among the 54 studies reviewed, a strong evidence suggests a causal relationship between RFs such as whole-body vibration, awkward postures, lifting tasks, manual material handling, job stress, job demand, and previous pain episodes with WRMSDs. Moderate evidence was observed on RFs such as uncomfortable seat and low job satisfaction. The evidence on causal relationship between RFs such as years of professional driving, driving duration, and individual characteristics such as age and body mass index was inconclusive. CONCLUSION There is strong to moderate evidence on the causal relationship between the physical and psychosocial RFs and WRMSDs among professional drivers. APPLICATION Potential application of this review highlights evidence to occupational health practitioners, policy makers, and stakeholders on the strength of causal relationship between RFs and WRMSDs among professional drivers.

Abstract
Occupational driving of light-duty vehicles (LDVs) became increasingly important in parcel delivery faced with the explosive growth of e-commerce. Since musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) represent the most reported driving-related health problem, we aimed to analyze the risk of low back pain (LBP) and upper-extremity musculoskeletal disorders (UEMSDs) associated with driving LDVs for parcel delivery. In 306 postal workers exposed to driving and 100 unexposed workers, information on occupational driving, physical/psychosocial constraints, and work organization were collected via a questionnaire. MSDs were assessed using the Nordic Questionnaire, 14 additional questions regarding LBP, and a standardized clinical examination for UEMSDs. Statistical modeling consisted of multivariable logistic regression for UEMSDs and the item response theory approach for LBP. UEMSDs were associated with the distance of rural rounds and inversely associated with urban/mixed delivery rounds. Handling heavy loads was associated with LBP, and high physical demands during delivery rounds were related to MSDs. Karasek dimensions and mobbing actions were associated with MSDs. Work recognition, driving training, using an automatic gearbox, and the utilization of additional staff during peak periods were inversely associated with MSDs. Our results suggest that the distance driven in rural settings and high physical demands were associated with MSDs, while some organizational factors could protect from MSDs.

Abstract
Background: Although studies have assessed the impact of occupational risk factors on the health of law enforcement officers (LEO's), few have involved (LEO's) as informants in ways that allow their points of view to be heard directly. Thus, the objective of this study is to explore the occupational health, safety, and wellness (OHSW) concerns of (LEO's). Methods: (LEO's) working in Quebec, Canada were invited to answer an open-ended question regarding their OHSW concerns. Using a multi-stage content analysis, the collected answers were analyzed and coded by two members of the research team to identify the most recurrent concerns of (LEO's). Findings: Five themes relating to the OHSW concerns of (LEO's) were identified, namely, the work schedule, occupational stress, work equipment, workplace health promotion, and operational risks. Furthermore, our analyses highlighted differences in the concerns of (LEO's) based on their level of experience and sex. Conclusions/Application to Practice: This study addresses a gap in the literature on the OHSW concerns from the perspective of (LEO's). Overall, our results support that the work schedule and occupational stress associated with law enforcement are the two most recurrent concerns of (LEO's). Thus, the results of this study further stress the need for police organizations to implement strategies and policies, which could mitigate the deleterious effects of these hazards on the overall wellness of (LEO's).

Abstract
Bus driving is considered a highly stressful and unhealthy occupation, even among sedentary jobs, because of the particular task characteristics. This study used the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) to interview bus drivers and determine the risk factors for musculoskeletal discomfort. The NMQ was distributed to 152 bus drivers in the Taipei metropolitan area (Taiwan) and the valid data of 145 respondents were analyzed. The survey revealed that the overall prevalence of musculoskeletal disorder symptoms in any body part during the preceding year was 78.3%, and the body parts for which with the prevalence of discomfort was highest were the neck (46.9%), right shoulder (40.0%), lower back (37.2%), and left shoulder (33.8%). Stress and an uncomfortable seat may contribute to neck, shoulder, and lower back discomfort. Stretching between trips may help to reduce neck and shoulder discomfort. When comparing our results with those of similar studies, we discovered that the prevalence of symptoms and detailed risk factors vary by country and region. On this basis, we believe that local investigations emphasizing specific task arrangements and characteristics are needed to address the problem of musculoskeletal disorders in bus drivers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Taxi drivers have an increased risk of low back pain due to both physical and occupational conditions. This study aims to determine the prevalence of low back pain and occupational risk factors among taxi drivers working in İzmir, Turkey. METHODS This study was conducted with 447 taxi drivers at randomly selected taxi stands between April and September 2021. The questionnaire included demographic, individual, and work-related questions; the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire; and the Back Pain Functional Scale (BPFS). RESULTS The prevalence of low back pain in the last year was 49.7%. In multivariate logistic regression analyses, the risk factors for low back pain included having a body mass index of 25-29.9 kg/m2 (OR= 1.67, 95% CI 1.01-2.76) or ≥30 kg/m2 (OR= 2.15, %95 CI 1.19-3.87), no physical activity (OR= 1.66, 95% CI 1.06-2.62), years of work >10 (OR= 3.23, 95% CI 1.89-5.53), no weekly rest period (OR= 3.11, 95% CI 1.42-6.81), having no lumbar support on the driver's seat (OR:1.67, 95% CI:1.05-2.66), or undecisive job satisfaction (OR= 2.07, 95% CI 1.17-3.66). Being undecided about job satisfaction (OR= 2.34, 95% CI 1.15-4.92) and not having physical activity (OR= 2.10 CI 1.08-4.08) were found to be risk factors for reduced BPFS scores. CONCLUSION A strong correlation was found between the frequency of low back pain and the BPFS score and occupational factors. Early detection and management of low back pain are critical to avoid increased low back pain and related injuries among taxi drivers.

