Abstract
OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to characterize T-cell activation, exhaustion, maturation and Treg frequencies in individuals who acquire perinatal HIV (PHIV), in individuals who acquired HIV as adult (AHIV), and in healthy controls. DESIGN This cross-sectional study included people with HIV at least 14 and younger than 40 years, HIV-RNA less than 50 copies/ml on antiretroviral therapy for at least 6 months, and HC. METHODS We assessed the expression of PD-1, TIM-3, EOMES, CD38 + DR+, maturation status by CD4 + and CD8 + T cells and the frequency of CD4 + and CD8 + Treg cells. Principal component analysis (PCA) and k-means cluster analysis investigated which combination of immunological parameters better associated with each group. RESULTS Twenty-six PHIV and 18 AHIV with median ages of 26 (8.0) and 28 (6.8) years were consecutively enrolled. PHIV showed significant higher frequency of naive and lower frequency of terminal effector memory CD4 + and CD8 + T cells than AHIV. AHIV exhibited higher expression of exhaustion and activation markers. The statistical analysis returned two clusters with 94% of specificity and 88% of sensitivity identifying PHIV vs. AHIV. The nine healthy controls had a lower expression of exhaustion markers on both CD4 + and CD8 + T lymphocytes than PHIV and AHIV. CONCLUSION These data may exclude major alterations of lymphopoiesis in PHIV, with even lower state of immune-activation and exhaustion compared with AHIV. This suggests that recent lack of virological control, may affect immune activation and exhaustion of CD4 + and CD8 + T cells.

Abstract
In this work our aim was to identify early biomarkers in plasma samples associated with mortality in children with perinatal HIV treated early in life, to potentially inform early intervention targeting this vulnerable group. 20/215 children (9.3%) with perinatal HIV, enrolled within 3 months of age died prematurely within the first year of the study, despite early ART initiation. Using a propensity score, we selected 40 alive study participants having similar clinical and virological records compared to the deceased group. 13 HIV unexposed (HU) healthy children were additionally used as controls. Baseline plasma samples were analyzed using a targeted proteomic approach, and to assess pathogen-associated and damage-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs, DAMPs) levels. Data from deceased participants were compared to both control groups, with multivariate logistic regression models used to evaluate the association between mortality and plasma proteins. We developed a machine learning model to predict mortality risk, finding that IL-6 and CXCL11 not only were higher in deceased children than Matched-children with HIV (p < 0.001 and p = 0.0034) but also predictive of mortality (accuracy of 77%); levels of PAMPs were higher in deceased children (p = 0.0016). Thus, measuring early inflammatory biomarkers, particularly IL-6, could help mortality risk prediction and potentially guide targeted interventions.

Abstract
Despite receiving antiretroviral therapy (ART), an increasing number of adolescents and young adults with perinatally acquired HIV (PHIVAYA) are at risk of developing premature senescence and aging-associated illnesses, including cancer. Given this concern, it is crucial to assess aging biomarkers and their correlation with the HIV reservoir in order to comprehensively characterize and monitor these individuals. Fifty-five PHIVAYA (median age: 23, interquartile range [IQR]: 20-27 years, and 21 [18-23] years on ART at the time of study sampling) were studied along with 23 age-matched healthy controls. The PHIVAYA exhibited significantly higher percentages of activated, senescent, exhausted CD4 and CD8 T cells, shorter telomeres, reduced thymic output, and higher levels of circulating inflammatory markers (PAMPs, DAMPs, and pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6, IL-8, and TNFα) as well as denervation biomarkers (neural cell adhesion molecule 1 [NCAM1] and C-terminal Agrin fragment [CAF]), compared to controls. HIV-DNA levels positively correlated with activated, senescent, exhausted CD4 and CD8 T cells, circulating biomarkers levels, and inversely with regulatory T and B cells and telomere length. According to their viremia over time, PHIVAYA were subgrouped into 14 Not Suppressed (NS)-PHIVAYA and 41 Suppressed (S)-PHIVAYA, of whom 6 who initiated ART within one year of age and maintained sustained viral suppression overtime were defined as Early Suppressed (ES)-PHIVAYA and the other 35 as Late Suppressed (LS)-PHIVAYA. ES-PHIVAYA exhibited significantly lower HIV-DNA reservoir, decreased percentages of senescent and exhausted CD4 and CD8 T cells, reduced levels of circulating inflammatory and denervation biomarkers, but longer telomere compared to LS- and NS-PHIVAYA. They differed significantly from healthy controls only in a few markers, including higher percentages of regulatory T and B cells, and higher levels of DAMPs. Overall, these results underscore the importance of initiating ART early and maintaining viral suppression to limit the establishment of the viral reservoir and to counteract immune and cellular premature aging. These findings also suggest new approaches for minimally invasive monitoring of individuals at high risk of developing premature aging and age-related illnesses.

