Abstract
We investigated the usefulness of quantitative 99mTc-white blood cell (WBC) single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/computed tomography (CT) for predicting lower extremity amputation in diabetic foot infection (DFI). A total of 93 feet of 83 consecutive patients with DFI who underwent WBC SPECT/CT for treatment planning were retrospectively analysed. The clinical and SPECT/CT parameters were collected along with the measurements of the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) at DFI. Statistical logistic regression analysis was performed to explore the predictors of LEA and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was analysed to assess the predictive value of SPECT/CT. The independent predictors of amputation were previous amputation (OR 11.9), numbers of SPECT/CT lesions (OR 2.1), and SUVmax of DFI; either continuous SUVmax (1-increase) (OR 1.3) or categorical SUVmax > 1.1 (OR 21.6). However, the conventional SPECT/CT interpretation failed to predict amputation. In ROC analysis, the SUVmax yielded a fair predictor (area under the curve (AUC) 0.782) of amputation. The model developed from these independent predictors yielded an excellent performance for predicting amputation (AUC 0.873). Quantitative WBC SPECT/CT can provide new information useful for predicting the outcomes and guiding treatment for patients with DFI.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The prognostic value of conducting 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging has yielded different results in patients with laryngeal cancer and hypopharyngeal cancer, but these results are controversial, and there is a lack of dedicated studies on each type of cancer. This study aimed to evaluate whether combining radiomic analysis of pre- and post-treatment 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging features and clinical parameters has additional prognostic value in patients with laryngeal cancer and hypopharyngeal cancer. METHODS From 2008 to 2016, data on patients diagnosed with cancer of the larynx and hypopharynx were retrospectively collected. The patients underwent pre- and post-treatment 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging. The values of ΔPre-Post PET were measured from the texture features. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression was used to select the most predictive features to formulate a Rad-score for both progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). Kaplan-Meier curve analysis and Cox regression were employed to assess PFS and OS. Then, the concordance index (C-index) and calibration plot were used to evaluate the performance of the radiomics nomogram. RESULTS Study data were collected for a total of 91 patients. The mean follow-up period was 71.5 mo. (8.4-147.3). The Rad-score was formulated based on the texture parameters and was significantly associated with both PFS (p = 0.024) and OS (p = 0.009). When predicting PFS, only the Rad-score demonstrated a significant association (HR 2.1509, 95% CI [1.100-4.207], p = 0.025). On the other hand, age (HR 1.116, 95% CI [1.041-1.197], p = 0.002) and Rad-score (HR 33.885, 95% CI [2.891-397.175], p = 0.005) exhibited associations with OS. The Rad-score value showed good discrimination when it was combined with clinical parameters in both PFS (C-index 0.802-0.889) and OS (C-index 0.860-0.958). The calibration plots also showed a good agreement between the observed and predicted survival probabilities. CONCLUSIONS Combining clinical parameters with radiomics analysis of pre- and post-treatment 18F-FDG PET/CT parameters in patients with laryngeal cancer and hypopharyngeal cancer might have additional prognostic value.

Abstract
The aim of our retrospective study is to develop and externally validate an 18F-FDG PET-derived radiomics model for predicting pathologic complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer patients. A total of 87 breast cancer patients underwent curative surgery after NAC at Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital and were randomly assigned to a training cohort and an internal validation cohort. Radiomic features were extracted from pretreatment PET images. A radiomic-score model was generated using the LASSO method. A combination model incorporating significant clinical variables was constructed. These models were externally validated in a separate cohort of 28 patients from Soonchunhyang University Buscheon Hospital. The model performances were assessed using area under the receiver operating characteristic (AUC). Seven radiomic features were selected to calculate the radiomic-score. Among clinical variables, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 status was an independent predictor of pCR. The radiomic-score model achieved good discriminability, with AUCs of 0.963, 0.731, and 0.729 for the training, internal validation, and external validation cohorts, respectively. The combination model showed improved predictive performance compared to the radiomic-score model alone, with AUCs of 0.993, 0.772, and 0.906 in three cohorts, respectively. The 18F-FDG PET-derived radiomic-based model is useful for predicting pCR after NAC in breast cancer.

Abstract
Experiments that take advantage of head fixed behavioral tasks have been a staple of systems neuroscience research for half a century. More recently, rodents came to the forefront of these efforts, primarily due to the rich experimental possibilities afforded by modern genetic tools. There is however a considerable barrier to entering this field, requiring expertise in engineering, hardware- and software development, and significant time- and financial commitment. Here, we present a comprehensive, open-source hardware and software solution to implement a Head-fixed Environment for Rodent Behaviors (HERBs). Our solution provides access to three frequently used experimental frameworks (two-alternative forced choice, go-nogo, or passive sensory stimulus presentation) in a single package. The required hardware can be built at a relatively low cost compared to commercially available solutions, from off-the-shelf components. Our graphical user interface (GUI) based software provides great experimental flexibility and requires no programming experience for either installation or use. Furthermore, HERBs takes advantage of motorized components that allow the precise, temporal separation of behavioral phases (stimulus presentation, delays, response window and reward). Overall, we present a solution that will allow laboratories to join the growing community of systems neuroscience research at a substantially lower cost of entry.Significance statementIn the past two decades, head fixed rodent preparations have become an invaluable tool in systems neuroscience. Still, setting up sensory perception or complex behavioral experiments remains an arduous task, requiring expertise in hardware- and software development, as well as significant time and financial investment. Here, we present a comprehensive, low-cost package to utilize a Head fixed Environment for Rodent Behaviors (HERBs). Our solution is complete with a flexible graphical user interface and can be built from mostly off-the-shelf components and operated by experimenters without any programming knowledge.

