Abstract
The presence of cancer stem cells (CSCs) is one of the primary causes of recurring therapy resistance because they have two main capacities: self-renewal and avoiding apoptotic pathways. Despite their relevance, no full bibliometric analysis has yet been done in this topic. The goal of this work is to use bibliometric analysis to map the fundamental and emergent areas in therapeutics targeting colon cancer stem cells. To perform bibliometric analysis on colon cancer stem cells (CCSCs) literature, spanning roughly the last 40 years, in order to establish a firm base for future projections by emphasizing the findings of the most notable research. All information pertinent to CCSCs was accessed from Web of Science Core Collection database. In order to identify and analyze the research hotspots and trends related to this topic, Biblioshiny (RStudio) and VOSviewer were utilized to ascertain the countries/regions, institutions, journals, authors, references, and keywords involved. The targeted time span covered 1735 research-, and review articles. The most frequent keywords were "colorectal cancer," "cancer stem cells," and "colon cancer," while the most trending keywords in the last few years were "protein stability," "spheroid formation," "ubiquitination," "exosomes," "patient-derived organoids," and "gut microbiota." Over the past 40 years, there has been a significant advancement in researchers' understanding of colon cancer stem cells. In addition, the cluster map of co-cited literature showed that colon cancer stem cell research has emerged as a research hotspot. It was also anticipated that the main focus of the future efforts appears to involve clinical applications of cell-targeted colon cancer therapy. These results provide researchers with a comprehensive understanding of this field and provide insightful ideas for further research.

Abstract
This study aimed to analyze and visualize the research on type B aortic dissection (TBAD) over the past 20 years through bibliometric research. To reveal the development process of TBAD research and the transitions of research hotspots. Literatures was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. The analysis utilized tools such as Microsoft Office Excel, VOSviewer and CiteSpace for bibliometric mapping and visualization, including assessing publication volumes and constructing collaborative networks and keyword burst graphs. A total of 1391 related articles or reviews on TBAD were included. The number of annual publications is steadily increasing. China was the top country in terms of the number of publications. University of Michigan (n = 60) was the most productive university. The Journal of Vascular Surgery (n = 183) was the most published and co-cited journal. Keywords burst analysis showed that "guidelines", "spinal-cord ischemia", "society", "impact", and "aortic remodeling" were the most frequently used keywords in recent years. In general, the research focus of TBAD has gradually changed from selecting the surgical method to the best clinical management and patient prognosis after thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR). Promoting positive aortic remodeling and aortic hemodynamics may be the research hotspots in the future.

Abstract
Background Tumor-associated neutrophils (TANs) play crucial roles in tumor progression, immune response modulation, and the therapeutic outcomes. Despite significant advancements in TAN research, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis that objectively presents the current status and trends in this field is lacking. This study aims to fill this gap by visually analyzing global trends in TANs research using bibliometric and knowledge mapping techniques. Methods We retrieved articles and reviews related to TANs from the Web of Science core collection database, spanning the period from 2012 to2024. The data was analyzed using bibliometric tools such as Excel 365, CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Bibliometrix (R-Tool of R-Studio) to identify key trends, influential countries and institutions, collaborative networks. and citation patterns. Results A total of 6l5 publications were included in the bibliometric analysis, showing a significant upward trend in TANs research over the last two decades. The United States and China emerged as the leading contributors with the highest number of publications and citations. The journal with the most publications in this field is Frontiers in Immunology, Prominent authors such as Fridlender ZG was identified as the key contributor, with his works frequently cited. The analysis highlighted major research themes. including the role of TANs in tumor microenvironment modulation, their dual functions in tumor promotion and suppression, and the exploration of TANs-targeted therapies, Emerging research hotspots include studies on TANs plasticity and their interactions with other immune cells. Conclusion This study is the first to employ bibliometric methods to visualize trends and frontiers in TANs research. The findings provide valuable insights into the evolution of the field, highlighting critical areas for future investigation and potential collaborative opportunities. This comprehensive analysis serves as a crucial resource for researchers and practitioners aiming to advance TAN research and its application in cancer therapy.

Abstract
Background Nanomedicine has received much attention for its potential applications in the diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer. However, no bibliometric evaluation has been conducted to present an assessment of scientific progress in the field. The aim of this study is to comprehensively catalog the cooperation and influence of journals, countries, institutions, and authors in the field of nanomedicine in liver cancer from the perspective of bibliometrics, evaluate the clustering evolution of knowledge structure, and uncover hot topics and emerging themes. Methods Articles and reviews related to nanomedicine and liver cancer were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Literature Library using Topic Search. #1 T= ("Hepatic Neoplasm*" OR "Liver Neoplasm" OR "Liver Cancer*" OR "Hepatocellular Cancer*" OR "Hepatic Cancer*"), #2 T= "nano*", the search strategy is set as #1 AND #2 limited to Science Citation Index Expanded database source, with no limitation of publication types and language/time. Bibliometric studies were conducted using CiteSpace and VOSviewer. Results 2,648 articles and reviews were included from 2000 to 2024. The number of articles regarding nanomedicine in liver cancer showed an increasing trend. Analysis of the most productive journals shows that most are specialized in nanoscience and nanotechnology, pharmacology and pharmacy, and chemistry and multidisciplinary. These publications mainly come from 8,782 institutions in 297 countries led by China and the United States of America. Shao D published the most papers among the publications, while Jemal A had the most co-citations. The macroscopical sketch and micro-representation of the whole knowledge field are realized through co-citation analysis. Hepatocellular carcinoma, targeted delivery, sorafenib nanoparticles, and others are current and developing areas of study. The keywords "nanocrystals," "biodistribution," and "particles" also may be the focus of new trends and future research. Conclusion In this study, bibliometrics and visual methods were used to review the research of nanomedicine in liver cancer comprehensively. The article will help scholars to gain a better understanding of the dynamic evolution of nanomedicine applications in liver cancer and point the directions for future research.

Abstract
Background Understanding how artificial intelligence (AI) is employed to predict, diagnose, and perform relevant analyses in Alzheimer's disease research is a rapidly evolving field. This study integrated and analyzed the relevant literature from the Science Citation Index (SCI) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) on the application of AI in Alzheimer's disease (AD), covering publications from 2004 to 2023. Objective This study aims to identify the key research hotspots and trends of the application of AI in AD over the past 20 years through a bibliometric analysis. Methods Using the Web of Science Core Collection database, we conducted a comprehensive visual analysis of literature on AI and AD published between January 1, 2004, and December 31, 2023. The study utilized Excel, Scimago Graphica, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace software to visualize trends in annual publications and the distribution of research by countries, institutions, journals, references, authors, and keywords related to this topic. Results A total of 2,316 papers were obtained through the research process, with a significant increase in publications observed since 2018, signaling notable growth in this field. The United States, China, and the United Kingdom made notable contributions to this research area. The University of London led in institutional productivity with 80 publications, followed by the University of California System with 74 publications. Regarding total publications, the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease was the most prolific while Neuroimage ranked as the most cited journal. Shen Dinggang was the top author in both total publications and average citations. Analysis of reference and keyword highlighted research hotspots, including the identification of various stages of AD, early diagnostic screening, risk prediction, and prediction of disease progression. The "task analysis" keyword emerged as a research frontier from 2021 to 2023. Conclusion Research on AI applications in AD holds significant potential for practical advancements, attracting increasing attention from scholars. Deep learning (DL) techniques have emerged as a key research focus for AD diagnosis. Future research will explore AI methods, particularly task analysis, emphasizing integrating multimodal data and utilizing deep neural networks. These approaches aim to identify emerging risk factors, such as environmental influences on AD onset, predict disease progression with high accuracy, and support the development of prevention strategies. Ultimately, AI-driven innovations will transform AD management from a progressive, incurable state to a more manageable and potentially reversible condition, thereby improving healthcare, rehabilitation, and long-term care solutions.

Abstract
Background The rapid aging of the global population presents pressing public health challenges, notably an increase in suicide rates among older adults. Despite this critical issue, there is a scarcity of comprehensive assessments regarding the existing literature on suicide within this demographic. This study seeks to employ bibliometric analysis and knowledge mapping to elucidate prevailing research trends and the overall status of this field. Methods We performed a comprehensive computer-based search of the Web of Science Core Collection to identify relevant articles and reviews concerning suicide in the elderly. A bibliometric analysis was conducted, examining various aspects including countries or regions, institutions, authors, journals, keywords, and references. This analysis utilized tools such as CiteSpace, VOSViewer, Pajek, and Excel 365 to facilitate a thorough assessment. Results The analysis covered 1,116 publications from 2005 to 2024. The annual number of publications showed a fluctuating upward trend, with notable decreases in 2007, 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2022, and increases in 2009, 2013, 2016, and 2019, peaking at 121 in 2021, with citations reaching 4,741 in 2022, but declining since then. The United States stands out as the most productive and influential country in the field, boasting the highest number of publications and citations. The country is home to institutions leading in both publication and citation metrics. Prominent authors contributing significantly to this domain include Conwell Yeates, Van Orden Kimberly A., and Waern Margda. Key journals disseminating crucial research are the Journal of Affective Disorders, American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry, and Lancet. Frequent keywords in this field encompass depression, suicidal ideation, suicide, older-adults, risk, risk factors, prevalence, older adults, ideation, behavior, health, mental health, life, age, people, prevention, symptoms, scale, population, and elderly. The contemporary research emphasis is primarily on identifying, treating, and preventing the suicide risk associated with depression in older adults. Conclusions This study highlights the growing research focus on suicide in older adults, particularly related to depression and the identification, treatment, and prevention of suicide risk. The findings underscore the need for targeted prevention strategies and further investigation in this critical public health area.

