Abstract
OBJECTIVE Polycystic ovary (PCO), a diagnostic component of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), requires either an ovarian volume (OV) criterion or a follicle number per ovary (FNPO) criterion. This study investigated the association of OV and FNPO criteria with various manifestations of PCOS. METHODS This cross-sectional study was conducted at a university hospital among 100 patients newly diagnosed with PCOS (according to the revised Rotterdam criteria). Fasting blood samples were collected to measure glucose, total testosterone (TT), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), lipid, insulin, and hemoglobin A1c levels. An oral glucose tolerance test was performed. Transabdominal or transvaginal ultrasound of the ovaries was done, depending on patients' marital status. All investigations were conducted in the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle. OV >10 mL and/or FNPO ≥12 indicated PCO. A homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (IR) value ≥2.6 indicated IR, and metabolic syndrome (MS) was defined according to the international harmonization criteria. RESULTS Seventy-six participants fulfilled the OV criterion, 70 fulfilled the FNPO criterion, and 89 overall had PCO. Both maximum OV and mean OV had a significant correlation with TT levels (r=0.239, p=0.017 and r=0.280, p=0.005, respectively) and the LH/FSH ratio (r=0.212, p=0.034 and r=0.200, p=0.047, respectively). Mean OV also had a significant correlation with fasting insulin levels (r=0.210, p=0.036). Multivariate binary logistic regression analysis showed that IR (odds ratio [OR], 9.429; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.701 to 52.271; p=0.010) and MS (OR, 7.952; 95% CI, 1.821 to 34.731; p=0.006) had significant predictive associations with OV alone, even after adjustment for age and body mass index. CONCLUSION OV may be more closely related to the androgenic and metabolic characteristics of PCOS than FNPO.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is diagnosed based on chronic anovulation, androgen excess (clinical and/or biochemical), and polycystic ovaries in ultrasound. The aim of the present study was to evaluate which parameters in the transvaginal ultrasound (TVUS) of ovaries could be better associated with concurrent hormonal imbalance in the women with PCOS. METHODS Using a cross-sectional design, this study focused on 61 subjects (18-40 years) with PCOS. Patients were recruited at three academic hospitals during the 2017-2019 period. PCOS was defined according to the Rotterdam criteria. The association of ovarian morphology with hormonal and metabolic feature was investigated using linear regression models, adjusted for a set of possible confounding variables including age, mensuration status and body mass index (BMI). RESULTS The mean volume of both ovaries was positively associated with the total testosterone level (β = 0.025, P value < 0.001), free androgen index (β = 0.041, P value < 0.001) and luteinizing hormone/follicle stimulating hormone (LH/FSH) ratio (β = 0.032, P value = 0.004), even after adjustments made for age, mensuration status and BMI (fully-adjusted model). In contrast, in the fully-adjusted model, antral follicle count (AFC), follicle number per ovary (FNPO), ovarian area, stromal area, and ratio of stromal area to ovarian area (S/A) were not associated with androgen levels and LH/FSH ratio. In addition, after full adjustments, ovarian volume, AFC, FNPO, ovarian area, stromal area and S/A were not associated with insulin resistance, which was estimated by the homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). CONCLUSION Increased ovarian volume is, thus, highly predictive of hyperandrogenemia and high LH/FSH ratio in PCOS patients.