Abstract
Spondyloarthritis (SpA) is characterized by inflammatory back pain. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was the earlier gold standard technique for detecting early inflammatory change. We reassessed the diagnostic utility of sacroiliac joint/sacrum (SIS) ratios of single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) for identifying sacroiliitis. We aimed to investigate of SPECT/CT in diagnosing SpA using a rheumatologist's visual scoring of SIS ratios assessment. We conducted a single-center, medical records review study of patients with lower back pain who underwent bone SPECT/CT from August 2016 to April 2020. We employed semiquantitative visual bone scoring methods of SIS ratio. The uptake of each sacroiliac joint was compared to that of the sacrum (0-2). A score of 2 for the sacroiliac joint of either side was considered diagnostic of sacroiliitis. Of the 443 patients assessed, 40 had axial SpA (axSpA), 24 being radiographic axSpA and 16 being nonradiographic axSpA. The sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values of SIS ratio of SPECT/CT for axSpA were 87.5%, 56.5%, 16.6%, and 97.8%, respectively. In receiver operating curve analysis, MRI better diagnosed axSpA than did SIS ratio of SPECT/CT. Although the diagnostic utility of SIS ratio of SPECT/CT was inferior to MRI, visual scoring of SPECT/CT affords high sensitivity and negative predictive value in axSpA. When MRI is inappropriate for certain patients, SIS ratio of SPECT/CT is an alternative tool for identifying axSpA in real practice.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To predict the recurrence of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) within 2 years after curative-intent treatment using a machine-learning approach with PET/CT-based radiomics. PATIENTS AND METHODS A total of 77 NSCLC patients who underwent pretreatment 18 F-fluorodeoxyglucose PET/CT were retrospectively analyzed. Five clinical features (age, sex, tumor stage, tumor histology, and smoking status) and 48 radiomic features extracted from primary tumors on PET were used for binary classifications. These were ranked, and a subset of useful features was selected based on Gini coefficient scores in terms of associations with relapsed status. Areas under the receiver operating characteristics curves (AUC) were yielded by six machine-learning algorithms (support vector machine, random forest, neural network, naive Bayes, logistic regression, and gradient boosting). Model performances were compared and validated via random sampling. RESULTS A PET/CT-based radiomic model was developed and validated for predicting the recurrence of NSCLC during the first 2 years after curation. The most important features were SD and variance of standardized uptake value, followed by low-intensity short-zone emphasis and high-intensity zone emphasis. The naive Bayes model with the 15 best-ranked features displayed the best performance (AUC: 0.816). Prediction models using the five best PET-derived features outperformed those using five clinical variables. CONCLUSION The machine learning model using PET-derived radiomic features showed good performance for predicting the recurrence of NSCLC during the first 2 years after a curative intent therapy. PET/CT-based radiomic features may help clinicians improve the risk stratification of relapsed NSCLC.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Because the articular layer is more prone to retraction than the bursal layer of the supraspinatus tendon, it is important to restore each layer anatomically while repairing delaminated rotator cuff tears (RCTs). PURPOSE To compare clinical outcomes and tendon integrity between knotless layer-by-layer and conventional en masse repair techniques for delaminated RCTs. STUDY DESIGN Cohort study; Level of evidence, 3. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed data from 174 consecutive patients with delaminated RCTs treated by arthroscopic suture bridge repair. Only 115 patients with medium to large supraspinatus tears with delamination were included. The 33 patients treated using the knotless layer-by-layer technique (group 2) were matched 1:1 with patients treated using en masse repair with the suture bridge technique (group 1) based on propensity scores. Tendon thickness was measured on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Signal changes in the bursal, articular, and intratendinous layers were assessed using T2-weighted MRI. RESULTS Postoperatively, statistically significant improvements were seen in both groups compared with preoperatively functional scores. At the final follow-up, there was a statistically significant difference in the Constant score, which was higher in group 2 than in group 1 (91.4 ± 6.0 and 84.3 ± 16.4, respectively; P = .005). There was 1 case of a retear in each group, representing a 3% retear rate. Group 2 had thicker tendons than group 1 (6.9 ± 1.1 and 6.0 ± 1.2 mm, respectively; P = .017). On T2-weighted MRI, a low signal intensity in the articular layer was more common in group 2 (P = .046). CONCLUSION En masse repair using the suture bridge technique and the knotless layer-by-layer technique were both effective. Regarding tendon healing, no significant differences were seen in retear rates. However, superior results in terms of the Constant score, tendon thickness, and signal intensity in the articular layer were observed using the knotless layer-by-layer technique.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION We compared the angle of the humerus and plate and to assess compatibility of a plate to the proximal humerus using three-dimensional (3D) printed models. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 120 cases were included, who underwent anteroposterior shoulder radiographs. From these, 30 cases with 3D shoulder computed tomography scans were randomly selected to print 3D model. The lateral angle between the lateral cortex of the humeral shaft and lateral border of the greater tuberosity (GT), neck-shaft angle, and height from the most proximal point of the GT to the angular point were measured. When the plates were applied on the 3D models, the gap from the most proximal point of the GT to the proximal rim of the plate was measured. RESULTS The mean lateral angle in plain radiographs was 12.9 ± 2.2° and height from the most proximal point of the GT to the angular point was 44.4 ± 4.7 mm. The bending angles of the three plates were 8° and 10°. Height from the proximal rim of the plate to the bending point was 42.4, 42.0 and 43.8 mm. In 98% of cases, the lateral angle of the humerus was larger than all three plates. In 43% of cases, height of the GT was smaller than height of plates. When plates were applied to the 3D model, the mean gap from GT to plate was 4.8 ± 2.8 mm. CONCLUSIONS There was large variation in the lateral angle of the proximal humerus, which was not correlated with the neck-shaft angle. The lateral angle of the humerus was larger than the plates and prone to varus reduction and medial collapse. LEVEL OF EVIDENCE OR CLINICAL RELEVANCE Basic science study.

Abstract
Simple Summary Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients are at considerable risk of recurrence or second primary cancer (SPC) after curative therapy. The utility of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) surveillance to detect recurrent lesions in NSCLC patients without suspicion of recurrence has not been established. The aim of our retrospective study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of surveillance FDG PET/CT for detecting clinically unsuspected recurrence or SPC in patients with NSCLC after curative therapy. In a cohort of 2684 NSCLC patients after curative therapy, surveillance FDG PET/CT showed good diagnostic efficacy for detecting clinically unexpected recurrence or SPC. Furthermore, the diagnostic performance was improved in subgroups of patients with advanced stage prior to curative therapy, PET/CT scans performed within 3 years after curative-intent therapy, and curative surgery. Surveillance PET/CT can be more useful when performed soon after therapy in curative surgery recipients and those with an advanced disease stage considering its diagnostic efficacy and yield. Abstract We evaluated the diagnostic value of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/CT surveillance for detecting clinically unsuspected recurrence or second primary cancer (SPC) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) after curative therapy. A total of 4478 surveillance FDG PET/CT scans from 2864 NSCLC patients without suspicion of recurrence after curative therapy were reviewed retrospectively. In 274 of 2864 (9.6%) patients, recurrent NSCLC or SPC was found by surveillance PET/CT during clinical follow-up. Surveillance PET/CT scans showed sensitivity of 98.9% (274/277), specificity of 98.1% (4122/4201), accuracy of 98.2% (4396/4478), positive predictive value (PPV) of 77.6% (274/353), and negative predictive value of 99.9% (4122/4125). The specificity and accuracy in the curative surgery group were significantly higher than those in the curative radiotherapy group. PPV was significantly improved in subgroups of patients with advanced stage prior to curative therapy, PET/CT scans performed within 3 years after curative-intent therapy, and curative surgery. FDG PET/CT surveillance showed good diagnostic efficacy for detecting clinically unexpected recurrence or SPC in NSCLC patients after curative therapy. It can be more useful when performed soon after therapy in curative surgery recipients and those with an advanced disease stage considering its diagnostic efficacy and yield.

Abstract
We investigated the diagnostic value of the maximum standardized uptake value (SUV) at hand and wrist joints for differentiating rheumatic diseases via bone single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/computed tomography (CT). A total of 84 patients manifesting hand and wrist pain (58 women; age, 49.8 ± 15.4 years) were finally diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis (RA, n = 42), osteoarthritis (OA, n = 16), fibromyalgia (FM, n = 2), and other rheumatic diseases (n = 24). The SUV of each patient was measured in 32 joints including the distal interphalangeal (DIP), proximal interphalangeal (PIP), metacarpophalangeal (MCP), and wrist joints bilaterally. Differences in pain and SUVs between specific rheumatic diseases were assessed using the chi-squared test or one-way analysis of variance. Using the highest SUV (hSUV) in each patient, the diagnostic performance in differentiating specific diseases was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis. Pain symptoms were present in 886 (33.0%) sites in a total of 2688 joints. In four joint groups (DIP, PIP, MCP, and wrist), the SUVs of joints with pain were significantly higher than those of pain-free joints (all P < 0.001). Active joint sites with higher SUVs than the median value of each joint group were the most common in RA (55.1%). RA showed the greatest hSUV in the PIP (3.0 ± 2.4), MCP (3.5 ± 3.4), and wrist (3.3 ± 1.9) joint groups. FM was characterized by the lowest hSUV of all joint groups. In ROC curve analysis, the cumulative hSUV of the PIP, MCP, and wrist joint groups showed good performance for evaluating RA (area under the curve (AUC), 0.668; P = 0.005). The summation of the hSUVs at all joint groups had an excellent predictive performance for FM (AUC, 0.878; P < 0.001). Consequently, the arthritic activity of the hand and wrist joints based on SUV differed according to specific rheumatic diseases. Quantitative SPECT/CT may provide objective information related to arthritic activity for differentiating specific rheumatic diseases.