Abstract
Background Gynecological cancers are characterized by uncontrolled cell proliferation within the female reproductive organs. These cancers pose a significant threat to women's health, impacting life expectancy, quality of life, and fertility. Nanoparticles, with their small size, large surface area, and high permeability, have become a key focus in targeted cancer therapy. The aim of this study is to review recent advancements in nanoparticles applied to gynecologic cancers, providing valuable insights for future research. Methods We retrieved all literature on nanoparticles in gynecologic cancers from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database between January 1, 2004, and June 4, 2024. Data analysis and visualization were conducted using R software (version 4.4.0), VOSviewer (version 1.6.19.0), and CiteSpace (version 6.1). Results A total of 2,843 publications from January 1, 2004, to June 4, 2024 were searched. Over the past 20 years, there has been a significant increase in publications. The leading countries and institutions in terms of productivity are China and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The most prolific author and the most co-cited author are Sood, A K and Siegel, Rl. The top journals are the International Journal of Nanomedicine (n=97), followed by ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (n=72) and Journal of Materials Chemistry B (n=53). Keyword analysis shows current research focuses on two main areas: the application of nanoparticles for drug delivery and their broader applications in gynecologic cancers. Future research will likely focus on "silver nanoparticles," "gold nanoparticles," and "green synthesis." Conclusions Over the past two decades, nanoparticles have rapidly advanced in the field of gynecologic cancers. Research has primarily focused on the applications of nanoparticles in drug delivery and applications. Future trends point toward optimizing synthesis techniques and advancing preclinical studies to clinical applications, particularly for silver and gold nanoparticles. These findings provide valuable scientific insights for researchers.

Abstract
An increasing body of research indicates that immunotherapy has demonstrated substantial effectiveness in the realm of metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC), especially among patients with deficient mismatch repair (dMMR) or microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) (dMMR/MSI-H mCRC). This study constitutes the inaugural bibliometric and visual analysis of immunotherapy related to mCRC during the last decade. Between 2013 and the conclusion of 2022, we screened 306 articles from Web of Science and subjected them to analysis using CiteSpace and VOSviewer. The United States stood out as the primary contributor in this area, representing 33.33% of the publications, with China following closely at 24.51%. The most prolific institution has the lowest average citation rate. Sorbonne University were the most highly cited institutions. Notably, Frontiers In Oncology published the largest quantity of articles. Andre, Thierry, and Overman, Michael J. were prominent authors known for their prolific output and the high citation rates of their work. The focus areas in this field encompass "tumor microenvironment," "liver metastasis," "tumor-associated macrophages," "combination therapy" and "gut microbiota." Some keywords offer promise as potential biomarkers for evaluating the effectiveness of immunotherapeutic interventions.

Abstract
Immunotherapy has emerged as a crucial advancement in pulmonary carcinoma treatment. Nevertheless, its unique side effects not only reduce patients' quality of life but also affect treatment efficacy, with severe cases potentially endangering the patient's life. This study uses bibliometric analysis to perform a comprehensive bibliometric analysis literature on IRAEs in lung cancer from 1991 to 2023, retrieved from the Web of Science database. The dataset was analyzed using VOSviewer and CiteSpace to identify trends, key contributors, and emerging research areas. A total of 124 publications were analyzed, revealing a notable increase in research activity post-2015, with China and the USA contributing over 50% of the studies. This research highlights the importance of understanding IRAEs and suggests future investigations into the pulmonary microbiota and tumor microenvironment.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is an effective treatment for end-stage knee osteoarthritis, and postoperative rehabilitation is crucial. However, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of this area has yet to emerge. This study aims to visualize the research trends in postoperative rehabilitation after TKA through bibliometric analysis and explore current research frontiers and hotspots. METHODS Publications related to postoperative rehabilitation following TKA were identified and extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used for bibliometric and visualization analysis. RESULTS From January 1, 2000, to December 31, 2022, a total of 1,422 articles on TKA postoperative rehabilitation were identified from the database. The number of publications and citations showed steady growth during this period. The United States was the major contributor in this field, with the University of Colorado being the most active institution domestically. J Arthroplasty ranked first in both publication volume and total citations among all journals. Stevens-Lapsley, JE, and Mizner, RL were the two most influential authors. Reference and keyword analyses suggest that remote or home-based rehabilitation, the development of novel prehabilitation techniques, and pain management hold significant research potential, constituting current research hotspots. CONCLUSION This study quantitatively identified and assessed the current research status and trends in perioperative rehabilitation management for TKA through bibliometric and visualization analyses. It provides essential information for scholars in the field of TKA postoperative rehabilitation research, highlighting key research frontiers and trends.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Primary liver cancer, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma, is one of the most common gastrointestinal cancers. An increasing number of studies indicate that nanomaterials play a significant role in the diagnosis and treatment of liver cancer. However, despite the extensive and diverse research on nanomaterials and liver cancer, bibliometric studies in this field have not yet been reported. This study aims to comprehensively evaluate the application prospects and development trends of nanomaterials in primary liver cancer over the past 20 years. By elucidating the current state of research on liver cancer, we intend to provide valuable reference information for researchers in this field. METHODS We conducted a comprehensive search of the Web of Science Core Collection for publications related to liver cancer and nanomaterials from January 1, 2004, to December 31, 2023. Relevant literature was selected based on specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. These selected publications were subsequently analyzed using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and the R package "bibliometrix" to identify trends, influential countries, institutions, authors, journals, and research hotspots in this field. RESULTS This study included a total of 1641 publications, with an annual growth rate of 25.45%. China and the United States are leading in this field, accounting for 67.46% and 11.27% of the total publications, respectively. The Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shao D are the most cited institution and author, respectively. The International Journal of Nanomedicine is the most influential journal in this field, while Biomaterials is the most highly cited and co-cited journal. Research hotspots mainly focus on improving drug delivery efficiency, inducing cancer cell apoptosis, photodynamic therapy, photothermal therapy, and combination treatments. Emerging research directions include the tumor microenvironment, polyethylene glycol, and immunogenic cell death. CONCLUSION The results of this study indicate that the application of nanomaterials in the field of liver cancer is gradually becoming a significant research area, with a focus on improving drug delivery efficiency, enhancing therapeutic efficacy, and reducing side effects.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Globally, pre-eclampsia (PE) poses a major threat to the health and survival of pregnant women and fetuses, contributing significantly to morbidity and mortality. Recent studies suggest a pathological link between PE and ferroptosis. We aim to utilize non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) clustering and machine learning algorithms to pinpoint disease-specific genes related to the process of ferroptosis in PE and investigate likely underlying biochemistry mechanisms. METHODS The acquisition of four microarray datasets from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) repository, the integration of these datasets, and the elimination of batch effects formed the core procedure. Genes related to ferroptosis in PE (DE-FRG) were identified. NMF clustering was performed on DE-FRG for unsupervised analysis, generating a heatmap for clustering validation via principal component analysis. Immunocyte infiltration differences between different subtypes were compared to elucidate the impact of ferroptosis on immune infiltration in the placental tissue of PE patients. The application of weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) revealed important module genes linked to sample subtypes and disease status. The screening of PE feature genes involved employing SVM, RF, GLM, and XGB machine learning algorithms, and their predictive performance was validated using various analyses and an external dataset. The iRegulon tool was utilized to predict upstream transcription factors associated with ferroptosis feature genes, from which differentially expressed transcription factors were screened to construct a "Transcription Factor-FRG-ferroptosis" regulatory network. Finally, in vitro (cultured cells) and in vivo (rat) models were utilized to evaluate the regulatory mechanisms of ferroptosis in normal and PE placental tissues. RESULTS Differential analysis of the four merged GEO datasets identified 41 DE-FRGs. NMF clustering based on DE-FRGs revealed two PE subtypes. Immunocyte infiltration analysis indicated significant differences in immune levels between these subtypes. Further WGCNA analysis identified module genes associated with PE and these two subtypes. Subsequently, we developed an integrated machine learning model incorporating five FRGs and validated its predictive efficacy using various analyses and an external validation dataset. Finally, based on the transcription factor ARID3A and ferroptosis feature genes EPHB3 and PAPPA2, we constructed a "Transcription Factor-FRG-ferroptosis" regulatory network, with in vitro and in vivo experiments confirming that ARID3A promotes the progression of PE and ferroptosis by activating the expression of EPHB3 and PAPPA2. CONCLUSION This analytical journey illuminated a critical regulatory nexus in PE, underscoring the central influence of ARID3A on PE through ferroptosis-mediated pathways.