Abstract
Given advances in antiretroviral therapy, the mortality rate for HIV infection has dropped considerably over recent decades. However, people living with HIV (PLWH) experience longer life spans coupled with persistent immune activation despite viral suppression and potential toxicity from long-term antiretroviral therapy use. Consequently, PLWH face a cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk more than twice that of the general population, making it the leading cause of death among this group. Here, we briefly review the epidemiology of CVD in PLWH highlighting disparities at the intersections of sex and gender, age, race/ethnicity, and the contributions of social determinants of health and psychosocial stress to increased CVD risk among individuals with marginalized identities. We then overview the pathophysiology of HIV and discuss the primary factors implicated as contributors to CVD risk among PLWH on antiretroviral therapy. Subsequently, we highlight the functional evidence of premature vascular dysfunction as an early pathophysiological determinant of CVD risk among PLWH, discuss several mechanisms underlying premature vascular dysfunction in PLWH, and synthesize current research on the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying accelerated vascular aging in PLWH, focusing on immune activation, chronic inflammation, and oxidative stress. We consider understudied aspects such as HIV-related changes to the gut microbiome and psychosocial stress, which may serve as mechanisms through which exercise can abrogate accelerated vascular aging. Emphasizing the significance of exercise, we review various modalities and their impacts on vascular health, proposing a holistic approach to managing CVD risks in PLWH. The discussion extends to critical future study areas related to vascular aging, CVD, and the efficacy of exercise interventions, with a call for more inclusive research that considers the diversity of the PLWH population.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The long-term immunologic effects of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in children with perinatally-acquired HIV (PHIV) have not been fully elucidated. Here, we investigated how the timing of ART initiation affects the long-term immune profile of children living with PHIV by measuring immunomodulatory plasma cytokines, chemokines, and adenosine deaminases (ADAs). METHODS 40 PHIV participants initiated ART during infancy. 39 participant samples were available; 30 initiated ART ≤6 months (early-ART treatment); 9 initiated ART >6 months and <2 years (late-ART treatment). We compared plasma cytokine and chemokine concentrations and ADA enzymatic activities between early-ART and late-ART treatment 12.5 years later and measured correlation with clinical covariates. RESULTS Plasma concentrations of 10 cytokines and chemokines (IFNγ, IL-12p70, IL-13, IL-17A, IL-IRA, IL-5, IL-6, and IL-9 as well as CCL7, CXCL10), ADA1, and ADA total were significantly higher in late-ART compared to early-ART treatment. Furthermore, ADA1 was significantly positively correlated with IFNγ, IL-17A, and IL-12p70. Meanwhile, total ADA was positively correlated with IFNγ, IL-13, IL-17A, IL-1RA, IL-6, and IL-12p70 as well as CCL7. CONCLUSIONS Elevation of several pro-inflammatory plasma analytes in late-ART despite 12.5 years of virologic suppression compared to early-ART treatment suggests that early treatment dampens the long-term plasma inflammatory profile in PHIV participants. IMPACT This study examines differences in the plasma cytokine, chemokine, and ADA profiles 12.5 years after treatment between early (≤6months) and late (>6 months and <2 years) antiretroviral therapy (ART) treatment initiation in a cohort of European and UK study participants living with PHIV. Several cytokines and chemokines (e.g., IFNγ, IL-12p70, IL-6, and CXCL10) as well as ADA-1 are elevated in late-ART treatment in comparison to early-ART treatment. Our results suggest that effective ART treatment initiated within 6 months of life in PHIV participants dampens a long-term inflammatory plasma profile as compared to late-ART treatment.