Abstract
Since the coronavirus disease outbreak in 2019, several antibody therapeutics have been developed to treat severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections. Antibody therapeutics are effective in neutralizing the virus and reducing hospitalization in patients with mild and moderate infections. These therapeutics target the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2; however, emerging mutations in this protein reduce their efficiency. In this study, we developed a universal SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibody. We generated a humanized monoclonal antibody, MG1141A, against the receptor-binding domain of the spike protein through traditional mouse immunization. We confirmed that MG1141A could effectively neutralize live viruses, with an EC50 of 92 pM, and that it exhibited effective Fc-mediated functions. Additionally, it retained its neutralizing activity against the alpha (UK), beta (South Africa), and gamma (Brazil) variants of SARS-CoV-2. Taken together, our study contributes to the development of a novel antibody therapeutic approach, which can effectively combat emerging SARS-CoV-2 mutations.

Abstract
PURPOSE We investigated the diagnostic performance of single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/computed tomography (CT) as a combination of functional and anatomic imaging, in patients with unspecified chest wall pain. METHODS Fifty-two patients with unspecified chest wall pain and no history of recent major traumatic events or cardiac disease were included. The number and location of radioactive chest wall lesions were evaluated on both planar images and SPECT/CT. The clinical diagnosis was made based on all of the clinical and imaging data and follow-up information. RESULTS Chest wall diseases were diagnosed in 42 patients (80.8 %). SPECT/CT showed abnormal findings in 35 (67.3 %) patients with positive predictive value (PPV) of 97.1 %. SPECT/CT revealed 56 % more lesions than planar bone scan (P = 0.002) and most of the abnormal radioactive lesions (94.6 %) showed combined morphological changes on the matched CT component. When comparing between age subgroups (< 60 y vs. ≥ 60 y), the prevalence of chest wall disease and diagnosis rate of fracture was significantly higher in the older age group. On SPECT/CT, the older age group showed higher frequency of having abnormal finding (95.8 % vs. 42.9 %, P < 0.001) and significantly more lesions were detected (a total of 189 vs. 32, P = 0.003). CONCLUSION SPECT/CT showed good diagnostic performance and proved to have higher sensitivity, detecting 56 % more lesions than planar bone scan. A negative result could be helpful for excluding pathologic chest wall disease. SPECT/CT might be recommended for integration in to the diagnostic workup in patients with unspecified chest wall pain, especially in patients ≥ 60 y of age, considering the high disease prevalence and the high frequency of positive results.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is reported to affect up to 70 % of cancer survivors. Despite evidence that CIPN-related impairments often translate into balance and mobility deficits, the effects on stepping and quality of gait, well-documented risk factors for falls, are unclear. AIMS (i) Establish choice-stepping reaction time (CSRT) performance in survivors with CIPN compared to young and older healthy controls and people with Parkinson's disease; (ii) document walking stability; (iii) investigate relationships between stepping and gait data to objective and patient-reported outcomes. METHODS 41 cancer survivors with CIPN (mean (SD) age: 60.8 (9.7) years) who were ≥3months post chemotherapy, performed tests of simple and inhibitory CSRT. Walking stability measures were derived from 3-D accelerometry data during the 6-minute walk test. CIPN was assessed using neurological grading and patient-reported outcome measures (European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire in CIPN Questionnaire scale EORTC CIPN20). RESULTS In both stepping tests, CIPN participants performed at the level of adults aged 10 years older and people with mild to moderate Parkinson's disease. Mean (SD) total stepping response times in both CSRT (1160 (190) milliseconds) and inhibitory CSRT (1191 (164) milliseconds) tests were not associated with objective neurological grading but were correlated with increased difficulty feeling the ground. Participants with lower-limb vibration sensation deficit had slower and more variable CSRT times. There were no associations between walking stability and objective measures of CIPN, and limited correlations with the EORTC-CIPN20. CONCLUSIONS Cancer survivors with CIPN showed deficits in voluntary stepping responses and seemed to compensate for their sensory and motor deficits by walking slower to maintain stability. Objective and patient-reported outcomes of CIPN were correlated with slower and more variable stepping response times. Future studies should aim to identify the causes of the apparent premature decline in cognitive-motor function and develop remediating interventions.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE The maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) in single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) can help quantify disease activity of the accessory navicular bone (ANB). In this multicenter quantitative bone SPECT/CT study, we investigated whether SUVmax was correlated with ANB severity, thereby allowing prediction of surgical resection for ANB treatment. METHODS Two-hundred forty-six patients (men:women = 135:111, mean age = 39.3 years), who had undergone quantitative Tc-99m diphosphonate SPECT/CT of the feet, were recruited from four hospitals. SUVmax was measured using vendor-provided quantitation software. The SUVmax values were compared in relation to ANB type (type 1 = 62, type 2 = 136 and type 3 = 14), presence of pain and surgical treatment. RESULTS SUVmax (mean ± SD) was the highest in type 2 ANB (4.41 ± 5.2; P = 0.0101). The 17 resected ANBs showed greater SUVmax (8.27 ± 5.23; P < 0.0001) than the 141 asymptomatic ANBs (2.30 ± 1.68) or the 54 symptomatic ANBs without surgery (6.15 ± 4.40). Since surgery is exclusively indicated for ANB type 2, surgical resection was investigated only in these cases. In univariate analysis, young age and SUVmax were significantly associated with surgical treatment, but only SUVmax was a significant predictor of surgery in multivariate analysis (P < 0.0001). Type 2 ANBs were treated by surgery in 32.5% (13/40) of the cases when SUVmax was ≥5, and in only 1.35% (1/74) of the cases when SUVmax was <5 (P < 0.0001). CONCLUSION ANB disease activity and excision were strongly associated with the SUVmax derived from quantitative bone SPECT/CT. Our study suggests an absolute SUVmax cutoff for ultimate ANB surgical treatment, but additional prospective studies are required to validate this finding.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the changes in high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) level and metabolic indices such as blood pressure, serum lipid level and serum glucose level according to grip strength in postmenopausal women. METHOD Data from participants (postmenopausal women) in the Seventh Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2018 were analyzed. Absolute handgrip strength was the sum of the maximal grip strength of both hands, and relative handgrip was calculated as absolute handgrip divided by the body mass index. We performed linear regression analysis after adjusting for confounders to assess the influence of grip strength on hs-CRP level and metabolic indices. RESULTS Linear regression analysis showed that after adjusting for confounders, with an increased absolute grip strength, systolic blood pressure and hs-CRP levels were decreased; however, the changes were not significant for the remaining indices. Relative grip strength was associated with hs-CRP levels and metabolic indices. With a high relative grip strength, hs-CRP, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose, hemoglobin A1c and triglyceride levels were decreased, while the high-density lipoprotein cholesterol level was increased. CONCLUSION Our study evaluated the overall health status using grip strength in postmenopausal women. The grip strength adjusted by body size was suitable in evaluating the overall health status, including inflammatory and metabolic indices. Additionally, increased grip strength was associated with a better health status in postmenopausal women.