Abstract
Background and Aims Increasing interest in hypnotherapy's application for a wide range of health conditions has spurred a rise in global research and publications. This study aims to visualize development patterns and current research hotspots in clinical hypnotherapy practice using scientometric methods, and to predict future research directions based on the keyword trending topics analysis. Methods Data on hypnotherapy applications and mechanisms in clinical settings between 1994 and 2023 were gathered from Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed, followed by analysis and visualization using the VOSviewer, Bibliometrix package in R, and CiteSpace. Results A total of 1,549 publications were examined, indicating a steady annual increase with an average growth rate of 8.5%, reaching a high of 134 publications in 2022. The United States was the primary research hub. Collectively, 1,464 distinct institutions involving 3,195 scholars contributed to this research theme. Collaboration was predominantly confined to the same country, institution, and/or research team. High-frequency keywords included "Pain", "Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)", and "Anxiety". Systematic review and/or meta-analysis have emerged as favored research methods. fMRI and EEG were commonly used techniques for exploring the neuropsychological mechanisms underlying hypnotherapy. "Self-Hypnosis", "Virtual Reality", and "Meditation" were predicted as trending topics, indicating that patients' self-managed hypnosis practice, virtual reality hypnotherapy, and exploration of the variations in mechanisms between meditation and hypnotherapy might be emerging topics and/or future key research directions within the current field. Conclusion The use of hypnotherapy for diverse clinical issues, particularly pain, IBS, and comorbid anxiety, is garnering global attention. The evidence-based approach is widely used to assess the quality of clinical evidence for hypnotherapy. Researchers are keen on innovating traditional hetero-hypnosis, with a shift towards more cost-effective self-hypnosis and immersive virtual reality hypnotherapy. Promoting and reinforcing collaborative research efforts across countries, institutions, and teams is warranted.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES Intestinal ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury is a multifactorial and complex clinical pathophysiological process. Current research indicates that the pathogenesis of intestinal I/R injury involves various mechanisms, including ferroptosis. Methane saline (MS) has been demonstrated to primarily exert anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects in I/R injury. In this study, we mainly investigated the effect of MS on ferroptosis in intestinal I/R injury and determined its potential mechanism. METHODS In vivo and in vitro intestinal I/R injury models were established to validate the relationship between ferroptosis and intestinal I/R injury. MS treatment was applied to assess its impact on intestinal epithelial cell damage, intestinal barrier disruption, and ferroptosis. RESULTS MS treatment led to a reduction in I/R-induced intestinal epithelial cell damage and intestinal barrier disruption. Moreover, similar to treatment with ferroptosis inhibitors, MS treatment reduced ferroptosis in I/R, as indicated by a decrease in the levels of intracellular pro-ferroptosis factors, an increase in the levels of anti-ferroptosis factors, and alleviation of mitochondrial damage. Additionally, the expression of Nrf2/HO-1 was significantly increased after MS treatment. However, the intestinal protective and ferroptosis inhibitory effects of MS were diminished after the use of M385 to inhibit Nrf2 in mice or si-Nrf2 in Caco-2 cells. DISCUSSION We proved that intestinal I/R injury was mitigated by MS and that the underlying mechanism involved modulating the Nrf2/HO-1 signaling pathway to decrease ferroptosis. MS could be a promising treatment for intestinal I/R injury.

Abstract
CONTEXT Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is effective as a cancer treatment modality. However, this is the first bibliometric analysis of TCM in lymphoma treatment. OBJECTIVE This study explores the current trends and research topics of TCM in treating lymphoma from 2000 to 2023. MATERIALS AND METHODS We searched within the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) for publications on TCM in lymphoma treatment, spanning 2000 to 2023. Subsequently, we employed a comprehensive approach utilizing CiteSpace software and VOSviewer to visually analyze research trends, authors, institutions, co-cited references, and keywords. RESULTS From January 1, 2000, to August 31, 2023, annual scientific publications on TCM for lymphoma treatment have steadily increased. Among the leading institutions in this field, the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the Fujian Medical University occupied the top positions. Regarding the authors, Jun Peng, Jiumao Lin, and Hongwei Chen emerged as the top three contributors. In the co-citation analysis of references, the top three co-cited references were authored by Hanahan D, Elmore S, and Livak KJ with citations numbered 13, 14, and 17, respectively. In particular, keywords reflecting current emerging trends included 'pathway', 'traditional Chinese medicine', 'oxidative stress', and 'macrophage polarization'. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSIONS This bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive overview of TCM for lymphoma treatment. This analysis identified the predominant trends and research topics in the field. The findings are expected to be of significant value for researchers who focus on TCM in lymphoma treatment, helping them better understand the development of this field.

Abstract
Background Neurodegenerative diseases are progressive disorders that severely diminish the quality of life of patients. However, research on neurodegenerative diseases needs to be refined and deepened. Single-cell polyomics is a technique for obtaining transcriptomic, proteomic, and other information from a single cell. In recent years, the heat of single-cell multiomics as an emerging research tool for brain science has gradually increased. Therefore, the aim of this study was to analyze the current status and trends of studies related to the application of single-cell multiomics in neurodegenerative diseases through bibliometrics. Result A total of 596 publications were included in the bibliometric analysis. Between 2015 and 2022, the number of publications increased annually, with the total number of citations increasing significantly, exhibiting the fastest rate of growth between 2019 and 2022. The country/region collaboration map shows that the United States has the most publications and cumulative citations, and that China and the United States have the most collaborations. The institutions that produced the greatest number of articles were Harvard Medical School, Skupin, Alexander, and Wiendl. Among the authors, Heinz had the highest output. Mathys, H accumulated the most citations and was the authoritative author in the field. The journal Nature Communications has published the most literature in this field. A keyword analysis reveals that neurodegenerative diseases and lesions (e.g., Alzheimer's disease, amyloid beta) are the core and foundation of the field. Conversely, single-cell multiomics related research (e.g., single-cell RNA sequencing, bioinformatics) and brain nerve cells (e.g., microglia, astrocytes, neural stem cells) are the hot frontiers of this specialty. Among the references, the article "Single-cell transcriptomic analysis of Alzheimer's disease" is the most frequently cited (1,146 citations), and the article "Cell types in the mouse cortex and hippocampus revealed by single-cell RNA-seq" was the most cited article in the field. Conclusion The objective of this study is to employ bibliometric methods to visualize studies related to single-cell multiomics in neurodegenerative diseases. This will enable us to summarize the current state of research and to reveal key trends and emerging hotspots in the field.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Hemodialysis (HD)-related nursing research has been growing over the past 2 decades, providing critical insights into improving patient care and outcomes. This study aimed to visualize the hotspots and emerging frontiers in HD-related nursing research, offering valuable references for future studies. METHODS A bibliometric analysis was conducted on publications related to HD nursing research from the Web of Science Core Collection database, spanning the years 2002 to 2023, and the characteristics of literature such as authors, co-cited authors, countries, research institutions, journal distribution, keywords, and cited literature were visually analyzed using CiteSpace and VOSviewer. RESULTS A total of 1019 publications were included in this study. The major contributors to this field were the United States, China, and Australia. The University of Sao Paulo emerged as the most prolific institution. The principal contributors were the Nephrology Nursing Journal, followed by Journal of Renal Care and Journal of Clinical Nursing. The top 5 co-occurrence keywords included HD, quality of life, dialysis, chronic kidney disease, and end-stage renal disease. The burst detection of keywords showed that current research frontier trends were pain and validation. The top 5 largest clusters of cited references included research on systematic review research, nurse-led disease management program, family caregiver, end-stage renal disease, and self-care intervention. CONCLUSION This study reveals productive authors, countries and institutions, research hotspots, and trends of HD-related nursing research over the past 2 decades, offering a comprehensive overview of this field worldwide.