Abstract
Background and Objectives Over 50% of New Yorkers living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) are 50 years old or older, and the emotional and physical consequences of being a long-term survivor are significant. This study aimed to identify the practical needs of long-term survivors and older people with HIV (consumers) in New York State and develop recommendations addressing those needs. Research Design and Methods The HIV + Aging/LTS/Perinatally Diagnosed Subcommittee of the Consumer Advisory and Quality Advisory committees in the New York State AIDS Institute used community-based participatory research (CBPR) methods to design a statewide survey about the care needs of consumers in New York State. This survey, open to consumers, clinicians, and supportive services providers, was launched in June 2021 using Qualtrics. Participants provided demographic data and chose the 3 most important barriers and recommendations from each of 10 categories of issues affecting health care and supportive services. Consumers provided information about their HIV diagnosis and other health conditions. Responses were characterized using basic descriptive statistics. Results Participants included 124 consumers from 26 counties, 20 clinicians, and 24 supportive service providers. Among consumers, 67% were cisgender men, 27% were African American, and 65% were both long-term survivors and older people with HIV. On average consumers had been diagnosed with HIV for 27 years. Participants were concerned with clinical care coordination, housing needs, cultural representation in mental health services, and financial support of consumers. Discussion and Implications CBPR is an effective approach to developing consumer-generated recommendations to improve HIV care for long-term survivors and older people with HIV. Town hall formats informed survey design, enabled broad coverage of topics, and ensured that focus remained on priorities most important to consumers. The first quality initiative arising from the study was a routine screening of long-term survivors of HIV to identify functional decline and enhance referral pathways and care linkages.

Abstract
Introduction Our understanding of HIV-associated gut microbial dysbiosis in children perinatally-infected with HIV (CLWH) lags behind that of adults living with HIV. Childhood represents a critical window for the gut microbiota. Any disturbances, including prolonged exposure to HIV, antiretroviral drugs, and antibiotics are likely to have a significant impact on long-term health, resulting in a less resilient gut microbiome. The objective of our study was to characterize the gut microbiota in CLWH, and compare it with HIV-unexposed and -uninfected children. Methods We enrolled 31 children aged 3 to 15 years; 15 were CLWH and 16 were HUU. We assessed dietary patterns and quality; quantified soluble and cellular markers of HIV disease progression by flow cytometry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent and multiplex-bead assays, and profiled the gut microbiota by 16S rRNA sequencing. We explored relationships between the gut microbiota, antibiotic exposure, dietary habits, soluble and cellular markers and host metadata. Results Children had a Western-type diet, their median health eating index score was 67.06 (interquartile range 58.76-74.66). We found no discernable impact of HIV on the gut microbiota. Alpha diversity metrics did not differ between CLWH and HUU. Sex impacted the gut microbiota (R-squared= 0.052, PERMANOVA p=0.024). Male children had higher microbial richness compared with female children. Two taxa were found to discriminate female from male children independently from HIV status: Firmicutes for males, and Bacteroides for females. Markers of HIV disease progression were comparable between CLWH and HUU, except for the frequency of exhausted CD4+ T cells (PD-1+) which was increased in CLWH (p=0.0024 after adjusting for confounders). Both the frequency of exhausted CD4+ and activated CD4+ T cells (CD38+ HLADR+) correlated positively with the relative abundance of Proteobacteria (rho=0.568. false discovery rate (FDR)-adjusted p= 0.029, and rho=0.62, FDR-adjusted p=0.0126, respectively). Conclusion The gut microbiota of CLWH appears similar to that of HUU, and most markers of HIV disease progression are normalized with long-term ART, suggesting a beneficial effect of the latter on the gut microbial ecology. The relationship between exhausted and activated CD4+ T cells and Proteobacteria suggests a connection between the gut microbiome, and premature aging in CLWH.