Abstract
Objective: In the context of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, telemedicine is a promising tool for providing clinical care for patients. Since the first-line treatment for infertile women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is lifestyle modification, a mobile-based service that provides lifestyle modification education would be helpful in the treatment of PCOS patients. In this observational study, the effect of a mobile Health (mHealth) application for lifestyle modification on PCOS patients undergoing assisted reproductive technology (ART) treatment was evaluated.Methods: A total of 79 overweight/obese patients (40 in the paper group and 39 in the WeChat application group) with PCOS from the First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology of China were enrolled in the study. The changes in the outcomes of BMI and ART treatment were analyzed between the two groups.Results: After three months of intervention, the BMIs in the control and mHealth groups were 24.5 ± 3.3 and 23.7 ± 3.1, respectively. The percentage of patients who lost weight was higher in the WeChat group than in the control group (87.2% vs. 67.5%). Furthermore, PCOS patients in the WeChat group were found to have a higher live birth rate than those in the control group (p = 0.005).Conclusion: Lifestyle modifications for PCOS patients undergoing ART treatment using the WeChat application improved weight loss and oocyte quality. Infertile patients with PCOS were more likely to make lifestyle modifications based on the usage of mobile applications during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abstract
Background To investigate the age-dependent changes in circulating anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels in healthy Arabic-speaking Lebanese women, and to correlate changes in serum AMH levels with serum FSH and LH values, and LH/FSH ratio. Methods Cross-sectional study, involving 1190 healthy females, age 17–54 years, with regular menses and both ovaries. Serum AMH levels (ng/ml) were measured by ELISA. Results There was an inverse proportion of AMH and subject’s age, which declined from median 6.71 (2.91) ng/ml in young subjects, to 0.68 (0.45) ng/ml in subjects older than 50 years. Average yearly decrease in median AMH levels was 0.27 ng/ml/year through age 35, but then diminished to 0.12 ng/ml/year afterwards. Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis demonstrated high sensitivity and specificity of age as determinant of AMH levels. In contrast to AMH, FSH levels increased progressively from 5.89 (0.11–62.10) ng/ml in young subjects, to 38.43 (3.99–88.30) ng/ml in subjects older than 50 years. On the other hand, age-dependent changes in LH/FSH ratio paralleled those of AMH. Linear regression modeling testing the independent effect of AMH on FSH and LH, adjusted for age, showed that AMH was significant predictor of FSH and LH/FSH ratio, but not LH. This did not contribute significantly to baseline LH and FSH prediction. Conclusions Circulating AMH levels are inversely related to age as also shown elsewhere, and are predictors of LH/FSH ratio and FSH but not LH levels in eumenorrheic females.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex multifactorial disorder, affecting millions of women worldwide. The role of genetic polymorphisms of the KISS1 gene on the development of PCOS is still obscure. This study was designed to investigate the probable influence of KISS1 gene polymorphisms on PCOS and its associated variables: BMI, waist-hip ratio, kisspeptin, LH, FSH, and LH-FSH ratio. METHODS The study comprised 104 PCOS women and 109 controls, with age ranging from 19 to 36 years. BMI, waist-hip ratio, and circulating levels of kisspeptin, LH, and FSH were measured. DNA was extracted, and genotyping of the KISS1 gene was carried out by nucleotide sequencing. The PCOS-associated variables were analyzed in different genotypes of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of the KISS1 gene. RESULTS The values of waist-hip ratio (WHR), LH, and LH-FSH ratio were significantly higher in PCOS women than controls. BMI, kisspeptin, and FSH levels exhibited no significant difference between the groups. Six novel SNPs of KISS1 gene were identified. Three: rs372790354G > A, rs12998G > A, and rs35431622A > T were investigated. Among these SNPs, the genotype and allele frequencies of rs372790354 showed significant association with PCOS (GA: p = 0.018, AA: p = 0.022, mutant allele-A: p = 0.021) and the G allele was protective. The values of LH, kisspeptin, and WHR of PCOS women were significantly influenced (p < 0.05) by the AA genotype of rs372790354. The other two SNPs rs12998G > A and rs35431622A > T revealed no significant influence on PCOS and associated variables. Haplotypes were constructed, but there was no significant difference between the patients and controls. CONCLUSION In conclusion, this is the first study, which reports a significant influence of KISS1 gene polymorphism (rs372790354G > A) on PCOS and its associated variables. However, more extensive research is necessary to confirm these findings.