Abstract
Background Intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD) is a chronic disabling disease caused by degeneration of nucleus pulposus cells, decreased activity and the number of nucleus pulposus cells, decreased extracellular matrix, and infiltration of inflammatory factors, resulting in low back and leg pain. Recent studies have shown that non-surgical treatment is of great significance in reversing the progression of degenerative disc disease, and there are more relevant literature reports. However, there is no bibliometric analysis in this area. This study aimed to describe the knowledge structure and thematic trends of non-surgical treatment methods for IDD through bibliometrics. Methods Articles and reviews on non-surgical treatment of disc degeneration from 1998 to 2022 were collected on the Web of Science. VOSviewer 1.6.18, CiteSpace 6.1.R3, R package "bibliometrix" and two online analysis platforms were used for bibliometric and visual literature analysis. Results 961 articles were screened for inclusion, including 821 articles and 140 reviews. The analysis of our study shows that publications in the non-surgical treatment of disc degeneration are increasing annually, with publications coming mainly from North America and Asia, with China and the United States dominating. Huazhong Univ Sci & Technol and Wang K are the most prolific institutions and authors, respectively, and Le Maitre CL is the most co-cited author. However, there is less collaboration between institutions in different countries. Spine is both the most published and the most cited journal. According to the co-citation and co-occurrence analysis results, "mesenchymal stem cells," "exosomes," "medication," and "tissue engineering" are the current research hotspots in this field. Conclusions This study employs bibliometric analysis to explore the knowledge structure and trends of non-surgical treatments for IDD from 2013 to 2022. Key research hotspots include mesenchymal stem cells, exosomes, medication, and tissue engineering. The number of publications, especially from China and the USA, has increased significantly, though international collaboration needs improvement. Influential contributors include Wang K and the journal Spine. These findings provide a comprehensive overview and highlight important future directions for the field.

Abstract
Objective: To conduct bibliometric analysis of the application of inorganic nanomaterials to autoimmune diseases to characterize current research trends and to visualize past and emerging trends in this field in the past 15 years. Methods: The evolution and thematic trends of the application of inorganic nanomaterials to autoimmune diseases from January 1, 1985, to March 15, 2024, were analyzed by bibliometric analysis of data retrieved and extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. A total of 734 relevant reports in the literature were evaluated according to specific characteristics such as year of publication, journal, institution, country/region, references, and keywords. VOSviewer was used to build co-authorship analysis, co-occurrence analysis, co-citation analysis, and network visualization. Some important subtopics identified by bibliometric characterization are further discussed and reviewed. Result: From 2009 to 2024, annual publications worldwide increased from 11 to 95, an increase of 764%. ACS Nano published the most papers (14) with the most citations (1372). China (230 papers, 4922 citations) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (36 papers, 718 citations) are the most productive and influential country and institution, respectively. The first 100 keywords were co-clustered to form four clusters: (1) the application of inorganic nanomaterials in drug delivery, (2) the application of inorganic nano-biosensing to autoimmune diseases, (3) the use of inorganic nanomaterials for imaging applied to autoimmune diseases, and (4) the application of inorganic nanomaterials in the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Combination therapy, microvesicles, photothermal therapy (PTT), targeting, diagnostics, transdermal, microneedling, silver nanoparticles, psoriasis, and inflammatory cytokines are the latest high-frequency keywords, marking the emerging frontier of inorganic nanomaterials in the field of autoimmune diseases. Sub-topics were further discussed to help researchers determine the scope of research topics and plan research directions. Conclusion: Over the past 39 years, the application of inorganic nanotechnology to the field of autoimmune diseases shows extensive cooperation between countries and institutions, showing a continuous increase in the number of reports in the literature, and has clinical translation prospects. Future research should further improve the safety of inorganic nanomaterials, clarify the mechanism of action of nanomaterials, establish a standardized nanomaterial preparation and performance evaluation system, and ultimately achieve the goal of early detection and precise treatment of autoimmune diseases.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify related scientific outputs and emerging topics of stem cells in neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (NHIE) and cerebral palsy (CP) through bibliometrics and literature review. All relevant publications on stem cell therapy for NHIE and CP were screened from websites and analyzed research trends. VOSviewer and CiteSpace were applied to visualize and quantitatively analyze the published literature to provide objective presentation and prediction. In addition, the clinical trials, published articles, and projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China associated with stem cell therapy for NHIE and CP were summarized. A total of 294 publications were associated with stem cell therapy for NHIE and CP. Most publications and citations came from the USA and China. Monash University and University Medical Center Utrecht produced the most publications. Pediatric research published the most studies on stem cell therapy for NHIE and CP. Heijnen C and Kavelaars A published the most articles. Cluster analyses show that current research trend is more inclined toward the repair mechanism and clinical translation of stem cell therapy for NHIE and CP. By summarizing various studies of stem cells in NHIE and CP, it is indicated that this research direction is a hot topic at present. Furthermore, organoid transplantation, as an emerging and new therapeutic approach, brings new hope for the treatment of NHIE and CP. This study comprehensively summarized and analyzed the research trend of global stem cell therapy for NHIE and CP. It has shown a marked increase in stem cell therapy for NHIE and CP research. In the future, more efforts will be made on exploring stem cell or organoid therapy for NHIE and CP and more valuable related mechanisms of action to achieve clinical translation as soon as possible.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Enteroviruses-infected hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) seriously threatens human health. This study aimed to analyze the research status, hotspots, and frontiers of HFMD. METHODS Publications on HFMD between January 1, 2006, and January 31, 2023, were retrieved from the Web of Science Core database. Bibliometric tools, including CiteSpace, VOSviewer, R package "Bibiometrix," SCImago Graphica, and Charticulator, were utilized to analyze and visualize the data. RESULTS A total of 1860 articles from 424 journals, involving 8815 authors from 64 countries and 1797 institutions were analyzed. The number of studies on HFMD has shown an increasing trend over the past 18 years, with an annual increase observed since 2006, which is particularly prominent after 2010. Research in this field has centered on the Asian region. Notably, the research hotspots were mainly focused on vaccines, epidemiology, and pathogenesis of HFMD. Among the researchers in this field, Zhang Yong emerged as the most prolific author, while Xu Wenbo had the most significant influence. The Chinese Academy of Sciences was the most productive institution, and China was the most productive country for HFMD research. CONCLUSION By bibliometric analysis, researchers in the HMFD field can efficiently identify and visually represent their research focus and limitations. In the future, it is crucial to maintain ongoing surveillance of HFMD outbreaks and their pathogenic changes. Additionally, future research should extensively explore the molecular mechanisms underlying Enteroviruses-induced HFMD with a focus on developing vaccines and therapies.

Abstract
Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) is a nematode and model organism whose entire genome has been mapped, which allows for easy observation of the organism's development due to its transparent structure, and which is appealing due to its ease of crossover, ease of culture, and low cost. Despite being separated by nearly a billion years of evolution, C. elegans homologs have been identified for the vast majority of human genes and are associated with C. elegans for many biological processes such as apoptosis, cell signaling, cell cycle, cell polarity, metabolism, and aging. A detailed bibliometric study is performed here to examine publication trends in this field. Data were taken from the Web of Science database and analyzed using the bibliometric application Biblioshiny (RStudio). In terms of publication, the results indicated a gradual increase each year between 1980 and 2023. A total of 20,322 records were issued in 96 countries, the majority of which were in the USA, China, and Japan. The most prolific writers, the journals most engaged in the area, the nations, institutions, and keywords used by authors were all determined using the Web of Science database and bibliometric rules. The number of papers in the C. elegans research field is increasing exponentially, and Genetics is the journal with the highest number of articles. This study presents how research patterns have evolved throughout time. As a result, worldwide cooperation and a potential field can be developed.

Abstract
PROBLEM A comprehensive analysis was conducted to explore the scientific output on immune-related recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) and its key aspects. Despite the lack of clear explanations for most RPL cases, immune factors were found to play a significant role. METHOD OF STUDY The study utilized a bibliometric approach, searching the Web of Science Core Collection database for relevant literature published between 2004 and 2023. RESULTS The collected dataset consisted of 2228 articles and reviews, revealing a consistent increase in publications and citations over the past two decades. The analysis identified the United States and China as the most productive countries in terms of RPL research. Among the institutions, Fudan University in China emerged as the top contributor, followed by Shanghai Jiaotong University. Kwak-kim J was the most prolific author, while Christiansen Ob had the highest number of co-citations. The top 25 co-cited references on diagnosis, treatment, and mechanisms formed the foundation of knowledge in this field. By examining keyword co-occurrence and co-citations, the study found that antiphospholipid syndrome and natural killer cells were the primary areas of focus in immune-related RPL research. Additionally, three emerging hotspots were identified: chronic endometritis, inflammation, and decidual macrophages. These aspects demonstrated increasing interest and research activity within the field of immune-related RPL. CONCLUSIONS Overall, this comprehensive bibliometric analysis provided valuable insights into the patterns, frontiers, and focal points of global scientific output related to immune-related RPL.