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the glucose metabolism at delay phase measured by pretreatment dual-time-point 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) positron emission tomography (PET)/ computed tomography (CT) provides prognostic information independent of well-known prognostic factors in patients with intrahepatic or perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (ICC or PCC).From July 2012 to December 2017, 55 patients (men 27, women 28, mean age 68 ± 11 years) with pathologically proven ICC or PCC were enrolled in this retrospective study. The dual-time-point 18F-FDG PET/CT as part of a staging workup was performed in all patients. The patient's data includes age, sex, serum CA19-9, presence of LN or distant metastasis, early SUVmax (early maximum standardized uptake value [eSUV]), delay SUVmax (delay maximum standardized uptake value [dSUV]), retention index of SUVmax (percent change of maximum standardized uptake values [ΔSUV]), neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and histopathology including pCEA, p53, Ki-67 index. The analysis of the relationship between metabolic parameters and survival was done using the Kaplan-Meier curve and Cox proportional hazards regression model.Median survival for all patients was 357 days. Median early and delay SUVmax was 5.2 (range: 2.0-21.4) and 6.5 (range 2.7-24.5), respectively. The overall survival was found to be significantly related to eSUV, dSUV, ΔSUV, age, serum CA19-9 and NLR in univariate analysis. In multivariate analysis, dSUV (P = .014, 95%CI; 1.30-10.7, HR 3.74) and ΔSUVmax (P = .037, 95%CI; 1.05-6.12, HR 2.5) were independent factors of overall survival. Kaplan-Meier curve analysis clearly showed the significant difference of overall survival between 2 groups (high eSUV, low eSUV + high ΔSUV vs low eSUV and ΔSUV, P < .001) among the comparisons of the SUV parameters on FDG PET. In the receiver operating characteristic analysis using combinations of the SUV parameters, the 2 groups [eSUV + ΔSUV (P = .0001, area under the curve [AUC] 0.68) and dSUV + ΔSUV (P = .0002, AUC 0.71)] showed significantly larger AUC than the other groups applying eSUV or dSUV alone (AUC 0.61 and AUC 0.68).dSUV and ΔSUV on pretreatment dual-time-point 18F-FDG PET/CT can be useful parameters in the prediction of survival in patients with ICC or PCC.

Abstract
Pulmonary Langerhans cell histiocytosis (PLCH) is a rare, multi-systemic disease primarily affecting young male adults with a history of smoking. The two patients with PLCH in our report showed relatively early and atypical radiologic presentations at initial evaluation. On chest CT, PLCH presents variable radiologic features depending on the evolutional stage of the disease. Atypical CT features of PLCH may render precise radiologic diagnosis difficult and usually require lung biopsy for a confirmation of the diagnosis. Our case review is aimed at raising the awareness of radiologists on the atypical CT features of PLCH, to help make accurate radiologic diagnosis and prevent unnecessary and invasive diagnostic procedures.

Abstract
Adolescence is a time of intense cortical development and a period of heightened sensitivity to insult. To determine how sex affects the short- and long-term outcomes of early-adolescent stress exposure, we subjected prepubescent (postnatal day 30) male and female mice to repeated multiple concurrent stressors (RMS). In the posterior parietal cortex (PPC), RMS caused the elimination of excitatory synapses in deeper layers while inhibitory synapse density was predominantly diminished in superficial layers. These short-term effects coincided with reduced visuo-spatial working memory and were similar in both sexes. The loss of excitatory synapses and impaired working memory persisted in males past a 30-day recovery period. In contrast, we observed a remarkable recovery of excitatory transmission and behavioral performance in females. Inhibitory synapse density recovered in both sexes. We have also observed a late onset anxiety phenotype in RMS exposed females that was absent in males. Overall, our results indicate that there are marked sex differences in the long-term effects of prepubescent stress on cortical synapses and behavior.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The presence of an acromial spur implies a rotator cuff disorder due to impingement between the acromial spur and the rotator cuff. The purpose of the study was to observe acromial spurs using ultrasonography and to compare measurements between plain radiographs and sonograms. METHODS We retrospectively enrolled 51 consecutive patients with acromial spurs, which were interpreted on preoperative plain radiographs (supraspinatus outlet view and 30° caudal tilt) and preoperative sonograms. The ultrasonography transducer was held vertically and continuously moved laterally, which corresponded to the long axis of the long head of the biceps. The distance from the most distal margin of the original acromion to the most projected point of the acromial spur was measured. RESULTS No significant difference was found between the plain radiograph and ultrasonography measurements (p=0.186). A moderate to strong correlation was detected between the ultrasonography and supraspinatus outlet-view measurements (r=0.776, p=0.000). CONCLUSIONS Anteriorly projected acromial spurs were well-visualized by ultrasonography. No discrepancy in acromial spur length was detected between the use of plain radiography (supraspinatus outlet view and 30° caudal-tilt view) and ultrasonography. The correlation coefficients between the plain radiography and ultrasonography measurements exceeded 0.7.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Dopamine transporter (DAT) imaging may enable clinicians to discriminate idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) from other parkinsonian disorders. However, a specific pattern of dopaminergic loss in DAT imaging of iNPH patients remains to be further elucidated. METHODS In this preliminary study, 11 patients with iNPH in our hospital between March 2017 and February 2019 were finally enrolled. A diagnosis of iNPH was made according to the two established criteria. For visual analysis of DAT imaging, a striatum was divided into five domains. A semi-quantitative visual assessment was performed with a consensus between a nuclear medicine specialist and an experienced neurologist who were blinded to the clinical diagnosis. RESULTS Striatal dopaminergic deficits were abnormal in 90.9% (10/11) of patients with iNPH. The degree of dopaminergic reduction was mild and heterogeneous. However, a tendency of preferential striatal DAT loss in the caudate nucleus (90.9%, 10/11) than in the putamen (72.7%, 8/11) was observed, whereas ventral portion (9.1%, 1/11) was relatively preserved. CONCLUSION Striatal dopaminergic depletion might be mild and heterogeneous in patients with iNPH. These dopaminergic deficits were more common in the caudate nucleus than in the putamen, suggesting a pattern different from other degenerative parkinsonian disorders.

Abstract
Background The glenoid version of the shoulder joint correlates with the stability of the glenohumeral joint and the clinical results of total shoulder arthroplasty. We sought to analyze and compare the glenoid version measured by traditional axial two-dimensional (2D) computed tomography (CT) and three-dimensional (3D) reconstructed images at different levels. Methods A total of 30 cases, including 15 male and 15 female patients, who underwent 3D shoulder CT imaging was randomly selected and matched by sex consecutively at one hospital. The angular difference between the scapular body axis and 2D CT slice axis was measured. The glenoid version was assessed at three levels (midpoint, upper one-third, and center of the lower circle of the glenoid) using Friedman’s method in the axial plane with 2D CT images and at the same level of three different transverse planes using a 3D reconstructed image. Results The mean difference between the scapular body axis on the 3D reconstructed image and the 2D CT slice axis was 38.4°. At the level of the midpoint of the glenoid, the measurements were 1.7°±4.9° on the 2D CT images and −1.8°±4.1° in the 3D reconstructed image. At the level of the center of the lower circle, the measurements were 2.7°±5.2° on the 2D CT images and −0.5°±4.8° in the 3D reconstructed image. A statistically significant difference was found between the 2D CT and 3D reconstructed images at all three levels. Conclusions The glenoid version is measured differently between axial 2D CT and 3D reconstructed images at three levels. Use of 3D reconstructed imaging can provide a more accurate glenoid version profile relative to 2D CT. The glenoid version is measured differently at different levels.