Abstract
Several recent studies have looked into the differences in air qualities inside popular commute modes. The impact of daily commuting patterns and work-related trips on inhalation doses, however, are not investigated. The purpose of this study is to quantify the variation in air pollutants within popular commute modes in Mumbai, India, and to estimate the variation in exposure as a result of occupational or work-related trips across different sub-groups. Real-time pollutants, both gaseous and particulate matters (PM), were measured on a pre-defined route during rush and non-rush hours on buses, cars, auto-rickshaws, sub-urban trains, and motorbikes through several trips (N = 98). Household surveys were conducted to estimate the exposures of different occupational subgroups (cab-driver, auto-rickshaw drivers, delivery persons) and people commuting to their offices daily. Participants (N = 800) from various socioeconomic backgrounds in the city were asked about their job categories, work-activity patterns, and work-related commute trips. Mass concentrations of particles in different size ranges (PM1, PM2.5, and PM10) were substantially higher (p < 0.05) inside auto-rickshaws (44.6 μg/m3, 84.7 μg/m3, and 138.3 μg/m3) compared to other modes. Inside cars, gaseous pollutants such as carbon monoxide (CO) and total volatile organic compounds (TVOC) were significantly higher (p < 0.05). Although both gaseous and particulate concentrations were lower (p < 0.05) inside buses, bus-commuters were found to be highly exposed to the pollutants due to the extended trip time (∼1.2 times longer than other modes) and driving conditions. Office commuters inhale a large fraction of their daily doses (25-30%) during their work-related travel. Occupational sub-groups, on the other hand, inhale ∼90% of the pollutants during their work. In a day, an auto-rickshaw driver inhales 10-15% more (p < 0.05) pollutants than cab driver or delivery personnel. Therefore, this study highlights the inequalities in occupational exposure as a combined effect of in-cabin air qualities and commute patterns due to occupational obligations.

Abstract
With the rapidly aging population, taxi drivers are aging at a fast pace, and competition in the taxi industry is intensifying due to the emergence of various transportation platforms. A descriptive secondary data study was conducted (on a total of 936 subjects) to determine the factors affecting the deterioration of taxi drivers’ physical health status (PHS) according to their age group. The increased incidence of chronic diseases and cognitive decline among taxi drivers aged 55−64 years had the greatest influence on the deterioration of their PHS. Driver obesity was more likely to be related to deterioration of the PHS in the drivers aged 55−64 years (OR: 2.459, <0.001) and 35−54 years (OR: 2.133, <0.001). Among the financial factors, a driver’s income and their number of dependent family members were correlated with the deterioration of the PHS for drivers aged 55 years or over. Therefore, chronic diseases, obesity and cognitive decline were related with deterioration of the physical health status. This suggests that attention should be paid to healthcare policies not only for the elderly aged over 65 years but also those aged 50 to 64 years, i.e., middle-aged people at the beginning of the transition to old age.

Abstract
To review studies on work ability (WA) and its relationship with the biopsychosocial factors of professional drivers. We performed a scoping review of articles published until 2021, extracting location, study design, sample characteristics, transport category, WA assessment methods, and health-related factors. Eighteen studies were found in different transport categories around the world. Most of the studies were cross-sectional (15/18, 83%), in a single branch of professional drivers, and the Work Ability Index (WAI) appears as the most common assessment instrument (7/18, 39%). The characteristics of work organization, lack of physical activity, comorbidities, and psychosocial and ergonomic factors are associated with musculoskeletal symptoms and stress in professional drivers. Comparisons of WA and related factors between studies and professional drivers are limited due to the multiplicity of assessment methods.

Abstract
Background: Lower back pain (LBP) is well-known as the most common musculoskeletal condition with 80% of lifetime prevalence. The effects of LBP on cultural, social, and public health continue to increase. It brings in billions of dollars of medical costs. This study assessed the prevalence of LBP among car drivers with the wrong driving position in Taif. Methodology: A cross-sectional study using an electronic questionnaire in English translated to Arabic, which included questions about driving with wrong postures, lower back pain, and its correlation. Results: 91.1% of participants satisfied our inclusion criteria for the data analysis. The prevalence of lower back pain in this study was about 44.1% (n = 659). It was more among those aged >40 years (50.9%) compared to other age groups, which showed a statistically significant association (P < 0.001). It was found that 54.4% (n = 813) had been driving in a wrong posture, and there was a strong association observed between this wrong posture and LBP (51.8%) (P < 0.001). Conclusion: The prevalence of LBP was high among drivers. This study calls for implanting health education and awareness programs about LBP and its risk factors.