Abstract
Background Epilepsy is one of the most common serious chronic neurological disorders, which can have a serious negative impact on individuals, families and society, and even death. With the increasing application of machine learning techniques in medicine in recent years, the integration of machine learning with epilepsy has received close attention, and machine learning has the potential to provide reliable and optimal performance for clinical diagnosis, prediction, and precision medicine in epilepsy through the use of various types of mathematical algorithms, and promises to make better parallel advances. However, no bibliometric assessment has been conducted to evaluate the scientific progress in this area. Therefore, this study aims to visually analyze the trend of the current state of research related to the application of machine learning in epilepsy through bibliometrics and visualization. Methods Relevant articles and reviews were searched for 2004-2023 using Web of Science Core Collection database, and bibliometric analyses and visualizations were performed in VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Bibliometrix (R-Tool of R-Studio). Results A total of 1,284 papers related to machine learning in epilepsy were retrieved from the Wo SCC database. The number of papers shows an increasing trend year by year. These papers were mainly from 1,957 organizations in 87 countries/regions, with the majority from the United States and China. The journal with the highest number of published papers is EPILEPSIA. Acharya, U. Rajendra (Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore) is the authoritative author in the field and his paper "Deep Convolutional Neural Networks for Automated Detection and Diagnosis of Epileptic Seizures Using EEG Signals" was the most cited. Literature and keyword analysis shows that seizure prediction, epilepsy management and epilepsy neuroimaging are current research hotspots and developments. Conclusions This study is the first to use bibliometric methods to visualize and analyze research in areas related to the application of machine learning in epilepsy, revealing research trends and frontiers in the field. This information will provide a useful reference for epilepsy researchers focusing on machine learning.

Abstract
This study aimed to conduct a visual analysis of the relevant literature on mitochondrial dynamics in heart failure, explore the research progress, frontier topics, and development trends in this field, and provide references for the study concerning mitochondrial dynamics in the prevention and treatment of heart failure. The Web of Science was searched from inception to October 1, 2023 to identify relevant English literature on mitochondrial dynamics in heart failure. Bibliometric methods were utilized to statistically analyze the eligible literature, and CiteSpace 6.2.R5 software was employed to visualize data such as countries of publication, institutions, authors, and keywords. A total of 1755 Science Citation Index articles were included. The global publication volume showed an increasing trend year by year, with China and the United States having the most publications, and the United States displaying the highest centrality in publications. As revealed by keyword and citation analyses, the research hotspots and frontiers in this field mainly included the pathogenesis of heart failure, mitochondrial dynamics markers, mitochondrial quality control, and potential therapeutic targets for heart failure. Research on mitochondrial dynamics in heart failure is under vigorous development. It is a development trend in this research field to explore the differential gene expression and molecular mechanisms of targeted treatment in the mitochondrial dynamics in heart failure, which will contribute to the formulation of new strategies for the prevention and treatment of heart failure.

Abstract
G-protein signaling regulator 16 (RGS16) has been confirmed that RGS16 is associated with cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. Moreover, many studies have shown that RGS16 can be used as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis. We used CiteSpace and VOS viewer software to perform a bibliometric analysis of 290 publications in the core collection of Web of Science. All the articles come from 399 institutions, including 618 authors, 179 journals, 40 countries, 115 keywords, 1 language, two types of papers, and reviews. The United States has the largest number of publications. The Research Center of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) publishes the most papers, Emory University is the most recent of all institutions with the most recent results in the RGS16 study. Cell biology is the most studied discipline, and the most studied topic is migration. Drury published RGS16-related articles with the most citations (n = 15), and Berman published articles with the most citations (n = 106). The biological applications of RGS16 are currently a hot area of RGS16 research, including inflammation, cancer, ulcerative colitis, metabolic acidosis, platelet activation, and thrombosis. The current scientometrics study provides an overview of RGS16 research from 1995 to 2022. This study provides an overview of current and potential future research hotspots in the field of RGS16 and can be used as a resource for interested researchers.

Abstract
BACKGROUND A thorough bibliometric analysis of publications published in the field of chondrosarcoma research has not yet been performed using the Web of Science database, especially for publications published between 1993 and 2023. This study, with a focus on the fields of orthopedics, surgery, and oncology, aims to fill this knowledge gap by providing a thorough analysis of current knowledge in the field of chondrosarcoma. METHODS In this bibliometric study, a literature search was performed using the Web of Science database to find all publications on chondrosarcoma. A bibliometric software program was used for data visualization and analysis (opensource visualization application, Vosviewer). The Web of Science Core Collection data used for this retrospective bibliometric study, which covers the period from January 1993 to September 2023, revealed interesting trends in chondrosarcoma research. RESULTS As the most popular fields of study, orthopedics, surgery, and oncology account for a sizable portion of publications. A noteworthy increase in research output from 2014 to 2023, accounting for 41.74% of the papers, reflects the thriving research environment. The leading countries for publication were China, Japan, and the United States, demonstrating cross-border cooperation in chondrosarcoma research. Their contributions were highlighted by their important affiliations with institutions such as Harvard University, Leiden University, and China Medical University Taiwan. A thorough keyword mapping analysis also highlighted research priorities and encouraged interdisciplinary cooperation. The field's scholarly importance and ongoing relevance are highlighted by the study's high citation count (30,076) and highly cited articles. CONCLUSION Overall, this study offers crucial insights into the development and collaborative nature of the chondrosarcoma research landscape and its long-lasting influence on academic research and clinical practice.

Abstract
Objective Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) was a complex disease that had attracted increasing attention. However, there had been no bibliometric analysis of this disease so far. This study aimed to explore the current situation and frontier trend of PMP through bibliometric and visualization analysis, and to indicate new directions for future research. Methods The original research articles and reviews related to the PMP research were downloaded from Web of Science Core Collection on September 11, 2023. CiteSpace (6.2.R4) and VOSviewer(1.6.18) were used to perform bibliometric analysis of the publications, and establish the knowledge map. The data collected was analyzed using the Online Analysis Platform of Bibliometric to evaluate the cooperation of countries in this field. Results We identified 1449 original articles and reviews on PMP published between 1998 and 2023. The number of publications on PMP increased continuously. The United States, the United Kingdom and China were the top contributors. The most productive organization was the MedStar Washington Hospital Center. Sugarbaker, Paul H. was the most prolific author and the most cited. Keyword analysis showed that "Pseudomyxoma peritonei", "cancer", "cytoreductive surgery", and "hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy" were the most common keywords. The earliest and latest used keywords were "mucinous tumors" and "impact", respectively. "classification", "cytoreductive surgery", "appendiceal" were the top 3 strongest citation bursts. The reference "Carr NJ, 2016, AM J SURG PATHOL" had the highest co-citations. Conclusion This bibliometric analysis showed an increasing trend in literature related to PMP. The research trends and hotspots identified in this study could guide the future research directions in this field, in order to promote the development of PMP.

Abstract
Non-motor symptoms are prevalent among individuals with Parkinson's disease (PD) and seriously affect patient quality of life, even more so than motor symptoms. In the past decade, an increasing number of studies have investigated non-motor symptoms in PD. The present study aimed to comprehensively analyze the global literature, trends, and hotspots of research investigating non-motor symptoms in PD through bibliometric methods. Studies addressing non-motor symptoms in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC), published between January 2013 and December 2022, were retrieved. Bibliometric methods, including the R package "Bibliometrix," VOS viewer, and CiteSpace software, were used to investigate and visualize parameters, including yearly publications, country/region, institution, and authors, to collate and quantify information. Analysis of keywords and co-cited references explored trends and hotspots. There was a significant increase in the number of publications addressing the non-motor symptoms of PD, with a total of 3,521 articles retrieved. The United States was ranked first in terms of publications (n = 763) and citations (n = 11,269), maintaining its leadership position among all countries. King's College London (United Kingdom) was the most active institution among all publications (n = 133) and K Ray Chaudhuri was the author with the most publications (n = 131). Parkinsonism & Related Disorders published the most articles, while Movement Disorders was the most cited journal. Reference explosions have shown that early diagnosis, biomarkers, novel magnetic resonance imaging techniques, and deep brain stimulation have become research "hotspots" in recent years. Keyword clustering revealed that alpha-synuclein is the largest cluster for PD. The keyword heatmap revealed that non-motor symptoms appeared most frequently (n = 1,104), followed by quality of life (n = 502), dementia (n = 403), and depression (n = 397). Results of the present study provide an objective, comprehensive, and systematic analysis of these publications, and identifies trends and "hot" developments in this field of research. This work will inform investigators worldwide to help them conduct further research and develop new therapies.