Abstract
OBJECTIVE In the context of increasing numbers of childhood cancer survivors (CCS), this study aimed to enhance understanding of the biophysical basis for long term chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy from different chemotherapy agents in CCS. METHODS Detailed cross-sectional neurophysiological examination, using median nerve axonal excitability studies, alongside clinical assessments, in 103 long term CCS (10.5 ± 0.6 years post-treatment). RESULTS Cisplatin treated CCS (n = 16) demonstrated multiple sensory axonal excitability changes including increased threshold (P < 0.05), alterations in depolarising and hyperpolarising threshold electrotonus (P < 0.05) and reduction in resting and minimum IV slope (P < 0.01). Vincristine treated CCS (n = 73) were comparable to controls, except for prolonged distal motor latency (P = 0.001). No differences were seen in the non-neurotoxic chemotherapy group (n = 14). Abnormalities were more evident in the cisplatin subgroup with greater clinical neuropathy manifestations. CONCLUSION Persistent long term changes in axonal biophysical properties vary with different chemotherapy agents, most evident after cisplatin exposure. Longitudinal studies of nerve function during chemotherapy treatment are required to further evaluate these differences and their mechanistic basis. SIGNIFICANCE This study provides a unique biophysical perspective for persistent cisplatin related neurotoxicity in children, previously under recognised.

Abstract
This study aimed to gain insight on the effect of different seasons of the year on the expression pattern of growth factor and hormone receptors involved in follicle development. A novel follicle wall biopsy technique was used to collect in vivo follicle wall layers (ie, granulosa, theca interna, and theca externa) and follicular fluid samples from growing dominant follicles, simultaneously and repeatedly, using the same mares during the spring anovulatory (SAN), spring ovulatory (SOV), summer (SU), and fall ovulatory (FOV) seasons. The immunofluorescent expression patterns of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), Ki-67, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR), and LH receptor (LHR) were evaluated in each follicle wall layer, in addition to intrafollicular estradiol and nitric oxide (NO). Proliferative proteins (EGFR and Ki-67) were highly (P < 0.05-P < 0.001) expressed during the SOV season compared with the SAN and FOV seasons. Lower (P < 0.05-P < 0.001) expression of both proteins was observed during SU compared with the SOV season. The expression of VEGFR was greater (P < 0.05-P < 0.01) in the theca interna of dominant follicles during the SOV season compared with the SAN and SU seasons. Similarly, in the overall quantification, the VEGFR expression was greater (P < 0.001) during the SOV season compared with the SU and FOV seasons. A higher (P < 0.05) LHR expression was detected in the theca interna during the SOV season than the SAN season. Furthermore, a higher (P < 0.05-P < 0.001) expression of LHR was observed in the granulosa, theca interna, and in the overall quantification during the SOV season compared with the SU and FOV seasons. Intrafollicular NO concentration did not differ (P > 0.05) among different seasons of the year. The intrafollicular estradiol concentration was higher (P < 0.05) during the SU compared with the SAN season and higher (P < 0.05) during the FOV season compared with the SAN and SOV seasons. In conclusion, the synergistic effect of lower expression of proliferative protein, angiogenic, and LH receptors in at least some of the layers of the follicle wall seems to trigger dominant follicles toward the anovulation process during the spring and fall transitional seasons.

Abstract
AIM To compare the diagnostic performance of the 2017 (v2017) and 2018 versions (v2018) of the Liver Imaging-Reporting and Data System (LI-RADS) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using gadoxetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (Gd-EOB-MRI) and to evaluate the effect in v2018. MATERIALS AND METHODS Treatment-naive patients at high-risk for HCC who underwent Gd-EOB-MRI were included. The LI-RADS categories were assigned according to v2017 and v2018. The diagnostic performances were compared between v2017 and v2018 according to the size and combination of imaging features. RESULTS A total of 117 patients with 137 observations were identified, including 89 HCCs; 76.2% (64/84) of observations with threshold growth were re-classified as subthreshold growth when using v2018 instead of v2017. The final categories changed in nine (14%) cases. For the combination of LR-5/LR-5V, there were no significant differences in sensitivity and specificity between the two versions (sensitivity, 64% versus 58.4%; specificity, 87.5% versus 85.4%; all p>0.05). For the combination of LR-4 and LR-5/5V, the diagnostic performance of v2018 was inferior to that of v2017 when considering only major features (accuracy, 86.1% versus 80.3%, respectively; p=0.013), particularly in observations measuring 10-20 mm, but was comparable after adding the ancillary features (accuracy, 86.9% versus 86.1%, respectively; p=1.00). CONCLUSION In LI-RADS v2018, although a considerable number of observations re-classified subthreshold growth, changes in the assigned categories were insignificant; overall diagnostic performance was comparable to that of v2017, but v2018 might emphasise the value of ancillary features in combination with major features for determining the probability of HCC.

Abstract
Background We sought to evaluate the diagnostic performance of fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron-emission tomography/computed tomography (18F-FDG PET/CT) in the detection of metastatic lymph nodes by combined interpretation of PET/CT images in patients with oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Methods Two hundred three patients with oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma underwent 18F-FDG PET/CT before oesophagectomy and lymph node dissection. Maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax), mean Hounsfield unit (HU), short axis diameter (size), and visual CT attenuation (high, iso-, low) were evaluated on noncontrast CT and PET images following PET/CT scan. In this combined interpretation protocol, the high attenuated lymph nodes were considered benign, even if the SUVmax value was high. The diagnostic accuracy of each method was compared using the postoperative histologic result as a reference standard. Results A total of 1099 nodal stations were dissected and 949 nodal stations were proven to demonstrate metastasis. SUVmax and size of the malignant lymph nodes were higher than those of the benign nodes, and visual CT attenuation was significantly different among the two groups (P < 0.001). Using cutoff values of 2.6 for SUVmax and 10.2 mm for size, the combined interpretation of an SUVmax of more than 2.6 with iso- or low CT attenuation [area under the curve (AUC): 0.846, 95% confidence interval (CI): 0.824–0.867] showed significantly better diagnostic performance for detecting malignant lymph nodes than SUVmax only (AUC: 0.791, 95% CI: 0.766–0.815) and size (AUC: 0.693, 95% CI: 0.665–0.720) methods (P < 0.001) in a receiver operating characteristic curve analysis. Conclusions The diagnostic accuracy of PET/CT for nodal metastasis in oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma was improved by the combined interpretation of 18F-FDG uptake and visual CT attenuation pattern.