Abstract
Objective This study was performed to evaluate the endocrine and glycolipid metabolism characteristics of diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) in Chinese patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Methods In total, 1179 patients with PCOS and 70 healthy women who presented to the Department of Gynecological Endocrinology in Ren Ji Hospital from June 2015 and June 2019 were enrolled in this study. Parameters of endocrine and glycolipid metabolism were measured. The differences in indices among the control group, simple PCOS group, and PCOS with DOR group were analyzed. Results The prevalence of DOR in Chinese women with PCOS was 20.8%. The body mass index and waist/hip ratio were significantly higher in the simple PCOS group than in the PCOS with DOR group. There were significant differences in the concentrations of luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, estradiol, testosterone, and androstenedione among the three groups. The fasting serum insulin concentration and homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance were significantly higher in the simple PCOS group than in the PCOS with DOR group. Conclusions The endocrine and glycolipid metabolism characteristics were different between the simple PCOS group and PCOS with DOR group.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate potential associations between concentrations of antimüllerian hormone (AMH) and T as well as the LH/FSH ratio and the unbiased precise ovarian volume obtained after unilateral ovariectomy. DESIGN Cohort study. SETTING University hospital. PATIENT(S) A total of 765 patients having one ovary surgically removed for fertility preservation. Inclusion criteria were age >15 years and ovarian volume <25 mL; 386 women had one or more hormone parameter (AMH, LH, FSH, or total T) determined before oophorectomy. INTERVENTION(S) None. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE(S) A precise weight of the ovary was equated with ovarian volume. Associations between ovarian volume and AMH, the LH/FSH ratio, T concentrations, and body mass index (BMI) were evaluated. Patient characteristics in relation to ovarian volume cutoff values between 8 and 12 mL were also examined. RESULT(S) Ovarian volume was significantly positively associated with concentrations of AMH, the LH/FSH ratio, and T. Ovarian volume, concentrations of AMH and LH, and the LH/FSH ratio were significantly augmented in women having ovarian volumes above a threshold of 8, 9, and 10 mL compared with those below. Average age, FSH, and T concentrations did not differ between below and above the 10 mL threshold. There was a significant association between BMI and ovarian volume and BMI and T, while other hormone parameters were nonsignificant. CONCLUSION(S) The precise ovarian volume reflected ovarian activity measured as circulating concentrations of AMH and T as well as the LH/FSH ratio. These significant associations showed continuous progression, and a 10 mL threshold offered no clear difference compared with other volume threshold values.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between serum estrone (E1) level and other cardinal features in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). 133 Korean women aged 18-35 years who were newly diagnosed with PCOS at a university hospital were included in the present study. Blood samples were collected from all participants during the early follicular phase to determine the serum E1 level and other biochemical hormonal parameters. The total antral follicle count (TFC) and the total ovarian volume (TOV) were assessed using transvaginal or transrectal ultrasound. A significant correlation was found between serum E1 and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels in women with PCOS. In addition, statistically significant correlations were observed between serum E1 level and other hormonal parameters, including testosterone, free testosterone, dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate, and 17α-hydroxyprogesterone. With respect to the ultrasound features, serum E1 levels were significantly correlated with TFC and TOV. All results did not change after adjusting for body mass index (BMI). In conclusion, serum E1 level is significantly correlated with serum LH and androgen levels, and it may be a useful marker for representing the status of the ovarian volume in women with PCOS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to assess the effect of combined oral contraceptives (COCs) on polycystic ovarian morphology (PCOM) and serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels in Korean women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). METHODS This university hospital study enrolled 36 Korean women who were newly diagnosed with PCOS based on the Rotterdam criteria and were treated with COCs for at least 1 year. We retrospectively evaluated the ovarian volume and number of antral follicles using ultrasonography and assessed serum AMH levels at baseline and after 1 year of COC treatment. RESULTS Significant decreases in ovarian volume and antral follicle count were observed after 1 year of COC treatment. Compared to baseline, serum AMH levels were significantly decreased after 1 year. CONCLUSION COC treatment significantly affects ultrasound-assessed PCOM and serum AMH levels of patients with PCOS.

Abstract
Objective The aim of this study was to establish whether differences in ovarian size exist between the right and the left ovary of the same individual in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. Methods In total, 206 Korean women with polycystic ovary syndrome were included in this study. In all participants, a transvaginal or transrectal ultrasound examination was conducted in the early follicular phase of the menstrual cycle. Results A significant linear correlation was found between the two ovaries with regard to antral follicle count and ovarian volume. The mean antral follicle count in the right ovary (26.75±11.72) was significantly higher than that in the left ovary (23.98±10.85), and the mean volume of the right ovary (11.06±5.17 cm3) was significantly different from that of the left ovary (9.12±4.89 cm3). Conclusion Ovarian size is different between the right and the left ovary in women with polycystic ovary syndrome.