Abstract
Introduction Work-related musculoskeletal disorder (WMSD) is a leading causes of occupational injury and disability among drivers and workers in the transport industry. This study evaluated the ergonomically assessed WMSD and its determinants among Nigerian commercial mini bus drivers (BD) and mini bus conductors (BC) Method A total of 379 participants (BD = 200, BC = 179) were purposively sampled for this exploratory cross-sectional study. Participants’ WMSD and work related variables were respectively assessed using the standardized Nordic questionnaire and a content-validated, Driving Work Station Assessment (DWSA) form. Data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially using chi-square and logistic regression. The level of significance was set at α = 0.05. Results The participants were aged between 20 and 66 years, with a mean age of 33.26±10.76years (BD = 38.42±10.22years, BC = 27.50±8.13years); most of whom consumed alcohol (84.4%) and experienced severe job stress (73.4%). There was a high prevalence (95.8%; BD = 94.5%, BC = 97.8%) of WMSDs, the lower back (66.8%) and upper back (54.1%) had the highest regional prevalence of WMSD. The BC (BC vs BD) had significantly (p<0.05) higher prevalence of Neck (47.7% vs 21.5%) and upper back (80.4% vs 30.5%) WMSDs. Conversely, the BD (BD vs BC) had significantly (p<0.05) higher prevalence of low-back (85.0% vs 46.4%), knee (25.0% vs 9.5%), elbow (11.5% vs 3.9%), and wrist (10.5% vs 3.4%) WMSD. There was a significant association between WMSD and each of work duration (X2 = 11.634, p = 0.009), work frequency (X2 = 8.394, p = 0.039), job dissatisfaction (X2 = 10.620, p = 0.001) and job stress (X2 = 16.879, p = 0.001). Working beyond 4days/week (OR = 10.019, p = 0.001), job dissatisfaction (OR = 1.990, p = 0.031), constrained working postures (OR = 5.324, p = 0.003) and fatigue (OR = 4.719, p = 0.002) were the predictors of WMSD. Conclusion Job stress, work duration and work frequency, posture and fatigue are important determinants of WMSDs among mini bus drivers and their assistants in Nigeria. Ergonomics training intervention for this population is recommended.

Abstract
Objectives. This study aimed to assess the prevalence and associated factors of lower back pain (LBP) among taxi drivers working in Mekelle city, Tigray, Ethiopia in 2018. Methods. A community-based cross-sectional study was conducted from April to May 2018 on a sample of 294 male taxi drivers in Mekelle city, Tigray, Ethiopia. A self-administered questionnaire adapted from the Nordic musculoskeletal questionnaire was used to collect data. Independent variables that had a significant association were identified using logistic regression models. Results were reported using texts and frequency distribution tables. Results. From a total sample of 304 male drivers, 294 taxi drivers participated; hence, the response rate was 96.7%. Prevalence of self-reported LBP in the past 12 months among taxi drivers was 27.9%. Average daily hours of driving (adjusted odds ratio [AOR] 2.296, 95% confidence interval [CI] [1.194, 4.416]), using lumbar support while driving (AOR 2.075, 95% CI [1.130, 3.808]) and lack of ergonomic awareness (AOR 2.478, 95% CI [1.343, 4.575]) were significantly associated (p < 0.05) with LBP among taxi drivers. Conclusion. Prevalence of LBP in this study was more than a quarter. Average daily hours driving, use of lumbar support and ergonomics awareness were significant determinants of LBP among taxi drivers.

Abstract
Objectives. This research aimed to study the prevalence and perceived discomfort of musculoskeletal (MSK) symptoms among short-distance and long-distance deep-seaport truck drivers. Methods. Cross-sectional analysis using a standardized modified version of the Nordic musculoskeletal questionnaire (NMQ) was carried out using direct interviews with 25 male participants: 15 short-distance and 10 long-distance truck drivers. Results. As much as 88% was reported for the existence of MSK symptoms in the past 12 months. Considering all truck groups, regardless of short or long distance, the lower back was found with the highest prevalence (72%) followed by the neck (32%). The χ2 test showed long-distance truck drivers had statistically significantly more prevalence in the neck (p = 0.028) than short-distance drivers. Perceived discomfort by the Borg CR10 scale confirmed the lower back had the highest score (2.4) followed by the neck (1.44). The Kruskal-Wallis test revealed that long-distance truck drivers had significantly higher scores on the lower back and neck (p = 0.039 and p = 0.009, respectively). Conclusion. Longer exposure to prolonged non-natural working postures, vibration, traffic conditions and working stress could be the judicial causes. To minimize this problem, integrated interventions need to be implemented with particular measures among short-distance and long-distance truck drivers.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE In this review, we determine if there is evidence to demonstrate a relationship between occupational driving posture and low back pain. BACKGROUND The burden of low back pain is increasing. An understanding of this relationship is required to enable the development of recommendations for clinicians and policy-makers for the driving industry. METHOD Five databases were searched up to March 12, 2018. Study quality was assessed using the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's Quality Assessment Tool for Observational Cohort and Cross-Sectional Studies, followed by a GRADE analysis to consider the evidence as a whole. A narrative, critical synthesis was completed that considered the methods by which driving posture and low back pain were measured and analyzed. RESULTS There were 653 articles identified, with seven eligible for review. Four articles identified an association between occupational driving posture and low back pain, yet this was based on the use of measurement tools lacking validity. Although a relationship may exist, the specific driving postures associated with low back pain and the strength of this relationship have not been confirmed. CONCLUSION Future research needs to employ validated and reliable, real-time qualitative methods for measuring occupational driving posture to advance our understanding of this relationship. APPLICATION Clinical and policy recommendations regarding driving posture and low back pain should be used with caution, as they are guided by evidence incorporating bias. Future studies are required to confirm the specific postures assumed while occupational driving and their relationship with low back pain, before recommendations can be made.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Factors related to the wellness of taxi drivers are important for identifying high-risk drivers based on human factors. The purpose of this study is to predict high-risk taxi drivers based on a deep learning method by identifying the wellness of a driver, which reflects the personal characteristics of the driver. METHODS In-depth interviews with taxi drivers are conducted to collect wellness data. The priorities of factors affecting the severity of accidents are derived through a random forest model. In addition, based on the derived priority of variables, various combinations of inputs are set as scenarios and optimal artificial neural network models are derived for each scenario. Finally, the model with the best performance for predicting high-risk taxi drivers is selected based on three criteria. RESULTS A model with variables up to the 16th priority as inputs is selected as the best model; this has a classification accuracy of 86% and an F1-score of 0.77. CONCLUSIONS The wellness-based model for predicting high-risk taxi drivers presented in this study can be used for developing a taxi driver management system. In addition, it is expected to be useful when establishing customized traffic safety improvement measures for commercial vehicle drivers.