Abstract
Early antiretroviral treatment (ART) in vertically acquired HIV-1-infection is associated with a rapid viral suppression, small HIV-1 reservoir, reduced morbimortality and preserved immune functions. We investigated the miRNA profile from vertically acquired HIV-1-infected young adults based on ART initiation delay and its association with the immune system activation. Using a microRNA panel and multiparametric flow cytometry, miRNome profile obtained from peripheral blood mononuclear cells and its association with adaptive and innate immune components were studied on vertically HIV-1-infected young adults who started ART early (EARLY, 0-53 weeks after birth) and later (LATE, 120-300 weeks). miR-1248 and miR-155-5p, were significantly upregulated in EARLY group compared with LATE group, while miR-501-3p, miR-548d-5p, miR-18a-3p and miR-296-5p were significantly downregulated in EARLY treated group of patients. Strong correlations were obtained between miRNAs levels and soluble biochemical biomarkers and immunological parameters including CD4 T-cell count and maturation by CD69 expression on CD4 T-cells and activation by HLA-DR on CD16high NK cell subsets for miR-1248 and miR-155-5p. In this preliminary study, a distinct miRNA signature discriminates early treated HIV-1-infected young adults. The role of those miRNAs target genes in the modulation of HIV-1 replication and latency may reveal new host signaling pathways that could be manipulated in antiviral strategies. Correlations between miRNAs levels and inflammatory and immunological markers highlight those miRNAs as potential biomarkers for immune inflammation and activation in HIV-1-infected young adults who initiated a late ART.

Abstract
CD8+ T lymphocytes are a heterogeneous class of cells that play a crucial role in the adaptive immune response against pathogens and cancer. During their lifetime, they acquire cytotoxic functions to ensure the clearance of infected or transformed cells and, in addition, they turn into memory lymphocytes, thus providing a long-term protection. During ageing, the thymic involution causes a reduction of circulating T cells and an enrichment of memory cells, partially explaining the lowering of the response towards novel antigens with implications in vaccine efficacy. Moreover, the persistent stimulation by several antigens throughout life favors the switching of CD8+ T cells towards a senescent phenotype contributing to a low-grade inflammation that is a major component of several ageing-related diseases. In genetically predisposed young people, an immunological stress caused by viral infections (e.g., HIV, CMV, SARS-CoV-2), autoimmune disorders or tumor microenvironment (TME) could mimic the ageing status with the consequent acceleration of T cell senescence. This, in turn, exacerbates the inflamed conditions with dramatic effects on the clinical progression of the disease. A better characterization of the phenotype as well as the functions of senescent CD8+ T cells can be pivotal to prevent age-related diseases, to improve vaccine strategies and, possibly, immunotherapies in autoimmune diseases and cancer.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION Adolescents living with HIV are subject to multiple co-morbidities, including growth retardation and immunodeficiency. We describe growth and CD4 evolution during adolescence using data from the Collaborative Initiative for Paediatric HIV Education and Research (CIPHER) global project. METHODS Data were collected between 1994 and 2015 from 11 CIPHER networks worldwide. Adolescents with perinatally acquired HIV infection (APH) who initiated antiretroviral therapy (ART) before age 10 years, with at least one height or CD4 count measurement while aged 10-17 years, were included. Growth was measured using height-for-age Z-scores (HAZ, stunting if <-2 SD, WHO growth charts). Linear mixed-effects models were used to study the evolution of each outcome between ages 10 and 17. For growth, sex-specific models with fractional polynomials were used to model non-linear relationships for age at ART initiation, HAZ at age 10 and time, defined as current age from 10 to 17 years of age. RESULTS A total of 20,939 and 19,557 APH were included for the growth and CD4 analyses, respectively. Half were females, two-thirds lived in East and Southern Africa, and median age at ART initiation ranged from <3 years in North America and Europe to >7 years in sub-Saharan African regions. At age 10, stunting ranged from 6% in North America and Europe to 39% in the Asia-Pacific; 19% overall had CD4 counts <500 cells/mm3 . Across adolescence, higher HAZ was observed in females and among those in high-income countries. APH with stunting at age 10 and those with late ART initiation (after age 5) had the largest HAZ gains during adolescence, but these gains were insufficient to catch-up with non-stunted, early ART-treated adolescents. From age 10 to 16 years, mean CD4 counts declined from 768 to 607 cells/mm3 . This decline was observed across all regions, in males and females. CONCLUSIONS Growth patterns during adolescence differed substantially by sex and region, while CD4 patterns were similar, with an observed CD4 decline that needs further investigation. Early diagnosis and timely initiation of treatment in early childhood to prevent growth retardation and immunodeficiency are critical to improving APH growth and CD4 outcomes by the time they reach adulthood.