Abstract
Objective Our study aimed to investigate the relationship between polymorphisms (Apa1, Bsm1, Fok1, and Cdx2) in the VDR gene as well as AMH and AMHR2 genes and their influence on AMH and 25(OH)D levels in PCOS women. Study design Seventy-five patients with PCOS and 23 control women were included. Serum AMH and 25(OH)D levels in patients and controls were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Polymorphisms in VDR gene Fok1 C/T (rs2228587), Bsm1 A/G (rs1544410), Apa1 A/C (rs7975232), and Cdx2 A/G (rs11568820) polymorphisms as well as AMH G/T (rs10407022) and AMHR2 A/G (rs2002555) were analyzed using real-time PCR. Results Analysis of the VDR Cdx2 polymorphism showed a significantly higher frequency of the homozygous GG (mutant) genotype in the PCOS group as compared with the control group (p < 0.05). The analysis revealed a statistically significant correlation between the presence of FokI and ApaI polymorphisms and AMH levels in PCOS women (p < 0.05). The presence of mutant genotypes (CT, TT) in the Fok1 and (CA, CC) in the Apa1 polymorphisms were associated with higher AMH level in PCOS women (p < 0.05). No statistically significant correlations between AMH and AMHR2 polymorphisms and AMH level were found. Moreover, there was no correlation between AMH and 25(OH)D levels in the PCOS or in the control group. Conclusion It seems that the elevated AMH level is associated with VDR Fokl and Apal polymorphisms, but not with 25(OH)D levels in PCOS women. Further research is needed to determine the role of VDR polymorphism in AMH level in PCOS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To assess the prevalence of diminished ovarian reserve (DOR) in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in China, and to search for sensitive diagnostic parameters. METHODS Three hundred and thirty eight PCOS women aged 20-39 years were recruited. Basic characteristics, follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), estradiol (E2), testosterone and anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) were measured. The best indices to diagnose PCOS with DOR were assessed. RESULTS The prevalence of DOR in our Chinese PCOS patients was 16.9%. The level of E2 and FSH and the FSH/LH ratio had a positive correlation with PCOS and DOR (OR > 1, p < 0.05) independent of age and testosterone, while AMH and baseline antral follicle count had a negative correlation (OR < 1, p < 0.05). AMH was a good parameter to diagnose PCOS with DOR, the cutoff was 2.53 ng/ml, with sensitivity 92.5%, specificity 73.7% and area under curve 0.932. AMH had a significant positive correlation with LH (r = 0.016, p < 0.05) and testosterone (r = 0.209, p < 0.01), while had significant negative correlation with age (r=-0.140, p < 0.05), FSH (r=-0.229, p < 0.01) and FSH/LH ratio (r=-0.240, p < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS In our study, AMH was a sensitive parameter to diagnose PCOS with DOR, but to improve the accuracy it will still need further studies.

Abstract
The etiology of polycystic ovaries syndrome (PCOS) is unknown. Studies probing the role of genetic variants of anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) and its type II receptor (AMHR2) in the pathogenesis of PCOS have yielded inconsistent results. Thus, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the role of genetic variants of AMH/AMHR2 in the pathogenesis of PCOS. A systematic search of electronic databases was performed. Statistical analysis was performed using the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis software (Version 3). Pooled Odds Ratios (OR) (95% confidence intervals) were determined to assess the association between genetic variants of AMH/AMHR2 and PCOS. Five studies, involving a total of 2042 PCOS cases and 1071 controls, were included in the meta-analysis. Single nucleotide polymorphisms of AMH and AMHR2 did not appear to confer a heightened risk for PCOS (OR: 0.954, 95% CI: 0.848-1.073; P = 0.435; and OR: 1.074, 95% CI: 0.875-1.318; P = 0.494, respectively). In this study, genetic variants of AMH or AMHR2 were not found to be associated with a higher risk for PCOS.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the relationship between serum gonadotropin level and parameters related to insulin resistance in Korean women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). METHODS This retrospective study included 138 women aged 18 to 35 years who were newly diagnosed with PCOS according to the Rotterdam consensus. Participants were divided into three groups based on the serum luteinizing hormone to follicle-stimulating hormone (LH/FSH) ratio in the early follicular phase: group 1 (LH/FSH <1), group 2 (1.0≤ LH/FSH >2.0), and group 3 (LH/FSH ≥2.0). The correlations between the LH/FSH ratio and various metabolic parameters were evaluated using Pearson correlation coefficients. RESULTS Patients with higher LH/FSH ratios showed higher total antral follicle counts and higher total ovarian volume. In the comparison of anthropometric and biochemical parameters among the three groups, the waist to hip ratio was the only parameter that differed significantly among the groups (P=0.003). Correlation analysis revealed no significant correlations between serum LH/FSH ratios and biochemical parameters related to insulin resistance. However, after adjustments for age and body mass index, a significant correlation between total cholesterol level and serum LH/FSH ratio was observed (r=0.221, P=0.018). CONCLUSION Most parameters related to insulin resistance, with the exception of total cholesterol level, are unrelated to the inappropriate pattern of serum gonadotropin secretion in Korean women with PCOS.