Abstract
The main purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of work-related factors, fatigue, risky behaviours on accident involvement among different age groups of taxi drivers in China. A total of 2391 taxi drivers were selected to complete a self-reported questionnaire about their demographic data and information on working conditions, fatigue, risky behaviours, as well as involvement in traffic accidents between 2014 and 2016. The drivers were divided into three categories according to their age. Then, a set of comparative analyses and three structural equation models were used to analyze the samples of specific age groups. The results indicated that taxi drivers in the younger group rest the least with the most dissatisfaction with income while those in the mid-age group worked the longest time and were charged the most management fee, but the older taxi drivers more frequently engaged in risky behaviours and traffic accidents. Furthermore, two mediating chain processes were confirmed (i.e. 'work-related factors - fatigue - accidents' and 'work-related factors - risky behaviours - accidents') across the three age groups. However, the causes of fatigue, risky behaviours and accidents in different age groups are not exactly the same. These findings suggest that the regulation of the taxi industry should be carefully improved. Incentive policy and education aimed at taxi drivers may also hold promise.

Abstract
Although studies have reported lower back pain (LBP) in professional drivers, the conductors travelling in the same bus who share the same working environment are often neglected. Thus, the present study was undertaken to assess the prevalence of LBP and the factors associated with it. The study included 237 bus conductors from government bus depots. The data regarding occupational, non-occupational and environmental factors were collected by interview technique using a structured questionnaire. Self-reported back pain in the last 12 months in or near the lumbosacral spine was considered a case of LBP. The study revealed that 27.4% had LBP. The multivariate analysis suggested that tobacco smoking, self-reported bad road conditions and lack of enough breaks during work were significant risk factors. Thus, to conclude, the conductors are at risk of LBP that can be attributed to occupational as well as non-occupational factors.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Work-related health problems result in an economic loss of 4-6% in GDP (Gross domestic Product) of the most countries. In the industrialized countries, 1/3rd of the health-related absence to duty are due to musculoskeletal disorders. Professional driving is one such occupation which looks like sedentary occupation, but involves many risk factors that contribute to work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSD) due to its nature of working and work environment. This research describes the various risk factors associated with WMSDs and their effects on drivers health. OBJECTIVE To assess the prevalence of WMSD and its associated risk factors among the bus drivers of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Karnataka. METHODS Subjects considered in this study are 301 full-time bus drivers from the central division KSRTC which consists of 6 depots in Bengaluru. Information regarding reported WMSD symptoms during immediate past 7 days to 12 months, the intervention of WMSD in their day-to-day life and the overall comfort of the body are determined through Standardized Nordic Questionnaire and also by direct observation. The survey questionnaire is conducted by face to face interview. FINDINGS From the statistical analysis, it is found that around 55.8% of the study population has experienced WMSD. The prevalence of WMSD is most common in the age group of 29-39 years (53.5%) followed by the age group of >40 years. CONCLUSION In this study, some of the work-related and lifestyle/health-related factors show significant association with WMSD in bus drivers of Karnataka. Musculoskeletal disorders can be prevented by designing the driver's workspace ergonomically so that the design suits to all sorts of drivers and the drivers should also be trained on basics of vehicle ergonomics (posture, seat adjustments, in-vehicle controls adjustments). INTERPRETATION KSRTC should educate drivers on the basics of vehicle ergonomics, harmful use of tobacco/alcohol, unhealthy food habits and also to involve in physical exercise at least 75-150 mins weekly. If not, the trend of drivers suffering from WMSD belonging to mid-age will increase exponentially. SCOPE FOR FUTURE WORK Statistical result and direct observation insist on undertaking further studies on ergonomic interventions at driver's cabin, lifestyle/occupational health factors which mitigate WMSD in different parts of the body during driving.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to conduct a systematic review of studies to determine whether sitting time measured objectively (by laboratory controlled time trial, direct observation, or wearable sensor) is associated with the immediate increase in low back pain (LBP) (determined by pain scale rating) in people >18 years of age. METHODS Four databases (PubMed, EMBASE, SPORTDiscus, and Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) were searched from inception to September 1, 2018. Randomized controlled trials and cohort and cross-sectional studies, where objectively measured sitting time was temporally matched with a measure of LBP in adults, were included. Studies without a control session conducted on a separate day were excluded. Screening, full-text review, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment (Quality In Prognosis Studies) of included papers were performed independently by 2 reviewers, with a third available to resolve disagreements. RESULTS In total, 609 articles were identified, 361 titles/abstracts were screened,75 full-text articles were assessed for eligibility, and 10 met the inclusion criteria. All but 1 reported sitting time to be associated with an immediate increase in LBP. Six of these reported clinically relevant pain levels (n = 330). Half of the included studies were rated as having a low risk of bias and the remaining were rated as having a moderate risk of bias. CONCLUSION Prolonged sitting increases immediate reporting of LBP in adults; however, no conclusion between sitting and clinical episodes of LBP can be made. Based upon these findings, we recommend that future prospective studies should match objectively measured sitting with temporally related pain measurements to determine whether prolonged sitting can trigger a clinical episode of LBP.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Professional drivers are at high risk of developing musculoskeletal pain (MSP) due to risk factors such as prolonged sitting, whole body vibration, awkward posture, and repetitive actions. This review investigates the reported prevalence of MSP among professional drivers. METHODS An electronic search of Medline (1946 + via OvidSP), Embase (1974 + OvidSP), CINAHL (1982+), AMED, PubMed, and Web of Science from 1990 to July 2019 was performed. Methodological quality of studies was assessed using three quality assessment tools for cross-sectional, case-control, and prospective cohort studies. The prevalence of MSP was reported using descriptive analysis. RESULTS A total of 56 studies conducted in 23 different countries across a total of 14 types of occupational transport were reviewed. Data of a total pooled population of 18 882 professional drivers were analyzed for MSP. The prevalence of MSP ranged between 43.1% and 93%. The low back was the most frequently reported body region for MSP with a meta-prevalence rate of 53% (N = 9998). Neck, shoulder, and upper back were the other common regions with high prevalence. CONCLUSION There is a high prevalence of MSP in professional drivers and low back was the most frequently reported body region, followed by neck, upper back, shoulder, knee, hip/thigh, wrist, ankle, and elbow. MSP is complicated in nature and therefore in-depth exploration of causal relationships between MSP and risk factors is necessary so that appropriate healthcare programs can be initiated to prevent and treat MSP effectively.