Abstract
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Conduction block is a pathognomonic feature of immune-mediated neuropathies. The aim of this study was to advance understanding of pathophysiology and conduction block in chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) and multifocal motor neuropathy (MMN). METHODS A multimodal approach was used, incorporating clinical phenotyping, neurophysiology, immunohistochemistry and structural assessments. RESULTS Of 49 CIDP and 14 MMN patients, 25% and 79% had median nerve forearm block, respectively. Clinical scores were similar in CIDP patients with and without block. CIDP patients with median nerve block demonstrated markedly elevated thresholds and greater threshold changes in threshold electrotonus, whilst those without did not differ from healthy controls in electrotonus parameters. In contrast, MMN patients exhibited marked increases in superexcitability. Nerve size was similar in both CIDP groups at the site of axonal excitability. However, CIDP patients with block demonstrated more frequent paranodal serum binding to teased rat nerve fibres. In keeping with these findings, mathematical modelling of nerve excitability recordings in CIDP patients with block support the role of paranodal dysfunction and enhanced leakage of current between the node and internode. In contrast, changes in MMN probably resulted from a reduction in ion channel density along axons. CONCLUSIONS The underlying pathologies in CIDP and MMN are distinct. Conduction block in CIDP is associated with paranodal dysfunction which may be antibody-mediated in a subset of patients. In contrast, MMN is characterized by channel dysfunction downstream from the site of block.

Abstract
RATIONALE Cardiac angiosarcoma is the most common malignant tumor of the heart and a rare disease with rapid disease progression and poor prognosis. Cardiac wall rupture is an extremely rare complication. PATIENT CONCERNS A 32-year-old woman presented with an acute onset of epigastric pain and chest discomfort at first time when she visited an emergency room. DIAGNOSES A cardiac mass was identified on echocardiography and subsequently performed chest computed tomography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging revealed the cardiac tumor at right atrium with right atrial wall rupture and hematogenous lung metastasis. Histopathologic diagnosis of metastatic angiosarcoma was done by open lung biopsy. INTERVENTIONS The patient was treated with palliative chemotherapy for the primary cardiac tumor and hematogenous lung metastasis. OUTCOMES The follow-up imaging studies revealed treatment response of the primary cardiac tumor and hematogenous lung metastasis. LESSONS Clinical and radiologic evaluation of the cardiac angiosarcoma was well performed in our case with various diagnostic imaging modalities including echocardiography, chest computed tomography, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging, and fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography/computed tomography. This case report well demonstrates typical imaging findings of a rare cardiac tumor and emphasizes importance of early investigation for accurate diagnosis and proper management of the cardiac tumor.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Although the hospitalization rate at early period of kidney transplantation (KT) is still high, the association between the hospitalization within 1 year after KT and graft survival is unclear. We investigated the incidence and causes of hospitalization and clinical outcome of the patients hospitalized within 1 year after KT. METHODS We retrospectively analyzed 174 KT recipients (KTRs) hospitalized within 1 year after KT between 2013 and 2015. RESULTS Among them, 84 (48%) KTRs were admitted within 1 year after KT, and the number of hospitalizations was 116. The mean time from KT to first hospitalization was 4.2 months. Seventy-eight percent of the patients were hospitalized for medical causes and 22% for surgical causes. The most common cause was cytomegalovirus infection (CMV) (23.3%), followed by acute rejection (11.2%) and urinary tract infection (10.3%). Recipients and donors in the hospitalized group were significantly older than the nonhospitalized group. The proportions of deceased donor KT, acute rejection, more than 50% panel-reactive antibody, and positive donor-specific antibody were significantly higher in the hospitalized group than in the nonhospitalized group. Graft and patient survivals were lower in the hospitalized group than in the nonhospitalized group. Deceased donor KT and acute rejection were independent risk factors for hospitalization. CONCLUSION The incidence of KTRs hospitalized within 1 year after KT was high. Most causes of hospitalization were CMV infection, acute rejection, and urinary tract infection. Therefore, the immunosuppression status of these patients should be closely monitored to reduce the hospitalization rate.

Abstract
BACKGROUND When subjects without a known malignancy present with suspicious skeletal lesions, differential diagnosis and primary cancer identification is important. Here, we investigated the role of FDG PET/CT in this clinical situation. METHODS We enrolled 103 patients with no known malignancies who were referred for FDG PET/CT because of bone lesions that were suspicious for cancer metastasis. Each extra-skeletal FDG lesion was categorized as consistent with primary cancer or with metastasis based on the distribution and pattern of all abnormal lesions in the individual. RESULTS Final diagnosis revealed that bone lesions represented cancer metastasis in 75 patients (72.8%). In the remaining 28 patients (27.2%), they were from other causes including multiple myeloma or lymphoma, malignant primary bone tumor, and benign bone disease. PET/CT indicated a primary cancer in 70 patients (68.0%). This was the correct primary site in 46 cases and the incorrect site in 13 cases (including 6 cases with cancer of unknown primary, CUP). In the remaining 11 cases, the bone lesions were due to other causes. PET/CT did not indicate a primary cancer in 33 patients (32.0%). Of these cases, 17 did not have a primary cancer, 8 had CUP, and 8 had primary cancers that were missed. Thus, PET/CT had a sensitivity of 61.3% and specificity of 60.7% for primary cancer identification in the entire population. Excluding patients with CUP, PET/CT sensitivity was 75.4%. PET/CT also provided information useful for recognizing multiple myeloma and benign bone disease as the cause of the skeletal lesions. CONCLUSIONS In patients without known malignancies with suspected skeletal cancer metastasis, FDG PET/CT can help identify the primary cancer and provide useful information for differential diagnosis.

Abstract
Catfish is the largest aquaculture industry in the United States. Edwardsiellosis is considered one of the most significant problems affecting this industry. Edwardsiella piscicida is a newly described species within the genus Edwardsiella, and it was previously classified as Edwardsiella tarda. It causes gastrointestinal septicaemia, primarily in summer months, in farmed channel catfish in the south-eastern United States. In the current study, we adapted gene deletion methods used for Edwardsiella to E. piscicida strain C07-087, which was isolated from a disease outbreak in a catfish production pond. Four genes encoding structural proteins in the type III secretion system (T3SS) apparatus of E. piscicida were deleted by homologous recombination and allelic exchange to produce in-frame deletion mutants (EpΔssaV, EpΔesaM, EpΔyscR and EpΔescT). The mutants were phenotypically characterized, and virulence and vaccine efficacy were evaluated. Three of the mutants, EpΔssaV, EpΔyscR and EpΔesaM, were significantly attenuated compared to the parent strain (p < .05), but EpΔescT strain was not. Vaccination of catfish with the four mutant strains (EpΔssaV, EpΔesaM, EpΔyscR and EpΔescT) provided significant protection when subsequently challenged with wild-type strain. In conclusion, we report methods for gene deletion in E. piscicida and development of vaccine candidates derived from a virulent catfish isolate.

Abstract
We present images of an 83-year-old female with a history of osteoporosis and bilateral total knee replacement arthroplasty, referred for bone scintigraphy and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/computed tomography (CT), owing to left knee pain. No trauma to, or intense exercise of, the knee was reported. The bone scan and SPECT/CT revealed a focally increased Tc-99m methylene diphosphonate (MDP) uptake in the medial cortex of the left femoral diaphysis with matched linear radiolucency on CT images. This was misinterpreted as atypical femoral stress fracture; however, focal stress reaction injury to the nutrient foramen was confirmed on contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging.