Abstract
Objective To compare serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) and other endocrine parameters between patients diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and age-matched ovulatory women. Materials and methods AMH, DHEAS, FSH, LH, PRL, TSH and total testosterone (TT) were prospectively measured in oligo-ovulatory PCOS patients (n = 595) and in ovulatory non-PCOS women (n = 157) referred to a tertiary infertility center. Mean BMI was similar across the two study populations and there were no smokers in the sample. Patients in both groups were further classified into three categories by age: < 25 yrs, 25-34 yrs, and ≥ 35 yrs. Selected clinical and demographic characteristics were tabulated for each group. Results Serum AMH was significantly higher among PCOS patients compared to non-PCOS controls in the non-stratified sample (7.54 ± 5.8 vs. 2.49 ± 2.0 ng/mL, respectively; p < 0.0001), while serum FSH, DHEAS, TSH and prolactin were similar for both groups (p > 0.05). As expected, mean (total) testosterone levels were notably different between PCOS vs. non-PCOS controls (0.84 ± 0.76 vs. 0.43 ± 0.38 ng/mL, respectively; p < 0.001), and mean AMH level was significantly lower in the oldest age category (> 35 yrs) compared to both younger control groups (p < 0.0001). Both DHEAS and total testosterone decreased with age among PCOS patients, although mean serum DHEAS for women age > 35 yrs was significantly lower than DHEAS measured in younger women with PCOS (p < 0.02). For PCOS patients, AMH remained relatively stable irrespective of age. Conclusion Although AMH can serve as a satisfactory marker of ovarian reserve, for PCOS patients the expected decline in AMH associated with reproductive aging appears attenuated despite ovarian senescence. In contrast, mean DHEAS levels were markedly lower among older PCOS women (> 35 yrs) compared to younger PCOS patients.

Abstract
AIMS No study explores the association between follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and glucose metabolism in general women. We aim to investigate whether the variation of FSH is associated with prediabetes and diabetes in postmenopausal women. METHODS Our data were from survey on prevalence in East China for metabolic diseases and risk factors in 2014. Thousand six hundred and ten postmenopausal women at the age of 55-89 who were not using hormone replacement therapy were selected. Prediabetes and diabetes were defined according to American Diabetes Association 2014 criteria. FSH, luteinizing hormone, total testosterone and estradiol were measured by chemiluminescence. Multinomial logistic analyses were used for the association of FSH with prediabetes and diabetes, and linear regression for the association of FSH with fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and HbA1c. RESULTS Among the participants, 778 (48.3 %) had prediabetes and 121 (7.5 %) had newly diagnosed diabetes. In linear regression, after full adjustment for demographic variables, metabolic factors, E2 and LH, FSH was associated with FPG and HbA1c (P < 0.05). In logistic regression, increased quartiles of FSH were associated with significantly decreased odds ratios of prediabetes and diabetes (P for trend <0.01). This association was attenuated by waist circumference and HOMA-IR, but persisted in fully adjusted model (P for trend <0.05) in which, for the lowest compared with the highest quartile of FSH, the odds ratios of prediabetes and diabetes were 1.93 (95 % CI 1.21-3.08; P < 0.01) and 3.02 (95 % CI 1.10-8.31; P < 0.05), respectively. CONCLUSIONS Low FSH was associated with prediabetes and diabetes in postmenopausal women. The associations might be partially explained by adiposity and insulin resistance.