Magnitude and Contributing Factors of Low Back Pain among Long Distance Truck Drivers at Modjo Dry Port, Ethiopia: A Cross-Sectional Study. Abstract
Background Low back pain (LBP) is well known as the most common musculoskeletal disorder with the lifetime prevalence of eighty percent. Worldwide, 37% of low back pain was attributable to occupational risk factors. Truck driving is one among the jobs causing occupational LBP. Even though these drivers in Ethiopia run the high risk of occupational injuries and illnesses like drivers elsewhere, the evidence that shows the magnitude and factors that contribute to LBP is a significant shortcoming. Objective To assess the magnitude and contributing factors of low back pain among long-distance truck drivers at Modjo Dry Port, Ethiopia, 2018. Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted among systematically selected 422 long-distance truck drivers at Modjo Dry Port, Ethiopia, from February to March 2018. Data were collected through face-to-face individual interview using a structured questionnaire adapted from the standardized Nordic questionnaire for the analysis of musculoskeletal symptoms. The data were entered using EPI-DATA version 4.2.0.0 and cleaned and analyzed using SPSS version 20 statistical software for windows. Binary logistic regression was computed to determine the association using crude and adjusted odds ratios at 95% confidence intervals. Independent variables with a P value less than 0.05 in the multivariable logistic regression model were considered as significant. Results Of 400 truck drivers interviewed, the prevalence of LBP was found to be 65%. The study also found smoking cigarette (AOR = 2.24, 95% CI (1.25–4.01), and P=0.007), physical inactivity (AOR = 2.12, 95% CI (1.28–3.51), and P=0.003), chronic diseases other than LBP (AOR = 2.18, 95% CI (1.32–3.61), and P=0.002), frequent lifting or carrying heavy objects (AOR = 3.02, 95% CI (1.75–5.22), and P ≤ 0.001), perceived improper sitting posture while driving (AOR = 2.20, 95% CI (1.35–3.60), and P=0.002), and perceived job stress (AOR = 2.07, 95% CI (1.20–3.57), and P=0.009) were contributing factors of low back pain. Conclusion This finding shows the public health importance of low back pain among long-distance truck drivers in Ethiopia. Individual factors largely accounted for the development of low back pain; hence, orientation on these modifiable risk factors and regular follow-up on safety procedures should be considered to mitigate the problem.