Abstract
Before the antiretroviral therapy (ART) era, people living with HIV (PLWH) experienced complications due to AIDS more so than aging. With ART and the extended lifespan of PLWH, HIV comorbidities also include aging-most likely due to accelerated aging-as well as a cardiovascular, neurocognitive disorders, lung and kidney disease, and malignancies. The broad evidence suggests that HIV with ART is associated with accentuated aging, and that the age-related comorbidities occur earlier, due in part to chronic immune activation, co-infections, and possibly the effects of ART alone. Normally the immune system undergoes alterations of lymphocyte and monocyte populations with aging, that include diminished naïve T- and B-lymphocyte numbers, a reliance on memory lymphocytes, and a skewed production of myeloid cells leading to age-related inflammation, termed "inflamm-aging". Specifically, absolute numbers and relative proportions of monocytes and monocyte subpopulations are skewed with age along with myeloid mitochondrial dysfunction, resulting in increased accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Additionally, an increase in biomarkers of myeloid activation (IL-6, sCD14, and sCD163) occurs with chronic HIV infection and with age, and may contribute to immunosenescence. Chronic HIV infection accelerates aging; meanwhile, ART treatment may slow age-related acceleration, but is not sufficient to stop aging or age-related comorbidities. Overall, a better understanding of the mechanisms behind accentuated aging with HIV and the effects of myeloid activation and turnover is needed for future therapies.

Abstract
Introduction Persistence of HIV‐1, causing chronic immune activation, is a key determinant of premature senescence. Early antiretroviral therapy (ART) has been associated with a reduced HIV‐1 reservoir in children with perinatally acquired HIV‐1 (PHIV), but its impact on the senescence process is an open question. We investigated the association between HIV‐1 reservoir and biological and immune ageing profile in PHIV enrolled in the multicentre cross‐sectional study CARMA (Child and Adolescent Reservoir Measurements on early suppressive ART) conducted within the EPIICAL (Early treated Perinatally HIV Infected individuals: Improving Children's Actual Life) consortium. Methods Between September 2017 and June 2018, CARMA enrolled 40 PHIV who started ART before 2 years of age and had undetectable viremia for at least 5 years before sampling date. Samples from 37 children with a median age of 13.8 years were available for this study. HIV‐1 DNA copies on CD4 cells, relative telomere length (marker of cellular senescence) and levels of T‐cell receptor rearrangement excision circle (TREC, marker of thymic output) on CD4 and CD8 cells were quantified by qPCR. Immunological profile was assessed by flow cytometry. Associations between molecular and phenotypic markers, HIV‐1 reservoir and age at ART initiation were explored using a multivariable Poisson regression. Results Higher HIV‐1 reservoir was associated (p<0.001) with telomere shortening (incidence rate ratio [IRR] = 0.15 [0.13–0.17]), immunosenescence (CD28–CD57+, IRR = 1.23 [1.21–1.26]) and immunoactivation (CD38+ HLADR+, IRR = 7.29 [6.58–8.09]) of CD4 cells. Late ART initiation (after 6 months of age) correlated with higher HIV‐1 reservoir levels (552 [303–1001] vs. 89 [56–365] copies/106 CD4 cells, p = 0.003) and percentage of CD4 senescent cells (2.89 [1.95–6.31] vs. 1.02 [0.45–2.69, p = 0.047). TREC levels in CD8 cells were inversely associated with HIV‐1 reservoir (IRR = 0.77 [0.76–0.79]) and were significantly lower in late treated PHIV (1128 [486–1671] vs. 2278 [1425–3314], p = 0.042). Conclusions Later ART initiation is associated with higher HIV‐1 reservoir size, which correlates with increased telomere shortening and senescence of CD4 cells. Timing of ART initiation in infancy has long‐term consequences on the immune and biological ageing profile of children with perinatally acquired HIV‐1.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Philosophical-scientific correlations described in previous studies suggest that the genome can be the biological representation of the vital force, whilst the disease-promoting epigenetic alterations would be the biological representation of the chronic miasmas. In this study, we expand the functional correlation between vital force and chromosomes, describing the mechanism of action of the telomere-telomerase complex in the context of physiological balance. AIMS The aim of the work is to study the role of the telomere-telomerase complex in cell vitality, biological aging, and the health-disease process, with the goal of proposing the use of telomere length as a biomarker of the vital force state and the effectiveness of homeopathic treatment. RESULTS Similar to the vital force, telomere length and telomerase enzyme activity play an important role in maintaining cellular vitality, biological longevity, and physiological homeostasis. Telomere shortening functions as a biomarker of vital imbalance and is associated with numerous diseases and health disorders. On the other hand, health-promotion practices neutralize the pathological shortening of the telomeres, acting therapeutically in diseases or age-dependent health disorders. CONCLUSIONS As a hypothetical biomarker of the vital force state, an intra-individual analysis of the mean leukocyte telomere length before, during, and after homeopathic treatment can be used as a biomarker of therapeutic effectiveness.