Abstract
BACKGROUND UMOD is exclusively produced by renal epithelial cells. Recent genome-wide association studies (GWAS) suggested that common variants in UMOD gene are closely connected with the risk of CKD. However, a comprehensive and objective report on the current status of UMOD research is lacking. Therefore, we aim to conduct a bibliometric analysis to quantify and identify the status quo and trending issues of UMOD research in the past. METHODS We collected data from the Web of Science Core Collection database and used the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology, the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology and Microsoft Excel 2019 to perform bibliometricanalysis and visualization. RESULTS Based on the data from the WoSCC database from 1985 to 2022, a total of 353 UMOD articles were published in 193 academic journals by 2346 authors from 50 different countries/regions and 396 institutions. The United States published the most papers. Professor Devuyst O from University of Zurich not only published the greatest number of UMOD-related papers but also is among the top 10 co-cited authors. KIDNEY INTERNATIONAL published the most necroptosis studies, and it was also the most cited journal. High-frequency keywords mainly included 'chronic kidney disease', 'Tamm Horsfall protein' and 'mutation'. CONCLUSIONS The number of UMOD-related articles has steadily increased over the past decades Current UMOD studies focused on Biological relevance of the UMOD to kidney function and potential applications in the risk of CKD mechanisms, these might provide ideas for further research in the UMOD field.

Abstract
Poliomyelitis is an acute infectious disease caused by poliovirus. This bibliometric analysis aims to examine the status of poliomyelitis research in the past 20 years. Information regarding polio research was obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection database. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Excel were used to perform visual and bibliometric analysis with respect to countries/regions, institutions, authors, journals and keywords. A total of 5,335 publications on poliomyelitis were published from 2002 to 2021. The USA was the county with the majority of publications. Additionally, the most productive institution was the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Sutter, RW produced the most papers and had the most co-citations. Vaccine was the journal with the most polio-related publications and citations. The most common keywords were mainly about polio immunology research ("polio," "immunization," "children," "eradication" and "vaccine"). Our study is helpful for identifying research hotspots and providing direction for future research on poliomyelitis.

Abstract
To carry out an in-depth analysis of the scientific research on infertility, we performed the first bibliometric analysis focusing on studies involving global literature on infertility during the period 2013-2022. Analysis of 33239 articles in the field of infertility showed a significant increasing trend in the number of publications over the period 2013-2022, with authors mainly from the USA and China. Shanghai Jiao Tong University published the most articles. This study is the first to analyze the global field of infertility (2013-2022) from multiple indicators by bibliometrics, thus providing new insights into the research hotspots and development trends in the field of infertility.

Abstract
Background Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) interventions may prove to be an attractive option for the treatment of depression. The aim of this scientometric analysis is to determine the global scientific output of research regarding managing depression with CAM and identify the hotspots and frontiers within this theme. Methods Publications regarding the utilization of CAM for treating depression were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection from 1993 to 2022, and analyzed and visualized by Bibliometrix R-package, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace. Results A total of 1,710 publications were acquired. The number of annual publications showed an overall rapid upward trend, with the figure peaking at 179 in 2021. The USA was the leading research center. Totally 2,323 distinct institutions involving 7,638 scholars contributed to the research theme. However, most of the cooperation was limited to within the same country, institution or research team. The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine was the most productive periodical. The CAM therapies of most interest to researchers were acupuncture and body-mind techniques, such as yoga, meditation and mindfulness. Systematic review and meta-analysis are commonly used methods. "Inflammation," "rating scale" and "psychological stress" were identified as the most studied trend topics recently. Conclusion Managing depression with evidence-based CAM treatment is gaining attention globally. Body-mind techniques and acupuncture are growing research hotspots or emerging trending topics. Future studies are predicted to potentially investigate the possible mechanisms of action underlying CAM treatments in reducing depression in terms of modulation of psychological stress and inflammation levels. Cross-countries/institutes/team research collaborations should be encouraged and further enhanced.

Abstract
Background Gut microbiome is a complex community of microbes present in the human gut and plays an important role in the occurrence and progression of colorectal cancer (CRC). However, the relationship between virus and CRC has not been fully understood. Objective To explore the hot spots and research trends in the field of CRC and virus. Methods By using the bibliometric analysis tool CiteSpace and based on the articles of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database, the country, institution, highly cited literature, keywords and so on were visually analyzed. Results A total of 356 research articles on CRC from 2001 to 2023 were thoroughly analyzed. The USA and China have made the largest contribution in the field of virus and CRC. The Helmholtz Association published the most papers. There were relatively few cooperations among institutions from different countries. The results of keyword cluster analysis proved that the literature on the relationship between human cytomegalovirus (CMV) and CRC was the most widely studied aspect in this field. "Gut microbiota," "inflammatory bowel disease," "hepatitis b virus," and "human papillomavirus infection" are the current research hotspots; "oncolytic virus," "apoptosis," and "gut microbiome" are the recent research frontiers and should be paid closer attention. Conclusion By using CiteSpace bibliometric software, the visual analysis reflected the research trends and hot topics of virus and CRC. In addition, the prevalence and mechanism of specific virus on CRC were also reviewed, which provides valuable references for future CRC research.

Abstract
Aims: To summarize and clarify the current research status and indicate possible future directions in the field of autophagy in ischemic stroke, we performed a comprehensive and multidimensional bibliometric analysis of the literature in this field published from 2011 to 2022. Methods: We retrieved articles on the field of autophagy in ischemic stroke published between 2011 and 2022 from Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC). VOSviewer (version 1.6.19) and CiteSpace (version 6.2.R2 Basic) were used to identify the leading topics as well as generate visual maps of Countries/regions, organizations, authors, journals, and keyword networks in the related field. Results: A total of 568 publications were contained in this research. The journal with the most publications were Front Pharmacol, Mol Neurobiol, and Neuroscience. China was the most productive country with respect to co-authorship, with the Capital Med Univ being the organization with the most. co-authorships. In terms of authorship analysis, eight of the top 10 most contributive authors were from China. The co-occurring author keywords can be divided into three main clusters, including "protective effect of autophagy in ischemic stroke," "autophagy-targeted therapy for ischemic stroke," and "mitochondrial function in cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury". Conclusion: This bibliometric analysis helps us reveal the current research hotspots in the research field of autophagy in ischemic stroke and guide future research directions. Subsequent trends in this special field are likely to identify and develop novel autophagy-targeted therapy strategies to effectively prevent and treat ischemic stroke.

Abstract
Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a very common chronic disease and causes reproductive disorders in women of childbearing age worldwide. The cause of metabolic dysfunction in PCOS is unknown, and there is a lack of systematic bibliometric analysis for this disease. This study included 3,972 articles on metabolic dysfunction in PCOS published from 2012 to 2021. We applied the VOSviewer and the CiteSpace scientometric analysis software to analyze the data regarding the publication of the articles, countries, authors, institutions, scientific categories, cited journals, and keywords. Through this analysis, we determined the research efforts and their developing trends and anticipated the progress in understanding PCOS-related metabolic dysfunction.

Abstract
Background Glioma is the most common primary brain tumor. Traditional treatments for glioma include surgical resection, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and bevacizumab therapy, but their efficacies are limited. Immunotherapy provides a new direction for glioma treatment. This study aimed to summarize the knowledge structure and research hotspots of glioma immunotherapy through a bibliometric analysis. Method Publications pertaining to glioma immunotherapy published during the period from 1st January 1990 to 27th March 2023 were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Bibliometric analysis and visualization were performed using the CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology, and R software. The hotspots and prospects of glioma immunotherapy research were illustrated via analyzing the countries, institutions, journals, authors, citations and keywords of eligible publications. Results A total of 1,929 publications pertaining to glioma immunotherapy in 502 journals were identified as of 27th March 2023, involving 9,505 authors from 1,988 institutions in 62 countries. Among them were 1,285 articles and 644 reviews. Most of publications were produced by the United States. JOURNAL OF NEURO-ONCOLOGY published the majority of publications pertaining to glioma immunotherapy. Among the authors, Lim M contributed the largest number of publications. Through analyzing keyword bursts and co-cited references, immune-checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) were identified as the research focus and hotspot. Conclusion Using a bibliometric analysis, this study provided the knowledge structure and research hotspots in glioma immunotherapy research during the past 33 years, with ICIs staying in the current and future hotspot. Our findings may direct the research of glioma immunotherapy in the future.

Abstract
Background Grief is a natural and individualized response to different losses, but if grief persists or becomes pathological, professional interventions are required. Grief and corresponding interventions have received increasing attention, as the related concepts have been incorporated into the DSM-5 and ICD-11. Therefore, we conducted a bibliometric analysis to explore the developments in the field of grief intervention research. Methods Articles on grief interventions were systematically searched and screened from the Web of Science Core Collection. The retrieved data were analyzed and visualized using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix software for journals, authors, institutions, countries, references, and keywords. Results A total of 9,754 articles were included. The number of articles on grief interventions has increased significantly each year since 1990. Death Studies was the journal that published the most articles in this field. We identified 25,140 authors contributed to this research area and these authors were from 123 countries and 6,630 institutions. Boelen PA secured the first position in article production, Columbia University emerged as the most productive affiliation and the United States was the foremost leading in grief intervention research. The prevalent keywords utilized in this field comprised bereavement, grief, death, depression, and palliative care. Conclusion The quantity of publications regarding grief interventions is increasing. Although most prior studies have focused on mortality, grief, and health, emerging themes such as COVID-19, grief among workers, and disfranchised grief have drawn increasing attention in recent years. Future studies may focus on investigating the complexities and challenges of grief, including its underlying mechanisms and impact on mental well-being.