Abstract
Objective: To determine the effects of repetitive ipsilateral rotation on low back pain among the taxi drivers of right and left hand drive. Methods: A total of 1200 (600 Iran+600 Pakistan) male taxi drivers, aged between 20-60 years with work experience of more than one year were randomly selected and interviewed in Tehran (Iran) & Lahore (Pakistan) to fill self-administered questionnaires in Persian and Urdu languages which contained socio-demographic, work related and LBP characteristics. Chi-square test and multiple logistic regression models were employed for statistical analyses. Results: Point, one week, one year and lifetime prevalence of LBP among right hand drive taxi drivers was 26.7%, 35.5%, 49.8% and 77.7% respectively. Point, one week, one year and lifetime prevalence of LBP among left hand drive taxi drivers was 37%, 42.7%, 53.5% and 72.3% respectively. Mean Numeric Pain rating scale (NPRS) score was 4.15 (SD=1.42) in Pakistan, while in Iran it was 4(SD=1.57). There was no significant difference regarding pain intensity (p=0.123) between drivers from both countries. Mean Roland-Morris Questionnaire (RMQ) score among drivers in Pakistan with LBP was 7.76(SD= 2.50), while in Iranian drivers who had LBP, mean RMQ score was 7.71(SD=2.99). Conclusion: Static or less dynamic muscles are more prone to LBP due to lower endurance. Lack of exercising habit, work as a driver for more number of years, driving within city, more driving hours in a day, forward bending, lifting, no seat comfort, lack of awareness regarding ergonomics and lower satisfaction level of job were the main reasons of LBP.

Abstract
Research has shown that taxi drivers are at risk for numerous health concerns, such as low back and leg pain, linked to their highly sedentary occupation, long work hours and stressors related to the job (e.g. low income, safety threats). The goal of this study was to explore occupational health risks and opportunities for health interventions with taxi drivers using community-based participatory research (CBPR) methods. A mixed methods approach included first a convenience sample of 19 East African taxi drivers participating in focus group discussions. Second, a convenience sample of 75 current taxi drivers (M age = 45.7 years) and 25 non-driver comparison participants (M age = 40.3 years) were recruited to complete a structured self-reported questionnaire and objective measures of health. Health education was provided alongside the research to address common health concerns and to ensure mutual benefit and an action orientation. The focus groups described numerous health concerns that drivers attributed to their occupation, including chronic pain, sleep deprivation, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, kidney disease and eye problems, as the most common. Participants offered ideas for health interventions that include workplace reform and driver education. Quantitative data indicate that 44% of drivers reported their health as 'fair' or 'poor'. Drivers were more likely to report musculoskeletal pain, less sleep, more fatigue and less physical activity as compared to non-drivers. The majority of drivers reported financial and job dissatisfaction. The research provides data to inform targeted health interventions that support the health and safety of taxi drivers.

Abstract
Low back pain (LBP) is a major public health problem that adversely affects the quality of life (QOL) of workers. The etiology of LBP is considered to be multi-factorial with individual, physical, and psychosocial factors contributing to its development and persistence. Although prevention of LBP in workers in the workplace is very important, only a small number of studies have assessed the risk factors and epidemiology of LBP among Japanese factory workers who stand as part of their job. This cross-sectional study investigated the prevalence of LBP in 691 factory employees who conducted their work while standing. Health-related QOL was evaluated using the Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire (RDQ) to quantify the severity of LBP with the aim of identifying risk factors for LBP among workers who stand as part of their work in an electronics manufacturing company. We observed that the prevalence of LBP lasting for at least 48 hours within a week was 20.0% among participants, with female employees and those with a prior history of LBP having a significantly increased risk of developing LBP. The distribution of the RDQ score showed a negative regression curve among the employees, which was different from the normal distribution pattern reported previously in Japanese patients with LBP. These findings suggest that prolonged standing among factory workers poses an increased risk for LBP.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION In Korea, low back pain (LBP) which is occupation-related symptom is one of the major health issues owing to rapid industrialization. Even traditional Korean medicine has the long history in pain treatment, there still has been lack of supporting evidence on herbal prescription itself. Sogyeonghwalhyeol-tang, a Korean herbal medicine prescription, has been suggested as a medication for treating chronic LBP as well as work-related pains. OBJECTIVE This study aims to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of herbal medicine, Sogyeonghwalhyeol-tang on work-related chronic LBP patients. METHOD This trial is designed as a multicenter, randomized, controlled, clinical trial. Seventy-two participants who have chief complaint of LBP in Korean medicine rehabilitation center will be randomly assigned to ether Sogyeonghwalhyeol-tang group or placebo group with a ratio of 1:1. They will receive assigned drugs in 4 weeks and follow-up for 2 weeks. DISCUSSION The result of this study will provide the valuable information for efficacy and safety of Sogyeonghwalhyeol-tang for patients with work-related chronic LBP.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Low back pain (LBP) is an exceedingly common medical condition that results in significant medical and social burden. Sitting for a long period is a common aggravating factor for LBP. Although seat cushion is known to promote comfort, relieve pressure, and correct posture, its effect on chronic LBP has not yet been investigated. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical effect of gel seat cushion on chronic LBP in occupational drivers. METHODS Occupational drivers with chronic LBP lasting for >6 months were recruited. Subjects were double-blinded, randomly assigned to 2 groups (gel and foam cushion groups), and instructed to use the provided cushions while driving. Pain threshold and tissue hardness were measured at tender points using a digital algometer. Numeric pain intensity scale (NPIS), Roland-Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ), and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) were used to analyze the primary endpoint, whereas the Beck Depression Inventory and Short Form-6D were used for the secondary endpoint. RESULTS Of 80 enrolled subjects, 75 (gel cushion group, 40; foam cushion group, 35) were included for analysis. Both groups showed significant improvement in NPIS and ODI scores following cushion use. Results for Beck Depression Inventory and Short Form-6D scores indicated that gel cushion use was significantly helpful. Change in NPIS score was significantly greater in the gel cushion group than in the foam cushion group. CONCLUSION Gel cushion use may be effective in relieving LBP in occupational drivers seated for a long period compared with foam cushion use.