Abstract
BACKGROUND The mean age of patients starting dialysis in Korea has increased to older than 60 years and the proportion of patients aged 65 and older exceeded 40% in 2014. Although the number of elderly dialysis patients is increasing rapidly, percentages of elderly patients undergoing kidney transplantation (KT) are very low. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients who underwent KT at Keimyung University Dongsan Medical Center between 1982 and 2016. Elderly patients (≥65 years old) were compared with the control group of patients in their early sixties (60-64 years old). RESULTS Among a total of 1209 KT patients, those in their early sixties totaled 34 (2.8%) and the elderly totaled only 18 (1.5%). Patient and allograft survival rate showed no significant differences between the elderly and those in their early sixties. Death with a functioning graft accounted for 50% in both groups. However, occurrences of bacterial infection and tuberculosis were higher in the elderly (P = .011 and .047, respectively). In a multivariate analysis, longer duration of renal replacement therapy before KT and the occurrence of malignancy were independent risk factors for patient death (hazard ratio [HR], 1.027; P = .014; HR, 31.934; P = .016, respectively). Also, albuminuria at 6 months after KT was an independent risk factor for allograft loss (HR, 51.155; P = .016). CONCLUSION The overall survival rate of the elderly was not significantly lower than those in their early sixties. Even in the elderly, KT should not be delayed. In addition, careful surveillance for malignancy and measures to decrease the risk of infection are necessary.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Kidney re-transplantation is commonly considered to have a higher immunological risk than first kidney transplantation. Because of the organ shortage and increasing waiting lists, long-term outcomes of kidney re-transplantation are being studied. However, reports of re-transplantation outcomes are not common. We have reported our 30 years of experience with second kidney transplantations. METHODS Of 1210 kidney transplantations between November 1982 and August 2016 performed in our hospital, 105 were second kidney transplantations (2nd KT). Living donor KT was 44; deceased donor KT was 61. RESULTS Patient survival rates at 1, 5, and 10 years were 100%, 97.2%, and 90.7%, and graft survival rates were 97.0%, 94.6%, and 71.5%, respectively. The leading cause of graft failure in the 2nd KT was chronic rejection (60%). In addition, induction immunosuppressant, maintenance immunosuppressant, delayed graft function, and graft survival time at the 1st KT had a significant impact on graft survival time at the 2nd KT. CONCLUSIONS Reasonable results in both patient survival and graft survival rates were found in the 2nd KT. Careful monitoring of immunologic risk is needed.

Abstract
RATIONALE Among the causes of swelling in the extremities of renal transplantation patients, secondary lymphedema caused by complete idiopathic obstruction of large veins is rare and may be difficult to diagnose and treat. PATIENT CONCERNS A 64-year-old man presented with severe edema and pain that occurred suddenly in the right arm. DIAGNOSES The patient was diagnosed as stage-2 secondary lymphedema caused by idiopathic occlusion of the subclavian and innominate veins. INTERVENTIONS Lymphoscintigraphy and ascending venography of the right arm confirmed the diagnosis. Intensive complete decongestive therapy for lymphedema was performed. OUTCOMES Following 2 weeks of active rehabilitation, the pain level and edema status were significantly improved. LESSONS When idiopathic swelling of the extremities occurs in renal transplant patients, secondary lymphedema caused by venous occlusion may be the cause. When direct intervention for the venous occlusion proves to be difficult, a conservative approach may be helpful.

Abstract
BACKGROUND Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a dose-limiting toxicity of paclitaxel, with no reliable method to identify at-risk patients. We investigated the incidence and risk factors including genetic polymorphisms associated with the development of CIPN based on clinician and patient reporting of neuropathic symptoms. PATIENTS AND METHODS Risk factors for the development of CIPN were examined in 454 patients treated with paclitaxel/carboplatin from the International Collaboration on Ovarian Neoplasms 7 (ICON7) trial. Neuropathy was graded by clinicians by standard adverse event reporting and by patients utilising OV28 questionnaire. Genetic risk factors were examined by selecting six single nucleotide polymorphisms in genes associated with microtubule function. Risk factors were assessed via dose-to-event cox regression models. RESULTS Grade >2 neuropathy was reported by clinicians in 28% of patients, while 67% of patients reported 'quite a bit' or 'very much' tingling or numbness. Agreement between clinicians and patients was poor (κ = 0.236, 95% confidence interval, 0.177-0.296, P < 0.001). Older age, bevacizumab treatment and bowel resection were associated with clinician reported CIPN, while older age and volume of residual disease were associated with patient-reported neuropathy. There were no significant associations between clinician-reported neuropathy or patient-reported neuropathy and TUBB2, CEP72 or individual MAPT or GSK3B SNPs, however MAPT additive polymorphisms were associated with patient-reported neuropathy and GSK3B additive polymorphisms were associated with clinician reported CIPN. CONCLUSIONS There was significant discordance between patient- and clinician-reported neurotoxicity. The lack of consensus regarding optimal outcome measures and whose opinion with regard to CIPN takes precedence is a limitation in the investigation of risk factors for CIPN. Care must be taken to select and include patient-reported outcome measures in CIPN assessment to enable accurate identification of genetic and other risk factors for neuropathy.

Abstract
OBJECTIVES To determine differences in arch forms derived from the root apices locations between individuals with <2 mm maxillary crowding and controls. SETTING AND SAMPLE POPULATION The Department of Orthodontics, Pusan National University. Cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images of 102 patients in the control group and 95 patients in the crowding group. MATERIALS AND METHODS X, Y and Z coordinates of the tip of the crowns and the apex of the root of the maxillary teeth (except second molars) were determined on the CBCT images. The acquired three-dimensional (3D) coordinates were converted into two-dimensional (2D) coordinates via projection on the palatal plane, and the Procrustes analysis was employed to process the converted 2D coordinates. The mean shape of the arch form derived from the location of the tip of the crowns and the apex of the root was compared between groups using the statistical shape analysis. RESULTS There was a statistically significant difference (P = .046) between the groups for the mean shape of the root apex arch form, but the difference was small and clinically irrelevant as it is minor compared to the degree of crowding. CONCLUSIONS Maxillary arch from at the level of the maxillary apices only shows minor differences between crowded and non-crowded dentitions.

Abstract
The effects of stocking density on the performance, egg quality, leukocyte concentration, blood biochemistry, corticosterone levels, bone mineral density, and noxious gas emission of laying hens were investigated. Eight hundred 34-week-old Hy-Line Brown laying hens (Gallus gallus domesticus) were randomly assigned to one of 4 treatments, each of which was replicated 4 times. Four stocking densities, including 5, 6, 7, and 10 birds/m2, were compared. A commercial-type basal diet was formulated to meet or exceed nutrient recommendations for laying hens from the National Research Council. The diet was fed to the hens ad libitum for 8 wk. Results indicated that hen-day egg production, egg mass, and feed intake were less for (P < 0.01) 10 birds/m2 stock density than other stock densities. Production rate of floor and broken eggs and eggshell strength were greater (P < 0.01) for 10 birds/m2 stock density than other stock densities. There were no significant differences in the level of leukocytes among densities. However, heterophils and the H/L ratio were greater (P < 0.01) for 10 birds/m2 than in stock density of 6 or 7 birds/m2 Serum corticosterone was greater (P < 0.01) 10 birds/m2 than stock density than other stock densities. Litter moisture and gas emission (CO2 and NH3) were greater (P < 0.01) for 10 birds/m2 than stock density than 6 and 7 birds/m2 stock density. Bone mineral content was not influenced by increasing stock density. However, bone mineral density was less (P < 0.05) for 10 m2 stock density than other stock densities. These results indicate that increasing the density beyond 5 birds/m2 elicits some negative effects on laying performance of Hy-Line brown laying hens.