Abstract
Background Liver cancer (LC) is one of the most common malignancies. Currently, nanotechnology has made great progress in LC research, and many studies on LC nanotechnology have been published. This study aims to discuss the current status, hot spots, and research trends in this field through bibliometric analysis. Methods The Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database was searched for papers related to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) included from January 2000 to November 2022, and its research hotspots and trends were visualized and analyzed with the help of VOSviewer. In addition, a search was conducted to find LC papers related to nanotechnology. Then we used the visual analysis software VOSviewer and CiteSpace to evaluate the contributions of countries/regions, authors, and journals related to the topic and analyze keywords to understand the research priorities and hot spots in the field as well as the development direction. Results There are 1908 papers in the highly cited literature on LC, and its research hotspots are pathogenesis, risk factors, and survival rate. The literature on the application of nanotechnology in LC had 921 papers. Among them, China (n=560, 60.8%) and the United States (n=170, 18.5%) were the countries with the highest number of published papers. Wang Yan (n=11) and Llovet JM (n=131) were the first authors and co-cited authors, respectively. The International Journal of Nanomedicine was the most prolific academic journal (n=41). In addition to "hepatocellular carcinoma" and "nanoparticles", the most frequent keyword was "drug delivery". In recent years, "metastasis" and "diagnosis" appeared in the keyword bursts. This indicates that the application of nanoparticles in the early diagnosis and drug delivery of LC (including liver metastasis) has a good prospect. Conclusion Nanotechnology has received more and more attention in the medical field in recent years. As nanoparticles are easily localized in organelles and cells, they can increase drug permeability in tumor tissues, improve drug delivery efficiency and reduce drug toxicity. Our research results were the first scientific evaluation of the application of nanotechnology in LC, providing scholars with research hotspots and development trends.

Abstract
Objectives To conduct a bibliometric analysis to quantify and identify the current status and trends of acromegaly research in the past two decades. Materials and methods Articles related to acromegaly that were published from 1999 to 2022 were retrieved through the Web of Science core collection (WoSCC) database. Then, they were imported into VOSviewer and CiteSpace to conduct a visualization analysis of authors, countries, institutions, citation numbers, cocitations, keywords, and references. Results A total of 3,909 articles were identified in the study. Among them, the United States made the largest contribution to the field. Moreover, Colao A. was the most prolific author, and the University of Naples Federico II was the institution with the most publications. In addition, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism was the core journal in the field. High-frequency keywords mainly included "acromegaly," "GH (Growth Hormone)," "IGH-I (Insulin-Like Growth Factor I)," "pituitary adenomas," and "octreotide." Conclusion Studies related to acromegaly have shown stable stepwise growth over the past two decades. Interestingly, the research focus after 2016 gradually shifted from the etiology, mechanism, medications for treatment, and complications to improving prognosis and quality of life of patients with acromegaly. The current findings may provide guidance for further research in the field of acromegaly.

Abstract
PURPOSE To take a systematic bibliometric analysis and generate the knowledge mapping of diabetic foot research, basing on big data from Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. METHODS Two authors retrieved the WoSCC independently, to obtain publications in field of diabetic foot. CiteSpace was used to detect the co-occurrence relationships of authors, keywords, institutions, and countries/regions, co-citation relationships of authors, references, and journals, and distribution of WoS category. RESULTS A total of 10,822 documents were included, with 39,541 authors contributed to this field. "Armstrong DG," "Lavery LA," and "Lipsky BA" are the top 3 productive authors, and "Armstrong DG," "Boulton AJM," and "Lavery LA" were most commonly cited. The United States, England and China are the most productive countries, and Univ Washington, Univ Manchester and Harvard Univ published the largest quantity of articles. "Diabetes Care," "Diabetic Med," and "Diabetologia" are the most frequently cited journals, providing the greatest knowledge base. Clustering analysis of keywords co-occurrence map presented the following hotspots: #1 diabetic wound healing, #2 diabetic polyneuropathy, #3 plantar pressure, #4 diabetic foot infection, #5 endovascular treatment, and #6 hyperbaric oxygen therapy. CONCLUSION This study performed a global overview of diabetic foot research using bibliometric and visualization methods, which would provide helpful references for researchers focusing on this area to capture the future trend.

Abstract
Background Melanoma is a skin tumor with a high mortality rate, and early diagnosis and effective treatment are the key to reduce its mortality rate. Therefore, more and more attention has been paid for biomarker identification for early diagnosis, prognosis prediction and prognosis evaluation of melanoma. However, there is still a lack of a report that comprehensively and objectively evaluates the research status of melanoma biomarkers. Therefore, this study aims to intuitively analyze the research status and trend of melanoma biomarkers through the methods of bibliometrics and knowledge graph. Objective This study uses bibliometrics to analyze research in biomarkers in melanoma, summarize the field's history and current status of research, and predict future research directions. Method Articles and Reviews related to melanoma biomarkers were retrieved by using Web of Science core collection subject search. Bibliometric analysis was performed in Excel 365, CiteSpace, VOSviewer and Bibliometrix (R-Tool of R-Studio). Result A total of 5584 documents from 2004 to 2022 were included in the bibliometric analysis. The results show that the number of publications and the frequency of citations in this field are increasing year by year, and the frequency of citations has increased rapidly after 2018. The United States is the most productive and influential country in this field, with the largest number of publications and institutions with high citation frequency. Caroline Robert, F. Stephen Hodi, Suzanne L. Topalian and others are authoritative authors in this field, and The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of Clinical Oncology and Clinical Cancer Research are the most authoritative journals in this field. Biomarkers related to the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of melanoma are hot topics and cutting-edge hotspots in this field. Conclusion For the first time, this study used the bibliometric method to visualize the research in the field of melanoma biomarkers, revealing the trends and frontiers of melanoma biomarkers research, which provides a useful reference for scholars to find key research issues and partners.

Abstract
Background In recent years, the link between inflammation and bladder cancer(BC) has received much attention. However, there were no relevant bibliometric studies to analyze the inflammation-related research within this field of BC. Methods We selected Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) as the data source to obtain articles and reviews on inflammation-related research within te field of BC from WOSCC's inception to October 10, 2022. The collected data were meticulously and manually screened, after which we used VOSviewer, CiteSpace, Biblioshiny and an online analysis platform (https://bibliometric.com/) to perform bibliometric analysis on the data and visualize the results. Results A total of 4301 papers related to inflammation-related research within this field of BC were included in this study.The number of publications has steadily increased over the last decades (R²=0.9021). The top contributing country was the United States, O'Donnell, Michael A was the most published authors, the leading contributing institution was the University of Texas, and the leading contributing journal was JOURNAL OF UROLOGY. The keywords co-occurrence analysis indicated that "immunotherapy," "inflammation-related biomarkers," and "tumor microenvironment" were the hot spots and frontiers of research in this field. Conclusion This study clarifies the contribution of countries, institutions, authors, and journals in inflammation-related research within this field of BC through a bibliometric approach and identifies research hotspots and frontiers in the field. Notably, these findings can help researchers to understand more clearly the relationship between inflammation and BC.

Abstract
Background The size and function of the future liver remnant (FLR) is an essential consideration for both eligibility for treatment and postoperative prognosis when planning surgical hepatectomy. Over time, a variety of preoperative FLR augmentation techniques have been investigated, from the earliest portal vein embolization (PVE) to the more recent Associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) and liver venous deprivation (LVD) procedures. Despite numerous publications on this topic, no bibliometric analysis has yet been conducted. Methods Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database was searched to identify studies related to preoperative FLR augmentation techniques published from 1997 to 2022. The analysis was performed using the CiteSpace [version 6.1.R6 (64-bit)] and VOSviewer [version 1.6.19]. Results A total of 973 academic studies were published by 4431 authors from 920 institutions in 51 countries/regions. The University of Zurich was the most published institution while Japan was the most productive country. Eduardo de Santibanes had the most published articles, and Masato Nagino was the most frequently co-cited author. The most frequently published journal was HPB, and the most cited journal was Ann Surg, with 8088 citations. The main aspects of preoperative FLR augmentation technique is to enhance surgical technology, expand clinical indications, prevent and treat postoperative complications, ensure long-term survival, and evaluate the growth rate of FLR. Recently, hot keywords in this field include ALPPS, LVD, and Hepatobiliary Scintigraphy. Conclusion This bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive overview of preoperative FLR augmentation techniques, offering valuable insights and ideas for scholars in this field.