Abstract
Background Episodes of low back pain (LBP) are very common among workers. A number of occupational risk factors have been shown to increase the risk for LBP. One of these risk factors is exposure to whole body vibration, which is a known characteristic in driving professions. The aim of this study was to assess the impact of driving on LBP amongst young professional drivers. Methods This is an historical-prospective cohort study based on the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) database of male soldiers drafted between the years 1997–2006. Subjects’ medical history with specific reference to LBP medical history, clinical and radiographic findings were taken as part of the recruitment process to the IDF. The study group included subjects (n = 80,599) from three occupational groups: administrative units (AU), car drivers (CD) and truck drivers (TD) that were followed for 3 years. The incidence and recrudescence rates of LBP were calculated based on standardized LBP severity tiers. Results The total incidence rate for LBP was 0.65%, 0.7% and 0.34% for AU, CD and TD respectively. In a comparison between subjects without a history of LBP (category 1) to subjects with a history of LBP without clinical findings (category 2) and subjects with a history of LBP with mild clinical / radiographic findings (category 3), the relative risk (RR) for severe LBP exacerbation was 1.4 (p < 0.001) and 3.8 (p < 0.01), respectively. The LBP exacerbation rates within different severity tiers yielded a similar trend amongst all profession groups. Conclusions This study included 80,000 soldiers who represent a population of driving and administrative occupations aged 18–21. The significant risk factors for developing LBP were a previous history of LBP and presence of LBP symptoms at the start of work. A correlation was identified between severity of LBP at the initial examination and further exacerbation of LBP in all examined occupations. Driving as a profession in our (young) age-group was not identified as a risk factor for LBP.

Abstract
In this study, responses of biodynamic human body models to whole-body vibration during a vehicle ride were investigated. Accelerations were acquired from three different body parts, such as the head, upper torso and lower torso, of 10 seated passengers during a car ride while two different road conditions were considered. The same multipurpose vehicle was used during all experiments. Additionally, by two widely used biodynamic models in the literature, a set of simulations were run to obtain theoretical accelerations of the models and were compared with those obtained experimentally. To sustain a quantified comparison between experimental and theoretical approaches, the root mean square acceleration and acceleration spectral density were calculated. Time and frequency responses of the models demonstrated that neither of the models showed the best prediction performance of the human body behaviour in all cases, indicating that further models are required for better prediction of the human body responses.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Prolonged sitting with a flexed back and neck is recognized as being associated with an increased risk of neck and back pain disorders among overhead crane operators. The aim of this study was to compare back and head postures over a full shift of work between operators who experience back and neck pain, and healthy operators. METHODS In a first phase, the prevalence of musculoskeletal symptoms was assessed using the Nordic questionnaire among 120 crane operators. Based on first phase results, 17 operators with back/neck disorders were matched with 15 healthy operators based on age and selected to participate in the second phase of the study. Postures and movements were continuously measured over an 8 h shift using inclinometers. RESULTS The highest 12-month prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders was found in the lower back, neck and knees. Case and control groups differed significantly in back and head flexion angles at the 50th percentiles APDF (p < 0.05). There was also a significant difference in the time spent working in an extreme posture of the back and head between groups (p < 0.05). CONCLUSIONS This is the first study to document work postures assumed during a full work shift and to compare postures between symptomatic and healthy overhead crane operators. Physical exposure in case group operators was characterized by more awkward and extreme postures in the back and head. The results of this study demonstrate that effective prevention strategies directed towards musculoskeletal disorders are required that address awkward work postures for overhead crane operators.