Abstract
AIM The aim of this study was to assess the effects of ursodeoxycholic acid composite (URSA-S) on fatigue in patients with elevated liver function tests and/or fatty liver disease. METHODS In this multi-centre randomised double-blinded placebo-controlled trial, 168 adults who were diagnosed with fatigue based on our criteria and had elevated liver function tests (but not > 5 times the normal level) and/or fatty liver on ultrasonography, were randomised to either the placebo or URSA-S administration group. The rate of improvement of checklist individual strength (CIS) using a cut-off of 76 points at the end of the study (8 weeks), the change in fatigue scale [CIS score and visual analogue scale (VAS)] were evaluated. The adverse effects of URSA-S were also recorded. RESULTS The rate of CIS improvement at the end-point was 79.76% and 45.68% in the therapy and placebo groups, respectively (p < 0.05). The fatigue recovery rate of the CIS score and VAS were higher in the therapy (-25.44 ± 18.57, -27.84 ± 2.70) than in the placebo group (-16.59 ± 17.29, -19.46 ± 2.81) (p < 0.05). The difference in fatigue recovery rate between the therapy and placebo groups was significant after 8 weeks. When analysed separately in patients with abnormal liver function tests and fatty liver disease, the fatigue recovery rate of the CIS score and VAS at 8 weeks was higher in the therapy than in the placebo group (p < 0.05). The frequency of adverse events in the therapy group was not significantly higher than that in the placebo group. CONCLUSION URSA-S is effective for alleviating fatigue in patients with liver dysfunction and/or fatty liver. The adverse effects of URSA-S are not significant. Abstract
AIM To identify the active compounds from the Streptomyces sp. MJM4426 that can protect rice from bacterial blight disease (BB), and to evaluate the potential of this Streptomyces strains and the compound for biocontrol of rice bacterial blight disease. METHODS AND RESULTS The ethyl acetate extract of Streptomyces sp. MJM4426 can significantly protect rice leaf explants from the infection of Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzaeKACC 10331 (Xoo), the pathogen which cause BB. To identify the active compounds, the ethyl acetate extract of Streptomyces sp. MJM4426 was fractionated through a Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and further purified by preparative HPLC guided by the inhibitory activity against BB in rice leaf explants. UPLC-Q-TOF/MS analysis showed the active compound displayed its m/z values at [M+H](+) 467·2086 and [M+FA-H](-) 511·1963, and the molecular formula was estimated as C28 H26 N4 O3 which is identical to commercial standard staurosporine. In this study, the isolated staurosporine dramatically suppressed bacterial blight in rice leaf explants with the lowest concentration at 12·5 μmol l(-1) , however, it exhibited low inhibitory activity against Xoo with the MIC value at 256 μg ml(-1) . In addition, greenhouse study showed both crude extract and purified staurosporine can suppress the bacterial blight at the concentration of 5000 and 200 μg ml(-1) respectively. CONCLUSION Streptomyces sp. MJM4426 can protect rice leaf explants from the infection of Xoo by producing staurosporine, but not by direct inhibitory activity against Xoo. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY This is the first report that staurosporine can protect rice leaf against bacterial blight disease and showed the potential of Streptomyces sp. MJM4426 as an alternative to chemical bactericide for bacterial blight disease in rice.

Abstract
Yolk-shell-structured MoSe₂ microspheres were prepared via a simple selenization process of MoO₃ microspheres. The yolk-shell-structured MoSe₂ and MoO₃ microspheres delivered initial discharge capacities of 527 and 465 mA h g(-1) in the voltage range of 0.001-3 V vs. Na/Na(+) at a current density of 0.2 A g(-1), respectively, and their discharge capacities after 50 cycles were 433 and 141 mA h g(-1), respectively. The yolk-shell-structured MoSe₂ microspheres also exhibited outstanding high rate capabilities. The hierarchical yolk-shell structure comprised of wrinkled nanosheets facilitated fast Na-ion and electron kinetics, and buffered the large volume changes encountered during cycling.

Abstract
SETTING Emphysema without airway obstruction or airway obstruction without emphysema are often detected clinically, although they are commonly co-existent. We therefore tested the hypothesis that non-obstructive emphysema and pure airway obstruction have unique features. METHODS A case-control observation study was undertaken retrospectively in a patient cohort at a single centre. Among 2662 subjects who underwent chest computed tomography and pulmonary function tests, we enrolled 90 patients with non-obstructive emphysema, 119 with pure airway obstruction, 81 with obstructive emphysema and 2031 subjects as normal controls. The features of the four groups were analysed and compared. RESULTS Higher serum homocysteine (13.4 ± 7.4 vs. 11.6 ± 4.6 mol/l), higher rate of osteoporosis (15.8% vs. 4.5%), higher leukocyte count, higher male ratio, lower serum albumin and lower body mass index were observed in subjects with non-obstructive emphysema than in controls (P < 0.05). In multiple logistic regression analysis of groups without airway obstruction, osteoporosis, hyperhomocysteinaemia, hypoalbuminaemia and higher leukocyte count were independent factors associated with non-obstructive emphysema (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Hyperhomocysteinaemia, hypoalbuminaemia, osteoporosis and higher leukocyte count were independent predictors of non-obstructive emphysema.

Abstract
Yolk-shell MoS2 powders with a distinct configuration of MoS2@void@MoS2 were prepared for the first time by applying spray pyrolysis. The yolk-shell MoO3 powders prepared by spray pyrolysis were converted into MoS2 powders by a simple sulfidation process at 400 °C without altering the morphology. Dense structured MoS2 powders were also prepared by a similar process. The respective initial discharge capacities of the yolk-shell and dense structured MoS2 powders at a current density of 1000 mA g(-1) were 651 and 490 mA h g(-1), and the corresponding capacity retentions after 100 cycles measured from the second cycle were 100 and 72%.

Abstract
Background We evaluated the prognostic value of volume-based metabolic positron emission tomography (PET) parameters in patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC) compared with other factors. Methods The subjects were 202 patients with pathologically proven SCLC who underwent pretreatment 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET/computed tomography (CT). Volumetric metabolic parameters of intrathoracic malignant hypermetabolic lesions, including maximum and average standardized uptake value, sum of metabolic tumor volume (MTV), and sum of total lesion glycolysis (TLG) were measured. Results 164 patients had died during follow-up (median 17.4 months) and median overall survival was 14 months. On univariate survival analysis, age, stage, treatment modality, sum of MTV (cutoff = 100 cm3), and sum of TLG (cutoff = 555) were significant predictors of survival. There was a very high correlation between the sum of MTV and the sum of TLG (r = 0.963, P < 0.001). On multivariate survival analysis, age (HR = 1.04, P < 0.001), stage (HR = 2.442, P < 0.001), and sum of MTV (HR = 1.662, P = 0.002) were independent prognostic factors. On subgroup analysis based on limited disease (LD) and extensive disease (ED), sum of MTV and sum of TLG were significant prognostic factors only in LD. Conclusion Both sum of MTV and sum of TLG of intrathoracic malignant hypermetabolic lesions are important independent prognostic factors for survival in patients with SCLC, in addition to age and clinical stage. However, it may be more useful in limited disease rather than in extensive disease.