Abstract
Background Since being recognized as an important drug-induced clinical entity during the 1960s, tardive dyskinesia (TD) has generated an extensive body of research seeking to understand its clinical characteristics, epidemiology, pathophysiology and management. Modern scientometric approaches allow interactive visualization of large bodies of literature to identify trends and hotspots within knowledge domains. This study thus aimed to provide a comprehensive scientometric review of the TD literature. Methods Web of Science was searched for articles, reviews, editorials and letters with the term "tardive dyskinesia" in the title, abstract, or keywords through 12/31/2021. A total of 5,228 publications and 182,052 citations were included. Annual research output, prominent research areas, authors, affiliations and countries were summarized. VOSViewer and CiteSpace were used for bibliometric mapping and co-citation analysis. Structural and temporal metrics were used to identify key publications in the network. Results TD-related publications peaked in the 1990s, gradually declined after 2004, and showed a further small increase after 2015. The most prolific authors were Kane JM, Lieberman JA, and Jeste DV overall (1968-2021), and Zhang XY, Correll CU and Remington G in the last decade (2012-2021). The most prolific journal was the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry overall, and the Journal of Psychopharmacology in the last decade. Knowledge clusters in the 1960-1970s dealt with clinical and pharmacological characterization of TD. In the 1980s, epidemiology, clinical TD assessment, cognitive dysfunction and animal models predominated. During the 1990s, research diverged into pathophysiological studies, especially oxidative stress, and clinical trials on atypical antipsychotics, with a focus on clozapine and bipolar disorder. In the 1990-2000s, pharmacogenetics emerged. More recent clusters include serotonergic receptors, dopamine-supersensitivity psychosis, primary motor abnormalities of schizophrenia, epidemiology/meta-analyses, and advances in TD treatment, particularly vesicular monoamine transporter-2 inhibitors since 2017. Conclusion This scientometric review visualized the evolution of scientific knowledge on TD over more than five decades. These findings will be useful for researchers to find relevant literature when writing scientific articles, choosing appropriate journals, finding collaborators or mentors for research, and to understand the historical developments and emerging trends in TD research.

Abstract
Three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting is an advanced tissue engineering technique that has received a lot of interest in the past years. We aimed to highlight the characteristics of articles on 3D bioprinting, especially in terms of research hotspots and focus. Publications related to 3D bioprinting from 2007 to 2022 were acquired from the Web of Science Core Collection database. We have used VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and R-bibliometrix to perform various analyses on 3,327 published articles. The number of annual publications is increasing globally, a trend expected to continue. The United States and China were the most productive countries with the closest cooperation and the most research and development investment funds in this field. Harvard Medical School and Tsinghua University are the top-ranked institutions in the United States and China, respectively. Dr. Anthony Atala and Dr. Ali Khademhosseini, the most productive researchers in 3D bioprinting, may provide cooperation opportunities for interested researchers. Tissue Engineering Part A contributed the largest publication number, while Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology was the most attractive journal with the most potential. As for the keywords in 3D bioprinting, Bio-ink, Hydrogels (especially GelMA and Gelatin), Scaffold (especially decellularized extracellular matrix), extrusion-based bioprinting, tissue engineering, and in vitro models (organoids particularly) are research hotspots analyzed in the current study. Specifically, the research topics "new bio-ink investigation," "modification of extrusion-based bioprinting for cell viability and vascularization," "application of 3D bioprinting in organoids and in vitro model" and "research in personalized and regenerative medicine" were predicted to be hotspots for future research.

Abstract
ObjectiveTo identify author collaborations and impact; participating countries, institutions, and journals; evaluate the knowledge base; and analyze research hotspots and frontiers in teaching reforms in physiology.MethodsArticles and reviews related to teaching reforms in physiology published between January 1, 2012, and December 31, 2021, were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection. Two Scientometric software applications (CiteSpace 5.7 and VOSviewer 1.6.15) were used to perform bibliometric and knowledge-map analysis, generate network maps, and identify research trends and top keywords, authors, co-cited authors, institutions, countries, journals, and references.ResultsThe search identified a total of 2,882 papers in 466 academic journals by 13,895 authors from 4,072 organizations in 67 countries/regions. Physiology teaching reform-related publications increased rapidly over time. Arango-Lasprilla and Rivera published the most papers, while Moseley had the most co-citations. Active collaborations among physiology researchers were noted. Advances in Physiology Education published the most papers on physiology teaching reforms and was also the top co-cited journal in the Medicine/Medical/Clinical, Psychology/Education/Health, and Neurology/Sports/Ophthalmology fields. The United States and University of California published the most physiology teaching publications in the search criteria. Ten references (research articles and reviews) on mechanisms and diseases were identified as the knowledge base. The mainstream research directions were education, Alzheimer’s disease, performance, physiology, and risk factors. Mental health and emotion regulation are increasing in significance and may become new hotspots. The research trend to move from the field of pain pathogenesis to the field of neuropsychiatry has become increasingly clear. This tendency away from peripheral system-based disorders to central system-based orders is inextricably linked to further developments in physiological understanding of the brain.ConclusionThis study analyzed the research hot spots and frontiers of teaching reforms on in physiology using bibliometric and visual methods. Based on the results, rehabilitation, neurosciences, and infectious disease are hot topics in physiology. In particular, the pathogenesis of neurological diseases, treatment strategies, and technology updates have gradually become research hotspots. We predict that this trend is closely related to the implementation of brain research programs in various countries. These findings provide helpful references for scholars focusing on physiology education.

Abstract
BackgroundAn increasing number of studies have focused on the role of gut microbiota in the treatment of ADHD, but its related molecular mechanisms are not yet clear, and there is still room for development of studies targeting this area. This study analyzes publications from 2012 to 2021 in a comprehensive and multi-faceted visualization, with the aim of grasping the existing research profile and guiding scholars to make more in-depth studies.MethodsThe 1,677 articles and 298 review articles on gut microbiota in ADHD were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Microsoft Excel 2019, Scimago Graphica, Bibliometrix and Pajek metrics software were used for visualization and analysis of the included literature.ResultsOn August 3, 2022, a total of 1975 English-language articles on gut microbiota in ADHD were retrieved from Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) from January 2012 to December 2021, with a steady upward trend in the number of articles published in this field over the decade. The top three countries in terms of the number of articles published are the United States, China, and Spain. Meanwhile, CONSEJO SUPERIOR DE INVESTIGACIONES CIENTIFICAS CSIC, UNIV OF CALIFORNIA SYSTEM, and UDICE FRENCH RESEARCH UNIV have made significant contributions in this field. In the analysis of the published journals, PLoS One was not only the first in terms of number of articles published but also the most cited. Wang J was the most prolific author and CAPORASO JG ranked first in terms of co-cited authors. In addition, “Diet rapidly and reproducibly alters the human gut microbiome,” published by David LA et al., has the highest citation frequency in this field. The most frequently occurring keyword was “gut microbiota.”ConclusionThe results of this paper clarify the current status of research on gut microbiota in ADHD. Based on the research on the mechanism of gut microbiota in other diseases, there is reason to believe that the exploration of gut microbiota in ADHD must be increasingly mature. And the study speculates that future research may focus on “nutrition supplements,” “lipid metabolism,” and “gut brain axis.” It is imperative to promote a closer international cooperation among scholars in this field.

Abstract
Background Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) is a common malignant tumor with a significant mortality rate, especially in patients at locally advanced stage, or with recurrence and metastasis. Immunotherapy has shown remarkable breakthrough in the treatment of locally advanced cancer, recurrence and metastasis in recent years. During this time, a large number of HNSCC immunotherapy studies have been published. However, few studies employed bibliometric analysis. This work analyzes HNSCC immunotherapy trends and hotspots using bibliometric analysis to get better understanding of the current state and future direction of HNSCC immunotherapy. Methods Relevant articles and publications about immunotherapy of HNSCC were extracted from Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Bibliometrics was used to study these publications in terms of countries/regions, institutions, authors (cited authors), journals (cited journals), references, and keywords, so as to identify research hotspots and to predict future research trends in this field. Results A total of 1377 English articles published between 2000 and 2022 were collected. It is found that the number of articles increases rapidly from 2016. The United States has the largest number of publications (n=538), followed by China (n=407) and Germany (n=175). The institute with the highest published papers is the University of Pittsburgh (n=67). In terms of author, Robert L Ferris ranks first among the top ten cited authors. Oral Oncology (impact factor (IF) (2021) = 5.972) is the most prolific academic journal in immunotherapy of HNSCC. According to the reference cluster analysis, the research hot topic has shifted from basic research on immunotherapy of head and neck cancer to the study of prognosis. Keywords analysis also reveals that the study of patients' prognoses is at the core of immunotherapy for HNSCC. Conclusion Currently, head and neck cancer research focus primarily on prognostic significance, cancer treatment, and poor prognosis. However, the researches on immunotherapy for head and neck malignancies is the growing trend in near future. Notably, United States has made significant contributions to this field.