Abstract
Introduction Immune abnormalities have been described among youth with vertically acquired HIV (YWVH) despite antiretroviral treatment (ART). The CD4/CD8 ratio could be a useful prognostic marker. We assess immune activation and senescence in a cohort of YWVH in comparison to youth without vertically acquired HIV. Methods YWVH under suppressive ART were included and compared to a group of HIV‐negative donors (HD) matched by age and sex, from September 2019 to September 2020. Subset distribution and expression of activation, maturation, senescence and exhaustion markers on T and NK cells were studied on peripheral blood mononuclear cells by multiparametric flow cytometry. Results Thirty‐two YWVH (median age: 24.4 years (interquartile range: 22.5 to 28.3 years)) were included. Among YWVH, CD4‐ and CD8‐T cells showed high levels of activation (HLA‐DR/CD38), IL‐7 receptor expression (CD127) and exhaustion (TIM‐3). Regarding NK cells, YWVH showed increased levels of activation and exhaustion markers compared to HD. Strong inverted correlations were observed between T‐cell activation (HLA‐DR/CD38), senescence (CD57) and exhaustion (TIGIT, PD‐1) levels with the CD4/CD8 ratio among YWVH. HLA‐DR, CD69, NKG2D and NKG2A expression levels on NK cells also correlated with the CD4/CD8 ratio. Age at ART initiation was directly associated with higher frequency of CD16high NK‐cell subsets, exhaustion T‐cell levels (CD57, TIM3) and NK cells activation levels. Conclusions Immunological changes associated with vertically acquired HIV, characterized by increased activation and exhaustion levels in innate and adaptive immune components, are only partially restored by ART. The CD4/CD8 ratio can be a useful marker of disease progression for routine clinical practice.

Abstract
COVID-19 has proliferated ageism. The impetus of this article is to show that immunosenescence is a risk factor to COVID-19 and not aging per se. Based on the idea that some older people are also healthier than younger ones, the emphasis of this article is on immunosenescence and not aging as a risk factor of COVID-19 complications. The paper utilizes a biopsychosocial approach to expound on the link between immunosenescence and COVID-19 risk factors. The article explores biological factors such as malnutrition, comorbidities, substance abuse, and sex. It also expands on psychosocial factors such as mental health disorders, homelessness, unemployment, lack of physical exercises, stigma, and discrimination. The article calls for gerontological social work to assume a developmental-clinical social work perspective to prevent the early onset and progression of immunosenescence. It calls for gerontological social work to prevent factors that promote unhealthy aging. The article promotes a preventative stance to practice and not just curative approaches. Treatment involves primary prevention which emphasizes on avoiding the onset of unhealthy aging. It is this approach that gerontological social work should aim also to address in building resilience in the face of pandemics.

Abstract
Aging results in substantial changes in almost all cellular subpopulations within the immune system, including functional and phenotypic alterations. T lymphocytes, as the main representative population of cellular immunity, have been extensively studied in terms of modifications and adjustments during aging. Phenotypic alterations are attributed to three main mechanisms; a reduction of naïve T cell population with a shift to more differentiated forms, a subsequent oligoclonal expansion of naïve T cells characterized by repertoire restriction, and replicative insufficiency after repetitive activation. These changes and the subsequent phenotypic disorders are comprised in the term "immunosenescence". Similar changes seem to occur in chronic kidney disease, with T cells of young patients resembling those of healthy older individuals. A broad range of surface markers can be utilized to identify immunosenescent T cells. In this review, we will discuss the most important senescence markers and their potential connection with impaired renal function.
