Abstract
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVE Previous studies have demonstrated that sarcopenia is frequently observed in patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP). However, most studies have defined sarcopenia solely based on skeletal muscle (SM) loss, and muscle weakness such as grip strength (GS) reduction has not been considered. We aimed to clarify whether SM loss and reduced GS have different associations with clinical characteristics and pancreatic imaging findings in patients with CP. METHODS One hundred two patients with CP were enrolled. We defined SM loss by the SM index at the third lumbar vertebra on CT (<42 cm2/m2 for males and <38 cm2/m2 for females), and reduced GS by < 28 kg for males and <18 kg for females. RESULTS Fifty-seven (55.9 %) patients had SM loss, 21 (20.6 %) had reduced GS, and 17 (16.7 %) had both. Patients with SM loss had lower body mass index, weaker GS, higher Controlling Nutritional Status score, lower serum lipase level, and lower urinary para-aminobenzoic acid excretion rate, suggesting worse nutritional status and pancreatic exocrine insufficiency. On CT, main pancreatic duct dilatation and parenchymal atrophy were more frequent in patients with SM loss than in those without it. Patients with reduced GS were older and had worse nutritional status than those without it. CONCLUSIONS SM loss was associated with pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, low nutritional status, and pancreatic imaging findings such as parenchymal atrophy and main pancreatic duct dilatation, whereas older age and low nutritional status led to additional reduced GS.

Abstract
An insulinoma is a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor that causes hypoglycemia. In the
elderly, as surgery is not always possible, drugs are an important alternative. However,
the effects of lanreotide on insulinomas have not yet been elucidated. We report the case
of an 85-year-old Japanese woman who was admitted for loss of consciousness and
hypoglycemia, which was resolved after intravenous glucose infusion. Insulin secretion was
not inhibited during hypoglycemia. Enhanced computed tomography and OctreoScan
scintigraphy revealed a pancreatic tumor (diameter, 13 mm) with radiotracer accumulation.
Thus, clinical insulinoma was confirmed. However, the patient refused further examination
and surgery. Diazoxide (150 mg/day) therapy resolved hypoglycemia but caused fluid
retention. Consequently, we switched to lanreotide (120 mg/6 weeks). Continuous glucose
monitoring revealed that both drugs had comparable effects on interstitial glucose
normalization. Furthermore, 447 days after the initiation of lanreotide treatment, the
patient had no hypoglycemic symptoms. Therefore, lanreotide may be a useful alternative
treatment option for inoperable insulinomas in elderly individuals.

Abstract
Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) expressed great potentials for offering a feasible alternative to conventional photovoltaic technologies. 2D/3D hybrid PSCs, where a 2D capping layer is used over the 3D film to avoid the instability issues associated with perovskite film, have been reported with improved stabilities and high power conversion efficiencies (PCE). However, the profound analysis of the PSCs with prolonged operational lifetime still needs to be described further. Heading towards efficient and long-life PSCs, in-depth insight into the complicated degradation processes and charge dynamics occurring at PSCs' interfaces is vital. In particular, the Au/HTM/perovskite interface got a substantial consideration due to the quest for better charge transfer; and this interface is debatably the trickiest to explain and analyze. In this study, multiple characterization techniques were put together to understand thoroughly the processes that occur at the Au/HTM/perovskite interface. Inquest analysis using current-voltage (I-V), electric field induced second harmonic generation (EFISHG), and impedance spectroscopy (IS) was performed. These techniques showed that the degradation at the Au/HTM/perovskite interface significantly contribute to the increase of charge accumulation and change in impedance value of the PSCs, hence resulting in efficiency fading. The 3D and 2D/3D hybrid cells, with PCEs of 18.87% and 20.21%, respectively, were used in this study, and the analysis was performed over the aging time of 5000 h. Our findings propose that the Au/HTM/perovskite interface engineering is exclusively essential for attaining a reliable performance of the PSCs and provides a new perspective towards the stability enhancement for the perovskite-based future emerging photovoltaic technology.

Abstract
A self-assembled monolayer (SAM) of 11-amino-1-undecanethiol (AUT) has been fabricated onto a gold (Au) substrate to co-immobilize anti-ochratoxin-A antibodies (AO-IgGs) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) to detect food borne mycotoxin [i.e., ochratoxin-A (OTA)]. AUT/Au electrode, AO-IgGs/AUT/Au immunoelectrode and BSA/IgGs/AUT/Au immunoelectrode have been characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electrochemical studies such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Electrochemical studies reveal that the AUT-SAM with NH2 groups provide favorable conditions to immobilize AO-IgGs with better orientation, resulting in enhanced electron transport to obtain improved sensing characteristics. The EIS response studies of the BSA/AO-IgGs/AUT/Au immunoelectrode obtained as a function of OTA concentration reveal that the value of the charge transfer resistance (RCT) increases with increased OTA concentration. The BSA/AO-IgGs/AUT/Au immunoelectrode exhibits linearity over 0.5-6.0 ng/dl, detection limit of 0.08 ng/dl using 3σb/m criteria, response time of 30 s and sensitivity of ∼36.83 Ω/ng dl(-1) cm(-2) with a regression coefficient of 0.999. Attempts have been made to monitor the change in RCT of BSA/AO-IgGs/AUT/Au immunoelectrode on addition of coffee samples.

Abstract
The free energy of condensed phase domains in monolayers at the air-water interface has been analyzed by taking into account the surface pressure, line tension, and electrostatic energy due to the normal and in-plane spontaneous polarization. We found that this free energy was reduced to the sum of the Frank elastic energy and anisotropic line tension, which were used to reproduce the shapes of domains in fatty acid monolayers, in the limit of small orientational deformation. Domains in monolayers are interesting systems as a meeting point between the physics of liquid crystals and electrostatics.