Abstract
STUDY DESIGN Web-based cross-sectional study. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to describe the prevalence and the burden of low back pain (LBP) and chronic low back pain (CLBP) among Quebec police officers. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA Police officers have work-related factors associated with LBP, but chronicity and impacts of this condition have been little explored among this population. METHODS Between May and October 2014, a web-based cross-sectional study was conducted among police officers working in the province of Quebec (Canada). Nine police organizations accepted to disseminate the email invitation to their members. The survey included the French-Canadian version of the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire and other items regarding functional impact of LBP and associated treatments. RESULTS A total of 3589 police officers completed the questionnaire. Mean age was 38.5 ± 8.7 years, 32.0% were women, and 67.4% reported being car-patrol officers. A majority reported LBP symptoms in the past 12 months (67.7%) and 96.5% of them perceived that presence of LBP was totally/partially linked to their work in the police force. Prevalence of CLBP among all responders was 28.7%. Police officers reporting CLBP, as compared to those reporting acute or subacute LBP symptoms in the past 12 months, were more likely to report LBP-related reduction of work activities (64.4% vs. 45.7%; P < 0.001) and more working days lost in the past 12 months (average of 11.9 ± 43.5 vs. 1.5 ± 9.8; P < 0.001). A greater proportion also reported LBP-related health care visits in the past 12 months (86.2% vs. 64.2%; P < 0.001) and current use of pain medications/complementary alternative medicines (90.1% vs. 69.7%; P < 0.001). CONCLUSION CLBP is a frequent and burdensome condition among Quebec police officers. Our results underline the importance for police organizations to promote CLBP prevention and to implement workplace management programs. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE 3.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Taxi drivers are at high risk for low back pain (LBP). AIM Identify the association between psychosocial-work factors (Job strain, Iso-strain, effort-reward imbalance [ERI], unfairness, and mental exertion) and LBP in taxi drivers. METHODS A cross-sectional study was done with 129 taxi drivers. RESULTS Approximately 63% reported LBP in the prior 12 months. Chi square or t-test analyses identified the associations between demographic, work, health, and psychosocial work factors, and self-report of LBP in the prior 12 months. Depression, perceived physical exertion, dispatcher and manager support, unfair treatment at work, and unfair treatment due to nationality were significantly associated with LBP in bivariate analyses. Multivariate logistic regression was done to identify the predictors of LBP. High dispatcher support remained the sole significant predictor for lower prevalence of LBP (OR = 0.66, P = 0.017). Abstract
This case study used the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ) to explore work that involves handling gas cylinders and to determine risk factors that may cause related injuries. The NMQ survey was distributed to 100 gas cylinder handlers in Taiwan, and their handling tasks were analyzed. The results showed that the overall prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders was 91% within 1 year. More than half of the respondents (62%) experienced shoulder discomfort, followed by lower back/waist (57%) and neck (47%) discomfort. Daily work hours (>10 h) were primary factors influencing the development of discomfort when handling gas cylinders, whereas the daily delivery frequency (>30 deliveries) was relevant to the prevalence of lower limb discomfort. Individual factors also substantially influenced upper body, lower back/waist, and knee discomfort (i.e., age, job tenure, and exercise). The findings of this study can serve as references in the prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders caused by performing gas cylinder handling tasks.

Abstract
[Purpose] This study aimed to develop unilateral exercises for urban drivers and investigate the effect of these exercises on low back pain (LBP). [Subject and Methods] A 40-year-old male driver, who complained of LBP on the left side at L3-5 levels, participated in this study. A two-session program was conducted, and LBP, pelvic tilt angle, and trunk range of motion were measured after each session. [Results] After the unilateral exercises, the anterior pelvic tilt angle was improved and the visual analog scale score of back pain decreased. [Conclusion] Analyzing car features and performing individual approaches are necessary in providing treatment for urban drivers with LBP.

Abstract
Police officers are at high risk for developing musculoskeletal injuries. This study aimed to determine differences in physical demands of patrol officers during day shifts and night shifts. Sixteen participants were recruited (10 males, 6 females) for in-vehicle observation over one full day shift and one full night shift. Dynamic pressure distribution when seated in the vehicle was assessed and compared between the first and last parts of each shift. Activity characterization and postural analyses were conducted from video that was recorded continuously for the duration of each shift to determine time spent in each task and corresponding postures. Postural analysis and cumulative joint loads were used to identify higher-risk tasks. Several activities caused the officers to adopt non-neutral postures of the neck, shoulders and back. Future work needs to focus on modifying the interior of the vehicle, as well as decreasing exposure time to activities resulting in non-neutral postures.

Abstract
Background With the increasingly severe energy shortage and climate change problems, developing wind power has become a key energy development strategy and an inevitable choice to protect the ecological environment worldwide. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prevalence of low back pain (LBP) and analyze its risk factors among operation and maintenance personnel in wind farms (OMPWF). Methods A cross-sectional survey of 151 OMPWF was performed, and a comprehensive questionnaire, which was modified and combined from Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaires (NMQ), Washington State Ergonomics Tool (WSET) and Syndrome Checklist-90(SCL-90) was used to assess the prevalence and risk factors of LBP among OMPWF. Results The prevalence of LBP was 88.74 % (134/151) among OMPWF. The multivariable model highlighted four related factors: backrest, somatization, squatting and lifting objects weighing more than 10 lb more than twice per minute. Conclusions The prevalence of LBP among OMPWF appears to be high and highlights a major occupational health concern.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although petrol pumps are a very common and highly used simple technology, their design consideration for comfort and safety to prevent high-pressure load and musculoskeletal injuries to the body is a neglected area in many countries including Iran. OBJECTIVES This study attempted to design a new pump nozzle, and to assess the differences in musculoskeletal load related to body posture when a price/volume display is mounted on the pump nozzle. METHODS For postural analysis, photographs recording the posture of 100 randomly selected customers while fueling at petrol pumps and the rapid upper limb assessment (RULA) technique were used. RESULTS The results of this study showed that RULA scores improved significantly after the newly designed pump nozzle was used. CONCLUSION The newly designed pump nozzle is useful in reducing load related to body posture while fueling.