Abstract
Management of ovarian dysfunctions requires accurate estimation of ovarian reserve (OR). Therefore, reproductive hormones and antral follicle count (AFC) are assessed to indicate OR. Serum anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH) is a unique biomarker that has a critical role in folliculogenesis as well as steroidogenesis within ovaries. Secretion from preantral and early antral follicles renders AMH as the earliest marker to show OR decline. In this review we discuss the dynamics of circulating AMH that remarkably vary with sex and age. As it emerges as a marker of gonadal development and reproductive disorders, here we summarize the role of AMH in female reproductive physiology and provide evidence of higher accuracy in predicting ovarian response to stimulation. Further, we attempt to compile potential clinical applications in children and adults. We propose that AMH evaluation has a potential role in effectively monitoring chemotherapy and pelvic radiation induced ovarian toxicity. Furthermore, AMH guided ovarian stimulation can lead to individualization of therapeutic strategies for infertility treatment. However future research on AMH levels within follicular fluid may pave the way to establish it as a marker of "quality" besides "quantity" of the growing follicles.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical, endocrinic and metabolic indicators in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with different Rotterdam criteria (RC)-based subtypes, thus to guide the treatments. Six hundred and forty-seven PCOS cases were divided into four groups, with 60 cases set as the control group, the clinical and endocrinic indicators of different subtypes were evaluated. Group A was the most common and the most serious (63.2%), while group B was the least (9%). The clinical signs, as well as the endocrinic and metabolic characteristics, of the two groups were similar, but group A exhibited higher androgen level and hirsutism score. The phenotypes of group C (15.6%) and group D (12.9%) were mild, but compared with the control group, luteinizing hormone (LH) and LH/follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) were significantly increased. Insulin resistance in these four subtypes were positively correlated with apolipoprotein B (ApoB)/apolipoprotein A1 (ApoA1), while only positively correlated with serum total testosterone, and negatively correlated with LH/FSH in group A. RC-PCOS typing could reflect the basic characteristics of the disease. Hyperandrogenism was the main basis for distinguishing PCOS, although the non-hyperandrogenism group could represent a relatively mild phenotype of PCOS, there might exist different pathogenic pathways.

Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between the serum anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) level and parameters related to insulin resistance in Korean women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). A total of 95 Korean women aged 18-33 years who were newly diagnosed with PCOS according to the Rotterdam Consensus at a university hospital were included in this study. Blood samples were collected from all participants during the early follicular phase using tubes without anticoagulants after an overnight fasting to determine the serum AMH level and other biochemical parameters, and then a standard 2-h 75-g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) was performed for all participants. All patients with PCOS were divided into two groups based on the serum AMH level: group 1 (AMH < 10.0 ng/ml) and group 2 (AMH ≥ 10.0 ng/ml). The clinical variables were not significantly different between the two groups. The mean postprandial glucose level at 1 h (PPG1) in group 1 (111.70 ± 4.9 mg/dl) was significantly lower than that in group 2 (136.76 ± 9.86 mg/dl). No significant differences between the two groups were found in the other insulin resistance-related parameters. In conclusion, the serum AMH level may be related to PPG1 in women with PCOS.

Abstract
Wide regional differences in the age-related Anti Mullerian hormone (AMH) regression patterns or age at onset of natural menopause have been reported, possibly reflecting genetic, socioeconomic, environmental, racial or ethnic peculiarities. Moreover, adaptation of AMH levels from different assays using regression functions may lack accuracy and externally defined references for AMH levels may not fully comply with a specific geographical area. The current study aimed to establish an accurate mathematical relationship between AMH serum values and age in a large group of women from Romania, as any consistent difference from previously reported regression models may aid in building specific profiles for the AMH decline with age in this geographical region. Our study pointed out to the quadratic regression as the most fitted pattern of correlation for all the age groups between 24 and 45. To our knowledge the current manuscript is based on the singular study carried out in this geographical region, generating a particular age-related pattern of association between age and serum AMH levels in women, regardless of their subjacent pathologies.
